Are you in the mood for soul food? I know I am! Great restaurant that feels like home cooked meals. They welcome you as soon as you walk in. The food was very good, I ordered the fried chicken with the beef ribs and it comes with the honey dipping sauce A+++. Also braised short ribs with the ox tail yummy. The breaded cat fish was a hit also. To be honest everything was great. Definitely coming back to try other items on the menu. It’s not very cheap but not too expensive also, around $25 pp. give it a try.

Walking into Annie’s I felt like I was welcomed by family. The front lady who took our order was wonderful and helpful. She recommended the 2 piece chicken. I got the hot which has a kick but edible (not too hot). She asked if it was our first time which it was for me and walked into the kitchen. She came back with 2 free drinks for me and my friend. It goes without saying the food was delicious. For sides I got the Mac and cheese, potato salad and my favorite - the fried Brussel sprouts! I will definitely be returning when I’m craving fried chicken again!!

Wow, what an amazing place and I'm glad I tried this place during DineLA weeks. The owner and staff were friendly and food came out quickly. We have never tried soul food and we were pleasantly surprised by the flavor! It's a tiny place on Fairfax and it could be hard to find street parking. There are about 5 tables inside the restaurant and several tables outside. 👍❤️

I really enjoyed our lunch here. The place was cheery and clean... The staff was super friendly... and the food was very good.. I would have given it five out of five stars but felt that the portions were not as large as we hoped... compared to the price that we paid.

I've been wanting to try this place for quite some time and today is the day tried to order online but couldn't the website was obviously having issues so I called it took me about 15 minutes to place the order. I arrived about 15 to 20 minutes later it was very packed but there was outside seating available I waited in line maybe 5 to 10 minutes before a young lady came and asked me my name and took my payment and went in the back and got my food and as you can see in the pictures this is a result of this delicious food

When I tell you Soul Delicious is the perfect name because, my compliments to the chef!!! I got salmon croquettes with Mac, greens, and yams and everything is bomb. There is so much flavor in everything, I had started eating the sides and forgot I had the croquettes lol I highly recommend if your in the mood for some authentic soul food y’all go see Annie cause you won’t be disappointed!

First time eating here, my husband got the smothered pork chops w/greens, cabbage & black eyed peas. Banana pudding for dessert. Everything was seasoned perfectly. I got oxtail w/Mac & cheese (I had to sub the green beans were out), cornbread dressing & rice w/gravy. Again Everything was seasoned perfectly, oxtail & gravy was the best & tender. Mac & cheese was good but not my favorite. Cornbread & butter was also really good, idk what kind of butter it was but was a favorite. We will definitely go back but order ahead we waited about an hour.

Lord have mercy!! I'm from the SOUTH and this has to be thee best soul for restaurant I've ever tried!!! It is literally a whole experience from the time you walk in getting "complimentary drinks" upon arrival to EVERY SINLGE BITE you take. The staff is amazingly kind like wow and super helpful at helping me choose items that were dairy free!! I had the Salmon Croquettes (LAWD HAVE MERCY) meal with green beans 🙌🏾, cabbage (I don't even like cabbage like that but chile listen this cabbage is SO GOOD🤚🏾), and fried okra👏🏾 and honey...MY MOUTH DROPPED. BUT to top it off Annie asked if I like black eyes peas and I said no... she brought out a sample, I tried it and instantly LOVED and welp now I'm a black eye pea lover🤚🏾 Thank me later!!

I never had try shrimp and grits buts this is absolutely 💯 delicious 😋 i highly recommend especially after 2 IPA'S. The shrimp is so good and the tomato 🍅 sauce with the white stuff is mind blowing. This made my night so good as I celebrate moving into my own place while I watch GOODZILLA VS KONG. I will definitely be back for a new dish to try.

Sooo Annie’s Soul Delicious is called that for a true reason. The food is freak’n delicious! The staff were friendly and lively. They didn’t mind answering our questions and giving their suggestions. Since this was our first time, you get a one of their yummy drinks. I enjoyed looking at their artwork and of course I signed the wall. Look for Sunshine! I recommend this spot to everyone!! What was ordered: Fried Chicken / Mac & Cheese / Braised Cabbage / Black Eyed Peas / Lobster Special Fried Chicken = The “magic flour” was necessary & flavory Mac & Cheese = Thank you for not messing up the Mac! Braised Cabbage = I kept eating even though I was full Black Eyed Peas = Is my grandma back there cooking? Lobster Special = Every bite a flavor surprise & plenty of meat

Eh, my experience with Annie's was so-so. I ordered the smothered turkey wings combo w/ three sides (mac and cheese, yams, greens) and peach cobbler as my dessert. The turkey wings and yams were really good! I will give them that. I didn't like the cheese (in addition to the american or cheddar cheese) that's used in the mac and cheese. It was cooked well but I couldn't stand the taste. The greens were salty, crunchy, and could've been cooked longer. Lastly, this peach cobbler? Idk where the cobbler part was because this was peach soup.Totally missed the mark on the "tripple crust."

We have been looking all over for a good soul food spot ( For the days when I don't feel like cooking). This place was surprisingly very tasty. We got the Hennessey wings which were a little big for our taste but they were definitely flavorful. You have to try the corn bread stuffing!! Fire! My salmon was a bit over done but it was still very good. Next time I want to try the stuffed salmon. Annalisa was super sweet she gave us free drinks because we were first timers. The drinks were sooooo yummy.... All they needed was a little tequila lol. J/k kinda 😋. It was really busy so you may want to order ahead and pick up your food. Everything was tasty tho and not stupid expensive ... So we'll Def be back!

I would go back just because they made me and my friends feel so welcomed..I live in bellflower and I have no problem driving way over there the the food and service!

I gave 3 stars because the sides I ordered I didn't received, corn muffins looked so yummy but were dry. Crumbled in my mom's hand, my fried wings were burnt & the cabbage was soggy. Everything else was amazing. I'd go there again.

OMG! The food is incredibly flavorful. Worth the wait, as they are so popular Sunday nights. Got the catfish combo with homemade Roumelade sauce. Heavenly! Crunchy cornmeal breading on the outside and mouthwateringly soft on the inside. Smoky green beans, soupy black-eyed peas, And the best candied yams anywhere. Plus-!! Cute baby cornbreads and a dessert of a mini cherry pie with giant marshmallow on top! A feast to feed at least 2 people, for $24 (plus my dessert)

My cousin told me about this place and it is to die for. The food is so so good we had the short rib plate with the best candied yams I've ever tasted bomb mac and cheese and some greens that had my mouth watering. The only thing I can complain about is the cornbread because it wasn't what I expected but it was still all right other than that this place is the spot I want to go back today. Parking might be a little tricky on Fairfax but we only had to circle the Box twice and we were able to get a spot so get there a little early to find parking and they also take a minute to cook the food but it's well worth it and the containers they put the food in our reusable my kind of place.

excellent vibe in store and 3/4 of my items were amazing. I had a two piece chicken combo w mac&cheese, green beans, and collard greens. my only negative is that the collard greens weren't cooked enough bc they were still very bitter, to the point where I couldn't even finish them. I ordered the Fried Chicken ( wings) and I was shocked the chicken was not seasoned. The skin was nice and crispy. The Oxtails were falling off the bone which was nice, but the meat was chewy, the seasoning was good. The Sides Were AmaZing, I had the Greens, Yams, and Dressing w/gravy.

Very delicious food. I love their Banana pudding. It's fresh, creamy and oh, so good. I can't get enough of it. I order it every time I get food from them. I also love their Brussel sprouts and HOT honey chicken wings. The peach cobbler is pretty inspirational as well. What I do not like is that they continue to mess up my orders from Uber Eats. I ordered a side of Brussel sprouts, they send me green beans. I pay for another cornbread muffin bag and they forget it all together. Etc. Etc. That is annoying to deal with. For this, I take off one star.

This was a great small restaurant. They do huge amounts of ubereats and delivery food. The ladies at the counter were so very very nice!! We had a great conversation with them. GROWN WOMAN!! 😂😂 When I am in LA again I would love to stop by there and eat. I had fried catfish, brussel sprouts, cabbage, macaroni and cheese and cornbread muffins with this ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 tropical fruit punch drink. Everything was absolutely delicious!!! Hmm... out of all of these reviews I find it really interesting that no one brings up the mac & cheese and how bad it is. I stopped by for the first time yesterday. The vibes were nice, reminded me of Harlem, NY. However, the wait was incredibly long and they don't have enough support in the front. Nevertheless, I was excited to try Annie's and ordered the BBQ Chicken platter with greens, yams, and mac and cheese. I also ordered the Salmon Croquettes. Everything was amazing EXCEPT for the mac & cheese and the croquettes. I can forgive how dry and over seasoned the salmon croquettes were... BUT THE MAC & CHEESE?! How can I go back to a soul restaurant that doesn't make baked mac & cheese properly? I come from a soul food cooking family and this is not it. There seems to be a core ingredient missing. Not enough of the right cheeses, definitely a cheese or two missing, AND there is a blatant lack of seasoning on the mac itself. It almost ruined my meal, I am so disappointed. If I go back, I'd only get the meats. But, I doubt I'd travel so far for this again. Please improve the mac & cheese.

The last three times I have ordered the mac & cheese and candy yams have been terrible. It seems like they’ve changed recipes or cooks because I couldn’t even bring myself to eat the mac & cheese either overpowered with smoked gouda or tasting like velveeta. The candy yams on the other hand tasted like they just dumped it out straight from the can. It USED to be good and the main dishes don’t disappoint but the sides is reason id order from here.

It’s really good, I can’t exaggerate enough…I’m lowkey mad at her for cooking this damn good and playing with my emotions like this—Just wow. And on top of that the service is great😫 Also, the owner happens to be gluten free so there’s a bunch of options that are actually gluten free despite them not being advertised as such. The best soul food I've ever had. I'm not a fan of seafood, but I'll eat the fried catfish, shrimp & the salmon croquettes from here everyday if I could. Every single thing I've tried from here is very delicious. And the meal portions are so much that at least two people can share it. The desserts are yummy and the drinks are not only pretty looking, they taste great too. My favorite drink there is mixed with ½ Strawberry Lemonade & ½ Soul Delicious Punch. It's not all colorful & pretty, but it's the right combination of sweet & tart that makes the perfect drink. The employees are friendly & welcoming. You're treated like family here. If you haven't tried it yet, go for it. You won't be disappointed 💯

I give them a 3.5 because there's always room for improvement and their parking could be better. I love their mini Peach cobblers the specialty drinks are to die for. Ok so here’s my take. I have pretty much every soul food restaurant in Los Angeles and a few in the south… Atlanta and Houston… this place competes with every spot and kills all in Los Angeles. They are fantastic Simple as that. I really think they have it together in all phases of food. Their dessert is phenomenal and the drinks are sweet yet unique. You will not find another place better so just order she’d be happy. Your revenue l review is after ordering Atleast 5 times and the last time was the final straw. Annie's Soul Delicious's name speaks for itself. The diabetes drink in a cup is very sweet, but it's good. The desserts are all good, especially that banana pudding cake and the peach cobbler. Oh I can't forget the food. Those green beans, black-eyed peas, dressing and according to my husband the smothered pork chops were all to die for. We needed a wheelbarrow to wheel us to the car.

This truly has to be one of the BEST places I've experienced in all of LA. It starts with the Vibe and Vibrant energy of all of the staff. They made me feel so welcomed, that I didn't want to leave. Then the Food... Its unmatched. Now.. there are alot of places that say they make Soul food... but this is the 1st time in a very very long time my Soul was truly Fed! This might be the best soul food in LA.All the other solid food places got some real competition. The mini corn bread muffins awesome. Mac and cheese awesome. The dressing was outstanding must go. Location Is lovely staff is very nice. A very nice addition to little Ethiopia.

Today was my first visit to Annie's, my visit was remarkably pleasant. I order the fried smothered porkchops, green beans, dressing, mac n cheese and lemon jello cake. ALL was tasteful, and well seasoned. The staff was attentive, kind, and professional. I plan to return for more yummy food.

Was really excited to try this place on the recommendations of my coworkers. Sadly I had to order take out which probably affected the food quality. I got the shrimp and grits which had a great flavor but the shrimp was overcooked and rubbery. I would definitely try this again if I were eating in. The fried pork chops and smothered pork chops were a bit salty and the meat was very thin. My wife thought they had accidently given us fried catfish. Lol. The gravy was good and went well with the rice. The sides were ok. I really liked the green beans that had a smoky flavor with a bit of heat to it. Definitely getting this again. Although the prices were a bit steep for the food quality I will definitely be coming back for more. Need to try more of their selections when it's hot and right of the stove. Will update this review when I do that

The shrimp and grits were the perfect consistency and super cheesy deliciousness. The honey butter on the cornbread was truly amazing. And the welcome drinks were very tasty. Almost forgot the strawberry pudding that reminded me how good pudding can be. The people were so welcoming, made us feel like we were family. I ordered holiday catering despite having never tried this restaurant. I ordered food to go while I waited for the catering order to be filled. Catfish and shrimp with 3 sides. The portions were more than enough and pretty tasty. The catfish and shrimp were seasoned well. The shrimp was cooked a little more than I prefer yet I still enjoyed them. The cabbage wasn't my cup of tea. They were ok. The yams and Mac were pretty good. The catering order was short ribs and theb stuffed salmon. The meat was tender and so delicious. 10/10 the beat damn soul food restaurant out here!!!! I moved out here from the east coast and I’ve been all over the LA map in search of some soul food that remind me of my families cooking from down south and yessss I found it!!!! Ordered take out for my husband ‘s birthday a few weeks ago during the Omicron surge. Since we were having a small family gathering, I called the Restauant a day in advance. We wanted to order individual dinners from the menu. Annie was so helpful with assuring our meals would be ready the next day at a specific time even though she wouldn’t be there that day. I texted the order to her and my granddaughter picked up the meals the next day. Isaiah also helped to coordinate. The meals were beyond fantastic. Everything was sooo good and hot. All I could hear were oohs and ahhhs as my family ate their meals and I got all the credit. Annie and her staff are the ones who deserve the credit. We had short ribs, fried chicken, fried fish, oxtails, shrimp, Mac & cheese, greens, yams, rice and gravy and banana pudding and peach cobbler to top it off. Everything was delicious. I have been telling all my friends and when I get to LA, we will be going to the restaurant in anticipation of another great meal.

The food was served hot and in good portions. Especially the sides. I had catfish, cabbage and sweet potatoes. The cornbread was ok. The staff was ok as well. When ordering over the phone the person was a little rushed but that could be that they were busy. It was 10pm at night. Black owned in LA, its worth a try.

The Goods: I wanna give this place more stars to be honest. This place is a small little spot located in the Ethiopian district of LA. It's an inviting spot with great customer service. Awesome food and very great portion sizes for some of its dishes. Annies gives you the Shirley's Place from "Whats Happening" TV Show mixed with the warmth of "Soul Food" movie. The side orders are all tasty with great main dishes that are hearty. From the time it's open to closed you'll see lots of folks getting their take-out or enjoying outside dinning. Annie is a gen to the community, participating in homeless drives for local churches and always resembling your face. Strong recommendation. The Ugly: Parking is fierce OK this little stripped that's near Lacienega, prepare to park up ans walk down. The outside dinning area presents the best option for seated tables while the inside is cool it's just busy with traffic. Portion size is great for majority if it's dishes but the Oxtails isn't as gracious. And last is I'm personally not a fan of the dinner ware as the take out dishes when dinning in, while it's convenient for those who wanna eat and go.. it takes away from the presentation when sitting down . Past but not least is opening time is at 12 which is typically lunch hour and prevents alot of business folks for ordering during break time to enjoy during their lunch hour.. All drawbacks however are reasonable for a small business that's up and coming .

Best soul food 😋 😍 I tried so far in my life. The menu it's enough for every one to find something you like. I have yet to tried the lobster tail. I tried s few sides honestly no complaints. This place serves good portions , you must come with an empty stomach because you are about to go for a good nap after this meal. Like a lion after it devours its pray. Also they get super busy. The servers girls is 😍 af. Caramel skin complexion with beautiful body and gorgeous eyes. Tip your servers good because I saw them hustling. Everything in my personal experience was above and beyond. I will be definitely recommending to all my family and friends. Also I saw they do catering which is awsome. I will definitely be using their services in the future.

Bro. I’m born and raised in the south in NC but I’ve lived in Cali for the last 10 years. This is the first legit soul food spot I’ve had. Oxtails was fire!! Mac was good and potato salad and yams were good. Wasn’t a fan of the cornbread muffins which I never understand why they’re muffins on the west coast. The shrimp and grits were amazing as well. My first time eating at Annie's and what I've come to realize is that most soul food establishments have the food but not the soul, meaning soul food is flavorful not just putting food together and you have to know how to mix your spices and when to add vinegar to give it that amazing kick. You HAVE to try this soul food!! It's heaven! Before today, my go-to soul food in Los Angeles was Marilyn's, which is hard to beat! But I'm gonna say it--This is the best soul food I've ever had, and the closest to home cooking, here in LA. My family is from Louisiana, so I'm used to good southern cooking. This food tasted just Like home- especially the cornbread dressing (perfection, add some gravy to it, lol!) and oxtails- delicious and tender-the juices so savory and flavorful you could drink it with a straw! The mac and cheese is also yummy (although not *quite* as good as Marilyn's, but still satisfying and cheesy comfort!), and the tiny cornbread muffins with butter are a freebie! Its a tiny bit pricier than Marilyn's (just a few books more...), but so totally worth it if you want some authentic soul food with great portion sizes, that tastes like home...you will not be sorry!😊👏👏

This is a friendly, new local place that offers traditional soul food prepared exquisitely. The oxtails and friend chicken are superb as are the mac and cheese and cabbage (if you can believe that!). I dined here recently with a good friend, her one and a half year old, and my husband on a Sunday afternoon. We gobbled up everything and had to get more friend chicken. The waitstaff was also very helpful with my friend's baby, stroller, etc.

The food was so tasty and not too salty or under seasoned like most places in Southern California. I live in SD and I will take the 2 hour drive for this food any day. Soul Delicious was bomb, went there for the first time! The only reason why I didn't give it a 5 star review is because I'm diabetic and the only option for a sugar free beverage was ice water, and the food was sooo salty! If they were to adjust those two things it would be outstanding! The sauce that came with the fish was so salty it was unedible! The greens were so salty, I was warned about it prior to ordering them. Let's talk about how yummy the dressing and gravy was! This was so salty that I couldn't even finish them and the batter for the fish was waaay salty too.. but sooo good and crispy and fried to perfection!
