Reviews of Louisville State Recreation Area

This is really an RV Park with tent sites smattered around. The trail along the river is awesome. Tent campers beware, there is a VERY active railroad nearby. Bring earplugs.
Mrs. Hermangali
Clean and safe. No restrooms at the office, which has limited hours.
Flush restrooms closed for the winter. Just one hiking trail, which is along the river.
Trains run frequently, interrupting the tranquility.
Nice picnic areas. A nice place to stretch your legs whilst traversing Hwy 50.
Sarah Asbach
We tent camped for 3 nights. The Riverview campground was great with good shade most of the day. Bathrooms were cleaned daily. The floating obstacle course and the beach were fun for the whole family. The beach area is very clean and the water is pretty clear. The little store had really friendly clerks and almost everything we needed. What we didn't find there (sanitary pads), we found in the little grocery store within 5 minutes of the SRA in Louisville. Overall, Louisville SRA is very well kept and was a great experience for our family of 5.
Tim Montgomery
Louisville is always fun. Easy going laid back and nicely well kept. Probably one of the best state grounds and not far from the metro. If you've got little kids there's plenty to keep them busy. Between fishing, swimming, camping, a play ground and bicycle friendly roads and paths. There are a few different lakes and ponds that have the fish you would expect like bluegill, bass, carp, channel cat and maybe the odd crappie or hybrid. The biggest lake also has a nice roped off area for swimming that stays shallow for a good way out along with a floating playground kind of thing that's great if your kids are good swimmers. There's a nice beach all along the swimming area as well as rinse off showers and generally clean bathrooms close by. Kayaks are often available to rent at the small convenience store across from the swimming area as well. The convenience store is handy as they usually have ice, snacks, bait, floaties, some simple tackle and sometimes burgers or something similar. Being right in Louisville is nice because if you forgot something the town is also right there. There's also some access to the Platte river but not as much as there was before the most recent flood unfortunately. As far as camping there are full RV spots and some that just have electrical and also primitive "tent" camping spots as well. The prices are responsible but it's best to reserve in advance especially if you're going to have a large group and are looking to get multiple spots together. Bathroom facilities are never too far away and at least one has showers available. Many of the camping spots have shade and are mostly well maintained. There's usually plenty of dumpsters around so there's no reason to not pick up your trash and most people are pretty good about it. All in all it makes a nice place to spend the day and it's just down the road from the metro. It can get kind of crowded on holiday weekends in the summer but if you can make a day of it during the week it's pretty quiet usually.

Year round fun with exceptional staff, great fishing, and very well maintained camping grounds and RV sites. There are so many positives that are associated with this state recreational park I cannot list them all.
Joshua Nelson
Great beach and swimming area, plenty of tubes ($8) and canoes to rent. Free entry into the beach, out of state pays $12 for daily access, but you can't really complain. A really clean and nice shop right across from the beach, filled with locally made products. I camped there Friday and Saturday night and wasn't disappointed, even with the 103 degree temps. Plenty of showers and restrooms. I'll be returning again.
Kim Morrison
Very quit and clean area lots to see and do
Kim Zwiener REALTOR
I prefer chillin at the river to swimming in the lake. But, it's awesome that you have the option. Lots to do lake side rent water craft or pay to play on the obstacle course for 90 min.
The dump station line is always super long on Sunday mornings.
Brandon Keith
Louisville has a very nice beach area at the park. Had a good time, lots to do for kids.
Ann Truong
Great place to camp and get away from city life. A few ponds you can fish from. You can even fish in the Platte River right there in the park. The trains near by are a little loud but you will get used to it. The little shop you can rent kayaks and other stuff from is handy to have for use.
Phillip
Other than the trains horns at night, but your in a small town and I enjoyed the experience it is a great place to stay
Kyler Bowling
Beautiful park not far from Springfield. Looking to swim they got it for a fair price. My number one go to.
Kendall Henn
Great for family or friends! Nice and peaceful! If you forget anything they got you covered for a reasonable price!!! Been camping here since I was little! Loved it then love it now!
Sam Brooks
Camped here while traveling on my Harley. Nice toilets and showers. Nice park to walk around and relax. I will stay again when I'm in the area.
Patrick Wells
Kids had a blast... I slept like a... Well like a tired grown up kid...under the stars on the dock
Morgan Leeson
Beware of the Trains! The horns blow 24 hrs a day and the wheels rumble. The shared bathrooms are all in need of updating and improvements. No reason for a park this busy with over 200 campsites to have such poor bathrooms for fees of $20/night on average. Bring a roll of Quarters with you if you intend to use their showers, the money change machines don't work. Swim at your own risk in a lake full of algae and goose poop. We did enjoy our stay, just use your R.V. facilities.
Scott Damery
Not gonna lie, you need to be prepared for the trains but other that that it was a really good time
Ragin' Cajun
Overall, this is not a bad place to camp... but.... the trains don't stop at night... so bring some earplugs.
They are open year-round, which is nice... but there are only 2 pit toilets open during the winter... so be prepared.
Penny Marquez
Louisville is very family friendly! It is a great place for everything from setting up camp to just having a day trip. They have very nice facilities. They are reasonably priced and the property is well managed.
Bill Wiese
I wish the campers were spaced farther apart. But overall it's a really nice campground. Only bad thing is that even if you go in with a 30 Amp camper. If you end up on 50 Amp spot. You get charged for it. They other bad thing is that if you don't have reservations for the weekend. You can rarely get a spot without taking the camper out there a few days in advance. Last weekend we stayed out there. It was full by the Tuesday before. So you pay an arm and a leg for the convenience of being able to go into omaha and work while your family camps over the weekends. Eastern Nebraska needs more campgrounds!!!!
Jacob Bandy
Beautiful clean campground but the "hike in" spots for tent camping are not hike in. Other than that it was a great experience beautiful nature trails that are accessible for anyone!
Chaii Xaneski
You can rent different water equipment for up to $30. Lake was dirtier than most others I’ve visited. Make sure you call and ask if certain areas are open.
Elliott Smart
Always a good time , great park with awesome playground for kids. Lots of spots that aren't all cramped together.
E. Scott Wiese
Great tent camping locations just a minute's walk from the river. The midnight train horns can wake you up every now and then, but you tune them out. Great staff, toilets with plumbing (certain locations), and easy to navigate areas.
Tera Barber
It's a very nice state park but no water hook ups is the only drawback I saw
Nargess Tahmasbi
Beautiful camping place with proximity to the river and waters.
John Keady
Very long camping spots and very easy to park long/large campers. Small swimming beach but nice. The floating swim park is super neat, tickets only sold 30min prior to 3 open times to use it.
Cars drive a little fast on the main road due to a lot of non overnight people coming for the swimming.
Luba Carlson
It was easy to find, kids had a lot of fun on the inflatable playground. We brought a picnic lunch and used one of the tables under a pine tree. It was a good day.
Michelle Hughes
Amazing!
The swim beach was perfect, the water was clear and cool, you could see the fish swimming around. Huge beach so.it never really got too crowded.
Lots of picnic tables.
Lots of space to ride bikes and go on walks.
The surprising highlight was the lake side shop. Lots of things to see, do, buy, and rent. They have pretty much anything you could ask for (or may have forgotten). Fire wood, sunscreen, dishes, condiments, sand toys, floating toys/gear for the beach, toothbrushes, fishing gear, etc. The staff was also super nice
They also have a mining experience, you buy a bag for $7-$10, go to the mining station, and pan for your fossils or gems. My 3 kids LOVED it.
Freshwater fill is at the dumpstation (first right after entering the gates)
The whole trip was amazing and the whole family had a great time.
Greg S
I already submitted my review but it's asking me to submit a second review? I always enjoy camping or just picnicking at Lewisville. It's a good size recreation area with lots of water. There are camper sites RV sites and tent sites. I like being close to the Platte River the only thing I don't like is the noisy trains that seem to come through two or three times a night.
Tammy Krueger
It was beautiful! All the trees were frosted. We love this lake!!!
A J
One of the best in the area.
Jörg Henkel
So much to do, so much fun. I always forget how cool this State Park is. Numerous great camping lots to choose from, several lakes for fishing or canoeing, you can walk on the Platte! Great beach!
Jared Anderson
We camped at #267 and had a big area where we put up tens under the trees. Our "back door" was a step down trail to the sand bars by the Platte. We were close to the nature trails and to a water pump and the floating playground, beach, and one of several fishing docks. The camping spot was $6 for a day and $15/night. For $21 a night it's pretty cheap. Wood is $6/bundle. The floating playground was awesome. I took my 12, 11, and 6-year-olds and we had a great time. Good change from other parks for $57. You can also rent lots of water toys for an okay price.
Matt W.
Camping, Fishing, Day picnic, this is the perfect place. Electrical and non electrical camping sites. Reservable and non reservable areas. Consession with food available, large updated swimming area. Close to the SAC museum in Ashland. Camped here many times beginning in the early 80's.
Veronica Barnes
It was nice but had a lot of fees. Daily parking was the only option unless you bought a annual pass.
Tim Amos
We rented a camper last year and really enjoyed staying here. Plenty of RV and tent spots. Nice little lake with a beach area roped off for swimming and a large inflatable water park thing as well. They have a small store and rent bikes, canoes and kayaks. We camped there again this year with our own camper and it was a bit crowded at the beach area but, we still had alot of fun at the campsite and with the kayaks.
Abby Reed
One of my favorite places to picnic, camp and swim in the summer
Amber Block
Love this rec area.
Plenty of paved camping sites and plenty of tent sites available.
Spent a day lounging on a sand bar at the river.
There's also a fun floating obstacle course.
Jeremy Meier
I honestly have no idea how Louisville State Recreation Area has a worse rating than Platte River State Park! This place is AMAZING! My family and I stayed a week in Weeping Water, NE, just about a 25-30 drive from Louisville Recreation Area and we spent almost all of our week at the park. We actually should have just camped there instead! The park is well kept, the staff was exceptionally friendly (unlike Platte River State Park) and the swimming hole was the best I have ever experienced! You could tell the crew took great pride in their work and the satisfaction of their patrons. This recreation area is definitely the place to go if you're in the Louisville area! Make sure you bring goggles and a snorkel because you'll have plenty of opportunities to see fish swimming around. It's a great place to take your family for the day.
The only "bad" review I have is the employees that work in the store across from the swimming hole were less than friendly and really made it seem as if they could care less if they had customers or not. Luckily we only had to purchase something the first time we were there and had no reason to go back.
I highly recommend you visit Louisville State Recreation Area...you won't regret it!
Gene Hahn
Great hiking trails along the wooded river land. Asphalt camper pads, lots of fishing with lakes and the river available.
Stop over at The Market grocery store in Louisville. Perfect for your food supplies that you may have forgotten.
Jordan Lukow
We stopped by here for a little dip in the Platte. We were unaware there was no river access, but it more than made up for it with a VERY CLEAN and nice beach swimming area at one of the small lakes on site. The water was clear enough you could see your feet in 6 ft deep water and the bottom was all sand with very little debris. It was quite enjoyable.
david matney
Great place! If you don't mind crowded campgrounds with friendly campers the weekends are for you. But during the week it's nice and quiet
Kaci Kessler-koepke
Great place to camp! Or even just hangout for the day.
Amdarela
Nice area. Just as in most campgrounds, it would be nice if camping spots were further apart. Nice little wharf, swimming and multiple lakes. Public showers and restrooms. You can hear trains go by at night but unless you are at a spot that backs up to tracks it isn't bad. Not a long trip from the Omaha metro and easy to find.
Lauren
Pretty well maintained state park. Busy place in the summer. I didn't find the staff to be particularly helpful or overly accommodating. But we had made a reservation online, and were able to camp at the reserved spaces when we were scheduled, so everything worked out just as it should have, but I don't have a glowing story of super-friendly staff or amazingly clean facilities. But the campground has a swimming area on the lake and you can fish or whatever too, so there are things to do if you want to stay at the campgroumd.
NativeWolfGaming
I enjoyed my stay alot. The employees there were extremely nice and knowledgeable. Definitely will be returning.
Nicole Bosiljevac
I might be rating this unfairly, but this was my experience. A couple of friends and I went their the weekend after the 4th of July which was our first mistake. It was sooooo packed, so we ended up right next to the train tracks. The trains go by constantly, so I couldn't get any sleep. The swimming lake was crowded, so their was no way to swim without getting bumped by people & there was nowhere on the beach to put our things.
I think it's pretty awesome that they have added an inflatable course, and the fishing there is pretty decent. The firewood they sell at the store is HUGE 7-10 lb chunks of wood & the people in the store and ther people in the entrance building were very friendly.
David Kilduff
Great place for tent or RV/Trailer camping. Bathrooms are handicap accessible with plumbing. Shower facilities have a few at each area that are handicap accessible. I take my family here quite a bit during the summer. The only down side is a train track that runs on the west side of the campground and the first night if light sleeper you may get awoken by the noise but you get use to it quickly. Bring your fishing gear multiple lakes and the river to fish in with nice size cat and bass.
Mike Farrell
Love going camping and fishing here with my family. It not too far from Omaha. Reasonably priced, and quiet. Holidays it is difficult to find an electric plot for a camper, otherwise this is a GREAT place to get away for the weekend.
Marshall Ambros
Probably a nice place to visit during the day, but don't expect to sleep much at the campground: there is a railway right next to the Park with a train every 20 minutes almost all the time, day and night. And good luck finding your campsite! The layout is horrid. The place is clean though, and good facilities.
Small Guy Promotions
I only got to stay for a little while, but it was a cool place. This was my first time in Louisville and it is a great place to take the family. Only being like 30 minutes away it feels like a small getaway. There was camping, fishing, peole on paddling on long boards, swimming, kayaking, etc. A nice chill spot for sure and I would like to take the kids back sometime and actually enjoy the fun that is available.
Jenni Stark
This seems like a great place to go camping. We just stayed for a few hours, but it was very clean and seemed to be well taken care of. We will definatly be going back to so some actual camping later.
Kevin Greniger
Nice level paved sites and roads. Angle for easy back in. Electric only on the sites bit water available to put on. Very affordable right along the river. Scattered with small lakes.
Patrick Wolff
We really enjoyed taking out 2 year old son hear for a 1 night stay in a tent. He really likes trains, so he got super excited every 20 minutes when a train would go buy and blow the whistle 5 times. He also really like watching the river, and throwing sticks in. There are a couple nice playground areas, and a bunch of tent spots with great views of the river. The bathroom and shower facilities were pretty new. The biggest issue was with the trains over night. A train would go by about every 45 min - 1 hour and was still blowing it's horn each time. Some of the RV spots were about 20 yards from the tracks. I have no idea how those people managed to get any sleep. The whole campground is within a 1/4 mile of the tracks, so there's no escaping the noise, unless you have a really quite RV.
If it wasn't for the trains, we would definitely come back for an overnight again. Instead, we may just make some day trips out here and let our son freak out over the trains.
Joel Havenridge
Louisville SRA is terrible, please stay away (so I can make sure I can get a camping spot). It's flat so it's easy to walk of bike. Lakes are fun to kayak. Plenty of shade in most spots. The town of Louisville has a store, pizza place and ice cream shop so thats a bonus.
Ezekiel Menter
Great place to be with a wonderful view. Great location and great sunset when I came. Overall great place to be. I would recommend coming here.
Linnae Sanders
Pretty site. We were overnight camping--Near railroad tracks which wouldn't be too bad if they just lingered by, but we must be near a crossing as they blow their whistles... Pretty loud. Still, a fun spot. Lots of birds and frogs and other critters making their sounds, too. Perfect for a day trip with the swimming and fishing areas.
Darin Schmidt
Nice, clean and flat. Great for walking, bike riding, and swimming. Nice place. Close to Omaha if you need anything and there are also some neat local shops in the town of Louisville.
Marc Leger
If Recreation means
RELAXING, GETTING AWAY,
RESTING, then this is the PLACE!
Enjoy Fishing, Swimming, Picnics, Bike Riding or a nice Nap in the Shade.
Find your own Peace of Mind.
Brigette Stoddard
It was an OK stay. The lady in the office the day we got there 8/6/19 was RUDE! The "lakes" (more like ponds) were covered in algae looking film and stunk! You have to pay 25 cents for a 90 second shower and add more quarters for longer. It also cost $13 to use the floating water playground! There is also trains that run ALL NIGHT right by the camp grounds!! Which didnt bother us too bad bc our A/C is kinda loud so it mostly drowned the train sound. On the plus side, during the week there weren't alot of people there which was peaceful! And there was some pretty nice shade where we stayed. It was electric only trailer spots however they have a dump/fill station you can fill your fresh water tanks at.
jennie cramm
Best place we have been so far !!! We did camping and sat between both lakes clean showers great lakes for fishing lots of shade amazing people and close to town for any unforgotten supplies. Kyac rentals are in town . We will be back something for the whole family. Good for kids to ride bikes super safe
Sarah Werkmeister
Was driving back to iowa from Lincoln and found this gem!!!! Def recommended for the family. Worth the small gate fee for sure!!!
Jennie Hodgins
Very clean, fun spot. I only gave it a 4 star because the train runs almost every hour right behind the campsite and is very loud.
Sue Kuzela
Beautiful grounds. Large recreational vehicle spaces and tent camping . Bring the kids and young at heart to the lakeside floating playground. Fishing spots abound. Geese walking the area. And the Platte River is as impressive as it was when I was a kid.
Drew Poinsette
Came back here after 5 years of being away from home and it was just as I had remembered. The Canada Geese still had their young following closely behind them and it was nice getting to sit with the birds and enjoy the day. Great view of the Platte river!
Sierra Kinney
I can't believe I'm just now finding this place. It's beautiful, clean, has options for everyone to have fun.
Kenneth Smedley
I was surprised that you had to pay quarters to use the showers. I would have much rather paid a higher fee to camp. It was very inconvenient. The camp store was closed so we had to go into town to get quarters, glad it was close to camp. The second time I showered, it would not take the quarter. I had to redress and try another one. The walk-in camp sites could have used some carts to carry items to the site. Johnson Shut-Ins has these and it made it so much easier. The train whistles did not bother me, sleeping pills helped, but I could see how they would bother campers trying to sleep. The mosquitos were terrible. I am hoping it is not like this all the time because it has been a very wet spring and summer. We did enjoy the wildlife, black snake, blue birds, humming birds and red-headed woodpeckers were common. The view of the Platte River was beautiful as our site was about 100 yards from the river. Ample trails in the campground. Not very many trees at the walk-in sites to hang clotheslines or hammocks.
Melissa Dalziel
Really fun place to go for a day or even to camp. *note: you cannot bring dogs onto the beach area so that part was a bust
Deathstrik
Great place to camp.
Monty Mann
We weren't impessed by the location. The park is large. They do charge $8/day for your vehicle. There is a swim area and they were building a large swim-gym sort of thing adjacent to the swim area. Should be fun for kids. Fishing available, too.
stalking lion
Really cool place to go play in the water. Has a lot of things to rent out like canoes to take out. Parking us only 6 dollars for the whole day!
Candace Schmidt
We stayed during the week because all the weekends were full. We knew ahead of time about the trains and picked a site farther from the tracks. The bathrooms aren't amazing but they are campground restrooms. I would suggest the vault toilets get a little updating, a sunroof cut into it would be nice because they are completely dark inside with no ventilation or light. Some of the doors didn't close either. The vault toilet closest to our spot had a huge Hornets nest in it so I know they don't inspect regularly. My biggest complaint would be we asked for a spot near the beach because it's a walk up spot during the week and it's reserved on the weekends. We were leaving Friday anyway when it was reserved for Friday evening. I was told we could not get that spot because the lady at the front knew the family and they might be coming early. Mind you they did not pay for Thursday she said that there was a possibility so she wouldn't let me stay there. I didn't want to argue and we chose another spot in the walkup area. The day we left we drove by and sure enough none of the reserved spots that are walkups during the week were taken Friday morning so her assumption was off. If the front people do this frequently it's costing the park money because someone would have taken our spot in the walkup area while we were in the reserved section and we would have left before the weekend reserve people came. I just don't get it, I guess it's about who you know in that park. We probably won't go back, the lake and beach area is pretty filthy with goose poop and the kids swimming there were cursing profusely I noticed one of the parents actually was a worker for the park so I was disappointed her children acted that way. It started to get pretty loud Friday as we were leaving and I have heard the weekends is like a big party. We like quieter camping. It was ok but not great by any means.
cody kietzman
Great camping, tent and camper (powered). Clean showers and bathrooms. River access. Plenty of lakes to fish. A great beach. My go to camp site. The close proximity of the town means you'll never go without if you forget soemthing.
Misty Paez
Love this place except for the trains, all night right next to the campground. Other than that clean, friendly and a great beach.
Michele Kennedy
Great place to camp and bike ride
Teri Ondracek
Stayed here a couple of nights, next to Lake 2. Was disappointed that water was not available in any other area but the beach entrance. The bathrooms were not kept very clean compared to other State Parks I've been. We took a ride down to Platte River State Park and couldn't believe the difference in cleanliness.
Chris Keyser
It gets packed very quickly on the weekends and there's a train about every 45 minutes in the evening very similar to Fremont lakes I was able to sleep just fine but my wife didn't
Sheryl Stine
Five stars during the week. Great sites, nice beach, great camp store and water rentals on grounds, office staff remembers frequenters that stop at the office to register, flat roads for biking / walking, located near quaint small town. Train traffic doesn't bother me personally.
Three stars on weekends. Too busy and rowdy with beach/picnic traffic and not enough monitoring of activities. Adults gerting out of hand and kid-bullies all at the beach. Campsites are still nice. Not the hidden gem it used to be...reservable sites always full on weekends now, but that's ok. Id rather weekday camp when I can.
Spencer Lombardo
We went here for the swimming lake. That is what I'm reading in this commentary. Overall it's pretty cool but I wouldn't take a baby here because everybody smokes apparently if you want to swim and smoke this is where you go. I will say water is clear all the way to the bottom sand bottom Lake nice cordoned off shallow area for the kids.
Connor Eckhout
Beautiful area. Worth the price to camp here compared to other parks. $20 for camping with electricity is cheap considering the water is clear and they always have someone keeping the gate secure.
Angela B.
My kids and I went to the park for the first time and did the obstacle course, we had a blast, we will definitely be back soon and see what else the park has the offer.
Kassie Ann
Loved it went as a group with the girls in freeway for one of my last weekends in freeway house
Braden Johnson
Really crowded beach. The water level is pretty low so it'd be great to take little kids. They are doing a lot of work and going to add even more attractions. Not my idea of a great place to camp but I could see the appeal for families and rv users.
Hunter Sorge
Grounds were great! Facilities were well maintained for a camp ground.
Just be ready to deal with trains rushing by in 20 minute intervals. All day and night long. Tracks are about 50' from the grounds.
Stacie Stoll
This is my far my favorite camping place. It is clean and orderly the people here are so amazing and the beach is clean. Just be careful that sand will burn the skin off your feet ;-)
Ima Limabean
Chose campsite carefully! Our best option in arriving late was a damp spot close to train tracks. Trains rolled through night, honking loudly; seemed like every 1/2 hour.
Renee Bonge
My 5 year old granddaughter calls the swimming beach quote "Survivor Beach", and she love watching Survivor with Grandma. So she's truly using her imagination and invites other kids to play with her at Survivor Beach. She even plays Tribal Council and has to evict the millennial. Today she told me that now she wants to dig a whole to build our fire so we can have some food, like rice.
Rob
Clean and maintained RV area. Restrooms and showers clean.
Be cautious as apparently some drivers do not know how to read the "One Way" signs and drive going the incorrect direction. Beware if you have kids on bicycles!
Tyler Forke
Great fun for the kids!
Marshall Bruner
Swimming, picnicking, loud trains blasting Horn's. Campsites. Play area. Pay as you go showers. Pay to get in the park. If you like state parks, buy a seasonal pass. You can fish. Boat, kayak etc. Close to town. Have a really relaxing day.
Time 4420
This is a really nice park when it's not completely full which is quite frequently because it is such a nice park. But there is a lot of different things to do. There is camping, fishing, swimming and now there is the water play ground.
Hannah Petersen
We love Louisville State park!! For fishing, bbqs, swimming and even tent camping! It's close enough if we forgot something or our young boys just are done we can head home, if we don't want to head home due to something we forgot we can usual find what is needed in the little store they have or run into the town of Louisville and find what we need.
Judy Steimle
I'm sitting in my car waiting for my 3 grandkids. Hot today. Wish a grandparent could go in and set and watch the kids without having to pay the $13. My only complaint so far. I'll ask the kids when they come out if they have any additional. Sounds like they're having a good time.
Elissa Huebert
Lots of great campsites. The swimming area is fun with a big sandy beach. The bathrooms have coin operated showers. There are a lot of trains that go by.
Daniel Kiser
Love going here and feeling immersed in the camping community. Tent sites are awesome and there's always something to do with fishing swimming and hiking. Grew up going here and continue doing so with my family.
Ryan
Not a bad place to camp. They have coin operated showers. The restrooms were clean. The inflatable course was neat for the kids as well
Josh B
Awesome clean and friendly people, amazing ice cream and clean water for swimming. Lots of areas to fish. Is our new camping go to from here on out
Patita
We love to go camping to Louisville!! But my only concern is when people that go fishing at the beach (after they close the beach) they decide to do "#1" close to the water!!! ugh! Is really disgusting
Dustin H
Great campground. Swim beach is awesome. There is plenty of fishing docks for the kids. Clean public showers (1$ for 5/min).
Tony W
Looks like it has lost the best camping spots after the floods a few years back by the river. But nice shady camping spots in the middle.
F Moanz
Had a great beach but the inflatable water play area cost $13-18 per person for 90 mins. And thats on top of the fee for entering the recreation area
Cynthia Slemin
It was awesome great lakes not to busy great place for family and friends to gather. Camping, swimming, fishing all rolled into one
Curtis Sawyer
Ive been camping here for 30+ years. They keep it well maintained. Fishing, hiking, swimming, camping, what more could you ask for? Thanks for a great experience.
Yuriria Tlatenchi
We love swimming in their beach area! My kids always have fun. The staff have been pleasent also.
Pam Marks
Listen please to go camping cuz it's fun and everything else
Bob Fielder
Definitely a great place for wonderful lasting memories!
Kris Skiver
Water is clean n clear. Fishing can b good. Too crowded at times n needs more tent camping area. Otherwise would give it 5 stars.
Patrick
Beautiful area. Lots of room between camping spots. Large and fun water area.
John Yost
I have been camping here since I was
a boy. It's a nice place to camp a couple times a year.
William Garner
Still looking for more 50amp sites.and who ever come up with how you can hold a sites.someone needs to camp then make rules that make sense. We camp a lot Nebraska is one of the hardest state to camp in.
Mike Stanley
My family's favorite camp grounds. Water obstacle course, fishing, bbq pits, showers. Really no reason not love it.
Ernesto Marquez
Nice campgrounds. Good getaway close to the city.
Rick Brian
Would be better if more accessible fishing for handicap and elderly
Burton Heath
Camping galore nearly 300 sites from primitive and to electric no water on sites. Many small lakes with all the campsites within short walking distance. Only negative is that one of BNSF mainlines runs alongside.
Kathie King
Very nice place. Have to pay to take showers tho, that's a minus. First place I've been to that charges to shower. Nice space to each camp ground.
Larry John
When it rains most people have their very own pond right in front of their camper. They need to control the weeds better but, their are some nice spots.
Daniel Hedrick
Love the daily or weekend availability for outings. Lots to experience from swimming, to renting paddleboats and canoes, camping to nature trails. Had a great time.
Bob Duncan
Large camping area. Restroom facilities are to spreadout. The camp store is a very expensive place. If you go there ask what the prices are before you buy anything. Almost nothing is marked.
The folks runing the place were awesome. I will be going back
Chris Ditmer
Beautiful recreation area. Lots of little lakes. Great fishing. Great family place
E
Good campground if you dont mind being around a bunch of other campers, if youre looking for a more secluded woodsy feel then check out another place.
Laura Chagollan
I love the lake where we can swim, the campground is amaizing, the price is affordable, it's quiet. Every time that I go camping I go there. Love it!!!!
Christi Franzen

Patrick Mccormick
Extremely well maintained. a family spot for sure. fishing swimming boating and kayaks and amazing staff. short drive from Omaha, sure to impress.
Heather Stevenson
Louisville has clean campgrounds, modern restrooms, and a clean and maintained swimming area. The park rangers are a little heavy handed when it comes to the swimming area, so stay within the swimming line.
Kira Erickson
I love that its not terribly big and usually not crazy busy when we go. The inflatables look like fun though we've not done them yet.
Brandon Williams
It was great for our first camp of the year
Bakhodur Yunusov
Campsites felt too close to each other, otherwise a great park. Railroad road sounds at night was not peaceful at all.
Tami Springer

Goin Mown

The trains in the middle of the night reminded me that there were people outside of my tent, not monsters. So, with a sense of security, I slept like Cinderella

The bathrooms are dirty but the park is beautifulmy kids were supposed to be in the water park for 90 minutes and because of thunder they had to get out within 30 and they would not give us our money and don't think that was very Fair
Rory Merkley
Well kept and close enough that you can go there for the day. Big enough that if you want to go camping for the weekend, or week you can do that also.
Gary Park
They do not cater to out of state Tourist. They charge higher rates for out of state vehicles. They don't take reservations in the Fall, but allow locals to hold a site with out equipment on the site for 24 hours
Helopunkin9964 Buskevicius
Only down side. There was no water in the modern restrooms.
Matthew Gall
I liked it, and the guy that runs the bait shop was great. However I think it's silly to have to pay to use showers at a state park.
