It's super quiet & peaceful. Great for clearing your mind. Personally, I like to grab a picnic table & enjoy the scenery or take a leisurely stroll around the lake. There is plenty of parking, clean public restrooms & that about sums it up.

Always an enjoyable time around the lake aside from the people who bring off leash dogs or don't pick up after their dogs and the excessive geese by the parking lot. We love walking there, hunting painted rocks with our kid, and have even enjoyed fishing and kayaking.

Pretty and a fun and short little stroll. Clear paths and easy for children and elderly. Lots of fisherman when we went and alot of goose/duck poop and some pee bottles on the ground.

Cosby Lake Park is a really awesome place to visit. One of the most beautiful places to see in the entire state in my opinion. It was a special trip down memory lane for me because I hadn't been there in over 50 years since I was about 12 years old and I had gone to camp there back when it was still a camp.

Nice place near Birmingham or a hidden treasure if I may say more eloquently. There are hikes, fishes (not for fishing) and picnic area. There are several swings for the adults. So if you are interested you know the place! There are small waterfalls and most importantly itz pretty quiet for a city of Birmingham. We went in the nearby area for a moon sighting once. The park is officially closed at night. But who can stop you gazing upon the moon near lake which is very closed to the road.One more thing, the goose! There is a large population of goose in the park. They roam the shallow water, tries to catch the little fishes. If you somehow manages to see the place during fall color or during the sunset I envy you. They are quite majestic to look at in my humble opinion. I have never seen in crime or illegal activities in these area. I assume the area is very safe anytime you visit. To conclude, I would describe the place calm, nice and quiet.

It is okay. Boring mostly as far as lake parks go but there is a strenuous hiking trail in the back that goes up to an old school. It's always hotter than S when I have been there so I never do that hiking trail. There's also a short hiking trail to the creek which is nice. But still a purdy basic park. Nothing that's like oh wow that's so purdy. The water running off is nice but it isn't a waterfall waterfall.

It's a great place to walk with small children - they love the bridges! The wide paths of fine gravel are well maintained. There are peaceful sections through the woods and beautiful views of Cosby Lake.

Very nice park for a easy walk with a trail around the lake also the trail connects to the near by neighborhood . Turtles are plentiful throughout the lake I spotted some enjoying the sunshine on the downed tree logs near the bank of the lake.

My new favorite place to walk. I used to go turkey creek nature preserve but it’s just too crowded these days. This is a very peaceful, laid-back location to walk the dog or take the kids, or fish. Too much goose poop though.

The city of Clay and the Freshwater Land Trust has done a wonderful job of refurbishing this site in the last few years. Whether you're here for the fishing, a brisk walk by yourself or with your fur-baby , or just to sit and enjoy the wild life, this is truly a hidden gym. Plenty of off-street parking

Well kept lake with multi route walking track. Some routes do go back into the woods a good bit. The standard circle around the lake is a little over 1/2 a mile. Things to know: - small, covered picnic areas - a few two-person wooden swings - no lighting except for the parking areas - no fishing or swimming - there are Canadian geese and ducks so wear shoes you wouldn’t mind accidentally stepping in something in!

Beautiful park. There is one large loop that forces the lake and two smaller offshoots that circle back around. So basically no matter which route you take you'll wind back where you started. Fishing, grilling, leashed pets and boats without motors are allowed. No swimming, open fires, or glass containers.

It's a great park for walking, dogs are welcomed on leash, there are always people fishing. It's catch and release. The trails are well maintained and you could def use a kid's bike/stroller on the main trails as they are mostly paved/half gravel.

Easy gravel trails. Really nice to walk or run around on. It's very pretty in the fall and spring time. The only issues I have are there is a bunch of Canada Goose poop by the parking lots, some sections of the trail smell like dead fish, there is litter in the pond, and sometimes there are strange people on the trails (but that could be anywhere you go, I suppose).

Nice little spot for an afternoon outing. The brim fishing there it's supposed to be pretty good, but I have yet to catch a bass in roughly 10 trips. The lake is pretty small and has a gravel walking track going around it. No swimming in the lake and I have seen several snakes but never felt in danger.

One of my favorite places to go on a jog or walk. The lake itself is very breath taking. U can just sit and enjoy the view and the smell of fresh air. The only down side is the Alfa geese is super mean and it defends it's friends. Should never feed them. Always clean, beautiful, and well maintained. Public restrooms available.

Me my son and my husband go there almost everyday..it's beautiful there but all the new rules suck.. it a park and should be fun with very little limitations but resently they put up rules like no bike riding no feeding the ducks.. what??? Like my son loves feeding the ducks .. pretty soon there gonna list rules like no fishing no walking no having fun.. I love going there but if they continue to add all the rules then possibly gonna get alot of folks to change parks.. I know of a few that have already stopped going.

I really enjoyed it for walking but the lake itself is pretty dirty. I did see people fishing in there...I would only go with a friend as a precaution just because there are a few places visibility gets a little sketchy and we all know how things are now days; you can never be too careful.

My dog loves when I bring him here for a walk at this park, and the geese, ducks, turtles, and beaver are entertaining as well. They have been doing improvements steadily over time. Some are good like the tree planting and swings, while some are questionable as to the benefit or harm of its' natural inhabitants like cutting the pampas grass down(provides protection for bird residents in winter and for storms) and the really big old trees. People walk, run, and ride bikes here. There are picnic tables and fishing, but I'm not seeing any garbage cans for trash which is why I didn't give 5 stars. Great park with lots of history. Use to be a camp back in the day.

Nice park always a cool breeze coming of the lake, restroom are fairly clean, trash is kept picked up and i have seen some fair size catfish come out of the lake. Fishing licences required , game warden makes regular stops, and do not feed the Geese of Ducks, they go across the street to peoples home and mess everywhere.

Great walking trails and the place is always improving. -1 stars because of the goose army. If you ever run here be prepared to duel in gladiatorial combat against the geese. Also, do not come here to feed the evil geese as it was made illegal by the city.

It really is a great park. Fish, canoe, walk around the clean gravel track and enjoy the woods, the list goes on. Easily a local favorite in the clay trussville area. (Only real gripe is when it gets crowded, but that's just my selfishness.)

It pulls up Cosby but it's actually Shadow lake which is a part of Cosby the same river system and it is great for BASS FISHING But you can't fish it no more because grown men don't know how to clean up a mess so the owners of the land put a stop to his fish in there can't blame them

This lake was supposed to have been bought by Jefferson county. Now there is some question of who has jurisdiction. City of Clay has imposed no fishing ect . Is this temporary or permanent? Does this have to do with the covid19 outbreak? Is it related to lake improvements to come , dredging ect?Park needs more trash receptacles.
