Good experience, too bad that it took almost 3 weeks for our new vehicle that's still under warranty to get in for service..They need to hire more service technicians..

Shane Sutton was very helpful and professional. His class on how to work all the bells and whistles on the car was outstanding. He was very thorough and patient, which my wife and I both appreciated. The day I picked up the car was the first day I met Shane in person, and it was the first time I was on your lot, so I didn't have much time to form an opinion. I will say I did have the feeling I was in a circa 1960's dealership. We were introduced to I assume was the Sales Manager and he was very friendly, and I think sincere. Later, however, when your appraiser low balled my 2015 Odyssey ($17K) trade-in. I told Shane that was unacceptable. I showed Shane two online appraisals for $19+K and $20K+. These appraisals were from CarMax and Kelly Blue Book. Well, then we began the "I'll take it to the Sales Manager and see what he says" routine. I haven't bought a car in this fashion for 30 years, and I didn't enjoy it. We finally reached a mutually agreeable trade in value of $19.5K and all was well.
Also, a several other issues I would like to mention. As I mentioned above, I was never onsite until I picked up the car. Once I found the car on the Buick website and saw it was in transit, I contacted your dealership and spoke with Shane. We pretty much made the deal, except for the trade in value, and Shane said he would send me some documents to review and sign. When I received them, I noticed a charge for "simonize" of $1,299.00. I told Shane I didn't want this and he said it was non-negotiable. I think this item should definitely be optional or listed on the window sticker. Also, among the papers Shane sent me was a credit card form to cover my $1,000 deposit. At the time Buick was offering 0% interest. I was told my car was due in on 10/6/22, then 10/29/22 then 11/9/22. The car was received by Ricart on 11/7/22. Unfortunately, Buick's 0% offer expired 10/31/22. Since I had placed a deposit on the car in September, I should have been grandfathered in to the 0% offer. As for the $1K deposit, when I was told the interest rate offer was no longer available, I wanted to tear up the deal and I wanted my deposit back. I was told by
Shane the deposit was non-refundable. I don't recall seeing this in writing anywhere. As a result, I went ahead with the deal. Fortunately, we like the car and have no regrets

Joe was welcoming and very helpful. We didn’t feel harassed or pushed to do anything. We told him what we wanted and quickly went for it. He showed us the vehicles we asked to see and got us on the road for a test drive quickly. While at the same time doing the research on our trade to minimize time. We didn’t intend to purchase a vehicle that day, but felt so welcome and comfortable with the experience we purchased 2 vehicles. The GM brand speaks for itself and we would have eventually bought new vehicles. But Joe’s kindness and professionalism made us want to do business with him and Ricart.

Took my wife’s 2016 GMC Terrain in for an oil change and some minor recall work. Took a book with me in anticipation of being there for a while. Looked at new cars in the showroom, chatted with a salesperson, and settled down in the customer lounge to read my book. I saw my car in the service area and figured they hadn’t got to it yet. I didn’t get a page read yet before they called me to let me know it was done. Fast and efficient! No issues, no hassles!

Very friendly and helpful. When I told them I forgot the coupon for the oil change and I waited until my sales person came in whose name is Julie. I explain to her about forgetting my oil change and tire rotation coupon and she said not a problem and she gave me another one, so I was able to use it for my oil change.

Everyone I spoke with was very friendly. I felt comfortable with the tech's suggested repair recommendations. I wasn't thrilled that I was told that they couldn't pull a code since my check engine light went off the day before my service appointment. When I picked up my truck, it still made the whining noise that was supposed to be fixed by replacing the alternator, my heater now sounds like a jet engine when cranked up, and my engine light has returned. Now I'm being told I have several hours of service to pay for to replace a wiring harness to get the engine light off, that I have to pay for the heat box to be cleaned out despite that noise starting after my truck was serviced, and that the noise is likely a transmission issue. I paid 2k to have the alternator, vacuum pump, and belt replaced and am looking at possibly thousands more. All of this is frustrating in general because this truck is a 2019 and shouldn't be experiencing ANY of these issues in the first place making the expensive service costs frustrating considering that it is not even paid off yet. I understand some mechanical issues can be hard to diagnose but I think I would have held off on the alternator/pump/belt if the tech would have considered the transmission on my first visit which I was told on my second visit that the tech DID in fact see a code in my trucks history but it wasn't active because my light had temporarily gone off. I'm between a rock and a hard place now. As of now I am pretty confident this will the last GMC I'll ever own due to utterly horrible reliability and poor quality of the truck I paid 30k+ for two years ago.

Took my vehicle in to rectify a recall issue, was told there were "two" issues. I was told I'd get a call when completed. Five hours later I called back, to check updated status of vehicle, because no one had called me from the shop. After getting transferred to the Service dept. I spoke with someone who put me on hold to apparently check on my vehicle status. I waited for 6+ minutes and he didn't come back on so I hung up and called back.
So, the first person I talked to I told her the story and ask her to transfer me to someone who could better help me.
She transferred me to "Julie" who took my issue and ran with it. From that point forward things got better and better. And she even did some follow up with me ending my experience on a positive note.
Based on that, more than likely I'd come back for other services.

My insurance company's preferred locations could not see my car for 3 months at the soonest just for an estimate. Not only could ricart Buick GMC see my car sooner but was able to get it in 2 days. I used a coupon for a brake job on Terrain (269.95 per axle, did both axles), was charged an additional $49 for sho supplies and was told this is standard practice to add 10% shop supply charge not to exceed $50. The coupon is misleading, it did not say anything about the additional charge and I wasn’t told about it when I brought the car in.

Tech advisor seemed knowledgeable about my headlight issue. Scheduled the service within days. Service department had the replacement headlight in stock. Charge was on the high side. Labor was high on this replacement. Part of that problem was the design of the headlight placement, making it difficult for the owner to replace the headlight.

Had to handle almost everything remotely due to Covid as well as my wife and I living 3 hours away. Dan Tobin was one of the closest within a 250 mile radius that had the truck we were wanting in stock.
That was the initial reason for choosing them. After dealing with Shane Sutton (who I unintentionally messaged on his day off) I would drive the 3 hours even if Covid wasn't around and more Canyons were available near me. Shane took the extra time to make sure we wanted to test drive the truck, even though we already had the paperwork rolling and weren't planning on backing out of the deal. He walked us through all of the extras we could add, and helped us make our own decision while remaining unbiased and not pushy at all.

How helpful my service desk attendant and second shift parts attendant were, they got me set up with the right part just moments before closing. 5 didn’t want to talk about a deal over the phone at all. 3 wouldn’t do anymore without me bringing in the trade in. The last two,one in Urbana and Dan Tobin here in Columbus were the only two that would take our information over the phone. The representative for Dan Tobin took all my information and pictures of our trade in over the phone , texting. After witch he turned over the deal to Shane,who called back with a firm deal, I put phone call on speaker and my wife and I listen to the deal. She was happy that she didn’t have to deal with anyone and was pleased with the offer that I worked out OVER THE PHONE for her. The car they had for us was A 2021 ACADIA SLE METALLIC GRAY AND BLACKED OUT TRIM AND BLACK ALOY WHEELS. a beautiful car that had come into the dealership the day before , with only 1 mile on it .THE WIFE LOVES IT. We agreed to the price and I asked them to get it ready for sale. It was the fastest new car sales we have ever experience . Only took 3 hrs at the dealership.
The only problem was with the OnStar system and the great dealerships service department is taking care of it and installing the rest of the Black Wheel locking lug nuts and black GMC Emblems. The Service dept was fast and friendly, setting up a date and time to drop it off and give us a free loner equivalent to the Acadia .

Exceptional customer experience! Dennis, Keith, and the rest of the staff did a phenomenal job. We had gone to 2 other dealerships closer to home, only to be ignored for 20 - 30 minutes. I called Tobin and told them what I was looking for and they gave me a better deal then what I asked for. We drove to the dealership (33 miles) to look at the car in a downpour, but no worries they had the car inside. Once we agreed to the deal, I went to finance , my wife and son got an in depth explanation of all the options the car has. Jake Williams is a wonderful salesman. Rather than approaching me with his agenda, he asked me questions and really listened. So many times, when buying a car, I would tell the salesman that one particular thing (Payment, lease term, certain amenities) was the most important to me and they would make me several offers that didn't meet that one most important thing. Not Jake. He listened and gave me an option that really fit my needs.
The financing was also a wonderful experience. I sat with Mara Lee while she called the finance company and advocated to help me get a better rate. It was a Saturday, and she called different people until she found the right person to help. She didn't have to do that and I was impressed with her willingness to go above and beyond for me. She was also very courteous and friendly.
Also, I have had service on my last Chevy for a couple years at Tobin. Greg Wright is awesome and really worked to take care of the issues at hand. They always gave me a clean, new loaner. One time, when I waited an extraordinarily long time for an oil change, they apologized profusely and didn't charge me. And their waiting room is wonderful. I was able to work on my laptop while I waited one day, and there are also comfortable couches and complimentary water and coffee. It's a world of difference from the dingy, poorly lit waiting rooms I've experienced elsewhere.
Tobin has a wonderful, friendly staff and is a beautiful facility. Even the staff who weren't helping me took the time to stop and say hello and make conversation. I always feel comfortable there. I highly recommend them for service or for a new car.

I have been to Dan Tobin several times because it is the closest Buick dealership to where I live. After the several experiences that I’ve had with them, I cannot say that they’re the best. I can say they are the best choice for me though.
Overall, they have that slight bit of shadiness that some dealerships seems to have. I had to take my vehicle in for a total of 6 visits to fix something that should have been fixed after 2 or maybe even 3 times. In total, they had my vehicle for a combined 3 months for a creaky seat issue. I had a nice loaner each time, but if I wanted a loaner, I’d rent cars for a living. I just wanted my car fixed and returned to me quickly.
Normal maintenance/service-wise, this was the first time I was having to pay for my oil change an tire rotation. They had a coupon online for a $49.95 Full synthetic oil change and tire rotation. When I scheduled my appointment, I made sure to specify that this was what I wanted. After they completed the job, the rep told me my total was $71! I said, what happened to the $49.95? “Oh, did you have a coupon?” he asked. I told him that I had scheduled it and let them know I wanted the deal they had going, all the while, as I’m standing there, I’m staring at the TV screen in the corner listing their services and the $49.95 was on that as well.
Had I not paid attention to what my total was, they’d have drastically overcharged me. That’s just not a place I can fully trust.

My 2005 Buick kept stalling out oh, and it did not matter where freeway, intersection, just whenever it felt like it. After trying to repairs that were successful to others so plagued, I took my vehicle to the Dan Tobin Buick service department.
I had spoken to Steve the day before oh, but he switched me off to Rich, who I found to be a caring and competent service manager.
I sat there for three hours Saturday morning and eventually was told to bring the car back on Tuesday so they can work on it all day Wednesday and determine the problem. I was given a loaner car, and I expected something off the used car lot, but no, it was a 2019 Buick station wagon that probably had more technology in it then the lunar lander of 1969.
Days went on and they kept attempting to find the problem, and unfortunately it turned out to be one of the computers. To make a long story short, or shorter, the repair was made the following Tuesday. On his own, Rich found coupons on the website, and other discounts that saved me quite a lot of money. As well oh, I was never charged a daily fee for the loaner vehicle.
I have had the car back now for a week and it has not stalled out once. The repair was not cheap, but I always felt that my concerns were well considered and that I was always treated with a professional attitude.

2021 Yukon was in for a repair, a recall and splash guard installation.
My wife picked up the vehicle w/ my younger children. When they got in and started the vehicle, they were encountered with a series of f-bombs from the radio that was blaring tuned to an explicit rap station picked up on Sirius XM. I can assure that was not a station chosen by anyone in our family.
As customers we always want to believe that our vehicles are being properly taken care of
while in for service. But based on how the vehicle was left, we believe that someone was out for a "joyride' following/during the service.

Fast, friendly check-in. Offered loaner car with me asking. Pointed out regular maintenance that was due and, after inspecting the car, advised of two more items that need done - brakes and leaking transmission lines. I suspected brakes where due and, based on my interaction with Steve Pratt, trusted him about the transmission lines. Brought the car in for an oil change and speaker issues - expected around $500 bill. After all was said and done, the bill was over $2000, and yet I felt I got good value for the work done and was treated with respect. I actually left happy having had the work done and glad I found a dealer to help keep my car running.

I visited the Dan Tobin Chevrolet Service Center because I was referred to them by a coworker. The initial experience was not very pleasant. Originally the guy I talked to on the phone assured me that if I brought my car in by a certain time then it would be done by the end of the day. So my husband and I took the day off work and drove an hour to drop my car off. We stalled around the area for 3-4 hours then went back and sat in the lobby for an additional hour and we started to see workers closing their offices and leaving so we asked for an estimate on when our car would be done. They guy then told us that it would not be done today and that they did not think we were coming back that day. So after taking a day off work and spending an entire day doing nothing we had to drive an hour back home. I was not very pleased with the miscommunication and change of plans. I called the next morning and Rich was super helpful. He immediately empathized with me and apologized. He then made arrangements for me get a rental car for the day with no charge and assured that my car would be done that day. The rental car was very nice and the staff that morning were very helpful and my car was done that day with no issue!! Although the first day was not as I wanted, Rich and some other staff made up for it!!!

Car was in 1 week ago for a check engine light, they replaced solenoids and cleaned out the fuel system ($650), saying that it was flagging bad air flow on the sensors. My brother had the same issue with his 2012 Equinox in late July and GM/Chevy didn't cover either of them. Read several reviews that other owners are having the same issue. 1 week later light comes on, this time it's showing bad air flow on the catalytic converter. Opted to wait on replacing it ($1,400 quoted). Then I was charged a $129 diagnostic fee, even though the vehicle had been in 1 week before AND I was not told about this fee when I scheduled either appointment. Very shady dealings. Would not recommend Dan Tobin or GM and am planning to sell my Terrain immediately since GM doesn't want to stand behind their vehicles.
**After this review posted, the dealership contacted me. They reached out to GM and got them to cover about $565 and the dealership offered to cover $71 ($200 minus the 129 diagnostic fee I paid). We have already started paperwork on a new vehicle though. Upping this from 1 star to 3.

Nothing but positive remarks regarding my salesperson. Nice guy, easy to work with. The car I bought had just come into the dealership and had not been through service or detailing. I made the deal and agreed to pick up the car when they got it done. Was pouring rain when I got the keys so didn't go through a lot but later found minor flaws in the cleanup. Grease spots on the dash, stains on the carpet, and the car smells like some cheap car wash detergent. In addition I was supposed to get a copy of the CARFAX - thought it was in my paperwork packet - not there, didn't get it. Was supposed to get an owners manual - no to that one too although I was told that if another car like it came in they'd grab the owners manual out of that one and get it to me. - yeah, right. Sore spot for me was the tires. Original equipment manufactured in mid 2010. Even with only 27k miles on the car, eight year old tires are a safety issue and it should not have gone on the market without them being replaced.

"PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE" - OUR PAST WITH TOBIN: Recalls happen and when I tried to find a place close to home and received the run-a-round from a new dealership I had to find another. So I thought: who is a constant, who has sustained, who has been talked about by others, who dines at my husband's restaurant? Dan Tobin came to mind. Always seeing the deanship from 270. We had never done business with Dan Tobin but I wanted and needed to form a relationship with a dealership. Desire to build trust for our vehicles to be worked on for recalls, etc. I first met Lauren, she did not try to talk above me, I know more than most but she kept the explanations simple to understand and no worries on the questions, they want you to ask. Lauren has been promoted and I completely understand why, she is good. After several recall fixes our relationship grew.
OUR PRESENT: A few weeks ago prior to a trip we went for an oil change. The new GM side had just opened so off my husband went and while there he ask them to check a couple other things. Home from the trip we notice an issue and knew it had to be from the last visit. I took the car back up and sat down with Don (manager) to explain/discuss. I am level headed not a hot head and knew this would be a teachable moment. During this conversation is where I gained even more respect for this dealership Don made it clear it was an error on their part, he was genuine. No excuses, no holding back, no it has been weeks it must be us, no spin. Within moments he was personally handling my car with a team. Yes, of course, I know he wanted to make things right immediately but it was not a scramble it was let's make this right for our client. I was impressed with the honesty and urgency.
OUR FUTURE: I felt confident enough that very day to let them go further and do some other repairs I could have easily let our personal mechanic handle. We will be back. The GM side is new, it is getting its "sea legs" there will be some bumps in the road, we have all been there. I am confident in the team on the GM side. They have promoted and hired some very seasoned and helpful people like Jeff and Chris. Those very people are helping/guiding those who are forging a path to be the next great mechanics. I respect the decision to teach. Relationships are not always perfect but working together we get it done, we build, we grow. Thanks to Team GM Tobin, thank you Don.

It was assumed the recall work would be complete in one day but I was informed around 5:00 after I called that the technician was having some difficultly. My child safety seat was delivered to me, which I was thankful for. After my vehicle was completed I noticed marks on the dash and broken pieces from the technician removing various interior trim pieces . I called and spoke to the person I had dealt with, forwarded pictures of the damage waited one week to be contacted and to date have not gotten an email, phone call, etc. In any business I have been a member of this is called dropping the ball. I may not own a luxury car but the last time I checked GM still needs to sell vehicles to stay in business. Not a happy customer!!

I will continue shopping here and would recommend them if you are in the market. I've been to other dealerships and found poorly informed sales people, sales people who don't respect my time or follow up or high pressure tactics. I've never gotten anything close to that at Dan Tobin. I can buy cars anywhere but I've spent over $100k in 4 years here and that's the best endorsement I can give.

Had a great experiencing with both the sales team and financial teams during the process of leasing our new Chevy Malibu. The sales associated, Tate Cline, worked effectively to get the color and trim that we preferred on the vehicle. He helped us understand how to go about turning in our current lease. I got some bad information from the Hyundai dealership and Tate directed me to the financial office where I was able to get everything cleared up. Tate spent time showing my wife how to sync up her phone and enable all the features of the vehicle.
Truly an enjoyable experience! We will be back.

Anyone that has dealt with Dan Tobin in the past knows that the sales department has always done a good job, but the service department has had it's ups and downs (mostly downs). They have recently made some changes to their service department, and I have to say things are definitely going in the right direction. The fixed ops manager Ed, the service manager Lauren, and both service writers Marty and Cody make a great combination. It seems like everyone's communicating much better now, and things have gotten much better overall. I highly recommend bring your GMC or Buick to this location for service. And if you're looking for a new car, be sure to look up Julie Salamon in the sales department.

This way one can experience all departments and get a true feel of how the operation runs. Dan Tobin Chevrolet clearly has its act together. The Service adviser was attentive to my issue and listen carefully to my explanation of the problem. They were able to take the car in even though I did not have an appointment scheduled for the day. They communicated, by phone, what they were able to determine what the issue was based on their diagnosis of why the check engine light was displaying. I granted them permission to continue with the repair and they performed the repair and notified me when it was completed.

Changing my rating. Sales experience was A+, which is why they get an overall 3. Service experience so far is a solid C- at best. Sat for well over an hour on two seperate occasions in waiting area for installation of same parts that were not there. Third time left to find an all weather mat that was curled up on side...cant get anyone on the phone and voicemails not returned. Appreciate the promise of oil change certificates to make up for it...but really just want the mats I paid for to be right. Very nice service staff, but being too busy to get it done right the first time makes the experience feels very disrespectful of my time.
