A coworker that used to live in Louisiana brought in some jerky to try and it was so good I had to order three packages of it. This is the best beef jerky I have ever had. Make me want too up and move so I can enjoy all they have too offer.

This place was recommended to my by a friend as a must stop while I was in town and it did not disappoint! Great selection of all kinds of different fresh sausage, jerky, and more. Loved everything I got here and will be stopping again next time I'm out that way! The fresh hot sausage was really great FYI!

Was lucky enough to spend some time in Houma, and was able to stop by Bourgeois and sample the Boudin Burrito, which was savory and heated to perfection. Also got to try the Hog's head cheese. Both of which, Ive never had in my life. The meat quality, taste and seasoning were out of this world, and only enhanced by the temperament of the staff, who took pride in maximizing the customer experience. I for one cannot wait to come back when the new location is up and running. Cheers to the Bourgeois family, and here's to another 200 years. -Sean from Philly

The best Cajun meats you will ever eat. Great service..everyone is so friendly and helpful. Every vacation to the south will include a trip to Bourgeois to stock up on our favorite staples; sausages and boudin. The crawfish boudin, when in season, is a life experience. So are the Cracklings. All their other meats are exceptional. Any business that has been in operation as long as they have been is worth trying, and shopping local helps all small businesses. Please try Bourgeois, you will not be disappointed.

I love the beef jerky. You can’t go wrong. It’s pricy but SO WORTH IT. I always get a little depressed when I eat it all. The employees are wonderful. They work effectively and quickly but you never feel rushed or like a bother.

Came here specifically for the boudin and it was absolutely wonderful! We even had some shipped back home since we were in town for a few days. The boudin was juicy and flavorful, it left me wondering if I should have bought more! The jerky had a nice smoky flavor to it as well.

Definitely the best boudin in south Louisiana hands down. Absolutely the best beef jerky around. I live in Texas so most people rave about a place called Bucees and Woody's beef jerky, well let me tell you they're jerky has nothing on the beef jerky here. Their crawfish boudin well I say if you have never tried it you are missing one of the greatest pleasures on Earth. And that's just a couple of things this place offers the meat selection all fresh hand cut amazing. If you're ever in Thibodeaux, Louisiana you got to try this place.

I highly recommend this meat market. Their meats are smoked to perfection and the jerky is the BEST I've ever had, and as a truck driver I've tried many from all over this big beautiful counrty! I don't live in Louisiana so I've been loading up on my favorites and trying a few new things each time I go. Needless to say my "favorites" list is getting bigger every time. They keep the line moving, which is always long, but it would be worth the wait anyway just to stand there and smell all that goodness and know the quality and taste you are about to enjoy! Definitely 5 STARS!

When God wants to order specialty meats, He goes to Bourgeois Meat Market. I was born in Thibodaux, but live an hour away. I make it necessary to go there regularly and stock up on my favorites. Fantastic place!

Excellent meats, good prices, just walking up to the building you’re overwhelmed with incredibly good smells of smoked meats. Now as for the soup Nazi lady behind the counter is why a four-star instead of a five. I mean, I was just as nervous as Jerry Seinfeld ordering soup as if we were truly annoying her. Bummer for our first time there.

The sign outside says this business has existed since 1891. When I first moved to this area in the early 1990s it was there and for years I’d pass it on my way to Nicholls State. I’d smell a Smokey smell but from the outside it looked sorta unremarkable but one day I stopped out of curiosity. Inside a cow was hanging up and an old man behind the counter handed me a piece of beef jerky he said he cut from the pieces of meat in the fatty areas. Parts that may not have a name I suppose. It was the best beef jerky I’d ever had. In time I bought other Cajun meats from here not always knowing what they were as I was not local to the area. Product like Tasso which I now find is great in many things. I used to not even like other things like boudin until I had it here. I even misused other things like andouille sausage. I’d grill it and put it on a sandwich not knowing what it was for. Years later I know what everything here is and I’m married to a Cajun woman. I even worked for wildlife and fisheries for a few years. I’ve traveled all over the state of Louisiana and have now returned to Missississippi but when visiting I always like to stop here for memories. This time the place was super busy with a line stretching outside.

Would go here whenever I could scrape together cash while I was in college. I still make the drive from New Orleans for the Turkey/Hog head cheese,andouie,blood sausage boudin,cracklin and jerky. Its worth the drive and their cuts of steaks and chops are the best. Best Butcher around

Awesome service, I am not from there and they have good hospitality. They have what ya call "Turkey Cheese" which is a must get! It is to die for! It comes in mild and hot, and the hot is not hot at all. It gives it the right flavor. Both are excellent! All there stuff is good!

I use my frequent trips to LA to keep our freezer and our friends' freezers stocked with Cajun goodies. Bourgeois, LaPlace, and Mamou are my favorite stops. I will be doing the same today. Service is great, people are friendly and patient as I work out how much I can fit into my cooler. And they're happy to answer any questions. When I don't understand something, I ask and they answer.

My brother in law, Johnny Robinson, of Gray, LA introduced me to Bourgeois's beef jerky, and Boudin years ago. Every time we go to Louisianna, it has become tradition to go to Bourgeois's and get a pound of beef jerky and some Boudin. There is none better. We recently lost Johnny, but his memory will live on. Thank you Bourgeois's, I think of him when I stop by.

BEST STEAK EVER !!!! I am 62 years old and I bought the best steak I have ever eaten from BOURGEOIS’S !!! For valentine’s day, I bought 2 PRIME ribeyes 1 3/4 “ thick !!! Grilled them and had a wonderful dinner with my wife ! BEST EVER. I had the Valentines dinner PLUS i have eaten the steak for breakfast, Lunch, and dinner today … and I still have another meal !!! 5 meals from one steak !!! I WILL NEVER BUY A STEAK ANYWHERE EXCEPT BOURGEOIS MEAT MARKET !
