I had a very positive experience purchasing a vehicle from JD byryder in Des Moines. They sell good cars unlike car hop with no guarantees and junk. They do oil changes free, they walk you through every step of the way work with you in payment you want in your budget not what they want. They don't just say this is all we can give you put you in a car and take your money. They listen to what you want for vehicles and price and work with you to make it work. They walk you through every step of process. I highly recommend anyone who wants customer service and quality vehicle at a fair price to go here.

I went there with a low down payment and they helped me every step of the way. Customer service was great. ***EDIT*** It’s been almost a year, and my car is still running great! Unfortunately with my schedule, and living so far away, I can’t get in for oil changes so I have been taking them some place locally. This is the only downfall that I can’t take advantage of the free oil changes, but it is great that they offer it! Still overall 5 stars. My credit was bad when I bought the car, and it has helped my credit by reporting to all credit bureaus! 2023- My SUV is still running great, besides normal up keep its still running great!

Excellent service! The lady quoted me one price but got a good surpise when the completed job came in for alot cheaper. They also showed concerns about the tires and when I need to bring it back in for them to be service. They have done numerous repairs on my car . I feel they never took advantage of me. The prices are very reasonable. The service lady knew what she is talking about when it comes to issues with my car. I have no complaints with the service I get. I am came into JDByrider in hopes of getting financed for a car but didn't have my hopes up to high. Before covid, I had an almost 700 credit score but then covid hit pretty hard. The car I had was totaled last winter. I bought a used truck only to have the engine blow up on me. I had been turned down left and right at other dealerships. I had an appointment with Jeff Adams. He took down my info, I talked with the onsight bank and they were able to work with me. I was so relieved. No more lyft/uber rides and depending on friends for rides. Was kinda leery about going to jd byrider I've had my vehicle for 7 months put 30k plus miles on it as I travel for my job. I was in medford oregon and my transmission went out and I thought I was screwed as there is not a jd byrider anywhere close not. So I called the service department and spoke with Jessica and I can't say anything but that she was super awesome. Not only did she coordinate with the transmission shop she found one and had it shipped to the shop the next day. My friend told me about Byrider when I needed a good car. She said that they treated her right and they've been so very good to me. These folks take care of me like family and I tell everyone I can, go to Byrider. My car's tires needed replacing and I told the Service Manager my price range and he was extremely helpful by explaining the different options and making it very easy to choose the best tires for my needs. By coincidence the day of my appointment to get my new tires installed a huge blizzard dumping 12 and a half inches of snow on the city. By the time my car was finished we already received 6 inches. I left worried about skills maneuvering the roads and my anxiety was rapidly swept away. My drive handled like it had 4-wheel drive! Go to Byrider, you'll be glad you did!

Referred by Lamarr Motley's experience, I decided to go in and check things out. I was somewhat apprehensive because I just wanted to see what the numbers were immediately. I hadn't planned the time for what turned out to be a presentation. Keep in mind that my experience with dealerships were nearly non-existent until today. Mr. Selmer (Cody) came out to the parking lot to greet me. I usually buy a car off Craigslist, so I was expecting a pushy salesman. Cody was hardly the pushy salesman. What was suppose to be a looksie turned into me test driving 3 of the interested vehicles. The one I kept the longest turned out to be the one I am with. I am impressed with the maintenance program. Oil changes done for you and the regular maintenance on the vehicle makes me owing it nearly worry free. I will say that I would have offered 5 stars but the presentation at the end gave me a moment of pause. My suggestion would be that one of the sales people do the presentation at the end. Not necessarily the one I started with, but someone with finesse of getting the deal to the end to take it across the finish line. Otherwise, Kudos to Mr. Selmer!

I was a little apprehensive about using a Buy Here Pay Here type of car dealership but because of personal reasons my options were very limited. You always here some awful stories about the employees/staff being rude or non-attentive or the car(s) breaking down merely days after you drive it off the lot so I was definitely cautious. Not here, the staff was absolutely amazing which took me by surprise!!! From the owner to the Meghan S. who helped us through the whole process from start to finish. She was great! They're willing to go the extra mile to make sure you leave with an affordable plan and a good car. Not to mention they service all your car needs right there! The process took longer than expected but it was well worth the wait. *UPDATE 7/28/2018* Still have my car from J.D. Still running ok. One thing I have noticed, which probably goes with any company, they'll leave you alone if you make your payments on time. I use to get courtesy calls just to see how the car is running etc. Not anymore. Like I said before I was limited on my options to purchase a car. I can't wait to get my car paid off that's for sure!!!

Think the only down side is the jetta I wanted was being serviced pick it up if it's still there deffs a solid car other then that got a great price for my trade in even got a credit because they knew I wanted the jetta just to make it up to me all and all solid guys solid place don't spaz too hard if the car your buying is a little over blue book these guys put alot of work into the cars in the lot and they stand by that with a 48k mile warranty.

Pretty good experience. Ended up leaving with a beautiful new Equinox! Only issue was with the salesman who was assisting us. He wouldn't answer any of the questions we had about the vehicles until the entire approval process went through. From the moment I walked in the doors I felt at ease and comfortable. Our sales person Nicole helped us get into a new 2011 Chevy traverse. She was amazing, friendly and actually listened to us she herd what we needed and what we could afford. The finance people helped come up with a payment we were comfortable with. They gave us much more than what we were expecting for our trade in. Now this review wouldn’t hold much value if it ended there because it’s easy to say it was a great buying experience which is why I waited a week to leave a review. What matters most, is not just the buying of the vehicle, but what comes after you sign and drive off with the vehicle. It’s a used vehicle so keep that in mind, problems are bound to happen you would hope not as soon as you drive off the lot or shortly after but in our case that’s what happened. The next day we got a check engine light on we took it in but by time we got there the light was off. They said to bring it back if it came back on which a few days later it did. We took it back on Monday they tell us it may be our CAT converter and to take it to their guy who takes care of that for them. (Yes by this time we were frustrated and started wondering if we made the right choice) the next day my husband was planning on taking it in after work, he didn’t make it because the battery light came on and than the car died. (Another thing really!!) we called again and they ended up towing it to the shop, at their cost, and provided us with a car to use, which we signed an agreement saying we would never expect that but since it was all happening in such a short time after getting the SUV they took care of us. The next thing we were worried about was of course the money already needing to be put into this car; however, they assured us this wouldn’t cost us anything since it’s been so soon after. We also were wanting to get put into something else so we went there today to talk to Mike the GM face to face and he listened and not once did he try to make excuses he was understanding and made it clear that if he was having doubts about the SUV he would get us into something else but he still believed it was a good vehicle. In fact he was just talking to the service department about it before we walked in. Even with everything happening we are still glad we chose JD Byrider because they have done nothing but treat us with respect and compassion. They helped squash our fears and anxiety not by giving excuses but by listening and understanding and explaining! I would recommended anyone to come to this place they know how to treat their customers!!

My experience with J.D. Byrider was good. I say good and not great because we weren't able to get exactly what we wanted but we did leave with a decent vehicle that would get me to and from work with no problem. The pros are great creadit in the end, affordable payments I mean if you budget well and free oil changes! Cons well affordable payments yet if you're paying for daycare, cable, any other wants/necessities then budget, you may not get the car you want with little down payment but other than that you're dealing with people who will help you when not a lot of others will. Hope this helps. Samantha was great and they do understand your situation and will work with you to get you into something.

1 year later after buying my vehicle I had an issue with the intake manifold gasket. I called the service department and spoke with Jessica. I was grateful to hear it would be covered under warranty and set the appointment. When I arrived, I told Brian about another issue with the oil dipstick and within 5 hours they replaced the gaskets, changed my oil and replaced the oil dipstick and it cost me $15.69. If this doesn’t make you buy here, what will??

I loved the presentation and the program benefits. I'm 52 years old been through a lot, and this is the first car I've ever purchased on my own. I was very nervous. My salesman Cody made me very comfortable. So much so I let my guard down. I love the car I got, however Cody made my guard drop down so far that I was taken advantage of. It's my fault because I was so inexperienced but I was sold a car priced $4,000 over the blue book value. I do not like that I was taken advantage of, considering I told them that this was the first time I'd ever gone through this process. My husband passed away October of 2016 and then lost my boyfriend to canser September of 2018. Excellent service on my vehicle repairs they were able to get me in without an appointment which was wonderful all in of itself, but I had recently had a single coil pack changed at another location and had been charged close to $300. This was less than 2 months ago so I was in a panic when it happened again and was advised all 4 should have been done at the same time. At this point knowing that a second one was needed and the recommendation was to do the remaining 3...I Fearfully (I know that 300x3=900) asked what it was going to cost...seriously before I could brace myself I was told that the total for all 3 would be less than $250...not each but total! Not only that but it would only take about an hour to have them done (I spent hours waiting on the first one)! They were true to there word and went above and beyond to make the process as painless as possible!

My car was messing up on my way to work today it wouldn’t go pass 20 mph 😩but luckily jd byrider service department was open at 7 am. They told me that it would be $175 to get it fixed. I only had my car payment money which was $194 I talked to Tina who was really nice and understanding she dropped the price really low because she could tell that I was stressing out about it. I went to talk to CNAC about my payment and how I didn’t have it and was missing work because of this she talked to the service dept and they did it for free. I’m so thankful for people understanding that life happens and sometimes you can’t help it.I’m just happy that these ladies helped me today😊

Got financing for a vehicle, but they never tell you a price of any vehicle on the lot till they have your in a room with a loan and papers drawn up. You can keep asking the price but the sales person will not or they themself doesnt know the price either.I find that very deceiving. It's like they set the price on what they think they can get out of you. A more honest business practice would clearly have a set price on each vehicle. I'm happy with the warranty 36 month 36000 miles
