I enjoy the Top Round Roast Beef’s Sandwich. I ordered The Beef on Wreck take out and it is really good. And I also enjoy the Curly Fries!! So I heard about this restaurant from the YouTube channel BuzzFeed Worth It. Because I heard they tried the Best Fries for a Cheap Price. You can try which Beef Sandwich look good for you. So I would definitely come back here to try a different Sandwich from their menu.

I wanted to try out this restaurant because I saw them on Worth it! I never had roast beef before so I wanted to check it out for myself. It does have a small parking lot but I took transportation, you can take the Metro 28 from DTLA. Customer service is excellent and nicely took my order. I had the roast beef with cheese and it was delicious. It was juicy and sweet and of course the curly fries were hot and had that crunchiness. I'll definitely come back to try other food items.

I was driving down Olympic Boulevard and felt myself getting hungry. Just then Top Round appeared and I pulled in the parking lot. From the outside it looks unassuming, but don’t be fooled, magic is hiding inside. I ordered a Beef&Cheese , Curly Fries , a Vanilla Milkshake and Ranch/ Chipotle Mayo. Let me Start with the Sandwich: Its like you’re biting into the breast of an angel. The bread is soft but not mushy. The Cheese is light but very flavourful. And, the king of it all, The roast beef is delicate and so soft. It tastes and feels like high quality short rib. The BBQ sauce is spot on as well - not overpowering the other flavours but doing its own thing and doing it well. The Fries: Who knew Fries can be light and make you not feel like a 4 day old bag of garbage after? I didnt, until I ate these fries. The Ranch works really well with them as well as the spicy mayo (WHICH IS ACTUALLY SPICY! how refreshing!!) The shake was really solid as well and Staff was friendly. I will 100% be coming back here the next time i’m in LA. Yes , its that good. Their Tag line is Chef driven Fast Food, and I can tell ‘ya , they ain’t lyin’

Oh, how I love this food! Their Horse&Hole mushroom roastbeef sandwich with horseradish is the next level of deliciousness! I'm so glad their location is not far and very convenient with parking, so we can grab it whenever we crave for this food masterpiece. I have to be honest tho, I didn't try anything else on the menu because I can't make myself to order anything else. I just love the idea and taste of THIS sandwich. Please, guys, never close!

Forget Arby’s. Do yourself a favor and never eat there again, but instead always go to Top Round. Make sure to get a version of the beef sandwich with horseradish as it’s just spectacular! They’ve got outdoor and indoor seating with the outdoor seating available during the pandemic so you don’t have to eat in your car. Food comes up fairly quickly even though it’s made to order and the milkshakes are good too although I did 4 stars because I don’t think the ice cream in the milkshake is custard as claimed and the sandwiches are a bit on the small side for the price charged. Otherwise excellent experience and we will be back many times!

This is the first time here based on the reviews and it doesn't disappoint. The roast beef was very thin and tender and the cheese wiz was awesome. The curly fries were hot and had a great potato taste. The cashier Melina and the staff were attentive and fastidious. I will be back!

Fast food roast beef sandwiches and frozen custard. Came here for dinner before catching a show at the El Rey with the sis around 8:30, and there was still a short line. There’s outdoor and indoor seating, and you can order all your food either inside or outside (ignore the sign that says to only order fries and sandwiches that’s above the outside window). Parking is available in their private lot, but it’s small and spaces are pretty tight. The food was tasty, albeit smaller than expected. The beef and cheese sandwich was filling, and I especially enjoyed the spongey buns. The beef was tender enough, and I don’t want to know what’s in the cheese whiz, but it was good. The dirty fries came in a curly cut, and had sweet, caramelized onions, beef chunks, and gravy on top. We got a concrete to top off the meal, and the food came within 5 minutes. They have water cups and a fountain drink dispenser inside. For your knowledge, a concrete has all the ingredients mixed in while the sundae only has them in top. They have standard combinations or you can mix your own, up to 4. Unfortunately they were out of hot fudge and don’t have a coffee flavor, but it was still good. It wasn’t as thick as I thought it would be, but there’s no emulsifiers or preservatives so it does taste homemade. The brownies we added in were really chewy and sweet, and we also tossed in graham crackers and Oreos into a vanilla concrete. Didn’t see any bathrooms, there’s no free WiFi, they do take credit card, and you can order to-go or eat-in and they’ll call your name on the intercom system.

I have to say, I’m kind of disappointed with my visit. I got a vanilla malt shake and an OG Roast Beef and another OG with horseradish cream. The shake was small and lacked enough malt flavor. The OG on the menu is a bit dry without much flavor. The one with horseradish cream was a bit better, but neither really were that satisfying. Don’t think I need to stop here again.

Top round means top quality in every item they sell. Small menu with items that are relative to their main product which is their roast beef. I will try the chicken next time as it is marinated in brine and buttermilk with pickle juice.

Good roast beef sandwiches but that's all they have going for them. Prices are high, sides are just frozen bulk items thrown in a fryer, sauces cost $1 each, and the custard machine has been broken for 6+ months.

It was an "ok" place to eat. I don't think it deserves a 5 star rating. The meat wasn't as flavorful as I expected... Especially for the price. It's roughly $12 for a combo (sandwich-fries-drink). Bottom line I would eat there again but I would not go out of my way to do so.

I don't remember what they're called but their version of The Loaded french fries are amazing. I would go back just for those. The roast beef? It's okay. It's certainly better than Arby's, but that's just it it's a better Arby's sandwich. Go for the fries.

Walked to a park to eat so about 10ish minute walk. I got the Horse and Hole which I really enjoyed! Roast beef was excellent and warning, only get it if you like horseradish cause that was a strong and dominant flavor! Hubs got the Buffalo Chicken which was not too bad but unfortunately, very soggy by the time we were able to eat it. For sides, we got tater tots (delicious!) and Dirty Fries (meh, should've gotten the curly). Loved their ice creams! We got Cookies & Cream Concrete and a Strawberry Shake - both were so yummy! Pricey for what it is, but quite work the try!

Place looked pretty empty so no waiting for ordering and get my food, so that's a plus. Friendly staff as it was my first time I asked for suggestions. Was told to try the beef and cheese so I went ahead and order that plus a side of curly fries (the main reason I had this place in mind). Food was tasty. The most juicy delicious roast beef sandwich I’ve ever had at a fast food place. Something special is going on here! House made fries, seasoning, insane combos for frozen custard. Unbeatable! Move over “other” spots. We don’t even talk about them anymore. We’ve got Top Round!

I've been to Top Round out in Dallas so I thought I'd swing by here to grab something quick for the kid. Got tater tots and a small order of chicken strips at the attached Red Robin Chicken. Not sure if this counts as Top Round technically but they are in the same building so this is what you get. The chicken wasn't too great and tots were tots. Ice cream is great though. I'd come here just for their ice cream.

I had the Horse and Hole and Black n Blue. Each different but really delicious tasting high quality roast beef sandwiches. Some of the best around. Had the Kale slaw, too. Very tasty little salad. If You're Expecting Arby's or even Arby's prices don't come here. This is really good food with real roast beef that's not pressed or processed. It's not an expensive with tip a roast beef sandwich with mushrooms, curly fries and a soda ended up costing close to $18. But I've got to say it was worth every penny. They have vegetarian options and salad options and it's a fun atmosphere because you're sitting on one of the major intersections of Los Angeles and it's great to sit in there indoor or outdoor area. I highly recommend it.

Top Round's philosophy is, "Chef driven fast food" and they surely deliver on that. Everything that we tried was delicious and a huge leap above standard fast food joints. All of the ingredients were fresh and cooked when ordered. They even make their own fresh cheese-wiz!

My favorite place for the greatest roast beef ever... an elevated Arby’s and the meat is a real roast that is sliced thin. Just like homemade the horse in hole is our current favorite with a horsey sauce which is like a mayonnaise with horseradish and the mushrooms just takes it up a notch. I have always noticed how kind and nice all the employees are . The pastrami burger is also beyond delicious! Prices are great because they give you quality and a lot of it.

My fave place for roast beef sandwiches. Horse and Hole and Black and Bleu are my favorites. Their chicken sandwiches are delicious as well. Good sized sandwiches. Tater tots, curly fries, kale slaw...all great sides. I'm partial to the kale slaw w their homemade honey mustard dressing. They also make sundaes and shakes which are rich and creamy. Can't go wrong with any food here. They are known for their roast beef and it shows in the taste of their sandwiches.

Hand breaded chicken fingers were awesome as well. Great place to stop for lunch if in mid LA and near La brea. Decent prices, too. FYI - spend the extra dollar or two for more beef, you won’t be sorry.

Real, let me say that again, REAL roast beef sandwiches. Get the plain and simple one first. The OG Roast Beef! Spend a dollar more and make it "Beefier". It's already a great hot sandwich, but the Beefier option puts it into perfection. REALLY ! The Doubled "Beefier" option doesn't add much appeal, just more awesome beef! We had noticed that Top Round had added chicken (as well as a few other items) to it's menu. We were curious about the chicken and also nervous that these new items would come at the cost of their staple sandwiches. We were thrilled that the Roast beef sandwiches were as good as ever and that the new chicken was pretty good. We look forward to returning to check out more of the new sauces too.

Steamship round style roast beef cooked and carved on site, tasty an juicy. Great fries, including dirty fries, cheese-wiz fries, and tator-tots. I saw this place from a BuzzFeed video. After seeing what Top Round has to offer online, I just had to make the trip to see for myself. I'm a fan of Arby's Beef and Cheddar, but oh man Top Round's version blows it out of the water (in this case au jus). The beef flavor with the cheese is more distinct and the curly fries with whiz was tasty. I even topped it off with a banana pie concrete for dessert. Would come back again to try the other items. Thoroughly impressed in my opinion.

Rarely is the occasion that I buy something in bite into it and wish that I could just keep doing it over and over again if you try anything please try the pastrami burger here to Tinder Moy’s meat covered over the beef patty mixed in with the vegetable greens wonderful sauce is delicious but make it impossible for me to stop eating this!! Top Round serves delicious quality food at really high prices. A black and blue sandwich with a side of fries and a vanilla shake ended up costing me around $18 plus tip $23. But you get what you pay for with succulent cuts of roast beef and deliciously crisp beef tallow fries. The classic vanilla shake is made to order by hand and taste fresh.

Great little find! Had lunch here, got the Black and Blue sandwich with dirty fries and was pleasantly surprised. Great rare roast beef, just the way I love it and it wasn't overpowered with the blue cheese. Dirty fries were some of the best I've ever had. Will definitely be back!

Saw this place on the internet and had to try it out. Not from the area so I begged my family to take me. Best cheese sauce ever! Homemade curly fries! Custard milkshakes! Every table has a bottle of shake seasoning. Put it on EVERYTHING! Go for extra meat on your sandwich, trust me. Plus, plenty options if you're not a roast beef fan. 10/10 will visit again.

Has a cool retro vibe to the place. You order at the walkup window outside (if you head right into the restaurant they’ll take your order at the counter also) and pickup inside. The employees a few times brought the orders out to the already seated customers, which was really nice. Friendly staff, food made fresh to order. Service was quick. Tried new joint on La Brea en route to Beverly Hills. I knew it was going to be bouge little snacks at event referred to as horderves so I stopped at Top Round to "top er off" before I arrived. Great find. Arby's type Roast Beef but with HEART like a Mom n Pop type place. Menu is great food was amazing I had chik tenders n pastrami burger. Washed it down with a real chocolate ice cream shake. INCREDIBLE!!! Took home a banana pie on concrete. U can thank me later

I'm always looking for new places to get frozen custard in LA, and this place has my heart. Great location and friendly staff. The sandwiches are all delicious, the fries are solid, but it's really the frozen custard that takes the cake. Come hungry because the concretes are large and perfectly blended.

This looks like a place that should have closed 20 years ago. But because it looks so old and like they don't even care about appearances, that told me that the food must be at least pretty good. Now this is fast food. The sign says 'Chef driven fast food'. I'm not sure about that, but for what it is, it is pretty darn good. It manages to be both classic and somewhat experimental at the same time. The unfortunate thing for Top Round though is that this whole intersection, which doesn't look like anything special food-wise, actually has a surprising amount of great food around it. So Top Round is usually my last choice, but i'm happy its there.

One of the best, most consistent applications of the modern chef driven fast/casual food style restaurants. They're higher quality and more expensive than a regular fast food outlet but offer similar items on their basics. Limited seating and a cool retro design make it a fun, delicious.

Came here after school for a good dinner and the meal was somewhat disappointing. Chicken sandwiches are so good, I live for them, so you know I had to come here and try their sandwiches which isn't too far from me. The 'Chicken Cali' was not it. The meat was burnt around the edges, very dry, lacking flavor. The sandwhich consist of tomatoes, onions, lettuce, mayo, and non-toasted buns. And the only thing that stood out was the onions, I tasted them the most. I have never been a fan of non-toasted buns on sandwiches or burgers, but I really enjoyed this one. The bun tasted sweet and I like it! The chicken Cali was saved by the 'seasoning shake; it's a seasoning that's on all of the tables, both inside and outside. When I added it onto the sandwich, that was missing link...seasoning! I didn't enjoy the Cali at first, but adding the seasoning shake didn't make me regret paying for the Cali, it saved the sandwich. The curly fries on the other hand, amazing! The fries are done perfectly and I enjoyed every bite of them! I couldn't finish them off, so I took them home and I will fo sho devour them pretty soon. The service was fast. My food arrived within what felt like 5 minutes. Both the cashier and server were nice and gave me respect. Overall Chicken Cali = 2/5 Chicken Cali with 'seasoning shake' = 4/5 Curly Fries = 5/5 Service = 5/5 *I will be back again one day to have their 'Custard on a cone'. Update 11/15/2019 Finally got around to coming back and getting the 'Ice Cream Custard' and it wasn't bad at all. I've never had custard before and I think the difference is that custard ice-cream is much more creamer and softer than regular ice cream. The rainbow sprinkles were such a great touch, so good. The waffle cone was good as well, I don't remember a time where I had a good ice cream cone that didn't taste like sawdust cardboard. In addition, I also got my favorite meal: curly fries, but this batch wasn't my favorite. The fries tasted very fresh and didn't have the signature cruch that I love so much. They could have been fried for a while longer, and had more salt, but that didn't stop me from finishing the fries either way. Overall, good icecream, ok fries and great service as always! This is a retro style fast food place with all the modern convenience. The food is on the pricey side and the portion are kinda average but the quality is hard to beat. The establishment looks like something from the late 60's to early 70's. The place is very clean. You can dine inside or out. There is outdoor heating when it's cold and is shaded from sun and rain. Unlimited refills on beverages and the dispenser is a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine that serves a huge selection of drinks. The parking lot is small and its on the corner of a busy intersection. If you are going west on Olympic during heavy traffic, you will have tough time getting here.

I love the retro vibe of this place. Yes, Top Round makes its own cheese wizz. This stuff is thick and creamy and melty and heavenly. It's killer with the curly fries. It's also fantastic on the beef sandwich which is meaty and dripping. The hot dog is kinda ugly but quite tasty, and the chicken sandwich is simple and crispy. Oh, and don't forget to get a shake!

The OG chicken sandwich was really good! Very crispy fried chicken, crunchy fresh pickles and the brioche bun really added to the flavor. The curly gravy fries are delicious with chunks of roast beeef and they don’t put to much on so the fries are still crispy and not soggy.

Oh my goodness best roastbeef sandwich ive ever had!!! Juicy tender meat, flavorful the bun soft, fresh, kinda sweet. Employees are super friendly, upbeat. Place is jammin with 80s throwbacks, clean and best part is you can go late at night since its open until midnight or 2am. Will forsure travel from Anaheim again just to go. Oh and i forgot to mention the shakes, i ordered a neapolitan and she like separated the 3 in the cup somehow. 🤯 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Where else can you get a quick, affordable, tasty roast beef sandwich other than Arby's in L.A.? The beef on weck is a solid choice. The "atomic" horseradish isn't really that spicy in my opinion but it's still very flavorful. The sea salt and caraway seeds on the soft bun are a subtle but effective complement to the juicy, mid-rare, paper-thin slices of beef. Get it beefier (extra meat) if you're "hangry." I recommend dousing the curly fries or tots in their house seasoning blend which reminds me of "boardwalk-style" fries seasoning. One of these days I might feel adventurous and order something other than roast beef... riiight, who am I kidding?! Love their shakes and concretes. Their Coke remix machine is always stocked with whatever flavor your carbonated sweet tooth desires. Service is on-par with the food which is a good thing. Only thing I would gripe about is the nostalgic yet cramped outdoor seating which remind me of elementary school cafeteria seats and make me feel like I've had one too many of their shakes. Anyway, I hope this joint sticks around for years to come.

I love that OG roast beef. I get 33% beefier every now and then when I’m feeling naughty...which is every time! Then, to top it off, I git a coffee shake with rainbow sprinkles mixed in. Oh. Daddy. On its own without the rainbow jimmies, the coffee shake is top 3 in LA. With them good ol’ rainbow jimmies it’s on another level. The shake on its own is excellent, I say that sincerely. Overall, I’m actually surprised I like this place so much but I must say the roast beef is fresh and delicious and the coffee shake is on another level. If you don't hanker for roast beef, there are alternatives: fried chicken sandwiches, pastrami, and their delicious butter burger. If a salad entices you, they have those. Tater tots plain, smothered, and/or covered (gravy and/or house cheese wiz) along with curly fries complement your meal. Save room for frozen custard or, my face, a pistachio shake or malt.
