I would say overall it good. Will say the age of the campground and the money that goes in the tickets and ownership by the state of GA it should be nicer for campers to park. I noticed that every spot is 5 foot off level. Love this place. My fifth wheel camper was 1 foot off the ground on the front and 6 foot off of the back. That was unlevel. Other than that is was perfect like always.

A beautiful two night stay. There is a $20 access fee you pay once for the entirety of your stay. Easy to access off of hwy 78. The roads are well maintained. Lovely views throughout the park. The campground is very clean and maintained. We reserved a spot next to the pool, purple area. Very nice deck and grill for socializing. We used the shower facilities as we didn’t want to do a full hook up for a quick turnaround. The showers need some attention. The shower pressure was low and the water flow was low. The pool opens at 10 and closes early. Might consider hours for early swimmers and late summer evenings. Solid 4.5 stars. Minor updates to get them to the 5 star status.

First time there, relaxing. Great scenery. Went up in lift and loved the view.. Would recommend to my friends. Just to get away for a few days leave all the headaches and bills at home and just go and relax. Enjoy the nature and scenery.. Definitely try this place

We had an absolute ball at Stone Mountain Park. Our family and friends camped at the park for two days and it was fantastic.
We slept out under the stars, grilled, fished, hiked, walked the mountain, skipped rocks, told scary stories around the fire, made s'mores, watched the fireworks over the mountain and met new people. What a blast!
The campgrounds have easy access to clean bathrooms and showers. Each site has a picnic table and outdoor grill. The mountain activities are a short car ride away. We walked up the mountain and took the Skytram down. Disclaimer, when you take this route, the tram drops you off about 1.5 miles from where you parked your car to walk up the mountain. We found that out the hard way. Thankfully, our group were prepared for the extra walking. It was so nice to be outside.
A great experience that I would do again.

Very nice campground, especially the premium RV sites!! Tent sights are kind of hilly and rocky. We got a river through ours (#125) during the rain. However for some reason it isn't listed as a "lake site" even though it is on the lake and we were only charged a reg. tent site price *bonus!
Over all the campground is very nice. At the premium sites the bathrooms are very big, lots of showers, air conditioned, and very clean. Noticed at some of the other comfort stations that they weren't as big or air conditioned, yet still clean.
The state park however is awesome with tons to do. I would definitely come back.

Amazing place, definitely coming back next year. Sky ride had perfect views of the carving and across the landscape. Train ride around the mountain really showed off the size of the place. Really need to look for all the great places. Grist mill, covered bridge.... More. Campground sites were clean and well maintained. Views of the lake... Too much to write.

Love this place. The Yurts were cool, just wished we had more time to spend there. And they are temperature controlled. Definitely worth checking out. The public restrooms and showers were very clean and within walking distance.

Our stop over every time we go to cades cove. We stayed here for 2 nights and as usual we claimed the summit of that granite stone mountain for about an hour going up and about 35minutes going down. Thanks to the good weather. :) and we just learned that they give out certificates if you claimed the summit. We got one this time for the first time. Hehehe we did not hear that fireworks anymore during our stay unlike before. Hubby and I rode our bike and just relax the rest of the time.

The campground is really nice the lots are shady it’s a bit small the restrooms were clean although they could use some updating the roads really need to be paid a lot of potholes and even the camper pads are even in places if those were updated probably get five stars from me

My family of 4 rented an RV for the weekend and it was great! We have a 3 month old and a 3 year old, and the RV had enough room for all of us. The campground itself is really pretty, there was a pool and a great playground, walking trails, scenic surroundings, and even a small general store.
LYVICK PEREZ
The camp spot was great, there are back ins and pull-through as well. 30&50amp connection, water, picnic table and bbq area. We had a lake front and could see the Rock at the distance. Really nice. The wash rooms could use an update but all in all ok. I always take my sandals to bath in. Check in was easy and friendly.

An amazing place to ring in the new year or pretty much any time of year, Christmas laser light show was fantastic along with the fireworks, you pretty much can't go wrong with anything here, from primitive camping, safari tent or full blown RV glamping. Memories will be made.

Always a great time at Stone Mountain Park Campground! The staff keep this park clean and tidy. The public restrooms are modern and clean. The roads are paved and easy to traverse. But, the views are breath taking!
Johnathon Vogel
Great park with a lot to do! The campground is a little tight for bigger rigs, but definitely not the worst I’ve been to. Great price for full hookup!
Hannah Greer
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful! The campground is clean and spacious. Every pop up tent location seems to have a great view of the lake. No strict rules in place. Love that they have trash pick up everyday. Great experience. Will be going back. 🙂 …
Its Michele's World
Very nice campground. So many things to do. Great for families. The only down side is the unleveled rv sites.
Amanda Martin
Absolutely cannot wait to go back! The campsite was nice for sure but next time we are definitely getting a yurt tent spot or rv. Loved it so much we even became members! Make sure when you go to check out the covered bridge! Was worth the extra few minutes.
Gene Forney
The natural aspects of the park are beautiful and definitely worth a trip. However, for RVers this is worst government owned park I have visited. The campground roads are in horrible shape and very few of the rv spots are level. Photos are of my spot and the camper next door.
Queen Latifa
The site and views were amazing every morning. I only wish there wasn't so much dirt, sand, and rocks all over and that my campsite was more level. No real genuine complaints, just personal preferences.
Clay Maddox
Camped on site 240. Nice and flat. New picnic tables all around this loop. FHU. Cable that I could not get to work. No problem for me. Not camping to watch TV. WiFi not usable. Also did not matter to us. But still, they are amenities they claim for the higher price. 20$ extra to enter park on the first day. Starts to get expensive and it’s not the beach. Had a great time and will probably go back someday. Did not inspect the bath house in our loop but looked updated on the outside. And did have laundry. Parking is a little limited especially if you drive and extra vehicle.
Carlos Solis
Very nice campground wooded with plenty to do.
Climbed Stone Mountain. Laser show could have been better.
Julie Starr
We love camping at this campground. The staff is super friendly, the views are phenomenal, and there is so much to do within the park.
Sinping Ku
Beautiful campground, well maintained, bathrooms with warm showers and very clean. Check in process was smooth, everyone at the site was very friendly. Would love to return :)
CHRISJAMIE LOWRY
When you get to the park, there is a $20 access fee to get to the campground. When you check in, they will give you a flag to enter for free for the rest of your stay. Easy to access off of hwy 78. The roads in the park itself are well maintained. However, I can't say the same for the campground. We were in a pull-through site, but the blacktop was so 'bubbly' and uneven that we couldn't level our 5th wheel. After moving it several times, we finally requested a new site. They only had a back-in available, but we were just happy to have a level site. Amazing views throughout the campground, which is clean. The showers definitely need some attention as the water flow and pressure were horrible.
Jake
Great camp ground, & friendly staff. I would suggest bringing coins (quarters) for the laundry & vending machines. The general store has change but it's easier to just bring a roll of quarters. The Campground is huge too with cable TV, water, sewage and has a pool. Definitely would stay again.

We've had some bestest and greatest of times at Stone Mountain Park! Full of rich history and beautiful hiking 🥾 trails. Many fond memories were created with my own children; walking through trails, barbequing, hiking up the mountain, and going to the fireworks show. The new experience of RV'ing and camping 🏕️ with Grandkids has begun to add much depth to the sacredness of experiencing nature without having to compromise the sanctuary of natural living. It's having both nature, natural living and living in modern times to heighten one's own personal experience. Walking to the park holding Grandbaby tiny hands as she's giggling, laughing, pointing out little squirrels, and amazed at the shimmering Sun 🔆 🩰 dancing across the waters. It's peaceful. The little one dashes off and up the slide she goes. A rainbow shines high up in the sky, through the clouds. Immediately memories is created of such spectacular experience! A moment You wouldn't trade it for the world 🌍. You wonder will the little one remember this 🌅 moment 4ever? You're the one who is cherishing every little precious memories. Having such an amazing experience fills your heart with pure gratitude and thankfulness. The staff here is wonderful and very personable. Working in nature seems to have a certain special Aura effect which adds to the coziness of the environment, the service and hospitality of the staff is a great bonus! Upon entering the campground You receive the sense of urgency that each staff member is attentive to providing and meeting each and every guests wide array of travel needs, wellbeing, and sharing original messages of humor, enlightened communication and knowledgeable advice for safe, efficient, relaxing camping is uniquely appreciated. The park itself is designed to deal with the guests immediate camping needs which offers visitors full 🌝 access to choose from several parking lots providing access to the guest requests for full hook ups for water, sewage, cable, internet, entertainment, laundry facilities, restaurants, family fun, golfing, fire pits, gas grills, charcoal grills, fishing, camping, canoeing, showers, RV'ing, tent camping. Based off of personal experience and numerous trips to Stone Mountain. The experience of excitement and breathtaking scenery Makes Stone Mountain 🏞️ PARK listed as my go to place being one of my favorite Around the world RV and Camping Trips Challenge for entire families.

I had such a great time. In fact my only complaint would be that the fishing area is not marked with signs or anything so if no one is fishing it's a little hard to find. Very peaceful and such beautiful scenery. The people, both employees and other guests, were all extremely pleasant and friendly.

Nice park. Needs some repairs; roads are rough, some sites need repair, shower floors need tiles. Quite a few sites face away from the lake. Tight roads in some loops for large rigs. Was not expecting the $20.00 entry fee, even to get into the park to access the campground. I will definitely go back though.

This park is beautiful one of the best ones we have stayed in. Pool was closed so pumper for the grandkids. Clean park very friendly staff. The Commons great food and staff. Some things were closed the Train ride, activities part of park. Other eating place by Sky lift closed. Top of Stone Mountain had popcorn chips and drinks, ice cream, nachos , pretzel. Very expensive Popcorn was $4.20 by its self. Beautiful lake alot of trails to walk. Golf ⛳ course and Club House. Camp ground store closes at 5pm daily.

We stayed with our big dogs and had a great time. The area was beautiful. The maintenance team were Beyond Amazing. They came out Christmas Eve in the dark to take care of a broken water elbow when we had arrived. The Weather was freezing Temps & the water was shooting out like a glacier! They were great people!! We want them to know how appreciative & grateful we were!! RV area had full hook-ups and public washrooms. We never needed to leave the park. We would come back if in area again!

The campgrounds are great for all types of camping. Our last visit we stayed in a Yurt. We also have utilized the RV and tent areas in the past. The "comfort station" aka restroom has remained consistent in cleanliness and function. The Yurt is extremely comfortable and spacious, great views and each has different outside amenities.

It's a nice campground. Been here many times over the years. 1 disappointment is the roads inside several of the loops have gotten bad... mostly due to tree roots... but they could do maintenance & make them much better... sadly... they have let them deteriorate. They have built several newer sections. Nice roads there. The difference between them & the older sections is significant. Hope they take better care of their park & keep it nice.
Noah Toton
Great campsite with plenty of sites. Has some great views of the lake and of stone mountain. Has nice showers and amenities.
Carole Rubio
Just love this campground — wonderful lake shore sites. Second time i am coming back.

This is an amazing park! Friendly staff, great sires, water/power working, pet friendly, and the facilities are clean and functional.
Shoutout to Rebecca for checking us in at the main entrance! She was so fun and friendly!!
Highly recommend a stay for at least a week! We're sad we only stayed one night!!
Riley
Very beautiful the hike to the top of the mountain isn’t very bad but very scenic and pretty amazing sunset views at top of mountain great lake for paddle boarding or kayaking I would recommend site 94 it has amazing views of lake

Very nice campground, well kept, nice facilities, serene picturesque, views. We were there for Thanksgiving and the beginning of the Christmas schedule, we felt fortunate to have been there at that time.
There was nothing I would say had to be different. I the worst thing I could say was that seemed as if we were an annoyance to some of the counter people
Deborah Schneide
Friendly staff, amazing views. Will definitely come again!
Melissa Sorrow
We came to visit Stone Mountain Park for Christmas. The loop we stayed in was nice, easily accessible and super clean. We enjoyed seeing all the campers decorating their sites for Christmas. The staff was super friendly. We will visit this campground again
Orion Maier
A very well kept campground with simple check-in policies. The bathrooms are very clean and have hot water. The primitive tent sites have the best views of the mountain and the lake.
Robert S`
Great place to visit. Wish the office was open more hours than just 9-5. Also seems if you buy propane here, it must be special because it's more $ than I've ever heard of. I arrived after hours and crossed my name off a nightly check-in. Bad weather moved through and they were kind enough to send an email warning us to pull in the awnings, and put away anything you didn't want to get wet.
Robert Derek Holden
This is a very nice campground. There are tent sites up to full hookups and they also have campers and yurts to rent. There are plenty of things to do within the campground and also within the park. The comfort stations were clean and never crowded.

(From my notes: We actually stayed here last year. 8/26/21)
In addition to sites fees, there is also a $20 parking fee. You only pay this once when camping. I did not like that!! There is a lot to see and do here, but everything has an additional cost. Very expensive park. Look online to see what all they have. A few things: Skyride, Train, etc. Lots for children.
There are some really nice sites on the water. Those were hard to get. Our site was terrible. They dug it out, so it was like we were in a topless cave. The walls were high and the site was narrow. There were dead trees all above us. When pulling in our neighbors warned us a limb fell on camper that just left.
There is a lake all around the park, you can swim, or kayak.
The best sites there were probably, 280, 282, 284, 291, 354, 356. Site 354 looked to be the best site. Its in the blue zone, which is Electric & Water only.
There are different zones in the campground, blue, red, etc. We were in red. Which was full hookup with cable. Our zone had bathrooms with showers which were quite nice and clean and big!
If you have children, its a good expensive place to stay. Just be choosy on your site. I would stay here again if children were with me.

This is a big campground!
🚾Bathrooms aren’t the best. Need some updating. They are big! I didn’t use the shower 🚿 but my husband did and he said the temp and water pressure was good just very old.
🧺 Laundry room was horrible, I didn’t get to do laundry because there was only 1 working washer and 3 dryers, very dirty.
Spaces were ok, good distance from other individuals but our spot wasn’t level. We have spot 370 which was a pull through.
Lots of hills here, quiet though.
WiFi was eh hit or miss if it worked well.
🗑️ They do trash pick up between 9-4 pm.
There are many things to here and they have plenty of seasonal things. They even have a gondola you can take to go to the top of Stone Mountain!
Price was a bit expensive 💰 for only 2 nights but not as bad as Nashville lol!
Nice place to visit! 🍁 🍂

It’s convenient and fun but it’s cold at night and the ground is hard and unlevel not to mention there was a strange man who refused to have his own phone yet also asked to borrow one of ours to make a phone call. It was weird. The map is upside down according to north. The clerk at the front desk drew on our first map with permanent marker making it impossible to read road names. She should use a normal pen and not a marker. Make sure to get a tent fitting one extra person than you planned because it can get cramped quickly. Especially if you keep some stuff in the tent. Otherwise it’s pretty good otherwise quiet camp neighbors. I’d say about 4.8 only subtracting .02 points.

I want to write a review on Stone Mountain Park Campground's permanent RV Rentals because I couldn't find one before we left. I looked everywhere yet no pictures or reviews on them. First off, they are awesome!
They are located right next to the Yurts with an amazing view of the water. The site is so pretty, it had me sold before we opened the RV doors. But when we did, I was pleasantly surprised. They appeared quite new (we went Christmas 2020) and very clean. No musty odor or unpleasant smells. I was very happy especially being sight-unseen.
We had all the luxuries of home with a stove, oven, full refrigerator, sink, bathroom, etc. yet felt like we were "clamping" when we stepped outside. The bathroom was hooked up to permanent plumbing, so no worries about emptying tanks or short showers. And the water was HOT which was really nice because it was 18 degrees when we were there.
The rentals have a heat pump so on those freezing nights, we were comfortable inside. We did need to ask for a space heater because, well, I'm from Florida and the heat pump was working overtime with the freeze outside... but the staff was soooo accommodating and friendly. In fact, they came out Christmas Eve at 9pm which was so kind of them... we were thankful.
Overall my family and I were so happy with the permanent RV Rentals onsite at Stone Mountain Park Campground. Two thumbs up!

We really liked this campground, we had a level campsite with a grille, deck and pick-nick table. Good shade and roads to ride our bikes. Nice new restrooms and showers.
Jeff Oliver
The remodeled part if the campground is very nice.
Areas where it has not been remodeled is absolutely awful.
I only gave it a 4 star because you have to pay for a $20.00 parking pass just to get in, even if you don't do any of the attractions.
Martin Tipton
We stayed at Site 159 in the Purple section. It was conveniently located to the general store and the shower house. The view of the lake was obstructed by foliage, but neighboring sites seemed to have a clearer view. The sites are not stacked on top of each other like other campgrounds, with plenty of green space in-between. Our site also featured a small deck with a dedicated gas grill.
All in all, the visit was pleasant. Unfortunately most of the attractions were closed. We were across the road from what appeared to be a nice little playground, but it was closed. The mini golf, train, and Halloween festivities were limited to Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. There are plenty of things to do in Atlanta, but we stayed around the park and avoided the Atlanta traffic. It didn't take long for the family to get bored, so we packed up and left a day early. If you're a golfer or carrying a boat/kayak, you'll find much more to entertain yourself with.
The wife and daughter used the shower house. They reported that the outside was very attractive, but that the shower floor and walls needed to be cleaned.

This is a beautiful campground that we have been going to for years. There is lots of stuff to do like hike, fish, play on playgrounds, walk around, talk to folks, roast s’mores, and much more. I suggest to go on Thanksgiving week, the weather is beautiful and there is lots to do during this week. You and your family will LOVE it. Remember though to book in a year advanced. Loved it!
Ay Jay
This is a beautiful park. There are so many hidden gems here you really have to take a few days to explore it. The camping area just got some nice upgrades. Lighted walkways, paved roads and closer primitive tent sites add more value to glamping experience in a yurt or the RVs that are available to rent. The flat water lake is perfect for small water crafts like kayaks, canoes and stand up paddle boards. There are several trails that run along the lake for a nice hike. The lakeside pavilion has a fireplace, ceiling fans and a deck with plenty of room for large parties to enjoy their events. I suggest buying the annual pass for $40 as opposed to the day pass that cost $20. There is much to do and see at this park for the entire family. I'm sure you'll return to the park after your first visit.

Another lovely weekend at Stone Mountain Park. We stayed in C Loop up the hill with a beautiful view of the Lake. L loop is newly renovated and we look forward to trying it out again. A walking bridge is nearly finished and will make it easier to get from L to the office and pool.
RVers are such nice people, friendly and helpful. My husband got a pail out of a tree for the kids next to us and you'd have thought it was Christmas!
Only problem was a deer that attempted to jump over us as it barreled out of the woods. It's fine, the car not so much! 25mph in the park helped make the incident not a problem...just an inconvenience.
Joshua Harrell
We stayed two nights in site 365. The views were beautiful, site was clean, and spacious. The staff during check in were friendly and helpful. However I have to deduct one star for two reasons. The first is the horribly unlevel site and condition of the roads in our loop. Roots are devastating the road in causing some bumps to be unavoidable and almost a foot tall. Second is the flat price to enter the park in addition to the price of the site. This should be combined, in my opinion. Hope this helps your next stay! The sites closer to the office were much nicer and recently redone. So stay up there and pay the extra if you're visiting.
Chuck Frey
Clean, safe, pretty place that was great for my family as we are full time RVers. Nice maintained pads. Even the non premium concrete pads were nice. We were on the L loop.
During this cold and rainy week the power went out for the entire state park. Charlie who was the after hours host was great. He was aware of our family needs with temps in the 20s.
JP D
The campground was great but we stayed in a yurt and I gave 4 stars because of the matress. Ot was the least supportive thing ever. And the box spring is so cheap you can hear it outside the yurt when moving on it. Its so loud I'm surprised my kids didn't wake in more when I was tossing and turning. I was walking to the bathroom late at night and could hear other people's matress walking past other yurts. Lol the view was great though.
Kathryn Friedlund
Nice place!
We stayed two nights, didn't do any of the attractions of stone mountain.
Nice wooded campground. We stayed site 303. We only saw our area and didn't venture out to the rest of the campground but what we saw was nice.
I used the laundry facilities and they were great. Dryers ran hot so 40 min was plenty to dry a full load.
$15 to park but it's a one time fee and they give you a pass to hang in your window.
No issues and no complaints. Very quiet on our side.
Only 30 min or less to the things we wanted to see around Atlanta.
Would return!

Stone Mountain Campground was a very good place to spend Memorial Day weekend (during COVID-19).
We stayed from May 26 to May 28 and paid a total of $76. We stayed on site #198 which is excellently located with a great view of the mountain.
Due to COVID-19 Stone Mountain Park attractions were closed, but the hotels, golf courses and natural areas including Grist Mill, Covered Bridge, Quarry Exhibit and hiking trails were still open so we had fun wandering around even though it was rainy.
There is a general store to buy last minute necessities pretty well stocked, a laundry room, and the bathrooms were pretty close to the sites which were super clean as well.
The booking site is very easy, and the staff is super friendly. Would recommend staying here.

Tony Phil
Wonderful campground. Beautiful setting. Well run. Very friendly staff. Truly one of the best. Lots to do as well so it can be a combo vacation...part camping part tourist fun at the mountain.
Rick Ewart
I really liked this campground. Was in the area for work so I didn't really get to enjoy things fully but would really like to go back to relax and enjoy it. Was on the Red loop, backed up to the water. View was awesome. Can imagine how pretty or would be in the summer when the trees are full of leaves.
Eric Cobi
Favorite RV park that I've been to. Het a spot away from the check in / pool because that's crowded. Lots of trails nearby for hiking. I had a lake view spot and loved it.
Brent Hunter
This is beautiful campground for tent camping or RVs. I highly recommend the yurts - nice accommodations and fantastic views of the lake and the mountain! There are some amazing lake views throughout the campground. There are picnic tables, fire rings and grills at each camp site as well as electric water hookups. The restroom and shower facilities are well maintained. The pricing is very reasonable and they offer discounts of Stone Mountain park admission for campers as well.
J Marinelli
Picturesque, quiet and away from it all.... albeit not to far from Atlanta. A great escape from the lockdown and explore some of the most beautiful countryside you will see just west of the Appalachia’s. Camping is very reasonable and the registration staff is very kind and helpful. I am on a slow ride from Chicago to Florida ... spending a few days here is just perfect on the journey.
jm lindley
We stayed in the blue section which is an older section and has less accommodations. Our site was on the lake and had a beautiful view of the mountain and lake. Roads and sites were paved in this area but pavement was crumbling in spots due to aging and roots. Newer area near the park entrance and pool was in better condition. Campground included a small store, pool, playground and activities building with scheduled events for campers to participate in such as bingo and ice cream social. Staff was helpful and super friendly. Facilities are clean and well maintained.
Mi P.
We got the lake view side, peaceful at night but you will still hear the traffic noise.
People at check in place really helpful.
You will need to pay $20 parking fee for 2 nights camp.
The $6 wood/bundle only last for 30 mins.
Danelle Marie
Didn't actually camp there, had to dump our RV. It's open all year round and non-campers pay a fee, but there isn't another close. So we appreciate them.
Deldrick Ellsberry
Im not a huge fan of camping but still, this wasnt my idea of what it would look like, but what do I know...."Im not a huge fan of camping". We stayed in one of the Yurts and also tents outside. Pedal boating, fishing, bike riding...kids had a good time.
Grant Schweitzer
I love stone mountain park and I have an emotional connection to the entire place so I am kind of biased, but the campground was great either way. It had plenty of great tent and RV spots available (on the beautiful lake and golf course), but some of the spots were a little small in size. The RV spots each had grills, electricity, and waste disposal connections with some even featuring small wooden decks. The bathrooms and showers were very clean and the office/corner store was perfect with friendly employees. The campground also has Yurts, Tents, and small rv's available for rentals. The Hurts and Rv's were decorated and furnished with amazing and rustic furniture. I did not see inside the tents.
Sterling Rodriguez
The bomb. We made a mad dash here for one day to camp in a tent with our family of 6 kids 15 to 6 months. Totally enjoyed it. Wish we had more time. Definitely coming back soon. The nights and mornings are cool and Serene.
Steve Harrison
Great campground, clean and plenty of things to do.
Alvin Walker
Glad we came before they take it down. The stone relief is breathtaking. It seems everyone is a little to PC to talk who the men are or what they did. Heard more about Sherman than Lee, Davis or Jackson. The people working the park are about 50-50. Half are nice and half are NOT. Staying two days, plenty long enough. The grounds are beautiful.
Jorge Sotres
Excellent place to enjoy a family time. Kids love to explore the area. Super great shadow on huge pine trees 🌲. Simple a lovely place. …
Cyndi Braski
Lovely campground. Loved the trash valet pick up service. Our view of the lake was nice. They had a grill and table too. We enjoyed all the park activities and will return.
David Jenzen
I love Stone Mountain Campground don't get me wrong but, it needs some love. They appear to be working on it and upgrading things and I hope they keep moving on it. We stayed on the O loop which has not been rebuilt yet. The roads need to be repaired. The sites need to be reworked and leveled and smoothed out. The sites need to be cleaned and blown off. The bathroom and shower were clean but are older. Everything is usable and the view of the lake is spectacular. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.
The other I noticed is several of the other loops have full time campers. I can't believe they are all volunteers working here. I don't like parks where campgrounds allow long term camping. Maybe this is all from the crazy covid times but hopefully the park will get back on track and be the awesome park it was in the past.
Please don't let my review keep you from coming to the park, it's still a great place to visit.
Deb Popson
We had a lovely time! Beautiful, wonderful amenities, nice people. The views, the trails, the park... this was a wonderful stay.
Jonathan Dang (Jona)
Went during an off season and the campgrounds were very quiet and secluded. Bathrooms were very clean and the trash pick up service was highly convenient! Had an amazing view of the lake and mountain from where I stayed! The sites themselves were also very clean and obviously well maintained and free from anything that might damper a trip!
Morty Okun
Very nice camping in r.v. park. Kids have a very nice play ground. And s hill to ride down on. All in all 5 star place.
Deidre Runyan
The RT:s we're great. Campsites are kept as clean as they can, people need to pick up after themselves. Comfort statios are nice. Unfortunately most attractions we're closed or quite expensive. Go to get back to nature for a less expensive trip or bring some $$$ to see everything.

Stayed in a yurt on the lakes edge. Room to sleep 5 or 6 people. Nice deck attached to the back of the yurt overlooking the lake. Very clean and well maintained restrooms with very cool A/C. Laundry room was small with very outdated equipment. Well stocked store on site for basics. Security could have been a little better, people were playing loud music late into the night. I finally had to approach the campers and ask them to turn it down...they seems offended but it was 11pm...
Tonja Brunner
The campground is a little confusing but it is a nice campground that has a good playground we stayed in a yurt which I am joy to the yard it was nice to be on the Lake have heat and electricity. But my biggest complaint is how far away from the bathroom they are when you have To go to the bathroom in the middle of the night it is hard to tell where you're supposed to go when you do find out after the 1st day or 2 it is quite a journey
Lawrence English
My wife and I along with my sister and three dogs have been here close to five years and this place is top notch!
Uncle Rico
The yurts are beautiful! Located on an amazing lake with awe-inspiring of Stone mountain, these air conditioned yurts are extremely comfortable. Highly recommended!
Allen M
Nice camp grounds. Spaces are tighter than what we are used to but with all the stuff to do there no need to spend much time at camp. WiFi that is advertised is border line lie. There is wifi there but with speeds a fifth (11kbs) of what dial up used to be it is unusable for even email. The pool is great for the kids. And a playground that makes me wish I was a kid again. No need to cook breakfast when a continental breakfast equivalent to a mid to low range hotel is cooked for you at the pavillion. One thing is for sure the staff is some of the nicest people around.

Wish I could say more. Average campground if your not using the amusement park amenities. Or golfing. Roads to camping loops need repair. Lots of pot holes. Site average not picked up trash in firepit. Actually only seen staff picking up bagged trash at sites. Drove past trash in roadway for three days. We ended up picking it up. Camp store had limited supplies. Staff was friendly. Bathrooms were dated but clean.
Samantha Farrow
Our campground tent location was beautiful. I want to mention that the staff at this park really made our stay memorable because they are so kind and helpful. There is a small convenience store next to where you check in for your stay so if you forget toiletries or water/campfire logs and starter logs, they have a good selection of the essentials there! We had to leave early because of rain/weather and they provided us with a “rain check slip”, which saved our remaining days so that we can use it towards our next visit! This campground seems perfect for families because they have cool events throughout the year. Can’t wait to come back!
Jay Gallagher
The campsite was clean, friendly staff. The inside camping roads in need of repair a lot of the older campsites are not level hard to get RVs and fifth wheels leveled. Stone mountain and the attractions are great nice laser show at night would recommend will be back soon
Deborah J.
Good campground. Needs more detailed information about camping sites on website map.
Rizan Martin
This is the front view of our campsite- #189. But this view is more of for campsite #190. Next time, we'll get that site. Hehehe it's my second visit in this campsite and I still love it especially waking up in the morning listening to the sound of the birds, the peaceful feeling.
Daniel Learn
Nice place lots of primitive spots right on the lake though you are not supposed to swim. Our camping spot was a little tight for an 8 person tent; 4-6 person tent would most likely be perfect size. Some spots around looked a bit bigger but keep this in mind. Additionally the spot we had was quite rocky where we set the tent so I'd advise a tarp underneath to protect your tent. Our spot also did not have much room for folding chairs but there was a picnic table other spots look to be better suited for bringing your own chairs and table if you desire. Also a nice view of stone mountain.
Stacey Martin
We love the campground and the park...and even the golf course and food there too! When you camp there, you can do many things in the park too.
Michelle Marcoux
Very nice and huge place! We enjoyed the peaceful scenery. Staff was friendly. Loved our spot! The actual Stone Mountain was beautiful and at night they did fireworks every night as well!
Brianne Rogers
We camped here, and it was so beautiful. Far enough away from the city, but close enough to drive there. We did primitive camping, so we were right on the lake, which was beautiful, and we could see the big rock right from inside our tent. The staff is very friendly, and the campground store has everything you need, and is reasonably priced. We would definitely camp here again!;)
Shea McClung
I wish we had more time to explore the park. We only stayed two nights. This park has so much to offer you need to plan for a minimum of a week.
Steven Carter
Nice relaxing place. Plenty of room to park even the larger RV's. The only issue I have is having to buy a parking pass for the park when I have paid for camping. I feel it should be included in the price.
Dorothy fleurie
Stay in a rental camper in July lived it had everything we needed !!! ❤️❤️❤️
Amalia Schaad
The best place ever to camping, so clean and if you really like the nature that place is for you
Omar H
This beautiful park has so much to offer for anyone visiting it.
Wether you want to camp out or have your own RV, this place will accommodate anybody's needs.
Maynard Valeriano
My home gym to workout and paddle on the lake with my SUP or kayak. Our best kept secret for active hikers, bicyclists, runners and water paddlers. Team Mekong Dragonboat trains here. 1st Place GrandChampions of the Nashville Dragonboat Race October 2022.
Paula Shawber
Check in was pleasant! Our site is great!!! The views are amazing. Staff is very pleasant! I can’t say enough about this park. Many recent upgrades have taken place recently. Very happy and highly recommend.
Self
We had a great, but too short time! Our only hiccup was that we planned on using the park shuttle to got to Snow Mountain and found out they do not offer the shuttle in the winter. We used Uber instead and had no issues.
Ricardo Pinheiro
Beautiful place. Close to all attractions and very close to Walmart in case you forget something. The employees are kind. The restroom is clean.
Wanda Harigan
My grandkids and I really enjoy coming to Stone Mountain Park and staying at the campsite we usually spend a week every time we come is a beautiful place and all the employees are nice friendly and helpful would recommend to anyone. my only downside this time is one single night and perimeter of camping for almost $50 what steep that was kind of ridiculous. Especially when I usually pay between 160 and 170 sometimes for almost a whole week.
david orce
Fabulous staff, very helpful and friendly. Clean, well organized and quite campground. The duck boats were a lot of fun, very entertaining and educational.
Estefan Olivares
As soon as the mountain crested the trees I felt the irresistible urge to climb that mountain. It was breathtaking and enormous.
The lift to the top costs about 15$ for a round trip. There is a musuem at the bottom and while you have to pay for all the attractions to view everything the movie about the monument carved into the side is free to view.
Yes this place has a monument carved on the side, which my family and I were unaware of. It is a carving of three 'heroes ' from the Confederate side of the civil war.
For those camping in RV the campground has a gorgeous view of the lake. There is a trash service before 4pm and many sites have full hook ups. The roads are very bumpy mind you from all the roots disrupting the pavement and your will be facing many hills. We have a personal washing machine but you aren't allowed to dump soapy water so unless you can funnel it into the sewer or wash it inside it's the laundromat for washing clothes.
Breaking Atrophy
I’m a wheelchair user and never been able to go camping with my wife (married 12 years), until now!! The wheelchair accessible Yurts were absolutely perfect! Doors are nice and wide enough, flat surfaces made it easier for transferring etc. paved handicap parking spot is awesome. We can’t wait to visit again real soon!
Stephen Beall
Staying in the Tent/Pop up area is fantastic! No large RV generators runnimg all night nor lots of exterior lights makes for a quiet, outdoors experience. The bath house lacked a place fir the clean, dry clothes to rest during my shower, but the shower was nice and hot. All in all a great place ti camp
Deneen Berseth
We had a great stay at the East campground. We hiked up Stone Mountain which was tough but worth it! Wish I would have brought my SUP with as our site was right on the water. Staff were really friendly and I loved the frequent rounds staff made to collect garbage and provide security.

We were really looking forward to liking this campground much more than we did. Stone Mountain Park is a beautiful place located just outside Atlanta and feels very secluded, though it’s very near lots of dining and shopping options. The campground portion of the park, though, leaves much to be desired if you’re not fortunate enough to snag a premium site. The premium area appears to be well maintained with level sites, in addition to its lovely views of the lake and the mountain. Our site was in loop M and felt like it was complete ignored regarding ground maintenance. Our site, #254, was in serious need of grading as it was unlevel front to back and side to side, wreaking havoc with our normal process and costing us nearly two hours to ensure we’d feel safe with the outcome for our two week stay. In addition, there was very little gravel and it was a very good thing we have an oversized outdoor mat (9x18) as the site became a giant mud pit with even brief rains. As we walked around, we noted a great deal of wash on several of the sites as they, too, had very little gravel. Very disappointing to deal with these kind of issues in a park that is so beautiful in so many ways and could so easily be a true destination campground with a bit more TLC. If you have a large rig and plan to visit, ensure you get a premium site or you may want to rethink your plans.
Carmen Maines
We spent several days at the campground. We had space 264 with full hookup and a view of the lake. It was a lovely area and everything worked well. Lots of beautiful trees with fall colors. Wifi was very sketchy but cable was decent and the roads need some work but all-in-all it's a great campground in a beautiful setting. The young lady at check-in named Theo (can't remember the rest of her name) was very helpful when I asked if there was a another spot. After seeing that 261 didn't have enough room to open the awning she was able to put us in 264-much more room. We now have annual tickets to the park so we'll definitely be back.
Chandler Whittington
We stayed in the popup/tent site with power and water hookups for two nights. Camp sites were very clean. Getting onto the trails that take you through the camp sites could be difficult or impossible in a car due to the site having a large dip off. BE WARNED: We camped in May, 85° and we had a Thunderstorm the first night, and it was very humid, which isn't a problem, the problem is that we got home and all of our gear was filled with carpenter ants, thousands of them. It took us over an hour to pull everything out knock the ants off and get rid of them. Other then that beautiful place and I would recommend taking the sky lift to the top of the mountain.
ella spann
Very family-friendly place. A little overpriced for the sky car. Parking isn't bad but it costs about $15. If you ask me, I live in Atlanta so it isn't that far and a getaway from the city. 💕 …
Kip Cadoret
The sites are not that big but the views of the lake and access to the park make up for that. Level sites with full hookups. Laundry facilities were clean and functional.
Tear_Delight
Great place to bring the family amd camp
Mike Ware (吴威尔)
Clean and well maintained. Many sites have steep entrances and not very level.
David P
The staff is helpful and diligent and the grounds are well kept.
However, the provided wifi is barely enough to surf, nowhere near enough to stream, and I would not suggest trying to get any work done since it drops out randomly.
Olivier Tallon
Very nice campground, great amenities. Only negative I found was that there was no place to wash dishes for the tent sites; a few sinks would be great.
Kimberly White
Open for business. Maskatory, social distancing. Handicapped accessible, Christmas and Holiday lights. You want some family fun, bring the whole family to the RV park. Camp out, enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Didn't know RVs were so cool.
Heather Swearingen
If we ever get out this way again we will definitely stay here. We stayed in site 337 in our 40 foot motorhome. Right on the water with wonderful views. The only issue we had was uber/Lyft not being able to pick us up at our site without paying a $5 fee. We didn't mind reimbursing them, but the drivers weren't prepared for that.
Penne Howard
Very well kept!
Veronica Rambo
Lovely campground with something for every camper. Lots of shade, clean sites. We'd definitely stay again.
Kristi Robey
Camping is really nice here.
Bob Cherveny
Just got here but no doubt this is one best parks we've stayed at. And we've been in all 50 states.
Dian Henderson
We had an amazing camping trip. This place is so beautiful.
Jesse Shears (Jesse)
The old stone mtn quarry
Christian Ryan
Good view of the mountain from the camp itself. Bathrooms are kinda yuck. But other then that its a decent camp.
A Puzekat
Awesome family place. Excellent experience in our Yurt.
Stephen Hattabaugh
Great campground...sites not soo much. Gravel, tight, nor level...will try the premium sites next time.
Jamie Lienhardt
We had a great time in a nice "resort"...however, the roads within the campground need some attention. Driving an RV across roads with ruts, potholes and deep cracks is not ideal for vehicles. A bit of attention to the road conditions is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED so it will make the experience much better. The "premium" area of the campsites should have a washer/dryer area so you don't have to go across the park to do your laundry. We enjoyed our stay and will be back with our families and friends.
Barkley Epperson
This place had a great playground and the bath houses were extremely clean I was very impressed with it
Brenda Harrington-Ireland
The park is well laid out and has really nice clean RV sites.
Louise Price
Fabulous campground with lots of family activities. Let be the historic area!
Matt Kicklighter
Excellent experience. We stayed in a yurt for 3 days. Everything was clean and well maintained. The bathroom/shower facilities were very clean with hot water. Definitely recommend.
Geo Torres
Spent 3 days here as a first time camper with 20ft RV. Premium lot, full hookup , close to children’s playground and pool. First time camping with my RV and it was a good experience.
Dandi Gentry
We really like staying at the campground at stone mountain. Only reason we didnt give 5 stars is because the bathrooms were dirty and the air didn't work in them
Gary Riemer
The campground provides all the features for an enjoyable and relaxing stay. Depending on where you camp in the campground you could have a awesome view of Stone Mountain as we did . We camped next to the lake along one of the lower loops. But make sure to ask the staff when booking about the road condition on the loop your selecting. A couple roads are very rough and steep with mounds and irregular surface conditions that require caution.
Robert Holden
Just a beautiful campground with incredible staff! We were in a site on the lake with Stone Mtn in the background. Stone Mtn is a 5 min drive or easily bike able. There is what appears to be a really nice restaurant on the golf course, which is next door. The tram ride was excellant snd worth the time and money. What a view!!!
Lisa Gnoza
Nice campground but a little pricey. You have to pay $20 to enter the park on top of your site reservation costs. Some of the sites are alittle too close together but the campground itself was very pretty, quiet and very clean.
T Show
This is a beautiful park! I love the tall trees and the lake. It is very shady. I love the fact that the campground recycles, too. Most of the time it was pretty quiet. Like most campgrounds these days, you're all pretty close together, but the wooded areas made it tolerable. The road in our section was a bit rough, so be careful on M street. It was difficult to level the trailer and I noticed lots of folks with some extreme leveling techniques. This park is expensive-don't forget you have to pay a $20 park entrance fee in addition to your camping fee. I wish you could get a camping-only pass or something. We were staying here just to visit folks in the area. It was still a mostly good experience. The main reason for only 4 stars is the laser show. Yes, this is still a campground review. Apparently, for the month of July, at least, they are having the laser show every night. This means lots of fireworks. Dogs and fireworks do NOT typically go together. I noticed that 4 out of 5 campsites had dogs in them, including us. The park absolutely must tell potential campers about this. It can be a big problem for some of us. With the other pros to staying at the park, I will still recommend them, though, for now.
Edward Prosienski
Enjoyed our 4 day stay here. Very good level RV pad but the loop road we were on was very poor. Did not use pool or other stuff.
Lisa Waterman
This place was difficult for me to rate. There were good and bad points. The staff was very helpful. The night check in was unique and easy. The view from our camp site was amazing. The place was very clean.
The sites were poorly marked. We even set up almost completely in the wrong site at first. The entrance and exits of the sites were difficult to identify. We arrived after dark and the lighting was non- existant so following the road, finding the road, was difficult. The roads are very narrow, hilly and difficult to maneuver.
Brad Baker
Great place! Awesome view of the mountain from H62!
Wesley Sullivan
Camping for a few nights r@r
Big place nice and quiet
Dave Ellegood (#FatAstro)
Beautiful area with many attractions. Very safe.
Campsites in the "yellow" are not very flat. If you can preview the site before you commit, do it!
Gary Jordan
Beautiful area. Campsites are old and look it. Roads are narrow and sharp turns.
Henry Haywood Jr
Most beautiful campgrounds I've seen.
Rick Coffman
Narrow roads into sites, but big rigs are in here. Water front sites have awesome views.
Shon Bayne
Much more to do than I expected. Very cool stuff and a must visit when visiting the mountain
Cheryl Stolz
What a place! Beautiful, clean, well maintained campground and State park. Well shaded campground surrounding lake with wide variety of rv sites. Many different types of rentals to include yurts on water with deck, established tent, rv with deck, and more.
Need to read about State park. Lots to do that you don't normally see but was closed during the week because of the season during our stay. Great for all ages.
Mike T
Plenty to bike or hike in the day. At night the fwy and road noise is still far away. Just downside is firewood is soft and it burns weak. Get your own somewhere else.
Mahi Pressure Cleaning Services
Had an amazing time staying in a yurt here around Christmas time. Beautiful lakeside views and beautiful inside the yurts.
DeidreA M.
Second time staying and had an amazing time. The booking agent was helpful in securing a suitable spot for our 43’ toy hauler so we could comfortably use the back deck and the on-site staff were very courteous. It is a bit pricey but well worth it! Walking, hiking, biking, kayaking - all within a naturally beautiful setting. We hiked to the top of the mountain. There were all walks of life from old to young, fit and not-so-fit, all ethnicities, urging each other on...it was a truly rewarding and enjoyable experience.
Pat Morris
It is a beautiful place to go. The enormous
mountain consists of granite.
There are many things to see and do. There is a trail to walk up the mountain. You can walk all the way around the mountain.
There is a very large and nice campground by the lake. It is the largest campground in Georgia.
There is a train ride to go on. In the warmer months and at Christmas time there is a Lazer Show on the side of the mountain.
There are pavilions for
gatherings and picnic areas with tables. There is a hotel and another place for lodging. There are places to buy food. Our children and grandchildren go there often in the summer for the Lazer Show and the train ride. We live not far
from Stone Mountain Park. My husband has worked in catering and now in the campground for many years since he retired from his job back in 1999.
There are many repeat guests at the campground. Our children have camped there before.
There are many things for the children to do. There are different things to do at Christmas time.
I have been going to Stone Mountain Park since I was a little girl.
There are many more things than I even know about.
R Ezell
Great time with the kids at Stone Mountain Park Family Campground. Easy process online to reserve spot and smooth check in process with proper precautions in place. Site was easily found and accessible to parking and restrooms. Weather was good for camp set up but a tornado warning from Hurricane Delta kept us huddled at the restroom building for an hour or so. We survived. Lake views from our site were magnificent. Lots of wildlife. Hiked up the mountain on day 2 in the rain and wind. Got soaked. We survived. Lots of good memories and got the kids outside. Bathrooms and showers were kept clean even in the rain soaked weather. Others could be better committed to leaving no trace as small pieces of evidence( bottle caps, straw wrappers etc were left behind. Could've been a bit cooler for tent sleeping but we survived. Definitely recommend the campground. We'll be back.
Brad Chamberlain
We stayed in the M loop right on the water in a nice level site with full hook ups. The campground was at about 75% + capacity over the weekend. People were friendly but tended to keep their distance. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The loop we were on had not been refurbished in a while and the road to sites was rough and the sites were worn from heavy use. Everything worked, just showed a lot of wear. We enjoyed our stay at the campground and toured some of the refurbished sites (they looked nice).
Jennifer Hendry
We had a great time here. It was our very first RV stop ever so we would have liked to see roads that were more level but overall we had a great time.
Jason Stair (ShinObi-Wan Kenobi)
It was a bit crowded. But the facilities were clean and the tent pad was flat.
Daniel Bennett
This campground is expansive and had a lot to offer just within the campground. Stone Mountain offers a fair amount to do as well.
Our only complaint is that the roads need to be better cared for. The pavement on our pull through campsite was completely washed out. And there are potholes throughout.
Denis Taillon
We stayed in the remolded section. One of the nicest parks we have stayed at. Very clean. Nice wide well marked roads. Super easy back in spots. The best laid out campground I've been at. Sites are very level. Only negative was the pool was closed. Will definitely be back.
Amanda Kennedy
The campground check in was very easy and the staff was very friendly. The site was a full hook up site that included a small charcoal grill, fire ring, water, electric, sewer and cable plus free wifi. The bathhouse was clean and the showers had plenty of hot water. All the showers are handicapped accessible.
Robert Waller
Me and my family stayed in a yurt close to the lake. It was spacious enough for the 5 of us. We really enjoyed our stay and cant wait to return.
steve s
Great place to stay. Decks at the premium sites with gas grills are nice.
Hannah Brunson
Awesome place to stay!! Great view of a Lake and the side of stone mountain. Although you cannot see the carving from the campground it is a wonderful place to stay. They have daily trash pick up and everyone we came in contact with the two weeks we stayed they were all pleasant. I would recommend this campground to people in the future.
Rik Conaghan
Great campground with great amenities and wonderful staff. The sites are well spaced out, with everything a camper may need. Add to this the views of Stone Mountain, the wooded nature of the site, and the beautiful lake makes for a fantastic stay for young and old.
The facilities are well maintained, clean, and there are plenty of washhouse/sanitary stations dotted throughout the site. Everything was well stocked and cleaned on a regular basis, and any issues raised were rectified quickly.
While we were staying here, there was a major storm system that blew through, with tornado potential and severe weather likely. The campsite opened up a storage type area that they had to people that wanted to shelter there, as well as opening up an "open area" campsite clear of trees and overhangs for those that chose to move there temporarily, as well as giving access to preferred rates at the nearby Marriot for those who would rather ride the storm out there. The latter was our choice, based on having young kids with us, and staying in a tent. Good to know they have these types of situations thought out, and a plan in place for when they occur.
We will be visiting and staying here again, without a doubt!
Michael Avalos
Very nice spaced out Campground. it's by far one of the better state parks we've visited. Roads are rough but not anymore then others. they truly keep the feel that you're in the woods. you can rent gulf carts locally which is a plus. Visit stone mountain is great a little far with a bike and it's all up hill from the Campground. best to bring ebikes if you're not in decent shape. overall great park and Campground. Bathhouse are old but do the job.
Ken Richardson
Very beautiful place to stay. Comfortable, quiet, clean place with lots of areas to wall and enjoy.Would recommend

Beautiful, serene yet full of wildlife. If you are a bird watcher, a canoe enthusiast, camper or golfer, this is the spot for you. #CanoeAtl
Felicia Anderson
We stayed here about 3 weeks ago have one of the purple sites located in the line section. We could see the lake from our site and we never had any neighbors it was nice. The pool was closed so I hope that opens soon. Playground was also closed but kids still played on it. Our bathhouse was ok it hadn’t been upgraded yet the others in the purple and orange sections are really nice though and those sites are great. Some of the orange sites you can see the lake and Stone Mountain from so next time we go we’ll try for one of those. Camp store was nice sold things you might need and check in was easy. The gate fee to get in is steep to me and it’s a tight fit coni by into the park gates but other then that we’d definitely go again. I wish they had kayaks you could rent still but that was closed and they need a shuttle to take you to the Stone Mountain park attraction as we don’t pull a car so we didn’t want to have to un hook and drive the class a to see the later show. There cable was grainy at our site but cell reception was good so we just used our hot spot. We’ll be back soon for sure.
D Hillman
This campground is amazing just for the views. I have to say The designer missed the big picture. The sites should be facing the opposite way. The hookups should be opposite of the view side. That being said we would still come back. Cost was high at $70 a night. The park is a focussed on the money, like an amusement park. There are a lot of free activities and sites that are beautiful if you like to hike, like Stone Mountain itself.
Alyyreising
We stayed here last month while traveling on vacation. Very nice quiet campground.
John Moody
We had a beautiful view of the lake from our campsite and will definitely stay here again! The office staff at checkout were very friendly
Bob Walk
We have stayed at this campground twice and had a wonderful experience both times. The first time we had problems with the cable and two staff members came to our site and spent over an hour trying to figure it out. The final conclusion was a problem with our TV. The second time I came solo because my wife couldn’t get off in time to help me set up. I was very nervous since I have backed a camper into a camp site only once before. When I mentioned that to the lady at checkout she immediately radioed a staff member to meet me at the campsite to help. Not only did he help me get it parked but also gave this newbie some great advice. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the campground is spacious. The only negative is that most of their pull through sites have little room between the camper and the road. All in all, it’s a great place!
Sherri Jorge
We did a stay and play package almost 2 years ago and the kids are wanting to go back this year. The campground was great and the stay and play package was awesome. We had two days to go into the park and to come & go as needed. Our campsite was well maintained and the bathrooms were a short walk from our site. Can't wait to go again!
Ken
Quiet, relaxing setting among the trees. Great way to spend a long weekend.
Rara newton (Marley)
I love the camp ground but I didn't like that everyone was closer than what the map appeared. Also becareful about the ants in certain areas. The deers are use to people and will walk around freely. Great thing about the deers out there they want run into your car . Make your reservation early to get the great spots .
Amy Kim
Love this place. Very clean restroom and well managed.
Amanda Holt
We just got here today and so far it's been amazing! Lots of things to do and look at. Kids had room to play.
James Seals
Golf course is pretty nice. Not sure why you have to pay a park entrance fee if you are going to play the golf courses inside. Maybe have a system to refund once inside if you have tee times. Didn't utilize any other parts of the park.

We had a fantastic time camping here in our pop-up. The folks around us were incredible! The facilities were very clean, the store had just about everything you would need to have a great time camping including purchasing firewood. The playground was very nice for our children (3) children all 4 and under. We got to hike up Stone Mountain as a family for the first time. We look forward to coming back LORD willing!
May the LORD bless you!
Ryan M. from Woodstock, GA
Jim Kallam
Excellent camp ground. Very quiet, absolutely no road noise. We were in an orange premium pull-in which great view of lake out the front of the coach. The lot was very large. Enjoyed our stay
Michele Kane
This campground was beautiful. My husband and I got a campsite on the edge of the lake and was just perfect. You can watch the sunset over the water and we even got to see some fireworks over it too. This campground was very clean and for the most part pretty quiet. Since stone mountain is a great place for children there are a lot of family's and small children running around so that can lead to some noise. Overall an amazing camping trip.
Linda NeSmith
great place to visit, kid friendly, they had playgrounds, picnic area, interesting sites to visit & see...
Puck Hopkins
Amaaaaazing overnight stay in the most beautiful campground I've stayed in to date. Also the booking sites said we had to reserve and pay for a two nights minimum even though we only could stay one... the Campgrounds called us when they saw we were not there the second night and gave us a nights stay CREDIT!
We WILL be back. ♥️
Robert Mcnulty
Campground making improvements in some areas. Park has nice attractions for families. Would give 5 stars if prices were cheaper. Have most expensive nightly fees in the state. Staff is friendly and courteous.
Kimberly Holland
Very peaceful on back side by the lake.
Kristine Young
The entryway was extremely narrow. We had to pay $20 to “park” our motorhome at our campsite plus another $20 for the vehicle we towed. The roads were lettered but not marked on the map. The site was cute and had a grill, fire pit, picnic table, and gorgeous view of the lake. There was no WiFi that we could find but our Verizon signal was good enough to get online.
Unrelated to the park: Apple maps gets super confused in this area... sometimes it works, sometimes it takes you in circles. Use Google maps.
jmca d
Went back for a long weekend and was impressed how the orange sites had been upgraded/ renovated. Overall the campground gives an impression of sound management. Hope they will continue to upgrade the other loops closer to the road
Robert Phillips
Stayed at site 264. Right next to a drainage ditch. Not a terrible park but nothing to do for smaller kids. We’re used to sites a little bigger with some grass. Everyone was nice and pleasant to talk to. Probably won’t be back.
erik soko
Would have given 5 stars except there is no internet access here. There is free wifi but it doesnt work and no cell coverage. This is a must these days no matter where you are.
Holly Blake
Beautiful but $20 to get in. The entrance booths are so narrow! Careful pulling in. Watch both your mirrors. I was driving a 39' Class A with tow. Not a fun entrance.
Got there and was told I had booked a back in site. There is no way I would have booked a back in with my rig! I have a 39' rig plus tow vehicle. Neighbors said same thing, they booked pull-through and were also put in back-in. Our site wasn't very level and had roots that had broken through asphalt. Definitely made things challenging.
It's really beautiful but everything was closed after labor day. We wanted to rent a kayak but weekends only now.
We did go to the Yellow Daisy Festival and visited the Grist Mill and Covered bridge but that was the extent of our fun there.
For the price, I'm not sure it was really worth it.

Super friendly staff, very clean facilities. campsites seem close together but most of the other campers were nice and respectful with noise. My family enjoyed the little extras too that the campground provided, hayride, pumpkin painting and more. Thank you for the great memories!
Paul Holstein
Wow, what a beautiful campground. It's an older style campground that's a little tough for big rigs, but there are plenty of trees and the old quarries make beautiful lakes. Each site had a deck and a grill. I saw lots of families and people running and riding their bikes around the campground. I can't wait to take my family back and spend more time here.
Larry W Grant
Great place to take the family for a nice get away. Laser show at night in the park, free shuttle to and from if you don't wanna drive. Nice clean spots. You better book in advance if you got a favorite one, they fill up fast. Only issue I have is having to pay the parking fee when I have rented a spot in the campground for several nights. Fee should be waved for all campers. Parking sticker should come with your package. Overall it's a great place with great people, restrooms and grounds are very nice as well as the pool area...
Jeanette Witmer
Stayed in a perfect site (#323) for our 21’ travel trailer. Site was level (minor adjustments only) and the view was incredible. Loved being right next to the river. So pretty! Very clean campground and the friendliest people ever! I would definitely recommend paying the extra $ for the sites along the outside edge along the river as some of the interior pull through sites appeared to be difficult to menever in and out of.
Kimberly Kirk
Can’t wait to go back!!! We just returned from our first stay at the Stone Mountain Park Campground. We rented a Yurt and it was amazing! Super clean, very comfortable and what a beautiful view! The restrooms and showers were extremely clean and everyone was so nice! We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect stay and we are already planning our next visit!
Julie LaFond
We took our motorhome to stone mountain for our first trip. It was so nice. We stayed in a red area, with a lake front view. It was peaceful and we ended up extending our stay an extra 3 days. Beautiful place.
Candice Martinez
We have been impressed with the campground and staff. The site we got was leveled and clean with a grill and fire pit. There’s lots of places to explore. We were a little disappointed that the pool closes at 4:30 though.
Lea Anne Iles
We stayed at a paved site with full hook-ups in April, 2019. Our site was fine, but many of the sites in the campground were not level. The campground is well maintained, had lots of roads and small grassy spots to walk our dogs, a clean laundry and bathhouse. I was comfortable staying alone in the campground a couple of nights while my husband attended a practice round of the Master's golf tournament. Location was convenient - a Walmart and a few restaurants are within easy driving distance. Ride the incline to the top of the mountain and enjoy the beautiful view! Would definitely consider visiting again.
Teresa Carrithers
Nice place to stay. Older camp site and tight fit for big rigs in the 200 sites. But very nice wooded lots for full hook-ups. Call and check out the map for your spot.
Matt R
Really nice big park but most everything they may have once offered to do is still is closed. RV sites are mostly all very unlevel to the extreme. Nothing to do in the surrounding areas of the park. Worst park we have ever visited for ADA compliance. They really need to do a lot better making the park more accessible.
Matthew Marsicano
Repeat visitor to this site. It's fantastic. Campground is always clean, bathrooms cleaned several times daily. Trash picked up at the campsite twice daily. Friendly staff. Short ride to the park itself or into town.
Mary Lou Hober-Tupper
Awesome
Cannot swim in the lake, only at the pool. Pool hours were not open late enough to be able to enjoy. Being at the park during the day meant missing the pool.
Still very nice and relaxing. Very peaceful. Monument to leaders of the south, what's up with all the dinosaur stuff?
Melanie Broome
We rented a 8 person Yurt for two nights and had an excellent experience! The yurt was super bright and clean, and SO neat to stay in!! VERY Spacious!! We never had to worry if it was going to rain, like we would if we had a tent. Two things I would have liked to be better: 1) There wasn't ample parking for the yurt space.. We had 2 vehicles (one short vehicle, one long one), and only one short or average length vehicle fit in the parking space which was disappointing for a 8 person yurt, and there was no nearby parking we could walk to (for parking the second vehicle) Secondly, the yurts, while beautiful, were place SOOO close together that it really takes away some of the effect.. we could hear some of the the girls conversations fairly well who were staying in the yurt next to us! .. need to space out these yurts a little better. Definitely! Overall, the campground had the feeling that they were trying to cram as many yurts into the land space as possible.. On the positive side, I liked that their was a water spikot outside each yurt for cleaning dishes, and the back deck of the yurt had a picnic table and was a great place for meal prep :) The furniture inside the yurt was really cool - made out of logs, even the chair which was super comfy, so those aspects were neat!! The temperature control was perfect in the yurt during our entire stay.
Steve Slack
Great campground with a lot of nearby activities. Some of the RV sites are out in the open, but I like the smaller sites further in the woods near the lake. The bathhouses are kept fairly clean and are never too far away. The check in and check out is very quick.
The only issue I had were with a scout troop being far too loud at night, but that's the leader's fault, not the campground.
I will definitely stay here again.
Tricia Furby
First time camping here. The check in staff were so nice and helpful. Bathrooms and showers are spotless clean 👍. Will definitely be back for lots more camping. …
David Gerhart
Great place! Fun place for the whole family.
Watch out for the golf walls when entering or exiting the park in the early mornings since you have to drive straight through a golf course to get to the RV campground.
Gayle Karr
Beautiful views, friendly staff and excellent after hours registration. We just did overnight on our journey and it was perfect. If you have a big rig, just be careful, the roads inside the actual camping area are bumpy and narrow. We did ok with our 38' fifth wheel, just watch the trees! Would definitely go back to visit.
Jack Kerch
The yurts were not private at all. And that was a disappointment for us. And for most of the day the sun just beats down on those yurts. They do have air conditioning but you don't get any shade until the late evening. We're never going to go back to that campground
Don Asher
Park is mostly empty and quiet and clean. Sir is perfectly level but not all are. We have a grill, fire ring and picnic table. Restrooms are spotless and we'll maintained. Well worth the trip
Jack Sarfaty
Awesome campground. We stayed at orange #89. Great view and close enough to the bath house. Tons of activities once you leave the campground area and head into the park. The campground had every amenity you could want from cable to internet to sewer. Site was fairly level. We needed one block - nothing major. We'll definitely be back. Highest recommendation.
Monica Otero
The yurts are great, the views are magnificent, you can fish, has space to make a camp fire, every yurt has a charcoal grill with a table at front and has another table on the deck, you can bring a microwave or electric stove even your mine refrigerator, restrooms are decent, nice place to spend family time.
D T
We have traveled quite a bit, and this is the first campground that we were charged the 1st night of our reservation that we couldn't make due to an RV problem. We had proof of the repairs made, but the office wouldn't accept that. There is a $20 entrance fee just to get into the park. Never have been charged an entrance fee, then a nightly rate. The scenery is very pretty, but sites need new gravel. Be careful when reserving...we barely fit into our site. Due to rain and winds, a LARGE, DEAD tree fell behind our RV. Had it landed on our RV or any around, it would have been catastrophic. The park really should have a crew in to remove dangerous, dead trees, and branches. Lots of pot holes and narrow roads. Hiking is nice and well marked. The laser light show was nice.
Roger Bryant
This is our first time staying at SMP Campground. The staff is awesome and the bath houses are clean and well kept. Other than the campground is just "eh". The roads are in terrible shape and so are most of the campsites. You can tell there has been very little investment in the upkeep of the sites and the roads. The WiFi is unusable. We're right next to a bath house with full signal. The signal is great, but the bandwidth is laughable...worse than dial-up. There does appear to be some renovation going on in part of the campground but it's not accessible to the public. We'll likely come back and try it again, just hope the renovation continues throughout the campground.
Bianca Kauffman
Nice facilities! Since we have a camper it was a great place to stay and gave us the ability to make our own meals. We went to many tourist attractions around Atlanta and didn't break the bank staying in a hotel. The laser show, pyrotechnic show, was amazing. We have a 4 and almost 2 year old. It did run late but my 4 year old really loved it. We took the last shuttle at 9 for the 9:30 laser show and it took us back to the campground. We enjoyed time at the pool, playgrounds and just going for walks. Thank you for a great time!
Lisa Peterson
With the prices, your paying for the park. Sites are not worth the price. Found dog poo and egg shells at our site. Were there for 10 days. No one ever checks the sites after someone pulls out. I have a bad back and when I asked for assistance getting two bundles of firewood into my vehicle I was told "they're not that heavy." Not impressed.
Maggie Mayer
This campground exceeded our expectations. Bathrooms were fairly clean, there did not seem to be a bad campsite - it was such a beautiful location. My only disappointment was realizing that, when we left the campground the next morning to go on a college tour, we had to pay the park fee to get back in, just to be able to check out (the $15/day park entrance fee). It added $30 onto our cost of the camping fee - it would have been nice if this fee could have been included as part of our camping fee. Oh...our other disappointment was not having enough time to explore this beautiful park!
Jeff D
Beautiful place and very relaxing. Maintenance on rest rooms needs done and campground we were assigned was unlevel and large rocks where the tent had to be placed. No problem for RVs but not ideal for tents. Family enjoyed and would consider going back, definitely would with upgrades in place.
Sydni Perry
I really enjoyed my first camping experience here! My family got a really great spot and it was a much more enjoyable experience than I was expecting. The only cons I had were the bathroom was a little gross and at night some groups were extremely loud.
Darren Prevatt
Beautiful place to visit any season of the year.
mike Harris
Really love this campground but they keep down sizing some of the individual sites. Great views of the area and decent bathrooms with showers placed around each group of campers. We've been going for the last couple of years and will definitely be returning.
Pedro Mata
This is a very large campground; over 400 sites, but it's very well laid out.It is divided into several loops. Each loop is slightly different. They have all types of sites: Lakeside RV full hookup sites, to Yurts, to tent sites. Both back-ins and pull-throughs.
Well Goulart
Awesome Place, can’t wait to be coming back.
Tara Moye
My family's favorite place to camp that is inland. The campground is reasonably priced, bathrooms are clean, surrounding area is beautiful, and my 5 year old LOVES this place and that it's in Stone Mountains "backyard". I rented a yurt for the first time and while these were pricey compared to primitive sites - we LOVED it. We definetl will visit again, multiple times, and recommend to couples/families. The yurts are truly worth it!
Dan Shaeffer
Great park with lots of sites and activities (seasonal of course). Most sites are very nice it appears. We stayed on Trail A, and had to move across street as original was not suitable for a camper. Not far from shopping and restaurants if needed. Very friendly staff.
Christopher Stover
Campground is super nice. Office personnel were very nice and knowledgeable. What is terrible is you have to pay $20 to get your vehicle in the park even though you are camping there. $220 to reserve a spot for 3 days and then $20 when you arrive to enter the park to check into the campground. This is the first time I have ever had to do it and it is not communicated ever.
Rebecca Moore
Campground is great! Staff was nice. Manger however was very rude, accusing, and unprofessional. We had a small communication error between us and the the staff and instead of trying to understand the situation and take a customer service approach she was very accusing. It was rather shocking as we merely needed help figuring out how we could solve the situation. She did not seem to have the same goal in mind, but rather was blame driven. Sad.
Robert Wright
The Campground is beautiful and well maintained. The sites are a bit backwards for newer units, choose your spot carefully if possible. We were told that we got the last spot, which was ok, but not comfortable. Four more comfortable sites around us were never used in five nights, which makes you wonder who's in charge of reservations. Nonetheless, it's breathtakingly beautiful and having the park nearby, we had a blast
Chandler Carpenter
This campground is very clean, neat, and has a variety is options for its sites from primative sites to full hook up sites. This is definitely a place that we will be coming back too. We greatly enjoyed our stay here! Strongly reccomend!
Tina Fechhelm
We stayed at the Stone Mountain Campground and it was really nice! The sites were great and very well maintained. The staff was always polite and encouraged us to have fun and to explore, if we had time, areas of Atlanta and Athens. Overall beautiful area!
Tom “Big T” Ross
Campground is dated and needs work, but staff are attentive and do a good job to make your stay the best they can. Sites need to be leveled.
Wyndi Fasciana
We are in a 25-foot travel trailer. The RV sites are very well maintained. We have two small children and stayed near the pool and the playground. I feel like we got the best spot because it had a lake view and access. You can't swim but the view is so relaxing. Lots of Wildlife came to visit in the morning. There were red birds, hummingbirds, squirrels, Chipmunks, and tons of tree frogs and crickets were sounding off. A little Slice of Heaven! We will be back!
Alex DLT
First time staying here and we loved it. Clean spots. Great views. Quiet park. Great for the whole family. Can’t wait to plan our next trip.
bbhughey
We parked on M loop, away from the water. For a 40 foot site, we had to park at an angle to not hang into the narrow road. The lake side of the road is a better for parking. Otherwise you are parking right up against the cut in hillside.
The park is nice but feels like an amusement park.
Tons of visitors on weekends and the hiking trails were understandably packed.
John Wiesner
This was our first time staying at some mountain. It was great! Very clean and safe. The roads are beat up and not very level so bring blocks for your jacks. They also have free shuttles to take you to the theme park\laser show and back.
J. Carlton Presgraves
We stayed at Stone Mountain the weekend before Christmas it was so neat to see so many campers with Christmas lights and the big blowup yard figures. It was really cool for the kids to see. Also the yurts are so convenient they have a full size bunk bed and two futons, easily sleeps our family of 5, neat post furniture and heat and electricity. With three young boys it makes camping so easy or is that Glamping.
Lori Jones
Stayed in a yurt for the first time, but it won't be the last. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The yurt itself was really neat (even for a person like myself that does not engage in "nature" activities). Stone Mountain Park has tons to offer - great spot for families.
Neena Sisson
Amazing! Travelled pulling a small camper on the weekend before Thanksgivings. The grounds were full but they had a cancellation and got us in. We had 163A and it was perfect!! The check-in was simple and efficient, the staff was awesome and the site was great! Right next to the playground with a gas grill and picnic table and fire ring.
Fred Overmeyer
Very nice where we are although it is over priced for the off season. The cable and wifi is just so-so not worth the extra cost.
Ed Powell
Campsites are newly renovated. New grills and firepits. Only downside is Wi-Fi bandwidth and connectivity is very spotty at best. We were in a zone that advertised good Wi-Fi. If you have work to do you will need a hotspot.
Samantha Rabon
Our family loves this place! beautiful views, lakeside lots, attached to Stone Mountain Park. Clean, family friendly, swimming pool, playground, bike rides. The mountain in itself has so much you can do on it. We went over New Years and did the snow & Christmas packages-so worth it! Our kids had a blast and beg to go back! With the snow packages-it's timed in the tubes but you can play in the kiddie area all day long. The doe orations for Chriatnas are something to see! There are lights everywhere! At night there is a "snow princess" that flies over the pro and makes it snow.
Melody Lowe
Absolutely had a blast here. We camped for a week and there are so many things to see and do. We fished, we went to the park for two days, we went the pool and playground, and we relaxed. They have complimentary breakfast. Which are danishes, coffee, and hot cocoa. The danishes are really good Iw would give them 5 stars if I could. 😁
TheDawnTreader
Great campground. Clean restrooms. Beautiful location. They have tent camping, RV campground, as well as permanent tents, campers, and more. Great experience.
Orin Thompson
I find myself coming here more and more often with no real complaints. There's only so much I can say about a mountain. If you want to park in the official mountain parking lot, it's $10 per day or you can buy an annual pass for $35. It's a great deal if you plan to come here at least 4x I'm the course of a year! I have the press and its very convenient.
Every once in a while a do find it difficult to find a spot in there but for the most part its easy. A lot of people park around the corner by the bank on the weekends.
Walking up and down the mountain is about a mile each way I think. It's a rally good workout. I can usually go up the mountain in under 30 minutes and down it about 20. I typically burn about 6-800 calories during the process according to my Polar watch. The view is great when You get to the top. It's a Cool place to take friends from out of town. Check it out!
Jan Doyle
We came in without a reservation in pouring rain and it was getting dark. Even though the park was full they found a way to accommodate us and so generously helped us set up. This was very much appreciated since my husband has COPD. Next time we'll plan better and reserve a spot ahead of time. Thanks to Stone Mountain's outstanding staff.
Anne Schmidt
We absolutely loved the Stone Mountain Campground. We loved our site and truly enjoyed all the birds and wildlife. The comp ground is very well maintained and our view was spectacular. Can't wait to come back for another visit.
kristen waters
We love this campground but the reason I am only giving it 3 star's is because the pool should have longer hours. It is June and the pool was closed at 6:30/7 in the evening and was still not open at 10 the next morning. This has been the issue every time we come. The pool should be open until around 9pm in the summer.
Terri Elfers
The park while expensive is kept in immaculate condition. We stayed at the campground and extended our stay twice because we liked it so much. We were there in late October early November so the concessions in the park were not everything one would hope for as they closed before the attractions closed.
Kelly Jackson
Love this place! Yurts are awesome. Made very sound. All the amenities are great. The amusement park is amazing. The staff is perfect!!!! They care about quality of customer service. Go Astros!!! They all offered Braves attire as jokes and so sweet to us!!!! We will be back!!
Catherine Sturges
Great family campground in Stone Mountain Park! Bring your bikes, kayak and fishing poles!
Brandi White
Everything about this place is fun and relaxing and beautiful!!! Everyone loved the Lazer show! Prices aren't that high either. Unless, u have a big family like ours! 😂
Thank you!!!Keep up the EXCELLENT CUSTOMER service 👍😌
Ezhilarasi Swaminathan
Well maintained and serene place. If you are looking for a relaxing weekend getaway I recommend this place. One should definitely try the yurt stay on the campground if you are traveling as a group of 4+.
Salient features: Very friendly staff and clean restrooms; Safe parking; safe stay with regular night patrol by campground police.
Henri Petty
Clean and quiet. The views were great also.
Debbie Robinson
Awesome Peaceful experience. The park is Amazing!!
andrew wessells
Excellent campground. Very Rocky...but it is Stone Mountain 😀 very clean bathrooms and showers. The people and staff are some of the nicest and friendliest people I have ever met. I definitely recommend Stone Mountain. It had lots to do and see. …
cindy hoyle
I love camping with my friends there thank u so much it was beautiful place
Leo Pavao
Stayed over M-Day 2017. Sights are crowded and narrow, especially if you have a 35+' class-A pusher. Lots of slope on several sights, so almost impossible to get level, this is an issue with pushers. Registration staff did try and accommodate to another sight, but it was almost as bad. Class-A gas units may have been OK and lesser length units would have been OK. Campground and park are beautiful, no complaints with the facilities. Maintenance staff is excellent!! They will help you in every way possible. There are a few sights for 40' MH's near the office, those would have been the best or think twice bringing larger MH's to the park. Shuttle bus service is an A+ to the attractions. Nice place.
Rebekah Wadley
We had a great time camping here! Next time we are hoping to get a spot next to the lake! Would recommend hiking Stone Mountain while you’re there!
Wright Davis
Bumpy roads. Tight turns for rigs bigger than 30ft.
Rachel Green
Full RV hookups with level, easy back in lots, nice propane grill, table and fire ring included. Clean and nice bathroom facilities. Very reasonable prices. After hours check in. Nice community buildings with books you can borrow. Beautiful lake views.
Iraida Gonzalez
Stayed for 4 nights. Enjoyed our stay very much. Amazing place, many activities to enjoy. Will be back. Excelent facilities. But, please place an employee called Lillie anywhere but working with the public. No good mornings, no smile, nasty response. Asked for directions a couple of times. My mistake.
Don Davis
CLEAN,SCENIC,and everyone is very pleasant. Can't wait to see the laser light show on the mountain.
My wife and I were here with our children about 25 yrs ago. Now we are here with a grandson.
Josh Hughes
Loved Stone Mountain! Must do in the greater Atlanta area. Lots to do for the entire day! Kids loved the ropes course. Gondola is good. Catch a restaurant and a show to cool down. Evening fireworks and laser show is awesome!
Matthew Rice
Stayed July 7-9 with our 24' travel trailer, averaging ~$55/night ( one of our nights was considered holiday ). We had Red site #346 , which was a pull through.
[Good]
- Very quiet.
- Very close to Stone Mountain, and transportation is provided to get you there.
- Very friendly Staff ( Franklin is great! )
- Garbage is picked up for you.
- Activities. We stayed Saturday through Monday. When we were checking in there was an Ice Cream social, which the kids loved! Sunday morning, there was a breakfast social, which I love when campgrounds do that. It gives a great opportunity to meet other people in the park, and for kids to meet each other and play. Monday morning there was a smaller light breakfast with just a danish and coffee, but still, most other campgrounds we've gone to don't do this stuff any more.
- Total tree coverage on the site.
- Great over the air TV coverage. We knew this was going to be the case, and were hoping for a Peach site, as those offer everything but the cable hookup ( which we don't use anyway ), but there are a lot less of those and they were all taken.
- Pool is a decent size and is clean. We were there a couple of times each day, and only had one incident where the pool felt crowded.
[Bad]
- The site was very long, so much so that the table for the site was about 45' from the front of the site, and where you would need to park the RV, which made it unusable. Additionally, the water was very far from the electric, which made it so that you had cables crossing each other running the majority of the one side of the trailer.
- You have to pay to get into the Stone Mountain entrance if you don't already have a season pass. There should be a system where that is refunded once you get to the campground, because the campground gives you a pass to use for subsequent days so you don't have to pay again if you leave and come back later in your stay.
[Other]
- There is a good balance of pull through and back in sites for those who are worried about backing in. It was weird because this was probably the first time we were assigned a pull through. Normally those are taken first, and you have back-in's, which is fine. I think it might have to do with the fact that a lot of the back-in's, at least on Red have the direct view of Stone Mountain so they get taken first?
- Sewer hookup is threaded.
- Garbage only, no recycle.
- Our site was pretty level, but while walking we saw many others that seemed very unlevel based on the amount of leveling blocks the owners put on one side. The employees at the front desk were very knowledgeable about the sites though, so you could probably ask about this when booking, if you book over the phone.
Micheal Owens
Trail K has small camp sites that were Rocky and not planned out very well for tents. When using the water, the runoff went straight into the next campsites area. Some sites were better than others it appears. They seem better suited for popups. It's fairly quiet and enjoyable besides that. The stay and play package was a good choice. They don't provide garbage cans, you place your garbage next to the road at the end of your campsite and they come by and pick it up. The showers were hit and miss, 2 showers had faucets that worked well the others I could not get the hot water to work. The bugs are pretty bad, the ants are in everything, although we never we're bitten by any of them.
Keith
First time at Stone Mountain Campground. Tight roads and little difficult positioning 5th wheel. But it has been a wonderful weekend trip. Quite neighbors and peaceful trip. Highly Recommend this Campground
Brian Wilson
I highly recommend this campground if you have any young children. The Fall festivities they have going on in the campground and all around the park are sure to keep everyone happy. All our neighbors were great and the nights were quiet when we stayed.
Jamey Thomas
This campground is really nice. They have everything from full hookups, partial hookups, tent camping with water and electric or rustic camping.
When looking into it, look at the map to decide what kind of site you need and where you want to be. Some sites are larger than others but almost all of them are shaded or at least partially shaded.
There is a pool, playground, volly ball court and pavilion for campers use. They also have a small general store with limited items if you need it. But just outside the park, about 6 min drive, there is a Walmart if you need something.
If you are a camper, you can get special tickets for rentals and such. They also have a discount for you to ride the duck tours. The ones offered to campers get a longer private tour and they pick up and drop off at the campground which was awesome.
Upon leaving, check out is really simple, just run in and return the parking card and that's it! There are also three dump stations if needed.
My husband and I both camped there as children and now we go camping there with our children!
Janet Scott
Site 262 is very unlevel, but it is long enough for our 40' fifth wheel and truck.
Joe Terpstra
The kids and I had a great stay at the camp site. Bathrooms / showers well kept and close by, grounds remained cleaned, large pool, friendly staff. You can take a shuttle to the park for the laser show, train ride, and other fun activities. Only down side are the moderatly high ticket prices.
Justin Blan
Great scene and fun place for local outdoor activities
With the family..
Denise Stanley
No air in bathrooms and place not kept up well...also the picnic table was not usable...but they were in the process of remodeling and hadnt made it to the side we were at. But up toward where the yurts were was extremely nice and new so for now I give a low review but hope to come back again and it would all be nicer.
Jason McNeill
I believe the park is under new ownership. The more expensive lots are level and nice (looks like they are refurbishing them). The ones not lakeside are not level and I would stay away from them with a trailer of any decent size to it. (They do have a wagon near the entrance with boards for your tires). There is a ton of shade. Pricey, but a nice place close to the city with a lot of activities. We tend to go back often for the convenience and full hook ups.
Janet Stephens
We love Stone Mountain Campground. It’s a beautiful place with lots of trees and right on the lake. They’re making a lot of improvements at the moment. The campground is right down the road from the Stone Mountain Golf Club. I’m sure we’ll be staying here again.
Dan M
Very cool place with lots of stuff around. Plenty of trails to walk, lake to fish, pool, etc. Only issue are the camp sites that aren’t even close to being level. A few are good, but most have 7” or more inches difference from front to back. But the cool thing is how people get creative to overcome the delta. Bricks, pavers, rocks, wood, pixi dust, ANYTHING! All held up by prayers! Anyhow, I would certainly come again, just might bring a concrete truck with me next time to prep whatever mountain site we are assigned.
David & Rachel George
Instead of staying in a hotel on business in the area I decided to haul the camper up and stay at stone mountain. It was a very nice stay. The sites are well wooded and have lots of space. It is a beautiful setting. The only disappointment was the internet. I picked my site because it is advertised to have WIFI. It was there but unusable, which was disappointing since I was there for business.
VacaVerd AMI
Yurt review: The yurts are well worth the money. They are quaint and semi secluded with a great lake view. Great way to go glamping! Staff is very friendly and grounds are nice.
John Garland
Some nice spots on the lake if you book ahead
Ashley Huffman
I love love love staying here every time I'm in the area. The picture I've included is right behind our RV site. My only complaint is the roads in the campground are very very narrow, and there isn't a whole lot of room (even on the "big" sites) to park both the RV and your vehicle comfortably.
Sheri Austin
There's a $20 fee to get in the gate they couldn't get us a proper camping space without a lot of concrete underneath of it we finally just said enough was enough and packed up and left. Mthey will gladly refund your money if you find that you can't find what you're looking for there not only at the campground but also at the Maingate just make sure you keep all of your parking tickets that you have when you entered.
Renee Moody
My family have been coming to the camping grounds for the past 30 years. We started out with Pence and sleeping bags LOL moved up to bigger and better tent and air beds. For the past 2 years we have been staying in the cabins across from the Keurigs. The View looking across the water is spectacular. The accommodations or commendable such as clean showers and restrooms that are tended to daily ,trash cans being emptied. It is a beautiful experience whether you're in a tent a Urich a tent house or a cabin. Dip your toe and get the cabin camping fever. We loved it

Everything was great even though the weather wasn't!

Camped here about 5 years ago, in a tent. Tents were about 6-8 feet apart and definitely not level. We all slid down, to the bottom wall, of the tent, while we slept. We could hear our neighbors talking, during the night. The restrooms were decent and warm the next morning.

Nice park alot to do . Hike down the top of the mountain was great. Lazer show is the highlight. RV campground is close and convenient. Only down side not enough help at ticket windows, took an hour to get in park with only seven people in line.
Daniel Walker
Great place to camp . Stayed there 2 weeks from 31 March to 14 April 2021 . The drive from Maryland was 14 hours . Took a little longer then i thought it would .
Eric Da Garzster
Not bad priced. Figure one night in a 3 star hotel is the cost of a yellow water and electric serviced campground. Very pleasant, relaxing and I have to add. Minimal bug population and no pesty insects. In Chicago you'd be eaten alive. Here? Few mosquito and biting flies but very manageable.

Even though we got a Yurt next to a typical Karen calling the police on us for being loud at 10pm, when curfew is set for 11pm at the park. We still managed to have a good time and not let the crabby paddy next door slow us down.

This is a very pretty campground and the closest to Atlanta I could find. But two things will most likely keep me from camping here again. First, on top of the not inexpensive campground rates, you have to pay a $20 parking fee upon entering the park. Second, the roads and pads are in bad shape. Tree roots have grown under the road, making it into an obstacle course not suitable for our motorhome. The same has happened with the pads, so they are not level, have lots of holes and ripples.

Huge beautiful grounds! Bea6even at night. Pardon, I am looking to upload video of our night hike Oct 31st. Stay tuned 😉 …

4 stars for the view and the nice staff. The hill going into loop O is very poorly designed. Had to back up to avoid tipping over. Some sites need a lot of leveling. Bath houses are average. Wear bath shoes. Stayed in site 393. Very nice site.
Wes Byrd
Great, family friendly RV and camp ground!

This was the second year that we have stayed at Stone Mountain campground and we really love the place. We had a lakeside site and lots of shade. Our time flew by and both of us can’t wait to get back there next year. The roads need some work but that’s about all we can suggest.
michael nason
Best RV park we've stayed at. Great facilities, beautiful views, large sites
Kyler Mcmilleon
Clean campground, spacious sites, great bathrooms with hot showers. Nice open sky’s for star gazing. Great trails in the park.
Eileen Hall
Our overall stay was very nice. The staff in the check in office were very rude and unaccommodating. We most likely will never return because of this. How Sad. Terrible WiFi. Great Laser Light Show. We are still glad that we made the trip.

We spent 1 nite at this campground in a tent. We have a big tent for "10people" only for the two us, ha! They don't take reservations over the phone if it is for one nite only. When we arrived we select at the front front office were we wanted to pass the nite but when we got to the spot it was so tiny and down a hill!! Impossible to set up our huge tent so we went back to the front office and the employees were so kind and gave us another spot we have checked on our way back. It wasn't too big but at least our tent could fit just ok. We stayed the nite at "lakeside" campground so the view was Lovely and the sunset was just spectacular! It had water and electricity connections. We got to watched the laser show at 9:30pm, wasn't a really big deal but for kids can be cool. Also we had access to swimming pool but didn't use at all. Since 9am they stop but your campsite to pick up your trash, now that I think is awesome because keeps the place clean and is less work for you. The showers/bathrooms were very clean!! There is also washer and dryer service.
The reason why I do give them 3 stars is because HONESTLY is TOO EXPENSIVE to pay "$41.00" FOR ONE NITE in a "TENT". I thou they would probably give us some discount because it was during the WEEK but NAH.. We have the year pass so we don't/didn't have to pay the entrance. But if you don't have that then it would be more $. The place is very quite, peaceful, clean and with lots of trees. I saw several people in their kayak and others fishing.
And I inisist they really should go down on their price.

Beautiful campground. We chose to camp somewhere else because we didn't think we would like camping in a yurt for 2 days (park minimum). When we toured the campgrounds and saw the Beautiful Yurts, we instantly regretted out decision!! I will return to experience the Yurts!
Lisa Small
Beautiful park a must see. Everyone was very nice. Well maintained. Enjoyed our. Visit. Stayed three days with our RV. We will definitely try to visit again.
Varok Saurfang
The Yurts are a must. Great getaway location. Beautiful scenery and helpful and understanding staff.
Kristen H
Nice campground, but very loud neighbors blasting music past 11. Not really the campgrounds fault, but still super annoying. That aside, it's beautiful here with a lot to do inside the park for free.
annabelle757
It's beautiful and always a good time. Be warned that it's very difficult to sleep in the yurts at night due to the ominous bright red light from the EXIT sign on the wall. It makes the place look like a horror movie. Bring a nightlight if you're staying in a yurt.
Tracie documenting life
Great campground. Easy to get to and easy to back into sites. Fire rings and grill. The bath houses are clean. The pool is nice. The view of the lake is nice. The people are helpful and friendly.
Brian Burke
The campgrounds are sweet... A good number of pull through spots and an abundance of bath houses. Everything is superclean! Hot showers!!!!
The staff is super friendly and informative... reserve your spot soon they go fast!
Alex Baker
Camp sites are epic. Try and find one on the water.
James Gleaton
I'm a regular camper here in my pop up,I finally found the spots for fishing for hybrids, crappie and cats,it's a great place for kayaking because fast boats are prohibited, I told campground office if they ever start selling camping spots I'm in😆 …
Mary Ann Raymond
Beautiful lake views, campsites are merely adequate. Few amenities
Eric Blair (Who are you?)
Great economical camping with all the amenities PLUS the mountain: they want to tear down; so see it now IF you really want to! IF not, lake, fishing, good water and think drainage ( fine day and night of constant rain will need extra considerations!) -
Don't be too suprised IF a camper/ trailer is 30 ft away but 20 ft higher than you are? Stone or hard pack sites- at main gate a pull through parking lot next to a potable water source and a double dumping station. You'll need a map at check in to follow the directions, Google's not enough ( for newbies or long\big rigs , clearance & turn around)
The carvings are magnificent!
The ranger station was knowledgeable of the battle fields and method of battles ( with pamphlets too!)
Lots of info you may have never found there.
FYI : Eat well before the tour & hydrate. Unless your much younger & richer than eye am ? 😅

Probably the state park with the prettiest camp ground I have ever been to. If you can get a camp site along the lake, also the yurts are very very nice on the inside, the deck of which is a great place to hangout if you come with a small group of friends or family.
Aaron Reed
This is a big campground with a large variety of sites. Driving and walking around I saw sites that were perfect, to how the he|| would I get mine in there. Sites that needed nothing to level the camper, to going to need a lot of blocks under that wheel or leg (there is wood boards in a wagon at entrance if you need more). I can see unexsperanced camper having a hard time, seasoned camper will be "Challenge excepted". I would suggest a drive by of your site. If there are other sites open go ask for a change of site. The one bathroom I look at looked well kept and clean. The pool is small for a large campground and can see that being an issue when the place is full. We stayed Saturday - Tuesday in June it was not full. When coming into stone mountain park use the furthest left gate to pay the entrance fee, the road to the campground is the first left. The WiFi is good around the place, it's the the 300-600 user of the limited bandwidth that makes it vary slow. You can still use google maps or other small data things. My response to complaints about this place is "YOUR CAMPING" deal with the challenges and enjoy yourself.
There is a shuttle from camp to the attraction. If your planing to go to the attraction in the park run your car up there get a good close spot to main attraction, loaded with your food, chairs and what ever you need. I saw lots of cooler and outside food. We spent one day in the park. Duck ride was ok but kids liked it. Sky lift to the top was fun and view was perfect. Train around the mountain ok. Laser show was nice. More information in reviews about attractions.
Vary easy to to get to the city back on the highway north and south.

This is one of the most beautiful RV parks we've visited. The views of the mountain & lake are spectacular. The sites are wooded and spacious.
Rob Perkins
Stayed a week and loved it! Super friendly staff and very well kept campground.
Gina K
Great views, reasonable rates, large, clean comfort station.
Bobby Bishop
Decent campground but not a place to get away from the hustle and bustle. A bit pricey as well. Unless you are specifically attending an event at Stone Mountain or just want to tour the park, I would suggest going to a state park outside of town instead.
Mark Strudwick
Great RV park, clean, well signed, not the cheapest place to stay but definitely convenient, and we'll be back again. Remember that it's $20/ day in addition to the campsite fees to enter the park with a vehicle
Joyce
Gorgeous place to spend time with family and friends. Very clean restrooms, and campground. Also enjoy fishing, strolling through campground, or take kiddos to playground. Also Enjoy riding your bicycle
Bryan Danilovich
Crowded compared to state parks, but very convenient. The comfort stations are exceptionally clean as were the yurts.
Solomon Shaffer
Great campground. A little rustic and the paving is not in the best condition in the older sections. But amazing hiking in the area. We love coming here.
Akeem Lanier
Clean Sites. Great Safe Area With Clean Restrooms. Campground Staff is wonderful THE LANIERS Will Definitely Be A Name On The Booking List Often.
Thanks Ms Teresa For Everything See You Guys Soon.
Vladimir Houzar
Amazing place to spend whole day with the family
Sue Light
Gotta love the lake and the mountain! Staff is friendly, bathrooms and showers are clean, love the way that their garbage pickup trucks come by regularly so it's not sitting in a trash barrel attracting bugs and critters!
Kevin Sentell
They have a lot of campsites for RV's & Tenters...Pool is super clean & easy to walk to, I especially like how clean the bathrooms are -- ALL the time with plenty of Hot water !!! Wish I would have brought Golf clubs, didn't know they had 3 courses right next door... We took the shuttle to other side of the mountain & Watched the New Laser Show after a stroll thru their Village. Even did their ropes course. Wanted to do Geyser Tower water attraction, but didn't have time. Needed more time to do it ALL....
Ronald Lingerfelt
Very helpful and friendly staff. I would have rated a 5 but the site we were on needs quite a bit of work. The scenery
was beautiful though. We will return!
larry enderle
Lots could have been more level and easier to access but overall I like the wooded feel and for a state-run campground it's excellent
Renee Crigger-McDonald
Awesome place to spend some time off
Grim Reaper
It nice and all but more of a money park. Being this was my first time I was hoping it was more of a nature park but nope. All about tourism and money unfortunately. Still neat to have been and can say I've climbed the hill(not a mountain).
Gary Smith
Park overalls pretty nice the road inside the red area campground is a little rough but passable and Wi-Fi is horrible they really need to upgrade I've been trying to get down since 6:00 this morning and now 10:00 and I still can't get on the Wi-Fi
ken swarts
Great staff, was wet and cold while we were there, but the view was amazing and the site was adequate. Would have liked paved sites but I'm spoiled. Will go back this summer
John Bowen
The campground host went out of his way *on Christmas morning* to fill our LP tank, and while doing that was approached by someone else who needed ice. No hesitation at all, can-do attitude, and very kind.
Maghan Parker
Love camping here. Everyone is very friendly and the campground is very clean.
Lilianna Hanley
We love Stone Mountain❣ We get a season parking pass every year and we go as much as we can. It is so peaceful there. Great place just to get away from life for a bit.
Loretta Cannon
Ok , just booking the place... I say yeeessss! I'm a travel nurse and a friend and I were literally deciding weather we should drive or fly to Atlanta for work.
After my very informative and pleasant conversation with the reservation agent "BINKY" . I knew this was the place for us.
The voice on the other end of phone was so friendly and accommodating, She was helpful , friendly and just all around sweet.
Much appreciated! Thank you Stone Mountain! See you soon!
Brian Ivey
The upgrades they've made on the RV side look great. I'll find out soon enough when we set up for a couple days
Valeria Romanova
Wonderful and peaceful place to stay and explore the Stone Mountain park. Best spots - by the river, with the Stone Mountain view! Pay attention you have to pay 20$ fee to enter the park + pay for camping, because the camping is inside the park.
Robert Beaty
We like the overall Campground. The full hook-ups were nice. We stayed in site #336, it was vaguely marked and the fire ring and pinic table we're unclear as to which site it belonged.
Katherine Goodman
The grounds need work, we paid premium price. Had half a fire pit, the grill was propped up with a stick no room to move around. Plus i had to pay to park even though everything in the park was closed. All I needed was a place to park for the night,we camped the night and left
John Jones
Great campground. A lot of sites on the water. Good place to kayak. A lot of things to do at Stone mountain. Loved our stay. Will definitely be back.
Rick Barber
This is a large campground with well maintained facilities, an extremely friendly and helpful staff, and a large variety of campsites. Most are level with all the amenities you need for a quiet getaway close to Atlanta.
Ray Woodmancy
Beautiful place
I will be back
Patrice Parks-Stafford
Loved it, we will return for sure. Perfect family vacation by the water and great veiw
Aydee Herrera
Very Clean and friendly for camping.
Where In The World Is Juliet?
This is an amazing campground. Beautiful and so many things to do! It was perfect. Atlanta, but not the city. Really lovely. Tight for larger rigs. Fyi
Chris Antis
Very nice, we are enjoying our camping trip. We have the most beautiful view of the mountain and the lake. Plenty of things to do
