Exceptionally friendly and supportive host. The camping sites are specious and nicely located in a beautiful pine forest. On the not so good side, trails are not marked. The park admin blames visitors for stealing markings. The sink in the men's restroom could be cleaned. Some maps are useless. Pay a first grader $10 and she will do a better job.
Lori Cope
Camped here in an RV with full hookups for 3 nights. Well maintained by very nice hosts. Bathrooms are super clean with a nice shower. Sites are spacious although you will need some leveling.
Brian Burzynski
This was a really, really nice park. I originally stayed at the park to meet a friend in town and go to dinner, but after being there a bit, I told my friend to grab something to throw on the grill and come to the park. It was quiet, clean, peaceful, and beautiful. Bathrooms and shower facilities were nice too.
Carolyn Larson
I camped there November 19th and 20th of 2021 with my two dogs and my cat. I had the best time. The park is beautifully kept and clean. The restrooms are cleaned on a routine basis. My dogs and I took long walks through the woods and were in awe of the beauty we got to see and it’s right on Lake Conroe! Otherwise, we were lounging around outside at my campsite taking in the sunshine and the perfect view of the lake. Everyone I met was friendly and kind. I will definitely go back.

Very clean park. We didn't use bathrooms because we had full hook ups. Host cleaned off the site pads and firepits. Nice people. Trails in the park and boat ramp. Not much cell service though.
Lance Larson
Stayed 2 nights 3/9-11/23 at sites 40 and 42. $30 a night.
These were Beautiful sites. The park looked Amazing. Lots of shade from Huge trees. Nice fire pits and uncovered picnic benches. Lots of Bees! Flies and few mosquitoes buzzing around.
Hosts readily available. Place was very quiet, mostly older crowd. Kids could ride bikes around the loop. Septic hookup at the site. Wide, fairly level asphalt parking area. Can accommodate up to 42 ft trailers. Restrooms were at each end of our loop and were clean but ready for a makeover. San Houston National forest. About 3 miles of trails. Fantastic place to fish. No swimming area. Bring a boat... Very popular public boat ramp visible from camp site. Really enjoyed our stay here
Sol Barreda
Really nice trails along the water. Park was relaxing and a great place to get away without having to drive too far away from the city
Bonnie Stanley
Beautiful views of the water. Very peaceful. Nice hiking paths through woods. Large sites and very affordable. They have 2 camping loops. Be sure to indicate which one you wish, as only the larger one has the lake views.
Richard Edward Streine
Camp host is a great guy! This place has electricity, sewer & fresh water and showers if your RV doesn't have one!
L McCoy
Great place to launch your boat, camp, and fish from the bank.
Richard Carter
Nice park, but close quarters. Hard to catch anyone at the gate. Finally had to order senior pass on-line.
Manasa Hegde
Beautiful place! The campground is lush green with tall trees and lots of shade. We pitched 2 4 person tents comfortably and there was still a lot of room. It is a pet friendly campsite. You can pull in your car/ vehicle right in front of your campsite. There is water supply and RV hookup. Toilet and shower areas are pretty clean with light but watch out for smaller insects.
Dennis Hitt
Great area at the North End of the lake. Fishing was decent, and the area was well kept and easy to access. Great campsites and facilities..
Rick McKee
Wonderful National Recreation Area in the Sam Houston National Forest near Montgomery.. virtually abandoned Monday Tuesday and Wednesday.. After that I suggest that you get reservations online via the National Park Service. If you're senior you can use the golden pass to stay for $19 a night if you are in an RV. day passes only five bucks or free if you are a senior. The sites back right up to the lake in some places and you can swim or float in a pristine area that looks like something from Jurassic Park with moss hanging down from the trees and massive Oaks and Pine covered with squirrels and migratory Birds. We watched a pair of eagles catching fish in the lake several hours. There is a boat dock and launch area with a large parking lot. The weekends are packed and reservations are required if you want an RV site. The trails which were damaged by Hurricane Harvey are now open. Make sure and bring cash because sometimes the front entry Gatehouse is closed.. at that point you will have to pay either by check or cash putting it into an envelope and then depositing that into a large metal box after tearing off a paper proof of payment tag, attaching that to the wooden post at the front of your campsite.. there is no firewood for sale and most of the wood has been picked up by campers and burned I suggest that you bring a bundle or two of firewood if you want to have a campfire. just down the road is the ranger station which has lots of free maps and information about the other trails in the Sam Houston National Forest Area. We backpacked on the Lone Star Trail which crosses nearby.. into areas where there were no sounds except coyotes at night and the never ending sound of incessant crickets and whippoorwills. . the park restrooms are clean and there are no vending machines are ice machines so you need to bring your own substance..enjoy !

It's so relaxing here. It's nice to be in nature, camping, and it feels really safe. The bathroom facilities are just kind of meh, but they're pretty well maintained so nothing feels gross.
Nichola Morrison
Fantastic trip. We camped at the campground for 3 nights. There are trails for walking. The boat dock is decent. There were many people here fishing morning and evening. Bathrooms were clean and camp hosts do a good job at staying attentive. We took our boat out for a trip for lunch on the lake at a sail up restaurant. Unfortunately we did hit an unforeseen tree stump and our boat is currently being repaired at a boat shop. Definitely watch out for that. The OHV trails are about 15 min away. I'd suggest making sure your OHV have flags because it is hard to see oncoming vehicles.

I recommend The 'north kayak loop' in Lake Conroe starting from the Cagle Area but not along the week end because of too many boats, noise and waves. Descending the lake till the bridge of Calvary road, it offers your beautiful landscapes as well as paddling back to the north on the est side. Reaching back your starting point crossing the cane thicket in the the sunset is a must; colors are so warm and reach that you can't forget that view.
Ryan Snowley
Peaceful 2 mile hike along the water, plus really great camping! Big spots for RVs on concrete slabs with full hook ups.
Haskell Paden
Always a great week of relaxing and nature. The host are helpful, checking with us daily to make sure our stay is everything we expect. This is mainly a great place to fish and the boat launch is one of the best on the lake. Recent burn makes it look bare, but the new growth is already turning green.
Connie Fritsche
Large camping areas. Small and quiet park by Lake Conroe.
Chris Aldridge
A slice of wilderness. While I was there I seen a deer, black, brown and red squirrels and of course lots of bugs lol was surprised not seeing any snakes.
carina mtz
Love camping here! The people who take care of this place are awesome and nice just like the other campers! We will come back soon it was fun and can't wait to make more memories and new adventures at this place! =)
P.S thank you Mr. Brandon who helped us the first night we were trying to set our tent and let us borrow his extension cord and light, we really appreciate it =)
Mike Swafford
It's a nice State Park has plenty of room between the campsites and I recommended little over an hour from Houston
Jackie Bundens
We always have a good experience camping at Cagle. Full hookups for RVs. Nice bathrooms with shower. Spacious lots with shade. Public boat ramp on site. Friendly and helpful park hosts too.
ming Xu
We had a great time over there during MLK weekend, wish we can stay longer. Staffs are very friendly and attended to our needs. Spacious and quiet campground and a lot of trees (but not too dense). The tent pad is flat and filled with round gravel (not like the other one that is sharp and may damage the tent). Plenty of dead trees in the woods for your fire pit. The bathroom is very clean. Walking distance to boat launching ramp and fishing. Different trails fit your needs. We will definitely come back.
Update: We are going back next week!
Joel Barlow
We did some tent camping and got rained on but was still fun. The kids enjoyed their learning experience. 7 days in the forest was awesome!
Juan Delgado
Great for hiking, biking, and fishing. Great boat and camping sites. A nice get away ! Close to home!( if you live kn thw houston area)
Abby Green
This is apparently a pretty popular place. We reserved our spot about a month in advance and there were only a couple spots available. The loops are small. Groups camping together and dogs are common. The lake is beautiful. The host was friendly. Clean bathrooms. Nice trails.
John
We had halloween there in 2020, people there r nice and peaceful. The grill and firepit r combined, very efficient. Hot shower supplied, u can borrow axe, cart, almost any kinds of tool to chop firewood from host. My 3 years daughter had tons of fun there
Rosy Mendoza
Beautiful atmosphere relaxing camp grounds perfect weekend or week get way from the city noise😍💓❤️💓 …
Haley Rae
Beautiful.. public boat launch. 5$ fee for boat launch and day use. The campgrounds were closed when we were there on 5/30/20... but theres plenty of shore line around the boat ramp for fishing and relaxing.
Dena Lana
Nice place to get off work! The host and sheriff controlling the area which gives us the peace of mind! Restrooms were clean, toilet papers always was there, shower is working.
The only issue was riding very loud boat and scooters: some young guys had fun until 3 am. It would be nice if water area was controlled also so people who came to relax from those loud noises, could enjoy the nature sounds and silence!
Barry Leitko
We always have a good time at Cagle. Forget about the all night parties because there aren't any. Get up early and catch some fish.
Barbara Sanders
Nice big rv spots. Quiet and peaceful. One of the best and most beautiful parks!
Adam Turner
Camp grounds were very nice. We camped in a tent nice flat ground for the tent. Had water and electric. The bathrooms were very clean. Down side is fishing area is very small. Got great boat ramps and docks. All in all very nice place. The camping spots are spaced pretty far apart.
Matloob Ali Raza
One of the beautiful park to camp and do fishing with public flush washrooms, the do have a boat launching area to enjoy a ride and fishing with family.
Aaron Gray
Beautiful, unspoiled nature. Huge sites with full hookups. Great hosts!
Gin Martin
Beautiful tall pines, great privacy spaces, paved trail, wonderful host. Lake is no swimming and they have alligators, so you wouldn't want to😉. Awesome for boating, fishing, or cayaking or leisure bike riding( not mountain biking) Great place to just get away! …
Nghia Tran
Only a quick hour away from Houston! Came here with my wife and dogs on a Sunday morning and had a blast kayaking. Very beautiful scenery.

We went during the week and left on Saturday morning. The park is very quiet. The photos on the website make it appear that you can see the water with an unobstructed view. At least that's what I thought. Several sites in the second loop do have a water view. But it does depend on where the windows are in your camper or RV. It will not be unobstructed however. The hosts are around but are not intrusive. Of course, it could be that's because we followed the rules. We thought there was a burn ban but we saw someone grilling with an open fire in the fire pit. I assume that was allowed. Personally, I thought it was kind of dangerous since the flames were leaping up. They were camped right across from the host so I guess it was okay. There are a couple of trails. And you are close to the Lone Star Trail. In the first loop, there are two hosts. In the second loop there are two hosts. In the first loop, one of the hosts has a pretty cluttered outside living area. They also have a barking dog. I am really kind of surprised that whoever is over the entire park lets that host keep the outside of their premises that messy. There was also a trash can off of one of the trails near the bank of the Blake that looks like it hasn't been dumped in a very long time. The trash bag is compromised. We would definitely go back.
Steve Mordaunt
Great place to go hiking, fishing, camping. Very nice park, very relaxing.
Mark Copeland
The campground is nice and the restrooms are clean. Watch out for the old couple at the front entrance..The old man thinks he owns the place. Camp hosts Jim and Aaron are great people.
BNPixPro Series
EXCELLENT CAMPING for ♿ Families, Couples, Individuals. Serene. Perfect for Soulful Reflection and EXCELLENT for hiking & Enjoying Wildlife👍👍👍 …
Papa Joe's Backyard BBQ
Love this campground, very spacious sites and all are full hookup sites.
Jessica Serrano
Beautiful at Sunset, quiet and a nice Camp Ground with lots of clean restroom houses that include a shower. Great to fish, boat ramps and docks.
Anne Backus
Beautiful spot for camping. Nice little trail for walking. Lots to do
Evelyn Rico
Great camping area. Close by restrooms. Beautiful hiking trails.

We had a great time here on our family RV vacation. The campsite was very quiet allowing us to really enjoy the sounds and beauty of nature. With all the pine tree cover we actually were able to stay relatively cool even though it was summer. We spent a little time floating in the shallow water to help cool off even more. The only negative was that because the park trees were so tall with all lower branches removed there wasn't that sense of privacy and separation you usually get with a park with such great tree coverage. Fortunately though the sites were quite spacious. I would totally recommend this park to others and I'd consider returning here in the future. I expect it would be amazing in the fall or spring when the weather is cooler.
Tihamtu Chaos-Dragon (The One Dark Goddess)
It is a great camp grounds with flush toilets in the public bathrooms. There's a boat ramp to launch your boat on a beautiful lake. It's a popular fishing spot. There's plenty of parking, it runs 5 bucks if you are not camping, other fees may apply depending on what all you want to do. There is a park office and a grounds caretaker, so someone is always keeping an eye on things. It's a great place for gatherings, be they family, friends or community.
Jorge Ibarra
Great experience and beautiful scenery. I'll definitely come back soon.
Umit Karagoz
Such a nice place for a weekend and kids love it. However all the reviews about dumpster are correct.
John Burmingham
Nice campground. Bathrooms are clean. Shower with hot water. Boat ramp. Pet friendly, needs to be leashed. Staff on hand to maintain grounds.
Aaron
Great campground. Sites were spacious and wooded. I did see some big branches fall so I would be mindful of that next time. Staff was very friendly and helpful. You could tell that the camp hosts really loved the park and wanted to keep it nice. Fire pits were big. I personally prefer the sites further away from the water because the boat ramp can get busy on the weekends. There are some sites right on the water that looked really nice.
Cobalt Gomez
We bought a travel trailer last year and wanted to find the best place to camp out every year in spring and fall. Well this beautiful area is just the spot! Our pad which I hope is available every time, is so convenient and beautiful!
Anita Thomspon
Nice campground with hiking trails. Some of the trails needed trimming, but it was still clear were they were. Clean bath houses, well kept sites with full hookups. Friendly hosts. Nice family setting with an occasional police presence to make you feel safe. We will continue to return here.
NAP Faraway
Beautiful natural forest setting. But, our site #2 was next to the large, smelly dumpster. Our view was the dumpster, it smelled horribly. You can just imagine the racket made when it was being emptied. Cagle Recreation Area, Texas, you can do better! Move the dumpster or eliminate site #2. In addition, every park in Texas that we stayed at could not be bothered to offer even the minimum of recycling of glass, aluminum, and plastic. Unbelievable that in this day and age everything goes into the landfill. Shame on Texas state, County and National parks! Your parks are beautiful but your practices need improvement.
Janet Curfman
Very quiet and peaceful. Sites are very spacious.
Davy Pyle
Very small and quaint. I enjoyed my short camp here but it is not my favorite. I love that it is quiet and has easy access to the lake. The drive in is gorgeous, but the area is marginal. The camping spots are right on top of each other. Huntsville state park has more trails and less restrictions. You can't swim here, you have to book in advance, and the trails don't exist. I would recommend if you plan on fishing from a boat and sleeping in an RV. As a positive it is very close to the trail head to the Lonestar trail which I really enjoyed.
Brandi Sniffer
Nice spread out, full hook up campsites. Pretty lake. Poor reservation program. Poor information posted with conflicting park rules. Some roads were closed, but there was no info about it. The bathrooms are dated, but clean. If you want a quiet, full hook up campsite for a reasonable price, it's very nice. The operations and management of information is not as nice.
marty smith
Called this place and was asking questions and the lady on the phone was SUPER RUDE!!
She said I just need you to be quiet for 5 seconds, WTF! I never interrupt people, sorry you have no communication skills!
UPDATE... I originally did a 1star due to above yet that really does do this place justice.
The park is awesome for RV and campers. Sites have 30 and 50 amp with sewer !
They have a board launch and pier. We went paddleboarding and had a GREAT time.
They also have some trails around the park on the lake.
Just book online!
Dawn Hardt
Wonderful camp! Zach & his wife (camp host) were nice & helpful, even brought us firewood. The sites are Awesome, trees & lots of room. (Not too close to each other). The trails are clearly marked. The only thing I can think of to make this park better is a Fishing Pier. Apparently the fishing is really good! The guy across from us caught a HUGE (about 3 1/2 feet long and at least 40 lbs) catfish. I would have loved to be part of that kinda action.
We were at maximum capacity by sharing with a couple of friends that used our site's tent pad & put a couple of hammocks in the trees. We did end up buying firewood from outside the park because all they had available was pine. The showers were decent & well maintained. They could use a little longer trail for hiking too.
Love it! We will be back! We were on the Sycamore Loop.
Richard Cabrera
Good place. Not huge but worth the trip. We hiked and used our bicycles. Good for kids.
Bob Bhakta
Great place for the family! Wether you want to do tent camping, RV, or pulling a trailer. The bathrooms are cleaned daily and sanitized. Beautiful trails are available for hiking and biking, and only ten minutes away from town.
Jerri Stinson
This is me and my family's 3rd time camping here and I love it. We always book 6-7 sites and just enjoy the outdoors and each others company. The scenery is awesome and the trails are fun for the whole family. The last two times we stayed here the pollen was really bad and everyone's allergies were going bananas. The only con is the bathrooms on site. They rarely cleaned them and we would've went two whole days without toilet paper if we didn't bring our own. We made a trip to Kroger to buy bleach, mops, brooms, gloves and other cleaning supplies, but by the time we got back they were cleaning the bathrooms due to a family member saying something about it. Other than that the host was cool and we didn't have any other issues.
krystal Stout
I enjoyed it. It was quite, families were boating, having picnics and teaching little ones to ride bikes. I myself was looking for a place to teach my puppy to walk on a leash without a lot of traffic and busy roads.
HDA Williams
We love Cagle! Camp sites are huge and clean. Cell service is not great (Verizon), but that’s not really the point of camping! Hiking trails are awesome here!
Rick N
This place is beautiful! Spent time by the lake. Nice park. Quiet!
Richard Smith
Great camping area with some of the best restroom facilities I've seen camping. Not very crowded but enough people to feel comfortable. Nice tent pads for pitching tents and fire rings to have an open fire if you wanted. Campsite host were very friendly and helpful.
Steven Bell
Nice place. Big sites with lots of space. There are some hiking trails but the multi-use trails were closed during our stay. Camphosts keep the park looking good. Boat ramp and lake access for boating and fishing. The information on the bulletin boards is outdated, it would be nice to see current information with park maps.
Nun Ya
We love this place and try to camp yearly. This year we had an overall great experience. Just wish the bathrooms would have been cleaner and wiped down. Didn't see the host for our side except for when we checked in at the entrance.
Brayden Okiver
It is right next to Lake Conroe and it has a nice camp ground and has great fishing and fun things to do with family and friends
Karen Reisz
I am giving only 3 stars to rate due to the Camp Hosts!! Cagle Recreation area is wonderful. We have been camping at the Cagle campground since 2009, we know the rules & are good campers, just my husband & I. This visit was ruined by the Camp Hosts!! We had to come after work so we were limited on daylight getting set up, here comes the CH to accuse us of removing the reservation from the wooden post at the campsite, we did not! She didn't have us on the list she had, but I had a reservation in hand. The camper list she had was not current, but she continued to question us!! She delayed us in our camp set up! Next morning another CH asks us to move our truck from the grass, the side of the tires were just touching some grass blades on the edge of the asphalt, not on the grass! We moved our truck anyway. On the Saturday of our stay another CH barged in on a family cookout to tell us where our children should have parked!! Our son & daughter came around 4pm to eat with us, son parked in the spot near our campsite with our 2nd parking pass. Our daughter paid at the entry, but it was unattended so she put $5 in the box. She was not aware of the envelopes. The CH wanted her to move to the day use parking, it was over 100 degrees & there was plenty of marked parking near our site!! Her request was ridiculous & unreasonable!! We still can't believe the nerve of her interference on our dinner!!! The campground was not crowded at all!! We respect the work the CH provide, but this visit was soured by these zealous Hosts!! Cagle is less than an hour from our home so we like to use for a short get away on the weekends & enjoy the outdoors! It is a shame the people in charge find it necessary to treat campers in this manner. We will not be back for a long time, at least until this group of hosts are gone! Thanks for ruining our short vacation!! :(
Steve F.
Great place for a quiet weekend getaway. We stayed in space 31. All good connections, close to water and great walking trails. Of was fairly level but had to use a couple pads on one side. Most spots around me looked level as well. Great walking trails. I look forward to going back.
Greg T
National recreational area with great camping amenities and access to Lake Conroe for boat launching. Well kept and great setups for RV’s (full 50/30A, water, sewer hookups) and tent camping alike (tent pads). Been going here for several years and it’s always fun and relaxing
Ally S
Beautiful campground in the piney woods. We were in site 28, which was not very level, but we made it work. We were camping in a 37 foot fifth wheel with a LB truck and we had plenty of room on our pad. The site was very spacious with picnic table and fire ring. We had some problems with our electrical hookups, but the camp host electrician came and fixed it quickly. The host in our loop, Jim, was very friendly and helpful. The bath house showers looked a little sketchy, but with full hookups we did all our showering in the RV. Other amenities included a boat dock and hiking trails. Cagle has a nice 2 mile hiking loop and when you get bored you can hike for miles and miles on the nearby Lonestar Trail.
Joe Liotta
Boat ramp is well kept and there is plenty of parking. Can’t beat the $5 fee per car.
Andy Akers
My wife and I have been here several times now and have had a great stay each time. Really enjoy the space between sites and the trees. We also boat on Lake Conroe, so it's another way to be on/at the lake!
Ronald Broussard
Very clean park, have stayed many times.
Diana Watson
Great place for camping or a picnic. It's a really pretty area with picnic tables and barbecue grills. There's a dock to launch boats or look out at the water from. We brought a 2-year old and he had a lot of fun. There were a ton of kids running around, having a blast. My only issue was that it was a little small, so it seemed really crowded although there really weren't that many people there.
Tracy Schultz
Visited my parents who had come down with their camper. Beautiful campground with well maintained facilities.
Cal Lopez
Restrooms are clean. Lake is fun to fish. Campsites are as advertised. Woods and could hiking trials could be more dense and prevalent but the proximity to Houston compensates for that. Great place for young kids.
Jeannette Velazquez
A place to get away from it all. Nice big sites in the middle of the forest. Not many sites so I would reserve a spot. Right off the lake with great boating and fishing. Nice trails to hike. Cell service is spotty so now the kids have to be outside!
Frances Folsom
We had 4 campsites reserved and somehow we were all split up but in the same loop so no complaints. The host was completely off his rocker, even referred to himself as the "Host from Hell", which in fact was true. This is a very nice park, don't count on being where you reserve and steer clear of the host.... Seriously!!
Brenda Davis
I have been going to Caggle for about 4 years and love it. Lots are big, pads or good, each spot has 30 or 50 and all full hookup. It is very peaceful. Not alot for kids other than walking trails and fishing.
Nathan Kirton
Amazing spot. Very chill and layed back. Already booked 2 more weekends :)
Cynthia
Awesome! Campsite!! Clean !! Suoer nice Host!! Well maintained camp ground! Beautiful campsites for RV sites 3 point hookup! Awesome! Tent sites with nice tent pads. Shade cover. Beautiful trees large well designed camping areas!!

Really nice park with full hook-ups. Only thing to do is fish . One small half paved walking path . Great camp host.
Big trees dropping nuts on roof , noooo service......
Sprint -Roaming
Verizon- 2 bars 4g
AT&T - 2 bars 4g sometimes 1lte but no real data transfer.
Michael Martin
Woodsy campground with full hook-ups. A few sites have water views.
Morgan Feng
Went here for a Cub Scouts trip. Park accommodated us nicely. For those with RV, there is sewer hookup. Which is nice is not many Texas state parks near Houston have sewer.
Disabled Dave
A national forest and campground and water in the forest. hard to see from the main road you have to drive down the road to get to it. Handicap parking. Handicapped accessible restrooms. Camping hiking and all of the things you would do in a forest. Very well maintained Road. Clean restaurants. You do have to pay to enter and use this part of the forest. There are other places you can go to the forest that don't have built-up facilities that is free. it's also a ways from town so you should stock up on the things you need before you get here
aaron j
Don't bring any ATV's or even a golf cart. They will not let you even take them off of the trailer. Nice campground though 50 amp service and full hookups are available.
T Kit
Interesting campground, it only has about 60ish site on two loops so it's on the small side, super quiet super super quiet I think I heard a raccoon fart at 2 in the morning. All sites are RV ready full hook up with a tent sand bed, table and lamp post The fire pits are nice a number of them have been replaced recently. Bathrooms are small two stalls and a shower annoying I have to keep hitting the button on the shower every 30 seconds points for a hot shower and having a dressing bench in stall, Minus points for no ac( thats fine) little heat it was 42 in there and the vent blocks on the bottom of the wall can easily allow viewing in to the shower stall. Boat ramp is nice but it can get clogged with moderate numbers, minor layout changes and a little new asphalt could totally fix. No atv trailhead or spur you have to trailer them to the head. If your useing it as a base camp for hunting in the WMA depends on the camp host if you'll get flack for dressing or quartering game. Monday thru Wednesday this place is empty. No beach or swimming peer. No camp store or vending machine but Huntsville is right up the street. Fishing can be good if you time it right.
Michelle Couch
Very quiet. Shady. Walking trails. Boat ramp. No swimming. Small area to bank fish. Lots of birds to watch.
Michael Reed
Great place to camp, bike trails, hiking trails, really good fishing, but better in a boat. Nice forest campground. Not too far out from city.
Fred Bostelman
Great Location, Peaceful and Relaxing with Helpful Camp Hosts. Ms Vickie is Just wonderful!
Dale Belsaas
Very nice park with full service sites. Clean and neat.
Arif Ismayilov
Very quiet, family and fabulous placefor camping and fishing! Just 30 dollars for the 24 hours...clean space, lake close to you, clean restrooms. I advice this place, because I wanna come back again!
Crawford “Kris Kringle” Mayfield
I performed a wedding at this park on Lake Conroe. Very beautiful, bathrooms were clean, boat ramp looked nice. Was MLK day so they didn’t charge me to come in (bonus)
Rod Hicks
I love this place!
If you need to get away from the busyness of the world it's a great place to do just that!
Barbara Ishmael
Great place to camp very clean but not very many places to fish from bank. This is great if you have a boat.
Lyndall Canter
Nice campground but they don't fully honor access passes. Most places honor access pass with a 50 percent discount. Here less that 25 percent. Need reservations most of the time.
jerry long
One of my favorite places to camp.
Warren C.
Excellent sunsets, and very quiet even when park is full, only used restroom facilitys once, lots of bugs, but to be expected this time of the year because trump is controlling the insects.lol!!
ANTONIO VELAZQUEZ
No light pollution!! Hardly any cell service, there is full hookup, hiking trails, equestrian trails also.
Dean Marschel
Awesome camp ground.. the sites are well kept and ready for fun. The park hosts are just increadible.. great place
Discipulos de Jesus Estudios Biblicos
Great place for families, walking and to enjoy nature.
Mike Gilbert
Great place for a quick get away, but....
Very hard to get a space for a longer get away. It would be nice if some of the spaces required 4 or more nights to reserve for the out of town folks that want to visit on a shorter notice.
Jill Castillo (queeny)
Beautiful park! Very nice campgrounds and the park hosts were excellent! We really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to go back!
Deb Henrion
Busy place. Enjoyed our stay.
T. Lynn Greene
Very nice camping areas and very sweet camp hosts. The place is very clean and quiet.
Donna Raines
We went the last weekend in October. Loved this place! Camp host was helpful and friendly. Sites were large and spacious. We will definitely go back!
Kimberley Lauve
Was just checking it out. Looks like a great place to go camping with family. Has boat launch, small pier and clean restrooms/showers.
오썸(Awesome TV)
Very good, clean and quite. Many trails available
Happy Camper
We had a very nice weekend at Cagle Recreation Area. We camped in the full hookup area and enjoyed the spacious campsites, trails and access to the lake. We will definitely go back!

The noise from the motorboat will keep you awake at night, clean and safe.
Scott Richey
Secret beach next to Cagle campground.
Keith Mackrell
Very nice location and facilities were fine. We were one of the few tents there and most people seemed to be using the campsite as a fishing base
Daniel Ratliff
One of my favorite Parts in all of Texas.
Aiden Smith
Great place, kids had fun. Hot showers and clean bathrooms. The camp hosts were outstanding.
M H
