This is such an amazing shop with both great prices and incredible service. I recently placed an online order via email (I wasn't sure they carried it) but it was ready to go on time and very comparable in price to chain grocery stores. If you're going to get meat, go to Mike's - this is for sure one of the best butcher shops in the cities.

Never had a bad cut of meat from here! Imaginative brat and burger flavors, fantastic roasts, amazing jerky, and wonderful service. And I always try to time my trip around lunch time so I can have their delicious shredded beef sandwich for a lunch treat! So happy to see the current owners and staff continuing to uphold Mike's legacy. A gem of West St. Paul!

My God I will never buy a piece of meat from any other business from now until I die. Leslie knows her stuff better than anyone I've ever met. My wife has stopped here to pick up a few briskets for the holidays, but after moving into the area I stopped in for some amazing steaks to entertain some friends this weekend. Blown away by the quality the offered. The place has some really cool cuts, the staff and owner are friendly and the place has such a wonderful neighborhood feel. Stay away from pre-packaged dreck at the grocery store and stop in here!

Everything here is amazing! I recommend getting one of each of the kinds of brats and then doing a taste testing. We cut them up into smaller pieces and had everyone taste each brat and guess which flavor it was. They were all delicious, and it was so fun to try the different ones!

We love the friendly staff, free samples, and the willingness to work one-on-one with customers even in a busy environment. Definitely our first choice for anything meats/cheese. Prices are similar or better than grocery stores, but quality is absolutely superior!

This is by far my favorite butcher shop. We've tried butchers all around the twin cities and beyond and no one smokes their meats better than Mike's. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and let me tell you about the meats. Their smoked sausages and ham are AMAZING. I cant say enough good things about them. My only request is that they make a candle bc I want my apartment to smell like their shop

Really friendly and helpful staff. Went in for a rack of lamb (they were the only local butcher I could find that had lamb at all), and they frenched a rack on the spot. Fantastic cut of meat made a great dinner. Will definitely be back in the near future!

One of the few authentic butcher shops left. Amazing cuts of meat with a staff that knows what they are doing. If you're looking for an amazing lunch, their Roast Beef sandwich with barbecue and horseradish is a killer deal for just $5. Also, their stuffed cheeseburgers with bacon are another great choice. I just wish they would start carrying bison, but otherwise, the place for choice meats for a barbecue or just a nice dinner.

Mike's has the best cuts around. We recently moved to the area and it is a serious plus! We serve Mike's at all our BBQs and it's always a hit. The chicken is plump, the pork is tender, the steak is juicy. Their homemade buns are a perfect compliment to the hand pressed frozen burger patties and fresh wienies. And yes, it smells amazing in this place. If you are in the area, GO THERE! If you're not, it's worth the trip. They often have great deals on meat packs, as well.

great old school butcher shop. first rate beef jerky. world class porterhouse cut nice and thick. best in- house hot dogs around and the specialty of the house in my opinion is the smoked bacon brats. they also have flat iron steaks. the made in house buns are great too. i'm lucky to live nearby but well worth the drive from anywhere in the metro.

Tried the Turkey Jerky as its always one of my favorites and it was easily as good as any I've had. The meat is expertly cut, much better than anything you can get at a grocery store. A great selection of different stuff from Steak to Lamb Chops to specially flavored sausages. Also, grab a bag's of Earl's Minnesota made snacks. They carry lots of local sauces so its a great place to grab some gifts for relatives who like to cook.

Wonderful, helpful staff, ready to answer all your meat questions. No pre-formed meatloaf (a la Grundhofer's), or Gummi bear brats (a la Grundhofer's), but it's nice to have such a resource in the neighborhood. Beats the big food stores.

A great place. I've lived in the neighborhood for almost 6 years, and have been going to Mike's the entire time. Everything is terrific; steaks, jerky, ground beef, chicken, pork chops. Great service, and I'd never buy any of the aforementioned at a grocery store again. PS - their Thanksgiving turkeys are fantastic!!

This is a really great butcher shop and I will keep going as long as they stay open. They have a smaller selection but the quality is where it's at. I usually get some jerky, beef sticks, chicken breast, ground beef, and filet mignon. It is all super fresh and great prices. Also, Mike is a class act and will always make sure you leave satisfied.

Customer service here is always on point. There's never a long wait between customers and whenever you're helped you feel as though they're paying attention and not rushing you through your choices. Prices are reasonable and the stock always is fresh. The variety of fresh and frozen foods is also bolstered by a wide range of side options and other grocery items. To name a few, they have sodas, pancake/muffin/biscuit/brownie mixes, BBQ sauces, spices, chips, buns, and premade salads like tuna and potato. There are also an impressive array of brat varieties available fresh and frozen. I highly recommend the one with blueberry and bleu cheese! And, the chicken jerky is something I dream about.

I've only been here once, and bought the cheapest sirloin there. It was amazing! Very, very tender for that cut of meat. You won't find that in a grocery store, unless maybe Whole Foods, but their prices are insane! This was affordable and delicious, and if their sirloin was that good, I can only imagine what their ribeye is like!

Mike's Butcher Shop is a throwback to the good old days of the neighborhood butcher shop - incredible cuts of gorgeous meat, as well as seafood, and "all the fixin's" are on offer there. When you walk in the door, you immediately smell the sweet scent of smoke. I have been going to Mike's for years when I want the perfect steak - their rib eyes and New York strips are top-notch, and Mike's is my source for lamb chops, not to mention skin-on hot dogs and fantastic bratwurst! Mike's is worth a trip - you'll become a customer for life, I guarantee it!
