Reviews of Walnut Creek Campground
Rose Green
Large spaces with cement pad to park, electric, and tables. a lot of green grass and trees, playground, bathrooms, sewer dump site, garbage. quiet except for the birds and bugs.
Note: no WiFi, showers, or laundry. Bathrooms didn't have plumbing and were outhouse style... but still great for the low price ($16 when we were here) and well maintained grounds.

Great local campground. Close to everything but far enough away. 14 day max stay. Can pay online AFTER you get here and get a spot. Electric 50/30 amp at each site. Water and dump station are available. Lots of space between sites. Quiet.
Marcus Wickes
No reservations. $16 per night. First come, first serve. Electric only sites (30/50amp). Whiteboard near the entrance indicated which spots were open. We drove around and selected a spot then put payment in the envelope. Cash only so bring exact change!
If you want to stay more time, you simply have to pay for the additional night(s) the same way before Noon the next day. Checkout is 2pm.
Sites are plenty large for any size rig. Cement pads made a little wider with gravel for additional vehicle parking. Nice picnic table.
A water spigot was located just across the street from our site but our hose was a few feet short so we had to park in the road to fill up water (which doesn't allow anybody to pass).
Dump station is convenient near the exit but it's not quite level so we weren't able to completely empty.
Location is quiet and a pretty central spot for visiting Omaha or a bit further drive down to Lincoln.

Price has gone up from $16 to $20 but is still worth it to me. The camp hosts are always friendly and the area is nice with some walk paths around the lake and a dog park right down the road. Its electric only but they have a dump and fill station.
Simple Meets Adventure
Great little park. Wonderful for walks around the lake, biking and camping. The playground at the campground is nice. Since there is no water hookups showers are a must if you are going to stay any sort of long period. A simple shower house would go a long ways. We are enjoying it but having to undo camp to go dump and fill with water is slightly annoying. We would rather however focus on the nicely maintained grounds, nice staff and beautiful park but that’s the only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars.

Awesome lil place to stay. 45 sites (if I'm not mistaken) and all power. Water fill station is close and sump site is not unfortunately is not level. $16 a day and you can stay 2week at a time.

Great place. The spot was terrific, nice and level. The manager is very helpful and friendly. The price is good...$16.00 a night. Only electric though, but still a good place.

Stayed for 12 days. Very busy place fills up fast. Had a great stay will definitely go back. All the spaces have great views.

The price just can't be beat. Same price for 30 or 50 amps. Location is peaceful, yet within a reasonable distance from Omaha. Pads are concrete and level. Reservations are not allowed, so you have to hope for the best and get lucky. No water or sewer at individual sites--you'll have to use central areas in the campground. The road is very narrow and not in good shape. In order to detach my tow car, I had to block traffic for a few minutes. Otherwise if you really need to save money, this could be the right place for you.

Nice campground for the money. Be better if water at all sights. Clean spread out decent and fairly level pads. Nice park and dog park nearby lake.

I love that all the sites are 1st come, 1st serve. Makes the campground well integrated. The park is quite and well maintained. The electrical services are almost all 30 amp. No water or sewer at individual pads but all available within the campground. We will stop in again on the next trip.

Nice place but a little disorganized. Unhappy that campsites don't have built in fire pits. There are some available but it's not obvious where they are and they don't have nearly enough for every site. Also a bit of a bummer that development is encroaching on the site. But it's a beautiful area and had the cleanest restrooms I've ever seen in a campground, even though they were pit toilets.

This is a gem of a campground. Concrete pads with electric 30 amp hookups. Water and dump available but not at individual sites. First come first serve. We particularly appreciated the camp host, Curtis. He was very welcoming and made regular rounds. I very much enjoyed visiting with him and one of the best camp hosts we have ever experienced.
Keira Fritzen
This is a truly beautiful park! No water or sewer hookups at the sites, but they are all huge level cement pads. 2wk max stay & it is first come first serve, so call ahead. For $16 it is a great place to stay for a few days

Great little campground! Camp hosts were very nice. Campground was well maintained.
Two week stay limit. No reservations, first come to secure sites. Only electrical hook up on RV sites, dump station located at campground entrance/exit.

We love camping at Walnut Creek when we are close to Omaha. Price is Right, $16 a night. We get electric at the site. There are two water faucets to fill with water. There is a dump station as we leave. A big downside is no trash disposal for us. If we stay more than a day or two trash accumulates and is a pain. The other difficulty is there are no reservations and in the summer it gets full very quickly and stays that way. That is because you can stay up to 28 days and then out for 7 then you can come back. They have a regularly rotating set of can't post who have all been good that we have encountered. Small playground. Pit toilets. Check out our YouTube 4 videos as we explore and play around the campground area. #lzdrv #littlezebradragons There is a very large off leash dog park not far away also.

I love taking my dog here for long walks out too their dog park. It's not the cleanest dog park with all the mud, but my pup loves coming here. The local dogs for the most part behave, but even my pup can be a bit overzealous when playing. Just beware it's not fully fenced in.
Momma Sallie
Its a good campground. Large fire bins are behind the trash fence. My kids need bikes here, or they walk up the hill to playground. There is a long bike trail, and half way a playground for the kiddos. The trail to the right is better way, left has more up hills. On the other side of it is a fenced area to tske dogs to play, run, and get wet.

Inexpensive stay at a beautiful Park. Small and quiet. Well maintained. Electric at each site but water and dump stations are available. Not too far from the interstate. We will definitely stay there again
Jill McCormick
Nice campground with ample space between sites. Great rate. Although campers have a communal water and dump site, it is a small detractor compared to the quiet beauty of the area.
