This park has a lot of potential but is in need of some updating. The playground is in good shape, there's a big pool (that can get busy), outdoor basketball courts, and some nice seating near the Swannanoa River. The Nature Center is located just above the park and John B. Lewis Soccer Complex is just down the road.

Just a really cool place. I didn't know was there. It's a great way to get kids outside and walking. It's a nice nature walk, but lack snacks or drink spots. Also the petting zoo is a few goats and a couple donkeys who have a beware of biting sign. They should get some rabbits or chickens. At least that'd be a bit more interesting.

At 10a.m. on Tuesday the 12th of October 2022 I observed a solo staff member working to remove fallen leafs from the pool. It looked so clean, almost meditatively calm. Thank You, Parks and Rec for caring for all the facilities throughout the calendar year.

This park is in a good location by the River and Soccer fields. Unfortunately it is outdated and in need of some modifications. I love how the park is canopied by trees and has plenty of shade on a sunny day. I hope it will given some TLC soon. It's one of my favorite parks.

What happened to all the fun things that families used to enjoy. Bump cars, games to win prizes, hot dogs, cotton candy. I remember to good times. Now only the swimming pool and nature center. To cheap to offer families a good place to gather.

Had a lovely time walking the park. Everyone was happy that the park is open and the animals were out and looking good. Glad Asheville has such a well-run place of this type. Great for folks of all ages -- all access was handicap accessible. Everyone was wearing masks and the park had hand sanitizer stations and clean restrooms.

It was quite because the pool was closed. The bathroom was closed. The river was very pleasant & the sound soothing. There were covered areas which was good since it looked like rain. There was enough privacy.

Great spot! They have a pool in the summer, kid playground open year round, and you can rent the picnics shelters on the city website and hold events that range from small to large gatherings of 100 people. We rented a bounce house for the kids, which doesn't come with the park rental but is only another $100 or so.

Great place to get out. Pool - Is never heated. Pool entrance is filthy and littered with cigarette butts and trash. Pool staff is respectful. $3.00 to get in. Soccer fields are kept in great shape.

This is a great pool! Not too many ppl but Def enough trained lifeguards. Whether u want to swim w ur kids or swim alone there is plenty of room for all. Separate lanes for just laps also They also allow food & drinks (no alcohol or glass) so have a picnic!!!

Very neat park with a 50 meter pool, small play ground, soccer fields and ample parking. Also, there is a lot of shade and places for picnics including a picnic shelter. There is also access to the river.

Lovely day by the river, people were social distancing properly. Only drawback, bathrooms were closed!!! Yikes with the little ones we had to drive to the soccer complex to use the bathrooms.

can be a whole lot better if they work with the community they has no more rides or nothing to do for little kids there but play basketball or go swimming they should have a part for a five year olds all night so they can really play like a poster they got a little part on the edge of the pool

Have too place for families.....playgrounds well kept..... Nature center......Olympic size pool open 1 weekend after Buncombe county schools are out............enjoy the beautiful river too!!!!!

We went to the nature center and had a great time. It's a zoo with regional animals. It's really neat to see the bears from above. I highly recommend it!!
