Reviews of Forest Park
Keith Duerk
This park is amazing. The only parks I've been to that compare are Central Park and Golden Gate. It absolutely massive and beautifully designed and laid out. You can spend a few days exploring all there is to see. The art museum and the zoo are both free and world class. I had a great time exploring and taking pictures.
Mimdi Everhart
Love this place!! It has great walking trails, gardens, wooded areas and streams through out the park. Great things for the family; from a great park, a zoo and discovery animals to play and ride on, and picnic areas. Every part of the park has something to offer! A planetarium, boat house, jewelbox, zoo, history and art museum all free to the public. Also a golf course for the adults.
Roberta Peek
Passing through and made a quick stop here. Dog friendly park. Beautiful area to walk around and see the grounds. Zoo is also in this area. I didn't go there but saw the entrance as I was exiting the park. It was beautiful with metal sculptures.
Julia
This is a gorgeous park situated in a perfect part of town. Plenty of trails to walk with benches scattered throughout to rest and enjoy nature. Tennis courts, kayaking, canoeing, golf, trails, benches and plenty of open spaces for kites and picnicking make this entire park a picture-perfect spot to relax and explore.
Kevin B
Such a HUGE park with so many pockets of areas to explore. Running trails are maintained and there were security people posted around the park (maybe that’s a good sign? Or not?)
If you are interested in bridges, this place has dozens of them crossing over paths, waterways, streets, and more. Some are historic with plaques to read their past.
Went on a cloudy day, but still enjoyed all the sights. Definitely plan to make a trip back once everything turns green.
Derrick Grant
Forest Park is an amazing place to visit. The park has a great zoo and art museum, both are free. There are countless trails and places to do outdoor sports and activities. Many concerts and events are hosted in the park, also the park has a golf course. This park is a must see, if you are in Saint Louis.
Kelsey Schultz
BIG love to Forest Park always. Forest Park is the heart of St. Louis to me. It houses the most beautiful architecture throughout the city- dating back to the 1904 World Fair, the most green space in the city, and SO many free options and activities- such as the history museum, zoo, art museum, and the Science Center. The bike/walking trail takes you on an 11-mile loop throughout the park providing views of The Muny, the Jewel Box, the Zoo, the Grand Basin, a waterfall and fountains, and much more.
I'll never grow tired of this park. Various locations throughout the park host different types of attractions like Shakespeare in the Park, Movie on Art Hill, Festival of Nations, Balloon Glow and Race, and many others.
Claudia Markel
A wonderful park! Always love coming here, no matter the weather. It's fantastic for walking and biking, and a good portion of the paths are paved and wheelchair accessible. There are so many cool hidden spots- like the natural playground and the butterfly garden.
anirudh girey
Do you know that this park is bigger than Central Park? The place is huge and beautiful. you can find here the History Museum, Museum of Arts and even the St. Louis Zoo! There are tons of trails and bike paths that will take you through acres of natural beauty. We walked over a bridge built in the 1880s, sat by a stream and watched ducks, Saw a huge variety of fauna, and still managed to not get lost. Forest Park Forever has worked hard to keep the entire park pristine.
Jayda Olson
HUGE park. Very nice! Ride the scooters around. Lots of animals to see, and lakes. The bird scooters charged a bit much for how far you went. Was still fun and beneficial. Have to be 18+ to ride.
Lisa Curtis
Beautiful park & amazing zoo! Very impressed with this location! Admission is free (including zoo) and it’s absolutely beautifully landscaped and well maintained! You will not be disappointed by your time spent here
Rose
Forest Park History Museum was fabulous and its free.
The exhibit STLROCKS & The World's Fair we just so interesting and historical beyond what I knew for both exhibits.
There are children exhibits as well along with a great gift shop.
Sharonda Davenport
I just love coming here and exploring all of the different paths. I still have yet to make my way through the entire park! Definitely great for photo shoots, family picnics, dates. Anything really.
Nathan Flaminio
This park is HUGE!!! There's so many different things to do and see here. The zoo, art, planetarium, sports, restaurants, botanical garden, and more. It's a shame we didn't have more time to explore it.
This place is well worth a visit, and probably several if you want to see everything. We'll make a point to stop back here again the next time we head southwest.
There are a ridiculous amount of Pokestops and gyms here. This would be a great place for Community Days and other events.
C Sparks
Absolutely beautiful park with free zoo, art museum, and history museum. The grounds are beautifully set up with wood areas and fields. This is certainly a must visit spot if you visit St Louis.
Katya Finegold
Really great park to go for a walk during a visit to St Louis. Lots of activities including bike and boat rentals, picnic areas, museums and just great trails. Can spend a whole day just wondering around
russell kauhl
This has to be the best and biggest city park I have ever visited! There is just so much to do! From the art and history museums which are both free by the way, to the St Louis zoo. It was an amazing Park!
BogdanM
Trees, alleys, greenery, many flowers and water games. A very beautiful park where you can relax in peace. I don't know how nice a walk would be at night. We were advised to avoid night walks and we followed this advice ...
Anthony Thomas
Large beautiful park with lots to see and do. St. Louis Zoo is located within the park, as well as the Art Museum. There’s a lot going on! Loved all the trails for running, cycling, etc.
Lena Liu
This place is amazing! Can't believe this is all free. Even if you spent the $ for the rides and food, it's perfect for a fun day. I suggest going as early as you can as it get busier in the afternoons. A must visit!
Monica Restrepo
I'm visiting from Nashville TN, and stopped by Forest Park. Beautiful scenery, lots if ducks abd geese. We used the paddle boats for an hour, which was great ($25, and no wait). Very enjoyable!!
Shivaprasad K
One of the best parks I visited. Spread over 1,300 acres, it has something for everyone. Forest trails, walking / jogging tracks, golf courses, beautiful lawns, museums, zoo, pools, fountains.....
Mindy Mallow
So proud I get to live near this gorgeous historic park. It's the largest city park in the country. Something for everyone: fantastic zoo, amazing art museum, beautiful nature... if you're visiting St. Louis please make sure you don't miss it!
Tati Raz
Huge park!!! Lots of things to do and see! Zoo, art museum etc., great kids areas and picturesque areas!!! You probably need couple days to get the full enjoyment of the park ! It’s bigger than Central Park in New York!!!
Kristen Davis
This was my first time in St. Louis and it was amazing! We will be visiting forest park next time as well. The weather was perfect. So beautiful and clean. So much to do and so much to see. I was so so so impressed. We will be back!
Michelle Headrick
Forest Park has so many great gems hidden inside! Sirens the whole weekend walking around exploring or a day visiting the zoo, children's garden, science center, museums, art museum, golf course or so much more. You'll never get bored exploring the massive park that has something to offer for every age group. You won't be disappointed regardless of which part of the park you decide to explore!
Denise Thompson
Magical escape of green space, with much more to enjoy. Nature's finest, outdoor activities: boating, golfing, tennis, biking and more. Cultural indulgence: Art & History museum, the Zoo, and even performance theater, the Muny. Newly renovated playground and the list goes on! I ♥️ F.P.
beth ellyn rosenthal
Forest Park, at 1,371 acres, is the biggest urban park in America. St. Louis is sure lucky to have it.
Like Central Park in New York it lives and breathes greenery and nature in the middle of urban concrete. What a delicious respite for residents, especially those who can walk to the park.
We set out from our hotel two miles away to walk to the Zoo, which is located in the park. We ended up walking 8.5 miles that day (never intended!) because there was so much to see in the park. We said, "Ooooo look. Let's check that out." There is something naturally gorgeous around every corner.
The park opened in 1876 so the trees are mature. In July it was cool walking the paved paths because the tree canopy was so dense.
Living in a desert (Las Vegas), I loved the various bodies of water. Jefferson Lake is my favorite. People were actually fishing! In the middle of the city!!!!
The park is designed for people who appreciate nature. There is seating and tables in coves everywhere.
Even though the Art Museum is in the park, you don't have to go inside to see art. The park is packed with sculptures. Some even have their own plaza.
There are two golf courses, a skating rink, tennis courts, baseball fields and paddle boating. Once again, surrounded by concrete on all sides. I marvel.
I wished we had time to see a play at the Muny. We walked by and saw the flags announcing each performance.
Forest Park is a St. Louis treasure. (Along with Ted Dewes frozen custard.) If I lived there, I would be exploring this park every week-end.
Anita Watson
Forest Park is vast almost a third larger the NYC Central Park and houses the Art Museum, Botanical Gardens , public golf club , youth golf training , and the zoo that I know of. I've been to the zoo and botanical gardens several years ago . Did the Art Museum, the Cafe and gift shop were great . Viewrd and walked the beautiful Emerson Basin Forever Forrest Park and Cascades waterfall but teps went to 97 ° and I wasn't prepared with a hat, water or sun block . The next time I will and want you to fo the 2.5 miles river into the Basin.
Petra Davidson
Forest Park offers a breathtaking view of nature and the St Louis skyline. Hundreds of acres of free golf courses, trails, scenery, sky to enjoy right in the center of a major city. Forest Park contains a world class museum, science center, zoo and more
Paul Leason
Beautiful views and it’s massive! Larger than Central Park! You could spend a whole day here and still not discover everything. They did a great job here
Cristie Smith
We came all the way from a small town in Illinois just to come to this zoo. We were not disappointed. Wish the weather was a bit warmer, but otherwise it was great!
Annette Sharon
Great place to unwind, relax, walk, run, play golf, any other sports, etc. It has been named the #1 city park in United States recently. It is maintained very well.
R Valdez
One of the nicest public courses I’ve seen, the views are amazing and the staff is very helpful! They have Calloway rental clubs in case your traveling and want to get out.
Jason Olson
We barely touched the edges of Forest Park and wished we had more time to explore.
So much history in the park, why it was created, the worlds fair and so much more.
The Bird Scooters are a rip off, save $20 and walk.
Just 2 blocks off the Metro if you are using public transportation.
Natalie Jordan
If you are looking for a beautiful place to walk trails, bike, see beautiful architecture, catch a play, visit the zoo, eat a delicious meal, go into a literal flower glass box... Forest Park has it all! Check it out!!!
Armando Delgado
Excellent place with lots to do. Take a leisurely walk or for fitness. Check out the wildflower garden, take in a show at Muny, see the zoo, the art museum, the planetarium, golf, archery, baseball etc.
Dr Amanpreet Kaur
Forest park is one of the best spot in St. Louis to hang out with family and friends, there are plenty of walking and biking trails and offer beautiful views to enjoy natural beauty. It gets all the more beautiful in fall when everything is so colorful. It has art museum, boathouse, The Muny theatre, Stl Zoo and so many other attractions. There are lush green laws too for sitting with friends and family to enjoy sunshine. Lots of plants and flowers too for nature lovers. It’s a must visit place in the city, a true gem for residents.
Hani A
I love coming to Forest Park. It's one of Saint Louis's greatest gems. It was a nice sunny day today, so I came out here to test out the 100x zoom of my new Samsung S22 Ultra
Teresa Wise
Loved grabbing s bite here. Salmon and cream cheese on a croissant with fries was delicious. Vodka slushy was superb. Loved looking out on the water, great band was playing and it's dog friendly. Next time we will have to rent a paddle boat and head out on the lake.
Paul Roberts
The new Grizzly Bear and Polar Bear exhibits are fantastic! Just about every trip we make here a zoo staff stops to talk to us about some exhibit we are looking at. The information they share is always interesting. From large to small, the St. Louis Zoo has them all.
April Somerville
There’s a museum, trails, a park, a long, peddle boats, A ZOO!!!, art, all kinds of stuff. It’s beautiful! Very very clean, and ps Pokémon go is great there if your into that!
Darien Camie
One of the best public parks in the country. The middle picture is what Forest Park looked like during the 1904 Worlds Fair. Most of the buildings were torn down after the fair but there a still a few left in the park and they are spectacular. Including a giant bird cage that is still used by the St. Louis Zoo.
L Grabb
This is a great park for playing sports such as frisbee golf, softball, basketball and baseball. You can visit the Muny for outdoor theater shows. They have lots of sidewalks to run on for runners. It is a huge park. They’re host to the Hot Chocolate Race every year.
N C.
Great place for a walk. I come here all the time and it's very relaxing. Everyone is just minding their own business running, walking, biking.
Kelby E-N.
I enjoyed my visit to the zoo yesterday. Such a nice stroll
Jan Irvine
Went to the St. Louis Art Museum. The entire venue, inside and out, was awesome. The flowers and garden beds were beautiful. Great spot for a proposal!!
Derek Selvidge
Fantastic Park for walking, jogging, riding bikes, or a day with the family. There are so many different, beautiful areas to explore! Love it!
Z Zylka
Great free zoo
A bit confusing for me to get around... I failed map reading 🤫 Thanks for the workers who pointed me in right direction!!!
Luv it though from hippos to orangutan to elephants.
Employees were awesome
Chasity Smith
Really enjoyed seeing the wild flowers flourishing. I loved seeing all the natural prairie flowers vs the typical park.
Armah Mitchem
Forrest Park is the best city park in the country. Nearly everything is free, wide open spaces, and so much to do. It's literally fun for all ages.
Dave lon
Always love going to this zoo, all the animals look well taken care of. The museum is also a nice place to be. The whole area is very well maintained, I saw a lot of bees on the many different flowers they have in planters and that is always a sign that people care about what they are doing.
Robert Barnacle
One of the best places to visit in St. Louis. It is gorgeous well maintained and plenty big enough to do whatever you want. Play games, go running, and picnic. Whatever you can think of. Must visit to see the historic parts where the world's fair took place.
Mary Shadowens
Went to St Louis for about the 100th time and we decided to explore the park. Very clean, safe and well maintained. Several choices for activities. Could easily spread out a blanket and enjoy a beautiful day. We will go back and explore more our next trip to the St. Louis area.
Elliot Gross
Beautiful park! Not as much mature focused as it is attraction focused, but that’s fine. Unfortunately, most things were closed on a Monday, which is disappointing considering how big of an attraction the sites are. Oh well!
Anna Miller
As always I greatly enjoyed the art museum. Then we went to the all natural playground by the World's Fair Pavilion that I had never been to before. A good time was had by all.
Christina Vazquez
Best park around. From walking trails, to the Zoo, the Muny, to open air Shakespeare in the Park, fabulous special events like the Great Forest Park Balloon Race and so many 5ks. And that’s not even half of it.
This park really is the jewel of St. Louis.
KOI Pond
From an Art Museum to the Zoo this park had it all. Lots of green open space, manicured gardens, ponds and recreation opportunities for all. A true gem for St Louis and best part is that it is free.
Patrick Van Bendegom
Went to Art Hill and The Boathouse, Which were both awesome but I forgot to take pictures on the boat.
Michael B (Miles)
Enjoyed the variety of summer wild flowers. Very well kept park, neighbors the central west end.
Stephanie Murrell
Honestly I was just going to the St. Louis Museum of Art 🎨.I didn't know I was at the park. The park is beautiful. The landscape is full of native Midwestern plant species and it just breathtaking. I loved it and I see why alot of locals love it too. There are alot of things to do from what I saw. They have boats and the zoo is there and the art and history museums are there. There are trails and water fountains for day. I plan on returning again. Definitely a fave in St. Louis
Mike Reimer
Great park for so many different activities. I went for morning bike ride and visit to the zoo.
Susan Postle
Beautiful zoo, it's very clean, well staffed. We purchased the adventure pass. The train is a good way to cool off and ride around
Nichole K
One of the best parts of the city. We take our dog to Art Hill to walk around. The art museum and zoo are both free and you've also got the Muny, Boathouse, and more. Lots of trails, a golf course, really everything you can pack into one park. There's also events like the annual Balloon Glow and different festivals and things.
Sayed Mohammad shah Alamy
I would like to say that you have to visit this beautiful park.
Free of charge
Museum is free with lots of good things
Nice and friendly people around here
Rod G
So many different free attractions like the zoo and the science museum. Be prepared to walk ALL DAY LONG if you want to get the most out of your visit.
Sury
The central park of the midwest :)
Lots of walking area and free things to do like the art museum and zoo! Pretty views!
E. Collins
Wow! This place is really cool and we didn't even explore far. We ordered food on the other side of the highway and drove to the park to eat during a road trip.
My husband stopped at this spot because he saw benches. We just stood the whole time and adored these water gardens. If I lived in the area, I bet it has many more amazing amenities to check out.
Like, how are these lily pads even this big?! I kind of want to climb in..... 😂💗
Roy Sher
nice big park with a lot of pathways and areas for walking and exercising. lot of nice views to see and places to explore including the zoo, art museum, Missouri history museum. parking is plentiful and there are places to rent boats to paddle along
lot of wild ducks and geese and birds to see along the way
does get busier on long weekends like presidents day, but people generally are nice with parking
R Cusick
I couldn't take it all in within a single day. But the bus goes right into the park, so I could save my money for exploring. Saw beautiful flowers, took a picture of an egret, sat on a bench by Pagoda Island and thought and had a picnic, then walked back to the bus stop. Wonderful way to spend an afternoon! Oh! And the folks in the visitor's center are super kind and helpful, and there are restrooms there as well, if you're going to spend hours at the park like me.
Valarie Moore-Hall
Of the many beautiful city parks, even larger ones Forest Park truly is accommodating. Inexpensive, beautiful, well maintained so much to do and super exciting
bill fernandes
We love this park. Whatever it is that tickles your fancy, you can enjoy it here... There is a zoo , a place for paddle boating, the muny, bike paths and running paths, i read somewhere also that this place is even bigger than central park in NY. We go out biking almost everyday and we ride around 6 miles a day, there are some challenging little hills for our inexperienced selves 😁, but it is so much fun. plenty of little ponds and quiet spots if you want to sit under a tree and read a good book.
Danielle Campbell
Love this zoo and the free admission 🧡 great for family fun days and to learn about the animals. …
Denise Randolph
Vast and most beautiful at fall. Four museums and a zoo. Most are free! Must see and plenty to do.
Debbie Ditmyer
Such a beautiful park. To see everyone enjoying themselves soaking up the sun or just taking family photos is a nice a reason to sit back and smile.
Melanie Dragan
Beautiful, free public park. Well maintained. Lots of things to do like paddle boats, kayaks, bike trails, forest hikes, and zoo. It is over 1,000 acres and even bigger than NYC Central Park. You can bring your dog on leash to most places in the park.
Michelle Klein
Beautiful place with so much to do. Went there for the Balloon Glow 2022 and it was spectacular.
Helen Caballero
A great park with so much to offer. The zoo is free. If you are willing to walk, you can also get free parking. The parking near the zoo is $10 per car and worth it. The park and zoo are clean and staff are friendly.
Bryce Garner
A huge park with so many attractions. A great zoo, a good art museum, and we'll manicured grounds. I wish every city had such an amazing park.
Emily Paul
A beautiful park with all sorts of great things to do. Even if you don’t want to do the touristy things like the zoo, museums, docks or theater, you can just take a walk or run and enjoy the sprawling lawns and absolutely stunning foliage. There’s always activity here so people watching is also fun! It’s worth googling what events are happening because that can affect parking and the crowds, but all in all you can’t go wrong visiting the historic park which hosted the world’s fair!
Danielle Abril
St. Louis Bread Co. is my guilty pleasure, lol! I love the food and beverages here; even if they are a little bit on the expensive side. If I am given the choice if where to eat this one always tops the list.
My absolute menu favorites are the Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich and the Tomato Soup! The Chocolate Chipper Cookies are not to be beaten!
As for this particular location, it is an average location. There is no drive-thru. However, there are spots for rapid pick-up and spots where they will bring the food to your car. However, the carside can be a slower option if they are busy.
I like being able to order through the app. However, the app is pretty buggy so that can get frustrating.
Be sure to join MyPanera to get rewards. It's always fun to get something free or get a discount!
gabriella barthlow
Beautiful park with a waterfall and leads to the art museum. Hidden gem
Marina Zhuravleva
Very nice park, lots of things to do. We had a lot of fun paddle boating! Kids enjoyed paddling next to fountains and getting competely soaked. Great view of the museum from the lake.
Dilauda Waggoner
Park was very clean and put together, almost all the animals were out having fun. Had a great time with my husband, and masks were mandated which was helpful
jonda maden
Forest Park is an incredible urban park. When in St. Louis, I'm always blown away at all the incredible options in the park. There are art, natural history, museums, a zoo which are all free and incredible world-class institutions. The natural settings are beautiful. The world Fair pavilion with a waterfall features as beautiful anytime of year. Wide open spaces where you can easily forget you're in an urban area.
Benji Blue
I grew up in St. Louis. Forest Park has so many thing to see. The Muny is one. Perfect place to sit and relax.
Josue Mangual
One of the most beautiful places in St. Louis. Definitely worth the visit. Even if you were to go every day for a week, you will always find something to do. There's a museum and zoo nearby and the park is enormous. I haven been able to walk it all, but what I've seen it's great for the family and even by yourself. Wonderful place.
Lila BURNES
Beautiful park with plenty of activities for you and your family. You can enjoy the zoo, Science Center, Museum, or any of the many events taking place in the park or just pack a lunch and enjoy a picnic in the park. Highly recommend.
Rebecca Jobst
Had a great time at the 50th great ballon race they have alot of stuff to do would recommend
Flo
Beautiful place. Lot of activities to do with your family and friends
Dawn Luken
This is a really nice zoo and it is huge! We were there for 6 hours and still feel like we missed things. We will definitely go back. One of the best aspects is that it is free to the public for the most part. There are extra activities that cost money, but it was nominal and not necessary to still have a very good experience. There were also some different animals here that I had not seen in the other zoos I have been to.
Danielle Y Johnson
Had a nice lunch at the boat house with my daughter, niece, great niece and in-laws and of course the hubby. My great niece feed the fish!!
Michele Williams
Forest Park is a gorgeous and fun-filled park. It contains a little of everything...from the zoo, science center, golf course, ice rink, softball fields, art museum to the history museum. Not to mention the beautiful picturesque sights of Emerson Grand Basin, Art Hill etc. Oh, and the majority of the park venues are free (Science Center, Zoo, History Museum & Art Museum). So....if you're in Saint Louis during spring, summer, fall or winter...take the time to check out Forest Park. It DOES NOT DISAPPOINT.
Mike Schlobohm
I’ve been coming to Forest Park for many years. I can say without hesitation that the park has never looked better. It is absolutely spectacular. Walked for about 3 miles, exploring areas I had never seen before. One beautiful setting after another. Finished off the day with opening night at The Muny. The new stage enhancements are great and the sound system is perfect. The Forest Park Forever campaign is a resounding success story. Thank You!

A sprawling park in the heart of the city, this is a great place to spend a sunny day. Whether you're here for the zoo, paddle boats or the many walking paths, you're bound to have a great time here. I really appreciated the paved paths which make getting around in all weather types much easier. There's lots of parallel parking around, but unfortunately not many traditional parking lots.
Christopher Jones
Always have an amazing time at the St Louis Zoo it's free to enter of course there are things that you can pay to see or do and it's always worth it. The staff there are friendly and more than glad to help. They have so many animals that are so well cared for. It's one of my favorite places to go.
Dylan Sawrie
This park is outstanding. I like in walking distance and come here all the time. There is a lot to explore here. There are so many things to do here, such as the museums and the zoo. The park is beautiful and diverse. I have lived in Saint Louis for two months now and so far this is my favorite place in the city.
matthew hellmich
World class, easily one of the best parks in the United States, you could probably spend a week exploring here and not hit everything. So much to do!
Madeline Ramirez
Beautiful park, beautiful museum of art. Took us 4 hours to walk through most of the exhibits but we were too exhausted to cover them all! Lovely gift shop as well. A must see.
P Russell
Beautiful free park in town! Great views from the art museum and the lake has paddle boats and there are paths. Looks like a nice place to get some fresh air or have a picnic. Parking can be difficult.
Danielle Grota
Nice to drive if you can't walk well. Really busy on a nice day, pretty and well maintained. Had a picnic at one of the pavilions and went to the museum and the zoo. Lots of bikers, walkers, kids and their families around. Only weird thing were tents by the jewel box building.
Kelly Gant
Beautiful park! Lots of awesome trails. Free art museum! The places here are extensive! Restaurant, the muny, golf course, the zoo, art hill, etc etc! It’s a gigantic park! I really appreciate that most of the restrooms throughout the park are almost always open. I also appreciate that the water fountains work.
Gajen Jan
It's a beautiful park with Saint Louis Zoo in it. There is amazing trails to walk around as well. I also like the walking stairs. You get a full workout done just walking there or go the zoo for free and get your steps enjoying the beautiful animals.
Debi Anderson
Forest Park is the Jewel of all parks! From the Muny to the History Museum, from the Jewel Box to the Zoo, and much more you can spend time every day and you will always be able to find something new each visit. I highly recommend you visit at each opportunity! And don't forget to bring the kids! There are many learning and fun experiences for them too!!!

Great walkways, bike paths, museums, and TWO golf courses. I’ve been playing the Highlands lately, and it is just lovely.
Jennifer Tigges
Love that there are so many free things in this park
Shilpa Sanapala
This is the best thing about living in St. Louis. Plenty of things to do and most of them are free.
Trish Gray
Love the Halloween Decorations! Seals and trainers were delightful.
Wendy K
This literally has something for everyone. Zoo, art museum, live shows, wide open spaces. Great place to get grounded in what ignites you.
Don T
Forest Park has been named the #1 city park in the United States in a national poll released April 22, 2022. This photo tells quite the story.
Stanley Johnson
The largest park in the United States. Several events at several venues every year. They take place at different institutions all around the park. Especially during the spring and summer. The park really fills up with visitors from around the STL area and out of town.
There are nice trails for walking, running, and hiking. There are some landmarks along the way. You will not get bored in this park.
Joshua
Very nice park, ran the FPXC Festival so that was great! Beautiful park.
Lana Ray
We are from Southern Illinois and feel so fortunate to have such a wonderful Zoo within a 2 hour drive. My 4 kids, husband and 5 grandsons had a wonderful time visiting. Thanks for helping us make fun memories!
Celeste Devall
This Park is huge. My Mom and I were in the area and decided to go for a "short walk" Famous last words. 😆 We walked for miles but hadn't even noticed because of how beautiful the surroundings were. Trees and flowers of so many different varieties. …
Kerry Downs
Grew up right infront of Forest Park in a well diverse neighborhood back in the Ice age. Still here enjoying the view. Rode many of my horses in this great park & explored all over it & passed out a few times in it as well. Come on I'm only human!! Safe fun party stop for any occasion. Go on explore it yourself!!
Vell Wilborn
Hands down best Zoo I've visited in the country my girls had the most amazing times seeing animal after animal and learning about them my wife and I were pleased as well it was so fun checking out this massive property and all it had to offer will definitely come back again it was amazing!!
Nikole B
I love this park, it is beautiful and spacious and great for people-watching or going for a walk. There is the Art Museum, the History Museum, The Muny, The Jewel Box, the Zoo, the Science Center, The Boathouse where you can rent paddle boats, there are tennis courts, baseball fields, an ice skating rink, a golf course, bike paths, picnic areas... This park is bigger than Central Park in NYC, it's amazing!!
Ni N.
Very nice park. Lot to do and see. Zoo, garden, hike, pond, flowers, museum ... A must see place!
Lavanya Hariharan
It was a beautiful sight to watch trees of different shades
Brandon Eddy
They were recently voted 2nd best city park in the country. The zoo and history center are free and parking along the street is free. You can't beat that. I imagine in the Spring it looks great with all the flowers blooming and fountains running.
Jaddiel Perez
Nice zoo to visit specially because it's free. The train ride is an addition $ but it's worthy. Go early as the animals get tired and go inside as the day progress. A lot of God info on many animals and insects.
manish bhandari
One of the most beautiful place in st.louis. Prefer to go in the night.
Terry Hoppmann
Beautiful, larger and varied park. A .use see
WillyWorld
Everywhere I stepped here I thought to myself, what used to be here in 1904 during the World Fair? So much history! So much to think about. I walked 6.6mi and still didn’t see it all.
Yato やと
Very nice park, I don't really know how it holds up to central park but from the part I've been to in Central Park, I like this better. Less people and (at least the day I went) cleaner too. It's near a lot of attractions.
Day June
So much to do here!! Always a good time. You can find some really nice and shaded walking trails too. Wonderful for walking my pups on a hot day.
Jay
Always a calm park with a lot of activities. It was a great time
Mike D
Great park; we love going to the zoo, the art museum or just hanging out on the park having a picnic, flying kites or racing R/C cars. We enjoyed the paddle boats. Have yet to explore the trails, but look forward to doing that too. As you can tell; it's a great all around family fun park. It's always been very clean, not overly crowded, and a parking spot is always to be found (with a little patience).
Dewayne Hill
Tried getting in at boo at the zoo sold out. So we tried just going to the zoo the next day completely jammed pack didn't go in because of my 2 son's that are legally blind and my sister that's handicapped to far to walk. So hopefully next year.
Megan
Gorgeous! Simply breathtaking! So much to see and do that we didn't get to it all so we will be back!
Sally Simpson
What can I say, other than our city, is blessed with one of the greatest city parks in the nation.
Ian Carroll
Amazing park! Puts so many other parks in other cities to shame.
Mrs. R
Just as wonderful as always. The St. Louis Zoo does not disappoint.
Alice H.Q.
Thought the drinking fountain for humans & pets was great! Also had a spot to refill your water bottle. Lovely paths among the changing foliage.
Candi Cabral
They haven't had any porta potties or outdoor bathrooms for some time. My understanding was they took them away because the homeless were living in them. But if you want to jog in the park and you need to stop and use the restroom you're going to be in trouble.
Fleeing drake 007 ;9
Great place to hangout. I liked visiting the zoo and having a picnic at Art Hill. I also like going on the walking trails. Nice place for chilling.
Allie Star
This is a MUST SEE if you have family over! The walk in the park after enjoying dinner or just for working out is gorgeous.
Spring time or summer is the best time to go!
Brandt Callahan
How anyone can rank this park less than five stars must not appreciate what went into this park and what green space it provides! While in St. Louis, try to make some time to go here either to work out, or to simply have a picnic! This family friendly atmosphere is safe for all patrons, and we will return again!
Joseph Tucker
Awesome park with tons of activities. Zoo always one of the top in the country and is FREE! Awesome science center with fun activities for kids. Free art museum that gets some really cool exhibitions (not always free). Awesome Shakespeare performances during the summer. Great soccer, baseball, softball, tennis, and handball courts. Don't forget the awesome paths and boathouse!
Kevin Montgomery
Awesome Gem of St Louis. A must see. Many things to do there in the summer or winter. (Zoo, art museum, History Museum, Munny outdoor theater, ect...
Bigger than NY Central Park. You can't go wrong visiting this place.
Anoushka Padmane
Forest park is one of my favorite places to visit in St Louis. You have a lot to roam around, there are so many small lakes, ponds and a good scenic view as well. I always enjoy my time with nature here.
Timothy Dorcas
I love this place! Lots of things to do. Fantastic visuals. The best hamburgers in the city are served at the Boathouse. We have a world class zoo. We take the dogs there every weekend and we are constantly finding new trails. We also take our escooters there which is also fun. One of the cool places in St. Louis to check out. And it's FREE!
Kate Burleson
Forest park is a gem. Today we visited the zoo. Its a cold, February day and some exhibits were closed, but we had a great time. There were plenty of animals to see and nice breaks from the cold walki g through indoor exhibits. It was so peaceful and fun. Admission was free, as always. Great way to get our bodies moving on a cold, winter day.
Alisa Jones
We enjoyed our afternoon sitting on a picnic bench in the sun. Explored the art museum, art hill & what locals know as Hippie Hill lol!
Recommend if you are in town.
Flora Grebe
Forest Park St Louis is one of my favorite parks to visit every year. This park is huge and is great also for photography. These are some shots I took today (25 October 2020).
Melissa Green
Forest Park is awesome! My grandson Adus'Ray is 4 now. We love to visit Forest Park just to walk around and relax. He loves running around and having adventures with me and his mommy. There's a lot to see on the grounds of Forest Park. We have to go multiple times because there's no way you can visit and see everything in just 1 day.
Karma Cheri
Such a beautiful place! Perfect for picnics, a cool date...whatever you want. Also very family friendly.
I Aka
Always a lovely place for any outdoor events or indoor festivities at the history museum or other venues. Driving through the park during the day is beautiful!
Kim White
Forest park is a beautiful place
Mackenzie Bliss
Had a wine and cheese picnic for my husband’s birthday and it was lovely! Slightly scared we were going to get attacked by a goose but other than that it was a gorgeous day
Karmen Christlieb
Some of the rangers by the zoo can be unfriendly but most of the time they are very helpful and informative. Easy free parking. Very scenic and spacious. Lots of places to explore.
I always enjoy my visits to Forest Park. Walking trails, bird watching, art museum, history museum, zoo, fountains, unique buildings and sculptures, Ice skating in the winter, paddle boating on the lakes in summer and free events year round!
MAD Cat
I love Forest Park.! It's always beautiful any time of year with all of the sights and sounds of joy and happiness in the air. It's so much fun with all of the birds, the trees, the flowers, and did I mention the birds...the BIRDS!!! . . .🐦 🐈⬛ …
Minnie Moore
Went to an event help at the golf course event building. The building was spacious and clean. The huge meeting room was big enough to accommodate lots of people.
Coleen Hill
St Louis residents are so fortunate to have so many beautiful parks, including Forest Park. We spend a wonderful afternoon at the zoo.
Robert Bassett
I love this park. It has everything for a family with a budget. There is a free zoo, free art museum, almost free ($3.50) science museum, great picturesque views, great walking/biking trails, and more.
Denton Lunsford
Forest Park is beautiful. All the attractions are free admission, so there is no reason not to go! The museums, the zoo, the park itself, are all great. You probably wouldn't be able to see the whole park in one day. Also stunning at night.
Craig Traverson
Beautiful park in St Louis, Mo. We originally came to just visit the Jewel Box and ended up driving around to see most of the Park and spending a few hours at the at museum.
Wrighter Awn
Forest Park and the St Louis Zoo are in the same area and are connected. We loved the whole experience. Parking in forest park is free or you can pay $15 to park closer to the zoo in the zoo's lot. Everything about the zoo is a great destination when in St Louis. It's free and concessions are moderately priced. Very open and enjoyable for both children, 3 and 1. Penguin and bear exhibit were a family favorite.
Nicci
We drove around a bit to kill time before heading to the airport. Absolutely beautiful park. So many things I wish we had more time.
Zena Varea
This is the best zoo I've been to so far. Their exhibits are pretty extensive and I wish I took more pictures. Their indoor exhibits include the penguins, birds, primates, herpetarium, and more. These were the only indoor exhibits I visited. The park is free but the parking is $15 for the whole day. Highly recommended to visit for families due to its friendly children interactive events and train tour.
Maria Ashby
Forest park is a great place to take a walk, long or short. It's also a wonderful picnic spot, whether on Art Hill or many of the other expanses of well kept grass. It's fun to walk the trails and explore - you can walk between the museums and the zoo using the trails. I like to stand still and imagine what it would have been like to be standing in the same spot in 1904 during the World's Fair!
Millie Kwan
Gorgeous park with lots of green space. Larger than Central Park in NYC! Many trails and small gardens within the grounds as well and nice public space at Art Hill. The view looking up at Art Hill and the vista from the top are both very picturesque both during the day and at night. Although I've not been to any live events here, friends have sent pictures and it looks like a blast. Also museums are within the park and they are free. Definitely a must see if you're in St. Louis. Parking seems plentiful but may be challenging at peak times.
Gretchen A.
I could go on and on about Forest Park. When I'm craving a more "manicured" park I suppose I crave the familiarity of Forest Park. I'm going to have to come back to edit this review when I'm ready to really have a go at all I love about coming here or why.
Chris Michels
Forest Park is an amazing place, there is so much to do here, golf, museums, zoo, bike ride, jog, walk, relax enjoy the beauty of the gardens which are everywhere. To see alot of it you really need to have three full days.
Bettikins Sants
This area is stunning! Beautiful landscapes and scenery. The trails are so relaxing and inspiring despite the July heat and humidity. So many places to choose from to just chill and relax. I would definitely visit again.
Harsh Goel
The museums, the zoo, the park, all of them were amazing and involved no cost. You can easily spend an entire day here
Robert Conway
Wow, what an awesome time me and my family had at the St. Louis Zoo! The whole area was so well put together. The zoo itself is absolutely free, but you do have to pay to get into certain areas of the zoo. And, believe it or not, they offer alcoholic beverages and beer at stands throughout the zoo. I mostly only saw these near the entrance, but wow, I can walk around sipping on an adult drink while enjoying some zoo time with my family? That is pretty awesome if you ask me! We had a great time, the animals were out and the temperature was perfect. There was really more zoo than we could see in a day. I would to go back next time I am in that area. Thank you for providing a wonderful place for people to visit and enjoy. There were so many creatures to see and so many environments that were setup to see the different habitats of the animals. My daughter loved the penguins and the otters. They were very active and were great to see. We hope to go back soon and see the rest of the zoo. Also, get a train pass, because it is good all day and helps you get around the zoo easier.
Miranda Steier
Large, lovely park with plenty of trails to walk including along the waterway. The park is home to both the Saint Louis Zoo and the Saint Louis Art Museum. A combination of paid and free parking is available at both of these places and throughout the park. Our visit was in the slower month of January. We wandered through the park and stopped at both the zoo and museum (both offer free entry at all times). We were able to access free parking throughout but can imagine what a draw this lovely area must be in warmer weather when parking would likely be less readily available. We will definitely make a stop here any time we are in the St. Louis area.
Robb Breck
One of the most beautiful parks I've ever been. Its twice as big as Central Park. The #1 zoo in the nation is located here and it's free. Stop by the Muny for a play or the Art museum. The history museum is located here also.
Andre Bouravnev
Lot's of fun memories from this park. You can walk, jog, visit the St. Louis Museum of Art, the Zoo, and a couple of nice food places. The fountain area is ideal for taking wedding and graduation pictures.
Bobbylee Budde
This is a great place the zoo everything was so clean and just nice. I really reckon going to Forest park and going to the zoo and just exploring.
Olivia gailey
There are so many amazing things to do in Forest Park! There is an incredible Zoo that you can go to for free and bring your family. It's a great place to go with kids. Then there is also the jewel box. This is like an indoor tropical garden. The entrance going into The Jewel Garden is beautiful. Once you get inside you can see many tropical flowers plants and vegetation. There are a lot of places to sit. It's also great to go there during a walk through the Park.
There are Trails all along Forest Park where you can walk in anytime. It's great if you want to run jog get some exercise. Go for a walk with the dog. The statues and art throughout the park are gorgeous. There's even a place for golf or tennis courts. there's also a gorgeous fountain along with some other lovely pieces of architecture.
The Muny is an amazing place to go with anyone. Take your parents, grandparents, your kids, your spouse, your boyfriend/ girlfriend.
The Muny is the amphitheater in Forest Park. They do some amazing Productions the Muny. if you come early you may get a free seats in the back rows outside. You will need to arrive early to wait in line. So you can wait in line for the seats and maybe get a blanket to lay on, bring some lunch or dinner, and have a picnic outside on the sidewalk with your family or friends. But then there is also the option of buying tickets. So you don't have to wait in that line and you may get better seats.
Besides that there are still amazing things to do in Forest Park. You should really just come check it out if you haven't been. If you're in St. Louis it's somewhere that you should definitely check out. It should be on your Must Go To list.
the art and history museums also are in Forest Park. Along with running trails, bike trails, hike trails, the jewel box ( which houses many tropical plants), and many other lovely places.
Forest Park is free parking on the sides of the roads and also contains several parking lots. You better watch out for bikes though because this is a very popular place for people to go biking (or running). Several races are also held at Forest Park throughout the year. The Metro Bus also goes through here and makes several stops.
Overall Forest Park is a great place to take your friends and family and even your dog. Or just if you want some alone time come chill and one of the gardens. there are a ton of different things to do here and there's at least one thing for every member of your family. I'm sure you'll have a blast if you come to Forest Park!
Kashi Kagë
Absolutely love Forest Park! It's so beautiful, and it's really big, so there is quite a few places near, and in Forest Park to stop by. The History & Art Museum are among the few, and each one has different events and things to see that they update occasionally. They also have the Zoo, and Boathouse. The boathouse is a restaurant with pretty good food (try the, I think it's called the "boathouse brownie float" it's a really good dessert, and I haven't even tried all their stuff yet)
And on top of good food, there's a paddle boat that holds 4 people and you can ride around all the way to the water infront of the art museum. I believe it's $16 or $20 for an hour of ride time, completely worth it in my opinion. Since Forest Park is so big, people come here daily to exercise; Walking, Running, Bicycling, Jogging, Skating, Ect., It's amazing.
I had one problem with this place, and Only one, but, giving it so many compliments, I honestly forgot what my problem with it was, lol. When I remember, I'll update this later, but, I know for sure, that, whatever it was, it absolutely does not impact the overwhelming great things about this place.
Chad Dierkes
Gorgeous almost anytime of the year, plenty to do here including the zoo, science center, history museum and art museum. All with free entry, if you are visiting St. Louis you must stop at Forest Park. Art Hill in front of the Art Museum is a great place for a picnic in the spring and late summer/early fall, and the winter a unique experience sledding with hundreds of other people.
Tonetta Clay
Forest Park has everything for any person any age such as museums and the zoo. I went out today to enjoy some fresh air and got beautiful pics of the frozen ponds. Very nice park.
Ben L
Simply amazing. I could spend so much time here just walking around and taking in the sights. I didn't have enough time to see everything this park had to offer but would love to one day. I was there on a warm Sunday and there was great parking and very little crowds. All I had was my cell phone to take pictures but they still looked good.
April Marie Washington
Very serene place to go for a walk or jog. You can catch a show at the Muny or sit on the lawn at the Missouri History Museum on Tuesdays in the Spring or Fall and enjoy Twilight Tuesdays! Take a stroll and meditate beside a pond.
Rodney Yoswig
Beautiful location for a photo shoot.
Nooon Nayef
Very beautiful, quite and safe area
Steven Julmus
I've always love to come down to this park. It's beautiful it's a peaceful and there's a lot to do. And you can walk around the whole park daily Gettimg your exercise! You'll love it.
Jessica K
Hands down my favorite place in Saint Louis city. I love being a city resident so close to this gem. Whether it be for exercise, art museum, zoo, history museum, the Muny, boathouse, golf courses, relaxing with a book on art hill or one of the many festivals... This park has it all. I participated in the I Love Forest Park 5k last year ((only 5k in the park that supports the park)) & I can't wait to participate this year as well. Wish there were more activities like this to help support the beautiful park.
Highly recommend any and all festivals in Forest Park. My two favorites are the Film Festival on art hill (every Friday in July) & the Shakespeare festival (June). Both are free & cooler friendly! be sure to get there early if you want a good spot to sit. The Balloon Glow & Balloon Race are two popular events too.
PRO TIP for Zoo goers who don't want to walk a mile or pay $20 for parking. Circle the two parking lots on the left and right of art hill. There is constantly cars coming & going. With a little patience and maybe three laps around the lot, you'll get great parking just a short stroll away from the zoo for free.
LA Carrasco
Big and beautiful park. Lost to see and do. The St Louis Zoo is here and the entrance is free. They have some exhibits and activities that have small fee to them. The zoo is big and they have plenty of animals for you to see. They have areas for private parties, birthdays, weddings, ect. A lot of beautiful areas for photo shoot. The Museum was closed at the time we were there so we couldn't go in and see it but that's another place to see there.
Jeffrey Lowe
Had a great time with my dog walking around Jefferson Lake and the Planetarium! Lots of cool stuff to see on a beautiful day!
George Mottu
Beautiful venue but can get a bit crowded in a nice day. Many photo opportunities at many fountains but some fountain are used to "cool" the local population in warm days making it difficult to utilize.
gregory kramer
Clean area
Ample lighting
Trash cans near lake and muny parking
Reanee Stainback
This is always a good place to visit one of my favorites, not many animals to see especially in the children zoo. You have to reserve the shows and its limited capacity.
Christi Mischeaux
One of the best parks in the Nation. Forest Park is beautiful, so many places to take scenic strolls & great paths for runs and walks. There are a ton of FREE attractions such the top rated zoo, art & history museums, and the Science Center. There is something here for everyone!
Will Studer
This is the most amazing public city park in the world. There are beautiful waterfalls, a golf course, a beautiful lake, a free art museum, a free zoo and often free concerts.
The park was created as the site for the 1904 World's Fair. It was the original location of Skinker Swamp which was dredged and the entire area was re-landscaped to become a premiere park for the citizens of the city of St. Louis.
There are so many free activities here and it's just plain beautiful. I proposed to my wife on Art Hill. It is a wonderful place for picnics or any kind of outing.
Friend of Jesus
Forest Park is really beautiful, lots of trails, and natural beauty. Only problem is it's so busy, lots of people around. I prefer my solitude in nature, but that's Ok.
Tim Jewell
Amazing park with lots of free attractions, the Jewel Box greenhouse foyer is a great place to cool off on a hot day. It is a small greenhouse, the.architectural style of the building is impressive and the surrounding grounds are great!
Tia Carter
This park is beautiful and has so much to offer all in one park! So much different landscaping to explore!
Samantha Fisher
Great family experience at the hot air balloon event
Claire Moll
Forest Park is amazing. So much green space and paths to explore. There are soccer fields, baseball fields, watercraft rentals, and walking and running paths. Great place to spend the day and have a picnic. Only a 15 min drive from downtown. Could spend the whole day there exploring the park and museums within the park. This was one of the highlights to my trip to St. Louis!
Anna Kortukov
Monet like views, plenty of parking and walkways. The best place in St Louis to enjoy the vibe of a big city with multicultural population and man-made landscapes.
Amy Moore
We visited twice this week while on vacation. This park is beautiful! We ate a picnic lunch both times and let our kids play at the playground. They LOVED both the playground and water play area there! So much fun!
Carla Webb
This park is amazing. You could spend a whole weekend here and not do everything. The grounds are well maintained. There is a zoo, art museum, science center and history museum in the park just to name a few. Parking seems to be the biggest issue but with some many points of interest that are free, the park is going to draw a crowd.
Tracey/Len Tippett
The night visit was awesome. They have set up for Halloween. A day trip is also highly recommended.
Ron Richmond
The last Louis Zoo is still a wonderful place to visit even during the pandemic. They have you make reservations so that the number of people in the park are limited. Wearing masks in the zoo is still a must for personal safety.
Karla Turner
Great day to be out at the zoo only allowed 2000 in at a time. Doing what they can to keep all safe. Cards only no cash. Pleny of sanitizer for all at every exhibit.
Clare
It is a beautiful park. I run here as often as I can. I have to give kudos to all the Forest Park employees for doing such a great job keeping our park clean and beautiful! They need to pat themselves on the back for doing an extraordinary job! I do appreciate their hard work especially in the heat!!
Amy Cline
Beautiful gardens, great walking trails! Looking forward to other parts opening up. The three small snakes we saw were a bonus. :)
Daniela Sanchez
Great place to meet new people, go on a picnic or do any outdoor activity. They always have events in the summer that can be family friendly. Also, there are many attractions near by. This is one of the best places to visit in St.Louis. My first date with my husband was actually here at forest park.
William Wright
We visited the arch and we're underwhelmed by St. Louis. Fortunately, our Lyft driver could not recommend Forest Park enough. We ended up going and wow. What a beautiful park. There's tons to do, from a zoo to the beautiful remnants of the 1904 World's Fair. How stunning.
Christopher Fox
Went to Zoo and had a great day. Parks are clean and good for walking and biking. Most people are very friendly
Cam Coppelli
Forest Park provides the premiere outdoor experience in St. Louis. Countless acres play host to activities like golf, man-powered boating, cycling, roller blading, running, walking, racquetball, tennis and so much more. Not to mention diverse ecosystems, idyllic vistas, famed public exhibits (art, history, zoo), and just about any other park-offering you could desire. One of my favorite features is the six mile perimeter loop. It contains a paved route for road cycling and a parallel gravel route for running.
Kathleen Moyer
Went to the Boathouse for lunch. They have excellent food and drinks. It's a beautiful peaceful place to sit outside on the water and feed the ducks. Must try the Poached Pear Salad, and the Falaffel.
Rhiannon Poolaw
Forest Park is a must see in St Louis. It's a beautiful lush green Oasis in the middle of what is otherwise a hustling and bustlin city. Get there early to avoid having to pay for parking. There is so much in the park to enjoy that the whole family is sure to enjoy it. From the zoo, science center, and history center to fishing, hiking, and biking there is something for everyone. Check out the fountains and learn more about the 1904 World's Fair at the pavilion. The jewel box houses a variety of plants. It's huge sprawling grounds and most activities are free or cheaply priced so that they are accessable to everyone. You could easily spend days here checking out all there is to offer. Near downtown.
Allison Schubert
So much is packed into this park from a science museum to golfing. And everything that we could find was free. Any kind of indoor facilities close by 4:30p on weekdays though. And any motorized scooters go a max of 5mph in park.
Catrina Lynch
Forest park is the best place for family fun! The Forest zoo is the best zoo I've ever been to. The zoo is huge and has free admission! Get there early because this is an all day adventure. I've never seen such a variety in animals.
anita Starlite watson
Worlds fair pavilion every memorial day weekend. The African Arts Festival is a must for me. Its 28yrs strong and I have gone every year for the past 20 yrs..I love to see all of our people together..drama free..good food..great products . CULTURE..thanks to all the volunteers and vendors..
Matthew Meinen
We visited the St. Louis Zoo, which is ALWAYS a great experience....especially with a 3 year old in tow. They love the animals. They love the experience. They love the zoo. I LOVE that it is a free zoo....can't beat that!
Lucy Rose Fox
The zoo was fantastic but they need more animal activities and cooling areas
Arman Shoraka
Huge park, great photography spot for a bunch of different photo shoots. Lots of people biking, walking, running.
Chasadi Mackey
Beautiful zoo with great exhibits. Animals look well cared for. Grounds are nice & so much to see. Thoroughly loved our visit.
Tim Pote
Such a great treasurer in St. Louis! Nearly 1400 acres of multi-use park for all to enjoy. Beautiful run on the miles of trails and roads with a quick stop at the information center to refill the water bottle!
River Lady
Amazing place. Great for walking, bike rides and even kayaking or boats. They have a boat rental place. There is also the history art museum and its free.
Keri Thibeau
Wonderful park. My first time to Missouri and coming to this park was great. Lots of spots to explore, have a picnic, walk around, or just enjoy some of the spots nearby like the zoo or the St Louis Art museum. This is definitely a spot you need to stop while in St Louis.
Phillip Dilallo
I love sharing this place with my kids. It's beautiful year round and there is so much to do, like the zoo, art museum, boats, walking trails, hanging out at art hill, and so much more. The boat house is a great place to hang out that is dog friendly also.
Tea Errors
The zoo is huge! I was there from 11-5 (closing) and still didn't see everything! Souvenir and food prices are a lot more reasonable than most places too. The art museum is also incredible - well spaced out and the different sections flow into each other very well
Clayton Kreisel
What an amazing park!!! Where should I begin?
First off almost everything is free except the Muny and even that can be free if you play your cards right. Just look up the free ticket policy for people that show up to the Muny.
The Zoo is incredible. They have penguins, sea lions, tigers, lions, polar bears, giraffes, zebras, a monkey house, a walk through bird cage, gorillas and so much more. All FREE!!! Sure there a lot of things you can buy inside but you certainly don't have to. Also there is always free parking in the park and shuttles that take you to the zoo, so don't get wrangled into the paid parking. It isn't that much better of a spot when it is all said and done.
The Science Center is a little dated but still fun. Usually they have a couple exhibits and always have stuff about plants, dinosaurs, fuels, architecture, etc...
The Art Museum is also free and high quality.
The park itself is huge and really nice. A lot of walking trails and open space to play. Lots of soccer and softball fields too. Then there are fun things like the 1904 World's Fair Pavilion, just a bit of History (Meet Me in St. Louis)...
A ton of fun and a great way to spend an afternoon.
Ranee Clark
Beautifully landscaped park with lots of fountains, waterfalls, trails, great architecture buildings (both old & new) & monuments. Also home of The StL Zoo (free), Planetarium and The MO History Museum which features many, monuments, free exhibits, all educational, historical & awe inspiring plus a gift shop. The Civil Rights Exhibit was educational & humbling. I give Forest Park & its many features "2 Thumbs up AND a Pinkie"!
Mary Middleton
On the front side of the Muny. What a peaceful place to escape, hang out with someone close to you, or take a stroll in the drizzling rain. Forest Park has many things to do and to take part of, not to mention the boat ride
Marcos Calderon
In my opinion the best zoo in the middle east, free entry but you have to pay for shows and the train. Food is kind expensive but you can bring your water and snacks, nobody check at the gates, even your strollers are welcome. Exibitions were as advertised. Animals looks in a good shape and have their food. The interaction with them was a plus and delightful opportunity yo see them in action. The parking gets full very fast so you can park around and walk
Tabor McBride
We love walking our two pups thru the water features! Such a beautifully manicured park, with tons of trash cans for our pets waist 😉 …
Madelyn Boyne
So much to do! So much to see!
Big fan of the 6-mile paved asphalt loop, plus Shakespeare Glen, Art Hill, the History Museum, Science Center...
Joe
A must visit for every tourist and relevant. A beautiful park steeped in history.
Jayce
They have many animals. Such as wild cats, birds, reptiles, and more cool animals. They have areas to get food or even dip in dots ice cream. You can even go through an area where there is water on top and all around you. Where there are fish and sea lions. They also pet the stingrays and a baby shark too.(Stingrays have their stingers removed) You may be lucky to pet the baby shark. He don't come to people a lot. If you love animals then you may enjoy this place. They have lots of animals that you may enjoy to see.
Robert Russell
Beautiful place to visit. Bring your camera. Gotta see the zoo, Art museum and the Missouri history museum. Catch a show at the Muny theater then go ice skating at Steinbergs. You could also take in the science center and the Jewel box. Park is filled with trails.
Scott Mitchell
Very beautiful place to relax and kick back in the middle of the city. Lots of biking and walking paths. Fishing in some of the lakes is available.
Jourdan Myles
Kind of crazy that as big as forest park is there aren't any basketball courts but awesome views for walks and bike rides
Rob
Awesome park for the entire family. Forest park is almost twice the size of New York City’s Central Park. Many things to see and always some event taking place. This is also the site of the 1904 St. Louis Worlds Fair.

Beautiful view from the art museum!
Lisa Rigg
Amazing park. Free museums. Great running/ riding paths. Beautifully landscaped grounds with waterways and fountains.
OriginalRaindeerman
Very pretty with a lot of cool stuff to see and do. Unfortunately it was super packed. Great place though!
Bishwaranjan Karmakar
All time favorite park in st louis city. I'd love to see restroom near the park or the mobile restrooms to be cleaned regularly!
Charity Powell
The best park in the area. Tons of upgrades have been made and all it did was improved on an already gorgeous park.
Might see wild turkeys, might see deer- no matter what you will see beauty

Magnificent miles in Saint Louis
lellieu
Beautiful park, even just to stroll around
Jordan Petersen
Lots of cool spots to stop along a bike ride. Fountains, statues, memorials... Really decent spot that's a must do for STL.
Mia Calicutt
There’s so much to do here. GO VISIT! It’s definitely one of the main attractions in St. Louis. GO VISIT. Have a picnic, go paddle on the lake, go see fancy art and intriguing history, go watch silly animals. Find an event to do around the park. Get some fresh air, enjoy the Sun… just GO VISIT!
Brandon Williams
Forest Park was really pretty and unique to walk around ! The Art museum, zoo , science museum, and many other sweet museums are fun to see
David Schne
Forest Park is a Jewel. This place is filled with things to see and do for every man, woman, and child alive., The STL Art Museum, World Class STL Zoo, The Muny Opera, Jewel Box, a fabulous public Golf Course, The Planetarium, Steinberg Ice Skating Rink, miles and miles of trails, fields for every sport, tennis courts, a couple small lakes including one to paddle boat on and one to fish in, acres and acres of woods to stroll through, countless areas to picnic, and more. Forest Park is one of the largest urban parks in the USA at over 1300 acres. By the way, most of the attractions are free!
Today was the annual Great Forest Park Ballon Race.
If you are in St. Louis you must go. If you are from STL and you don't go to the park you're crazy. No matter the season there is something to do in FP.
Simply beautiful and magnificent. Forest Park is not to be missed.
We love and support it and hope you will do the same.
Enjoy!
Andrew Harper
Forest park is beautiful all around and, one of the chillest places to go for a daily run or even a family picnic. Also these were taken by me on my iPhone 8. Any photographers in need of an understudy?
Abigail Brown
Wonderful day overcast and cool.
Excellent exhibition of the animals.
Big thanks to all the people who work hard everyday to take care of the animals.
Nan Lien
Great art museum. Beautiful building and history from the 1900 worlds fair.
Daniela Ortiz
Had a wonderful time. You can really spend the whole day here.Went to the zoo and all three museums.Make sure to bring money for the trolley($2 for adults all day pass) and good at different areas in the park.
Melinda Belville
Loved this! Something so natural so close to a big city. Saw lots of elk but didn't see the bison unfortunately but they are there. Ducks, geese, lots of birds. Free and exciting for those that love nature.
Salar Alam
A wonderful place to spend a free day. Beautiful vistas and scenery. You can walk around in the park or even rent bikes. A very good spot for a picnic or just a casual walk.
Linda Lawrence
Went to opening night of Joseph and the spectacular techno-colored coat. Not what I was expecting but amazing such a great performance,. The voices were phenomenal, every person on stage looked as if they were enjoying themselves as much as we were. It was a magical night enjoyed with friends.
Janki Chalise
Best park in saint louis. If you are in saint louis its a must visit. Very beautiful and well maintained park. There is also a museum which has free entry in the park also a boathouse saint louis zoo.you can easily spend a day with no regret.
Manoj Nayak
Visited the Visitor Center in Forest Park as a stop for my Route 66 Passport. Plenty of parking and a gorgeous park with plenty of waking, hiking or biking trails! Definitely well worth the visit!
Nathan Bargren
Very cool place to walk around! Honestly wish I brought my bike since there's so much to it!
Victoria Whitebread
Honestly this park feels like a miniature version of Central Park, a gorgeous space located in the heart of a huge city. All the buildings and amenities they had to offer only added to the appeal, such as the zoo and the art museum. You could easily spend an entire day or even a whole weekend at this park. I couldn't get enough of it!
Robin Rodgers
Kids loved it here it's free and u can bring your own drinks and food to cut cost friendly zoo keepers to talk to and learn new things wear your walking shoes for sure big place
Robert Dawson
Amazing! Lots to do and see. Family friendly and safe environment. Museums, a zoo, paddle boats, very informational visitor center, cafe, tram ride, and more. Very affordable.
Deedee Chatty
We walked along the Park prior to going to the Zoo. Forest Park is beautiful in its early morning glory lol before it gets packed with tourists and locals. My 2 year old loved running along the trails and thought the Zoo was the best thing to ever happen to her!!!
Brenda Swift
Behold God's beauty. During this time of year, you can't go wrong choosing to walk in Forest Park. The season change is beautiful and it's still well populated. This is after all the rainy days.
Gabrielle Standley
This weekend was our first time here! Totally awesome atmosphere! We were at the fountains and all sorts of kids were swimming, and right down the street there was live music! Can't wait to go back and explore more!
rocker dad5150
I visited Forest Park to attend a relatives Wedding on the 9th.
The Jewel Box was very unique. As we arrived, we wandered about in awe at the water features, they were well maintained, very inspiring. However, while viewing the Korean War memorial I noticed that the American flag and the POW flag appeared to be in a state of disarray as they were both torn and dangling from the pole, as the other flags were not. I assume it was either vandals, weather or lack of employees.
Joy Kaurin
We love the zoo! 14.95 buys the adventure pass and lets you see the shows, ride the train and more. On a budget? Free admission and you can skip the "extras" if you don't want to buy a pass.
Steven Baldwin
The best public park I've ever been to. Absolutely massive park with so many things to do, 98% of it being totally free. Have spent countless hours here with countless more to come!
TheInfamousCK1 THEInfamousONE
Great fun clean park. Great for kids, can have crime around the area so keep your situational awareness up. Definitely worth going to if you haven't gone before.
Coffee Stain
A nice park that I only probably experienced 25% of. Great for kids and families. There was one incident where some shirtless thug shouted "come back and suck my d" at a group of women walking by as I was eating lunch with my family and friends. So, if you're a woman maybe don't go it alone. It was beautiful but I was quickly reminded that it is still St. Louis afterall. Stay aware.
Sherri
An overwhelmingly big place to spend the day! There's so much to do here. You can hike, boat, bike, go to the botanical garden, or watch a movie!😁 …
Brandon Ward
Great Green Space! We have been to many events here and it never disappoints. The parking can be a little wild, but you just have to arrive early.
Chris Herring
Went to the St.Louis Zoo. Employees were very helpful and friendly! Animal displays were nice however some like the sloth and others were too small. Somw of the animals were also alone. I have no doubt they are getting world-class care, but some could use companionship of their own species. The sloth, orangutan, rhino and others seemed sad.
The grizzly, polar bears and hippos on the other hand seemed to be enjoying themselves immensely.
The concessions seemed reasonably priced. Train car seats for anyone of size and or height were too cramped.
Overall good visit.
Istvan J. Ladanyi
Awesome clean place to come and sit on the lawns and enjoy the spring air.. lawn is well manicured.. no need to bring a blanket to sit on.. Fountains are wonderful to look at.. giving a sense of water and space..
Very relaxing.. even Spiderman came out for photos.. later he was joined by Dr Strange... lol..
Melanio Enero
a great city park. one of those wise decisions many decades ago to dedicate public space for the people of St. Louis. from the free zoo to the planetarium. there's many things to do and many events hosted throughout the year. a gem for sure. best of all its a great place for a walk or a run.
Ryan Propst
Seems like a great place that you could spend even more than one day at touring all the sites, museums, walking / running trails and whatnot. Unfortunately we had a limited time there and didn't get to see the whole park.
Vib Mehrotra
Loved this park. Great place to visit with friends and family. Lot of activities to do here. If you want to visit the various museums then make advance reservations.
Angela Cotton
Love Forrest Park nice recreational park.Very pleasant environment peaceful an very great place for family to go.Pleasant shall I say love it Thank God
Ryan Johnson
The Zoo is beautiful. We had blast despite the rain there were still quite a few animals to see.
michele briggs
We always love the zoo! Our family makes several trips a year. Friendly staff, clean habitats, healthy animals. The animals look well cared for. They are always making improvements & adding habitats. There's always lots to see.
Robert P.
Fantastic place to exercise. Seems safe to me, but I'm an athletic white man. I never got hassled here for so much as a petition signing. It is very peaceful.
Alton Moreland
Beautiful golf course! We'll maintained with 3 different 9 hole courses! Played here for a company tournament and had a blast!
Serena Gehlhausen
Beautiful park. You can drive in the park and check things out. Beautiful scenery.
— “Muskrat Steve” —
Beautiful place to visit and each time we go, there are new sites to see. It's a great place to walk with the kids, your pets, or your significant other.
Cody Collins
So much to do! Kid friendly or adult oriented depending on what you want to do. Well maintained by the public. The zoo is free and fun, and a must see destination in St. Louis.
עו״ד יניב פרץ משפט פלילי, מנהלי וזכויות אדם
You will find a magical park here.. Amazing for walks and picnics
Christine Noblin
Spent a long wet day at the St. Louis Zoo. I Love the Zoo, as there are so many new things to do, it's just ashame that other things to see n do seem to be suffering.
Buildings with gutters over flowing when it rains. The train tunnels just about choke you to death with fumes. My husband n grandson went into reptile building they were disappointed with only 2 reptiles, in the whole house that's all they saw. Even the Carousel is needing help.
It Truly hurts seeing a St. Louis Icon like the Zoo lacking.
Antoine Simms
This is a very very nice park. My family and I had a family day at this park on a Sunday. It was so quiet and relaxing. Security was present, people jogging, it was really enjoyable. I hadn't been to this park in years, but I will frequent more often just to relax.
Jennifer Sedam
Love it but they need to keep the protesters out of it because you have family and you walk it and you do things and when you're at that Park you want to enjoy the park not b**** about politics they need to keep it out other than that great Park great family organated park
Sandy E
Love this area. Lots of shade or sun which ever you prefer. A great place to relax and visit. Have a little xtra time?? Go to the Art museum.
Caleb McNaughton
Amazingly beautiful and wide open! So many free things to do! I went on a roller blade extravaganza and had a blast!
Peg Clark
Free and wonderful. Found something new each time I stopped in. One of the best zoos in the country and it shows. Folks working are happy campers too ☺️
Joyce Ross
Attended the St Louis African Arts Festival,. Great event celebrating the achievements and success of the African diaspora.
Pàm Reithmaier
Nice area in middle of the city. Walk, ride, boat ride, golf. There is a zoo, art museum, history museum, flower gardens, theater, restaurant, science center, picnic area, open fields. Plenty of restrooms.
sanjeet chandra garimella
Great place for family hangout, birthday party celebrations, walk/run/jog. Has kids play area. Oh, great location for pictures and photo shoots too!
Ben Roberts
There is so much to do in Forest Park you could spend an entire day there and never see the same thing twice. There are roller blade trail/bike trails, a golf course, and the Saint Louis zoo which is free to enter. During the summer months there are tons of events throughout the park, which are kid friendly, I would highly recommend taking the family there for a picnic. If you haven't been to the Saint Louis zoo it is a must, did I mention that it's free!
Justin Pearson
Beautiful park located just west of downtown St. Louis! If I could give this park 10 stars, I absolutely would! Very easy to get to via the St. Louis metro railway.. just take the west bound rail all the way to Forest Park station, go up the stairs and take an immediate left. There is an all accessible paved path that is shared with bikers, runners, walkers, and families. I recommend going to the zoo, as it is free, and the zoo is very impressive. It may take some time to navigate through, however. There needs to be more signs giving clearer directions as to which way all the attractions are. If could spend an entire weekend here, I would. I will most definitely be back!
Kevin Hacker (Khacker)
Went to wild lights at the Zoo. Pretty spectacular. Just needed a little snow to make it perfect. Added some photos.to keep the Christmas spirit.
Robb Lappe
A beautiful spring day exploring Forest Park. So many wonderful sights and smells.
Trisha Driskell
The playscape was beautiful. Lots of people though. Not very clear of signage to get there, took a minute of driving.
Joey R.
This park is huge with tons of different areas to explore, but all of them are beautiful, it is super close to the hospital so a great place to stretch the legs or take a nap or picnic. The Nature Playscape is really a neat concept with rocks and trees and water all put together to make a "playground", like a giant sand box, toddler approved!
SHAILESH KARRE SATYANARAYANA GUPTHA
Amazing zoo in USA. This is one of the best ZOOS i visted so far. Amazing penguins, seals and polar bears. Grizzly bears is must to see.
And big cats, especially cheetahs are treat to eyes.
Shawn Evans
This park his HUGE and very beautiful. I'd say one of the nicest parks in Missouri. It's very clean and soooo much to do. There are trials and
Marie P-R Koehlinger
Beautiful, artful, peaceful, a place of solace in so many different niches at this park. The botanicals along a sleepy creek flowing under bridges and along side walking paths and sweeping green lawns bring joy at every turn!!
Just Sayin'
The Jewel Box at Forrest Park. Beautiful setting for a wedding and reception! Here are a few pics during a wedding/reception I attended at the Jewel Box that shows an awesome photobooth set up inside by a local company called Top Notch Photobooth. It was a really magical experience for myself. I know it had to be a dream for the bride and groom!
Sue Savage
Great park, lots of things to do, great bike/walking paths.
Ivy Frazier
We did our 40 year anniversary photo shoot..It was AWESOME...THANKS TO AG PHOTO IN NORTH OAKS SHOPPING CENTER ON NATURAL BRIDGE....
David Hults
I always love the big outdoor space here. Thank you to all the people and organizations that make Forest Park possible!
Nate Coates
The scooters were so fun to ride around Forrest Park, although they are pricey. The art meuseum is free and there are very old items in there.
Melanie
We attended an African Heritage Festival at Forest Park
Phyllis Pigford
I absolutely love this Park and plan to go back, one day just wasn't long enough to experience it all!
Phoebe Ochei
By the golf court there was this waterfall and it was talking about how they discovered the underground water and at first it wasn't that beautiful but then they start scoping the area and it was just gorgeous and I saw all these tiny insects just buzzing around so of course I had to play my music and just watch nature I feel almost like I was in a fairytale really majestic
Daniel Henroid
Largest municipal park in USA with over 1,800 acres. Excellent FREE zoo, art museum, history museum and science centet
Joe Dietrich
Beautiful park full of a variety of activities and sights to see
Liz Lansdown
This is an amazing place a real jewel of the city. The Zoo, Museum and Gallery are a wonderful bonus and have free entry. Thus making this area and all year round place to visit. If you are in St. Louis visiting this is a must place to go.
S&S Property Management& Maintenance
Omg this park is one of the most beautiful places in St. Louis. Featuring lots of family events all summer long every year. You should walk thru you will love it I promise ♥
Bobby Dixon
The biggest and best park I've ever been to. It's huge and has a lot of attractions. The zoo science museum etc.
Nadia Haywas
The Jewel Box in the park is a most unusual greenhouse. It is very small but one of a kind. There is a fountain down the middle which is rarely turned on because the greenhouse is often used as a wedding venue. The surrounding area offers a reflecting pool and beautifully landscaped walkway. The Korean war memorial is a short walk away.
Ruth Queathem
Zoo was great. 4 mature adults had a great time. The highlight was seeing 2 hippos swimming underwater.
John Kent
Like Central Park with less crime. Honestly the zoo is really nice and free, they have the boat house for decent food by the water, plenty of open area, paths etc. Nice place.
3Bros in the cosmos
Forest Park is home to the St. Louis zoo. The zoo is rated one of the best zoos in the US and it is free. It is clean and the animals are well cared for.
DW Palme
Everyone talks about NYC Central Park, but I have been there and I'll tell you this; it pales in comparison to Forest Park. Period. This is a place that everyone can find something enjoyable to do.
K P (wstd_metal)
Hands down the best city park I have ever been to. Missouri History Museum, St. Louis Zoo, the Science Center, Art Museum, And the Muny (a 101 year old11,000 seat outdoor theater), all Free to any visitors. Residents or Visitors! There are about 1500 of the seats that are free at the Muny but the productions are always excellent. The Zoo is year after year voted one of the best in the country. There are tons of pavillions, picnic areas, and walking / running trails. The Golf course is also very reasonably. Hungry? Try the restaurant at the boathouse and while you are there take out a boat and get one of the best views of Art Hill ant the park has to offer. There is so much to do here. If you have a family and are in the area come to Forest Park and enjoy our zoo and museums for free. Where else can you do that?
Lawrence Q Hu
Possibly one of the, if not the greatest, parks in America. Golf, food, art, the STL Science Center, the STL Zoo, more food, chess, the Central West End, the Delmar Loop, it's all right there. Not to mention the Muny, the wildlife, and the gorgeous landscaping. This is one of the reasons why St Louis is so amazing and honestly, it's really underrated. Even though it's packed with people on a nice afternoon, it's still underrated.
Richard Kestenbaum
An awesome playground with interesting activities and well kept. Kids 2+ really like it and are engaged for a long time.
Viviana Ghiglino
Love ❤️ this place. I could spend a lot of hours there in the middle of the nature, great views of the sunset, highly recommended 👌 …
Alisa Blacknall
You'll definitely need many days to explore this wonderful park.
Samira Ak0k0
beautiful park...just beautiful...many places to lay out a blanket and catch nature in 3D
Kelly Mesle
Always a great time at the Great Forest Balloon Glow and Race!
Will Oestreich
Such a great zoo. The fact that is free is even better. No matter what your income you can expose your children to animals from around the world. Lots of trees and green places are ideal for picnics. Animal exhibits allow you good views while remaining safe. The employees we interacted with were kind and helpful.
Yvette Domke
Most beautiful christmas lights. Dinner with Santa was fantastic. The event coordinator, Miranda was amazing and truly saved our Christmas!! Food was good. Walking thru the park with the fire pits and smores was so much fun! This is our 4th time and we're planning on going back again and again...
Idania Duncan
One of St. Louis's best kept secrets. A beautiful park with world class museums and a zoo, and they are free! Lovely for a picnic, or a stroll. One of the best cafe mocha's in town at the visitors center cafe. Or go paddle boat on the scenic waterway and catch a spectacular view of St. Louis himself in front of the art museum.
Angela Tsavdaris
Loved the park and the St. LOUIS art museum.
Sam Mentesana
This is a fantastic zoo! We love to visit nature centers, zoos, and such. St Louis has one of the best zoos you'll ever visit, and we have visited many.
Meranda Breece
A great place for all sorts of wild life and at a great price too! Free! I've been coming to this zoo since I was a child and always waiting for what the facility brings next.
Christine Morgan
Do not miss this gorgeous park with amazing museums and views! Worth dedicating an entire day to enjoying a variety of educational and enjoyable museums, walking trails, picnic areas, lake, gardens, and musicals at the Muny. We visited gorgeous July day and the park was packed, limited available free parking, though paid parking available at museums. Worlds Fair Pavillion was scenic and surrounded by gardens, but the Pavillion itself has nothing of note to see. Art Museum and Zoo particularly enjoyable. Never felt unsafe enjoying the park, felt rather like an island in itself rather than in the middle of a metropolitan urban area.
Christopher Anders
It's fall time. Leaves are changing. Nice place to go for a Saturday zoo Is close by and the art museum. Must go see
Stephanie Fritz
The jewel of St. Louis!!!! Beautiful walking and biking paths and a free, world-class Zoo, Science Center, and Art and History Museums!!!
Michael Frodyma
Forest Park is a St. Louis classic destination. On a warm day it will be crowded with everyone walking, biking and golfing. Between the zoo and two museums it’s an outdoor and indoor destination. Forest Park is my go to afternoon biking or walking location.
Victoria Ferrell (Vicky Baby Tater Tot Bug)
I love the James s McDonald planetarium I have not been here in a very long time. It was wonderful to see the old place looking exactly as it did the first time I saw it when I was 10!
Chavette Terry
First time visiting awesome experience we didn't see whole park, the part we did see was beautiful we truly enjoyed are selves we will come back next year
Kobi Key
Easily the nicest park around, complete with multiple attractions
Yossi Negrin
Amazing park with so many things to do. A must place to visit!
Paula S
Went on a holiday weekend, it was crowded but the entire family had a lot of fun at the zoo and we walked across the bridge to the science museum
TiKeysha Barnhart
Us St Louisans really undervalue what we have with this amazing park. In addition to the beautiful greenery and and various walking paths, the park houses the zoo, science center, and art museum, all which can be visited for FREE. The boathouse and golf course are also reasonably priced and provide unique views and enjoyable experiences. One of the top 3 parks in the city.
NoBrain NoGain
Weather is so nice. View is so good. I really love this park. Zoo's Entrance is too. The objects are very COOL ! !
Chrissye Marie
St Louis Zoo is Free!! 10.00 for parking. It is one of my favorite places in the whole country to visit. Lots to see and do for all ages.
Joel G
Awesome park!!! SOO big and so much to do! A zoo, museums, golf, trails, gardens, etc. Could spend DAYS exploring Forest Park 🏞️ …
Daniel Barnes
Can't really say much more. Great outdoor park, ball fields, playground, bike paths, jogging path, pinic area and pavilions, plays, concerts, museums, zoo, ...take that central Park, ny.
Ernest Tillman
Had a great night at Boo at the Zoo! Great family event, check it out if you want to have a great night at the Zoo with the family!
W L
The Jewel Box isn't that much to see... think it's for more event type of a venue... Still pretty and a historical mark to check out.
John Linderman
Fantastic place for walking and enjoying the outdoors. Went on the "heels"trail on a warm day late February and really enjoyed it. Trails are just part of the gem that is Forest Park.
Xavier Roundy
Nice park. Well kept and nice paths. Clean and open. Good place for exercising. Nice free zoo near the park. The zoo is really nice for being free and there are lots of cool animals. Good place to take kids if you don't know what to do.
Alexander Hohmeyer
Art museum, stl zoo , huge park , golf course, public and private events all the time, Ice skating in winter, turtle park across from the zoo is awesome, the muny, the jewel box, St. Louis science center(a lot for kids), Missouri history museum, you can find something for everyone here
Glen Burgess
Forest Park among even earlier history was also the former grounds of the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair grounds. The Art Museum (which is excellent) is one of the remaining Fair exhibit buildings. The lower reflection pools. You could spend a couple of days checking out the Art & History Museums and the Zoo (all of these are free to the public). You want to make the park a priority of your visit to St. Louis.
Hope Wills
Forest Park is the jewel of St Louis. You can ride your bike, visit the zoo or art museum and go paddle boating at The Boathouse all in an afternoon if you choose. Can get crowded at big events such as 4th of July.
Kyle Koelling
Good park. Always something to do here with the zoo, museums, jewel box, science center, the Muny. Forest Park has everything
Phil Patterson
This is the best public space in St. Louis. There are so many different places to wander around, get lost, find a new spot, check out a free zoo, museums. Saint Louis has put in a lot of money in improving the grounds to make this a national treasure.
Tiffany Jones (TiffTiff)
Had a great time at the zoo will be going back all summer!!!!
Sarah Gist
Red rocks part of the zoo with lion and tigers, plus original train station and surrounding gardens that could rival the botanical gardens.
John Foughty
Forest Park is truly the Jewel of St Louis. It has everything: incredible zoo, art museum, and history museum (all with free admission), countless bike and walking paths, an excellent golf course, tennis courts, baseball/softball diamonds, basketball courts, ice skating rink, the beautiful Jewel Box, and plenty of scenic vistas... Forest Park has enough attractions to keep you and the family coming back again and again.
T McLaughlin
Fantastic experience every time. Will keep coming back with family.
Funny Joe
Forest Park is great. Lots to do and lots for free. The zoo is awesome and can be totally free. You have to pay for some things like the train and Children's Zoo section but that's optional. So many great things to see without spending a penny. The Art Museum is also free. There is golf and lots of trails. The Science Center is great and also free with a pay parking lot across hwy 40 and a free one in Forest Park. I wish the free one was bigger. We love the Zoo and buy a membership every year which supports the Zoo and saves money on the pay parking lots and "extras".
Anita Starlite Watson
It's an absolute must that I attend the African Arts Festival every year..this is the 28th year..I've been going for 20 yrs..and love love love it
Rob OBryan
Forest park. A historical park in St. Louis going back to the 1904 world's fair. From the Art Museum and the Planetarium/Science Center, to the St. Louis Zoo, to the Jewel Box and Art Hill. It has something for everyone. If recreation is what you like, there's golfing, boating, biking, running/walking trails, ball diamonds, nature walks/hikes, fishing and more. My earliest memories are going here with my dad and flying kites or spending a snowy, winter Saturday sledding down Art Hill. Look up the 1904 World's Fair and Forest Park was a popular place bustling with education and activity. Not to mention the 1904 Olympics. Were there some strange event happenings, yes. Like wrestling pigmys. But we embrace the rich history of our park. Come sit under a huge oak tree in the summer for a picnic. Rent a boat and relax on one of the lakes. Take in a few rounds of golf. The zoo is something to see, ranked one of the best in the nation. The historical birdcage is worth seeing or walking thru. I just attended the Apollo 11 exhibit at the science center and even though I lived thru it, I learned much about our space program in the 50's & 60's and beyond. In short, stop by Forest Park even if you're driving thru. You won't be disappointed. Something for the whole family!
A. Birmingham
The St. Louis zoo is so beautiful. I was really impressed with the grounds and the care given the animals. I don't understand how it can be free, museums too.... I'm from a large city and nothing here is free here. Anyway, lovely aviary, beautiful reptile house and super impressive arctic animal house. Wow, that is how it should be for those critters.
Justa Guy
Beautiful, walking/running trails and great scenery. Many great thing to do close by.
Constance Johnson
There are so many things to do in Forest Park. Nice place to ride bikes, walk, hike, jog, go to the zoo, or art museum, golf, attend a play or concert and just enjoy nature
Kiley Weber
Absolutely gorgeous park open to the public. Great to have a picnic at or to just walk around. My suggestion is to go early in the morning on a weekend or a weekday because around noon it is absolutely packed on a weekend. There are walking paths and a lot of green open space. The Art Museum is located directly behind the park and there is also free parking for the museum that can be utilized to get to the park.

Beautiful grounds and very well kept. Plenty of paths to walk, ride your bike, or rent a scooter. It's big enough with plenty of trees that you never feel like you're right on top of people even though there are plenty of people that use the park everyday. For the most part, people are very courteous here and it's all in all a very enjoyable place to spend an afternoon or to get some exercise.

Beautiful park, full of people and dogs enjoying nature

Great zoo right in middle of City and its free! Only 4 stars because there are not enough bathrooms, you have to find them..and no Polar Bear to be found :(

Such a wonderful park that has so much to offer. From golf and fields to museums and trails.

An unmissable experience brought to life as relics from the Worlds Fair remain, it is an all in one stop weather having a picnic with the family or seeing gorillas at the zoo.

No matter what you feel like, you can always find something to do there. There is a beautiful museum SLAM, a Zoo, beautiful historical monuments, paddle boating, a restaurant, places to just jog, places to golf! It’s a Saint Louis MUST

What a fantastic spot for engagement photos of my daughter and her fiancé’. Very scenic and great lighting created a memorable 849 photos!!! We didn’t trek too great a distance for a variety of different poses and different backgrounds. Forest and trees to water, bridges and reflections. You can find exactly what you’re looking for with little or no effort.

Fantastic place to visit!!! Lots to do, if you just want to walk the trails you can.(dog friendly)!!! There are museums that are free to the public. You can spend all day there and not see everything. If you want to get lunch or shop, 7 mins down the road is Delmar loop. The food and the people are great!!!

You can't beat forest park. If you are visiting St Louis, have some time on your hands, have any love for walking and seeing nice things, you got to go to Forest park. It's a beautiful park, there are fountains, ponds, statues, trees, green spaces, all of it. But there is a zoo in the park that is free! There is an art museum in the park, also free. A municipal theater...free. these are high quality venues, worth visiting. NYC has it's central park, but st. Louis forest park is probably better than that one.

Im a wedding photographer! Photograph a wedding here in November of 2018. Has so much to offer like the Art museums, water fountains, water paddling, restaurants and more...
Brent Mills
Great place to spend the day. The park has a zoo, planetarium, and a museum. Plenty of picnic tables, bike trails, walking paths. There are also limebike rentals all over the park.

I was visiting St Louis and went to Forest Park for the stlouis vegan festival. This park is expansive and every part of it is beautiful and filled with nature. I took a bird (scooter) around the area and had such a fun time.

Forest Park in St. Louis is always a great time. The views and landscape is amazing!! Walk, run, bike, drive, skate or boat you can do it all. With one of the only free zoos in the country, plus a number of free museum. It’s a must see when you visit St. Louis, MO.

Forest park is a wonderful place to explore and play for both individuals and families! There is an art museum, history museum (with a play area for kids) a zoo and so much more. There are even a few wild places (woodsy areas) if you look for them.

The park itself is beautiful.
We spent time at the zoo.

Great paved walking/running/riding trails. The zoo, the muny, the museums. All great.
Nicolas Pagano
Absolutely love this place! I went there recently to get some walking in and play some Pokémon Go. So many walking paths that are also shared with people who bike, many water ways to walk over and you can rent a little paddle boat to float around in, and lots of open areas to bring a blanket or Frisbee. I haven't been in the art museum in forever but I plan on going soon became I've heard it is still great!
Adrian Gonzalez
Wonderful park! Very nice zoo, many museums, fantastic jogging and strolling areas! All free! A must if you are in Saint Louis for a visit.
William Hedgcock
The largest city park in the nation offers more than its footprint of the 1904 Worlds Fair. A renowned Art Museum, History Museum, Best ranked free zoo anywhere, The Muny: largest outdoor amphitheatre anywhere, largest stage anywhere with exceptional Broadway shows for only a portion of the summer (should do more shows!)...has a public golf course, river canals for boating, lakes, a few restaurants, cricket fields, a tennis club, trails for hiking, biking, blading. A botanical green house for events, and baseball diamonds....indeed a Forest Park forever!
Mindi Denson
Always fun at the zoo. It wasn't too hot so most of the animals were out enjoying the day. Of course we had to ride the carousel.
DLAT69 “FelixMadCat”
Peaceful with an awesome view!

Big place you need at least 3 days to walk around and enjoy the Zoo. One of the good experience in St. Louis, it free entry nut the sells inside are so high. If you are looking for something outdoor at nice weather. The Zoo is a good distinction

It is obvious anyone live in St. Louis area loves the Forest Park. It is much much bigger than NY Central Park, and we are proud of having all the green there. Gives you a calm piece of mind anytime you go there. But in the other way, really wish there were more improvements after all these years.
