We rented Goldy and the truck for 16 days. We had a wonderful experience with Zach & Colleen. We had our trip planned for over a year and a half in advance and any question I had, they answered. They were also very flexible with pick up/drop off timing and add-ons to the vehicles (sleeping bags, chairs, etc). For our family of 6 we had plenty of room and would definitely rent a Westy from them again. Driving the Westy was a thrill in itself and quite the conversation starter at the area campgrounds. We had a blast and highly recommend Last Frontier Westys!

We rented "Goldie" for a week just recently, going to Denali National Park. Overall, we gladly rate Last Frontier Westys 5 Stars Plus! We have no complaints, but it didn't necessarily begin that way. Expect what they tell you up front that their Campervans are vintage, and they are quirky. You are driving something that is nearly 40 years old, and it expects and deserves to be taken care of. Relax, drive 55 mph and enjoy the ride. Not expected by us at all, WE had the cool RV out there. Others loved it, photographed it, and we got caught up in the attention. It was fun but handle it gently like it deserves. Although it can indeed sleep 4, I can't imagine doing that and coming back friends! Instead, bring a tent so everyone has some alone time. Again, we had a blast!

I cant begin to describe what a life altering trip we had in Alaska and one of the best highlights was Ole Goldy! Waking up every day in nature, able to come and go as we pleased was truly the best way to travel. She was the perfect kind of comfort, so much so that my husband and I are shopping around for a Westy of our own. I cant begin to thank both Colleen and Zach enough! They were so hospitable and they helped us make the most of our trip. If you’re reading this, don’t second guess it and go for it! Worth every penny and more!!!! PS. The custom itinerary was amazing!! Helped take the stress out of planning and their suggestions were on point!!! Xoxo

We had the most amazing time with our Last Frontier rental! We had Clark for about 2 weeks and drove all along the Kenai Peninsulfa for our honeymoon. The van was in great condition and it was convenient to pull over at a beautiful spot, make lunch, take a nap if you want, and just have everything you need in one place. The owners were also super friendly and helpful, even after we literally snapped the key to the van (be careful with the keys, they're old!) and they helped us coordinate having a new one driven down from Anchorage. They even let us keep the van for an extra day (free of charge) to make up for the lost time on the road. We highly recommend Last Frontier Westys to anyone who's spending time in the Anchorage area and wants to explore, and we'll certainly be using them again next time we're in the area!

We had the BEST weekend in Sourdough! I don't think we can ever go back to camping without one of these beauties. We drove Sourdough out to Salmonfest in Ninilchik and it absolutely MADE the festival experience. Colleen and Zach had the van stocked with everything from camp chairs/table to playing cards and delicious ground coffee! I was especially stoked on the Pendleton blanket and cute tassel garland hanging in the windows. The boho #vanlife vibes could not be beat. It was so nice to sit around the table for meals and then cozy up for bed in the pop top. It is truly the most fabulous home on wheels. We 100% recommend renting a campervan from Last Frontier Westys. You will not regret it!

Westy’s was a fantastic choice for our honeymoon trip down to the coastline of Alaska. These vehicles are perfect and are made for road trips and have panoramic windows for viewing all the scenery that Alaska has to offer. They drive and ride comfortably on the road. Very relaxing. Zach was very accommodating and helpful explaining the details of the bus for us. I definitely recommend taking a trip with a Last Frontier Westy’s…… you won’t regret it!

Renting on of Last Frontier's Westys was an absolutely amazing experience. It felt like borrowing a van from a friend, instead of doing business with a huge corporation. The van was perfect, and Zach was 100% available for all of our questions. One thing I wasn't expecting was how these vans let you blend in with locals. When driving through an espresso hut, the barista would ask us for our punch cards (as if we were regulars.) It really helps you experience Alaska in a way that would be impossible in a huge RV.

Had the pleasure of renting Clark for two weeks while visiting Alaska and could not be happier. It truly was such a great experience and the van perfectly fit me and 3 friends plus all of our gear. Sleeping was comfortable and easy to set up. The van ran perfectly and was truly a champ. Zach and Colleen were wonderful to work with and were always quick to respond with any questions we had. Next time I am in Alaska I couldn’t imagine renting any other vehicle from any other company. Thank you!!

I’m not sure I can even write the right words to explain just how incredible our trip was with Clark! Our family rented the fleet of 4 for a family reunion and it was THE BEST! Driving down the highways with the ocean or lakes on the side and the majestic mountain views everywhere you look, windows down and music playing… I looked at my husband and told him I don’t think I could be happier than I was in those moments! So peaceful, nostalgic and just SO fun! Can’t even tell you how many waves, peace signs, and “SWEET RIDE!”’s we got while driving them around. Perfect trip and perfect ride!

We spent more than a week traversing the rugged mountains and lush valleys of the Kenai peninsula in Poly. Our time with her was splendid. Poly was the perfect size for my wife and I to cook meals together and use as a base for hiking to the Harding Ice Field overlooking Exit Glacier and going whale watching. Mandy was fantastic – she taught us how to take care of Poly and gave us tips for exploring Alaska. I encourage everyone to grab a good book, a blank journal and some colored pencils, your hiking gear, and venture out to see the exhilarating and glorious wilds of Alaska. Throw off the bowlines securing you to hotels, cable TV, and the Internet. Cut the line to your anchor of fear. Go. Explore. Become a traveler instead of a tourist. Meet Mandy and borrow Poly. You will be rewarded.

We rented in early October this year and had such a great time!! Zach and Colleen were super helpful before and during our trip--they really went above and beyond to make our Alaska trip special. Aside from their awesome customer service, what you get when renting with Last Frontier Westys is a super cool and fun way to explore Alaska! The panoramic views through the windows, the cozy and neat set-up of the bed and kitchen, and (let's face it) the incredibly rad look of their Westfalia made our trip unique and memorable. Trickster trips is an incredible company. The owner is dedicated to helping her renters enjoy Alaska and the westfalia lifestyle! I feel so lucky to have had a glimpse of this community. Sue (the westfalia I rented) and I had a blast. We got to explore Alaska at our own pace; waving at all the other VW buses along the way. I enjoyed showing off Sue and her logo! The little touches in the van were amazing, form local coffee and seasoning to comfy bedding and homey decorative pillows. Mandy created a fantastic itinerary for me, answered all my questions, and really made sure that I had a incredible time! I'd highly recommend exploring Alaska with Trickster Trips! If you want to explore Alaska and you are looking for an alternative way to do it, then Trickster Trips is your best choice! We had a nice week with Poly, travelling north from Anchorage to Fairbanks, visiting many wonderful places. Get prepared: vans are vintage, little setbacks could happen, but Mandy is always ready to help you with tips and suggestions. Our recommendations? Go camping inside Denali National Park: we did it and it was the best experience of our trip!

We are so happy that we rented a campervan from Mandy for our recent adventure in Alaska! Before we found Trickster Trips we were unsure how to make our trip work. Between the car rental and the cleaning fees for lodging, out trip was exceeding our budget. By renting 'Sue' from Trickster Trips we were able to do our own cooking, have some flexibility in our itinerary and feel like we were camping. Mandy's communication leading up to the trip was perfect. Not only did she help us prepare, but seemed as excited as we were about our adventure. When we met to start our journey, she was thorough and up front in her orientation. She did a wonderful job educating us on problems we might encounter while camping around Alaska in a van (although there were none!). Our van 'Sue' was stocked with exactly what we needed to sleep and cook comfortably. We loved how efficient the set up was inside the van. Nothing was loose or in our way when we were in transit. Mandy also helped to plan our itinerary (for an additional $50 this was 100% worth it!!). She shared her favorite camp spots, restaurants and attractions with us. Many of these additions to our itinerary were not places we would have found on our own. Mandy was also quick to respond while we were on the road. We had zero issues, but we did have pictures to share along the way. She always responded with excitement and encouragement. Having 'Sue' as our ride and home for the week make our trip the perfect adventure and a great way to connect as a family (there were two adults and two teens). We hope to be back again! Trickster Trips is fantastic! We spent 7 days in Sue during the second half of our Alaska Honeymoon and had an absolute blast. Van was well maintained and clean, upgraded with a Bluetooth-enabled stereo, plenty of room for sleeping (my husband is 6"1'). Mandy was generous and helpful at every opportunity. We highly recommend exploring Alaska in a Trickster Trips vehicle!

We spent 12 days in Goldy with our two boys. Mandy helped us with everything planning our trip including an amazing itinerary. She was very responsive and helped to answer any and all questions prior to booking. Our trip in Goldy was amazing from start to finish. We had everything we needed in the van and the ability to stay an extra day or change the trip slightly was awesome. We were not bound to any hotels or previous bookings. There was plenty of space for 4 to sleep (2 adults, a 12 year old that is 5'4 and our 10 year old. Goldy had it all! We had the trip of a lifetime and Alaska does not disappoint!

I had an amazing experience with Last Frontier! Pickup and drop-off was super easy. I received very thorough instructions and the van came with a booklet for any information I needed throughout my trip. I ended up having some pretty cold, rainy weather during my visit so it was awesome to get to be cozy inside the van. Also, I was worried about the pop-up but it was really easy to get up and down. Absolutely would recommend!

We had an incredible two weeks with Trickster Trips! It was really cool to see Alaska in such a unique way, with such an awesome vintage ride. Our van, Poly, had a heater which made those cold spring nights cozy and warm in the van. We loved camping in different places every night and having the freedom to explore with ease! We have recently rented Goldy, one of the Trickster Trips' classic Volkswagens. Wonderful experience! Mandy took great care to explain all of Goldy's characteristics and to make us comfortable using Goldy. So nice to just park somewhere in Alaska's awesome landscapes and have lunch or diner and enjoy the views. Everything you need to do that is available in Goldy's small kitchen and cupboards. Great customer service! Due to COVID-19, we were not able to make our trip, but Mandy was super responsive and friendly throughout the process. I highly recommend the trip planning service - Mandy took into account our preferences and restrictions and had a day-by-day itinerary with places to hike, places to eat, and, of course, where to stay - all with a custom Google Maps. Hopefully we get to visit Alaska again soon and drive a magic bus!

You'll have everything you need in an RV and the ability to park and get around smal towns without the hassle of a conventional motor home. I never want to camp in a tent again. It was amazing to see the staggering beauty of Alaska in this adorable little house on wheels. My husband, our two 8-year-olds and I had a blast exploring the state in Poly. We stayed in the van for six nights, covered about 800 miles, and we were planning our next trip back by day 2. We can’t wait to come back and see everything we missed. One lifetime is not enough for Alaska. I highly recommend having the freedom to give it a go in a Trickster Trips van!

My solo adventure with Trickster Trips was seamless and a whole lot of fun! I saddled up Poly the Synchro and took off for Seward, where I found a campsite right on the beach of Resurrection Bay. It was a freezing cold weekend but Poly's heater was warm and the stove worked like a champ. I didn't need to pop the top as the fold down seat gave me plenty of room to lay down and look out at the water. Highly recommend this company if you're a couple or small family looking to explore Alaska in a unique and independent way!

We are so happy we chose a Westy Camper van. It made our Alaskan adventure so fun. It had everything we needed stocked for camping. Our six year old loved sleeping in the pop up. The service and communication was excellent, Colleen set up an itinerary for us and made sure we didn’t miss any cool hiking spots.

I rented “Sue“ and she was a dream! She drove well, was in tiptop shape, and provided lots of space and everything we needed to camp for a few nights. I got a chance to take a look at two of the other vehicles and they all appear to be well taken care of and maintained. Mandy and Phil were Extremely helpful and very accommodating with our schedule. I literally cannot recommend Trickster Trips enough. We rented Poly for an 8 night roadtrip from Anchorage to the Kenai Peninsula and back up to Denali. We had 4 adults and initially planned on having one couple sleep in the van and the other sleep in a tent... We ended up all sleeping in the van every night. Traveling in a VW campervan was an unforgettable way to tackle the open road and discover Alaska. Having the ability to sleep wherever allowed us to let the trip develop naturally and go on adventures as we saw fit with minimal pre-planning or stress. Mandy was an amazing host and was so helpful while we planned the trip. She was very responsive and accommodating during our trip and could not have been a better advocate for us.

There was nothing better than renting a Westy with Trickster Trips. Mandy was a delight to deal with. Along with the kitchen in the Westy, she provides bear spray, a jug that holds enough water for days, maps, coffee, and supplies for Gin and Tonics (!!!). It was a wonderful B&B on wheels. When we had Sue, she responded to questions quicker than you can shut your phone's screen off. If I ever come back to road trip around Alaska, I'll be renting a Westy through Trickster.

This was the most amazing way for me to travel and visit over 1200 miles of beautiful Alaska!!! Godly has a rocking kitchen, solar power feature, huge water tank, multiple sleeping options and great power (manual shifter)...not to mention a great heater to knock off the sub freezing temp mornings! The van comes stocked with dishes, cookware, utensils, local complementary coffee, trash bags, dish washing soap and spices...EVEN COOKING SPRAY!!!! There’s great local magazines and an Alaskan mile marker book for some good reading material. Also!!!!!!! She comes with Bear spray AND bells!!!! I was beyond the moon pleased with Mandy’s trail run with me before I took off. Set up and take down trail, the full walk through!!! She also provided a great itinerary (nominal fee) once I provided some places and things I wanted to see and do!! (Even some Resturant options). She was available for any questions, concerns or hiccups along the way. Great local company and an awesome business woman!

If you want to make a typical family camping trip extra super fun I suggest going down to the Kenai Pennisula in a Trickster Trips van! My family had so much fun! We had a 2 year old and a 12-year-old and thoroughly enjoyed all the extra space and leg room. There are so many windows and the view was just all that much better being relaxed and humming along and singing songs inside of the van. Mandy thought of so many extra little details… There was a brand new cook stove, new pots and pans, wine glasses and an amazing high end spice kit to cook with! The organic cotton down pillows and down comforters were super luxurious! She included travel books, bear spray and a water jug. She walked me through a great orientation of the van before I left so I didn’t have to figure anything out. And we slept so well we did not wake up until 10 AM.... and I don’t think I’ve done that since I was in high school! I highly recommend this for a family trip, girls weekend or for when out of state guests come to town!

It had been 16 years since we sold our VW Vanagon camper when I rented "Poly" for a 4th of July trip. I knew I had found my "tribe" (VW lovers) when I saw the care these folks take with their vans. The van was in very good shape for its age, spotless, with lots of little touches and items to help make a camping trip possible, from a teapot to a cooler to sandwich bags and silverware. The extension cord came in handy at one point too. It's really nice to have a sink for cleaning my contact lenses and brushing my teeth; and a stove to heat water for oatmeal. Why did they ever take these vans off the market? Phillip gave me a wonderful orientation and test drive. When I forgot how to open the hatch that night, I called and he responded immediately. I slept the best I have since the pandemic began. Thank you Tripster Trips! I have already put in a reservation for Labor Day!

I was thrilled when my Alaska trip finally worked out and I found Tricker Trips Van rentals on instagram. I sent Mandy the owner a message on IG and then we started corresponding via email. She was informative, prompt and clear in her communications from the begginning. I ended up renting “Sue” the only westfalia in the fleet that is automatic. Upon pickup, we went through a 30 miniute walk around to get familiar with all the features of the VW and any FAQ’s. I was very comfortable driving the van and setting up camp in the vehicle, honestly it was way roomier and comfortable than I was expecting. I had a beautiful road trip through the Kenai Peninsula of Alaska, I have to credit riding and camping in vintage style to Tricker Trips and Sue the Westy. I can’t wait to do it again sometime!

Great way to tour Alaska! You can see the vistas while driving and camping with all you need included in the VW van. It's pricey but you save on hotels and restaurants. They book up fast in the summer so plan ahead.

Trickster was great. Personal touches from the owner, Mandy, made it extra special, and the van really made our varied uses (camping, fishing, commuting to a conference) over two weeks easy and carefree. Yes, there are a few minor quirks to keep in mind (car doesn’t remind you to turn off lights, most all controls are manual, etc), but those are things that should be obvious if you rent a VW van from the 1980’s...and hopefully that is why you rent a van like this. At least it is why we did. Everything was as-advertised and as expected. Great time in a great ride.
