Bittersweet catered my anniversary party and they made everything very easy for me. They helped with all of my dietary requests and made sure the place was set up beautifully. The service at the party was excellent, the food was a hit, and our venue was very happy with the clean up. Thank you so much Bittersweet!

Where do we start?! We had a fantastic experience with Bittersweet catering while choosing them to cater our wedding. We loved that their menu was endless and we could taylor it to our taste and vision for our brunch themed wedding. Jeffrey Allen was amazing and literally our fairy godfather putting together and exquisite menu and making it a reality! Our guests are still raving about how good the food was as well as compliments on the rehearsal dinner that was also catered by Bittersweet. Outstanding service, excellent quality of food and wonderful friendly staff. We will use them to cater all of our hosting events from now on!

We had a fantastic experience with Bittersweet catering while choosing them to cater our wedding! We loved that their menu was customizable for our garden party wedding. Their menu is very diverse and allowed us to choose the food that we love. Our favorites were the baked brie and buffalo chicken dip.

We were finally having a big family get together outside! Decided to do a picnic by the river! Bittersweet provided all of the food and even the lemonade! We had a huge selection of delicious gourmet sandwiches (and they even included some vegan and gluten-free ones for some of my kids.) Then, the assortment of side salads were all amazing- so delicious! The cookies were terrific too! It was a great event- thanks to the efforts of Bittersweet! I strongly recommend them!

Jody Tarbox did an outstanding job with our 35 year anniversary party. She was extremely patient and helpful as we worked through MANY iterations of our menu. We had some unique requests which Jody made happen without batting an eye. The day of the event went off perfectly. Jody and her excellent crew arrived on time, did a great job setting up the event and managed the rest of the night with extreme professionalism. The food was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. This is the second time we've used Bittersweet Catering and will definitely call you for all our catering needs.

My company has meeting every month and Bittersweet is our go to catering company. As the whole team is awesome, my go to Catering Sales Representatives are Jody Tarbox and Lee Intachi. These ladies are the best. They always provide exceptional service. They are willing to go the extra mile to make sure your experience is well worth it. Because of them, my company always want to order with Bittersweet. Not only are they professional but I have contacted them at the last minute to place an emergency order and they always try their best to accommodate me. Also, I love how they take the extra mile in contacting me around the time of our monthly meeting. That really means a lot. They have become more then just our catering company but more like great friends. I have recommended them to some of my coworkers for there personal events and they were completely blown away with there service. Not only does Bittersweet have exceptional food but they are lucky to have Jody and Lee as wonderful sales reps! Great Jobs Ladies!!! Much appreciated!!

I highly recommend Bittersweet Catering! They were absolutely fantastic helping me with my mom’s 50th birthday weekend celebration. I asked for photos of the cake during the quote and they were quick to assist me and answer my questions. Jody & Rachel were great. They even were helping me as I was stressing over my flight being delayed and rolled with the punches. Very flexible and kind and the cake was DELICIOUS! My mom was raving and it was perfect. Recently I made a 1/2 sheet cake catering order through Bittersweet and I cannot express my gratitude enough for how much of a great experience I had! The ordering process was very fast and efficient, the pick up was also done very fast and efficient (finding the place might seem a little tricky but its right next to a SweetGreen shop, in an alley with free parking as well). The cake was made for my honor society and the flavors of the chocolate/white chocolate mousse were so decadent... my words cannot do justice! Kudos to all of the employees at Bittersweet catering who have helped create such delicious food for us, I can tell they are all very talented and hardworking. You have successfully found customers for life from our honor society. Hope to order from you all again soon.

I don't get some of the comments here, the breakfast we had was pretty good here. The atmosphere is quite nice as the building is historic and decorated nicely. The coffee was surprisingly good and nice and bold. The food was good, though the potatoes were a bit bland. The southwest scramble was otherwise excellent with nice flavors and spice on the salsa and eggs. Not a bad choice for a fairly quick breakfast.

I've been a customer and fan of Bittersweet since they first opened waaaay back when! My co-workers and I regularly went there for lunch and were never disappointed. One of my job duties is to arrange for a variety of catering events, and I always choose Bittersweet -- in fact, I don't consider any other caterer when doing so. Our guests are consistently wowed by the food (it's absolutely super fresh, delicious and creatively done) -- from sandwiches to salads to their scrumptious desserts. The team at Bittersweet are very responsive when handling orders, invoicing or replying to questions -- nothing is too major or too minor for them! I've also asked them to create some bespoke items -- cookies with our logo and a sponsor's logo one time -- that had guests gushing. Everything is always -- I've been doing this for a long time, so I mean ALWAYS -- on time or ahead of schedule and perfect -- gotta love their delivery staff! Simply put: Great food, extremely well done; exemplary, friendly customer service; unsurpassed service.

Rachel Capellari and her team did a fantastic job for a wedding on the Cherry Blossom riverboat. Rachel was very helpful and responsive from beginning until end. The food tasted as great at the tasting as on the celebration day. Bittersweet chefs honored our request for them to learn and make West African fried plantains. Also, they eagerly served another West African snack that we brought for the reception.

We cannot say enough about how awesome Bittersweet Catering was for us. We hosted a party for 70 at our home, and Rachel led the planning and execution for our function. The menu options were amazing, and we quickly settled on a diverse menu of passed and stationed hors d'oeuvres. My amazing wife, Taylor K, picked the menu in conjunction with Rachel's recommendations...and it turned out so very well. The crab dip was fantastic, the chicken dish incredible - and the mini-quiches and other choices were beautifully done and presented. We set up a bar outside - Barack manned the bar in chilly weather, and had an uncanny knack for anticipating what people would want. So fast and efficient. We also had them provide heaters for the 2 terraces to keep it warm enough - they handled all rentals seamlessly. Bittersweet is now our go-to for catering. Customers for life.

Love these guys! I use them for everything! We host events at my office at a minimum of 10 times a month, and Bittersweet is our exclusive caters. From simple breakfasts to complex white table clothed dinners - they are exceptional. Price just right - and service is amazing. Get the brownie bites - you won't be disappointed!

Most people take the time to write reviews when they had a very poor, or very good experience. This one is a positive one. I recently went to Bittersweet for the Sunday brunch buffet. Absolutely delicious, and the price was great too! An employee gave me ample information on the food and I loved the brunch experience there. For regular foods (non-brunch), it isn't anything spectacular; you can only get so creative with sandwiches, soups and salads. Oh yeah, and cupcakes....

Jody and her team were very easy to work with from start to finish. The company is family owned and operated and it shows. From the moment we contacted Bittersweet for a tasting, they went the extra mile to ensure that we were fully aware of all our options regarding setup, teardown, menu, and equipment. They did not push us into a deal and, at every opportunity, looked for ways to streamline and reduce the cost of the event without sacrificing quality. Rest assured that on your big day, Bittersweet will make it a success and you won’t have to be looking over their shoulder. They worked around the congested floor plan at our large family wedding and found ways to streamline traffic flow at the buffet and bar. We truly cannot say enough about their exceptional customer service. We came in with a basic idea of what we wanted and they made great suggestions that made for a beautiful and tasty summer southern food buffet. Bittersweet also made our wedding cake - and we still have people telling us that it was the best cake they've ever had. The price was much more reasonable than going with a separate baker, the cake was beautiful, the guests loved it, and having one less vendor to worry about is a win! These folks go the extra mile - even during the teardown, the Bittersweet staff held on to some misplaced personal items and ensured they were returned to their rightful owners. If you’re looking to do business in Old Town, look no further than Bittersweet Catering.

Bittersweet Catering is wonderful! I had searched for a while for a caterer for our budget wedding. Jody was the first person to sit down, talk and reach a realistic budget and great meal plan and ideas. They helped with set up, chairs, food, displays, rehearsal dinner, and so much beyond just providing food. They helped make our wedding day an amazing event. Above and beyond! I would recommend Bittersweet to anyone looking for a fun and quality catering service with budget options anywhere from the small to the extravagant. You deal with real people who are working with you for your event and NOT trying to get every penny out of you. Location is excellent. Staff are practical, creative, and professional. Food and display was tasty and beautiful. Our wedding cake was lovely. Overall opinion: they were one of the highlights at our wedding. Thank you Bittersweet Catering!

I can't begin to thank Lee and Jody for doing such a lovely job for our 50th Anniversary celebration on the 24th of February. the food was delicious and well presented and several of our friends asked for the name of the caterer and I just happened to have Bittersweet's brochure with me that I shared. Lee was such a doll to come out see our site for herself and between us, we made it all work. Although we used another source for our plates, glasses, etc, Lee and Jody ensured that all was cleaned properly and ready to be picked up the following Monday. Our church staff said that all was left in apple pie order, so they were pleased to let me use the space in our Activity Center. The "leftovers" were packed nicely and were devoured by our family later that evening once we were home and put our feet up, so to speak. I can honestly say that I never worried about anything once Bittersweet arrived on the scene and let Lee and Jody talk care of everything. They are the best. Many thanks for a job well done. I have been going to Bittersweet Cafe for over a year now and have never once been disappointed. They go out of their way to keep the food fresh and the customer happy. The sandwiches are great, the lemonade is amazing, and the cupcakes are a real treat. I highly recommend them to anyone in the area looking for a good neighborhood spot.

Their hot bar is great. They have daily menus that change with the month. If you don't see anything you like you can't go wrong with the sandwiches either (they can custom make one if you don't see anything on that menu that you want, either). Cupcakes are on point (although the small ones can be a bit dry, but that's to be expected given their tiny size). My dog goes crazy for the "pupcakes" too. The staff here are very nice too. Locally owned and operated, the owners are often in the restaurant.
