We hiked 3 short trails which were well-maintained with numbered posts at every turn. The Succession and Hawk trails are excellent for bird watching especially from their bird blind. The Flood Plain trail highlight was hiking their wildflower meadow. At the entrance, there's a visitor center and full restrooms. There's a park fee per person requested, and leashed dogs are welcome. Other highlights were the hummingbird garden and butterfly house. There is a picnic area by the parking lot.

Great for enjoying a short family hike under a canopy of trees with east hills and bridges over small streams. Ornithologists will love the blinds and variety of carnivorous birds of prey.

Ashland is a beautiful little Park and educatiom center nestled in the Valley in Northern Delaware. They have a great system of trails that can all be hiked in a couple hours. In addition they offer an excellent range of Field Trips and outdoor classroom settings.

Great place for a day trip! There is lots to see here. Staff is friendly and helpful, scenery is beautiful, and there is lots of animals to see! One note: if bringing children, make sure you tell them about poison ivy, as there is quite a bit of it here.

My children and I love it here. There is a bird blind that is really fun for bird lovers of all ages. Hawk watch hill is definitely a work out but worth it once you get to the top! The butterfly house is amazing when it's the season and we see so many hummingbirds as well. We always have a great time here. The visitors center is clean and the people are very informative. The bathrooms are clean as well.

This is a beautiful nature center with lots of easy hiking trails and plenty of wildlife to enjoy. I'm so glad to follow the "brown signs" while heading home on the highways.

Such a beautiful place for 🐦 watching. It's just beautiful during summer and fall time. There are many Summer camps organized for kids. You can see many varieties of migrating Raptors and Song birds can be seen here. Definitely recommend this place. …

I have been visiting Ashland since I was a child. The beautiful hills, streams, and ponds filled with wildlife to find and catch are a second home to me. Now my kids love going too and are great at catching the myriad of insects and frogs here. Definitely one of Hockessin's treasures. Tip: if you go to the front desk during open hours, they'll let you borrow a net and container for critter catching.

Not a ton of rarity today in the birding world but it's always a great day when @ Ashland Hawk Watch area. The feeders proved to be the best spot with 2 HAWO and several species of sparrows . WBNU were abundant as well as CACH and WTSP. We were hoping to see an ATSP or a BCCH . No such luck but there's always tomorrow !!!

A little mushy to walk around. I was able to get some deer pictures and several different type birds. Beautiful walk!

Great spot for a kid's bday party as well!

Grew up near here as a kid and could walk about a mile and a half through the woods to get there. Scenic North DE hills, red clay river, covered bridge, lots of wildlife!
