This is the place to buy great steaks. The frozen food selection has many items I keep going back to like the wild rice soup and the scalloped potatoes. The more eclectic cuts of meat are frozen but at least they have them; ham hock, oxtail, lamb. Their beef jerky does not keep very well and goes bad in a few days if not refrigerated. Well prepared, dried and salted beef jerky should stay unspoiled for months. That's my only knock on Hackenmuellers.

My wife and I have been going here over the last two years, and they have a great variety to choose from. We recently picked up bones for bone broth and it was amazing. The staff are always welcoming and happy to help when you have questions.

I love Hackenmueller's! Everything I've bought here has been outstanding quality and their prices are very reasonable. The service is also fantastic! It's a kitchy cool little market with some frozen items, bread and cheese in addition to meats. I stop in about every other week and prefer purchasing meats from them vs the grocery store. So glad to have them in cute little Robbinsdale!

We didn’t plan for extra company for Thanksgiving. I had heard about Hackenmuellers. We stopped in on Tuesday before Thanksgiving when we found out about our extra guests. They had a brown sugar spiral ham and that’s what we purchased. It was amazing. Everyone raved about the ham. Definitely making it a regular stop in the future.

Can't believe I've never rated this A+ butcher shop! Hands down the BEST brats in the cities. True blue German style. The staff is incredible and knows who you are. Great food, great service, an all-American style small business. LOVE this place! 4/5/22 Still one of the best. The staff are amazing and make it a good time to shop there. Still in LOVE with them. Been going there for many decades, a classic Meat Market known for their steaks, brats, ham and especially good bacon. Also a fair selection of Frozen foods and Bridgeman's ice cream among others. Small batch pancake syrup from Wisconsin and lingonberry jam from Sweden. Also as seen below one of the few places left that cuts a porterhouse steak.

I've frequent into your shop continuously over the years that I've lived in the area but never thought to post a review that's long overdue. You most certainly have the finest of meats in the area and a selection that's unbeatable. I love walking through the door and smelling the smoked meats immediately. Some of my favorites are your salmon spread and your homemade pasties. And of course the cuts of meat. I'm going to be making braised short ribs. I have six of the most beautiful looking pieces of meat that can't help but be mouth-watering when they are done. Thanks for being in the neighborhood for all these years!

So I've had their hams before which are AMAZING but this was the first time I've tried their beef jerky and pork jerky. Guys...it's sooooo good! The perfect amount of salt and their pork jerky is almost buttery. Such a treat! Please be sure to support these small meat markets. The meat is always better and they are a dying breed. This is literally a Craft and they've been doing it a long time!

Their bacon is thick and smoky, the salmon dip is incredible, the steaks are top notch. Most recently I have tried their prepared foods; the pot pie was fantastic.

This meat market has the best meats, at a great price. The old fashioned wieners are a must have as well as their bacon. If your there for steaks look around they have many yummy stuff in the cases. So much so that I usually spend more than I wanted to. Just cannot leave without the extras. Highly recommended.

Hackenmueller Meats is an awesome butcher local store with years of experience providing quality meat. They are the only place I can find stewing hens for gumbo. You can get jerky, seafood, sausage, ice cream, etc. Be sure you leave plenty of time before holidays to get your shopping done. I have been there before Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. The place is packed! Good food, good people!

The best butcher shop ever. 5 stars.. Even tho I’ve had poor customer service before, it’s worth dealing with. Just make sure you check what they give you before you go home or they won’t fix their mistakes. Again, the meat is amazing. I moved to Saint Paul and when I’m in that area I stop and get their jalapeño smoked sausages.

Great Birdtown joint! Great meat--absolutely one of the best butcher shops I've ever been, and I've been to quite a few. This place will even smoke and process meat for you--obviously paying more for a place in town to do that, but worth it here! Their chicken wings (smoked, buffalo, teriyaki, etc.) are awesome. I'm never disappointed because the quality of the meat here is a cut above the rest! Small town butcher in the city.

The service and advise is excellent. I love the salmon dip, which I used for appetizers. The stuffed pork chops were really good as well, but I didn't care to have it bone-in. Tried the soup, very tasty. They have homemade spaghetti meat sauce and dinners that are in the freezers. Definitely excited to try much more.

Fantastic sausages, full of flavor. Try the maple links and smoked Frank's. They cost about $6 a pound and are delicious. They always sample something and if you visit Pig Ate my Pizza across the street,this is definitely a place to stop in. You can even preorder if you need a larger amount for parties.

Great meat market. BUT, I wouldn't buy the frozen heggies pizzas from this place. I don't think they sell enough of them and they sit there too long, also they are stored in the same freezer as seafood.

I have been visiting this store for going on 30 years now. Many of the people who work there have a dry sense of humor, but that does not mean they are not friendly. If you are overly sensitive and need your hand held while picking out meat, maybe you should go elsewhere. If you are looking for great, fresh meat sold at a very reasonable price, you can't go wrong. You will have to be ok with standing shoulder to shoulder with other customers and having to choose a number and wait your turn. That is only because everyone in the area knows how great they are. They are willing to work with you to get you what you need. They have oxtail, bison, beef liver ect ... If you love meat, you will love Hackenmuellers meats.

My favorites include the stuffed pork chops, garlic butter chicken, old fashioned wieners and the pepper sticks. The staff is friendly and almost always busy with customers. Don't forget to reach for a number atop the meat counter. You won't get served quickly without a number. Once you've visited here a few times, don't be surprised if they remember your name.
