Large, very secluded campsites with a creek running pretty close. No potable water. Beautiful area. Vault toilets and campsites were clean. Campsites were so secluded that many of them were quite a hike from the toilets. We had a tent and two hammocks. I had to set up my hammock at an adjacent site because the foliage was so dense and there weren't a lot of lone trees. Beautiful, quiet area. It also took a while to book the campsite online, but was worth it.

Beautiful campsite with established sites 50 to 100 yards apart. Close enough to Highway 80 for a stopover yet way out of sound range so nice and quiet. No water! Need reservations! Make them online. $15 per night. They will email you a combination to the locked gate

This is one of our favorite spots to camp because it is so close yet feels so secluded. The campground rarely gets loud and because there is a gated entrance, there isn't much traffic. Just wish there were potable water available.

A beautiful, Salt Lake City managed campground, pleasant, short ride from downtown. Excellent for #S24O bike-packing trips :-) Wake to the sound of a rippling creek. Well maintained pit toilets.

I found a perfect stop. Tucked my jeep back into a quiet place between trees. Still chilly when I was there. It was Lovely, Bright sunshine and calm. Something a tired human being needed. I felt safe. Unmolested. Actually got some sleep. A place to ground your energy before Salt Lake City and humanity madness.

Very close to the city but far enough out and off the road that we didn't hear any traffic. There's a historic trail you can hike with great views! No fires allowed when we went up but we had a stove/cooker the ranger approved that worked great. Gentle water sounds, lots of shade trees and cozy spots for tents, made for a great overnight getaway.

Lovely little gem just 15 minutes from the east bench and feels like a million miles into the wilderness.

I didn't get to stay long because we didn't know that you had to schedule with them 48 hours in advance, but it seems like a nice place. The campground area we saw had a good amount of space and had multiple tables as well as a fire pit. I tried to call, but they didn't answer the phone and I didn't see a website to know how to schedule with them in advance. It would be nice to have that information more easily accessible and a place (or multiple places) to contact them more easily.

One of the most scenic Areas in Utah very few places come close to the stuff you view and experience on the roads around here and in the nature, phone service is bad though and you wont have any for most of the drive so dont expect that, although its nice to retreat from the world and relax

This place is beautiful! But thought it was free from what other reviews said. It is by reservation only now and we got locked in when trying to leave and had to have the sheriff and public utilities come let us out after paying the reservation fee. Other than that, it was a fun time with cool trails and plenty of camping spots!

Great camping just minutes from the city.

This is a narrow campground where reservations are required, but it's a pretty, quiet spot with a river running next to most sites. Vault toilets. Bring your own water.

Clean, secluded, and lots of trees. Great place to go camping. One thing to note is that dogs are not allowed, so if you have a furry friend you will want to look elsewhere.

Kind of a random campground. Came upon this campground by accident and had a hard time figuring out how to reserve a spot online. It is usually not even busy on holiday weekends - probably because it's hard to reserve. Beautiful, quiet place to camp.

Developed camp sites, some look better than others, reservations ($) were needed for overnight camping, online thru SLC. This is a watershed area so no dogs and a few other rules. The gate stays locked so make sure to get the code before arriving. Nice quiet mountain spot by the river and close too!

Nice shady camp spot with a stream and hiking trails. Our site was very clean and away from others. Just wish there was culinary/drinking water.
Brittany
Nice little spot not too far up the canyon. I can always reserve a spot and it's cheap. Beautiful area!

A hidden gem I didn't realize existed, a decent amount of camping below big mountain road. Beautiful fall colors.

We went there for deer hunting and it was a beautiful beautiful spot that we had for the trailer we were able to see a moose we did see a small deer but we didn't get one

We love the cost of $15 per night. Outhouse Bathrooms only. No pets allowed.

Pretty, but no dogs (not the campgrounds fault). They lock a gate, so be prepared for that.
