Great local Sandro shop that has a lot of history in Boise. You know I love me a good Ruben and this one did not disappoint. Could use a little more meat but that’s the only bad thing I could say about it. This is a classic hole in the wall deli with clutter and a little messy which is part of its charm. I hope this deli continues to thrive in this messed up world. Bonus, you can get beer and wine here with your meal!

I've never had pastrami but after seeing a picture of the lapd, I had to try it! The sandwich did not disappoint, soft bread, meat was delicious, perfect amount of mustard and the pickles had the perfect flavor. The guy working the counter was so friendly and sweet, the cooks came up and were so helpful answering my questions. I absolutely recommend this place and this sandwich!

Deli George is the best!!! I've lived in Boise for a while and just never made it in to try their sandwiches, but since my first bite I've been hooked! Both my husband and I love it. We've been trying different sandwiches each time we go in and have been impressed every time. Definitely recommend the Turkey Over Italy and the BLTCA! 100% best sandwiches in town. The staff is super friendly and helpful and they always get the food out pretty quickly. Never had to wait over ten minutes. Love supporting this local gem.

Totally yummy. I catered an event with the "Complete" option and everything was so tasty and the attendees LOVED it. I can't believe that I'm from Boise and hadn't ever realized this gem of a sammy shop. Highly recommend, and even two days later I just enjoyed some leftovers that still taste delicious and fresh.

Holy moly - I've lived in Idaho most of my life and have somehow missed this gem. I rectified my mistake at the behest of a coworker and was very impressed. I got a Georgioso to go - and it's one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. The service was stellar, I got my food in a reasonable amount of time, and it is SO GOOD. Like, maybe a life changing sandwich level of good. I will 110% be back to try more of their offerings.

Family owened and operated deli. Extremely friendly staff and atmosphere. Owner was walking around making sure everything is as expected. He has owned it for a year. Had a beef dip and it was really good. I'd definitely come back. Only problem is it's a little hidden and hard to find.

This place is fantastic! I had the slow smoked brisket sandwich which was on a pretzel bun which was toasted. I in love with this sandwich. My friend got the buffalo chicken sandwich looked amazing as well. Make sure to get a cookie! They are huge and delicious! The staff is friendly and helpful! The decor is fun and super family friendly.

Enjoyed a TBA sandwich, beer and chips. The sandwich had a perfect combination of Turkey, bacon and avocado, the Nut Brown beer has great flavor. I like Newcastle and this is similar. Lots of options on the menu. And friendly staff.

5-Star deli is right! It's been ages since I've been here (their old location) and I've been missing out. We ordered several different sandwiches (Georgioso, Turkey Over Italy, Beef Dip) and they were all fantastic. Great bread, great meats, and when it all comes together, it's all somehow better than just about any deli/sandwich shop I've been to. One additional comment meant to be constructive...bathrooms could use some updating or at least some sprucing up.

This is one of my boyfriend’s and my favorite places to eat in Boise (and it’s really close to the VA, which is a plus for us when he has his appointments). Absolutely delicious food. The ingredients they use are high-quality and they put a lot of ingredients on their sandwiches. The staff has always been friendly and accommodating. The cookies (especially the lemon flavored ones!) taste as though they’re homemade. Definitely recommend if you’re on the area!

Luckily I came in just before the lunch crowd as I have been told it gets packed. The service is outstanding. They are very helpful and make sure you are doing ok and everything is tasting great even though you do not have a server. I got the Bacon Steakin mushroom sandwhich based on a recommendation from a co-worker. It was fantastic! A very large, full of flavor sandwich. I dont think you will be disappointed.

I love this place. The food is soooooo fantastic. Best ingredients, best quality, best flavor. I have never eaten something here that I didn’t like, and most of it I love. From a 100% food experience perspective, you are just not going to get a better sandwich. If you do, you must be looking for something in your sandwich that’s very unique to yourself. All of that being said, the reason I give this place 4 stars instead of 5 is: - Deli George is NOT fast food, particularly during the lunch rush. For my last lunch visit, I waited (and I can prove it) 40 minutes for my 4 takeout sandwiches. What I learned: If you have the ability, order ahead. If you’re looking for efficiency in your lunch experience, you need to go across the parking lot to Chick-fil-A. - It’s more expensive than your run-of-the-mill deli sandwich. If you consider Subway a source for good sandwiches, you will not be happy with Deli George prices. But if you can recognize quality, you’ll find it worth the price.

We just ate here for the first time. Service was fast, and pleasant. We loved the Bacon Steakin' mushroom sandwich. Our kids loved the turkey bacon avocado sandwich. Five year old said, "The best sandwich I ever had in my life! You gotta try this!" We highly recommend and wish we lived closer so we could try other sandwiches, too!

This deli really is the only 5 star deli in Boise! Today I had the Turkey over Italy and it was beyond amazing. The chibata bread alone was full of herbs and flavor. Tons of high quality turkey cheese and veggies finished it out. It is now difficult for me to want to consider for paying for any lesser sandwich at any other sandwich restaurant.

Deli George has always been a favorite of mine and they continue to be one of the best sandwich shops in Boise. They've got cold sandwiches, hot sandwiches, salads, beer, and great service. Their Reuben is very classic and very delicious, I highly recommend it. You can't go wrong with any choice though. Definitely give Deli George a try!

I'd had Deli George as a catering option before and was impressed, but actually going in person was even better. They have hot and cold sandwiches, and the sides are excellent as well. I got the chicken bacon ranch grilled sandwich, and the chicken meat totally filled up the sandwich. Only one slice of bacon, but it was excellent - cooked right, and was the length of the sandwich itself, so you got a bite of bacon throughout. Got that and a side of pasta salad (my favorite) for under $10. Left with half the sandwich still remaining - plenty of food!

Deli George is a Boise staple, and for good reason; delicious sandwiches. It all starts with their house baked bread and cured meats, which they use to make pretty much any sandwich you can think of. Looking for something warm? Go for the Ruben or the French dip. Cold sandwich on a hot day? The Turkey over Italy is a city wide favorite. My go-to? The Two timing turkey. It never fails to satisfy. Really, this place should be called Delicious George.

Oh my gosh! Their food is to die for. By far my favorite sandwich place! You won't regret eating here. The portions are generous and the food is always fresh. The price is good. I just wish they had better hours. We are rarely in the area when they're open. It makes it hard to eat here often. Good for my waistline but not for their business haha.

The food and atmosphere was great! Lots of choices on the menu. I also liked liked that they had a giant container of plain water, but with lemon and cucumber infused as an option for just having water. Everyone was so nice. The only thing I'd say is I paid 8-9 dollars for my sandwich and it didn't come with anything at all, just the sandwich. Otherwise, can't complain.

Great family owned lunch spot. Wonderful assortment of sandwiches and salads for any eclectic taste. Nice soups for the winter also. Breads and fixings are all fresh and premium, which makes up for the fact that an entree and beverage is going to run you around $10. But don't be cheap. This is good food served by great, hard-working people. Not fast food or "subway" alternative. My elderly uncle loves it here. Relatively quiet and "homey" atmosphere.

I was not impressed with the New York, New York sandwich. The deli mustard was to horseradish tasting. I asked if they could make another one and they did, which was awesome of them. So the customer service is great. The pastrami has to much of a basil taste, which I'm not a fan of. I'll go back but do something more traditional next time.

Visited for the first time today and what a pleasant surprise. I got a chicken focaccia grill sandwich and it was fantastic. Fresh, hot and delicious. Wonderful bread topped with rosemary. I will definitely be back! I 'm a complete food snob and if I could find any fault with the food I would mention it. Service was good and staff seemed friendly as well.

Went here for the first time the other day for lunch. The local, family owned feel is prominent. Prices are really pretty expensive, however, and I wish I had known just how much before coming here with my coworkers on our lunch hour. Tip: get a cold sandwich to cut down on the cost. I was expecting a $10 hot sandwich to at least come with a drink or bag of chips. Pretty steep. I understand that you’re getting fresh ingredients and lots of meat. The chicken on my “Chicken Cheddar Bacon Ranch” sandwich was wayyyy too charred for my liking, making the entire sandwich taste burnt. Overall, I’m not going to avoid Deli George, but it probably won’t be a weekly thing for me.

Just went there today for the first time with my boyfriend. We literally do not have a single complaint about our visit. They have so many incredible, delicious, diverse sandwiches to choose from. I was kind of overwhelmed so I just got the chicken salad sandwich- DELISH! My boyfriend got their daily special and he was also very pleased with it. All the food is made with quality ingredients and they are so good at pairing/balancing flavors. This is the kind of place where you order at a counter but they bring the food to your table. I ordered a cup of soup and they brought it to me promptly, not to mention the soup (sweet potato & pumpkin) was amazing. Despite it being a busy lunch hour our sandwiches came out pretty quickly and the servers are very good about asking how you are doing or how your food was. They also offer to clear your tables, a very nice touch. You really feel like a valued customer there. All around amazing place, we are going back for sure!

The Food, Atmosphere, and Service was Very Good.. But Honestly the Prices are to High.. I had the Rubin, great flavor, but the bread over powered the Meat as there wasn't much there. Had it be a $5 or $6 sandwich then it might have been a better value..

I had never heard of this place when I was told by a long-time customer of 'Deli George!' to apply there. I did and was hired. Working here turned my world upside-down. Never before had I worked in such a caring and pleasant environment. There were certainly challenges, but I constantly felt as much a beloved customer, as I did an important part of the team. I believe many of the customers feel this way also. Just go in a couple of times and see how quickly they learn your name and show a genuine interest in your life outside of the restaurant walls. The food is... -excellent-. I personally preferred the hot sandwiches (favorite:a modified Kuna Cheese Steak dubbed the Mean Dean Canadian Cheese Steak), but there is something there for everyone, even if you have to build it from the ground up. Not one time did I hear a complaint about the food. This is the best lunch joint in town, I guarantee it.

Out of all my travels for business or pleasure, Deli George is hands-down the best sandwich place in the entire western United States, including WA, OR, CA, ID, UT, CO, MT. Hole-in-the-wall deli where the locals eat, and yes, the sign is upside-down on purpose. I recommend the Boise Cheesesteak sandwich. A local favourite.

I was so pleasantly surprised and overwhelmed! I had never been in before and made a last minute decision to stop by. We got the chicken focaccia and the malibu chicken sandwich. The bread was fresh, the chicken juicy, the pesto delicious and the honey mustard divine! I will be going back and I am so glad I know about this local gem.

I've lived in Boise for seven years and always wondered, "What's with the upside down sign deli place?". Well, I found out today. It is Uh-maz-ing! The food speaks for itself, but the service is what will keep me coming back! Not only did I meet George, I also met his lovely sister, Rosie. Along with a free chocolate chip cookie for us "kids," we got the whole back story of the deli and Mama Erma's restaurant. Such a great place! But back to the food.... that bread.... oh, my! Soooo good!!! I can't wait to try more on the menu. That chocolate chip cookie was easily the best I've ever had (sorry, Mom)!
