Reviews of Springs Preserve
Tiffiny Evans
Beautiful grounds and great place to enjoy nature. Plan on lots of walking, this is a great location to hike.
The butterfly house was beautiful but not very many butterflies compared to other butterfly house I've visited.
The train ride was a good way to hear of the history of the preserve.
Bring lots of water we had a hard time finding a spot to purchase a bottle in here and you will need it.
Aaron O'Hara
This place was so much fun! We had spent the whole week drinking and gambling and fancied a break from the strip and old town so jumped in an uber to the springs preserve. Was really lovely to see some wildlife and have a walk around in some greenery. We also visited the butterfly house and museums, the space themed section was brilliant, loads of interactive stuff. I got the impression this place was primarily for kids, but me and my partner had a blast.
Brenda
Would recommend visiting before 3 PM to be able to see the butterfly habitat. Butterfly habitat closes at 3 PM - truly a wonderful experience to interact with the butterflies. Friendly staff. Lots of parking and lots to see here. Almost no wait time to enter the preserve in the afternoon. Worth visiting if you're in the area. "$9.95 adults, $4.95 children (ages 3-17), free for children ages 2 and under."

I love this. My 10 year old had a blast. So many interactive activities if you happen to visit Vegas. The kids will love it. The price is very affordable and worth it. We came in mid noon so the animals were hiding due to the heat. I recommend to come early as soon as it opens. Bring your bottle water they have plenty of water stations for refills. There was a live glow in the dark scorpions, interactive simulations helicopter ride, the Vegas Old Town replicas, free train ride and the costs to get in were amazing and our family learned a lot about science and history. Best of all its cooler in the inside. During summer it can get really hot in Vegas.

One of my favorite places to spend the day with my kids! It's easy to spend the entire day here, there's so much to see and do. We loved seeing the butterflies, that's such a great little exhibit! It's beyond worth getting a membership here, the Springs Preserve is a local gem for sure.

This place always has nice displays and is so much bigger than you would expect. There's only one place to eat here. However, the gift shop is a nice size and has snacks you can purchase. Just an FYI, the gift shop does not accept cash. I highly recommend.
Isaki Voelker
Amazing place for all ages. Toddler and kid friendly with lots of hands-on things to do, multiple museums, gardens, animals, a train, trails, a boomtown, and more. Go as early as possible because if you love exploration and learning, you could spend all day here easily.
The Flash Flood experience is really cool!
Scott
Awesome experience at this 180 acre preserve, with multiple museums, plus Las Vegas town replica from 1905! Tram ride around the preserve is available, but we did not get the chance as it was closed 1 hour before closing. Get here early! Affordable ticket price at $10 maximum. Great place for kids!
Ted Prohowich
Springs Preserve is about 2.5 to 3 miles west of downtown Las Vegas. I didn't realize the size of this place until I went on the train ride. I strongly recommend this. If you are into hiking, there are trails as well.
The long history, culture, natural geography and habitat of Las Vegas and surrounding area are highlighted in the excellent exhibits.
The many waves of Native people were described by the archeology of the area as well as historical record.
Long before the metropolitan expansion of the Vegas Valley, springs here created "the meadows" which in Spanish is "Las Vegas".
Boomtown 1905 gives a sample of what life was like at that time. A quaint village. Considering the U.S. Census shows a population of 25 in 1900 and 800 in 1910. 32 times as many people. That's a boom.
The history of toys was a great interactive exhibit.
There are many existing historic structures on site that have been preserved and restored.
Don't forget to stop at the gift shop before you leave.
Next time, I need to stop at the Waterworks.
Aprylle Linch
The butterfly exhibit was so beautiful! But truthfully the best part was the museum. There are so many hands on things to do here with kids. And a beautiful venue for weddings. Every time I come there is a wedding happening.
Brenda Ruzbasan
Beautiful. We spent several hours, and didn't get to see everything. It's educational, relaxing, and I can't wait to return with my Grandson. There's a train ride, splash pad, and the Butterfly house opens up in April. This is a great destination for the whole family.
Zach Szablewski
This is an excellent nature preserve with a beautiful native plant garden, many miles of stone and paved trail, and interpretive signs. After flying into Las Vegas this was really the only thing I did in Las Vegas proper. This is the best thing you can do with your money in town... support a natural area and habitat for many local flora and fauna. There are clean restroom facilities and ample places for parking with covered parking as well. There is also a cafe.
Johnny Rockitworld
This place is awesome! There are so many things to see and do at this awesome museum. Exploring The Past like the Dinosaurs or the Present with Desert animals. Don't forget to visit the Train exhibit and the indigenous dwellings of the local area of Nevada☆
kruti shah
A day pass for 10$, includes botanical garden, train ride, dog show and the museum. Some fun creative activities on Saturdays from 10-2pm. The butterfly habitat was quite fascinating and a fun experience! Some history and facts about Las Vegas were made known on the train ride through “the meadows”
Scott Burgess
We absolutely loved springs preserve! The cost ($10/adult) and location (short drive from the strip) are excellent. The museums, The gardens and scenic walkways, and the butterflies exhibit were awesome. Everyone we encountered was extremely friendly. Plenty of photo opportunities available. Definitely worth spending a few hours exploring this Vegas gem. Once you're out there walk you around it's hard to believe you're in the middle of Las Vegas with 2 million people. The cafe overlooks The gardens and smelled fantastic, will definitely return to eat and drink on the balcony.
Karis Tchokreff
I went with my son his wife and grandkids. It was 106 that day so we did mostly indoor activities. Which were very good, my grandchildren had fun, they are 6 and 9 years old. You can go in the summer we just did it and it was fun, we plan on going back and adventuring more outside, we did take one small walk to the gardens but that was it. I definitely recommend this place I will review again once we go when it is cooler.

I come to Las Vegas every year to visit family and this has got to be my favorite place in the whole city. They have several different museums there, the best being the Nevada museum and the Boomtown. I love the ambiance here. As you walk from museum to museum, it is decorated in such a way that you feel as if you’re in a canyon. There’s lots of flowers along the walkways and there’s a desert garden on the premises if you’re into that type of thing. If it’s not too hot there is also a short walking trail you can take to get to the Boomtown. If it is too hot you can take the tiny train back and forth. This is a great place to take your kids as it is very interactive. Be sure to check the hours before you go though and come when the Nevada museum is open or you will miss a lot of good stuff. I can’t recommend this place highly enough because some of my best memories with my brother and sister were made here!
Nancy Cadwallader
Absolutely an Amazing place to visit. The Beauty of this place is the best part of Las Vegas. The butterflies, flowers, cacti and succulents. Even the museum is cool. We will be going back to see more butterflies soon.
Marina
I came here recently to photograph a wedding ceremony. It was absolutely beautiful!!! I loved being there near all the plants and trees and butterflies. I will be back again for a personal experience. This is a wonderful little getaway in the hear of Vegas.
Jerry Pinkas
One of the most interesting things I found at the Springs Preserve was a 754-square-foot solar-powered home onsite built by the University of Nevada. This one-bedroom, one-bathroom home features a self-sustaining living off the grid with Solar panels, a multipurpose water system that combines plumbing, strategic window placement cross-ventilation, and a custom-screened outdoor deck that filters sun in the summer and retracts to allow warmth from the sun in winter. Very interesting concepts.
Necole
An Nevada Ebt card gets a discount, $3.00 per person with card on hand. Free parking. The train ride and museums were included in entry fee. The butterfly exhibit was awesome! Wear comfortable shoes and refillable water containers. There is a hot dog truck that sells water, gatorade, or can sodas for $2.00. All restrooms were clean.
Regular admission: $9.99 adults & $4.99 children ages 3 and up.
Nathalie
I went with family with age ranges from teens to adults and we had a good time. The flash flood presentation was interesting to see and the animals seemed comfortable. At the Origen Museum within the property they had a toy themed exhibit showcasing toys over time. Didn't get to see the butterflies because of timing but would definitely return.
Omar Cavazos
Great place to spend time with the family in Las Vegas. Our son had lots of fun with all the activities and playgrounds. The museum exhibits had great history and information about Nevada and local ecosystems. Would love to go back!
Michele Woods
Best expierence in a Botanical Garden/Museum. It is very much a place you have to go several times due to size. It is well cared for and lots of signs around to tell you what you're looking at. I hope to be back before my trip ends.
Ednalyna Martin
Great place for family fun and learning! Staff were helpful and friendly. Amenities were really good and historical activities and lessons were much enjoyed and appreciated by my family and I. The kids especially loved visiting Boomtown
Tom Warfield
My wife and I were looking for something a little less Las Vegas, if you know what I mean. We decided to go here. We enjoyed the nature which is so much different than North Carolina were we are from. We took the 'train' ride around the park, which was a nice way to get a history lesson on the preserve. We didn't have any young kids with us, but the ones we saw really seemed to like the place, lots of space to be a kid.
Chin Zhi Hui
Great cactus and agave, good for a 45min walk in the gardens. if you have American horticulture society membership you can view the outdoor exhibits +1 guest at no charge.
Rachel
This place is so green! 😍 Our family did not have a lot of time to visit and there were some sections/ programming closed due to Covid, but it was a lovely experience. The employees are kind and knowledgeable, helpful and accommodating. There is a neat little train ride you can take through the preserve, and many areas for kids and adults alike to explore.
I was looking for somewhere to go where I could connect with nature and the grounds did not disappoint.
Town Traveller
Totally worth more than $10. A whole day of activities and things to explore. Kids will have fun while adults will gain addtional knowledge.
Lou V
Exceeded my expectations. Was expecting to spend a few hours here, but ended up being 4 hours. And that's on a Monday with no wait times for exhibits. Bigger than I thought, we saw everything basically. Short walk to Boom town was nice. Wouldn't mind going again
Edward Hillenbrand
Well worth the time! A bit of history of the area, a lot of nature, activities for all ages. Their website underestimated the time to visit, plan at least three and a half hours to visit all the displays.
Chelsea Snead
The Springs is one of our favorite places to be as a family! Our kids (ages 1 and 4) love the train, the playground, the museums, the animals, the butterfly habitat, the splash pad, the gardens, Toddler Time, the fossil dig, just to name a few! There is so much to see and do and our membership has been well worth the price. The staff at the Springs have always been friendly, helpful and kind. We have also loved attending special events over the years, including the Black History Month Festival, Dia de los Muertos and the Halloween events. We also love to visit the Divine Cafe when we’re there and take in the gorgeous view while eating on the balcony/patio.
D C
Plenty to see and explore. Spent four hours including lunch at the cafe and still didn't get to visit other museums except Waterworks which was very educational.
j hwang
The visit to the springs started out very disappointing.
The ticket booth advised us the first train started at 9am. When we got there, 9am came and went. Finally the train arrived about 10 minutes past 9am and we were told by the train conductor the train starts at 9:30am. So we waited around for no reason.
We went to then catch a gardening show but that time slot also came and went. When we inquired, we were finally told the volunteer who was suppose to give that talk didn't show up. It would be nice if they let the customers know of these changes so they are not waiting around wasting time.
Thanks Cindy for saving the day!! She gave us a very fun and informative talk about gardening.
Aside from these hiccups, the train ride wasn't too exciting. The various grounds were nice. Lots of plants to look at. The Nevada museum is a must see.
Erik Ellsworth
Great place to spend the day with the family. With lots of hiking trails, the butterfly habitat, train rides, Boomtown 1905, rotating exhibits and the adjacent museums, you'll always find something fun and interesting to do!
Angie Wolff
Wonderful hidden gem. Found it while in town for a wedding. Grounds are beautiful staff was friendly. Would highly recommend
Brian O'Neill
Always a blast! The butterfly exhibit didn't have a ton of butterflies, but we went on the last day.
Train ride is always a kick for the little ones, and the Big Toys exhibit was fun and nostalgic.
Really nice people working at this place. Always friendly and helpful.
Lone Rogue
This place is big and has a lot of potential to be great, but unfortunately they have lots of work to get to there operationally.
The person at the ticketing booth informed us that the 1st train ride would be at 9am. We waited around 8:44am at the train stop while planning out our day's activities/tours. The line started building up with others also waiting for the 9am train, but when the conductor arrived around 9:05am, he said his 1st departure would be 9:30am. Not wanting to wait another 25 mins in the heat and to maximize our time, we headed out for the 9:30am Garden Tour at the Solar house. The signs are lacking and uninviting to many of the buildings being locked which you won't know until you try the door. We waited ~9:15am at the Solar House, but no one showed up. Attempted to do the 9:30am Desert Dwellers Pop Up Activity but nothing there either! We stopped an employee named Zack who helped us find anyone who was running any tour so we wouIdn't waste any more time waiting for nonexistent activities. Zack helped us connect with Cindy at the garden center who graciously rescued the day by giving us an impromptu tour of her garden. Cindy Dixon is awesome - you can tell she genuinely likes what she does and likes to teach! (Kudos to Zack and Cindy for rescuing our morning as none of the listed events existed - an intern didn't show up for one of the activities, not sure what the excuse was for the other events.) We did end up catching the train ride at a much later time (it runs every 30 mins), but the unenthusiastic sounding audio recording was inaudible most of the time due to the train noise. The audio recording could use a revamp to get people's attention otherwise it was basically a train ride around the complex - no stops, round trip back to where you start. We also tried to visit the souvenir store based on the maps, but you won't know it's no longer there after walking around in the heat and seeing the only door sign stating it's in some other area which we just came from and again no signs anywhere there as well.
I'm glad the entry fee was only $10/person as it's not worth any more than that - a huge disappointment for such a vast place.
Lada Plihalova
So many things to do. You can literally spend a whole day here and still be not able to explore all. When I was there, some expositions were still closed yet I was there a whole day and believe I could spent there another day again.
I have started in Nevada State Museum - that is your typical museum, from prehistoric time to modern Vegas time. Fossils, mining and minerals, local indigenous cultures, atomic testing etc. Its chronological from start to end.
I have continued to Origen museum - that one is very modern, interactive, hands on museum with outdoor exposition and mini zoo. They also have a movie theater with short movie about geological origin of Spring preserve and water resources.
Than I headed to botanical garden - which is all about sustainable gardening in the desert. They do also a lot of seminars.
Than I took a short hike trough desert - original landscape part to replica of Boomtown - 1920ties town which was a base for Las Vegas.
As you can see its like 4 different experiences in one, for one price. Loved the variety of activities you can see there. Will be back to see butterfly exposition, when it returns back.
FunkFamily- Adventures
This is great place to go once if your a tourist. It's off the strip, it's family friendly and it's not that expensive compared to all Vegas entertainment options: $9.95 adults, $4.95 children (ages 3-17), free for children ages 2 and under. It's got a museum, butterfly walk through, train ride to some Vegas original buildings (Where Vegas started), it's got a water museum, a kids playground, ALL SORTS of stuff. Its hot (walking from attraction to attraction), so drink lots of water. Download the app to plan out your day. Not many people download the app and use the planning and map tools it has. This made everything a lot easier for us. It's a learning place, not your amusement park environment so if your going with kids their going to get worn out of to much museum and education attractions. Brings snacks, take breaks and you can last a good half day here.

I went here for the dia del muertos event. It was lovely. They had metro securing the place. Security make sure we didn’t have weapons. The music was nice. The performances were amazing. I loved getting a glimpse of the Mexican culture.
Erica Oseff
We love it here. The playground is super fun, the exhibits are great! They do such a wonderful job here! Don't miss story time either!
YOYIS YO
Día de muertos festival I love it !!! one of my favorite days to go ...
Larry Berg
Wowee kazowee! I had NO idea how extensive and large this facility was going to be. It's so big, we weren't even able to do everything in a single day's visit. We will need to come back to finish the whole property. First of all, what an amazing staff. All of the employees were friendly and helpful. The Origen Museum was great! The train ride and Boomtown were fun. Even the Cafe was wonderful! The Sustainability Gallery and Nature Exchange was very fun and interesting. We got to break open a geode! There are lots of areas to rest, lots of walking (including optional trails), lots to see, a beautiful new cactus garden, botanical garden, the Nevada State Museum, a Waterworks Exhibit, galleries, interactive displays, just so much to see and do! Great for kids (I saw three playgrounds!), and also great for seniors with ramps and elevators everywhere. Water bottle refill stations are available. An amazing full day, and we're not done yet! I was amazed at the very fair entry price, too. Overall, SIX stars!!
Joey DeFazio
Beautiful place to spend an afternoon. My wife and I were on business travel and wanted to spend time outside away from the strip. The property is excellently maintained and the exhibits are fun. We especially enjoyed the butterfly exhibit!
Arlene Arlene
Can't go wrong here, a bit of everything for everyone. The nature walks are nice all kinds of plants, very peaceful. There is Nevada State Museum & interactive museum for kids with many activities. In the childrens museum the display for one of the showrooms change seasonally.
Sadly the Devine Cafe has changed a lot since pre pandemic; the burgers are super tiny for a higher price. The quality of the fries were not great. They had a dark color to them. The kids menu changed my kids did not find their food appetizing.
Don't want to steal the stars away from the place since the cafe seems to be ran separately , will definitely bring a lunch moving forward.
9/12 visit
👍🏼Each time I come here I discover something either new or something I missed on my previous visit.
There is now cooling stations and several water stations to fill up your water jug. I came prepared this time but it was nice to see this! As always everyone is friendly. We bumped into Krystal one of the girls that works here & always nice to have a conversation with her. Nice that she remembers us from previous years coming here.
We found a cool spot that we missed in prior visits.... a trading post for kids! They can earn badges for being little nature explorers. They also had a candle making craft for kids here. My kids thought that was cool!
Glad to hear the cafe is making some changes (temporarily closed). Can't wait!
The kids exhibition is being worked on for new exhibit coming 10/1. 👩🚀
👎🏼Found it sad that they didn't do the full loop on the train. My family was looking forward to this. Hoping this comes back this fall!
latania graham
Lovely oasis right outside of the strip, with lots to do and take in, if you are a nature lover. Will definitely be back to check out the things I didn't take in today.🥰 Glad that I caught the last day of the butterfly exhibit.
Danielle Villafania
I love this place! The customer service is impeccable! My ding bat self didn't put my email in when purchasing my tickets and contacted customer service and they were able to resolve it in minutes. I have been taking my child here since she was able to walk. It's such a great spot for kids to burn energy and learn and have fun doing it!
Char N
This is always a wonderful way to enjoy the outdoors, learn new things and appreciate the beauty of nature. When my 2 year old grandson saw the Mammoth skeleton he kept saying "Wow!"
haley yesno
Amazing collection of information along side nature. They have a big playground and a small trail system. Highly recommend the year membership!
Shannon Hickman
We went to see the gardens and butterfly exhibit. It was truly a beautiful thing to see! Will definitely be going back the next time we go to Las Vegas. There was so much that we didn't get to see. The grounds were clean, play areas were well kept and the bathrooms (for public bathrooms) were clean.
Veronica Gallegos
Love this place and so does my 4 and 5yr old! Definitely coming more often. The museums are great fun and educational, the trails are nice and the old town but when it's hot it's HOT! Bring water and hats for small kids/babies
JO DC
One of my favorite places in Las Vegas. From Boomtown to the Butterfly Habitat, and Museum. Perfect for a family day!
Alysia Manring
This place is absolutely beautiful! A perfect mix of nature preserve and historical museum, it's wonderful to see all the beautiful parts of this desert all at once. The year long membership is worth it, $60 for 2 adults and up to 6 kids.
Megan Wynn
New exhibit based on space and flight simulations has interaction and models anyone would find engaging and fun.
Heather Parker
Springs Prserve is a beautiful place to experience the natural habitat of Las Vegas and I suppose much of Nevada especially pre mass development and pre-colonization. We especially enjoyed learning about flash floods. I wish they included Indigenous people's perspectives as well. Can't wait to come back when the Butterflies are there
Jo Rice
We love this place! Always hours of fun for the kids. The exhibits are well thought out and engaging. Playgrounds, train rides, nature walks. We can never do it all in one visit.
Paul Waby
An oasis in the middle of a sprawling city , two fun museums and a beautiful desert landscaped botanical garden - in my top LV locations
Vickie G
Our first time visiting the park for Dia de Los Muertos and totally loved it will definitely go again next year Thank you Springs Preserve for the beautiful experience!!
JC Mendoza
My kids truly enjoyed it. It was well worth the price and a great way to get the kids out of the house. Very educational as well. On top of being outdoors they also ensured that guests practice social distancing with sanitizing stations and reminders to stay 6 feet apart. Definitely recommend it.
TheMikey1865
Wow what can I say about this place. Here you will find an oasis in the middle of Vegas. The wife and I visited and were impressed with the museums and the history they showed of how Vegas came to be from hundreds of years ago to present day. They have so much to see and do you can't possibly do it in one day. Visit here and you won't be disappointed.
Danielle Virgil
It was great! The only thing that could have made it better was if all the exhibits were open. It's still only partially open because of COVID but the State museum is open and the trails, botanical gardens and desert animals exhibit. Pretty cool still and hours of fun!
Seth Borneman
Wonderful diversity of plants, but some of the plants were obviously stressed, while others had been recently replaced. Indicating that the original plant had died.
This should serve as a model for how to properly plant and irrigate these plants. They should be able to keep more of their plants alive.
The 300 foot long garden hoses are evidence that their irrigation scheduling is incorrect, so they are forced to manually water.
Tom Murphy
An excellent choice for a day's activities in Las Vegas. It includes two museums, gardens, a playground, walking trails, a train, a butterfly habitat (seasonal), historic exhibits, a restaurant, and more. The staff. Including many volunteers, are friendly and helpful.
Jeff Workman
Beautiful grounds, love the butterflys. Did not spend a lot of time in the museum exhibits but they were interesting. Just a really neat place to walk around in - loved the cactus!
Nick Campbell
Wonderful manergie of things to do a few minutes from the strip. Awesome Nevada museum and other sights to see on property. We should have gone sooner as it's a nice change of pace during a Vegas vacation.
Elizabeth Patience
Learned a lot about desert and Las Vegas history. Fascinating plants in botanical gardens. Enjoyed the dog show. Interactive exhibits and flash flood were well done.
Zak H
First time here! Seems like staff loves their job here. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. This facility is great for families, especially for kids. What a little oasis in the middle of vegas. There's a playground and many other activities here for kids to do and see! There's even a train, wht a surprise! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone with a little time on their hands.
Jennifer Moreland
A must-go-see place for desert plant lovers. The gardens are full of a diverse selection of plants and all of it is artistically arranged. The art and architecture around the gardens is also very striking and beautiful. The butterfly exhibit is was a special treat, full of colorful beauties! I especially appreciated the volunteers working around the preserve. They were all extremely helpful, informational, and kind. I could tell this place means a great deal to the locals, which made me appreciate it even more. So glad we did this activity during our last day in Vegas instead of hanging out in a casino on the strip!
Chloe Costello
Loved coming here with my friend! I am kinda sad that the cafe is closed, but I loved seeing all the animals! I also loved the flood sim, would recommend!
Marina Guerrero
This place is very educational and fun. My husband, 8 year old and 4 year old have so much fun here. There are beautiful trails here to walk or bike around. They have bikes and strollers to rent here
Steve Tjiang
This museum is a good place to learn about the history and natural history of the Las Vegas area. If you need a break from the noise and lights of the strip and its casinos, this museum is the right place for you.
I only wished that there were more details and exhibits on the flora and fauna of the mojave desert instead the many exotic plants imported from the Sonoran desert.
John Butler
Awesome place to go as a family, outdoors, indoors, hot or not, lots to see and do. Changing exhibits give plenty of reasons to come back, as well, besides just how beautiful and interesting it all is.
Michael Leonard
Our new adventure spot. Went yesterday and walked so many trails. Before we left we decided to upgrade our tickets to get an annual pass because we still hadn't seen all that the Springs Preserve had to offer.
Alex Fadi Natour
I wish the had more food options. Only 4 vendors, lines and waiting times too long. Other than that, it was absolutely incredible and the kids had a fantastic experience
Joshua Wagoner
Butterfly Habitat is amazing, have to catch it when in season.
Kelley
This place always brings joy to my world. I've been 3 times each time on a field trip with my schools. The kids just love looking at the bugs and animals. And this time they got to enjoy the Halloween decorations they have installed. Our favorite part is the butterfly Habit. A must see for visitors and locals. Especially if you have children!
RawRec! Strike
Right now museums still closed but the park is open with $5 entrance. Right time to see plants of desert gorgeously blooming!
Alfonso Vargas
Loved it. Loved their landscape, so we'll arranged. The show was for The Day Of The DEAD and definitely I'll be back for that great event or maybe sooner for other public events. Thinking of becoming a member.
Elizabeth Gasca
Beautiful place to come and explore nature! The museums are amazing! Come early to get tour moneys worth and site see the whole place!
Tiffani Torgeson
Big place to visit. Had a wonderful time in the many museums and hands on exhibits! Wonderful green space and butterfly house. Great for a family adventure with fun things to do for all ages!! Even the cafe was good food and reasonable prices. Loved the Boomtown remake of Las Vegas, so cute and educational. Prices were very reasonable, but would recommend a family membership, as you save ten percent with discount on tickets.
Josanna Espejo
We went for the Holiday Express and loved it! The Springs Preserve is a great place year round for kids and adults, but we thoroughly enjoyed the decorations and holiday atmosphere created for this event. The train was so fun, the activities were planned perfectly and extremely well organized. The volunteers working were friendly and helpful and we made great memories. We even have keepsakes that we made to remember our visit and of course, photos with Santa. Highly recommended!
Anja Bell
It was the perfect weather and I will visit everytime I'm anywhere near Vegas, what a gorgeous respite and information and interesting place, didn't get to everything on my first visit but I will be back hopefully again and again, Super recommended for kids of all ages
Leticia Anderson
I went with the Family to Dia de Muertos Celebration at Prings Preserve Sunday Nov.6/22
We want to say THANK YOU to all the employees/security that assisted us when my husband wasn't feeling well and needed wheelchair assistance to our car. Thank you 😊 thank you. It's so wonderful when people care and help
Kourtney Zurek
While the majority of the hands on exhibits are still closed due to pandemic prevention measures, tge Preserve is still a spectacular place to escape the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas. The trails are all still open and the State Museum is open on Saturday and Sunday.
It will be nice once they can reopen the interactive parts of the Preserve so that people of all ages are able to enjoy what the park has to offer.
Chris Constantine
$30 for an annual membership makes this one of our winter happy places in Las Vegas. A variety of gardens and buildings, as well as admission to the State Museum, provides plenty to enjoy throughout the year.

This place is amazing!! So much to see. We honestly thought because of most we've been to that we'd only need maybe 1.5 hr but we still weren't done after 4!! I was lucky to experience the butterfly habitat so if you can go and see that as well!! So many breeds of butterflies! They have a cafe as well. The museum has amazing lifesize examples and steps you through the building of the Hoover Dam (short film) and progression. They also have desert animals for viewing. Residents save a good deal and I would even say you will want the pass!

Loved coming here as a kid and now as an adult I still love it! Great discounts if you're a local too, like dirt cheap! Always super well maintained cause I mean, other than the fact it is a preserve, it has an A+ on sanitation.
The different attractions it has are great too, not to mention the museum a couple of feet away as well, plus a butterfly habitat in late fall! How can you not love this place?
Joanna “JoPem” Pemberton
A jewel in a plastic world of excess. This oasis allows nature to salve your soul the volunteers and staff are top class. Walks, museums, wonderful gardens to explore on foot, bike or train. Trinity cafe was a gift from God. Trinity our guide added sparkle. Highly recommended for all ages.
Audrey Métairie
We love Springs Preserve. We go at least twice a month with our two years old because there is always something to do
The family membership is a steal for the price.
L. Carr
Great natural space with lots of educational opportunities. Kids and grandparents enjoyed the exhibits and just wandering the beautiful spaces.
Blackbeard The Biker
Horticulture Magazine named it one of the, "Top 10 North American Gardens Worth Traveling For." This place is truly an oasis! They have like 12 different desert appropriate gardens to walk through. Occasionally they have plant sales. Springs Ampitheater is a nice little, sit-on-astroturf, venue to catch live shows. Covered parking makes the summer heat much more tolerable. The butterfly exhibit is small but very cool, for me however, being a 6'3", Hulksmash type, I have to be super cautious walking and taking pics so I don't accidentally step on a butterfly. Photographers - it's better to leave your tripod outside the butterfly exhibit. I've gone several times trying to get a Blue Morpho pic, but so far no luck!
Springs Preserve: A++

We always have a great time at the preserve. Things are kept pretty clean, the playground is awesome, the museum always has exhibits that keep the kids interested in learning.
The vegetation at the springs is awe inspiring considering it is the middle of the Las Vegas desert, the butterfly habitat is gorgeous, and they rent out bikes to explore the trails.
They have a picnic area near to a play area and sandbox as well as some little "waterfalls" cooking down the side of the tall wall to help you cool off during the summer.
We have the family pass which allows us access an hour earlier than they are opened to the public, gives us a discount at their restaurant (which serves pretty excellent food, beer and wine) and which is located above the nature exchange.
The nature exchange is yet another excellent way to get kids out and learning about nature.
Nevada state museum is also on the premises and is included in general admission price to the preserve.
The springs preserve is a must visit.
Rachel Drake
Get places for kids and adults a like. They have a museum with rotating exhibits and a flash flood simulator which is really exciting. They also classes on a variety of topics including desert landscaping and care. They often have events going on and at the right seasons they have a walk through butterfly habitat. The ticket prices are reasonable and they offer local discounts. The shop and restaurant can get pricy though. We usually bring our own food or eat before hand.
Gigi Anderson
Not really knowing what to expect, my husband and I went here when we had a couple extra hours one day. We ended up buying the yearly family membership because there was just so much to do, it was so peaceful, absolutely beautiful, and we knew we would be back! Well there's definitely more than a couple hours worth of things that you could do with the two museums, the gardens, the walking trails, and the Boomtown, for the entry price of $10 even if you only have a couple hours to spend it's worth it! It's a great place to visit to look at the natural landscaping in Nevada and to learn about the Springs that Las Vegas was built up around.
Ramona Pollock
Wonderful place to walk around the Botanical Gardens and listen to the birds, learned history about Lasvegas. So many nice things to do for children.
Joanna Alina
Beautiful. Such a lovely space. Plenty of room for kids to run around. Or give a spot and relax, or just walk around this Oasis spot and enjoy the landscape. A real gem in the middle of the city.
I will be returning every chance I get.
(the butterfly habitat is closed during winter season)
Charlene Gibson
This was my second visit to Springs Preserve and it was better than ever! We loved the new 1905 Boomtown and Water exhibits, the playground and Ori-Gen Museum! Love the flash flood demo, too! SO much to see and do and great value for the ticket price, especially for locals! We spent the whole day there and my nieces loved it! Can't wait to go back! Great family fun!
g gardner
Amazing! Beautiful! I wish Ihad more time to visit and explore! I love the exchange program where kids may exchange found objects for other amazing objects! As long as you found it and did not kill it, you may exchange what you found for more awesome things! Like Geodes and fossils and bones! (You can find a dead bug or flower, but you can not pluck a living flower or stomp the bug) You basically cannot be an active participant in the organisms' timely demise.
Love this Place! A Great Time Out doors for anybody and everybody! An Amazing Desert Oasis! Can't wait to visit the Springs Preserves Again!
Brian Poppe
What can ya say. Even in covid limits the plce was great. For 10 bucks its hours of fun.
Elizabeth Pikes
This place is amazing. It's great for young and old. Lots of interactive exhibits. Spring preserve is full of information as well. Everyone working here was so nice and helpful! Will definitely return.
Nicholas Miceli
An amazing place to take the family. Besides for the two amazing museums, the botanical garden walk is a beautiful desert oasis. They have lots of fun events throughout the year. The Halloween festivals is one of our favorites. Great fun for the kids.
Baby Stewey
Art, nature, beautiful trails and the most friendly staff always cheerful and happy to answer questions or share information about the plants and grounds. A favorite place to take guests
KaiserSickle
Wonderful place to visit with friends and family! I visited here with my friend and it's a great place for Nevada lovers, nature enthusiasts. It gets pretty hot so bring water and make sure to go inside to enjoy the many exhibits when you can!
Sharon Gonzalez
Great place for free family outdoor activity. Beautiful gardens, great trail to hike and train to take you around. Look into waterworks or stop at Boomstown where you can walk through a modeled town of 1903, actual model of early settlement little town.
Saggio Ricercatore
Don’t miss this gem! Could not get enough of this place—the two onsite museums were fascinating and displays were vast in scope covering natural history and geology, and human history from ancient through modern settlements, mining, atomic age, gambling and glitz. The displays were so creative and endlessly interesting. Gambling cheat devices in the same facility as a full size mammoth skeleton. Holographic reenactors performing as NV history legends and short films of characters teaching about native life. There was an exciting and informative flash flood experience and even a butterfly habitat. Two gift stores on the grounds each carrying different wares and both worth a visit. Also a remarkable program to view and handles all sorts of fossils, shells, minerals, nests and other nature finds, and kiddos can enroll to trade in found objects for points they can trade for nature collectibles.
Ryan Hinz
I was very pleasantly surprised on all of the variety of things to do from hiking trails to museums to interactive animal displays and Exhibits. There is a lot to see so make sure that you make an entire day of it. Well worth it
Cory Bennett
Great for all ages! So much to explore, interact with, and experience. Designed and accessible for all this is a real gem in Vegas. We were visiting with two young kids in March and we could have spent all day here, though I imagine it would be quite hot in summer. We also got lucky to explore the MathAlive exhibit, well worth the admission for this alone. Lastly, the food in the cafe was not too pricey and rather delicious.
Anna Jánosi
Very unique and educational place. People can learn about the nature and desert animals.
The volunteers & employees are surprisingly friendly and kind, professional.
I spent 4 hours here and could manage to see everything.
The cafe serves nice food. (From cafe there is a good view at Downtown)
I liked the animal show, the botanical garden (saw a rare bird there) and the energy saving house + Hoover Dam exhibition.
Highly recommended - great escape from the Strip
Wendy Oliveri
We dressed up in our Halloween costume and went to the haunted harvest at Springs preserve. They had games for the kids (and adults who wanted to play), candy and trick or treating, petting zoo, music, dancing, food, drinks, train ride. First time I have been there, enjoyed it very much. We will be back. They also have concerts there, nature concervation, botanical gardens, butterfly's ( when in season) . Lots to do and see, people running it are so kind and considerate. So go, have fun, enjoy. Be sure to wear your walking shoes...
Rc Weaver
Very relaxing and well kept; a lot more to see than I thought. Interactive museum, and garden paths. So glad I took the time to visit. Mapping of layout in downloaded app was very helpful.
W D
Indoor Dino exhibit was little small but good size for a toddler. Couldn’t see the whole place but was really neat. I liked the flash flood area too.
staff were nice.
Cheyenne Keeler
This was my first time visiting and it was a great experience. I visited at the end of March and it was the perfect temperature for the outdoor activities. The botanical garden featured a lot of fascinating desert plant life and the hiking trails let us see various wildlife. The museums were fun and a great way to avoid the heat of the day. I suggest doing your outdoor activities in the morning and the museums near noon. Overall, a ton of stuff to do for around $10 a person.
J Pokakaa
I love this place! There is so much to see and do!! We went to the Ohana festival. It was lots of fun! The Ripley's Believe It or not was there. You gotta check often on their website because of the constant changes. There are gardening classes. The state museum is on the grounds. There is also a place for the kids to explore.
padma prasad
First, I was facinated by the story of the spring that kind of started and sustained settlement in this dersert. I applaud the efforts to conserve and reinstate the water body here. Some of the exhibits like Boomtown and the old train station captured the long passage of time and in that desert stillness captured a sense of timelessness. This is the place where one can actually feel the conquest of the west, the struggle for water, the cowboy's role, almost like stepping into a movie set of those classic westerns.
Angie Quarles
It was great, Kids loved it, however, most exhibits were closed, so the best time to go is still Spring and Summer!
Debra Livas
This place is super affordable for the family! Great place for all ages. It has a little bit of everything from indigenous history/ Las Vegas founding history to info on green energy to a botanical garden!
Zayda Mae Soliman
Had so much fun with my 19 yr old & 6yr old kids. They enjoyed the museums, the 20min train ride, the featured dog show. They also had so much fun on the children's playground & the water splash playground. I enjoyed the whole garden & the featured butterfly habitat. All in all, it was a great day. We will definitely keep coming back.
Mia Driskell
This was a fun place. We arrived at 1030am and didn't leave until 3pm! So much to do and see and learn about! Don't forget to ride the train!
Lucretia Hody
Nice place to visit with the kids. Boomtown is such a fun place to explore.
G V
This place has grown since I last went there. It is a oasis in the middle of Vegas. The tours and other added features don't impress me. However, it's nice to see they are growing it. Butterfly exhibit was great.
just me
Always fun! We got to check out the new Dinosaurs Unearthed exhibit. Lots of beautiful flowers blooming on the property. Great afternoon
chris kemper
This was a great place that not many people know of I believe. You could spend a 1/2 A-day here easily. Everyone was friendly and the place was very clean. Train rides were fun.
Sharon Mall
Springs Preserve has a little bit of everything. Beautiful gardens, museums and don't forget the butterflies. Great place to visit!
Reeva Sebald
My family and I had a great visit! We went on a Sunday around 10:45am and it was nice and quiet and not very many people. My kids had a wonder time looking at all the exhibits and learning about the local plants and critters and the history of the land and people.
Katelyn Manning
Would highly recommend to families. I took a 6 and 13 year old and they both had a blast. There is a wide variety of activities to do. Would return 100%
HERM PAZ
The place surprised me for its complexity, spotlessness and commitment to education/information on sustainability.
Ashante Hamilton
Spring Preserve was okay but it was too far off in the woods to go this with my family and Union and we have elderly people in wheelchair and some people that couldn't walk so good and it was too far away they need the better solution
Lindsey Beslow
Beautiful Vegas nature preserve capturing various Nevada eras, habitats, and trails. On the west end of the trail is Boomtown, a reminance of a small Las Vegas 1905 town offering real life structures with artifacts that you can walk into and immerse back in time.
Anthony Tait
Very nice place to take kids to beat the heat or escape the chill, explore the large facilities and outdoor recreation area, talk to other parents totting their kids, watch little critters in captivity and roaming the preserve wildly, learn Nevada's prehistoric or recent history, and have traveling exhibits come through during certain seasons. All the staff can't help but say hello in a genuine manner. Top marks❤️
Hannah Diestra
There is so much to do in one visit. The park is great and covered from the sun for the kids when it gets hot. The garden is beautiful, I only wish they had more labels for all the plants. They seem to only label a few plants here or there. Our favorite exhibit is the flash flood simulator! Such a cool experience! The VR experience is cool too, but I like that a lot of the changing features are related. We’ve been to a few of the changing features, like the explorers one and the dinosaurs.
Barbara Hamers
There is a lot of work to do but it is always a pleasure to go for a walk.
Anita Wagaman
Loved it,lots of gardens to see, train ride museums
Mark Pabst
This is now my favorite place to visit in Vegas, especially the trails around the original springs that resulted in the development of Las Vegas. In walking the trail you get a real sense of what Las Vegas was like prior to Eastern settlement. You also learn the geology that produces the springs, how settlers tried to utilize them, and the dominance of railroading.
Also history on how indigenous people used the area, why downtown is three miles away from the water source, and the failed mormon mission.
Ken Y.
This is an excellent place for kids 10 or under; however, my 12 and 17 also enjoy the visit. There were not many visitors in the morning and we like the setting and atmosphere both indoor and outdoor, without the crowd. If you intent to visit the Antelope Canyon, the demonstration of the flash flood is a must see.
Monique Mats
Love this place. My son lives it as well. We should have an annual pass by now. So do yourself a favor and get one. There's a lot to do here. From their traveling exhibits, the butterfly exhibit which everyone loves. The hiking, biking , Nevada state museum, the old Town Nevada. It's really cool. Plus they do a lot of kids or adult activities all year round! Love it!
Rattanakthida Sihock
It's so worth the time to spend there and very educational for children. This is one of the best museums I've ever visited. We definitely will visit this place again.
Charlene P
I can't wait to come back here in the spring! The maze was fun, but a little short. The grounds we're still beautiful/kind of cool to see even though it's the middle of winter.
Charles Grosh (Angry Gorilla)
Loved it! Great place to take family, friends, and loved ones for a fun day in nature. You're guaranteed to learn something new and have fun too. Food available too.
Joe Dambrosio
Love this place what's worth getting a membership. We get the Bronze Membership every year there's always new exhibits to come see parking is great and the restaurant has good food
Bob Altman
A rather expensive area in the city of Las Vegas to be able to take your family or even just yourself to somewhere outside. The heat is always difficult in Vegas but here there is a considerable amount of shade and trees plus other vegetation. There are a few museums on the campus plus a botanical garden. A lot of the items are geared towards children but not all. I would highly recommend this place to spend the day.
Charles Grosh
Love Springs Preserve. Great little place to get away from the city for a few moments. Fun place to take your family or to get a little exercise. Lots to discover here in the heart of Las Vegas!
Tina C
I loved Springs Preserve. What a pretty place in the middle of the city. Their hours are short, not open many days, and sometimes closed for private events. Seems they have a lot of things not back up and running yet. Cafe is still closed.
Daniel Gutierrez
Came to the Springs Preserve for the annual Dia de los Muertos. We always enjoy this event. Our kids get their faces painted and do the free crafts. The entertainment is fun and the ofrendas are beautiful.
Tony Lowe
Beautiful, fun place to visit and walk around with the kids
Kapre Carter
There is so much more to do in vegas then to just go to the strip. Take a few minute drive to the local favorite. The kids will enjoy learning new things and seeing all the cool things in the rigleys believe it or not displays
Lady Abbo
Nice displays with a lot of interactive exhibits for children. We were hoping to eat in the Cafe but it is closed until September and is changing hands. Keep that in mind if you are visiting. The elevator for the Nevada Museum is down so extra walking is required for access. Only one dinosaur but that was enough for our little one.
Stacia Hearn
We love this place. There is so much to do there and so much to see. Inside and outside exhibits for kids of all ages and adults will enjoy it, too.
Michael Thomas
Had a wonderful time here. The experience would have been more enhanced had we gone during a warmer time. All in all a great place.
Ericka C416
We love it here! Always fun learning experience for all ages. Butterfly season is my favorite and opening the Geo rocks which are like $4 .
L. Sherman
Insanely cool new splash area for the kids!!! Miss the recycling area and the truck that was awesome, but hopefully something new will be coming there soon!!
Jonathan Aldama
Great place to go with kids, nice and fun learning activities. I would like a few more signs indicating where things are, we got lost looking for the butterfly water playground because there wasn't any signs.
GirlgeniusNYC
Amazing!! Buy a membership! You cannot visit everything in just one day. The café is great. Boomtown is fun. The Botanical Garden is really cool (take the Guided Tour)
Charlie The Clown
I have worked numerous events at this venue and really appreciate the way they maintain the grounds. Everything is always clean and well attended to, it’s a great place to bring your family!
Joe Timms
My children love coming. Recommend getting an annual pass. If you have a toddler make sure to take them to toddler time. Many special events throughout the year. Go see the dinosaurs before they leave.
Sarah Edminster
I don't understand why this place is so highly reviewed and expensive. I had really high expectations of this place when I first got here because I was told that it is such a beautiful place to visit. It's around $18 for admission per person and this does not include the train ride, special exhibits, or food. On the plus side, it includes admission to the adjacent natural history museum and other smaller museums within the campus, which I didn't enjoy as much either. There are a few museums, one outdoor playground, a restaurant, a bunch of desert to walk through, an ampitheater, an area with a bunch of cacti and other plants. Maybe this would have been more fun for someone who really likes the desert scenery. I just felt walking though half of this place was comparable to walking through an empty lot really anywhere out here.
Don Calley
So much fun . Lots to see! We went for the butterfly exhibit and barely had enough time for anything else. A huge butterfly landed on my wife and stayed there until we left.
Maxine Rivas
Loved coming to Spring Preserves. Such a beautiful place to vist and bring the family for the day. You can learn about the water system, electrical systems in Vegas. Recycling, ect.. very educational.
Joshua Cain
Awesome place for a family day! Highly recommend for a relaxing day outdoors. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff/volunteers.
Alex F.
I was very pleasantly surprised with the springs preserve. It is very clean, well maintained and high quality musuem/garden. The kids had a blast and we could barely keep up with them. The exhibits were interesting and very well done. I loved how interactive everything was, kept the kids attention the whole time. The butterfly exhibit was nice but a little underwhelming. Overall a great experience, will be back soon.
Belinda Rocky
Ended up here almost accidentally & am so glad I did. The 🦋 habitat was so beautiful. Also, all staff members were super friendly & knowledgeable.
jade herb
Honestly I don’t know how many people check google reviews for this but it is truly so incredible. I’m an adult and it was incredibly interesting to learn about Nevada’s native population and all the animals that were native to this land too. It’s great for kids because of the cool animals to look at and it’s great for adults because of how interesting it is to learn.
Michael Jensen
Springs Preserve is great, but the upper management really needs to do better at managing large events. We went to Dia de Muertos and it was a train wreck, from parking to admission to the actual event. It was managed very poorly.
It was very disappointing, particularly after all the effort that was put into the altars/Ofrendas.
Carolyn Hartman
So while we had fun at the halloween event... the lines were long. .. maybe candy stations where out of candy. Some staff didn't no where things were....like the petting zoo and being told it's only opened during the day. Plus side was the maze... it was tiny but super cute!
Scott Arnold
Excellent preserve for families and kids of all ages. Easy walking pathways, well marked trails, bikes available, also wheelchair friendly. Museum, gift shop and great cafe with a world class view. Get the yearly pass, you will want to go again and again--many onsite activities.
Marlene Hudson
Went for their Museum day experience. Had a wonderful time. The museum is participating had plenty of information and lots to see. Walk through the museum, and part of The Preserve. Always a wonderful place to go!
Amanda dos Anjos
Perfect place for the entire family. The kids will have fun and there's so much to see and learn about how Las Vegas was settled by the pioneers. The history is very interesting how the native American survived the hotweather. So much to see... shows, entertainment, interactive... totally worth it. Go early and spend the whole day.
Bon Manhkong
Beautiful garden walk. Educational. Butterfly habitat. Museums and exhibits. Their Divine Cafe is delicious and so reasonably priced.
wanda ratcliffe
Springs Preserve had an Hawaiian Cultural event. Has a butterfly habitat through end of May. Lots of events to enjoy with the family here.
Carla Brunston
Great experience! Very educational! Beautiful hiking trails!
Sinsual Seduction
Super really cool butterfly habitat 💖 my first time ever & was such an amazing experience , plus cool little putting date for me & my boyfriend , only downfall cafe or nothing was open 😔 …
Heather Delacruz
Went to the Dia De Los Muertos festival. What a great experience. Definitely something to see every year!
William McGonigle
Very well done attraction. Museums, botanical gardens, butterflies, life-size animated dinosaurs, and a good cafe make this a worthwhile way to spend the day.
Heidi Marie
I liked the butterfly house the best! There was an older gentleman that told us all about how the butterflies are shipped there, some things about migration, and the coolest thing I learned was that butterflies pollinate the flowers like bees.
Cheryl A
Great place on days with great weather. My 2 and 4 year old boys love going here, they can run around and play in dirt all day long. Great family spot!
Cindy Lopez
Going to the Springs Preserve is quite an experience there's some wonderful things to see and I would say everyone should go I love the little town I wish it would grow a little bit bigger which it may and time and let's have some more different things like birds and trees that are natural to Las Vegas and Nevada.
Darcy
A day at Springs Preserve is a day my daughter loves!! There is so much to do. The museum with its traveling exhibit is always a must see. Boom town is fun and educational. The playground is awesome. Cracking geodes is a blast. The Cafe has an awesome view. We love checking out all the animals and of course the flash flood. We can not go to the museum with out going to the trading post. We bring in some nature my daughter has found and trade it for something else, usually shells! The staff is great especially Mr. Chris. And we love leaning about the nature items we bring in and the new ones we leave with. So glad we have the membership!
Athena L
GREAT place for kids and adults!!! Lots of hands on activities. Everyone who works there was super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend everyone go!!!
Rebekah Flowers
Super nice gardens. 2 museums and some really awesome exhibits. Great place for kids. Lots of hiking trails. New waterworks exhibit.
Kelly Barnes-Carr
The playground is great, especially for kids that like to climb. The over 4 crowd will get the most use out of the playground, but it's fun for the little ones as well.
There's a nice splash pad behind the butterfly enclosure, but heads up, there's no shading except for a few tables with umbrellas.
I love coming here to see what plants I might be able to grow in this desert climate. The huge saguaro catcti are impressive; we actually got to see the inside of one that had somehow died and that was fascinating.
The staff is friendly and it never feels over crowded to me.
The train ride is nice and long (15-20 minutes iirc), and educational, but I can see how some folks would pass. Also, fyi, it's not a train on tracks, but rather train cars on wheels.
Linda Stokes
Love this place! We love the train ride, but wish they still did the full loop.
Kaysey Chapman Cisneros
I love this place. It's great to bring kids, walk and enjoy the beautiful landscaping/botanical gardens. I've had a membership for years. My only complaint is that they don't seem to enforce reserved parking for members. The divine cafe is a good place to eat and the staff at the nature exchange are great in engaging kids.
Greg Lewis
Very nice place to spend the day, I'm from out of town and went for Black history month festival was pleasantly surprised on the venue! great for all ages,
Mason Fiascone
Beautiful landscapes and a great escape from the Vegas strip. It felt a bit empty and there was no real guide or help along the way to help enhance the experience, but there are incredible plants, flowers and cacti, definitely worth a visit.
Alexandra Huang
I always love coming to botanical gardens of wherever I am. One of my faves about this place is the self sustaining house!
David M
Museum and attractions were great. Enjoyed train ride and 1905 town.
Cafe had 40 minute wait for dine in and take out. Came back 20 minutes before cafe closed for take out sandwiches. Told NO take out, too late. Then they seated several folks. Figure that out!!! We found out cafe was separate company from museum and leaving in June. Good for museum.
Edson Tan
This place is great! I really enjoyed my time at the Springs Preserve! The wildlife is cool, and all the exhibits are quite interesting. The museums were outstanding, clean, and well kept. There weren't many staff members present throughout the place when I last visited and the butterflies could not be seen despite being within open hours. However, the staff is great and friendly, and some of the areas were closed, it seems, for a legitimate reason. I recommend going with the family. Please, visit the place if you want an excellent, wholesome experience.
Maria Vazquez
Beautiful place, great for an outing. Stop by the Divine Cafe. Good options
Michelle Damron
Roses in bloom, classes are generally free. They are expanding so much. It's a great place to get away in the middle of the city. If the weather permits rent the bikes, there are a lot of interesting stops you dont get to see on the train ride.
Thomas Lingbloom
As American Horticultural Society members the full admission to all sites was 50%. Lots of 'garden rooms' to enjoy. Free parking. Butterfly habitat on the day we visited. Nice Nevada State museum. If you like gardens, this is a good one!
Marcie Parson
We were blown away by the springs preserve. Every time we go we find something new, and I am always pleasantly surprised how kid-friendly it is. My kids are ages 3-6, and they absolutely love it. We’ve been to toddler time, the nature exchange, the jump dog show, the Origen museum, the live animal exhibits, the train ride, and the playground. I highly recommend the nature exchange if your child loves nature — they can bring in nature items to exchange for cool rocks, minerals, shells, and fossils! Ask about it when you check in — it was a little tricky to find, but is always the highlight for my little shell collectors.
Marcus Coleman
COOL spooky exhibits and scary games for kids to play. LOTS OF CANDY. The usual over priced concession stands 😒. …
Eric Drafahl
Good hiking trails... not too crazy or long. Botanical garden section was small, but nice
Betul Erkan
An awesome place to visit with kids!!! We loved the informative movies , attractions, live animal encounters, cactus gardens, boomtown, train ride and many more!!! You can spend 3-4 hours. Cooling stations had water, ice cream, snacks. Kids can learn about the history of las Vegas.
Alexander Angle
This place has a great variety of things to see and do, including a botanical garden, a model 1905 boom town, a dinosaur museum, a delightful restaurant, and an outdoor play area. You'll want to bring some good walking shoes, water, and a hat or sunscreen, since the locations are a bit spread out. The staff is very helpful and friendly, though when I visited the train was out of service (they used a cart to offer transportation instead).
matthew hellmich
You could easily spend all day here, there is something for everyone. The garden is stunning.
Sheila Flood
Museums, nice café, botanical gardens... great place to visit! Something for everyone. Beautifully done, well-signed, lots of information.
Prasenjit Das
Nice place to spend around 3 hrs.. Dog show at 1 pm is awesome
H Gwen
You can see history here. There are so many artifacts from the past. The botanical gardens are great to wander around in. There is something for everyone to enjoy.
Anastasia Pawloski
The most fun outdoor/indoor experience our family can enjoy in the Valley! It is interactive and informative in a way that keeps the kids excited to see what it next!
Kelli jo Weatherford Hall
We had fun. It was more for little kids. There are no scares and no train this years. But my daughter has fun.
Lucy Ouano
Even though it was hot, the inside Museums and displays give a nice break. The geological history of Las Vegas is so important to learn and how we will be able to save our desert.
Joseph Kennedy
I brought my Grandchildren here for their first time.
They really enjoyed the visit and learned about the geology
of the Las Vegas Valley. Energy efficient house was thought
provoking for me.
A nice place to visit.
Jose Romero
Springs preserve has a great hicking trail. The museum is very informative on Nevada's history and people thats fun for the whole family
Chelsea Bhadra
A great place to spend the day! Not only is it really cheap but there are multiple museums, rotating exhibits, and beautiful trails. If you can catch the Butterfly Habitat exhibit I would highly recommend it!
TAMMY
Great place to take the kids. If you love the outdoors ans learning about nature you will love this place. Nice friendly people
Travis Richards
Great family fun! My son loves when the Butterflies are around.
B B
Good place to go see Nevada's history. Also very family friendly and good parking. The ladies at the ticket booth were very kind.
Shaun Williams
Friendly professional staff. Sprawling property. Best sure to check maps well. Museums, meeting rooms, and exhibits much to offer here
Amber Smiley
This s a wonderful place to go. There are a couple museums, numerous trails, and a train that goes around the entire place. There is a lot to see and it is worth going back. They have different events here and some museum exhibits change over time.
Denise Kaiser
I wish they had animals to see like foxes. I saw turtles and snakes. They have some cool stuff in the museums
Michelle Fry
Enjoyed my day walking the beautiful grounds
And visiting the museum
Amy Alligood
Enjoyed the train ride. Disappointed alot closed, including the gift shop and museum.
Brian Numainville
Excellent place to visit outdoors and away from the strip. Botanical gardens and museum are great! Take a tour of the gardens if you can!
Thomas Cooper
First time experiencing butterflies at a state park. Very nice

Fun place to spend the day learning and seeing. Lots of kid activities and hands on.
Victoria Medley
Celebrated my birthday there with my grandchildren and we all had a great time especially on the train ride
Bobbe Wright
If you want to get out of the zoo of Las Vegas this is a great place to visit and see desert landscape, great facility Great architecture.
shannon Burke
I love this place there is plenty of family fun activities to do with or without a pass you pick from a museum to a nice or even lunch.
Brittany Royce-Bradshaw
It's definitely a peaceful place when not packed with people, the train ride is relaxing and knowledgeable about the city and some of Nevadas history and how the town/city came to be. "Grease the train, the constant rubbing of metal every time it hits a bump is rather annoying and painful to the ear..." The old style town is a plus, but wish it was bigger for the experience. The kids play place is ok, the ridiculous bar ropes to climb to the top slide makes it complicated and is not safe for the littler ones. Which kinda sucks, because my kiddo wanted to go down the slide but wasn't able to get all the way up to it. We watched another little girl take a rope to the stomach trying to get up to the top slide. The Cafe being closed on Mondays is also inconvenient, for a first time visit I guess I expected more. I was hoping to see more beauty and greenery, than desert... if I wanted to see a lot of desert, I'd just go off roading. I'm hoping next time will be a better experience for both my kiddo and I since we have 2 years worth of season passes, and hopefully we will be able to experience more while we're there next time. I'll update the review if anything changes.

My advice to you would be to get the annual membership. A day ticket is $10 and the annual membership is $30. They've redone the kids play area and it looks great plus they have new exhibits often that you don't need to pay for. Right now they've set up beautifully for Dia De Los Muertos
Luis Mesquita CharruArt
We went in Dia De Muertos and had a great time the place is very spacious and organized. Next time we will spend the day enjoing the cactus gardens.
Shari Ghiorzi
Went Mothers Day with my 2 granddaughters and my son and daughter. We were disappointed because it was too windy for the butterflies in the habitat so we didn't see many. It was a great day and will definitely be back!
P. Davis
Surprised AND amazed as clearly, a rather hidden gem of So. Nevada for many of us (they need to do BETTER on publicity for this place!) Gardens of ALL kinds utterly superb and environmentally friendly. Nevada Museum outstanding and totally reflective of the entire state.
Lilian Farrow
Super fun place to take the family to kill a few hours. It's cheap and is awesome. But it's a bummer it's 0nly open weekends. So plan ahead for that. Never any lines And if you visit you must try the tram it's super fun.
Imani Johnson
OMG I saw this place across the street from the Meadows mall and always wondered what it was. Let me say this the staff is super nice and I'm on a knee scooter but they made me feel at ease. The train ride was great omg and the museums are great u just have to see for urself please take ur kids they will really enjoy their self's. Can't say anything bad about it.
Tom Fanning
We had a blast. There was only time/energy in the kids for a half day, but we easily could spend multiple days here and come back regularly. Lots to keeps everyone interested. Good amounts of covered/sunny/indoor/outdoor areas for all weather situations.
SJB
This is such a great Vegas resource. The captures the interest of both adults and children
Tim
If you want to get away from the noise and crowds on the strip, this incredible place to visit with kids. The museums are very well done and clean with numerous exhibits covering local prehistoric fossils, current wildlife, indigenous humans, settlers, and they even have a live wildlife mini zoo. Outside there is a large desert botanical garden and a very fun playground for kids.
Garrett McCord
Great place. The restaurant was closed but i hear a new one will be opening by the same owners of Bronze Cafe. The current Bronze cafe on Buffalo has healthy options and is so delicious, love it. Cant wait for their new opening.

Springs Preserve is a well spread out museum that is enjoyable for everyone young or old. There is plenty to see including Boom Town (old Vegas), water works, a hige playground, film exhibits, animas and critters and even a nature walk. You can easily spend a day there and not see everything. Well worth the admission price of under $20.
Nev Poljak
Great place for visitors or residents interested in the history of Vegas and the land it sits on.
Delaney Engle
This pace is beautiful. I went for the Butterfly Exhibit but got to see so much more. Plus the cafe there was awesome.
Yolanda Romero
Perfect place to bring the kids. They get yo have fun, learn and exercise all in one place. We are annual donators. It makes it alot easier for entry and you get VIp free parking.
Arjun Sharma
We visited the Spring preserve in the May and the cacti were blooming radiantly, making this an amazing morning. We also enjoyed the butterfly pavilion. The cafe provided an excellent end to the morning.
Brooke Gantman
I love the Springs Preserve! There is something to do for people of all ages. The Origins Experience is great for kids and pre-teens, and even the adults will enjoy looking at the animal exhibits! There are tons of things to do and learn about, and I guarantee that you will learn a lot of information about our desert while you are there. The volunteers are kind and very informative. The Preserve also has trails and walking areas around the property, which are great to walk on a nice day. There is also a wonderful building with a garbage truck inside (I forgot the name of it) which is a great place to teach kids about environmentally-friendly practices like recycling, renewable energy, and hybrid cars (they even have a Prius on permanent display!)
A picture of grey fox is attached to this review. He/She was about to eat and was on the other side of the enclosure, but when he finished, he came right up to the fence and was about 2 feet away from us!
Five star California
Nice place to get away from the LV Strip. Fresh Air and friendly staff. Plenty of walking space and geared towards exploration and discovery for children 🔥 …
lisahaze100
A place I take my daughter often because she loves it! The crafts, the train, the playgrounds, butterfly habitat and so much more to do there. A great place to spend a day.
Larry Krogel
A wonderful place to walk around. I'm definitely going to become a member
Melinda Muyargas
About $10 per person, $5 for kids. This place has a LOT to see! There's nature trails, two museums (history, and also some fun stuff for kids like the current toy exhibit), a fun playground, a little "train" (trackless) ride, etc. Our 3-year-old really enjoyed it. We spent two hours, and could have spent more time but it was closing.
Traci Friday
Went there for black history month celebration. Had a good day, great entertainment, food and really friendly crowd of people. Will be going back next year!
Lorna
Another jewel in the desert worth exploring in all seasons. The new Boom Town exhibit is a must see.
Gennifer Vega
Great place to let the kids roam, burn energy but also educate on the local animals and flora for the desert! Bought a membership right away. Train ride was fun! Update: Finally went to the museum, and enjoyed it. Some of the exhibits change now and then, always good educational fun.
N P
The Preserve keeps updating and innovating. It's so great to return throughout the years and you know they take care with the presentation and exhibits. I adore the trails, gardens, and all the information I learn every time.
(2022)
The cafe has temporarily closed. It almost seems like they're downsizing the overall experience.
Emily
Beautiful place. Kind staff, and clean trails. The train ride is great if you're interested in the history of the preserve. If you have a child that is not quite smitten with trains, and doesn't enjoy sitting still, the train might not be for you and that's okay. There is a play area for children, and if you keep walking there is a water feature to play on.
Ernest Garcia
We had a wonderful time at the preserve. Dia de la muertos was very beautiful.
Brandon Blakely
Love the place, couldn't dream of ever "spending too much time" here. There's so many things to learn and so many things to do and see here. Also a great charity to donate to if you're looking.
Jazzrel Adams (Whalephat)
Lovely family friendly experience!
Jesse Baker
Had an awesome time with the kiddos. Lots of stuff to do and exihibits regularly change. Got to catch the dog jump show and it was amazing! Full of knowledge and history and make it fun to learn.
Sparkle Blu
If you are a naturist you would love the Spring Prrserve..I never made it past the gate ALLERGIES!!!
Mark Morgan
Awesome gardens! Butterfly garden. Nice place to take the family for a stroll.
Mark Burgess
Amazing place. So much to see and do. Onsite cafe is amazing. Highly recommended 😎 …
Deidre Greene
There’s a lot to do and we didn’t even walk the many trails!
Jordan Berstler
Loved this place! Hopefully returning soon, there was so much to see and since some of the exhibits are seasonal, I missed a few. Loved the art exhibit as well, such talented work!
Edward Steller
Went for Black History Festival there. It was nice and the Preserve was the perfect place for it.
Amanda Swegan
We bought a yearly family pass right before covid shutdown our city. We were unable to go. We went today at 10am. Even though not everything inside is not open It was so much fun. Our kids are 15, 10, 7, & 7. The 3 youngest wanted to move in. It is fun and really educational. All of the staff went above and beyond their duties. I probably took 2000 pics. With our membership we were also allowed to visit the Nevada State Museum which is on location. Since we studied Nevada History last summer the kids were really excited about EVERYTHING in there. We spent so much time reading and discussing things that we almost missed our train ride. We are definitely going to spend as much time as we can at Springs Preserve over the next year. Get your memberships and go exploring at one of our cities best off Strip destinations.
Kimberly Hillyer
Great outing for families. Both inside and outside experience. Great for little kids.
Hailey Palagar
We traveled through Vegas with kids. This was a great place to spend time before we were able to check into our hotel. Especially when considering other attractions in Vegas, this was extremely affordable for our large family. It was extremely clean and had great customer service. I would highly recommend and hope to come back someday. The large toys exhibit was absolutely our favorite. We easily spent four hours there and still weren’t able to make the Nevada State Museum, or the café/gift shop. I was a little bummed to find the butterfly exhibit closed as well as Boomtown. If I could offer suggestion I would say that the train ride which is really a trolley ride, could have more to look at. But glad to see it was not an added fee. A great stop, thank you
Mike Desilvestri
A full day! Museum, hiking trails, garden, and a really great Cafe. Check it out
Bentley Ayres
Very maintained and clean facility. I recommend Springs Preserve to all families. There s alot of history about Nevada and all the culture's.
Perry Mahnke
It was great, when I pulled in with my van & trailer there wasn't an ideal parking spot. I asked one of the grounds workers where I should park & he said follow me as he got on his service vehicle & lead me to a large parking area where they have parking for Rvs & buses.
I definitely recommend visiting Springs Preserve while in Las Vegas, it's a hidden gem!
Lynn Joy
What a lovely experience ⭐⭐⭐🦋🦋🦋 not as great as the Natural History Museum in LA, because that's my favorite place ever. But this was a fun Museum lots to do. I loved the Map …
John Sanchez
This event was superbly done! From all the people volunteering security, event organizers and all the beautiful displays was very enjoyable. The sponsors did an amazing job and the food was awesome. I highly recommend the Springs Preserve any time when open.
vicky pinuelas
Awesome place for family of all ages. I went to see the memorial/ tribute honoring my brother Thomas Turner Aka superman and the other minors who dedicated 7 years of their lives to drill under the Hoover dam to bring i n water to southern Neveda
marlin seevers
The plant identification was pretty good. The history museum was very interesting.
The dog show for the children was entertaining.
It was very clean and we'll organized.
L GN
There's so much to do, you could probably go there multiple times! Give yourself time to do everything, if you choose to. Also, some of the exhibits do change, so there's always something to see. Everything is spread out, so I'd recommend wearing shoes to be comfortable. We can't wait to go again!
Laura Smith
We love going here with the family. It's got stuff to keep everyone interested.
Susan Clark
Loved this place, interesting to see so many different cactus 🌵
Jean Wilson
I used to volunteer there when I first moved to Las Vegas over 20 years ago.
I have been in love with this place historical ever since. So whenever they're having events and my schedule allows, I will always come to this wonderful place Springs Persevere ❤️
D Melpolder
Great botanical gardens, Nevade state museum, wonderful cafe, some covered parking spaces, lots of trails, and a 1905 Boomtown representing early Las Vegas. There is a train to ride but numerous school groups had reserved.
TAC AUGUST
So many things to do so little time. Highly recommended (on weekdays when not so busy).
Take a day off your LV casino trip and come here instead. $10 entrance fee is worth it.
Look for Cindy's garden where she gives an excellent lecture on using wet log as foundation to better gardening including how to make seed envelopes. She also talks about the crops she grows personally at the sight
Hashtag Hemmeter
this is a great place to take kids. they can play interactive educational games, learn about our environment, and about conservation.
Joshua Segal
So much to see! The fox is so cute!!! The flash flood water exhibit is cool too!
Kylie Arias
We loved the dinosaur exhibit and all the thing they host at the preserve! Such a wonderful wholesome place to take the kids!
Ethan Featherstone
Excellent half-day family excursion. We have been members for most of the last five or six years and keep going back. The staff is unusually plentiful and typically quite friendly and helpful. The gardens are well done and well cared for. The activities for kids are good-there is a variety of seasonally changing exhibits, and the seasonal butterfly museum is enjoyable. The animal shows, when they have them, are okay, but the people running their shows put their heart into it. We miss the bird show they used to do. The updated children's playground is great but can get busy. The fast-casual restaurant is not so fast but decent-we go there less now due to price increases.
The desert architecture of the buildings is interesting and could not have been cheap. They focus on environmental consciousness and energy conservation in many of their exhibits, one of which includes a demonstration home.
There is ample space to explore if it gets crowded during an event - the outer reaches of the gardens receive less traffic and there are pleasant trails in the unlandscaped area where most people don't go.
This is not akin to a children's museum in that the activities are less concentrated; the museums and exhibits are spread out over a few buildings among nicely landscaped desert areas. Expect to walk. Since much of the Preserve is about being outdoors, summer can be a challenge unless you go right when it opens.
Some of the areas and exhibits get old and worn down, or just do not operate properly due to age and use. There have been some repairs and remodeling; by and large, it is well maintained. The Origen is where they regularly change out exhibits.
The Halloween event is great but crowded. The Christmas train event this year was excellent because it was so well staffed and organized-they only took a limited number of people at a time and moved us as a small group through various activities at a time. My kids had their best Santa experience ever-it was private and the Santa took the time to talk to each of my kids. It was well worth it.
Overall, I gave it five stars for its value as a member despite some shortcomings.
*** Update ***
The children's playground has been updated and is much improved. It still has the old sand pit with the mammoth skeleton to climb, but now it has a large play set that is much taller and more advanced than the typical park play set.
Mat Ishmael
They had new attractions and all the staff was really nice!
Rhoda Bowman
Great place for family or alone. Lots of trails and beautiful plants to view at a leisurely pace. The museum is for the next trip.
Jay Man
This is a great place for families and kids. The indoor exhibits change several times a year and always entertain my 1st grader. The seasonal butterfly habitat is a real treat.
John Robinson
This is a great place to spend the day! I definitely recommend going on cooler days, as you will be outdoors most of the time. Lots of fun things for kids and adults alike! I love the museums.
Katy Johnson
The staff and volunteers are always incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. My family has never had a negative experience here - it's one of our favorite places to visit in town. The ever-changing exhibits are perfect for my young homeschooler and the adult only events are just as awesome. Every exhibit is well laid out and put together with great care. The grounds always look spectacular and as a member, I always feel like I'm getting a great deal. The restaurant is even really awesome and has a great brunch!
Katy Pascual
Very good place to go and enjoy with kids. Many things to do. My daughter favorite was the Butterfly Habitat, unfortunately is seasonal and it will close on Nov 22nd. Her second favorite was the Toytopia excibition with many toys to play with, she didn't want to leave. She also loves the train ride and the playground. We couldn't visit the whole Origin Museum and State Museum which have a lot of interesting information about where we live. We had lunch at the Divine Cafe and the food was great, pricy for me but the kids menu is afforrdable and with great quality. We had a blast and the kids didn't want to leave. I highly recommend this place, an Oasis in the desert.
Crystal Miller
Beautiful place! Recommend it for sure! I am from out of town and wanted a non Las Vegas thing to do and this fit the bill!
Veronica Kosanovich
Great experience here. Definitely recommend in the cooler months. Lots to do outdoors, so keep that in mind when its 90* and up. Butterfly exhibit is fun with the family, playground, revolving exhibits. Kids love the flash flood display. Very educational for certain age groups. Definitely would recommend dining at the cafe. The cafe would make a great date night dinner date too with its tasty menu and incredible view/outdoor dining.
Joseph Pak
I love this place 😁 The staff are friendly, the garden walk is beautiful, and they have a lot of great exhibits from prehistoric to modern Nevada. I love the animals too, the tortoises & fox are my favorites. I wish they had more animals but I understand this is not a zoo. …
Wylonda Bernstein
Very nice, cost less than$10, not crowded & I enjoyed the train ride very informative for a newby to the area! You must come supplied to stay hydrated in order to enjoy the entire nature preserve. The train conductor/dept supervisor says its better in the Fall!!!
P Dub
The staff can be more knowledgeable, helpful and cognizant of the needs of their guests. If you see Parents with four kids 3 and under, going to the museum is probably not the best option for us even though inside with AC. Maybe the park or water pad, which we found on our own, they did not recommend. They also didn't recommend for us to download their app which was really helpful on getting around the Preserve. Lot of exhibits are closed due to COVID. They do have a train. They just have some weird staff and interactions. We do want to go back once the closed exhibits are open again and give another try since we have map etc.
Aden
The springs preserve is a pretty epic place, not even gonna lie. I've been going there since I was a wee lad, some of my earliest memories are from there. Its still the same amazing place that I remember. The museum is really cool, now that I'm older I know alot more about cacti and I noticed some very rare cacti there which I thought was pretty cool, the museum was pretty epic. The food place food was quite good, but a tad bit over priced but it's still good. I like what they've done with the place. They did have some things closed off because of covid but thats to be expected in a museum type place, Its amazing for adults and kids alike. The animals are pretty cool, the fox was pretty bussin. My kids really enjoyed the interactive parts of the place, needless to say I highly recommend. So in conclusion, this is a true 5 star review, the restaurant is the only thing I wouldn't rate 5 starts but that's okay, the other stuff makes up for it, like the botanical garden type stuff, that had a very nice vibe to it, so come one, come all to the best nature sight in the city of sin
PlatinumRoseEnt
Beautiful and well-designed areas with interesting displays. Go and explore!
Cameron Bozarth
Pretty cool place. A little dryer then I thought it would be but has some nice green areas.
Colony Cogan
Butterfly exhibit was closed which was disappointing. Most of the animals didn't come out probably because they're nocturnal which is not the museums fault. I liked how clean and beautiful this place was very peaceful.
Matthew Asai
There's a lot to see and do there. There's a solar house, botanical garden, butterfly habitat during the fall and spring, boomtown, waterworks and two museums. There is also a train ride that goes through the preserve. Be sure to wear a comfortable shoes it's a big park.
Steven Picker
Hidden gem, nice hiking trails, historic points of interest, rock sound stage, museum and playground
Corey Rink
Wonderfully beautiful place! A natural gem in the middle of the city.
Amy McNeill
Awesome place, loved learning about the history of Las Vegas. Beautiful gardens.
Karen Shuffield
It was nice and the staff were helpful but most things are still closed.
LL Cool M
Fell in love at our first visit and became members. There's a ton to do and see. We love the trails and enjoyed access to the museum. I especially like the historical aspect. Looking forward to the water works opening again someday.
Nadia Medina
Great way to spend a day so much to see! But the little fox was my favorite!!
Skip
My family loves coming here. It is a must every time we visit Las Vegas. My wife and kids love the gardens and the butterflies. I like learning more about desert living and the animal exhibits.
jenn jessup
Incredible place to spend with the family. We'll be back.
Eternalfriday
Incredible top notch facility there is so much to do that you might as well become a member and plan on going back several times. I'm not a Nevada resident yet this place helped me make my decision to become one.
Jae Forsythe McCabe
What a beautiful hideaway! Flora and fauna galore, mixed with natural history and Vegas history. You'll want to come early and make this a full day experience. Wear your walking shoes and bring hydration. Definitely a hidden Las Vegas gem.
T K
The staff went above and beyond to help out my family. First time to this place and we didn't know you needed to get a time slot reservation to ride the train. The lady at the train check-in and the ticket counter supervisor went out of their way to help get my lil toddler on that train. Big thanks to the staff for accommodating us so quickly.
Great place to visit, get some fresh air, stretch your legs walking around, learn the local history, and get your kiddies involved in fun learning activities. Will be getting the membership to return often!
Genia B
Our family enjoy the ice cream event i hope they throw one next yr
Matthew Wagoner
Cute little place I forget exists. Love their nature exchange and walks here during the cooler months. Exhibits are always nice. Even their restaurant is cute and good
Shayler gheen
It's a great place for the kids to go out on hikes and check out the Wildlife Museum venues gift shop and more
Samantha Mackenroth
As a child growing up in Las Vegas I LOVED Springs Preserve! It still holds that nostalgic feeling as an adult too. Of the nature attractions in Las Vegas SP is top tier and has been for years. I wish that there were more places like it.
Gary Kreinheder
Enjoyed our second trip as much as our first. Still haven't seen it all. Beautiful settings and wonderful museums.
Wendy Z
Love Springs Preserve all year round! I only wish they would add photography classes to their line up.
James Newton
A bit sad, but still worth a visit. Needs a bit of fixing up in a few places, but you do end up with a great education about the history of Vegas and the water, plants, and animals of the area. Especially the water. That should be of greater interest to "bags of mostly water" don't you think?
christopher sheridan
I was really excited to visit the place having had moved to Nevada and starting a family. We got there and sections of the park look abandoned and closed down. I'm blaming a large part of that on the Pandemic but it is Sept 2021. The Origen and the State Museum are nice additions to your ticket price. The live animals mustve all been put away accept for a select few and the train wasn't running due to heat. It was only high of 95 today.
Jennifer Abbott
Beautiful grounds and wonderful example of the original natural zone. Both the 10 yo and 13 yo had fun.
Wendy K
Had the best time. My kids love it here!
Christian Ayala
The springs preserve is great! We visited with children (3 and 10) and they had lots of fun. They have rotating exhibits which are always cool. The butterfly exhibit was awesome.
Danette Vick-Groover
Great place to beat the heat with indoor kids exhibits education mixed with fun!
Alix A2
Beautiful gardens, excellent origins museum highly recommend for a relaxing and educational experience!
M. P
It was ok. We went during a really hot day and close to closing time so the lady made sure to tell us where we can go and what's still open. It was decent but it was mostly cacti and some floral plants. I would enjoy it more had it not been the heat and most everything being closed.
Natalia Pajak
Get out of the hotel and go enjoy some beautiful Las Vegas Nature 😋 …
Rebecca Ribaudo
Food at the cafe was really good and the portions were a good size for your money. It has so many interesting things to see and do. Very good place to take your kids!! My granddaughter loved it and she's 2 1/2. Can't wait until the butterfly section opens up in 2 months!
Stan Woods
Springs Preserve is what public parks should be like everywhere. They had access, customer service, entertainment, education, REALLY friendly and knowledgeable staff. I would encourage anyone, especially if you have children, to make this a mandatory stop when you're in Las Vegas.
Rick Virmani
Great food at the Springs Cafe
Sheree S
I haven’t been during the spring, but there wasn’t anything special and I hope that that changes because this could be such a special place. The botanical garden is a small strip, so I walked around and then visited their big science playroom, which is definitely for kids....which is fine with me. I went by myself to make sure it was a place for kids, before paying for all three of mine.
I think it’s a fine place for a field trip, there was a field trip when I went last year. Nice but small outing for locals so I really hope they can add more activity and gardens because the potential for this place is endless.
Jared Baird
This place is great. There is a lot to do and it's a good escape from the busy Vegas surroundings. When you get out on the trails you really forget you are in a city. Also the landscaping and design is beautiful. There are lots of great activities for little Kids as well. The memberships are also a great deal. I felt that in 3 hours we only saw about half the park, and we will frequent about half that area more than the occasional stop in. So that's a pretty good estimate of all the things to do there. We really liked it. I look forward to going lots more!
Dalyn Tardy
My family and I visited this past week and really enjoyed our visit (despite the 111 degree heat!). There were educational presentations that were engaging and informative (a flash flood encounter, train car, auction area, and much more). If it were cooler we would have walked around the large area - this time we opted to ride the train and the narrated tour was awesome!
Jacqueline Z
We love coming to see the new exhibits, playing on the new playground, visiting the critters outside, wandering the trails, learning a ton while having fun, and eating at the cafe. There's always a day full of activities to do and we find ourselves spending hours there without noticing. It keeps my young children interested and engaged along with my husband and I. We try to renew our family membership every year and take advantage of the discounts for the special events that are so much fun. I highly recommend this gem in our desert as a refreshing, self guided escape from the city for families.
Mark Leighton
Nice little nature walk, with beautiful gardens a few little musems!
Jimmy Lam
It's always a fun time here with lots to see and explore. The badge program at the nature exchange is great for elementary school kids, and probably older kids if they are interested. The various exhibits are fun and educational. You can take a break at the outdoor playground and cool off at the Water Works exhibit. You could easily spend a nice day here.
If you're a local or plan on a return trip, there is no reason not to get a membership here. Depending which one you opt for, you can easily recoup the cost. Be sure to stop by the Divine Cafe. The lines are long for a reason; the food is fantastic here and I remembered saying to myself that I would come back for a lunch here if nothing else. Plus, you can eat on their balcony, which has a great panoramic view of the Vegas skyline. Overall, a great gem of a place in the middle of the valley.
Kathi Meci
Really enjoyed my visit here today, despite the 107º temperature. The train ride was especially informative and every employee I interacted with was courteous and helpful. I've lived in LV for many years and I learned a lot about the history. Imagine - all because of The Springs! This is a great place for people of all ages, but not in the heat! Will definitely go back in the cooler weather.
Arthur Cammers
This place gives you a good minimalist long-term history of Las Vegas-- the good and the bad in its development into today's metropolis.
Pedro Contreras
Everything is very interesting and amazingly well maintained. Pedro|contreras

Nice place to get away from the LV Strip. Fresh Air and friendly staff. Plenty of walking space and geared towards exploration and discovery for children

Nice staff, peaceful, great placecto decompress & walk around.

This place is great if you'd like to learn about the local history, plants, wildlife, and conservation efforts. They have a rotating exhibit in addition to extensive walking trails with historic sites and a shorter walking path through their gardens.
Perfect to bring kids because they can definitely wander around.
The Nevada State museum is right next door too.
Springs preserve is definitely worth visiting. A hidden gem!
c Anderson
This was our first year at the Haunted Harvest, we had an excellent time ... Well worth the 9 a ticket to enter. $40 on 2 light up necklaces for our kids. $16 on a goodie bag of cookies and a brownie.
Larry Crites
Very nice and interesting garden and museum. Thoroughly enjoyed learning the history of the area as well as the animals and plants. A must see.
Adelina Vongpanya
Haven't been here in years. It was a nice day to spend time with all the kids. Lunch at the Divine Cafe was gourmet food from their open kitchen.
Tara Schy
This place is a tribute to Las Vegas and Nevada as a whole. It has a long path you can walk along that educates you on the local flora as well as two museums and an outdoor area full of habitats of local wildlife. There's a lot of fun things to see and do and quite a few interactive exhibits. My husband and I enjoyed it a lot and we don't have children but I definitely recommend you bring your kids too!
Murielle Georges
My friend got married here at the botanical gardens. The weather was perfect. Next time I'll tour the reserve.
Wynndy Johnson
Always discover something new. Love the Nevada State Museum so much! Definitely worth seeing, over and over again.
Emily McGaver
Lovely natural history museum and grounds. The botanical gardens were by far my favorite feature as the flowers just filled the air with fragrance. Nice play ground for the kids. Lots to learn and explore here. The 'train' was a bit squeaky, but it was not badly priced. It was a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the rest of Vegas and great to be outside on a beautiful day. Definitely recommended!

Check online for times. Open mon fri sat and sun til 4pm. Clean and wonderful place to go for a walk with the family. Free parking. EV parking by M & N areas. Great place for fam day. Will be back.
Michael Beauregard
Beautiful, interesting place right in the middle of Vegas. A nice retreat from busy Vegas. Lots of kid friendly activities. My mother loved all the plant life in the botanical gardens. In the animal section, our favorite was the fox. Cafe was delicious. Really good impossible burgers. We ended up buying a year long membership to the preserve because it was a better deal for our family of five. Parking was easy. Everything is wheelchair accessible throughout the park. All the staff were really nice. Happy and knowledgeable. Place is a maze, but there are maps available and a free app.

What a great place to visit! Tons of activities for all ages. And a super reasonable entry fee.
Richard Poirier
Had no idea how much there was to do here. Had a great day with my love.
G Foook
Nice and chill, away from the hustle and noise... albeit for only a few hours... loved it

We love this place and get a membership each year. This is such a great place to take the kids! There is a little playground to break up seeing all the cool stuff. Membership also gets you discounts on things like the butterfly exhibit and train rides. Thursdays have Toddler Time at 11 which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Heaven ;-;
Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures but the park was extremely clean, and the staff were very kind! I actually a lot of the exibits are unfortunately closed off due to covid, but there's still a lot to see like the outside animals, the giftshop, and all their gardens as well as their sustainable house which was built by a group of students!
Melicia McMichael
Amazing! Great for All ages!
Indoor and outdoor activities and an amazing indoor restaurant with lots of outdoor seating. Overall a wonderful place!
David Harper
Beautiful, welcoming, and warm staff. Three miles of walking trail, also the end of the Neon to Nature hike that originates at the Cultural Corridor Trail, including, The Mob Museum. I arrived early at the trail, my first thought, "I bet it's beautiful (the sound) when it rains here." I consider the rain a four leaf clover, and to be caught in the rain at, Springs Preserve, would be divine. Arriving early, the colors of the nature trail change throughout the day. SO many possibilities with two-hundred eighty-eight acres. Difficult to take it in in one trip. Nearby's, the historic Winchell's.
¡Muchas gracias, Spring Preserve!
Mercedes Salcedo
The premium membership is well worth it, there is so much to do and the trails are beautiful. My kids love it.
Jay France
Really cool place in Vegas. Great for kids, too!
Pamela Addie
Lots of ancient history, natural history and walking paths. Best exhibit - the flash flood. Stay inside when it's hot outside in the 2 museums. You'll need a half day minimum.
Whitney Phillips
So much to do! We have had a season pass for 3 years and still haven't seen everything! Great place to take the kids any time of the year! Lots of indoor activities for the hot summer days, and beautiful outdoor activities for the cooler days. They also have tons of special events that never disappoint
Baby Girl
Love this place full of life and very peaceful i wish they would have some things to look at on the choo choo but overall clean , and very pretty place to go alone or w family n friends
Allegra Chambers
There is a lot to do at Springs Preserve, too much to do it all in one day. The museums are perfectly designed to appeal to kids and teach some good lessons - I can't imagine a more entertaining sustainability exhibit, it's probably not possible. The gardens are lovely, sight, smell, sound and feel. Plenty of shade. The playground is great. The cafe serves actually really good food that's not too too expensive. We didn't have a chance to see the small animals. I'd love to go back and rent a bike to ride on the trails.
Eme Cee
Went here for a staff meeting and a 1k 5k race for work. It is beautiful and a great place to bring your kids. Can't wait to go back to check out the butterfly habitat
Roger Owens, REALTOR
Was not as good this year. Park at Meadows Mall and walk to site.
Wait an hour in line to go though metal detectors then less sponsors with candy for kiddos for visual entertainment- which is nice but the little one want to trick or treat-big disappointment!
Esther Martin- Mary Kay Beauty Consultant
It was a very nice walk with my family.
Dan Martinez
Had a daddy-son day with my 2 year old here who had a blast! Moving from the main area to the butterfly sanctuary is a little frustrating (I've been twice and still can't find my way).
The restaurant here needs a lot of work. Given the price, I expected more from the main dishes. The staff were generally friendly and the views were awesome. A very modern interior for sure.

Had a fun time at the dinosaur exhibit and Nevada State Museum. Great place to take your entire family and learn a lot about Nevada. One of my favorite interactive sections was the flashflood theatre. My son loved the dinosaurs. All is priced well if you are a local make sure you show your ID for a discount. Just wish the cafe was open til 4.
Robert Drake
A great place for a day with the family! Lots of birds too,if you're into that.
Abraham Vallejo (The dude)
Great place to get your steps in. Depending on what time of year you go they have different things. This year we say the dinosaur exhibit and it was pretty cool. They were animated and great to see the in the springs preserve. Take water and snacks on your walk because it's a pretty big preserve.
Pam Martin
My adult daughter & I went to spend the day. We took our time to enjoy all of the interactive displays. The desert garden was one of our favorites.
There were live animals there for a featured show. We enjoyed the information for them & even pet a snake (boa) for the first time.
Very educational in a fun environment!
We visited last summer & after 5 hours still didn't get through everything. When we went this summer, it was to see other features we'd missed.
We lived this place! We recommend to all ages!
Amy Struckus
We visit a few times a year. It is an affordable educational family friendly day trip. The Cafe food is awesome!
carl wimmer
Very cool place. Educational as well. We only saw a small portion of the whole property but it was very clean and maintained. Will be coming back for the rest as well as the butterflies when season is here.
Conrad Reimer
Very nice historical park in the center of the city. Good restaurant open fur lunch. Nevada museum. Nice "Train" rides (actually a vehicle with rubber tires on a concrete path)
William Snell
Unexpected gem in Las Vegas. Great place for both kids and adults.
Coach “Coach Casey” Casey
We love this place. We come for the exhibits but also lunch at Devine cafe. The butterfly’s are amazing.
Danon Hassall
Beautiful. The museum's were not open due to covid, but it was nice being outside and walking around. Loved the free 30 minute train ride/tour. Boomtown was really well done. A great place to visit with children. Inexpensive and fun
Juan Vazquez
Nice place to eat inside and very beautiful plants natural to the area. Kind of lackluster in comparison to other nature preserves and I visited while the origin museum lobby was under construction which was kind of a let down since I remember it being very beautiful as well. Nice well kept park, just dont expect to have the time of your life walking around.
Heather Dawn Broomhall
Very nice place to grab lunch and take a short hike in the middle of town. The gardens are nice and the museums are a great learning experience for children. They keep building and making improvements so it keeps getting better. Also I like that they don't hassle you for bringing a dslr camera. You need to gain photography permissions if you use a tripod but again it's not a big hassle like many places are. Great middle of town "escape" definitely try it out!
Tuesday Taylor
We had a great time and always do. We love all of the exhibits year after year.
Marc Carey
Base level member, about 3 years. If you live nearby, get a family pass for the year. You still have to pay to get into events, but other days it's free - 2 museums, animal exhibits, trails, and discounted admission to butterfly habitat in season. Nevada State museum is small, but very good (excellent fossils and mining artifacts). Origen Museum is where the travelling exhibits are, some are good, some are underwhelming. Take a walk along the paved trails, you might see a hawk! Events are cool, but pricey. Of course the site's architecture is eye catching, and has excellent garden.
Skoty
beautiful, well kept, nice long trails.
E-MAN GAMING
The Springs Preserve offers a lot! We've been here many different times through many years. It never gets old! The change exhibits often. There is ongoing hands on fun. I enjoy the outdoor gardens and nature. It's especially more fun when you go during special events.
Candace Billups
Beautiful place. I loved the butterfly exhibit.
Anita Maxwell
They have a beautiful view.. Great food and a friendly staff ☺ I will definitely go back !!
Matthew Hanson
Absolutely love this place my kids do too everything about it's amazing I love learning about new things It's a great little get away from the city
Heather Nicholson
It's undergoing renovations right now, but this place is great for adult dates (if history, nature, or one of the touring exhibits is your thing) and kids alike. I'd definitely say going during the summer heat will be a little miserable as most of the kid's activities are outside and walking the vast grounds isn't as enjoyable as the cooler months. I've always liked the traveling exhibits they bring in, they are well executed and normally cover really interesting topics for both kids and adults. The las Vegas history part is also well done and fun. My kids have always loved the flash flood interactive exhibit and they make almost everything hands on and not just plaques you read. There are some desert animals, an old Town for kids to build, sand pits for excavating and other seasonal attractions for butterflies, Halloween, Christmas etc. The cafe is also really good and reasonably priced. They offer vegan and gluten free options and a beautiful view.
David Petrocco
One of our favorite places to go for family time. Lots of things to see and do, inexpensive and the food up in the Cafe is fantastic.
Gess
I was very disappointed that I drove 20+ minutes away to come here for the Butterfly Habitat and finding out after paying and going inside that it's only a seasonal thing during the warmer climate. I thought it would be an indoor habitat given the heat here in Las Vegas. Also, they should place this very important piece of information on the website that the Habitat is closed. So, spending all that money was pretty much a waste of money. We did go to the Museum that showcased the hoover dam and it's history and things about Nevada. They had some wildlife animals outdoors but most of the exhibits didn't seem to have any there?
Very disappointed. However, staff were all very friendly and place was very clean. There is a gift shop that was a decent size. There is also a cafe as well. The grounds is very large. There is another Museum on property as well however we didn't go there for time-related reasons.
Jonathan Linn
This is a wonderful place. They always have great traveling exhibits. My kids really enjoy the great playground and train. The exchange in the gift shop is the best experience for curious kids. The lady that works there is the most patient person ever.
Anna Alonzo
Very nice and relaxing. There are shows for children and adults to enjoy at certain times. There is a train trip for a small fee. The Nevada museum is very historical and has many facts and artifacts that ate unique. This place is educational and every season thet is a different theme. Fossils are very interesting and there is a good balance of inside and outside activities and things to do. The fox is nice to see when it is awake. The animal show was very nice tomorrow is the last day. Plenty of restrooms and the gift shop was very cute.
Annie David
I love going here! Great for all members of the family!
Kramer _B
The property is great for families and the staff is great! They really make you feel welcomed and they all seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs there. Can’t wait to bring my family back again once COVID is over to explore more things they have to offer. 5/5 stars easy.
Rocky Parton
What a great place to take your kids. Highly recommend. Clean and safe. Learned some history too.
Tina Tili
My family and I just left springs preserve and had fun at the haunted harvest event. It was ONLY $8 which included admission, games, corn maze, petting zoo, face art, trick or treat candy stations and more! We didn’t get to ride the train ride which was $5 per person and the food was pricey but all in all it was an awesome experience, no complaints at all from babies to kids to teens to adults. Thank you SP Team!

I love this place. I have the membership you get so much in one place it gives you something different to do each time the museum is great. And the playground is huge. Exhibits change every couple of weeks always something new my kids love it. Definitely recommend.
David Wittlich
Beautiful! Can't wait to go back again!
Romina Pacheco
We only had one hour to explore this place. I told that to the woman at admissions and she gave us free passes to explore the grounds (mostly the trails and gardens) so we would have a better sense of the place for next time we visited with more time. Even though it was during late fall and not as lively I imagine it could be during the spring/ summer, we really enjoyed our walk. My daughter had a great time in the playground (great for older kids, but also with options for younger ones). The place was bigger than I expected. I'm hoping to go back next time I'm in Las Vegas.
Joe Tate Sr (mrjoetate)
Cool place. We purchased a membership. They have extremely low number of shaded/mist places while walking around and it's really easy to get lost. Highly recommend avoiding on hot days, which is like 1/3 of the year. If they had better heat management (even a couple more drinking fountains or a kiosk that sold water besides the gift shop) would have 5 stars.
Diana Mora
Our first visit was incredible! All the staff members made this an amazing experience, every staff was attentive & friendly. My 3 year old had so much fun can’t wait to come back!
