Reviews of Wisconsin State Fair RV Park - Open Year Round!

There are so many issues that make staying here less than ideal, one being that if you reserve online you can’t amend your reservation. You are locked in! And it is a parking lot, not even trying to be anything else.
Once you get settled it is safe and has easy access to the bike path and many good restaurants. Clean bathrooms and showers. Staff has been kind.
Do not get a spot close to the highway. It is so loud. That being said, you won’t know what you are reserving since they refuse to put site numbers online.
I would stay here again, but dang the learning curve is steep.
Sarah Hartman
Really nice RV park at the Wisconsin state fairgrounds. The hookups were easy to use and the wash house was clean at all times. The check in info was ready upon arrival.
Cathryn Stanek-Whisler
STAFF, BATHROOMS, SHOWERS = 100 STARS!!!! Great if you're only sleeping there. Basically parking lot with hookups in state fairgrounds.Super loud cuz by hwy. We used as base to bike from. Very convenient for that. Again very nice staff.
Chuck Wiggy
This is a busy place but definitely serves it's purpose. Convenient on & off freeway, close to multiple food sources and staff was very friendly. There is a dump station and year round sites, daily, weekly or monthly rates with multiple choices for hookups. Facility has restrooms, laundry, and showers however, I will admit the showers & restrooms have heavy use and could be cleaner. Daily rate I paid for water & electric site was $40. Just keep in mind your are located next to the main interstate in a big city. This is NOT country style camping.
Pegi Davis
Great location that allows exploration of Milwaukee. Close enough to access a variety of tourist locations yet far enough away to relax. Big rig friendly, easy in and out, friendly and helpful staff. Facilities were clean and modern. We accidently booked a trailer site instead of a 5th-wheel site, but it was big enough that we were able to access water, power and sewer without issue. Enjoyed our October visit and even got to attend a local Octoberfest.
Rob
Stayed in the 100's lot with 30amp and water. Basically a fenced in rock parking lot with no grass or other landscaping. Access was easy. Office was closed for holiday but great communication via email provided clear instructions. All was quiet except for the neighbors German Sheppard which barked non stop when we were outside. All other neighbors quiet and courteous.
Next time, should there be one, we will try for a lot on the south side of the park as those spots appear to be worth the expense and provide groomed landscaping areas.
Cheryl Stock
Very nice shower-bath house facility ( with laundromat), but only had one toilet. How odd...? This seems to be mostly monthly or longer folks here. ( we were just passing through on our Wisconsin travels) It's not a park- setting, of course, but it worked perfectly for our touring about Milwaukee for a day. There is gas station and grocery, dining etc. nearby. There is a bit of Greenspan on site for walking the dog. This is very close to the highway-- convenient but noisy.
Maggie Janiszewski
State fair RV park is basically a big parking lot with full hookup, however it is very convenient for any events in the Milwaukee area. The bathroom's are very clean. Laundry room available, but I can't comment on that as I wasn't in there. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. There are a few trees and grass strips for dog walking. Some of the sites are a little tight so unless you are super skilled at backing up I recommend getting a pull through site. We had plenty of room for our fifth wheel. We payed around $40 per night but it is higher during state fair week and other events
Evelyn Soden
Right next to where the WI State Fair is held, this RV park is in town for convenience which is what we needed. It's basically a big parking lot with lots of campers and RVs. There is full hookups as well as electric and water sites, shower house and a dumping station. Some sites have picnic tables. The sites are all very close to each other, but this is what we expected. We stayed here while on a job in the area, so it was great for us.
Roger wood
When you come have extra sewer hose you will need it.Park is on city bus line, also very good paved bike trail, park well lite, bathrooms clean. Before making reservations check on what maybe going on in fair grounds, quiet hours 11pm to 7am,park police are a bike ride away.
Xo Xo
The Wisconsin State Fair Park and R.V. Park is a really great place to park, and for extended periods of time, if needed. Or for just a quick stop, maybe to simply rest, take a little nap, or get off the busy roads for a ehile. And actually, it is surprisingly pretty dang quiet here at the Wisconsin State R.V. Park, and in the surrounding areas!!
Jay Ostenson
Great place to park, 0r get Some privacy
..

We spent three nights in a FHU site to visit friends & the area. We did not spend much time at the rig, so staying in an asphalt parking lot was okay. It is an economical & convenient place to stay short term. Nice spacing between sites & hookups well maintained. Staff were friendly & helpful. We would stay here again if back in the city.
Rick Simmons
Basically a glorified Walmart parking lot with water and electric. Not a campground, it's a parking lot. Little to no shade from trees. Staff very friendly which was the best part. Made me pay for 2 night stay even though I only stayed one night, even though park was only 25-30% full.
Kyle Conlon
Well since it's the only one within a 1/2 hour of Milwaukee it will suffice :)
Tami Johnson White
Good place to stay to do things in the city. Close to the Hank Aaron Trail. Good amenities. Limited trees or grass.
Dan Hinners
All pavement and a little tight for larger RVs but this is somewhat expected for being in the city. If not paying for RV spot, dump station is $ 10 and is open to the public.
Lisa Boget
It was a nice place but it is just a parking lot. The area we stayed had a significant slope making leveling difficult and the power/water hookup was through the fence in a different lot. Great location for an in-city stay, access to bike path very close and excellent dining options within walking distance.
Jessica Monsivaiz
This place has a lot of room and and the front desk this lady was very nice. They do have 30 amp and 50 amp hook UPS and and no sewage where I stayed at. That is the only downfall. But for a short stay not bad.they are a little pricey for not having sewer hook ups. But really close to downtown.
David Hamm
Some will just say "it is just a parking lot" but it is nice. Close to different places, Miller Park is just 2.2 miles. When back in area we will be here again. Showers laundry rooms extremely clean well maintained. No issues with being here
Beverly Pringle
First of all I feel like I need to point out this isn't your typical campground. That being said , I would give it 4.5 stars if I could . The biggest con I personally had with it was the internet. Some days you could watch Netflix etc ,some days you couldn't. Big downloads for updates was near impossible and took a very long time .
Pros. It was always very clean . Laundry facilities was always spotless , grounds kept clean and dumpsters were never full. I personally didn't use the bathrooms so I can't share my opinion on those. If you're needing a place to stay between houses like we did it was perfect for that. If you're looking for a camping experience this is not your place. We stayed here Oct 1- 31st 2021.
Gina Stiemke
Great location to visit Milwaukee's local highlights; Zoo, Brewer game, Harley museum, etc...
Christine Gallant
Convenient for traveling. Parking lot style sites as you would expect. If you like open high school locker room style showers they were at least clean though completely lacking in privacy. You may want to be completely self contained to stay here. Also there's not much within walking distance. Can't say I would recommend to a solo female traveler.
Kristin Carr
Nice big area! Overall was very accommodating. PROS: •They allow dogs & accommodate that as well, there are areas on location to take your dog potty. There are nearby dumpsters to dispose of waste also. There's plenty of room to walk your dog & if weather permits or u like to explore there's a walking path just outside of park to walk with/w/o your dog. They provide a locked lobby with laundry, showers as well as a men's & women's toilet (where showers are located). There's snack & beverage machines located inside & outside the office building where the laundry, showers & toilet is & a freezer loaded with ice available for purchase. In the laundry room there's 6 washers & dryers reasonably priced & there's also a water fountain equipped with a plastic bottle refill built in & there's also a change machine in the laundry room. CONS: The office seems a little unorganized & the prices are a bit high in regards to the location. It's located in a spot of high traffic making it pretty noisy. It's based in a parking lot scene essentially creating a park & ride theme with not too much of a scenery or view. If you're a social traveler don't anticipate making any new friends here ppl tend to keep to themselves. Although they provide plenty trash bins some dumpsters are a bit too close to where the RVs are parked. The restroom/showers are convenient but they aren't always very clean, I suggest u wear your shower shoes to take a shower.
Dwayne Walton
I like this place. It has electric, water, propane and dump station on site. It also has laundry and showers. It was great for this 1st time RV use. Did i mention it is 2 blocks from a neighborhood Walmat and gas station. Great area if you like to walk.
Dave Stolze
Basically a parking lot with hookups. No competition nearby to create incentives for improvements. State of WI property, more of a urban lodging convenience than a camping experience. Bathrooms are a bit dated and stink. Recent price increase does not reflect a boost in general maintenance.
Daniel Miller
Check in was really easy, and the facilities were quite nice. Showers were quite hot and theres a laundromat in the main building!
Marg Chauvin
For being a city fair campground parked on asphalt in the full sun this was surprisingly nice. The staff is helpful, bathrooms are immaculate with hot showers, the laundry facilities are excellent, and you feel secure. Bonuses are the bicycle/hiking trails and public transportation bus stops adjacent to the campground which made it easy to navigate the city.
Chris Rockett
I'm very pleasantly surprised by this place. It is well-run by friendly and organized staff, the facilities are clean and in good working order and it is generally quiet (except for freeway noise). I haven't heard any screaming children, which is a BIG plus, and most people-noise is drowned out by the freeway anyway. It is not a scenic park, but it is a very convenient and comfortable place to stay in your RV in close proximity to the city. There is a bicycle path just behind the park that leads almost all the way to downtown. Would definitely stay here again.
Ruby J.
This park has been one of my favorite stays in our RV. Surprisingly, though there are a lot of people here, it is almost always quiet and peaceful (I've been here for 3 weeks and have had no issues with noise or neighbors). Even during Summerfest it was pretty calm here. The staff is helpful, bathrooms/showers are kept clean, and it's right next to a bar and the Hank Aaron Bike Trail so you can ride into downtown Milwaukee.
The only thing is that the laundry facilities are a bit pricey--$1.75 to wash and $1.50 to dry. I also wish there were more grassy areas but I do get that it's in a city and there is limited space.
Chuck Zinda
Only needed a dump station, heading out of the city for first boondock of spring. Casey was very helpful, called me back to let me know when station opened. Maintenance staff came over to explain new water setup, as old piping had to be shut off for repair. A great location for us to clean our tanks in the city, as we get our RV out of storage.
Paul Meshak
It was nice to see everyone get out and have a good time.
Wayne McKay
We stayed here for two nights when in Milwaukee for the Harley Davidson museum. Great location for accessing downtown Milwaukee museums, sports venues, etc. It’s more of a large parking lot than a campground, that most people use for 1-2 day stopovers. We had a large FHU site right next to the office and laundry room, which was clean and well-kept. Good wifi signal and cell reception. Close to a highway, but the noise was not an issue for us. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We would return if in the area again.

Food is always great, vendors are awesome, and the rides are fun. 😍😍😍 BUT It's costs a lot of $$$ money to park and rent a wheelchair and pay for each persons admission before we even enter the fair. Each wristband was $40 and still needed tickets to be used!😒 There wasn't really any place to sit and eat off the main mile of food street so my family struggled to move out of the way of people to eat while we walked. I did not enjoy my day at state fair this year as much as the previous years. ☹️Please ADD more shaded seating or at least some form of seating AND fountains throughout the park cause it hurts to push someone on a wheelchair and not have any place to stop for a long while. 😣I'm not the only one who wants this, I've seen other people comment this lack of seating too on YouTube. I usually enjoy spending two days at the fair but this year we decided to only go once. 😐Thanks to whoever reads this and I do plan to return next year for the food and vendors. 😊
Nicole A
Good for an overnight or so. It’s a big parking lot, so definitely not a spot to be planning to hang out. The sewer hookups are a foot in the air so bring plenty of stuff to keep your hose up.
b jg
Good option if you want to be in the city. Put Adler st in the gps to get there properly. Basic hookups. It's a parking lot with power.
Darryl Carter (Ali Baba Wajid)
A very nice place to hang out with your RV
Quinton Hamp
Not a big fan of all concrete. But they seemed to be patrolled frequently by the police and are conveniently located. Good Wifi. The shower rooms are about par. Everything in the park was in good working order, but it's not the kind of place you go to for the views. Purely a convenient place to park and plugin for the night.
Gordy Kaufmann
Great place to set-up camp for Summerfest!!
Eric Heltzel
This is basically an RV parking lot with hookups. But I give it four stars based mostly on location. Most Milwaukee sights are within a 15-minute drive and it’s close to the Miller Brewery and Miller Park. The facilities were in good shape.
*** NOTE that some of the sites have the water and electric hookups on the curbside of the RV. Fortunately, our electric cable was JUST long enough and we carry a 50ft water hose, but some RVers might have a challenge.
Joe Bauer
We drove around a bunch of cones. It was fun.
Kdp2theresq
My family came in from another state and decided to stay here. You can't beat the location. It is close to amenities and tourism spots. If you are looking for something more like camping though, this may not be for you. Facilities were clean and easy to access.
Collin Creates
OK place to stay, not the highest customer service oriented personnel on staff. Bathrooms should be cleaned more often. Laundry units are nice. A bit expensive. Seems like communication between park maintenance and RV park staff is non-existant.
DAN RATKOWSKI
If you want to be in Milwaukee..it's the only game in town. They're certainly not trying to win you over with service or cleanliness. Kids work the office (probably for minimum wage). The lot next to ours is littered with hundreds of cigarette butts. I had to buy an extension cord and two adapters to reach our electric box. Next time we'll set up in West Bend or Waukesha and commute. I expected more from the state of Wisconsin. Not good.
Tiffany V
My least favorite RV park I've stayed. You are on a slab of cement. The "dog run" area is just a small patch of grass. With a bigger dog, this was disappointing. It was right next to a huge drive through light show that was $25 to drive through that we could see for free! It's extremely conveniently located, basically 10 minutes from everything.
Stacy Wilson
Nice laundry, bathrooms were ok. Site is just asphalt. However I do think every large city should do something like this with their large parking areas that are only used a few times out of the year....brilliant idea. Close enough to town to Lyft or uber for a decent price
Julie Martinson
Employees are super nice, security is amazing. Price is a little high, especially for monthly space but for the security and location it's worth it. Just wish there were trees for shade or a better area for walking dogs
karen s
Yes it is a parking lot, but.....it has wide sites. Towables over 40 feet will have to unhook. We found this place convenient & acceptable. Bathrooms/showers & laundry were clean. We were assigned site different than originally reserved but all FHU sites seemed about the same.
Kim T
Great place to settle in with your RV. Whether you go to the fair or not, nice place. Full laundry available onsite. Nice and friendly staff. Great way to do the fair.
Mary Beth Koch
This is our 3rd summer staying at State Fair RV Park so we can visit our friends & family in the area. We have had a nice lot with a great view from our front window of bushes and trees. Our neighbors are from all over & have good stories. This RV Park is convenient to all we want to do & the staff is very helpful.
Ashley Daniels
Nice hot showers and clean, nice laundry room and good prices but the lots were un level and not very spacious for our 44 foot rug but for one night not to bad.
Mark B
Awesome urban rv park. Concrete pads, not for the nature lover, but a GREAT city rv park.
Greta Giles
Excellent price! Late check-in! Awesome bathrooms! Great place! No grass but it's a place to park and stay, which what we needed!
Tamie Bebo
One of the world's greatest fairs that runs for 11 days!! There is so much to do and see I could never list them. My best advice is to go go! You have to go at least twice to see everything. Awesome family affair👨👩👧👦👍. …
Sheila Renschler
It was vwey quiet and patrolled at night so I felt very safe
Drew Burroughs
Added a site map since there’s no good ones online. Great place to stay in MKE. Highly recommend
Cathy Martyn
Basic campground, no atmosphere but that's ok for us, we're here for sightseeing. Signs directing RV's to entrance/registration would be helpful. Bathroom and shower very clean with shared dressing space.
Holli Peck
such a good time at the dinosaur exhibit the kids loved it
tommyb709
basically a large parking lot. eight nice showers and one toilet. dump station drain was locked. next to nice walking trail. not pretty but convenient to downtown milwaukee.
D L
This rv park is pretty much in the center of everything there is to do in the Milw area. The sites are spacious & easily accessible. During the fair days it is extremely noisy (as expected), but during the non fair days, it stayed quiet after 10p.m. Will definitely stay here again when in the area.
Sharon Boehmer
Nothing glamorous, but met expectations. Close to everything downtown and makes it easy to get around. Laundry and restroom were clean and functional. FHU w/50amp at our site was great.
Herlinda Wendt
We don't mind a parking lot/campground. Not happy with the length of the pull through. I specifically said I wanted a pull through so I wouldn't have to disconnect the toad. Had to disconnect. I'm driving a 40' motor home.
Cecilee Shull
It’s a clean parking lot with RV hookups. Worked well for us as we stayed in the area to attend a Brewers game. The stadium was less than 15 minutes from the site. Area can get noisy and busy if there are local events happening.
Dennis Ryan
Functional, convenient, pleasant staff. Not a resort, but a convenient place to stay. Water, sewer, 50 amp electric and WiFi good enough to watch TV shows.
Melinda C.
It's a parking lot. Plain and simple that's what it is. If they put you facing the wrong way you can barely connect your sewer. The sites are not very level. It's a bit pricey but your paying for the location.
Michael Wanta
Enjoying our stay here. Been here several times. Easy on easy off. Clean, friendly... We will be back!
N Nye
Friendly staff, a large laundry room, and grassy areas for the dogs. We would recommend it if you are in the Milwaukee area. There aren't too many options.
MrCoyotebob
Only place to stay in Milwaukee area during winter. It is a safe (ish) place to stay, propane is EXPENSIVE. I would recommend getting propane somewhere else.
Sarah Ruiz
Very good customer service at the stand's enjoy coming back althou everything was alil too expensive but I guess trying to get back since last year we were in lockdown Due to Covic 19 ..
Denise Luskey
Good overnight stop, bathrooms and showers were clean. It is not for extended stay. No restaurants close. No fire pits or grass. Would definitely stop again.
David Beck
Parking lot RV lot. Electric only, and Electric and water sites are short, and back in tight. Ok when not busy. not ok. when have a big rig.
Marty Frain
Urban camping in Milwaukee.
Blacktop parking lot with full hookups.
Just a short 2 mile bike ride on a city trail to Miller Park.
Dereon Knox
Loved the Corn on the Cob 🌽🌽 & The Rides were Perfect 🎠🎡🚀🎪 …
Rachel Hahn
It was fine my only complaint is that the bathrooms were like a sauna because they didn't have a fan or air conditioning
Josh Carlile
Urban camping. Clean and secure laundry and showers. Spaces and decently sized. Staff was unsure of check in times.
Timothy Reed
Close to downtown Milwaukee. Hank Arron Bike trail right next to it. Miller Park, Pottowattami casino and the Harley museum are all nearby too
Patti Dunning
Only campground close to family in Milwaukee area. Has good facilities, only drawback besides being in the middle of the city is very little green space.
Carol E.
Close to downtown Mikwaukee. Clean restrooms and laundry. Full hook-up sites, paved sites (always a plus). Friendly staff.
Wayne Boulanger
A convenient and safe place to store my RV.
The price is reasonable as well.
David Gallegos
Went for the dinosaur exhibit
Steve Kyer
Very clean asphalt R.V Park with all the amenities and centrally located. Whenever we're in the Milwaukee WI area this is where we will stay.......

Alberta Phelps
Rest rooms and showers available, however a jog away. Laundry facilities. No grass- all parking lot.

Most convenient RV place to stay in the city. Prices are 20%-30% higher than they should be, amenities are scarce.
