Off road is great on The beach. Stinks you can't have fireds anymore. Some people are pigs, leave trash everywhere, leave their fire mess everywhere. But it's a great place to be. Long Island has some of the most beautiful beaches for sure. Live bands at Beach Hut. Free parking after 5. Come on down

Very nice. Good place to camp. Water and electric hook up. 4 wheel out to the inlet. Better Than A Tent rentals hooked me up with a sweet camper! Even delivered it to the site.

It’s a beautiful place. Some locations are not as kept up as the top section overlooking the ocean. Overall it’s a beautiful place to camp and go swimming.

Always a great experience to be at Smith Point campground. Quick check-in, the bathrooms cleaned throughout the day multiple times, the garbage is picked up from your campsite several times a day. The campfire pit is cleaned and straightened out at least once each day. The beach is never crowded and the sunsets are the best on Long Island. Come and enjoy the great outdoors!

We love 4 wheeling on the outer beach! Can be a pain in the neck if you don't arrive early enough you do have to wait in line. All in all it's worth the wait due to safety precautions.

I had a meeting in Shirley with a client on Memorial Day and decided to check out the beach after. The parking lot was half empty when we got there at 11 AM this was partially because the weather was bad. The gentleman at the gate was very friendly while we paid for parking. If you are a resident of Suffolk County then parking is discounted to $9 per day if not I think it’s $15. The beach itself was nice with a few people out walking, running, fishing, surfing, picnicking and just sun bathing. What I liked the most about the beach was that it was really long and there was a part which was designated just for 4 x 4 driving. They are many RV and tent camping spots all seems to be hooked up with power and water. I also saw a dump station which is great for people who want to utilize it before hitting the road. I for sure will be back for camping and to do some for wheel driving on the beach.

It is a very nice Beach, and once all restrictions are lifted they have free concerts there every night. There's also a campground on the outer Beach. The only bad thing is beach erosion. 15 years ago there was twice the amount of beach as there is now. Very unfortunate, but still a great place to spend the day.

Watch for Ticks. Great night camping however tick control needs to be implemented. Found over 10 on me throughout my one night stay and more on my dog.

Great campground for the family. Ground is well kept and they clean the bathrooms every morning pretty well. I was lucky enough to book another trip mid summer before they were fully booked. Beach is also huge!

Unlike most county campsites in Suffolk, these sites are tightly packed together, so if you are looking to spread out far and wide, this is not the place for you. Also be warned with the amount of sites and campers it does get a bit loud, so if you are looking for solitude, again, this is not the place for you. That being said the campers are friendly and it is a nice place for those who want to fish or catch the sunrise. Also nice for families, just roll out of before and walk to the beach. Power hookup is a big plus too. Looking forward to my next trip.

I checked in they other day and whats a pleasure. I have been coming here for 20 years and they seem to be working in their customer service. I was checked in by Kim she was very pleasant and very helpful. I have also noticed they have been picking up garbage constantly and regular patrol's.

Fantastic light show, 2 miles long. $20 PER CAR but well worth it. Many Long Island companies are represented with delightful light up figures. A long slow ride great for young and old. Bring a credit card no cash accepted. Stop in at Santa's workshop for hot chocolate and cookies at the very end.

Grew up here on LI,always visited the beach, but now our new found love has been the camping at the beach. Appreciate the TWA flight 800 memorial, its done very nice and they really keep up the care for it.

It's a great place. Tons of parking and if you come after 5pm its free to park. The deer here will come to your car to try to get fed. The beach bnb is nice but closed now until summer.

For a county park this is a clean, well maintained campground. Reasonably priced. Plan ahead if you need certain dates or hookups. Big beach at Ocean, and can see sunset over bay. Most sites do not have a water view, but are a short walk from one. Sites are not big but have a cement patio.

Great place for ALL. Campers, beach goers, spectators, boaters... Bring ur own food or buy something at the concessions. Parts of the beach r even pet friendly. Lifeguards on duty til 5:30. $18 parking fee or fee after 5pm.

Basic campground, tight-packed but well maintained. Key thing is you're right next to the beach, which is fantastic. Oh and the mosquitos are not bad, at least not in mid August when we were here. But they do exist so expect to deal with them especially at dusk.

Great beach with good food that is more open air restaurant than concession stand. Only complaints is that it is extremely crowded during peak season and the music on weekends is so loud you can't not hear it, no matter how far down the beach you trek.

Purchased the Outer Beach pass for 4x4 access. Great way to be on the beach without having to lug everything with you and still have plenty of space to social distance.

Great location you can park by the Bay side or the ocean side. There is a bus that picks you up and takes you to the tiki bar live music free and takes you back so you can drink and don't drive Every 20 minutes.

It's beach camping. You either love or you don't. As long as there's some sort of breeze the mosquitos aren't that bad. But if the air is still. Better have a fire going and something with high deet. You can go 4x4 as long as the piping plovers aren't nexting in the trail.

Staff is absolutely horrible made me rush to site from the middle of work 45 minx away so my girlfriend could pay and sign us in with our tow lady made her wait out front while I raced home got in a bad car accident still Made it there to find out after complaining and making my gf wait she just let them through.. Very expensive campsite not worth the aggravation or money.

Love smithpoint but the park police are out of control way too aggressive and overly restrictive, asked campground workers how to get into the parking lot at 8pm with a campsite said drive thru exit if entrance closed I do it and get pulled over and given the riot act for nothing but following worker directions, now didnt go that far but tried to say couldn't come in at 9 it was 8 say it's 8 and says well have to be out a 9(false) so I shouldn't even go in, what do u mean have to be out at 9 when beach bar is open dont have people leaving at 9 cause open till at least 11, I get policing to protect the public dont get the harassment by park police for nothing, then threatened campsite next to me with a ticket if didn't move 2nd car which was allowed last year, they are power hungry and camping lives matter thee end

It was for free after Labor Day they have all types of alcoholic beverages they have specials on food like lobster and they have music till October 6th on the deck Tiki Joe's check it out it's a lot of fun I flew my first kite

You can't beat the location of you're looking to be on the ocean. Best to make reservations well in advance. Some site locations are better than others so call and ask questions if you are not familiar with this park. We went off season so the camp store was closed. Can't wait to get back there next year.

What a wonderful beach I went twice already since this year started and it's a shame really to see how people going to speech and leave so much garbage on the beaches speech has to be such a beautiful beach it still is why I don't understand why people can I clean up after himself it's such a shame keep environment clean

I couldn't get on their WiFi this year, but other than that, it wasn't too bad. I had good weather, and the bugs were at a minimum, but the shark and sturgeon warnings were a bit off-putting.
