Some of the best fish and chips can be found here. The batter was spot on and the fish was superb. There was a line out the door at lunch hour but the folks behind the counter never sacrificed the integrity of friendly and courteous customer service. We dined in and couldn't be happier with our experience.

I’ve been here several times. The fish and chips are great! This last time I had an Italian sub. It was pretty good but they forgot to add banana peppers. Would definitely return. Prices are reasonable and portions are good!

Delicious, fresh made food. Very original. Incredibly helpful and friendly staff. 2019-03-03 Update: After several more recent visits, I just need to expand on my original review... The food here is awesome. I find myself craving it every day, and frustrated that they aren't located closer to my home or office. From the fish and chips - the authenticity of which I cannot verify, but the deliciousness of which I can very much confirm - to the unique paninis, I love everything I've ever had here. I don't know if I have a favorite, but Ron's Reuben and the Beef and Onion Melt are both very unique and satisfying options that never seem to get old. Anticipation is always on the menu, too, at Union Jack's. While I typically like to call ahead for takeout, I spare the extra few minutes at UJ's for the face-to-face ordering, seeing the meat sliced to order and chatting with the most friendly staff around while my meal is assembled.

It was great, it's my first time to eat at this place. We ordered 12" sub Ham &Swiss, halved my mom use just yellow mustard while I use light on ranch and light on pickles so it won't overpowering ham and swiss flavor! It has other choices on menu that you might like!

Meh... didn't live up to the hype for me. Fish was fishy and old. Grease in fryer needed to be changed. Fries were greasy and gross and oh No curry sauce for fries because "they ran out and chef hasn't had time to make more"... Place was vacant when I was there. On a positive note the young guys working there were friendly but food fell short. Maybe an off day but won't be back.

Union Jacks is simply the best sandwich spot around Burlington, and possibly the best in all of New England. I’ve only been there twice, and have yet to try their famous fish n’ chips, but what I have tried is the beef and onion melt. Eating the beef and onion melt is like winning the lottery in your mouth. You’ll find it’s difficult to refrain from exclaiming with joy after every bite of this sandwich. Not only that, but the staff are always exceptionally friendly. If there is a god, there is no doubt in my mind that it is the beautiful bald man who made my sandwich, because Union Jacks is heaven. When my time comes, I kindly ask whoever is reading this to bury me in a casket full of beef and onion melts.

Absolutely the best and most authentic British fish and chips in the area. I highly recommend it! Perfectly crispy and greasy, just like you would hope for from your favorite shop. They even have curry sauce for the chips!

Lent just got sooo much better. Union Jacks fish and chips were absolutely delicious. I am going to say that their fish and chips were the best I have had in Burlington and maybe ever. Everything is fresh and no frozen item were apparent. Fresh fish which was dredged in it's coating immediately before hitting the hot oil. Their fries were thick cut with a crispy outside and creamy inside. The fish and chips were served with tartar sauce, malt vinegar and ketchup on the side. Ask for their curry sauce, delicious and better than many indian restaurants in our area. Great customer service and genuinely nice people behind the counter. Looking forward to having fish and chip here again soon.

Union Jack's is an extremely Fine Place to have fish and chips. We found the place to be quite clean and staff extremely friendly and helpful. I love trying out new sandwich shops wherever I am, so I decided to give this place a try since I was in the area. I'm sure glad I did, as the sub and chili I ordered were both out of this world. The deli meat was fresh and sliced in front of you, which you don't find often anymore. They had a wealth of toppings as well, and the decor was British themed, which I thought was very cool!

Immigrant from England. It was great to find a place that served a chip butty, even if the chips were a little on the fancy side. Honestly though, my favourite things about Union Jacks wasn't even the food, but the staff, the three young people they had running the place were amazingly friendly and efficient- far more so than I would have been at that age or even now! None were Brits, unfortunately, so I couldn't chat with them about England's mighty victory over Germany. But they ran the place like pros and I will be back.

I live within walking distance from this great little sandwich shop and I don't go there nearly enough. The staff are friendly, attentive and very hard working. The fish and chips are the best you will find in part of the state and that's not all their good at! They have some great vegetarian options and some fantastic daily specials. One day, I went in with a strong urge for a BLT but I decided to try their "Roast Beef and Onion Ring Melt" special. It was hands down one of the tastiest and most satisfying sandwiches I have ever eaten. Well done, Union Jacks! This place is worth the stop whether you're visiting Burlington for a day or looking for a quick and delicious sandwich on your lunch break.

I love coming to Union Jack's to eat. Everything you order is made on the spot. None of the meat or cheese is pre-sliced and the bread is baked in house. Their onion rings are also breaded and fried to order. With healthy portions I've enjoyed every meal I've had here. The only caution is that they can get busy at lunch time.

A very long time ago, Union Jack's was just another Blimpie's and I liked it better than Subway, but unfortunately it still had that same, flat, franchise vibe and flavor. I can't begin to even describe how wonderfully this place has evolved ever since they gave up the bland, boring, national franchise and carved out their own little, local, sandwich shop niche instead. They slice the meats and cheeses to order right in front of you. They somehow always manage to have the freshest tasting veggies, too. Ron and Shelley are the owners and are usually right there serving in the trenches for hungry lunchtime patrons with the rest of their very pleasant and cheerful crew. They make everything from subs to paninis and wraps. In addition to sandwiches, they also serve the most delicious, beer battered onion rings I've ever eaten, as well as very tasty fish and chips. Union Jack's always has great specials too and it has been well worth my gamble every time that I've tried a new special rather than sticking to just my favorites off of their regular menu. They also have a better selection of soft drinks than most other restaurants and are probably the only place in the area to have both Coca Cola and Pepsi products as well as some specialty brands, too. Union Jack's is definitely the number one sandwich shop in Burlington, if not all of Chittenden County, and I savor my every visit.

I have eaten hear at least once a week for the past 5 years. I'm into health and fitness, and my one cheat meal is with Union Jacks. The best way to describe Union Jacks is as a basic sub shop, but 25% more. It's 25% more food; 25% higher quality; 25% more expensive (but so worth it). Go for dinner to avoid out-the-door lunch lines - especially on Wednesday.
