We went to 2 dealerships before coming into Ron Tonkin Honda. Ron Tonkin was the only environment that made us feel comfortable, and they even offered us beverages! Huge props to Bao who immediately called us when shipment came in!! Cheng came in on his day off, and was so helpful in the buying process. His background knowledge in Toyota really helped us weigh out the differences between the cars we wanted. He laid out every step, answered all our enticing questions with grace. Some places in the area "believe in nice" but maybe there's more to sales? Perhaps "genuine" and "truthful" and "customer service" are words we should hear more of. We had accidentally received a mailer intended for a former resident advertising a special for an oil change, and when we started talking about car shopping again, we thought why not start at Ron Tonkin. Serena was a breath of fresh air, from the moment we met until I returned a few days later with a thank you box of crackers, I regret absolutely nothing about our choice to do business at Ron Tonkin Honda. We were open about our prior negative experiences elsewhere, she could relate, and we established an amazing repoire. We came in with two cars (Honda Fit and Cadillac ATS), downsizing to one and looking for an upgrade while we were at it. Honda delivered beautifully. We are so incredibly pleased with our 2022 Honda Accord Touring Hybrid. Have an appointment for a protective product service and will be returning to the service department for our regular maintenance as well. Love being your customers! Keep it up!

Highly recommend Ron Tonkin Honda! I was coming from 4 hours away to look at an HR-V so I was nervous about the experience I would have if I decided to buy it. Since I wouldn't be around the corner if anything went wrong. But could not believe how smooth things went. Dave met us at the front door and took care of us every step of the way. He was not pushy at all and gave us all the time we needed. Really appreciated his calm and patient demeanor. Evan took care of the loan (at .99%!) He did awesome too. Came in for my appointment for an oil change and was seen right away. The advisor, Tyler, was super helpful and made sure my needs were met. What normally would be estimated to take about an hour due to workload and other factors, the tech, Jhoan, and Tyler were able to get me out and to work in time in half that! No, pressure, made me feel comfortable at the showroom and he showed me around and guided us through the available cars there. I must say that this was my best car shopping experience ever. We drove our 2023 Honda Ridgeline RTL from Portland to Fernandina Beach, FL a 3,000-mile drive for a 6-day adventure. Had an overall good experience at Ron Tonkin. Got the car i wanted in a color i love (a 2023 Honda Passport Trailsport in the Sonic Gray), at what seemed like a fair price (based on my own research). David was very professional and down to earth. Not pushy at all. It was a very smooth transaction and i drove away with my new car in about an hour. He was great! I will say to be careful of being talked into a lease. Based on my needs (i'm looking to move to an AWD EV that can tow 3500 lbs, but waiting for more affordable options) that is what another sales person (Nadiia) at Ron Tonkin recommended to me, but once they showed me the numbers it didn't make any sense for me at all. I would have been paying approximately an extra $17k over 3 years. I'd rather take my chances on the depreciation. The best option for me would have been a certified pre-owned Passport (which Nadiia also mentioned), but unfortunately i don't like the style prior to 2022 since they did a redesign for the 2022 model. Leases are probably a big money maker for the dealership and i'm sure they make sense for some folks, but not for me. However, i will say i did not feel like i was being pressured into a lease, just that i was guided in the direction early on. So as with any interaction at a dealership, you always have to look out for yourself - do your research and know what your needs are.

Just bought a Honda here, and overall it was truly a decent experience. I haven't owned or bought a vehicle in around 19 years so I was used to the sleazy salesman sterotype. However I wasn't surrounded like vultures with a piece of meat and given any high pressure to buy. I had been researching what i wanted and had my max price set prior to even stepping foot on the lot. Of course the standard upsell was done to try to sell me many extra accessories but the sales staff and such were transparent and not pushy or overbearing. I would absolutely purchase from here again.

Daniel McKennie was my sales rep. He, and his sales partner Teresa, helped me track down a 22 CRV Touring Hybrid. I got there right away, and we closed the deal quickly. Jeff W was my finance person, also terrific. I bought this car during a particularly difficult period in my personal life. At one point, I excused myself to go outside and gather myself. Daniel was great about it. Gave me the space I needed to move forward without calling attention to it. And, he’s super knowledgeable about Honda products - we’ve owned more than a dozen, so I’d know. Unfortunately, corporate made a sexist choice and sent my buying survey to my husband’s email address. My husband’s name isn’t on ANY of the paperwork, he’s not on the title of the car, he wasn’t with me when I bought the car, and I have my own customer number. What a completely arrogant and thoughtless choice. I hate that even when a local dealership gets everything right, corporate can still harm the customer relationship. I've been in the market for a car for the past three months, calling dozens of dealers (Honda, Ford, Toyota), test drove several cars, talked with many salesman. I've run across all types of dealers (pressure to buy now and buy used, constantly calling and texting me, pressuring me to add options I don't need, adding INSANE markups, etc.) and I was absolutely fed up with car salesmen. After reaching out to Ron Tonkin Honda, Marco Sanchez, was the salesman to help me. I was VERY happy with Marco's sales style. I never felt pressured here, there was no dealer markup, they weren't pushy and were very informative for different Honda offerings. I don't know the sales style of the other salesman there but I am grateful to have purchased my car through them. The manager was also very helpful, informative and non-pushy. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of the manager that went through the purchasing paperwork with me but this Honda dealer is very professional, very considerate and you have no idea how much I appreciate that. Its hard to find a good dealer, and its harder to find a good salesman. Marco showed great honesty and professionalism in the whole car search and buying process. I'll be looking forward to buying more cars in the future from this dealer.

I was able to use a service coupon which saved me about 40%! The waiting area is clean and spacious, and the check-out process was friendly and efficient. When your car's done, they give you a sheet that details and color codes the "health" of various components of your car which is great and in my experience, small-shop, non-certified service centers do not provide this. I will definitely take my CR-V back there for the next scheduled maintenance.

Took advantage of a deal for a bundle of 3 oil changes, so even though they aren’t the closest place to my house, it’s worth the drive. Good waiting area, beverages, plenty of seating and Wi-Fi. So, buying a car at this time with the inventory shortage is definitely challenging however Ron Tonkin Honda and especially Tait Hanson made the buying experience positive. We gave our requirements to Tait and he kept an eye out for a vehicle that matched our needs and gave us call when one was allocated and we put a refundable deposit down on it. During the waiting process of build and transit, Tait provided timely and informative updates. People here are nice, but each time we had our car serviced here there were issues and excuses. There was especially poor communication on how long service would take. Most recently we were told one hour for the service. When we checked in, they said it was almost done. After another hour and a half we checked in and they again said it was almost done, but it was another 45 minutes. We understand service time isn’t an exact science but surely you could give a reasonable estimate. Each service has been a similar experience with one instance us having to call them to remind them that we needed the car back before they closed. Additionally it seems all their systems are outdated and the team working seems equally frustrated with the issues that causes for everyone. Now that it has we’ve had three bad experiences, we won’t be returning.

John Hill from the first phone call I had about my new Civic was nothing but helpful. Really transparent over the phone about the car, about everything I need before I drove up to Portland and made sure to have my file ready for when I arrived. There was a bit of confusion, and hesitancy on signing a backup contract due to it being my first car-buying experience but John and the financial guy were able to assure me and my family and solve the issue pretty fast. I wish they were able to identify our hesitancies earlier in the process rather than have us sit out in the showroom for about an hour but everything got handled and settled eventually. I was the opposite of excited to have to car shop, with the microchip shortage and used cars being super pricey, but after a totaling accident I didn't have a choice. I started at Ron Tonkin just for a test drive, and was paired up with Tait Hanson. Tait took such respectful and fun care of me from the start. I did some test drives at a handful of dealerships around town and was pretty mortified by some of my experiences.
