A nice relaxing park with several plaques and various statues memorializing past wars and fallen soldiers. Very calm and a nice place to visit and relax. A brief paved walking path that follows the river. You can fish or just enjoy the breeze and watch the alligators.

Such a beautiful tribute to all those lives lost over the years fighting for our freedom. The entire park was beautiful and well kept. Perfect place for a nice little picnic next to the water as well. From start to finish it took us around 45 mins to walk throughout every exhibit. Due to COVID (I assume), the museum was closed. We were able to peek our eyes through the glass to see part of the inside though. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this park for a weekend or weekday visit with the family.

This place is amazing. As crazy as it sounds, you can almost feel every veterans presence. There is such a sense of peace sitting in any area of the park, no matter which memorial you are observing. No, I am not a veteran myself but have many family members who are. I will be going back to make this a definite all day trip.

I really like that i was only 20 minutes away. The organizers where very pleasant and caring. We had the last memorial for this veterans that passed my father was one of them. Very supportive. Hope the museum opens back up.

Very beautiful park. It is small but such a great way to honor Veterans from different war time eras from Hillsborough county that died in service. There are some picnic areas overlooking the river.

Great park to show respect and to learn history about the people (and animals) that served our Country. There are lots of outside memorials and a small inside museum. Not really a good place for little ones, lots of things that look fun to climb but are off limits. Maybe they should think about making this place a little more family friendly. I know my father who served, would love nothing more than to hear the sound of children laughing and playing, in a country he fought to protect... Don't wait until Memorial day to come enjoy this park.

Our family had a lovely day walking through all the memorials and reading the plaques, and there are a few small trails around the property. We also took advantage of their picnic tables and packed a lunch. We learned a little something and enjoyed a beautiful spring day in Florida.

It makes you travel in history from Seminoles wars I, II, III to the Spanish american war and all wars till present. It is dedicated to the men who gave their lives in service to their country during the different wars, they knew the price of Freedom. Thanks to all of them

Lovely park that honors our fallen soldiers. There are tables and restrooms there to relax and enjoy the scenery as well. They allow fishing along the bypass canal there and I've heard that people have caught some big bass there from 10-12# during spawning season. I caught my first Sunshine bass there two weeks ago which is a hybrid bass that is part Striper and part white bass that the FWC releases millions of each year in FL since the males are sterile and they can't reproduce naturally. The locals call them Wipers or Swipers depending on who you talk to.

Lovely, shaded and peaceful park that honors the Armed Forces with multiple beautiful memorial exhibits of various kinds. It's quiet and right on the water. Kids may enjoy seeing tanks, helicopters, and the memorials, but it is not really a 'family' park in the sense of playgrounds or sports facilities. There are pavilions, restrooms and picnic tables available, as well as a small museum and veteran's center.

I'm a Vietnam Veteran. Served in the 1st Air Cavalry 15th Medical Bn from June 67 to June 68. The visit here took me many years back in time to a life-changing experience that I will never forget. Once a Soldier always a Soldier. The attendant was great. He made sure that I know of the excellent Supportive Services provided at that facility. Stop in and be guaranteed a very good outing.

Beautiful, quiet space. The park is bigger than it looks. Besides picnic tables, some BBQ pits, people fish along the canal. There's also an exercise trail that offers a safe place for women to walk or run. There's also a resource center there if you're a veteran in need. They're very nice there. The park is dedicated more towards the Army, although all branches are represented. There's always people there, but its never crowded. Now that probably changes during veteran events, but I don't kno, I haven't seen that yet.......

Person on duty practically demanded that we wear masks. Sign says masks are "recommended". As a guest in the Veterans Memorial Park I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome. A little "warmth" and some sugar would go a long way toward causing visitors to return.

This park is a beautiful tribute to our service members through all conflicts in which our men and women have served. It is well cared for and even my 3 and 5 year old boys enjoyed the park and the museum. It's not huge and there are lots of trees, picnic tables and a walking path.

This park is amazing. If you have a dog, it's frowned upon to let him take dumps in the open or near monuments. In a similar regard, if you have children they don't like them playing on or near the monuments. Is hard for them not to sometimes since everything looks so cool. All in all just a really great place to walk around, it's really clean and there's water where you can chill but not swim. There's also a big trail that connects to Broadway.

Veterans Memorial Park is a wonderful tribute to our fallen. This location has a few retired military vehicles and weapons on display. Combine that with the custom recognition walls and the overall park like atmosphere of the site. The area was clean and maintained nicely with plenty of parking available. The visit is free.

What a great park! It's an awesome place to unwind and walk around to learn history about our veterans, including the dogs! Additionally, if you're still into Pokemon Go, there are plenty of Poke Stops to check out while learning about history in a safe, clean, beautiful park. Win-win!

This is a beautiful park! We were visiting the Tampa area for a few days and searched Google for a park nearby. Glad this was the first search result! The memorials are all extremely well done. Beautiful and touching. The park itself is clean and green. Many paths to walk on and explore. There is also a wonderful canal path walking trail that is paved and has exercise stops along the way. I would highly recommend a visit here.

The Veterans Memorial Park is a nice pull over spot to admire the service men and women of all of America’s conflicts and wars. They have sections for each theatres highlighting main moments, and bravery of outstanding individuals. There is plenty to learn and much detail in sculptures.

Great place to exercise, and relive history. Dogs are welcomed, as long as they're chained, and picked up after. There are numerous vehicles on the grounds. Tanks, helicopters, and anti tank weapons. Fishing is allowed. Decent length trail. Good spot for a picnic, not necessarily for kids birthdays though. No playground.

Veterans Memorial Park is a very small cute little Park but pays honor to our military. I guess there's a small Museum on the grounds but I did not go into that. I went for a walk on the short trail but it is not a place for extended exercise. It is a place for lunch, reading about our military history, and seeing some artifacts. I will go back with my boys. Great place.

This is a beautiful and well-maintained park that does honor to our nation's military veterans. A stroll through the park takes you on a journey through military history. There are monuments to each major American conflict along with informative signs. The monuments themselves are works of art. Go at lunchtime for a peaceful break or go on a weekend and take your time exploring and learning. But go, and remember the courage and sacrfices of our nation's military veterans.

I come from a very patriotic place in a historical area of New York and I have seen beautiful memorials. I spent many years working with Veterans. What I saw there today totally blew me away. The memorials are incredible. I had goose bumps the whole time I was there. It is a small park on the inlet or something but, don't let the size of this Park fool you. There are museum's there too but chose to wait till my husband goes to experience that. Please be respectful and clean.

First, the park is a veteran oasis in a city that loves their Veterans, Active Duty personnel, and Reservists. The park is a small monument to all five services and gives proper recognition and respect to the fallen. Little monuments and some old vehicles take some guys back to a time of pride in country and valor in duty. Even more, they have and office dedicated to helping Veterans in any way they can. From answering questions to helping with claims they go the extra mile to make your situation easier, better, or successful. Its worth a visit.

If you want real Confederate history, incuding the 6 Confederate flag meanings, please check it out. Small, privately owned beautiful memorial... Today at Veteran's Memorial Park was the Civil War Memorial. Each year on October 20th this war will be commemorated. The museum holds much of our history and the park has a memorial for all the wars and great battles. The Field of Honor is held quarterly to pay respect to the Fallen military and 1st responders of Hillsborough County. I highly recommend and encourage the community to take part in future memorials. Beautiful place.only thing i didn't like is website said they are open till 5.drove from lake Wales florida.when I got there a gentleman was at the gate who said they were closed but if I stay in truck I could ride around for 15 min.and they were strict about that.10min into me driving around one of the people there pull up to me and told me I had 5min left.

Every veteran should visit this park. There are numerous memorials each one deserving of a few minutes time to read the various captions. If there is a drawback it's a little bit hard to find since it's not well marked.

Great to see the Vietnam Traveling Wall. this park is a permanent home to memorial plaques from the wars from the Indian wars up to Iraq. It's hard to look at all those young people lost in wars but it is good to have a place to go that honors them.
