My best friend has camped here for years. It is a beautiful area. Restrooms were decent.. nicer than most parks. Loved walking down to the beach (closed for season four swimming but still cool walk). Hike was pretty well marked (yellow trail) but parallels the park road so never far off if you lose it.

Great campsite very peaceful. Pads are not paved but that's no big deal. Lake is nice. 4 stars just because of the gravel pads and it's about dated.

This place is great. Able to camp surrounded by the lake. No bugs. Very nice people. Two small problems # 1 Depending on which way you go you can end up on county gravel roads for 5 miles or so and the I came from Kansas City, MO and ended up in Hwy 18. It is a beautiful area but the hwy was barely wide enough for my Ford Focus. So it might be a little scary pulling a travel trailer. Even though the roads are well maintained. #2 I was sleeping under the stars when a bunch of raccoons invaded my campsite. They were actually chasing me away to get in my small bag of trash hanging on the post. Never had that happen. Irregardless I will definitely be back. If you love the outdoors you really should check it out

we love this park, great campsites, friendly staff, good amenities, good lake & beach plus bike & kayak rentals… we always stay out on the peninsula with lovely breezes & wonderful sunrises.

While returning home on a road trip to Key West from Colorado in early April 2022, we stayed here in the campground for 1 night. All sites are flat and nicely separated. It is a nice, quiet campground. There is only one bathhouse with running water in this campground, which seems kind of odd, as it is a rather large campground. There is only one other restroom – a vault toilet – for the north section of the campground. We did not reserve a site and it was no problem as the campground was virtually empty. The bathhouse is not heated, so it was a bit chilly using the shower at the time of the season.

We love this camp ground! It's our first timeto stay. Very friendly staff. Clean, close to water, peaceful, swimming , camping, fishing, kayaking, and much more !

I love going there for the nature trails. I've never seen ppl out there on them so it's very peaceful and refreshing. There's certain spots you can stop and sit at, enjoy the fresh air and Enjoy the nature. It runs through to a point down to the swimming area and back around the other side of the road. And not to far off the road so you can't get lost! Normally I see deer through there, owls in the trees once in awhile. Very calm and relaxing. These are just a few pics I took. I put the little guy in kind of a hide and seek spot, see if you can spot him!!
He was part of one of my walks one day. Very beautiful, calm a peaceful. Good for the heart.

This is my favorite campground. It is full up but everything is calm and relaxed, does not feel crowded at all. Great place for a family trip! Good access to the lake if you bring your boat or kayak. No complaints at all!

We love this place!! Even when it storms and we are in tents. It's so peaceful and gorgeous!! Totally worth it and a great place to RV!!

A week before memorial day, we chose to reserve H323 at Pomme de Terre. When we got there the site had a very weathered picnic table, and a messed up fire ring. I was lucky to have brought my own fire grate as the grate on this one was unusable. The site was literally covered in large and small sticks, with no area that we could tell was for you to setup a tent. Foliage was knee high in much of the area and we found broken glass in the dirt near the picnic table. I enjoy the outdoors and camping but felt that this particular site in the campground was neglected. The one next to it had a cleared area for a tent and a reasonable fire ring, I just got unlucky in my site selection. Overall, the Hermitage campsite looked to be well maintained (except our site) and had friendly staff. Just choose something other than H323.

Amazing sights and sounds. Peace and tranquility. Also not sure the desk ladies name but she was super helpful.
Lisa cox
Great place to camp. Wish there was water hook ups. Friendly camp staff

Good campground, bad dump station- there's only one lane & one dump hole. This causes major delays when leaving. Most sites need either more gravel added or weedkiller deployed because vegetation is overtaking the driveways.

We camp here every year for the 4th. Well maintained, friendly staff, great spots available.
If you haven’t before, check out the little shop at the entrance. They have basic supplies, souvenirs, and ice cream and the prices are unbelievably low.
Tina Geiger
Wonderful place, very quiet. Will definitely be back. The perfect relaxing atmosphere I was in need of.

I've never been to a lake with such clean bathrooms before. Even the Casey's down the street. Showers were clean as well. The staff were very helpful as well. And if you happen to stop for icecream at their little lake shop just know you get your money's worth!

been coming here for years... always a great location to stay, highly recommended for tent or rv camping

Very relaxing and peaceful campground. The weather was perfect. Swimming beach was very nice. Our camping spot was very nice,no high weeds or brush.bathrooms and showers were well stocked and clean. There were at least 2 campground hosts there to help with questions about the park and the area.

We are camping in the middle of the week and there is no one hardly here. It's great peaceful and quiet. Clean and friendly Camp host.

Not sure I should post this, but we think this campground has the best lake views from many of the sites. Other than that, it's a typical Missouri State owned campground.

Amazing! Had a beautiful setup for my whole family. Campground is very clean and cared for. Sunsets are the most amazing you'll ever see. Facilities were clean and we'll kept. Only negative for me was not a great shower head/temp to where I couldn't shower with hardly any water coming out could just be hard water buildup. Which my sister told me other shower stalls had good pressure and temp even during "rush hour" as I call it before bed. Just wish it was full hookup but overall a great place to stay! Well absolutely be going back!

Love coming here. There always nice and keeps everything well maintained

Bugs weren't bad, plenty of space for camping as well as running around, good for large groups. A couple of the spots are nicely lakeside, and the bathrooms were some of the best I've seen at campgrounds. The store is also very useful and everyone working there was very nice. Downside was there was only one bathroom so anytime you had to go it was a bit of a walk and the beach isn't sand, it is rocks. Had a good visit though and would go back.

Nice lake area. Lots of swimming and boating

We camped and kayaked with our young children during April and it was very enjoyable. The playground is labeled ages 5-12, and there are also swings. The restrooms were stocked, and the grounds are patrolled regularly. The campground is next to the marina, so be prepared for those early-morning boat launches, especially during tournaments.
Lois Rissler
Friendly people, nice place to bike, and good place to relax by the campfire
Sharon Sims
Great place. Spent 4 nights during September with cool nights, pleasant days. As usual, showers were clean, grounds in excellent shape, camp host very helpful.
Joseph Baratta
Campground located on a peninsula jutting into Pomme de Terre Lake. Large open campsites, many shaded, some in a more open area. Dark skies for stargazing. Easy access to the lake from marina in campground. Great little camp store open a few hours mornings and evenings. Many little coves to explore with your kayaks. Will be back later this year.

My family loves this state park during the summer, the waters close by with boat access and great fish holes to catch bass to catfish. Stores are close by like Dollar General and Eagle Stop. You dont have to travel far for something you may of forgot or a pack of cold beer. The camp ground has 3 loops for campers and one loop for tents, there are shower houses up front with the camp ground store where you can buy ice to keep your beer cold and worms to bait your hooks. A great place to camp and enjoy the water. Tent and camper sites. No water or sewer hook up on sites. Must fill tank at a facet and dump at a station. Electric hook ups for campers.

Love coming here flooded or not.

We camp here most of the time that we camp it's well kept, clean, spacious you're not right on top of your neighbor like some campgrounds we have been to.
Sheryl Villemarette
There is a road that goes to the lake that is a great place to walk. You may see some deer and get a little exercise. Just a lovely place and clean bathrooms as well!

Quiett spacious beautiful
Steve Alexander
The only problem I had there was our picnic table was on the wrong side of the camper which the kids had to run around the camper to get to it so we ended up pulling in the opposite way to be able to use the table and we got told about it but we stay there anyway because it was a safety issue running around around the on the road running in front of vehicles
Sandra Allen
