The Christmas lights here were AMAZING. It's so nice that in the heart of downtown, there is a wonderful free attraction where anyone can go to walk around and ooh and ahh with delight during the holiday season. It's the best use of that old City Center space, too: green open concert space during the summer, and colorful winter wonderland late in the year. Well maintained, too, for being a very heavily trafficked park. Good job, Columbus!

I have experienced USA Christmas lights for the first time in Columbus Commons lights and that experience was amazing. I just loved that Christmas lights. Parking areas was also around the place so you can easily park.

Nice outdoor venue that welcomes all genres of entertainment. From speakers to musicians, Columbus Commons welcomes all to enjoy the performances and sceneries from downtown Columbus. Seating and tables are sometimes provided. Lawn chairs are welcomed contingent on the performance. Family friendly and our four -legged fur babies are welcome also. Food trucks may make stationed there occasionally. Great place to have a great time with cool people.

Every year the lights at the Commons become more and more elaborate. Love that there is parking all around the Commons and that this location can be enjoyed free of charge. While there are many events that happen here the holiday lights are really a treat! Worth a stroll when downtown. There is parking at meters as well as at an underground garage.

Nice green space in the middle of urban Columbus. They put up lights for Christmas that I went to see. Nice little display. They also have this fun game you can play on the easy side of the commons. And on the south side of the commons they have a bunch of chairs to sit in and relax.

There's really not much to tell about the place. It's a downtown open space where they hold a lot of community events and it's nice to visit when they are occurring. Right now, there are holiday lights up all around the park with plenty of picture opportunities.

What a great park in the middle of downtown Columbus. Lots of green space to enjoy a nice picnic or take a walk. There is a lot to do on the summer as well as enjoy the Christmas lights in the winter. Parking can be found throughout downtown.

Beautiful place to visit during the holidays. There's a nice lighted arch in front of the large Christmas tree that serves as a huge selfie light. Great place to enjoy holiday lights with the family.

It's a pretty nice park if you're looking for a calm stroll in the grass, hang out and get lunch with friends, and generally enjoy just being outdoors. It was nice getting to enjoy some live music. I'd visit the park again for sure. It's just not the best park for kids as far as things for them to do. Also, the landscaping is beautiful! 😍

Very nice area with its bicentennial pavilion. Loads of grassy area to sit on, but a giant portion farther from the pavilion is off limits at the moment. There is a weird light game people can play. Didn’t try it myself... At the opposite side of the pavilion is Jeni’s ice cream and another food place (don’t remember what it’s called but it serves savory foods). Very nice and maintained. Benches sparingly around. There is a cute kids tables and chairs area near the food places. Just wish there was more shade! The tall buildings surrounding it only does so much at certain times.

Really nice green space in the heart of downtown. There are seasonal events all year round that make it a lot of fun. Currently there are Christmas lights up everywhere and it's done really well for a smaller sort of park.

We came down to walk around during Christmas and the light display was beautiful! It's a pretty park and the lights are really well integrated. It's not a big area, but the display is well done and it's worth a trip to see. If you're in the area around Christmas, I recommend stopping by!

Christmas lights were wonderful, easy public parking available right in front of the place. Visited during Christmas Eve, so if you are here at that point in time coming prepared with sufficient winter clothing will help you stay longer with lights. Also use a good camera for shooting in the dark.

We've seen a few shows here and the venue is spot on. Not a bad view in the theater (in our opinion). The theater is always a nice environment-never too hot or stuffy. Sound is excellent from anywhere you sit. We love it here!

I come here to have lunch sometimes in the summer. It's quiet and peaceful in the midst of the big city. Security patrols the area on bicycle and on foot. My wife and i visited here on Christmas Eve because i had seen all the Christmas lights and i knew it would be an amazing, romantic visit.

The holiday lights this year are so amazing!! Go check them out while they last. They turned part of the lights off right around 10pm, probably due to the curfew. I have always enjoyed this place - just a nice and quiet downtown area perfect for walks and people walk their puppies there a lot. You can see a lot of things going on there while still being able to keep a safe distance from others.

Wonderful park in the middle of the city. Great open space. It has access to an underground parking garage, though I have never used it, so I'm not sure how it works. The Christmas lights each year are beautiful. And when covid wasn't a thing they had a fun light game that you could play at dark.

For those looking for a place to see a nice variety of Christmas lights without the crowding of the zoo won't be disappointed with the display at the Commons. It doesn't take long to see the lights and there is plenty to do downtown...when not in quarantine that is. My family and I were happy we went.

This place is amazingly beautiful, it is safe to ventured day and night. Security is visible at all times, decorations are beautiful and it always clean. The area is small but it worth visiting. It would be awesome if they let volunteered sing or put free music at night.

Very beautiful park. Walked around one night after visiting Dirty Frank's. I felt completely safe while walking around even though it was dark outside. There were bicycle safety patrols in the area as well as many people walking around. I have never been to any of the events here, but wouldn't hesitate to visit again!

Great centralized park, with a nice holiday light display for a relaxing stroll. Portable toilets are available and there is plenty of areas to just sit and relax. The central field does get muddy at times, so be aware when you choose footwear

Such a pretty area! The lawn is definitely that good "barefoot" grass. Food truck days are fun despite food trucks being more expensive than actual restaurants now for some reason. Wish there was more shaded seating/standing area, especially given the size of crowds that are drawn here.

Featuring a large lawn in the center of downtown Columbus, the Columbus Commons serves as a venue for large concerts as well as providing a place for casual recreation on nice days. This park allows leashed pets as long as they are picked up after. With a parking garage right across the street, cheap parking is available while you spend your time here. Many restaurants are within a short walking distance of here. There is also a Lime Scooter rental hub at the south end of the park by the carousel. Tip: bring food to eat here as a picnic!

This building looks humble from the outside but when you're inside it has huge halls with very high ceilings. The inside is very grand and elegant. I could just wonder how they built the massive walls and posts from the ground up. I am simply amazed by this great feat of engineering. We went there on a Sunday so there were no crowd and it's open until 5pm. I think parking meters are free on Sundays too. Go visit the place!

Visited today for food truck lunch (I believe its every Thursday during summer). A beautiful day, ample seating and a good variety of food options. There is not a ton to do during lunch, but the carousel was in operation for kids who wanted a ride, there were 10 trucks, soft drinks, and ice cream for dessert. There was street parking nearby or two garages, one on site and one literally across the street. A real nice treat.

They have awesome stuff happening down there! It's Christmas time right now and my children really enjoyed the lights, free hot chocolate, free train ride, and free carousel ride. They also had face painting, ballons, and Santa. During the summer they also have free concerts and events as well. I'd highly recommend this place.

I came here for the earth day festival and it was beautiful. It was very open and it easily accommodated all of the vendors and anyone attending. The strange is easy to see from most any vantage point and the sound system powerful enough to hear the music all the way at the back.

Fun place to visit with kid, has carousel, food stalls. Yesterday hot chocolate and carousel ride was free for all. Lightning was really nice and brilliantly designed. We loved this place. For parking there are place within 200ft, I parked my car at abm parking and they had $7 flat rate. Make sure you pay in advance and keep reciept in car dashboard.

Went there for the Thursday night free concert. Great venue, clean, bathrooms and food vendors on site (including beer), and plenty of security and police so there aren't any problem people floating around. Highly recommended on a warm summer evening!

This is a nice downtown greenspace. The food truck gatherings are great and so are the musical/summer events. Only unfortunate thing is people don't always pick up after there dogs, but that's not the Park's fault. Watch your step!

Saw Distant Worlds here and the show was great. Had an overall good experience, though the seats were clearly not designed with people taller than five feet in mind. I'm 6'2 and my knees were jammed against the back of the seat in front of me all night.

I just want to give a huge shoutout to the team that takes care of the landscaping at the park. I walk through the commons daily to get to and from work and I am always amazed at how well kept everything is. It blows my mind the constant work that needs to go into to and I just wanted to let you know that it doesn't go unnoticed!

I love the Commons! It can be the quiet park in the middle of the city or a thriving outdoor pavilion hosting a variety of events. Family fun days with food trucks are typical in summer and lighted sculptures in the winter. One of my favorite haunts.

Great place to go in the summer in Columbus. They have food trucks on Thursdays during lunch and concerts in the evening sometimes and people will use the grass area to workout. It's a nice open space in the center of downtown that is also decorated with all kinds of lights in the winter which is cool to see.

This is a terrific space that I hope the locals appreciate. Huge green lawn with a stage where they have free concerts and other activities. I came for the Bruce Hornsby concert, and it was a perfect night and a great time. You can bring your own chairs and there were food trucks and a beer and wine tent. There were no bad places to sit since two monitors next to the stage give a great view. I came from Dayton for the show and would make the drive again.

It's a really nice facility and they have several free family events. One serious complaint, though, is that security doesn't try to have any control on flying objects. It seems that everytime I am there, me or the little one's get hit by flying balls, frisbees, etc. I understand it's a park, but they should not be allowed to throw these items right in the center of the crowd watching a concert, etc. Maybe a designated area or rules on how far apart the thrower and catcher can be.

Lovely green space with a beautiful old carousel and a stage for performances. It's ideally situated in the heart of the city and is easily accessible for the free Cbus circulator. Perfect locale for community events or to just stop and smell the flowers. Nice area for picnics too. My favorite event here is actually the Christmas tree lighting. Though it has been home to numerous other goings on such as the food truck festival, the pizza festival, and a variety of free summer performances.

Nice park area located downtown. Has a lot of green space but could use some mature trees for shade. During the summer and fall months, the south end of the park hosts food trucks for lunch every Thursday and it gets busy. There are sitting areas to enjoy your food, but during peak hours it can be hard to find a spot. The trucks also cannot sell drinks so you'll have to buy them from a vending machine located next to the restaurant (currently Tortilla) or from the the concession stand.

First time to experience Picnic with the Pops at the Commons. Parking is right across the street, the views were great, it was not crowded. There was a food truck that I would have tried, but we brought our own food. That would be something to keep in mind for next time. We saw the Osu Marching Band which was amazing. great re-use of a once popular area in Downtown Columbus. Kid loved the carousel.. bring small bills that you can exchange for tokens. Nearby parking garage has easy access to theatre, statehouse, and more. Events are well-managed and diverse. Restrooms are shockingly clean.

Although the atmosphere was very beautiful and welcoming, I wasn't pleased with the food I had ordered and especially not for the price. I had a double cheeseburger and it was a little dry, it could've used more seasoning, and the burger didn't fit on the bun. As I looked around the table at what the rest of my family had ordered which was pasta I realized that I should've ordered the same there was no complaints about their pasta or the amount received. I'd return though but it wouldn't be for a burger!

It is Memorial Day weekend and I'm not come here but I found the Columbus Commons on the internet. They add Carousel rides and they also had bouncy houses and tonight there's going to be a free movie. Everything was free the grass is cut short there's no bugs it's a wonderful place if you come here and you get the opportunity to visit please do so.

We liked the how the park was decorated. Loved the big christmas tree in the park. You can also visit Scioto mile near by which is around .4 miles from here. It is a huge area which is decorated with lights, so it might take you around 30 mintues to an hour going around the whole park and enjoying the decorations. Childern will like the place. I went to sit and eat my lunch, but there wasn't a trash can to be found anywhere. Just because it's late fall or even if it's winter, people still use the park and want to keep it clean, without having to junk up their cars with trash.

LOVE the free concerts and other WONDERFUL family ootions. They set up a play area that included giant foam blocks with which l helped the kids play human jenga! We ALL had a blast and saw many people we know. They have a carousel also. EXCELLENT FREE FUN FOR EVERYONE!!!

In an impromptu trip to Columbus, stumbled upon a free concert that this little nook just happened to host. It was just a block away from my hotel so didn't have to worry about parking. The entire park looked like it was new. We probably sat about 300 feet from concert stage and could hear and see the group very well. At the very back of the park, there were about 5 or 6 gourmet food trucks which I would have eaten had we not had dinner before. For restrooms there were about 10 port-o-potties which did not make me throw up in my mouth. Smell was neutral for a refreshing change. The weather was perfect, all in all made for a delightful night outside.

Fun little park in the middle of downtown Columbus. It's abandoned during winter months, but the summer has multiple food truck and festival events. There's even public bathrooms and an underground parking garage so it's easy to arrive and be comfortable.

Hodges" U.S. Supreme Court decision] • Several events in celebration of the Americans With Disabilities Act [ADA] [with tents by vendors and by non-profit organizations] • Several Earth Day celebrations [with tents by vendors and by non-profit organizations] • A March for Science [that had begun at the Statehouse and had ended at Columbus Commons] Columbus Commons is always extremely beautiful during the Christmas season because of the many Christmas lights. Columbus Commons has a merry-go-round but I have never seen it operating. I recently [4-16-2019] spent a very pleasant hour or so sitting on a bench near the merry-go-round at Columbus Commons and relaxing between two events that I had been planning to attend in downtown Columbus.

This patch of grass is in and of itself not that remarkable, but it will go down in Columbus history as being the largest single reason for the revitalization of the downtown area. The City Center from the 90s was an small attempt, but it failed in that it didn't result in further commercial and residential development. In this case, new growth around the Commons and Bicentennial Park has been explosive, and maybe this will be the beginning of the end of C-bus' sad tradition of perpetual sprawl.

There is often something interesting going on here, from concerts (sometimes free) to food truck festivals, this green space in downtown Columbus Ohio provides a great gathering place to hang out with friends. Even when there are not large events you will often find do people doing yoga or throwing Frisbee. There is convenient inexpensive parking in the garage across the street. It is just a few blocks from the Scioto Mile and Bicentennial Park. There is Tortillas in one building on site with reasonable hours and incredible food, similar to Chipotle, but with more salsa choices. There is also a Jeni's ice cream in the opposite building. So check their schedule online and see what is happening!

The Commons replaced City Center, initially a world-renowned shopping center that brought New York upscale fashion to Columbus, Ohio! After the Great Recession, the vacated building and lots next to it were transformed into one of the premier hubs for urban living in Columbus. The Commons hosts Picnic with the Pops and you get to enjoy fantastic orchestral music. The Food Truck days were phenomenal (doo-doo-da-doo-doo), phenomenal, and today the Commons is ringed with New York style urban apartments and booming businesses. It's a social gathering and places like Condado's Tacos are located right on the square. Columbus is an urban city again with a vibrant night life, food and entertainment.
