This is a great family-friendly park. It is clean, safe, and has full hook-ups. As a travel nurse working nights, I was very fortunate to find this place. The staff is great. Shawn was very kind and super helpful. He was very appreciated during my stay. I stayed here for 6 weeks and hope to come back.

This is the best RV park by New Orleans in Harvey, LA. It really made me feel safe and was reasonably priced. The bathhouse and laundry rooms were spotless and comfortable. Shawn and his wife and son do a great job keeping the park in tip top shape and are extremely nice.

Nice park. Full hookups. Nice laundry room with a men and women's bathroom/shower quarters inside. October 2022 $2 wash and dry. Nice lots, paved road, very well lit at night like a football stadium (doesn't bother us though), quiet, everyone welcome. Super Nice owner and Manager!
My husband travels for work. We ended up staying extra time til Jan 5, 2023, so like 5 months. Absolutely love it here. Shawn and his wife and older kids keep up the place really nice. Always over maintaining anything that needs attention. If there is a problem, let him know and he will handle it very courteously. He is a really nice guy. He and LeAnn keep the place clean and decorated for every occasion. Very clean, nice park. Would definitely come back if we were to ever come back to Louisiana. Can have food delivered, packages and mail (in the office house up front). Noone messes with anything. They do have security cameras around as well for added protection (not like it's needed). But overall VERY LOVELY PLACE!!! Give it a try!!! Only like 9 minutes from town no matter which way u go. I will miss it here!

My fiancé and I are here for two weeks this visit and I can’t begin to share the wonderful experience we have had so far. It began with booking the park. The owner referred us to Shawn who went out of his way to accommodate us. We had to fly out when we got here and his wife was kind enough to take us to the airport. This is our first RV and through all our issues of learning how to handle the hook ups and things Shawn has been so gracious and helpful with us. We realize he has gone out of way. I say all this to recommend this park to you if you’re in the New Orleans area and your looking for a clean comfortable place to stay with friendly staff. Thank you, Alton Preston and Denise Hamer

A great, safe spot at a very affordable rate. Not too far from the French Quarter. Their full hook-up spots are perfectly level, clean, and spacious with well-maintained landscaping. The manager Shawn was extremely accommodating and helpful when we arrived. He went above and beyond to make sure we were set up with everything we needed. We were even having an issue with our camper’s electric plug that he took a look at for us. Bathrooms/shower houses were very clean and nice. They also have laundry facilities which is a great bonus. The surrounding area is quiet, which is nice because you’re close enough to the popular areas without all the hustle and bustle of being in a downtown area. Can’t recommend this place enough.

I stayed here for 6 months while on a travel assignment and I absolutely loved it. The park manager, Shawn and his wife Leeann are the nicest people and they go out of their way to take care of the park and the tenants. The park is clean, quiet and I felt safe while staying here. There is a laundry unit on-site which is always kept clean by Leeann (she does a great job and puts a lot of effort into it!) and Shawn was always available to get quarters from which was so convenient. I had food delivered here on a few occasions and no one ever had a problem finding the park. I loved that I was close to everything but it wasn’t directly in the middle of the city. I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend anyone to stay here if passing through or staying long term in New Orleans!

I began travel nursing last September in Louisiana just after Hurricane Ida. It was really hard finding a place to park our camper but we were able to find this place. It has been the perfect place! I stayed alone so safety was very important to me and I always felt safe. It is very well lit and very clean. If ever I’m down here again I will definitely stay again. The manager Shawn and his wife were always so helpful and friendly. It sits away from all the rush which is perfect because you aren’t too far from where you need to be but far enough away for rest. I suggest it to everyone. You won’t be disappointed!

WOW! What a fantastic place to stay! This is a nice park clean and tidy, the manager Shawn really takes pride and it shows! He even offered to help us get set up upon arrival, nice thick grass at every site, clean showers/restrooms as well, it was quite and we could finally relax considering we had just left east New Orleans! everyone we met was so very friendly, it was like we had been their lifelong friends, I believe it’s due to Shawn being an attentive manager and really caring about people, so if you’re looking for this kind of place to hang out and make some new friends, we highly recommend taking a relaxing adventure to Bayou Barataria RV Park!
Oh and they’re adding a swimming pool and hot tub in the near future!
Thank you for a great week!!!

Great place to stay. Absolutely great accommodations and management is very friendly and helpful with our setup. We are staying long term over the winter with very good access to the greater New Orleans community!
Justyn Cry
Stayed here for a total of 5 nights and it was amazing!
Scott and Shawn were Super welcoming and friendly!
The location felt super safe and was extremely quiet.
The bathroom was clean and had enough hot water for everyone. Never had a cold shower.
Shawn went above and beyond for use giving us recommendations and offering help when we had a low tire pressure in my car.
One of the best experiences so far in our RV,
Thank you Shawn and Scott🙏🏽

We stayed for a week while traveling and this place is just awsome. It's not far from all the city's attractions. Shawn the manager goes above and beyond the call of duty. The location is safe super clean and extremely well light at night. The sites are very spacious which gives a lot of room between RVs. Loved the pull thru. Would definitely recommend this park and I would stay again if I'm ever back in New Orleans. Thank you Shawn for all your help.

We stopped here for 5 nights. Shawn, manager, was welcoming and helped us get situated on our asphalt site. Full hookups and decent price. Clean park with grassy area at site. Close to downtown but far enough away to be quiet. We will stay here again if passing this way! Shawn, thank you for friendly & informative chats.

I’ve stayed here long term, been here since the property opened and genuinely enjoyed it. It was conveniently located to my job. The crew that manages the property are wonderful and have done a great job keeping up with the property. The grounds are always well maintained. The bathroom facilities are clean. The people are friendly. It’s safe and quiet. Shawn is easy to contact. He’s always willing to help and go out of his way to do what needs to be done. It’s the perfect place for travelers and long term contract workers.

I help care for this lovely rv park. I take great pride in what I do. I hope that all our guests feel welcomed upon arrival and enjoy their stay with us.

I stayed here for 8 months and truly have not had as helpful of an experience anywhere else. Scott is very nice and Shawn is extremely helpful and takes great care to make everyone feel safe. As a single woman living alone, I felt watched out for by Shawn and his family, they even invited me for community time and offered to move my 5th wheel to safety during hurricane Ida. They all went above and beyond, they're super great people. The RV park is nice also!
bethanne babineaux
We stayed for 5 months and enjoyed our stay! Shawn and Leanne are great people. They go above and beyond I would recommend this park to any that needs a place to stay in that area.
Eugene Yee
This RV park was very nice. The park attendance are awesome. The park is well-kept, maintained, and safe. Sean is one of the head people at the park along with his wife. They are really awesome people. They don't bother you, unless of course, you need something. They're polite, courteous, and go out of their way to make sure you're okay and taking care of.
At night the park is well lit, not to much noise, and security cameras. During the day noise is a bit higher, but not to bad.
They have showers. 3 washers and 4 dryers, all coin operated. They do not have a change machine, so I got rolls of quarters from the truck stop in Belle Chase down the road.
It really is worth the price after seeing 6 other RV parks in the area, which I would not stay at. That's why I gave this a 5 star rating.
Lindsay Davis
We enjoyed our stay. Great friendly staff, and very helpful. Shawn ,the manger even offered and helped my husband set up our camper. We camped over the weekend. It was very clean and quiet.
Christopher Skelton
Are you military in transition? Wanting a calm piece of mind in a safe place? Well here it is. Sean the owner is very personable and took good care of me and my family and we were so glad we met him and stayed here. He even offered to help hook everything up. Will definitely stay when visiting Nola again.
D&J Carr
Great management!!! Very accommodating and helpful. No frills RV park. Close to the city but far away enough to be very quiet. We will stay here again and can't wait to see all the new additional campsites.
Jacqueline Brand
Great place to stay! Shawn and Leanne are amazing people.
Rosa Gonzalez
Campground was very clean and organized, we stayed there for 17 days. We have a 2022 Thor Freedom Elite 30FE and the space was just fine for us, staff members Shawn was always helpful and courteous, facilities were nice and always clean. We enjoyed our trip and we will definitely be coming back.
Madeleine Tellier Craig
Shawn and Scott were warm and welcoming. They helped us out of a sticky situation at another rv park we rented at. This park is safe, well kept and close enough to everything you want to explore in New Orleans.
Shane Thurman
My wife is a travel nurses living out of our 5th wheel from place to place. And I'm here to say that by far this is the most friendly, quiet and clean park that I have ever left her in. The staff goes beyond for their stayers. Shawn (Park Manager) was always there to help with anything. And for once I was comfortable leaving my wife and going home to do my job. If our travels ever bring us back to that area without a doubt this is the only park we will be staying at.
Evelyn Chavez
We stayed for almost three months!
It was great, Shawn was always very polite and ready to help us with anything. Very clean campground, and no too far from the city but no noisy disturbances. Highly recommend!
Benjamin St. Cyr
Bayou Barataria RV Park was my home away from home while working in New Orleans for 4 months. Well kept, lit up at night, good WiFi, reasonably priced, convenient laundromat, and Shawn went out of his way to always check in on everything. I highly recommend this park for work/long term stays.
KeErika Johnson
We stayed for a year and it was absolutely amazing. It’s very clean, quiet, and has friendly neighbors. Shawn and his family were very accommodating and always kept the place in great shape! This place is definitely my number 1 spot to stay!!!
Eileen Hatch
We’ve been at this great RV Park since 09/2017. Come take a look to see why we’ve felt safe through every hurricane to come through the Gulf in the past three years. We never had to vacate during any storms!
We recommend Bayou Barataria to anyone looking for a safe, well run RV Park whether for a few days, weeks, months, or longer! There is also a laundry room/shower facility on the premises. Mail can be picked up here as well. There is also a rack of area brochures available inside.
The owner and his crew are very conscientious and helpful. They make this the perfect location for exploring New Orleans!
Cristy Lovelace
I stayed here for several months while on an assignment. It is very safe, well lit and clean. The grass is always cut and the sites are level. Scott and Sam are very easy to communicate with. Very reasonable price. I highly recommend this RV park. Happy travels.
Derek Savoie
Great place to stay. The manager even helped me get into the lot being I haul my camper by myself and he even offered to help me get my camper set up. I paid up front and I ended up leaving a day early and he refunded me for the night I didn’t stay. Very quiet and friendly place with A+ management
Ryan M. Medina
Stayed two, well spent weeks here. It was safe, secure and all the other RV'ers were very friendly. Close enough to drive to the French Quarter and some amazing wetland hikes. The amenities were very clean (laundry, restrooms, hot showers and a place for mail to be left). The staff and owner were exceptionally hospitable and made us feel right at home as soon as we arrived. We will definitely return to Bayou Baratia RV Park for future visits, and would recommend anyone with an RV/trailer to come check it out!
brayan vindas
Amazing spots, great location not too close or far from the city. The staff has been so nice and friendly and gave great recommendations on where to sight see. One of the cleanest and neatly kept RV parks I’ve been to.
Stacy Chen
Sweet little place. Very clean bathrooms. Very seamless reservation process! (The caller even remembered to book me near the wifi source when I called again). Good phone reception and WiFi, and I was able to do remote online work! Only ~$200 for one week, which is really affordable price. Clean bathrooms and welcoming owners. They are so personable and took time to help us settle into our spot and fix things up for us.
Only qualm is that the owners don’t wear masks during the pandemic. Something to improve upon.
Really enjoyed our stay.
Shawn Newman
Lovely park that the owner continually tends too! Beautiful little gardens and well kept landscaping. An adorable bathhouse that is very clean with a convenient set of washers and dryers. The park is also conveniently located near a variety of stores and historical downtown New Orleans.
Lynn Shelley
Sean and Leanne were incredible helps to us. We arrived after dark and they actually helped us set up our RV and get settled for the night. They went so far has to have their children bring us a take-out dinner. We've never had such a personal and friendly experience and all of our travels.
John Mask
Great staff plenty of spacious camper spots and spots for utility trailers etc. Pet friendly the only thing I would say they could add or need is maybe a bending machine in the shower/laundry building that dispenses detergent, fabric softener, dryer sheets.
Steven Urich
Stayed at the Bayou Barataria RV Park and enjoyed what they had to offer. Hot showers, that were very clean, laundry, and a good location to reach New Orleans. I'm a pretty simple guy and this spot suited my needs perfectly. Definitely would recommend this place to a friend, the owner is very nice and easy to work with.
The area is well lite and very safe.

The Bayou Barataria RV Park is perfect for that long term stay or quick trip into NOLA. Located just outside the busy city areas but within quick driving distance to all of NOLA. Terry the Operations Manager is super friendly, I've been in the park for a month now and everyday I see him up working from sun-up to sun-down, doing plumbing, electrical, upgrades and he's easy to get ahold of if there's any issues with park. Scott the owner has always been super friendly, upfront, and easy to work with. Clean, quiet, and safe,,,I highly recommend this park.

The owner and manager are very friendly and have personally helped me with a few hiccups I’ve had (my fault not theirs) the prices are reasonable. Would like to see more amenities but appreciate how safe the area is.

This park was a pleasant surprise! My wife and I were on an epic road trip in our GMC van and decided to visit New Orleans, having never been there before....well we called Barataria, talked to Scott and he got us a spot, we were lucky to get it because Mardi Gras was going on and the town was booked, what's funny is that we didn't know it was Mardi Gras! We were clueless as we were just traveling around the South. In any case, Scott got us in for two nights allowing us to experience the festivities. I say, if life presents you with a party, well, go party.
Back to the RV park, clean, restrooms were spotless, fairly easy to get to, quiet and the manager Terry was just the nicest, friendliest most accommodating guy, take cash though because I just paid Terry when he came by with his receipt book so I don't know it they are set up for a card, but no matter! Cash is King! I don't have a need for water or sewer hook-ups but I did use the electricity to run my Dometic refrig. The park was full but I didn't see too many people out and about. We went to the Naval Air Station 8 miles away to use the NEX and credit union. We also took Uber to and from New Orleans and Uber will come to the park, coming back Saturday night we had to pay surge pricing, YIPES!! In any case I would not hesitate to stay there again, it was well run and and clean. Interesting note....the last night there a huge storm blew in, lightning, thunder and rain so bad you couldn't see across the street, we slept well and the next morning there was hardly a pool of water, so the park must be drained well. P.S.....if you sit outdoors at night, wear your sunglasses, these good people did not skimp on the security lighting that's for sure. Cheers!

First of all, the pictures do not do this place justice. It's a very popular place.
We stayed for just over two weeks. The price was good, but mostly because the owner, Scott, misquoted the weekly rate but then honored it anyway. Scott is an exceptional guy, we liked him immediately and that only improved over time. We have deep respect for the man.
First impressions: area is industrial, near waterways. Dusty, traffic/trucks. Park: off the main street, over a rickety bridge. New, slightly rough around the edges and clean as could be. Lots are smallish, grass and limestone. No trees. Space was tight, nearly every spot was rented and, according to Scott, many were long-term residents who worked professional jobs. We saw lots of toy haulers, ATVs, motorcycles and pickup trucks. Nice mix of rigs.
Scott helped us into a tight spot. We have one of the smallest trailers so it made sense. Most of the spots are larger…
The laundry/bathroom/shower house is near the entrance of the park. We’ve never seen such clean facilities in an RV park. Two bathroom/shower combos – one for women and one for men, next to each other in the same room. Three washers and three dryers ($2 each). Did I mention how clean it was?
The maintenance guy, Terry, was truly a treat. Made me think of every single nice character from the deep south I ever saw in a movie. He could be a beloved character in a novel, or a warm, funny brother or uncle in a television show. Love him.
Housing development over the fence next door, with crowing roosters day and night. We found the sound charming. Grassy area near the channel to walk, birds and turtles all over the place, rumors of an alligator living nearby. Resident armadillo in the park, circles in the street at night.
Stadium lights surround the park and shine all night, providing a sense of security. Long-term residents mostly kept to themselves but were quick to offer a wave. A few residents were very kind, sharing amazing tips and tricks for parking and partying in the city. Small dogs are allowed, often seen walking on leashes in the morning hours. Rules posted against speeding and drugs (“c’mon man” LOL), but nothing about noise. We were worried about lack of posted “quiet time,” but the residents were never loud or rude.
The park is close to New Orleans (15 minutes). Target, Walmart, Walgreens, lots of shopping centers were 10-15 minutes away. Nearby neighborhoods seem sketchy, but we still felt safe in the park. OMG check out "The Point" for breakfast or lunch (5 minutes away). Casino (Boomtown) is very close, but the food was mediocre.
This was the nicest RV park near New Orleans (we researched them all), and well worth the price. The other options in the price range are pretty scary, and the expense downtown parks get terrible reviews for safety and customer service.
Uber, Lyft are easy to get in the park.
Drawbacks and kudos: Wifi was sometimes intermittent, but Scott always made sure any issues were fixed immediately. Park residents are respectful and quiet, but sometimes fighter jets from a nearby military base soar through the skies above. Very loud at times, but it only happens once or twice a week for an hour or two (Note: some other residents say the trains at the other parks are much worse). Kind of cool to watch, though – just cover your ears.
It really makes a difference when the owner takes pride in his park, and Scott made us fell like honored guests. He was helpful and attentive, and his attitude made up for the lack of amenities. And he was SUPER NICE. We were lucky to find Bayou Barataria.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Final impression: popular place, best RV park near New Orleans. Comfortable, clean, safe, quiet (military jets notwithstanding).
John Sellars
Bayou Barataria is our go-to when we visit New Orleans. Clean, level sites and minutes from town. The bath house is always clean and they have several washers and driers.

Clean and quiet place to stay a night, week, or month. Hookups are new 50 and 30 amp, well lit grounds, and wide road with easy access. Terry, the property custodian lives down the street friendly and professional.
