Reviews of Toad Suck Park
We had a wonderful time here! The people that work the campground were so kind and so were all of the neighbors. It was cool watching the barges and hearing them blow the horns. Campground bathhouse is SUPER clean and very well maintained. Probably the cleanest we’ve ever seen at a campground. Would absolutely recommend staying here. Plus on Friday nights there’s a good truck over by the Convenience Station ( walking distance ) that we heard serves up some amazing fried catfish. Will absolutely come back.
Don’t let the name put you off! This is our first time here, and we were pleasantly surprised. First time at a COE park in a very long time. We arrived on Sunday afternoon, staying through Friday. Great welcome at the gate! Our space is right on the river with a view across to the lock. Fun to watch the barges pass through. Very minor traffic noise from the bridge. Hearing the river noise is like hearing the surf at the beach—very relaxing. The spaces are all fairly long and MOST are level. Clean and well-maintained with no underbrush or weeds. The restrooms/showers are clean, and are restocked frequently, it appears. So many huge, beautiful trees to enjoy. Most sites will be very shady come summer.
Highly recommend!
Great park to stay at! There is some road noise from the bridge, but it isn't bad. The turn in isn't clearly marked. Turn at the gas station immediately after/before (depending on direction), then turn to go under the bridge.
I've been told the rv resort out in toad sucks area aren't as nice as maumelle. I call BULLSH!T this park is so beautiful I want to stay the remainder of my time in Little Rock here! It's so much fun to explore it with my princess lady!
Beautiful park with paved sites and great baths with showers. There wasn't a lot of barge traffic while we were there but it is still a great view. We will return.
Nice, clean campground. Private vault showers and lots of shade. Playgrounds for the kids and pavilions are available for day use. There's also a boat ramp.
I remember riding the Ferry across the River as a child. And the first journey over the bridge.. The Park on the Perry County side of the River, is a perfect location ; especially for RV camping. Clean, hot showers. The Park is well maintained and the gate closed between 10pm and 6am daily. This Campground is on the banks of the Arkansas River, with a perfect view of the Sunrise, casting beauty upon the Toad Suck bridge and the Park! Enjoy the Peace and quiet you will find here.. 🙏♥️✌️
What a beautiful clean park.
Enjoyed our visit here.
This place was amazing the scenic views are breath taking. Not to mention the hospitality and how welcome they made us feel. Everyone is so nice and considerate. It's also inexpensive. We recommend it and give it a high FIVE!!😁👌🏻 …
Stayed there for the first time. Beautiful little campground. The booking online is pitiful but once you get that done you're home free. And note... you CAN NOT check in or book at the gate. Must be done online...I know this from experience. Will definitely stay there again but will book way ahead.
Beautiful clean place to camp. I only gave it 4 stars because there is no waste hookups at at each campsite. We would definitely camp here again.
This place is amazing. Got off of I-40 or detour just to say Ive been and IT IS SO WORTH IT. Wonderful camping spots by the water in the shade. Clean and quiet and the view is BEAUTIFUL. The history behind it is amazing too.
Very nice, clean campground! We were in site C10. Long double-wide site with patio area at the back, right on the river. Highly recommend this place!
Beautiful view, clean bathrooms and campsites. Great place to make new friends!
On cost alone.....grounds are well kept. Spacious sites. Shade trees. Pads could use a good leaf blowing but i cleaned my own in short order. Would recommend.
Love love this Campground, this is our second visit. Definitely would recommend
Nice campground. It's quiet and well taken care of. I reserved D-6 but the first night it rained and washed mud all up under my RV I told the lady up front and she told me that if I didn't like it I could leave. Then they moved me to D-7 which was just as bad so then I asked for D-4 which was good except for the possum falling out of the tree and landing on my RV and breaking its leg.
Just got here beautiful friendly staff, left my glasses at the office and the ranger brought it back at the site . When you come to the stop sign then make a left turn going over the bridge at the bottom of the bridge make a sharp right turn and go under the bridge few yards you will see the entrance on your left little tricky and if you towing a car on the dolly take it down .
Beautiful, clean and inviting!
Only stayed one night. We will without a doubt stay longer when we come through again.
Close to the road(under it) but still very peaceful!
Nice Park on the Arkansas river, 48 campsites, water and elec $16 to $18. Showers, dump station. Quiet and peaceful.
Great showers really nice spots flat ground for tents. Made it easy to camp
We stayed here overnight during a cross country trip in late September. We didn't have a reservation but had no problem finding a nice campsite. Beautiful park and there's a gas station/convenience store nearby. We bought some Toad Suck tee shirts there, lol
Very nice place clean restrooms excellent place. You can't swim but they allow you to bring pool or sprinkler. Very friendly staff.
The first time I came was just to say I did! Couldn't resist! Now on my second visit here to catch up with friends made 1st timed! Still a lovely park, lots of activity this weekend! Car show, classic rock concert, motorcycle promenade, softball, basketball, photo shoots, picknicks! Whew! All having a wonderful time, from my perspective, off in the corner with a great view!
Come for the name come back for the place and people!
It decent open space with very few kids swings..
This is a wonderful COE park. Volunteers at kind, courteous and knowledgeable. Clean, neat and very quite. I will be back to enjoy concrete padded site areas just where you need it. Well maintained.
A great 1 night stopover while traveling. This is a Corps of Engineers (US Gov) campground right on the Arkansas River by their lock on the river. The staffer was really friendly and helpful. The restroom/showers were the cleanest I've ever seen. It's an older facility, but still great at a very reasonable price.
We attended a Quilt of Valor service in the park. It was an awesome experience. The park was beautifully manicured and the presentation was in a covered pavilion. Will surely visit again.
Just a beautiful safe and clean park to visit anytime of year. It is usually quiet and beautiful to visit and enjoy the scenery.
Nice park! We attended a gender reveal there for my husband's daughter & we were pleasantly surprised to see immaculate bathrooms! Wow!! I have never seen such a clean bathroom at a park. Loved it!!!
From Texas!
The river was something after all the rain.
A nice place... very relaxing place and friendly folks. Not certain if Toad Suck Park will recover after the historical flood in June 2019.
Friendly informative host, great shower & bathroom facilities, wonderfully maintained sites. Kudos to the service that maintains the bathrooms, as they are clean and sanitary. The permanent dweller sites furthest from shoreline were the only anomaly. Thanks for the great stay.
Nice camp site on Arkansas River. Close to Conway and nice Toad Suck Convenient store.. And every Friday evening around 4:00 pm to 7 or 8 we have Hart's seafood that cooks the best catfish and butterfly shrimp and chicken strips with sides...Sets up in a nice pull on wheels cart..
We really enjoyed our time at this park and the campground. The camp hosts are super nice people and are very helpful. The campground is very well maintained and the bathrooms are kept very clean.
Many great trails to hike on. The bear caves are great for younger children and the waterfall trail is always nice. My 5 year old daughter loves it when we visit this park.
I love everything about this place! I love how it is next to the water and that they have natural shade above the playgrounds with camper parking as well! Our family loves to stop there and have picnics where there is a nice open space for the kids and adults to play and just have fun together! I grew up going here a lot as a kid and love that I get to experience that now as a mom with my kiddos.
A great place to relax and take in the experience after visiting the nearby DHOF museum. Beautiful, striking views of the museum and although the park probably deserves 5 stars if it was anywhere else, it's impossible to rank anything as high as the DHOF in the immediate area. Nothing else compares to the granduer and presentation of our nation's cultural icons.
I loved it . But my stay ended too soon.
They should have informed me online.
That they were totally booked up due to a charity event coming to town.
A nice park, if you can, make a reservation as this park is in high demand. The RV spots are all back in that I saw but easily accessed. The booth hours appear to be from 1 to 5 and apparently the only time you can call. There is easy access for fishing, there are showers and restrooms. There is a small mini mart within walking distance that has a small deli, snacks, fuel and fishing supplies. It was very quiet considering how busy it is.
Like almost every Corps of Engineers campground I have stayed in, it was clean, organized and there was plenty of space between camp sites.
Day use is free .grate for picnicking fishing and has playgrounds.
Camp site start at $18 best for RVs and boat ramp is $5.
Very nice park. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The bathhouses are unbelievable...super clean!
We've been coming here for years. My family loves this place. Playgrounds are fun and safe and plentiful. Plenty of areas for camping and picnics. Stairs lead down to the river for fishing. Boat ramps are easily accessible. Bathrooms are clean, wheel chair friendly, and include showers. Well maintained and beautiful for a day out.
Great park with picnic spots, campsites, and pavillions. There are two well-maintained kids play areas and swings. A boat landing and walking path along the river. One of my favorite parks in/near Conway to go and let the kids run around.
It's alright. Small, but there's boat access near the restricted facilities.
What a great find while passing through. We will definitely be coming back to camp longer. Grounds are well maintained and polite staff. Level sites for camping.
This place just keeps getting better after the flood , they did a really good job 5stars
Good corp of engineer park. Wish we were staying longer
Nice park for fishing and camping and for little kids with the playgrounds, but there’s not a lot of walking trails
Very nice park. It's quiet and peaceful. Great place to camp or go fishing for the day.
Restrooms were very nice, many of the sites so unlevel for long units we were in 40ft Motorhome, sites by the river were pretty nice if you could find an empty one that was level. The sites in the back away from the river were more level but only have 30 amp service. We can do that if not real cold or hot. Would probably stay there again due to the convenience of being close to family.
Beautiful place, quiet, clean, the bathrooms were always clean, the Rangers were always around. We missed our daughters lovey, a blue puppy, if anyone finds it please let us know.
Will go back, really nice camping place.
Great place close to Conway for camping, grilling out, and looking at the Arkansas River
Its a nice place to go and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city yet it's close enough to Walmart to make that midnight run for ice cream
Beautiful corps of engineer RV park. Paved sites with paved roads and water and electric. Most sites have a great view of the water.
Great little park! Easy to access and right on the Arkansas River by the dam. The park attendant on duty was very nice.
Great little park. Little being the operative word here. Has basic amenities which are nice but nothing else. Water and electric only. No sewer, but they have a dump station. They don't sell firewood so make sure you bring your own.
Quiet area. Friendly locals. No walking or bike paths. A lot of open grassy areas to play, and some (not much) grassy areas along the riverbank near the dam. A few decent looking playgrounds for very small kids. Soccer, basketball, and volleyball areas. I think free camping.
This is a beautiful park, excellent people working here, nonexistent sinage, use Google Maps and it will bring you straight in. It has been a fabulous experience! Turn between the bridge and the gas station or you will miss it!
It was nice, fish biting pretty good.but sitting arrangements not so good. If there to long as numbness all the way. So bring pads or small pillows. Other than that nice ,clean, and bathrooms nearby.
Beautiful big trees, large green spaces, private showers /restrooms. Right on the river, paved sites with 30 and 50 amp. Water on site. Corps. Of Engineer camp ground. Realy nice rangers. Close to town. Walmart 4 miles away. I would stay again.
Quiet overnight stay.Clean...I liked that I could hear the water from our spot.
Nice quiet park on the Arkansas river, close to Conway Arkansas. Its low cost overnight stays are $18-20 a night or $120 a week. "A" loop is the only reservable section but your reservation has to be at least 3 days before arrival. Show up early for check-in since most sites are first come and not all are as level as you might like. They don't have sewer hook-ups at the sites. The electric is 50/30/15 amp and they have a dump station by the check-in gate. Discounts of 50% off for National parks senior pass and disabled members. Rufus the care taker is very friendly and helpful, not to mention quite a story teller.
This is a very pleasant park next to the Arkansas River, with sites for RV and tent camping. Most of the sites need to be reserved, but they have some set aside for 'walk-in's'. The RV sites have electricity and water but no sewage. There is a dump station. Bathroom/showers are clean and not too old, and work fine. Verizon signal is okay. The view of the dam and lock are impressive, as is the river. Nearby (45 minute drive) is Petit Jean State Park, not something you want to miss.
Very accommodating since we did not know it was an army core park and did not have reservations. All other RV parks in the area were full. Gave us a nice site with 30 amp and water.Victor helped guide us to the camp ground as our GPS sent us to Toad Sick State PARK.
Mr. Gary the camp host is super friendly and helpful. We had a short but nice stay. Watching the barges go through the locks on the other side of the river was pretty cool.
We heard about these parks from some friendly Rv campers we met in Missouri. Since we would be heading back through Arkansas we figured why not check it out. I called ahead and was told they had plenty of space. Since it was outside the 3 day reservation window it was first come first served. We had our pick of a dozen plus sites. Having a 30ft 5th wheel eliminates a few sites but we found one. These sites are very spacious and not crowded as other places. The property is well kept and there’s lots of trees. The bathrooms were clean and there was plenty of hot water with great pressure. The site hosts wer friendly and helpful. You can fish for trout near the dam and that water was real warm. If you have a National Park pass you get discounted rates. Seniors for you it’s half off! One of the nicest and also the cheapest places we stayed. Bring your statalite antenna if you want tv. You find find any channels over the air.
It is a nice COE campground but it has some very sloped sites and the bathrooms are few and far between
I have drank here a few times and swam here a few times. The beach is really nice as it is kinda removed from the camping area. The water does smell a lot like fish though and its seen a lot of littering recently
When ever I am passing through Arkansas, Toad Suck State Park is a great place to stop. We have a very large RV but they even have spots big enough for us. Beautiful Park.
This appears to be an older, but quite picturesque, COE Park. There are a little more than a dozen reservable RV sites and they are in a nice shady area with a good view of the Arkansas River. The pads are quite old and not level and the campsites could use some gravel. 30/50 amp service was available as was water, but no sewer. If you have a big rig, maneuvering into some of the sites can be difficult. There is one dump station on the way out but the connection is on the wrong side of the road so you have to make a 180 degree turn to get into it and another 180 turn to get out. Again, difficult for long 5th wheels and the like. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay again. Conway, AR has plenty of restaurants and shopping close by.
Beautiful. Sites have electricity and water and there is a dump station. Play ground. A tackle shop at the entrance for the fisherman which has some groceries and gasoline. Showers are big.
Nice camping experience ... inexpensive. Restroom and showers are some distance from most campsites. Fishing was good below the dam too.
We stayed Monday through Friday and was very pleased, very clean bathrooms. Only improvement would be a vent fan!
We love to camp at Toad Suck Park! The employees are always friendly and helpful. It park is close to town but not too close that you lose the camping feeling.
Toad suck park is an all around outstanding park. It's beautiful here. There are plenty of things to do here. From fishing on the river, or playing with your chest tge park. It's an all around great place to have a good time.
Great fishing in the spring and fall.
Nice stop, fishing, beautiful park n a great view!
Very enjoyable place to camp. Some folks don't like the traffic noise on the bridge, but we don't mind. Spacious campsites, nice reatooms/showers.
It was great very clean and enjoyable.friendly people everywhere .time there was wonderful and recommend it to everyone all ages.
Clean. Inexpensive. No sewer hookups at site, but they have n easily accessible dump station in park. Right on the Arkansas River at the Toad Suck Lock & Dam. Don't turn right into park at convenience store. Go to sign designating the park about 100yds down the road and you will turn left. The road is a little rough, but you will avoid the very tight turns leading into the park. Driving a 40ft MH w/tow was difficult taking the first entrance on right.
Really pretty. Nice place for camping or a picnic. The other side had a walkway out into the lake but I don't know how accessible that is.
Good, quiet, nicer showers than most places. Lacking natural beauty, but it is an interesting view.
New camp host made all the difference in the world! Nice open, well kept and scenic spot to stay. Will be our home base for this area.
Awesome park has got many picnic spots with beautiful environment, however its good to get water and go there coz sometimes the drinking waterfacility doesnt work. I usually go there for fishing n its fun.
What I don't understand about this Park is, why do so many non-campers take showers there. I have no desire to come back because of that reason
Other than that, I have no complaints, but the shower thing will keep me away.
Small shaded park area for children with a walkway dowb to see the river. Quiet and peaceful.
It was great nice park close to town nice staff!!!
I was going there expecting it to be a cool and fun park, but then this 50-60 year old man in a toad costume came over to me and insisted that he would give me top. Needless to say, best day of my life.
The park itself was delightful... Quiet, pretty, well maintained, easy to find, and not too remote. However, there were no pull-thrus. Shower was great.
Location is perfect with beautiful view and clean restrooms but no sewer hook up and it needs maintenance (yard, parking pads, etc.) Could be a premier place with some work.
Just a beautiful gem of Conway, good fishing spots and camping areas are quiet and fun to stay at.
10/10 would suck their toads again
Bathrooms are excellent and so clean. Lots of shade and good fishing
The Faulkner Co side is closed. They use to have care shows and so much more! However the Perry Co. Side is open with great playgrounds!
We stayed over night while traveling. It's a drive from the interstate but worth the price. We are spoiled by the beauty of Tennessee.
very nice park ,staff very helpful . Great fishing quiet and orderly. my first stop off in my full time RV lifestyle.....I give it 9 of 10...
It's a very beautiful Park people in Arkansas need to take more trips back camper and look at the natural state are Park are very beautiful Toad Suck Park is a pretty neat place
Extremely clean bathrooms and park. Water, electric, dump stations. Dry county.
Great campground with several nice amenities. You can rent pavilions for birthday party's or take your kids to the park.
Love it nicely kept park with camp grounds and RV hookups play grounds pavilions for gatherings play grounds. Its a really nice park
Toad Suck Park is CLOSED UNTIL AT LEAST 2020 due to damage caused by june 2019 flooding!
No Camping currently. Call before driving out to avoid the hassle.
Favorite park. Beautiful trees. Great sites with a view of the river. Friendly staff.
Great Arkansas State Park!
River was up today but took the kids fishing didn't catch anything but still had fun.
Wonderful place to fish and camp. The site of a steamboat refueling stop that had a tavern of the same name as the park.
Beautiful water front camp sites, great playgrounds, fishing, close to amenities, and very relaxing.
Pretty fun I guess won't out garfishing and caught some quite this blue catfish over all a decent experience
If you wanna come here it's a whole lot cheaper to make a reservation than to just show up . Just a tip
We stayed for one night on our way to CO. It was a great spot and open for the kids to run. We’d come back!
Love this place. Few improvements needed. Shower/bathroom too hot needs more venting. And water pressure too low.
Great place ,clean spots I enjoyed is over the left side as going in pass the bridge
Great views and spread out campsites.
Nice, quite riverside park. Will have to pack a picnic lunch next time along with some fishing gear.
excited for the r/okbuddyretard meetup here on February 3rd 2:03 PM EST
Clean park but no swimming area.. Wonderful place to relax and let the kids play

Great place. Only $9/ night with Federal Park pass. Most sites are level.

I am trying to get my Dog used to riding in the truck and going somewhere to walk before taking her on vacation, Toad Suck Park is the perfect place to do both.
Love this place! Amazing views. Great campsite hookups. We came in a vanlife camper van and there is literally everything we need— water, electric, campfire and surprisingly great view directly out the window. The restrooms are super clean. There are showers. There’s lots of other campers and amenities, but it’s so quiet and peaceful. There is a place to walk out on the water—not sure what it’s called but is like a little peninsula with a great view of the dam. I was able to walk out at sunset and see a beautiful water view, in total silence. It was not exactly spectacular but it was very quaint and serene. I am very happy about this place. Also there’s a lot of free firewood just laying around. There’s lots of jungle gym parks for kids and there’s plenty of picnic tables and barbecue grills. Highly recommend! It’s a special place. Additionally, it’s self service online. There’s no hassle. Just pick your campsite and go online and viola! Love it here! I love the Arkansas nature and it reminds me of childhood! Also I appreciate that it is well kept and there’s very little trash laying around. It’s a perfect family environment. It’s great for people who love the outdoors.
Beautiful kid friendly park. Clean showers regular trash pickup.
Very family friendly and accommodating. I love bringing my kids out to the playground during nice weather
