Reviews of Lebanon Hills Regional Park
Sheena Curry
I love this park! There are so many trails, lakes and small ponds to discover. It's also large enough to get "lost in the woods" without really getting lost. The trails are well marked and there are maps everywhere. Highly recommend!
Tiffany Hinderscheit
What a beautiful place to walk! Walked around Lake McDonough and Jensen Lake and were both beautiful! So many different trails to take! Just being out in nature will make you forget the stress of life. Would highly recommend!
Lou Lou
I love this park! Went on a moderate loop and did about five miles. Lots of choices for hiking. Cross country skiing in winter. Trails are quite muddy right now so be prepared with adequate shoes. Great birding too!
Alex Rudie
A beautiful escape from the city. Away from major roads, you can't hear traffic. A lovely selection of trails for hiking, running, skiing, riding, and lakes for canoeing. I love coming here in the morning. Come spot deer, hawks, woodpeckers, vultures, frogs, and so many more animals.
Chris B
Truly a hiker's paradise!
For a park this close to the Cities, it's pretty amazing just how many miles of hiking you have and also how alone you can feel at times on the trails!
My personal favorite route is to start at the far Eastern parking lot, and then go up to the Equestrian Trailhead, then begin heading west until you meet up with Southern Voyager, then follow this all the way to the Jensen Lake loop, go around the lake, and then you can either head back the same way or take Northern Voyager. It's almost exactly 7 miles to do this trail and honestly one of the best hikes I've ever been on.
Tons of white-tail deer, wild turkeys, and turtles at this park. Have also seen coyotes on rare occasion. There is a county ranger/sheriff who patrols this park on a weekly basis and he'll sometimes give a friendly warning not to go on the equestrian trails.
Really wonderful park overall! You can rent equipment online or at the visitor center.
About 2,000 acres and I like being able to refill water at both the visitor center area and the Jensen Lake trailhead. Also a nice beach and swimming area near the visitor center. Wish I had taken more autumn pics but have some pics from all 4 seasons.
Ted Leroux
This park exceeded my expectations as a Regional Park. Trails are extremely well labeled, lots of lakes to hike around and canoe through (Portage Boundary Waters style) , the Visitors Center is clean and the staff is helpful. Fantastic day activity in the south metro!
Josh
There are various parking lots at Lebanon Hills. Most of them have an associated building with restrooms and picnic areas. The winter trails for cross country skiing, snowshoeing and hiking are relatively extensive and have good views traversing small lakes. The trails are also very well marked and most junctions include a msp
Sam Busacker
Made a habit of coming here weekly, it's a really huge place I enjoyed walking endlessly. Not a lot of people, it's got vistas and lakes and lots of nice views.
Dylan Vogel
Love feeling like youre out of town even when youre right in town. Nicely groomed trail for an easy early morning hike!
Emily Kubat
Well maintained campground with nice bathrooms, showers, and playground. Lots of great hiking trails.
Steve P
LOVED this park - incredibly massive and a large scope of challenges for all levels of activity you may be seeking. Visited when it was cold and it was so serene and beautiful. The people visiting were friendly and courteous, especially with their dogs. Parking also was easy and the very accessible pathways make navigation easy.
Costas Stavrou
Great place to be close to nature without having to drive for hours. Since our last visit more picnic tables and grill stands have been added. There are 2 big decks too with wheelchair access.
Mir Farrokh Salek
Nice trail and lake and Ok Beach.
Kayak rentals are good price. But lake is small. Good if you want to experience SUP
Chris Gram
We tried out a kayak rental. The lake where they have those rentals is pretty small. I read on the website that it seems you can carry canoes from lake to lake within the park but I wasn't clear on how that works. Overall it was a fun time hour a half hour or so
Nancy Garg
Loved the place.
Beach dint had stones, makes easier for kids. We brought pizza with us for food and were able to get one of the big umbrella to place our chairs underneath. Somehow, not as big as rest of the beaches I have visited.
Tim Matson
A beautiful park with great amenities. Wonderful hiking trails with both paved and unpaved. Nature at it's finest in the middle of suburbia. Located within minutes of our home.
anand reddy
Plenty of hike/horse trails. A good place for family, friends, photographers etc. There’s a small beach which is pretty clean but no dogs allowed on the beach. It’s safe enough to go off trail and picnic. It’s a huge park packed with people, but if you are a regular you’ll find spots for yourself.
Emily Lu
Friendly staff and offers all kinds of winter sport rentals at reasonable price. Nice walking trails and we had fun doing the kick sledding on the lake and in the woods.
Kim Burke
Lebanon Hills Park has something for everyone with seven lakes and 15 miles of trails. Trails are well marked with maps. Paper maps are available as well. Virtually impossible to get lost. Hiking, swimming, fishing, biking, paddleboard, kayaking,, canoeing, horseback trails, skiing, picnic areas. Moderate difficulty. Bring big spray.
Brad Dosch
Absolutely best ski trails....easy to moderately challenging but nicely/deeply “tracked” x.c. trails that are all well marked and beautifully scenic. All trail winding through deep hardwood and pine forests with ponds, streams, and lakes all interconnecting. We skied for 4 hours and didn’t see 10% of this vast preserve. Helpful staff at the visitors center were welcoming and customer oriented. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Georgia L. Harris
Best trail signs ever! This was a lovely hike in a beautiful fall day. Heard about the trail here from a friend who wasn’t able to join us, so we went anyway and were glad we did. Saw a really cool water snake when we stopped for lunch and sat on one of the many benches along the trail. Fairly easy hike with a few small hilly sections.
Cat Cain
What a nice place to relax and especially to have a family reunion! It was difficult last year, when we were caught with rain & chill in June 2018, We found out after the fact, you can bring your own canopies to use if there is rain. This year's June 1st reunion was amazing, with matching amazing weather! There are outlets along a ledge that goes all along the center wall in the back middle of the space we rented, so we were able to keep food warmed/ hot. There are great views at this shelter and it's fairly close to the visitor's center, an awesome fire pit, picnic tables & grills, as well as walking trails around the little beach & beyond. We're probably going to keep booking this place year after year. Love this park! Staff are very helpful & pleasant, as well.
Mackenzie Dwyer
STUNNING hiking trails! You could spend all day here and still not explore all of the little trails. They're nicely shaded due to the thick forest. You can get a trail map from the rental office, which I highly recommend. It's easy to get lost here, but with a trail map in hand and one at every junction, we easily managed to keep our bearings.
Glenda Life Journey USA
It's a perfect place for your hammock and enjoy listening to the frogs croaking or birds chirping around. They have that nice playground too but bathrooms still closed due to this Covid-19.
jereme schulz
Beautiful park with great trails to explore.i have been here several times and each I've taken a different path.i would like to see trash receptively on the far side of the trails, they only appear best the main facility and that leaves large areas where you are packing your yeah back out. Though the park is still clean, don't see much rubbish.
Julie
This park never disappoints me. All the trails are an adventure no matter how many times we hike them. Something new to see with every season!
Dhanya Devaraj
Lebanon hills is one best experience of hiking!
There's is peace everywhere. It's quiet and nice.the maps were really helpful. There's no chance of getting lost.Even if you're lost you are not actually lost! You somehow find a way. It's a perfect place for a picnic, a hike etc.Totally loved the experience !
R M.
Such a beautiful and clean park with lots of trails. We did some geocaching here while walking our dog. Fall colors are stunning right now and it was cool to see some horses on the trails. We also saw a salamander!
George Gribble
A great place to hike, there is a beach you can kayak or canoe. This is a very nice Regional Park. A few trails are paved if your party includes a wheelchair. There is free EV charging at the parking lot near Schultz lake.
Eric Larsen
I love this place. Every entrance gives you a different vibe. I recommend walking the jenson lake entrance down by canoe drop off. It's a beautiful loop with elevated walking paths and great views of water. I even saw a deer up close.
Casi B
Well-maintained trails throughout. Combination of dirt paths (and occasionally sand), and wooden slats. Jensen Lake trailhead is a great ~2.25 mile loop, but you could easily hike 10 miles through the various interconnected trails.
Brandon Hobbs
Its a great place with a lot of paths to walk on and you can rent kayaks and go out on the water also and it does have restrooms on site and a visitor center.
Virendra Soni
Loved the trails for a walk. The MTB trails are one of the best in twin cities area. Rode the blue and green, it was fun.
Chantal Bjorklund
My new favorite spot! I just wish I would've discovered this place sooner! There is something for kids and grown ups of all ages here. Paddle board, canoe, or kayak rentals plus the beach is amazing! Love this place!
Rukshan W
Great Single Track mountain biking area. Not too long, not too short. Lots of jumps, switchbacks, banks, low bridges etc. Also has a warm up area before you head in.
Perfect for all skill levels. Saw several families take on the trails. There are two bike maintenance stations and public rest rooms at the trail head.
Myra Chang
Beautiful park with lots of well marked trails. Great for a leisurely walk or even a trail run. A ton of slight inclines and declines but be careful of the rocks and roots.
Lynne Halterman
Beautiful, clean, nice trails and paths. Beautiful hidden crooked bridge. Bring water and walking shoes. No place to bike so be prepared to walk.
Stephanie D.
Lovely place for a walk with kids or pets. Paved walkways for strollers around a lake, and hiking paths too!
Luciano Insua
The place is absolutely gorgeous! Clean, neat and we'll kept. Perfect place if you need to do something in the Twin Cities. Only 25 minutes from the airport and 35' from downtown Minneapolis.
Laura
Such a beautiful park with lots of options of things to do year round! Great trails for hiking, biking, and riding horses in the warmer months. In winter you can cross country ski and snowshoe. I love the lakes, and there is a nice beach on one of them, and you can rent paddle boards too! Definitely a place worth checking out.
Jordan Adams
Nice, quiet, easy to get to. The site we were on was large, although not very level. The restrooms were clean and showers worked well. The full hookup sites were smaller and closer together, but that's typical.
Justin Vander Ziel
The volunteers have done a great job of clearing out a lot of the buckthorn that was choking out the native plants and now you can see into the forest to admire the beautiful fall colors coming through. Lake Jensen had always been one of my favorite lakes for walking.
JS
Awesome Park. Great place to bring the dog! So many walking trails. Great views of the lakes. Private. Clean, fun side paths, great place to take photos during anytime of the year.
Mark Lais
Very busy on beautiful fall day during covid. Excellent walking/running trails.
David HUDGENS
Just an awesome park with plenty of trails, ponds, and things to do.
Karly H (Exploring the lakes!)
Kayaking was adorable and comfortable. I would love to come again! The lake is Alittle small and can get really crowded fast!
Anna Renvall
Beautiful park reserve with many recreational options. Especially fun winter recreation. I go with my young kids but see people in many ages/lifestyles enjoying the park. Excellent visitors center with games, fireplace, hot drinks, play area and educational materials. Helpful staff.
Nora Smith
Love this Park within the city, hiking trail, lake or you can rent canoe etc. there is a picnic , swimming , fishing and hiking area, they did a lot of improvement of this park especially the winding wood walkway trail very nice!
Joy R
Love the trails. Today there was a tree down on the path just fyi but I am sure it will be cleared though. They have campgrounds. They rent kayaks, canoes.lake is small .you can do portaging with the canoes which connect to other areas which is fun. I believe its 5 miles if you bring the canoe to each section. They include life jackets and paddles. They also offer fishing gear for free minus bait.
Scott Eggert
Miles of hiking trails, mountain biking, camping. Canoe, paddle board and kayak rentals. Beach and visitors center.
Melissa Mokarzel
Very nice staff! Very clean bathrooms/bath house. Level, gravel pads for campers. Quiet campground. Firewood, snacks and ice available for purchase. PET FRIENDLY! FHU for campers and RV’s. Dump station easy access.
Poindexter Travel
First time here today. When I arrived parking was easy, and it was not crowded. We started to walk the paths, they were nice and clean. It was nice to have a country feel right in the city. Id say they only thing I wish was the lake had more open views. There is so many trees its pretty hard to see out of the walking path, besides in some spots. If I came back again it would be as a work out spot to walk around the lakes paths, or to take my dogs for a walk. If you have kids they have a nice playground. I also did see a open place to hang up your tree swings and relax while grilling. There were multiple locations to grill.
kelly cervantes
Relaxing and Beautiful and peaceful place to go and injoy your day .❤❤❤ Absolutely love Lebanon
Jon Grebner
Filled with so many fantastic paths, trails, playground equipment, fields, green spaces, and picnic sheds, there is something for everybody in your crew at Lebanon Hills Regional Park. Bonus, all the dogs are on leash and adorable.
Stacey Borgert
They have one direction walking paths (due to COVID) to help limit crossing past people also walking. We went at sunset and it was a beautiful walk.
dochenry
Great place for a outdoor adventures! Very easy to walk from lake to lake on the well maintained trails. Lots of great views and facilities as well!
Ishara Waduge
felt like the trails are not maintained enough. There is a nice beach where can be so busy in Summer holidays. The beach is very nice to be relaxing when the sun is not very hot
Tania Richter
A fantastic park to visit with tons of trails and wildlife. Especially great for birding and hiking.
Oscar Nickila
You can walk on the frozen ice which is pretty cool, you can also walk around on the many trails and hills
Colby Era
Love this park. My favorite in the metro. You can connect all three portions of the park almost without going on pavement ~20+ miles. Rent kayak and portage, hike, bike, horse. Well maintained.
Brian Petersen
Lebanon Hills Regional Park is a beautiful, well maintained, nature reserve and recreation area in Eagan and Apple Valley, MN. Included in its scenic vistas is Schulze Lake beach, which is one of the premier lake fronts in the Twin Cities.
Kristin Borchers
I LOVE this place! Best local place for a great hike! Surrounded by so much beauty. ♡
John McMellen
Lots of trails to explore, we hope to visit again. Well maintained, beautiful hike.
Arvind Naik
A great place to spend with family and in nature. Lots of trails, picnic areas, community center, kayaks and canoe rentals. Beautiful in both summer and winters. My home is nearby and this place is a great blessing. We would come everyday if we can.
Kayla Schaapveld
Great paths for a wintery run. I am training for a 50k run and I was able to run for about 2 hours by looping around twice. I started my run by 9am and it was quite busy by the time I left. I recommend to avoid crowds and go earlier.
Kirstin Sinner
A beautiful place to do some walking, cross country skiing, or snowshoeing in the winter! My husband and I can’t wait to visit again in the summer - our dog loved it too!
Reda B.
It s a wonderful park for summer time. Beach is nice and clean. Paths everywhere. Barbecue and kayak and canoe are good activities.
Brianna Inamagua
This park is beautiful and it has tons of trails. There's a long rustic wooden bridge over the water and tons of frogs, butterflies, birds, and sometimes blackberries. There's also an amazing beach and canoe or peddle boat rentals.
Margaret Lais
I had a lovely private retreat in the building on site in this very nice park. knotty pine walls, ceilings and hardwood floors, wood burning old brick fireplace, tall windows overlooking a mixed-trees forest, window benches, and even a place to hang your coat, on hangers, with a bench to sit down and take off tour boots.
Tables and chairs available on site. Adequate kitchen, bathrooms, seems like I saw a door marked showers, too.
Building was comfortable, and we were able to adjust temperatures to our liking. Not sure if there is air conditioning, but were were only interested in heat, as we watched an early April snow flurry filter through the trees. It was warm enough to melt on contact with the ground, but cool enough for jackets and heat.
Decent parking, and easy freeway access. Within a mile or two of the Minnesota Zoo, which was closed this Sunday evening. I would have stopped in!
Joyce Kovacs
Love this place. So nice during the week, much less crowded. Nice length walk, all paved, around the lake. Leaves are beautiful 😍 …
Kristy S
Lake is small but the park is beautiful, cozy and relaxing. I love coming here during the summer and fall. It definitely brings out Minnesota’s beauty.
Jessica Copeland
Beautiful, peaceful place. Nice walking paths. Nice picnic areas.
Daniel Randolph
Lebby is the Twin Cities premier mountain bike park. There is something for every level of rider. Trails are generally open it its dry. Their are heated bathrooms/changing rooms, plenty of parking, picnic tables and walking trails. Take caution, this trail has people of all abilities so be kind to each other.
Lauren Crosbie
Amazing walking paths, great nature. Also too my engagement pictures here and they turned out amazing!
S M
Quiet campgrounds, well kept and convenient location. Only down side is there is a path through our camp site to the bathrooms, so lot of foot traffic, early in the morning and late at night.
Kim Cairns
Wonderful extensive trail system! Well maintained trails, heavily trees, lots of ponds and lakes. Perfect green space in the middle of the suburbs
Jake skouge
Clean, well maintained, and so huge you could go almost every day in the summer and not take the same route twice. love it. beach is great for the kids. trails are (mostly) dog friendly (beach is not) great for hiking, swimming, cross countryskiing, snow shoeing and they even have horseback trails ,
John Muellner (Sting and Luigi Channel)
Great walking trails. Our greyhounds had a great time.
Rauthi P
Perfect for hiking, it's open all season long.
Samuel Gunvalson
Lebanon Hills is a fantastic mountain biking Park. It has a lot of technical features then some of the other parks around the area. Pretty dusty and can be slippery but it's a lot of fun, lots of miles.
Sashank Narayan
Really nice place for a quick, relaxed weekend outing or small gathering. Lots of hiking paths around the park. There's a pretty big lake for swimming and boating, with very cheap kayak and canoe rentals.
Eric Guelcher
Great place to hike. Many miles of trails through the woods and opportunities to enjoy wildlife such as deer and turkeys. Bathrooms and shelters as well.
marz hamilton
Such amazing views and an awesome hike!
Dan Henry
Really fortunate to live in an area where ee not only have gorgeous parks but they come with amenities such as equipment rental - as in the case of Lebanon Hills. Rediscovered the fun of kayaking this summer thanks to Dakota County Park & Rec!
Tony Ghilani
An incredible asset to the community. The trails are endless and the park is beautiful. There’s a sand beach and two lakes with water access for canoes, Kayaks or paddle boards. You could spend an hour or an entire day here.
Jennifer Hing
Nice area, went to the cliff road location. There are trails, beautiful scenery, picnic grounds and a big park. Perfect place for family picnics.
chris apgar
Great trails with easy to follow markers for variations. Beautiful views all year round!!
Josh Montenegro
Lots of fun..! If one section doesn't suit your fancy, move to another. There are a lot of spots to explore. Fishing is fun with kiddos and there is a lot to catch, super small fishies, but entertaining nonetheless....
Sean Conley
Great place to grill, fish, swim... You name it. Love coming here.
Mark Dolan
It's just great to have parks with great and diverse walking paths. To be on four-lane roads and only minutes away be tucked back into nature. We are fortunate to have had leadership in our county and state to keep Minnesota different than other places in the country.
Tara
Very nice park with lots of walking trails through woods. Small but nice beach. Very neat fire pit and seating area. Rentals for canoes and kayaks available. Lots of places to sit and relax. Parking is a little odd since there are permit spots mixed with non permit spots, but it's not bad! I really highly recommend the walking trails here!
Austin Long
Well maintained trails and good signage so you don't get lost.
Jeremy Kromer
Majestic place that feels like your in the middle of nowhere! Trails are well marked and lots of wildlife to see. Schulze Lake is highly recommended for a quite swim beach for families!
Burt Scott
Great park to take a 45 minute "hike" around a lake, or do more, around several lies, all in a forest setting. Well marked trails with maps at intersections. Areas designed for canoeing with portages.
Ben
Overall the park and nearby lakes are great. The trails are great for novice hikers on up. Huge area to explore! Pretty busy on the main trails, but lots of side trails that very quiet. The lake is pleasant, and pretty busy during the summer. There's a small sled hill here during the winter.
Daniel G
This is a beautiful and large park. Nice easy hiking trails.
Chuck Williams
Great location for easy trial hiking. Lots of trails to choose from.

Mary Wakefield
Nice clean campground. A little on the pricey side but quite as nd clean
Tim
One of the best parks for a good family reunion. However, just be mindful of the construction.
Jacob G
Beautiful park even in the winter! Good for hiking or snowshoeing or even cross country skiing! They have groomed trails and rental equipment. Oh and did I mention this park is free of charge!!
Nathan Anton
Nice camp ground. Sites are a bit close to one another but it seems secluded, even though you're basically in the middle of the city.
Bondo008
Great place to hike and enjoy nature right within the city.
Sujeet Ingle
Relaxed and beautiful and peaceful place to go and enjoy your day. Absolutely love Lebanon
Lynn Christopherson
Walking at this park is a great place to explore and get some exercise outside.
Nick Schwendeman
Great variety of trails to choose from, well marked. Check their website for the Avenza maps app for even better map options.
Jeremy Morris
Lebanon Hills' extensive trail system is simply amazing for a suburban setting. The playground at Jensen Lake is great for all kids. The new fishing pier at Holland Lake is beautiful. There are ample bike, horse, portaging, and designated winter trails. The visitor's center near Schultz's Beach nights sustainability. So many rental opportunities! The whole park is a gem! Just be sure to grab a map and plan your routes because trails crisscross and signage can be confusing.
Naveen Reddy
Good place for evening walks
Matt Black
The park was nice. The lake was peaceful but the kayak/canoe launch is really mucky
Veasna Chak
Very popular park with lots of amenities! Great for picnicking, swimming, paddle boarding, walking, relaxing and so much more. The walking trails are maintained very well and are dog friendly. Overall, very serene and relaxing way to spend time on a weekend.
Pavithra S
Love this place!! We live just a few minutes away from Lebanon Hills. So whenever we want a quick getaway, this is our first choice ! It's such a relaxing and well-maintained Beach area. You can also bring your own canoe or get one from the visitor center. The trails are also wonderful. There is one loop trail that takes you around the lake and gives you plenty of good views of the surrounding areas! Very clean, family friendly, pet friendly picnic areas. The restrooms are always very clean!!
Perry Abel
Always a great place to hike or as I like to say just take a stroll
Amanda Cina
Amazing park that makes you feel like you're lost in the woods but you're still in the city!
Mavis Greene
Nice Park , Very friendly staff Loved the recycle bag given by park staff for personal use. Would stay again.
J Bright
Great place to walk trails, there are so many!
Michele Kleason
Most trails were dry from the snow on 4-21. First paddleboarder was spotted in the back ponds. She had portaged from Holland.
Maria Day
Stumbled upon this hidden gem, lovely little beach, bathroom and rinse station. Nice trail around lake.
Mere Kern
Went to the campground here it was really nice, they have lots of trails and beach access at the park. They also are a pet friendly campground!
Big Daddy (BigDaddyvwxyz)
Lakes, forest, wild flowers, hiking trails, great place to have fun with kids. Swimming beach with community toys too!
Laurel F
A beautiful spot to take fall photos! Nice trails and a quiet spot - even though it is in the heart of suburbia.
Craig White
Such a great park! We just moved to the area but we will be back!
Anne Mulvihill
Lebanon hills is awesome - 3 different entrances, several different trails, great views, and lots of fun activities. The area is clean and well-maintained. My favorite entrance is the Jensen Lake one off pilot knob, but all three are good and the trails all connect. They also have a 5 mile canoe portage loop I'm excited to try!
Margo Lucas
We love Shultz beach! Get here early because it fills up!
michael jansen
Awesome beautiful trails!
DeDe Hinrichs
Beautiful easy nature trails
Nici Mauch
Beautiful park. Friendly staff. Easy kayak rentals. (Suited more for beginners.)
Kyle Aistrup
Saw a cougar here about 7 years ago walking the trail, didn’t know they existed here until recently, so I wasn’t wrong then, it was hiding in a cave on the trail I saw the eyes and face only.
Greg “Bosco” Robinson
One of the best county parks in the metro area. Extensive, easy walking and cross country ski trails. Nice swimming beach. Canoe, kayak and paddle board rentals.
Very crowded on weekends and afternoons during summer school vacation.
Chris Devine
Awesome single track in the city! Plenty of different leveled riding trails with a few reds with great drops and fun climbs.
Pizza Cat69
Pretty basic beach, but sense they just cleaned it, it was really nice and way warmer than usual, plus the girls were nice
Jenifer Berndt
We had a lovely small picnic here. Picked up some delicious Rackshack and got a picnic table under a tree with a beautiful view of the lake! Be aware we encountered a group of 20+ people partying, unmasked. We felt we were able to be distant enough, but not everyone might feel comfortable
Emily Erickson
Beautiful area and well kept facilities. The trails go on for miles and there is always something new to see.
Todd Kuester
Nice day for nature walk with wife and kid after being sick all week
Chrissi Prom
Beautiful park for hiking, walking, trail running, cross country skiing, but I would not recommend it you are looking for paved paths and planning long distance running. There is about a mile of paved path, which is very busy on nice days, but the rest is all trail. Great if you want trail! Not so great if you are looking to hit pavement!
Karina Iommazzo
I love this walking location, it is so beautiful and it feels like you are walking in multiple different areas. Some locations have pine trees others are more hills and tall grasses. These paths can be a little thin at times and rough, but it is fine if you are wearing the right shoes. My only warning is to check the pollen on the day you plan to go. My friend and I have pollen allergies and went on a day that the count was up and we came out walking sniffling. This location is not only great for walking, but there are also people who canoe, hammock, bike, and horse back ride here. This location is also kept clean and the scenery is wonderful. My friends went to take pictures there and they came out wonderful.
Sue Brown
We brought our tent and stayed for two nights. Our spot is secluded with a lot of space. The bathrooms are nice. There is a great kids play area. The park is located in a good area away from civilization, but close enough to the bigger stores if you need to run for something forgotten.
Mark Pantano
Great trails here for hiking in the summer and cross country skiing in the winter. A lot of signage to guide you through the twisting paths. You won't see it all in one day! There is a beach on a lake with a roped off swimming area as well.
Daniel Ramirez
Great trails for hiking and they usually have a lot of family activities going on and rentals on canoes
B.E. Kerian
Wonderful environment. And good trails, not to mention beautiful views of the lake(s). Will definitely love to come visit again.
Ryan S
It's pretty good to walk around, but there are a lot of unofficial trails everywhere and I ended up getting lost a lot. I'm not taking like deer trails, but ones that are reasonably well taken care of that are just not on the map. There are parts where horses are only allowed, and parts where horses are not allowed, and I saw piles of horse poop in a few places that horses shouldn't be allowed to go. Lots of people don't pick up after their dogs either.
Twin City Siding Solutions LLC
Best intermediate mountain bike trails in the Twin Cities.

I shot a family session here and it was absolutely beautiful. The trails are lovely.

What a beautiful facility and park land! I had a little time to spare yesterday and so I went to Lebanon Hills Regional Park. I walked on one of the footpaths around a lake, and enjoyed the scenery and serenity. I noticed that by the beach, there were posts for hammocks! What a great idea! The bathrooms were clean, and the grounds were well-maintained. I'll definitely be back!
Pachee Xiong
This regional park is huge! I've only been able to hike little parts of it but my parents rest did enjoy hiking the longest route. It took them about 4 hours. The nature scenery isn't what I expected so only 4 stars but still pretty nice!
Scott Wojahn
Love the mountain bike, running and hiking trails.
Patricia Heller
This park is a gem. It has groomed trails, hiking trails, lakes, playgrounds. And it is huge. My son and I love to hike there all year round. The park is well maintained and constantly being improved. It is worth coming. Plan for a day to explore.

A perfect place to hike !
1.Many small trails to just lost yourself in nature.
2.They include small map board everywhere, it is unlikely to actually get lost even without your smartphone
3. You can swim there and enjoy the beach
4. Just naturally beautiful 😉
Joe Janochoski
Miles and miles of trails (some in excellent shape, others a little rough) with beautiful lakes and ponds spread throughout. Also, there is a nice swimming area with restrooms and a visitor center.
Great for a day at the beach (water can be chilly early in the summer!), or hiking/trail running.
Zach Rapatz
Lebanon Hills is a great park for individuals or families. There is a swimming beach, places to picnick or grill, and a nice walking trail. There are even posts set up near the water for relaxing in a hammock if that's your thing.
Francis Keys
I'd never been to this park before yesterday, despite it being less than ten miles away from my childhood home. I spent a perfect autumn evening around the firepit with great company. Plenty of parking, trails, and picnic spots.
Jose Santana
It's a wonderful place, where you can go hiking trails and the have a beach, you can go for a swim o cannoing.
Shannon
My husband have been there several times. We just went there the other day. The trails are great and it is so pleasant to walk through a beautiful forest bordering a lovely lake. They have restricted the direction for walking to one way on the narrow trails to make it safer for everyone.
Lisa H
Secret in the city! this park is huge and has MANY trails. bring a map along or know how to read the signs throughout. Great place to train for a hiking trip as you can loop around and get 10+ miles in easily. Also great for trail running. Overall the trails are in good condition - we went in March and it was muddy and that's expected, but they maintain the trails throughout and it's always well marked and busy. Bathrooms are located on either the east or west end, didn't see anything in between. They do have horse trails as well and many trails in winter are designated for skiers.
Bring water and snacks and get out and enjoy nature!
Freddy Camacho
Excellent park. It has a great deal of trails, however, they are geared more towards hikers and horses you can still ride the mountain bike, you just have to be careful for pedestrians since they have the right of way. So riding at fast speeds is not recommended. I did only 6.1 miles and they felt like 12, perhaps because it was my first time and didn't know where I was going. The map points and markers are the best way to navigate the place, I tried with my GPS and it helped me so far. I recommend staying in the horse trails since they are wider but the hikers only trails are not impossible either, they are narrower. Enjoy your time here
Mike Mulvihill
so awesome to have a place like this close to home.
expansive hiking network and canoeing w/ portages.
Close enough to home to have a mini-adventure after work.
Sheri Berube
Beautiful park!!! Family friendly.
kevin graff
Very nice park. The bathrooms were clean and the park was quiet. The staff does a great job. We travel all summer and this park rates on the high end. Hopefully the county will have the people return and keep everything clean. When we arrived early they let us have our spot. The 4th of July was quiet and we saw some great fireworks from a distant village. Thanks
Aidan Willard
Fantastic range of trails, ranging from beginner to very advanced riders. The downhill segments are smooth yet challenging. The blue trails have fantastic flow and a good amount of jumps. Leb also offers a great skills course for honing your technique for the trails!
Dennis D. Huston
Very nice and many options. Well worth the visit. The have boats and other things to rent. They also have camp sites if want stay somewhere near to town.
Abhishek Reddy Chamakura
Lebanon Hills Regional park is very peaceful , pleasant , with well paved and unpaved hiking trials .. lot of greenery .. good for small and long hikes. This park is pet friendly
There is a big lake in the park with a huge deck where people can go fishing and just stand and enjoy the beauty of the lake and the picturesque views ..
You can rent kayaks , paddle board , canoe, winter equipment - skis , kick sleds and passes.very friendly park staff and very helpful
Plenty of parking at the park and also few slots for electric cars park and charge.
Also at the Holland shelter Lebanon hills park there is a compost drop off

We had a wonderful stay at this campground, the bathrooms are very clean, the sites in the west loop had a lot of space between sites which I liked! And the bathrooms in the west loop are very close by. There are also a lot of walking trails. Over all a great campground!
Don Canton
Friendly staff and easy to access. The weather was terrible during my stay (no one's fault, obviously), but I'd love to come back.
Kiley Van Daalen
SUCH a beautiful park. I shoot photos here all the time (and have purchased the park photo pass) from a photographer standpoint it’s one of the best photo spots in the area. There is a great beach too and some amazing walking paths!
Holly Stewart
Very pretty and engaging park. Took my kids on a walk and found a snapping turtle hanging out on a log!
Karina Marin
This park has everything you need for any sport you want to perform. It has a wonderful beach where you can swim and the lake is big enough to canoeing, kayaking and paddleboarding. I don't think water motor vehicles are allowed. They have restrooms and showers, a huge deck with tables. Walking paths and mountain bike trails. Fun Fun Fun!!
Logan Dingus
The walking trails here are really pretty. The trails are dog friendly too.
Marianne Myrick
Some ice on the trails, but if you have snow shoes you are good. The ice is thick enough to walk on, and there are kick sleds to rent.
Michelle Dobbratz
Lots of trail options- it's easy to hike anywhere from 2 to 10 or more miles, and you can decide as you go if you want to add on length to your hike or go back. The trails are well maintained, even, and without a lot of elevation change. This park has among the best trail markings of any park I've ever been to, similar to Afton, where every intersection is marked, contains a map with a "you are here" designator, and has signposts indicating which way to go to each intersection. It's very hard to get lost here. There's plenty of parking and clean bathrooms with running water (still open during the pandemic and they were open last winter) at all three trailheads. The boardwalk trails around Jensen Lake are one way (counter clockwise) due to covid. In the winter, bring ice trekkers, because the trails are well worn very soon after any snowfall. It's a popular place- be prepared to run into other hikers and trail runners regardless of when you come. Dogs are allowed on a leash.
Pat Hanzal
First time at Burger Dive and was excited to try it. Fries were fabulous. Burger was so so. I added bacon and had to remove half of it as only half of each slice was fully cooked and the cheese was barely melted. Husband had the Reuben. I did not try it but he did try my Burger. He said the Burger was much better than the Reuben. We will probably give it another try sometime....but will not rush back.

This is a great park system near the MN Zoo - and one I highly recommend people take advantage of. There is probably something for everyone who enjoys being outside. From trails for running, biking and hiking, to beaches, paddle-sports rentals, and more. There are Public areas with grills, picnic benches and lots of grassy areas for setting up a nice picnic. All in all l, do yourself a favor and get outside. It'll do you a lot of good - that's just science!
A word about our shared, public spaces: please be sure to pick up the area around you. Whether you left the need it not, we all have a responsibility to keep these spaces as clean and pristine as possible. If you have kids teach them to always leave things just a little better than they found them. Just a little effort from a lot of hands can make things a whole lot better!
Trea Wahlstrom
Always a fun adventure at knee high naturalist, thank you Laura!
Tucker Lundquist
Love this park so much. Great place to jog, hike, bring your family or dog. The county has done an incredible job at getting rid of the buckthorn at this park. I'm sure it has taken years or decades of work to make this park as beautiful as it has become. So many Minnesota native plants live here. There is still much work a head but they have completely changed most of the park to what it looked like a few hundred years ago.
Teen Bean
Great dog friendly campground woth clean bathrooms and a very friendly staff. Leia had a great time walking around and meeting all the other friendly dogs. They enforce quite hours, speed limits and parking passes which I think is pretty awesome. I also enjoyed how they offer free delivery when you buy firewood. The hiking trails are wonderful and have a good amount of shade and sun.
Freya Junot
Rented kayaks here today. The staff are helpful and informative. The lake wasn't overcrowded. We did an hour package since my sister hadn't gone before. Unfortunately the season is ending soon. I would have utilized this place for the next 2 months.
Tami Budge
I absolutely LOVE walking my dog there. Weekdays are incredibly peaceful and quiet. I do wish on weekends, people would adhere to the One Way postings. Seems to be a free for all on weekends
Mike Mcmanus
Miles of walking trails, great swimming beach. Lots of nature close to the city.
Landon Burlingham
Lebanon hills is one of my favorite places to go. Whether it be for mountain biking, hiking or just down right enjoying the outdoors. The mountain bike tracks are professionally maintained and are always groomed to perfection and marked very well. It’s not hard to find the trail and where you need to go.
Rac
Trails here are amazing. It's a wonderful choose your own adventure. Not too busy to really feel alone in the woods. Scenery is fantastic, easy to find, lots of parking, and it's right in the middle of a city though you can't tell once you're on the trails.
Bryon Peterson
One of my favorite parks in the metro area. Easy to forget your in the city. Amazing matrix of week groomed trails. Hard to take the same path twice. Many other activities available. We use it to practice and train for the Superior Hiking Trail and Boundary Waters trips we take.
Delores K
One of the nicest park to visit, a clean lake for swimming, planty of walking trails, clean facilities, and great directions on the trail. Planty of flowers, plants and great for winter hicking too. Check it out in Eagan Mn.
dana Crinigan
This place is perfect! Nice hiking trails, swimming beach, kyaks, canoes, paddle boards, fishing boats and gear all available for rent. They have a nice shaded picnic area with grills and always clean stocked bathrooms. Couldn't get any better
mike crawford
Had a great time with their Black Friday #Optoutside event searching for gnomes with our kids. Great turn out and great staff.
Travis Pagliara
Great trailhead with super easy access to all levels of trails. Even if someone who had mountain bike in over 8 years I got out and had a blast on it easy and intermediate level trails. I would save the extreme level trails until I've been doing this a lot longer though. we really are lucky in Minnesota to have access to such great parks this close to an urban environment.
Alex Nee
Great trails, all types and conditions. Beautiful park! Whether you are hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, horseback riding or kayaking, there is something here for everyone in the family. Don't forget to bring some swag for the great geocaches!
Romerro Walker Sr.
Nice park, as always, clean, quiet, and friendly people.
Tammy woldt
Great place for a hike and picnic.
Andrew Awaijane
Awesome practice trails and skill building for the Armstrong Cycling Club!
Daniel D
Paved trails that meet up with unpaved trails. Saw 2 restrooms at the visitor center, however were full. Good signage, and easy to follow. Spent two hours hiking here, and it felt like we only scratched the surface of all the park had to offer. Bring plenty of water.
Sheila Scheele
Lebanon Hills is clean, has a nice beach, walking paths, canoes to rent, indoor play area for young children and covered picnic deck area which can be reserved. Parking was rough! I arrived about 1 and there was no where to park. Signs are posted for no parking along the road side. As I was leaving, there was a park official helping people park because it was so busy and the lots were full.
John Ostrem
This is a fantastic park. Trails are extremely well marked and maintained. You can hike for hours if you like. Beautiful. A real jewel in the area. Loved it
Debra McGuire
Wonderful walking trails. Have a lot of activities for kids and adults.
Beautiful place you feel like you're in the woods on a vacation away from everything. ☺️
Jonathan Arjes
Gorgeous place to relax or take photographs. Nice trails and a waterfront area. Not too crowded usually. Lots of parking! Nature reserve area has lots of different parts and looks. Very large area. Recommend starting at the visitor center and winding through all the beautiful wilderness!
Connie Buchholz
Love this park- Great picnic area and friendly beach for the kids to play on. Lots of room to play
Nabil Mouannes
Absolutely beautiful. Spent the day walking, biking and a little bit of hammocking! the weather was gorgeous! Though the rain from the earlier days made the trails a bit muddy, it was easy to get around the mud during our walks and enjoy the beauty of nature.
Anna Hildenbrand
This place is the perfect family destination. Helpful & knowledgeable staff, tons of important as and interesting information and a beautiful location all make this a great spot to spend a weekend day with your kids.
katie bazinet
Love this park. I grew up across the street and am so happy this beautiful place has been preserved.
Anthony Herbert
A great, large, regional park. With lots of trails and areas to explore. A nice beach area for swimming and paddle boarding. The one down side is there is no longer a lifeguard on duty, but this has become common in the area (with budget cuts).
Thatcher Buck
I absolutely love Lebanon Hills. It is a wonderful place to hike around. They have a playground for kids and a few outdoor gazebos or event centers. I would totally recommend going to anyone who just want to connect with nature. I think that you can also go kayaking if you bring one.
Jack Bordner
Lots of well marked trails with maps all over. Great place to take a walk, hike or ski.
Jessica Fields
This place is great. Miles and miles of free hiking. Parking lots have been fuller than usual this summer, but when you get into the trails it's easy to keep away from others.
Trevor Burns
Well maintained trails, not very challenging but great for a nice hike so close to the MSP downtowns.
Well cared for bathrooms and a nice looking beach that we didn't go in but sounded like the kids were having a blast.
Lots of dogs and different places to start from on the trails. We will be back to check out another part of the park. Great place!!
Sarah Barbouche
Beautiful trails fun for day and friends
Wanderlust1
Just went to visit someone for the day staying in the motor home camping area. Very clean & Quite. Excellent place for a weekend getaway close to the city. Will definitely be back to check out the hiking trails.
Jeff Coleman
Great mountain bike park, this park has a practice obstacle course, several choices for your skill level plus a good hilly hiking trail. Very clean facilities and a huge fire pit.I saw 4 year olds to 70 year olds on mountain bikes.
Casey Johnson
Love this place, trails are beautiful. Wonderful little nature center as well if you want to learn about some of the local wildlife. Kayak renting here is always easy and friendly.
Nathan Franke
We stayed at the campground. The bathroom was clean with a free shower. Campsites were spacious and spaced apart from each other. Picnic tables were sturdy. Ground was generally free of rocks, making it easy to put in tent stakes.
The campsite hosts were really nice.
Alex Olsen
Great park, the facilities at Holland lake are great, new dock, and pavilion, bathrooms we're clean and spacious, really liking the new deck. Pathways were fun to walk lots or nature to take in. The entry to the lake is well thought out for kyaks or canoes. Great job Dakota county on making a place for everyone to enjoy. A++
Daniel T.
Dakota County has an outstanding system of regional parks and other perks too. At parks that have lakes, often you can rent canoes and kayaks. They have great facilities such as bathrooms and changing rooms. Also, they have great picnic areas and hiking trails. I love living in Dakota County!
Melissa Broich
It is so nice to find beautiful parks in larger cities. Lebanon Hills has so many options for trails and picnic areas. The playground at the Jensen Lake area is large with lots of options for all ages.
Drew Knox
For tent campers this is a stellar park with a separate loop away from RVs. The campsites have ample space to enjoy the peaceful and serene forest setting without staring at your neighbors. Add a clean and well-maintained shower house and considerate ranger hosts and you have a premier campground.
Benjamin Vogel
I've hiked every trail here... multiple times... I just can't get enough of this place. My daughter loves looking for owls here!
Scott Johnson
A nice park with a great visitors center, nice trails and a beach. There are multiple entrances. With trails and fishing at all. The beach has a place to change and shower. It has programs for all seasons. They rent canoes, paddle board and kayak. You can portage to other lakes. Nice park.
Jack Dreas
Great views and excellent walking paths.
Trevor Williams
The hiking trails are well-maintained and well-marked. In addition to a parking lot on the east side, there's generous street parking at the west trail head (Galaxie). The park website provides trail map PDFs that can be loaded into the Avenza GPS tracking app, and each intersection has a signpost that tells you where you're headed. I enjoy going here.
Hugh Betcha
Hands down the best place to hike anywhere in the Twin Cities area. This park is huge and newcomers can get lost. But not to worry they have plenty of maps available (one at each major intersection of trails) complete with a "You are here" dot, so you'll be fine. Just recently they've started doing a lot of clearing out of some buckthorn brush on the western side of that park, which will take years to fill-in again with native vegetation. So, for the time being I recommend the eastern half of the park for hiking as it's far more scenic. This park allows you to feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, even though you're just minutes from the zoo, airport or major roads/highways.
Molly Gingerich (mofog412)
Hidden gem! I started kayaking at Schulze Lake and portaged to Portage and OBrien lakes! It was amazing and peaceful! Shulze Lake was busy but there wasn't anyone on the other two! Can't wait to go back and do the entire canoe trail!
Patrick
Well maintained trails and campsites, and a convenient location
Allen P
Many great trails. 2 charging spots for EV's. Swimming and picnic area.
Nicole Geffre
I love Lebanon Hills regional park and have yet even been able to enjoy all it has to offer. I find the walking trails beautiful and the visitors center and picnic shelter by Shulz beach are also lovely. I know they also offer much more - canoe rentals, winter activities, and host various events - that I have yet to partake in.
Very family friendly. I encourage people to check it out!
Jacob Richter
Lebanon hills is a beautiful place to go hiking. There's only one issue I have with the park. There are ppl's homes sprinkled thoughout and one abandoned destroyed building. Other than that the trails are picturesque and the lake is beautiful. If you need a place to take graduation or engagement photos in a nature setting, the location is very convenient and beautiful.
Phillip G
I always enjoy this local beach. The swimming area and beach are clean. There is a building with bathrooms and changing area. Watercraft rentals are available and reasonable. There is also a very nice picnic area.
A big plus is also a 6kw ev charging.
Nathan Lenzen
Amazing trails! Well maintained and easily understandable map. Mtn Bike teams like to practice here, so during the day might be a good time to come. Overall a great park!
Priyanka Rajath
Love this place. Very rugged and rustic
Nick Sawka
We were very happy to find and use the Lebanon Hills parks. At first we only knew about the Cliff Rd. Location and thought it was only for biking. Then we learned of Holland Lake and began hiking the trails four days a week. This was great until winter. Then we noticed signs telling us we could not hike on ski trails...well, you literally force us to hike on the ski trails because you do not provide a single full circuit hiking trail. It is simply not enjoyable to hike in and then hike back out on the same trail...it is better to do a circuit...more like one is accomplishing something. It would be nice if you could revisit your plan and provide at least one full circuit trail for hikers. And really, there are many more hikers than skiers...I don't believe we saw more than 10-15 skiers the whole winter. We could enjoy the parks much more if you could change the trail plan just a little.
Jon Wieck
Awesome place to get away from the city but not leave the city. Huge wooded walking paths that are great to walk your dog & swimming lake. Just park your semi trucks tractor between the lines or they will give you a warning ticket or citation.
Jimmy McMurray
Great outdoor hiking. Lots of small lakes with tons of wildlife. I've seen eagles, cranes, deer. Great canoeing and kayaking rentals and nice large sandy beach on Schultze Lake. Well groomed cross country ski trails. Great nature spot.
Diane Wakefield
Love this place. Always something new and different to do and explore. It’s HUGE. Can’t believe I’m lucky enough to live so close. Check it out. Trails, paved walkways, lakes, beach. SUP, kayaks. Cross country ski in winter. Year round awesome!
Anna Tyree
Beautiful. Amazing experience. Thank you.
Chris Tripolino
I’ve really enjoyed this park in the winter for CC skiing, but had a really nice hike today while my daughter was mountain biking and the course/ trails for mountain bikes seemed really great
Tf Mtb
Great HUGE park. If one parking lot is full check out the other trail heads. 1. Main building on Cliff Rd. 2. Small trailhead west on Cliff Rd. 3. Mountain bike trail head but also many hiking trails. 4. Campground has a publuc lot and access to trails. Across the street from mountain bikes. 5. Horse trailhead. on south side. Never seen horses here in 40 years.
Billy
Love coming here for a hike! You feel like you are up north on these trails 😊 the staff is extremely friendly and will help you out on picking a trail if you want a hike that is something short and sweet, or a little longer! I recommend Voyager trail! …
Christina Blount
I spend a lot of time in this park, visiting several times a week in some capacity. It's awesome for day hikes, dog walking, birding, horseback riding, cross country skiing...just about anything. The best playground is at Jenson Lake Park, the best hiking is behind Schulze Lake, across from the Swimming Beach.
Christoffer Hanson
This place is a gem. Hiking, foraging, fishing, kayaking, skiing. Everything. It is at its best at lebanon hills. One of the wonders of the Twin Cities. I am conflicted posting this because I don't want it to become overrun. But who am I kidding.. no one has EVER taken my advice and lived not to regret it.
David Arnold
Pretty good park. There are a lot of trails to accommodate different trail users. The good news is that you can accommodate a lot of different uses, the bad news is that there are trails criss crossing everywhere, which makes the trail density less than ideal in my opinion. But the landscape is beautiful and definitely worth a visit. If something more isolated is your thing, check out nearby Murphy Hanrehan.
Fares Alahdab, MD, MSc
This was an awesome park. Beautiful lake and nice sand beach to it. Trail is very nice too and great for hiking, running, or biking. The park has nice spots great for camping and picnic outdoors. Overall, one of the nicest parks in MN!
Glenna Varnes
Great urban park. Some campsites have full hookups. Miles of trails spread over very large park. Less than 10 miles to Mall of America. Many parks and lakes close by. Easy to go into Minneapolis and St Paul.
Calvin Stepan
Great views and long hikes for any skill level. Trails do get muddy and slick after hard rainfalls but with adequate footwear that issue goes away
Donna Limback
Beautiful yet some construction work was going on the day we went so noisy. Has a little, paved trail easy for toddlers to walk. Later will be back for great swimming!
Anna Burnham
Lebanon Hills is a great place to get outside and enjoy nature in the suburbs. I love taking photos and doing photography shoots at this location as well. My brothers and I used to bike some of the trails when we were younger and always had a great time. The beach (Schultz Lake) is usually ok, though I'm not a fan of many beaches in MN. But the rest of Lebanon hills is great!
Melissa Bremer
Beautiful and serene, i love how untouched this place is. There are nice picnic tables, but the nature is breathtaking during all the seasons! Very rarely do I see litter or debris. A nice place to come alone or with a partner!
Michael Jensen
Jensen Lake to be specific. Love this path. It has a little of everything. Rocks, roots, downed trees, wood bridges, etc all with a great view of the lake. Lots of lily pads. Overall, very peaceful and not too far from the cities.
Bill Bergquist
X-C ski trails are in excellent condition 2/10/19.
Steve Mesmer
Amazing jewel of a park! Run, walk, ride, crawl, sit, gaze, fish, smell - whatever, its beautiful. Multiple microenvironments with meandering trails and stunning vistas. Just a "County" park? Ranks up there w some of the best city and state parks.
Kelsey Chavalas
One of my favorite places for long walks close to the cities.
Lots of options for paths which are well maintained. Paths are both paved or gravel. Great place for kids and picnics as well.
Keith V
Full facility camping to rustic. Long walking trails. They deliver firewood to your site so you don't have to carry it. Clean restrooms and showers. Great weekend stay.
ranyah DKL
Peaceful, many great hiking trails , a great playground for the kids and it has areas for barbecue.
If your lucky you get to see a deer or two pass by;) and sometimes horses.
Gavin Rowland
The trails are beautiful at the park. I see a lot of kayakers on the lake and lots of hikers. There are places to picnic and even a beach area for swimming. The fall is really beautiful and there is also great cross-country ski trails in the winter.
Kimberly Menard
I have enjoyed the trails in the past, but tried the beach today. Handy parking and restroom, but I was very disappointed in rentals. You cannot reserve or even pay and wait. You must sit indoors or on grass by door and wait for one to come back. You may not fill out paperwork, pay and enjoy the beach 90 seconds away. Those waiting were mad that the previous group was late and no effort was made together them. Finally one of the staff took a megaphone to call. I opted to swim rather than wait the 75 min. Because it seemed like I could be there even longer and I wanted to enjoy the beautiful day. It was still 75 min when I tried again. So, great park, but even on a weekday, bring a friend and a picnic lunch if you want to paddleboard. Staff said it is always like this. I will not come back to rent until the policy is modified.
Jeff Linnes-Bagley
The mountain bike skills park is great for kids to get an introduction. There are restrooms, water, and a pavilion with picnic tables, so it's a great place for a picnic while kids ride. Lots of options for difficulty and length for adults, too.
Katie Skogen
I love this park!! It has plenty of trails to walk/run on, a nice playground, and nice area to have outdoor gatherings. If you're looking for a new place to explore, I highly recommend it!
Amber
Wonderful lake with beach, visitor center, kayak and canoe rentals and ample parking. The lake is small but busy with regular crowds. Umbrellas spotted on the beach and shaded spots to sit. Grills are also available for use. Modern bathrooms.
Brenten McCulloch
Amazing trails are a lot of fun, and it is beautiful there. There are summer and winter hiking trails, horse back riding trails, cross country skiing, snowshoeing trails, canoeing portage and several beautiful lakes and ponds. Weather permitting ski and snowshoe rentals are available.
Alan Stump
Great place to hike, get lost, be overwhelmed by coronavirus regulations and restrictions, see nature, relax, paint, run, visit with family and friends. There is a beach for swimming and a visitors center.
Eleanor Goral
An amazing place to walk around, bring your family/dog. And the lake is absolutely beautiful and the trails are very nice with not to much weeds overgrown onto the path.
Katy Friends
After dropping kids off for zoo camp I decided to explore Apple Valley. I pulled up Google maps and looked for parks and that's when I found Lebanon Hills Regional Park. It's on Jensen Lake and has a pretty good 2 mile trail that goes around. It's not too long or too short. My only complaint is that it's not great for a stroller, but that's more my fault for not being prepared. It would be better to use a snugglie and not go a morning after rain. Regardless I made it around with my 6 month old and I'm very glad that I found the park. Here was also a small playground and several benches along the trail.
Chandra Cockrell
Stayed at the campground for several days in a tent. The area is great. The tent spaces have a fire pit with grill. There is spots for trailers or RVs. The campground is minutes from both Saint Paul and Minneapolis but far enough that it feels like your out of the metro area in the woods.
Troy H
This is a great area! I went here for snowshoe hiking but people also do cross country skiing. This would be a good place for low key summer hiking as well and the trails are well marked.
Lee Gregory
Huge, lots of trails, amenities, an elaborate map system, multiple lakes, stocked fire pits, canoe rentals, and the list goes on and on. Did I say huge? The experience here exceeds most state parks that you have to pay for - but this being a regional park is a FREE experience. Easily one of the top 5 parks in the Twin Cities.
Joe Gabrielsen
Wahoo! Some of the best mtb trails in MN are right here. Nice mix of XC, some exciting rocks and roots, not too terrible climbs (hey, I'm probably older than you).
Chad Bischoff
It's easy to forget you are surrounded by civilization outside the park.
Johann Enquist
I bike here very regularly. Really well laid out to chose trails that match with your skills. Great trail crew. Always have a great team riding here. Keep up the great work!
Michael Gabriel
I have driven past this regional park many times but I never stopped.
My company had a picnic at one of the shelters in August... very nice.
Clean well maintained and bathrooms right on site... and a lake right down the hill.
Beautiful.
Kathryn Lyons
This was a wonderful place. We went to the beach section, it was relatively small - both the lake & the beach area- parking was a bit of a pain, but overall it was a great place!
Holly Hoffmaster
Great place for it hike, really nice beach and the maps are the best I've seen. Really easy to figure out what trail to take and where you'll end up. A have to go.
Bill Harz
Love Lebanon Hills! On many a weekend you can find me here hiking the trails. I've done more than 8 miles at one time without taking the same path twice and there's even more where that came from! They also rent canoes and have a pretty awesome beach. One of the best parks in the suburbs for sure, and I don't have to drive all the way out to Afton to feel like I'm in the woods!
Kris Krager
Super nice spot. Gets busy around 4 on a Sunday so when we got there at noon we had our pick of picnic table and grills. Clean park with lots of amenities and a courteous staff.
Ray MacDonald
For how nice it is, it gets little traffic for snowshoeing and hiking. Most of the people there are for the bike trails. Has a decent amount of elevation change to give the legs a moderate workout.
Darren Konsor
Good hiking trails
Jen Morgan
Went out for a hike, saw a deer and an egret. Didn't run into a ton of other people, which was nice. However the trail signs were hard to follow, even with the trail map in hand. Got the hang of it after a bit, but definitely not as well marked as the state parks I've been in throughout the summer.
Julie T
I really like the trails and the beach but there isn't enough parking. There are signs prohibiting parking along the road but people park there anyway due to such limited spaces. Driving in circles for 20 minutes or more in Hope's of getting a spot is also HORRIBLE.
Bhaskar Raj B M (Bhaskara)
One of my favorite parks in the urban reach. The trails are natural and not paved and this is a major reason I love the park. Diverse birds in the early spring is a joy, it's an experience in itself.
sandy fauver
Fabulous park! Just happened upon it as we needed someplace close to visit family! Will definitely go back! We are full time Rvers from the west coast! Loved it! Nature, birds, turtles👍👍 …
Lyudmilla Grin
The best park in the city! Real Forrest, easy to find and plan your way on trails. Even when it's crowded you can always find a not crowded path
CJ Ceejay
It's a fun Park and my 12 and 16 year old kids always have a blast when we visit the park. There are walking trails to explore and view of the Pond/Lake. Very nice and relaxing.
Kari Gaither
Lovely park with many well mark trails to ski, snowshoe or hike.
Bonfires to enjoy at trailhead.
Snow was very hard packed.
Paul & Barb S.
Great park and our site is awesome. The staff is very helpful. My wife walked to the office to check-in and was limping. The staff noticed it and even gave her a ride back to our trailer.
Natasha Sanchez
Great place to go on a nature walk in summer. In winter you are able to rent cross country skis which are very reasonably priced. There are many different trails.
Anne Ulrich
Just a great hike in a beautiful park! There were a lot of options for easier and harder hikes. Two separated blocks of land were available; I got tired before I visited the second :-(
A L
Miles of great walking paths along with signage that are both well maintained, some paths are paved and wheelchair/stroller accessible.
Unfortunately the beach is currently fenced in and inaccessible.
Rick Sorensen
Nice county Park. This trip we used fishing pier on Holland lake for 7 year olds first fishing. Clear water lots of small pan fish. Great time.
Kaitlin T
So incredibly beautiful. Hundreds of miles of trails including walking, biking, horseback riding, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing. I would recommend this place to people who need a break from the city.
Adam Borgstahl
Always a great trip. My whole family loves this place. Has a turtle inside, educational books and games. Lots of activities inside and a ton more outside. Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Recent visit was for a birthday party on a dark and dreary spring day. Naturalist was great and made every kid excited to be there.
Nate Knute
friendly park workers, campground rules are fair, nice and quiet, it's cheap to camp here. they have decent showers, restrooms, and a laundry room I can't think of a reason not to come here and I plan on coming back sometime.
Maria Luna
Super cute...Great area for family and friends.. I love the little dock where you could fish or just walk around and look at the beautiful sunset
Marco Galvis
Really nice Campground/Park, my only head scratcher was the fire pit locations, I did not like them being on the back of the spot, would prefer on the side where the doors are on the campers, other than that.. loved it!
Benji Tri
Huge park in the south-metro. Miles of hiking, biking, and even horse trails. The entrance off of Johnny Cake Ridge Road (near Cliff Rd) is for mountain biking, the entrance off Cliff Rd. (just west of Robert Trail) has the visitor's center and free beach. Visit the center to learn about the park, nature, or to rent canoes, paddle-boards, or snowshoes. Rent a canoe and portage the several lakes wthin the park, or just putter around Schulze Lake near the center. There are also (at least) two other entrances - Jensen Lake (on Pilot Know and Carriage Hills Dr.) and Holland Lake (off Cliff Rd. and Lexington Ave. S.). Beautiful in the fall, but accessible year-round.
Andrew Sybilrud
Great escape from the city, and only 30 minutes from the center of town. There are alot of trails and over 100 acres to explore. Fall is especially beautiful!
Jill Schiller
Great trails and nice place to bring kids. Beautiful spot.
Lisa Breitbarth
Beautiful walking trails
Jewels! Hodne
We come here often to enjoy an afternoon of getting away from it all. When hiking there are several types of forests to watch for, if you stop in the main building, speak to the park attendant and receive help to identify the forests. You will also discover meadows where wild prairie flowers grow, and the monarch butterfly has already found. Along the trails you will find maps of where you are and points of interest to read up on, such as a little rock wall, who built it, and the significance of it. There is an old A-frame building that is found in the trails further back. Lots of things to do, and places to discover in this wilderness setting. Swim, picnic, hike, canoe, kayak, horse trails, cross-country ski trails, and ice skate, come again for the annual New Year's celebration at Lebanon Hills Regional Park because this park is truly a place of outdoor wonder set inside the City of Eagan.
Tim Wegner
Love this park. Went hiking at night with my wife. Soooo different at night. Make sure you bring your headlamp. See the animals eyes shine back at you!!
Cameryn Hubbard
I grew up going to the parks connect with Lebanon. There’s so much to offer from a family friendly beach, to paved walking paths and portaging kayaks/canoes. Seriously one of the best in the area
Riley Lamers
Beautiful, well maintained walking trails. Really wish they'd stop paving everything though, it takes away from the outdoor experience, spreads invasive species and disrupts the ecosystem. The community loves it just the way it is.
Geo Kor
Great Trails, nice park .
kids were swimming,
good to see that again.
people are enjoying themselves .
It was a little humid today,
but it was a nice park. 😊🤔😇
Cyndi Willis
Great place to bring you dog for a hike. Beautiful area.
Elizabeth Williams
Amazing place to hike year round. So beautiful and peaceful (once you are out of earshot from the beach in summer). Lots of ponds and wildlife. Well worth the drive.
Jerrod Hammerback
Great place to hike, take pictures and connect with nature. Tons for trails to walk.
Lydia
They are doing controlled burning right now. Other than that, the park is absolutely stunning as always. Perfect for walking, trail running, rucking, and horse back riding.
Jarett Mosoti
Nice beach, paddle boarding, canoes. Great outdoor day!
A lot to do there in winter, as well.
Go early on weekends, no reservations for equipment, but staff are great at making things work for you .
m vh
Something for everyone, whether you're just starting out or very experienced, anyone will have a good time. New features seem to be added on a monthly basis by the trail crew and it is incredibly well maintained.
Jotin Musoke
Nice park! Has a nice trail. The beach was small but looks like people were having fun.
Kent D. Lee
Great place to mountain bike. But you may want to avoid busy times by going in the morning or early afternoon on weekdays. Weekends are very busy.
Tammy Rozenberg
Wonderful lake! A bigger swim area would have been nice, along with a larger sand beach. The trails were nice. Great bathrooms.
fiesty10 Sully
Good info..great kids exhibit and hands on for a nice rest stop..clean bathrooms and bonfire pit and wood for PM fire after paddle or hike. NICE.NICE.NICE
Molly Akullian
Absolutely gorgeous park, with something for everyone to do year round. The trails are well maintained, even in winter.
Amanda Lontine
There is so much to do here! They have kayak and paddleboard rentals in the summer and snow rentals in the winter. There are a lot of hiking/biking trails. It is absolutely beautiful!
Ryan Marshall
The kids were excited by the beautiful views and abundance of activities available at the park. We live over an hour away, but this will be a family favorite for years to come!
Daniel Solo
This park is incredibly well maintained. The Visitor Center is organized and for the most part, the guests clean up after themselves. Great culture.
Polina Manders
Its awesome for all humans and dogs. Trails are well defined and there are maps all over the park. One of my fave places to go year around
Dan H
Love the nature and trails. They need to strictly enforce leash laws. I'm tired of my dog and I being confronted by off-leash dogs on the trail. Unfortunately, it'll probably take an incident and lawsuit before Lebanon decides they care.
Vic Thiedek
Loved the "Extremely Difficult" and "Very Difficult" trails. Lots of technical features. The parking lot was over 1/2 full and I felt like I was all alone on the trails..
Neal Meier
I've been moutain biking here since I was 16 (about 26 years ago!) Love the trails! Now I can take my family and explore all the possibilities. Such fun!
Samuel SA WALTERS
Quiet lake with clean beach with lots of paved biking and walking trails. Also has wooded hiking trails, fishing, ice fishing and boat launch. Extensive renovation and re-landscaped this year.
Terri & Billy
Beautiful park. We had a picnic lunch on a nice fall day. First time there, can't wait to go again when the trees have leaves.
David Bradee
Lots of well kept and well documented hiking trails. I understand the extra trail signage was added recently, it helps a lot. This is a very beautiful park and lake.
Jeremy Swinborne
Love this park. Great hiking and paved trails, along with picnic areas. It is a shame the beach is closed and kayak rentals are closed as well due to COVID19
Curtis Hunt
Huge expanse of trails! And a swimming beach with canoe and paddle board rentals. And cross country ski rentals in the winter. It is a wonderful escape to the outdoors in any season!
Julia Lau
Great hiking trails, awesome for hammocking! There's also a place to swim. I spent the whole day there and didn't get to every trail
Mohamad Khouli
Great hiking trails. Wonderful views in spring, summer, and Fall. Multiple trails around different lakes.
Kajsa Anderson
Great trails for winter and summer. I've skied and snowshoed, and my out of town friends said the campground worked very well for their 5th wheel RV.
Melissa Clifford
I love this place! The map system is well organized and the scenery is beautiful all year round. My favorite place to hike.
Kevin Kurtz
The trails are in great shape for a good trail run.
Haily Manteufel
Many different entrances and areas to explore. Plenty of paved trails and wooden boardwalk through wetlands. Hiking trails of all difficulty! Horseback riding trails. Portage cites to practice for BWCA. paddle boat rentals, beach!
Dan Tsarfati
We had our daughter's 7th birthday party here staff was great. They took us out to build a fort in the woods and the kids had a blast. Would highly recommend
J Waterous
Lebanon Hills Regional Park has splendid picnic areas, a sand beach on a ten? acre lake, calming scenery, and lots more to like!
Raymond Hill
Nice place to hike, snowshoe or cross country ski. Many trails around the numerous lakes here. A nice visitors center to warm up in and get coffee, hot chocolate, etc.
Andy Jopling
Beautiful park! Great use of land. Trails wind around you barely know there's bike paths running near by.
Tiffany Rupp
A great place for all ages. They have an activity center that is great for toddlers up to school age children. And for the older kids they have good educational activities. Even adults will find educational tidbits. The bathrooms are nicely kept and the larger stall has a changing table. It's a great place to come and relax with a book.
Kelley Quigley
This is an AMAZING park and campground. Very friendly and helpful staff. We camped in the East Loop which has beautiful secluded sites, but still very close to the nice, clean bathrooms and a great park for the kids. The West Loop is more of the RV loops, and the North Loop is non-electric and secluded similar to the East. The campground itself is beautiful and has free wifi in the West Loop. The Lebanon Hills Visitor's Center is a 5 minute drive with an awesome beach, boat rentals (canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards), tons of hiking trails with great maps and guides along with a great place to just hang out and educational materials for the adults and kids to learn from. The campground is also awesome for families who want to get out and explore the area - it is a 2-3 min drive to the Minnesota Zoo, 15 mins from Mall of America, and very close to Target, Cub Foods, and multiple fast food and sit-down restaurants. We camped Monday through Saturday. Tuesday we hit the zoo and Visitor Center, Wednesday the beach and shopping, Thursday Nickelodeon Universe at MOA, and Friday we rented canoes, paddle boards, and then went hiking. It is one of our favorite campgrounds/parks, definitely recommended.
Berniece Mohn
Great place for sledding for children but we as grt. Grandparents couldn't climb the snow bank to get up to the hill. Wish they had steps.
Brianna Wolfe
A lot of fun! Good place to take kids, roped in swimming area but you don't have to stay in the roped in area. Also canoe paddle board and kayak rentals.
Bashir A_
Great trail system and easy navigation.

Miriam's Emporium Q&A
This park is absolutely stunning. Makes you feel miles from the cities and away from it all. Awesome hiking trails and beautiful lakes.
Lindsay Woolward
Lebanon Hills is lovely, with miles of trails that feel almost as secluded as many of Minnesota's excellent state parks, and is very accessible to the twin cities.
Dan Inman
One of the best county parks we have been to. Helpful staff. Grounds are very well maintained. Restrooms and showers are clean. WiFi intermittent.
Jesse Noboru Grothe
Beautiful park. The trails are in great shape and are very well maintained through the season. Several varied distanced trails.

Clean. Free entry. Inexpensive boat rentals. Big umbrellas and toys already there. This is one of our family’s favorite weekend hangouts.

Tracy Seelhammer
Lebanon Hills is the Jewel of the Southern Twin Cities mountain bike trail system. Offering something from beginners to experts this place gets busy on the weekends and any other time the weather is nice. Get out and enjoy it when you can!
abraham henry
Best mountain bike trails in the twin cities area. Some easy trails, medium and difficult. Nice long runs
Ricki Groskreutz
We always enjoy this park with something for everyone. Fishing dock, walking trails, swimming beach, great visitors center for adults to chill and kids to play. 💜 …

Ryan Panning
Plenty of space to explore. Good hiking trails and great mountain biking trails. Just wish there was a nice paved trail like Elm Creek Park. Miss that from living on the north side...

KBS
Very cool place to hike in the Summer snd Snowshoe in the Winter. Very clean trails.
Ben Hines
Went sledding there. Hill is great for small/young children. Only 1 Hill & mellow, but nice!
Jerry
This place was way too dope. The spot was lit. We were canoeing. They put four of us in a little one at first . We almost flipped and the two workers were just watching us instead of pulling us back in . Messed up my Jordan’s. We then jumped on the second one and things were better from there.
Michael Henry
Great hiking trails. Can easily spend a day on all the trails. Will be super awesome in the winter too.
M C
Beautiful park with may trails to see wild flowers and enjoy nature. Have restroom in the customer service building.

David McGrath
Maybe the best mountain bike trail in the area. Nice facility, nice little skills area. Great mix of trails. Can get crowded.
Brett Althoff
Best cross country mountain bike trail in Minnesota in my opinion. Has trails ranging from easy to very challenging. Has a trail head with toilets, water fountains, shelter and a bike maintenance station.
Abbi Joy
I enjoyed it due to the amazing view of the sunset and how the water has been partially sectioned off from shallow to moderate and moderate to deep. Although there was a lot of trash around I.E. dirty diaper, wrappers, boxes along with others.
Jayne Stenstad
Lebanon Hills Regional Park in Eagan Minnesota is a great family place. They have several programs throughout the year from swimming canoeing fishing snowshoeing and the best place to walk in a wooded area. You can rent equipment for a nominal fee. I took my youngest son fishing there when he was Young and took the whole family to their regular bonfires with s'mores. Great place to meet family and friends for picnics. I like it cuz you could take your dog to the park with you.
Traveling Experience
14 plus miles of hiking trails, lots of trees around the lakes...beautiful view and very peaceful! Best place to go!
Jean Senko
Every where you go in this park you will see somthing new. From fairy trees, to painted rocks. Add to them or just enjoy them. Plan on a minimum of an hour when going. Well marked trails for ease in finding where you are or where you are going
Becky Belt
Best campground ever! Large lots! Super clean! Trails all around. Lived listening to the tree frogs. ( Remembering home). Will stay again!!!!
Amber Juliet
A hike with the fall colors was exactly what I needed for a getaway for the day from the Twin Cities Metro. Set up makes it idiot-proof to do a choose your own adventure, with a map and number system for your trail blazing pleasure.
Dan H
Great park with all the trails you could ask for. Great for miles or hiking or mountain biking. Really beautiful scenery.
Joseph Kowalke
I recently spent an entire week at the campground and although it doesn't have a swimming pool, I was amazed at how well maintained the whole campground was. I will definitely be visiting again in the future.
Laura Birdsong
Beautiful views and nice trails for being so close to MSP! A nice escape. Wear hiking boots and bring a snack as there are a lot of trails and it's fun to get lost.
Luke D
Lebanon is a fun, well managed park. Bring the dog here multiple times a month. Guests have access to miles of trails. We need to protect this gem.
