Great campsite. C4 was a large site and close to everything the campground has to offer. It is close to the Parkway so you do hear road noise but not too bad. Bathrooms are very clean and the park staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. Can’t wait for my next stay. You can hike Mt Pisgah and Frying Pan Tower right from the campground.

The camp grounds are perfect! Right on blue ridge highway, not far from Ashville. They have a dedicated loop for RVs/campers and a dedicated loop for tent-only.
They have multiple bathroom houses on site, one of which has a shower with hot water. From my experience, bathrooms are cleaned every morning.
It costs 20/night to stay, and 10/night if you're a senior. I highly recommend this spot! Been here 7x now.

This is our third visit to this campground, only 17 miles from home but a 3,000 ft elev gain. 90 degrees in Asheville to 73 degrees by our arrival an hr later ! Most of the campsites are wooded with old gnarly lichen bark oaks, Rhododendrons, ferns , native hydrangeas, and (I counted) 3 kinds of berries. Bears are always a possibility so dogs must be leashed and food must be stowed in a hard sided container or vehicle. If you need a restaurant meal, the Pisgah Inn is just across the street . There’s also camp store with ice, snacks, drinks and the most expensive bundle of firewood we ve seen nationwide so far : $12.82 for a regular size bundle ! So try to remember to pick some kiln dried firewood up at the grocery store before you leave home .
There’s a trail network that you can pick up from the campground that will keep you busy for a couple days. Many more trails are along the parkway.

My wife and I truly love this campground. I visited/camped here with my family as a child and still love visiting 40+ years later. We now visit annually if possible. Each loop is unique and we've enjoyed tent camping and now RVing here over the years. Great access to several areas/towns around Asheville, but secluded enough to feel nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the growing area. Lots to see and do along the BRP and within the nearby Pisgah Forest. There are also a plethora of nearby trails; we recommend a loop trail starting near loop C, over to the parking area, the picnic area, and then to the trailhead of Mt. Pisgah; then back along Buck Springs trail to the Pisgah Inn, which is across the road from the campground - about 3 miles round trip. Cell service is spotty, but we've had decent luck with Verizon in the A loop. Starlink also works here as of this posting.

Great location and facilities for an amazing price. Most campsites I saw had pretty good privacy and space too
Matt
Awesome campsites and service. We had a perfect spot for after our trail riding. Great amenities, quiet and well kept campground.
Anthony Franco
Very clean and well kept campground. Bathrooms were well maintained, 1 shower only in the bathroom for tent campers.
Sites are close to each other so not much privacy between sites. But overall great experience.
Anthony Downes
Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Nicely located with lots of trails around. The campsite itself is nice but it can get kind of crowded, some sites don't have much for privacy. Each site had a picnic table, fire ring with cast iron grill and bear proof storage for food. I definitely recommend going during the week. Easily accessible bathrooms with showers and water stations. If you're tent camping I recommend D7 and D8; they are on higher ground and have some privacy. $20 a night flat fee. They have a resteraunt and small store nearby but it's pricey, so come prepared with what you need.

We camped here over labor day weekend and loved it. The restrooms and showers at the various campsites are nice and you have the country store no more than a half mile down the road. The parking spots are very spacious offering enough space for a large SUV.

We enjoyed a secluded campsite and a very welcome cool, almost cold, July night. The bathrooms are well located and have nice little, well maintained paths that lead to them. There are two newer shower houses that the Blue Ridge Foundation has provided. BUT the night we visited, they were disgustingly FILTHY. The shower curtains were black half way up, hair was all over the floor, the walls were moldy, dirt was in loose in all three corners. The way these bath houses are being maintained is a disgrace to this wonderful park and to the foundation that so kindly provided them. Be sure to bring shower flip flops!
Don Hickman
Second trip to this campground. Love being able to camp on the Blue Ridge Pkwy. The sites are nice. Wish there were more showers in the campground. Just need to time things right. Staff is very friendly.

What a place for camping! It was our 2nd time there and we'll definitely come back.
Lots of water pump around and we didn't have to go far for it. The campsite we were in were a little exposed and we didn't have enough privacy but it's also important to know that when you book it online. It gets full really fast. When we booked it 2 months ago, everything was booked and it was the only place left. Also, it's a popular place during fall and could get crowded. So I suggest do it months before if you're doing it for the fall season.
But remember that the temperatures could drop really quickly and it could get windy, rainy and really cold. So bring lots of warm clothes, blankets, umbrella and rain jacket. And don't forget to check the weather!!

We stayed here for one night and it was lovely! We camped in loop c near the bathhouse and enjoyed it. The bathrooms were nice and clean and the showers were hot!!! Bears are around but we didn’t have any issues. They sites are laid out nicely and there is good foliage between them. Would love to camp here again!
Richard Squailia
Great reception and campground host. Impressed by clean toilet and hot showers. Store and restaurant across the road are easy walking distance and the view from deck is absolutely breathtaking.
Chris Simon
Perfect midpoint between roughing it and cheesy campground. High altitude so its much cooler temp wise. 5 minute walk to a stunning vista of the entire mountain range. Bathrooms, the Mt Pisgah and and general store. My first idea was a dispersed site on Yellow Gap Road but they were all taken, this was much better.
Ron Prentice
Nice older campground in a wooded setting right on the parkway. I would not recommend this place for large rigs. The roads are narrow and most of the sites are pretty small. The bathhouse in loop B has one shower and it was clean. Over half of the sites are FCFS and the rest can be reserved. No hookups, but there is a dump station. There have been bear sightings in the area. We're in a 28' class C and would return again.
Kayti Rinauro
No water or electric sites. Bath houses are well lit. Great beautiful streams in the area. Campfire stories with Rangers are a must. Great hiking trails. Local attractions of Graveyard Trails and Sliding Rock are nearby. Good restaurant across the street at the Pisgah Inn. Camp Store across the street is open from 8-8 daily.

We have been camping here for 30 years. So disappointed with this last trip. The park use to be so well maintained but the maintenance has been neglected. The sites are overgrown and you can barely drive your RV down the road to your campsite due to low hanging limbs. Some of the rules are enforced and some aren't. The bathrooms were disgusting. Very dirty . The garbage can was overflowing and it is an industrial size garbage can. The towel rack in the shower fell off the wall with a towel on it. The floor was so disgusting that you would slip on it if you weren't careful. The exhaust fan was broken so you had to leave the door to the bathroom open. At the dump station you couldn't fill up your RV water tank because the water outlet was on an incline and the other one was broken. We use to love this park . It was always so nice to go to. The rangers that ran it were awesome. They took great pride in this park. I don't think the rangers have much to do with it now. Never did see a ranger and we were there for 4nights. Just a few volunteers are running the park. It is a shame because it is in a beautiful area. The scenery is still awesome. You have to take the good with the bad.
Gary
Great campground everyone was super nice. Park staff really helpful. The campground has a RV s section a pop up / van section and a tent only section. The park is right off the Blue Ridge Parkway with beautiful views!
David Riggleman
Great campground with sites that very spacious and secluded from other campsites. It's a short drive to the Frying Pan Fire Tower overlook trail, which is well worth checking out and taking the brief hike to the top. We came on a Thursday evening without reservations and did not have any issues getting a site. Prices are reasonable and in line with other campgrounds. If you need firewood, you can purchase some at the nearby country store, but it is on the expensive side, although it is a good dry, hard wood that burns for a while.
michael perkins
Tucked into forest of relatively short trees. Nice bathrooms and solid showers (just 1 per building so there can be a wait). Most sites are very visible to the road and rather densely located so don't expect privacy or quiet. Good Parkway location for some overlooks and hike to a firetower. The accompanying motel sits on a ridge w/ astounding views. Free wifi at entrance and motel are meager but helpful in a pinch to reach the outside world.
Dave
Sites are small... if you are 30 feet or more this might not be your best choice! Beautiful park. Long range mountain views. Great park if you can boondock!
Anthony Glad
Nice camp ground and facilities. They are busy and often fill up so make sure to reserve a campsite or to come early!
Jordan Lassiter
Best campsite above 4000 ft elevation for summer camping. I hate camping in the heat of the summer with the bugs, but this one is cool, shaded, and mostly bug free.
Brianne Michalski
Nice facilities. Sites are well laid out but too close together for my preference. Lovely tree cover.
cheryl roeder
We camped in the tent only area and were very impressed with the bathroom remodel from the last time we were there. Many of the sites have little privacy and smaller tent pads than other parks but ours was cozy though a bit sunny. It is a wonderful location to get to some really beautiful hikes on the Blue Ridge and we even had cell service so that was cool. Sad that the Blue Ridge hasn't had evening ranger programs in a long time(even before covid) because it is such a lovely location and it is a fun way to learn history and science.
John Heydenrych
The wonderful aspect of this campground is its elevation of almost 5000 ft. This means that the daytime temperature is really pleasant in midsummer. Besides that, the campground is well laid out and the bath houses clean. We had a very enjoyable stay.
Melissa Snider
Quiet, secluded campsites. Hot showers and a well-stocked camp store make it luxurious for a park campground. Plenty of trails. A new favorite summer retreat for us!
stephanie weaver
A gem of a campground with lots of sites, some first come/first serve and some reserverable. Perfect! Peaceful!
I will definitely come again.
Karen File
I'd really give this place 3.5 stars, but went with 4, because for the average person this would be a great place to camp and the location can't be beat. For a seasoned tent camper, the sites are small, some are very close and offer no privacy. But there are a few that are nice. Other pros would be an entire generator-free, tent only loop. It's a great base point for hikes at Black Balsam and Pink Beds and Looking Glass Rock area. Bathrooms were fine and even had hot water.
Gaurav Kalani
Loved the camps, super clean bathrooms, accessible water and super clean campsite. Kids had a blast using pretend games and the hikes to the frying pan!!
Daniel Stigall
We were not sure about going to a camp site that had no hookups, no water, no sewer and no power but it was a great experience. Mount Pisgah is on the Blue Ridge Parkway at a elevation of around 5000 feet. We were here in October and the fall foliage was outstanding. To drive on the Parkway in a 30 foot motor home was great.
The were rigs over 30 feet in the park but it looked a little close to me. There was 3 bathrooms in each loop and a hot shower in one of them. The sites were just $20 a night and only $10 if you have a national park pass. We will be back here again.
Nicole Herrick
This was a really nice and organized campground but the bathroom was difficult to find. It was behind some of the campsites. Our campsite was on the outside of the loop so we had to walk through other people's campsites, or walk a long time to find the one public trail to the bathroom. Other than that our site was really private! However, wood was $10 a bundle at the camp store which is crazy.
Carole Jefferies
The campgrounds are well maintained. The host is involved in making sure everyone's camping experience is good. All of the campers were so nice and polite. No extra noise it's just was a great place
Orion Maier
Very well kept campgrounds with an easy check in. Bath house is kept clean and has hot water.
Jenipher Siegrist
Great camp site. We had a wonderful relaxing time.
S Bee
Just spent 4 nights at the grounds. Really lovely and well managed. Some of the sites are close to the parkway so the cars are very audible. The trails are lovely and the view is fantastic. The workers are very friendly and helpful. Some of the sites are very private and some are more open. We camped with our two year old and it was fantastic, highly recommend!
thifty bill
Roads and sites are tight as far as rig size. Sites themselves are spacious and private. Pretty much like almost all National Parks. Big rigs could be challenged.
Great location, right on the parkway and close to highway 276 so you can get supplies. Price is reasonable to cheap given the outstanding location. Lots of nearby hikes.
Great lodge across the road, with good food and fantastic views. Hotel too, so friends can stay there if they are not campers.
Elodie Boursat
We stayed 3 nights, it was perfect! If you live camping and be in contact with nature this is the place to be! A lot of trails around, waterfalls and Asheville to to far.. a cross the road you do have a little shop, restaurant, take out, and souvenirs shopping.
We never saw a bears.. (I wish but we didn’t 😉)
Hot shower, it was clean, drinking water everywhere
Ed Riddle
We try to visit this location every summer to get our mountain " fix"! Some sites are tight but they do have picnic tables and fire rings. No electric or water hook ups but they do have faucets to fill tanks before going to your site or filling water jugs! And it is right on the Blue Ridge Parkway!
Katherine Watkins Greeson
Well kept campground with showers! We had to report some campers who were excessively noisy during quiet hours to the camp host and he really couldn’t have been nicer, even coming by to check on us the next morning to make sure they actually quieted down. Having multiple options for hikes from the campground was great. Plenty of nice trees for putting up enos!
Amber Sanborn
Very crowded spots, most don't even have trees to divide you from the neighbors. A couple great hikes. Dirty bathrooms and showers, but water pressure is decent and does get pretty warm.
Holger Gleim
Great location and nice high elevation. But all sites much too close together. Firewood is a problem. They ask you not to bring your own firewood and then charge $10 for a very tiny bundle. Be forewarned.
Ed Yopp
I camped here about 15 years ago and though it was great. Just got back from a family camping trip there and its as good as ever. Clean, quiet and well maintained. The camp store across the parkway makes things easy and the restaurant is excellent if you want to avoid hot dogs for a night. Oh, and the bear boxes -- they're for real - we had a young bear come through our campsite 2 times the last night we were there. Never aggressive but not intimidated by people either. Great experience and I'll come again.
Doug Carver
We spent 3 nights, it was our first excursion. The sites were well situated and water, garbage cans and rest rooms were close. All the workers and volunteers were extremely nice but a Mr Wise was possibly one of the nicest persons I have ever met. He helped us find a good spot and was just darn pleasant. Overall
Just a wonderful experience
Randy Overton
This campground was very nice and well maintained. I tent camped and the sites were very nice and provided privacy you don't usually see. The only problem I had was with the bath house. There was only one shower which was fine for me but my wife hated it. Mainly because you had parents with multiple kids coming in so the wait was crazy and without the privacy of locking a door to a shower you have uncontrolled kids. Not blaming the kids or the campground but the parents that well don't know how to control them.
joe rossetti
Some maintenance issues, lots of trails, unplugged, good mix of private and more open sites and a bear who likes to make the rounds.
Carter W Hern
Wonderful! Nice staff. Clean. No wifi (except at the checkin hut) or cell signal. Pay phone at hut. High altitude. Am going back.
Sarah Chittenden
Perfectly adequate as a campground. The sites are relatively private/separated which provides enough privacy. The bathrooms are adequate for being outdoors but there is only one shower for two full circles of campsites. It would be nice to have a few more, or at least one per circle.
Luke
Awesome views from the parkway... great overlook and hiking/picnic areas near by... gets a little chilly at night and in the morning... but makes for very comfortable sleeping weather and great for building fires. The campground was very pretty and the landscaping was impeccable... nice and quiet campsites that where private. The bathrooms were nice and clean, and the staff was friendly... very safe and family oriented campground. The Pisgah County Store was very nice, as well... it has everything to meet you basic needs, and at reasonable prices. Tent sites have pads, and won't flood or get too muddy if it rains. Highly recommend!!!
Chris A.K.T.
This was our first time camping together with the dogs and it was such a great place! The camping spots were secluded enough. There seemed to be some fun family activities and the staff were nice! I was confused about the fire ring and grill... we were supposed to have both, but we only had one thing.
Beth Kellerman
The campsite was private, clean and well situated. We brought a 5 gallon water dispenser which reduced our trips to the pump that provided delicious drinking water. The bathrooms appear to have been recently updated, and there was plenty of hot water. I made our reservations on line, and our site had our reservation posted, so no one else would inadvertently take our spot. A few words of warning. I had absolutely no cell signal, so print your reservation before you come. It makes it so much easier to know your site number. Also, if you arrive after 8pm, when the camp store is closed. The Inn sells firewood. You cannot bring your own. If you are tenting, the place to set up your tent is on gravel. They are nice and level, but without a little extra padding? Ouch! Plan to keep your food in the car or the large metal bins on each site to avoid attracting bears or worse yet, skunks. We didn't see any. Have fun. This campground rocks!
Nichole Heydenburg
The campground is great, beautiful views, and easy access to everything you could need while camping. The only downside is that they don't make it easy to park multiple cars at your campsite, even if you book a site for 4 people and specify there will be 2 cars there.
Cy Dickey
This campground cannot be beat if hiking is your thing. It is on top of the mountain so you get an insane view every morning when you leave the campgrounds and the weather is always 8-10 degrees cooler than in the valley, this makes for incredibly comfortable weather. There are hiking trails that start in the campgrounds and you get a beautiful view of Pisgah mountain from the A loop. There are many amazing hikes close by too like Graveyard Fields and Balsam Knob. It is also only $20 a night and you can stay up to 30 days. So with as many first come first sites as they have you can easily extend you stay and explore the area!
Patrick Lindemann
Awesome campground if your trailer is not too long or too high tunnels are just above 13feet and had some difficulty to drive around with our trailer. It is tight....but very nice. No water, electricity, sewer on the lots. Generator not between 9pm and 8am
Heath Carnicom
We love this campground. It's clean, out of the way, and there are a dozen hikes and three or so waterfalls within 30 minutes of the campsite. The short hike to the lookout tower is totally worth it. Its a 360* view of miles and miles of the mountain range. Go just for that if you're only on a day-trip, and have a beer at the restaurant just down the way there.
Ryan VanMiddlesworth
Fantastic little campground with good tent and RV sites. All sites are without electric or water, but come on, that's how camping on the Blue Ridge Parkway should be. There's not a whole lot of other amenities on site, but there is a campground store nearby in case you run out of your illegally imported firewood and there's even a little park-run inn just across the road that you can retreat to once you realize you can't watch Netflix on a 2G connection.
The campground host was super friendly and the other campers were quieter than us (which is the way I like it). Would camp again.

Oct 2011 Trip:
_____________
Wonderful Campground, quiet, and great placement on the Blue Ridge Parkway and the highest point where any campground is located at 4000+ feet. Spent a week here on vacation in October and absolutely loved it. Campground is clean and has a shower and heated bathroom. Each camping plot has a flat area for tents to be set up on and typically a fire pit or barbeque pit for fires and cooking. Couldn't have asked for a nicer place to camp. Very affordable at 16$ a night. They also have an area for pop-ups and vans as well as a RV area. Small Store located nearby for basic needs, restaurant, and inn for those not as inclined to rough it . Very friendly staff. Highly recommend this Campground.
May 2012 Trip:
________________
Once again my family and I visited this area during the May season of 2012. Although plagued by rain our first few nights, we had a wonderful time hiking and seeing the sights. Once again we were very pleased to be at this campground we even arrived on the first weekend it was opened. There are many sites to be seen like waterfalls, Overlooks, and even the NC Arboretum which is about 14 miles down the mountain. The Arboretum makes for a great day trip at around $8 per car, with plenty of trails to hike as well as beautiful scenery, flowers, and a nearby lake. One large bonus for us was that the Arboretum as well as the campground and surrounding areas are very pet friendly.
SC W
Nice location and a secluded site for our tent. Bathroom clean, but just one shower per gender for the whole campground means there can be substantial queues. Be aware that laundry facilities have not been available for some years, it seems recreation.gov has not updated that piece of information yet. Late check-in no problem.
Florida Sailor
One of our favorite campgrounds on the blue ridge Pkwy. Friendly helpful staff and beautiful well kept sites. Convenient location to visit both the Smokey Mountain park or to travel northward on the parkway. Small store available for essential items.
Kimberly Young
Nice camping community. Smaller bathrooms without shower had not heat, toilet paper or soap. Other than that it was a great experience. Bear box provided, because apparently they have a lot of bear sitings. We didn't have any wilderness friends thankfully. Woods surrounding with Creek. Kids loved that aspect.
Erin Urban
Fairly peaceful tent camping. The facilities are decent. It's pretty quiet, depending on when you camp. Holidays are booked early. Come prepared for occasional rain in the summer + chilly nights. It's a good place to be and close to a few trails.
Blackfeather666
Ok camp sites, bathrooms & showers a plus. camping store is in walking distance, lots to do in the area
D Updegrove
$20/night gets you a nice level tent site and access to water, restrooms, and hot showers. Easy access to hiking trails and camp store across the street. Some sites more secluded than others. Stayed in D11 and C7 and both were great.
Ashton Hooker
Great campground on the Blue Ridge! Be sure to pick a site away from the bathrooms/showers/water pump station. Some of the access paths to the bathrooms/showers go through camp sites. The campground itself is very beautiful and close to several trails, such as the Mount Pisgah Summit trail. If you plan on showering while you're here, be prepared to wait in line. There is 1 shower per gender and there is always a line of people waiting to use it, day or night. I'd stay here again--the sites were clean and convenient.
Dave Cox
One of my favorite Summer campgrounds due to high elevation (5,000ft). Daytime temperatures rarely get above 72 deg and nights are cool. Having the Pisgah Inn and General Store across the street (parkway) is great to grab food, ice, firewood, etc.. The restaurant at the Inn is nice to eat at. You can get take-out to bring back to camp, or sit in the rocking chairs at the main overlook at the inn.
Campsites are okay with water within 100 feet of most sites. Most sites have a lot of privacy due to being surrounded by rhododendron. As of June 2018, site specific reservations are allowed 6 months in advance (plan ahead for busy weekends or Fall Foliage).
Great hikes nearby. Mount Pisgah and Frying Pan Mountain (firetower) trailheads are 5min drive. Graveyard Fields and Black Balsam Knob are 20min drive West on Parkway. You can get out early before the crowds take all the parking.
Dave L
I just have my first visit to Mount Pisgah Campground and I thought it was a very well run and maintained place. There was a little bit of construction going on the loop I stayed at. Overall it was very nice. I wish there was a little bit more space in between the campsites but when you're located where this camp ground is, you have to make the most of your space.
Rawson Gordon II
Clean, together, served its purpose well. Dense mountain laurel encloses campsites, increasing privacy but blocking views. Very hilly, obviously, so might not be the favorite place of a family with small children who need to be entertained by riding bikes.
Eli B
Great campground, literally on top of the Pigsah mountains, so you will usually see fog in the mornings. We had a great spot here and didn't even see anyone else camping at the time, the tent spot felt secluded by the surrounding foliage. I do believe this campground is closed in the winter due to elevation, so you may want to look that up if it is coming in or going out of the season. There is a local hotel on the top of the mountain that is pretty pricey and I believe seasonal. Their restaurant has a decent selection at about $15+ a plate, and the closest grocery is about 10 miles or more back down the mountain - so if you are camping be prepared to already have your supplies with you or hit the store before you go up! Breathtaking views from multiple spots, one of the best mountain views on the East Coast for driving and car camping.
Jake
Very nice campground overall with good amenities. The one drawback is the tent sites weren't quite as secluded as I would have liked. They definitely offered some privacy but you were very close to your neighbor.
Len
Pet friendly. I have been here several times. It is a great place to spend the afternoon or camp out. I have used the individual campsites. The bathrooms are pretty clean, there is water and firepits. The pricing is very reasonable. There are many sights to see nearby. If I recall correctly, this is the highest elevation campsite on the Blue Ridge Plwy.
Corey Leigh
Campground worked great for our overnight stay needs. We tried to come in after dark, however, and the visibility on the Blue Ridge Parkway was nonexistent due to fog (clouds?). The facilities for the campground were great!
Tony Briceno
great little established campground. gravel pads for tents. fire rings with built in grill for cooking. bathrooms within walking distance of all campsites. a few showers. not true camping, but a great place that helps preserve the wilderness and provides a safe trip for the inexperienced.
Maureen Kelly
Hubby and I try to camp here twice a year. Love to see the leaves changing color in the fall. And again in May or June. There are so many things to do all along the Blueridge Highway. There is a great restaurant across the street with great food & breathtaking views. There is also a general store with washer, dryers, camping supplies and food. Also love the fact they have a shower in the bathroom.
Suzanne Huff
Wonderful sites. Designated level tent sites. Showers in some of the comfort stations. Very clean. Close to the restaurant. Go early to get on the reservation list. Amazing food. The store close by has ice and other food items
Nathan Whitsett
The camp grounds were clean, bear boxes provided, and fairly easy driving access to various trails/sights (Mt. Pisgah, Black Balsam, Graveyard Fields, Skinny Dip falls, Devil's courthouse). Camping sites right near parking for easy and convenient access, and staff were very friendly and helpful.
Alex Cantrell
Been coming since I was a kid. Still love the place. Nice, quiet, secluded.
Heather Johnson
Terrific tent campsites on loops C & D. Reserve in advance or plan to get here early as sites fill up quickly on busy weekends.
Comfort stations have bathrooms and hot showers, and the Pisgah Inn's store across the street has laundry facilities, firewood, and other necessities.
Peter Bense
Beautiful, all facilities great except inadequate provisions for washing dishes. A simple but significant oversight, especially given that this campground has showers.

Beautiful campground, secluded sites, friendly staff. Definitely will return. You might be able to squeeze in for breakfast at the Pisgah Inn.
Marylin Belcher
Love the Blue ridge parkway. Have stopped here several times over the years and a little disappointed this stop. Construction was in progress on a new ranger office there and that is not a problem. The problem was that grass was almost knee deep, bath houses were poorly kept and roads are breaking up and degrading a lot. Sad to see this campground in such a disarray. Use to be a favorite.
Chad Chamberlin
This is the best campground on the BRP. Nice spots, a little close together but beautiful thickets of rhododendron seperate the campsites. This is a great "home base" for exploring the black mountains and the smokies. Also there is WiFi available close to the office in case you just have to connect with the outside world. Also there are showers and plugs for a quick fast cell phone charge.
Kathleen Colello
Very neat camp. Bathrooms centrally located. Lots of seclusion from other campsites with tree cover. Lots of trails really close. The lodge is close if you want restaurant food while camping and driving the blue ridge.
Lenny Chew
Been here several times... Great campground! across the street from the renowned Pisgah Inn.. Many great hikes are in close proximity. Our family went on our first real camping trip out here 18 years ago when the campground was owned by the Inn...
Kim (The Foodie Farmer)
Busiest campground on the parkway. Awesome staff and on Friday and Saturday nights they have interactive learning seminars about plants, animals just things on the parkway. Highly recommend going to those. They're wonderful for kids and adults.
Mr Grinnpick
Nice campground located south of Asheville, NC on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Paved throughout with level campsites. Bathroom/shower facilities, store and restaurant across parkway. If you get tired if camping Pisgah Inn is located nearby. At an elevation of almost 5000 feet, it can get a little cool even in the summer months so pack a light jacket. Be sure to lock up all food as bears are known to roam the area.
SLB
Great place to have a weekend getaway.
Elizabeth R
Our family loved camping there! Heated bathrooms. Bear proof canisters located at the camp sites to store food items in.
We had some rowdy neighbors who stayed up all night drinking and goofing off. The next morning I got up to use the restroom and saw the Park Ranger giving them a ticket ;)
James “Trey” George
Not dirt cheap but they offer a lot of amenities. Mostly clean bathrooms and showers (warm, too!), drinking water, trash cans nearby, plenty of scrap wood laying around for fires, excellent hikes very nearby, attentive rangers. Would visit again!
Jackie Franklin
The best campground on the Parkway. Lots to do around here too. Clean, well maintained sites and restroom/shower facilities. Great staff, always friendly and helpful.

been there a dozen or more times. (btw it is near 5000' elevation, the entrance is right at 5000') quiet. clean, with showers and heated restrooms. this is the best campground on the Blue Ridge Parkway. ( we have been to every campground on the parkway).
Dianne McDowell
We camped therefor over 40 years and enjoyed it every time. We can't camp anymore but when we can getaway ergo spend a night or two at the inn. I recommend to anyoneThey now have showers the bathrooms that make it a plus.
Jack Underwood
Great camping as far away from civilization as one can get in a car. The Pisgah Inn Restaurant is just across the road for those who like to eat well while roughing it. Friendly and helpful staff, clean and right on the edge of the wilderness.
Dave In Alabama
Nice Campground, just a lot of people wondering around at night

Stay away! Leave it all for me! Great base camp but realize it is as close to off grid as it gets for a campground.

Matt Henshilwood
Awesome place. Maintained bathrooms, semi private camp sites, and nice staff. Very beautiful. Will definitely be back one day!
John T Kemper
Generally quiet and reasonably priced. No hook ups so generators can be annoying. The Inn and store across the Parkway are handy, but both are pricey and the store has a limited selection. Longish drive to grocery stores off the Parkway.
Marc Czarnecki
A Blue Ridge Parkway Campground with WiFi at the gatehouse. Trail access for Pisgah Mountain hike is from a parking area just east on the BRP or hike on the connected Mountain To Sea Trail. Campground has a nice diversity of tent and RV pads.
James Cross
2 bathrooms with one shower stall each for men's and ladies. Not enough for all sites. Need to give them a good scrubbing! Beautiful area, but 20 miles from civilization.
Audrey Wyzard

Great place. Weird how a lady walked up to us to bill us. I was wary if she was even working for the campground for how easy it would be for anyone to walk up and bill someone.
