Reviews of The Strange Realms

I wanted to update my review because I have been playing star wars legion for a while at the store. They are so friendly and Robert is one of the nicest game store guys I have met in a long time. He's an old school gamer like myself so I might be biased. Take a moment and stop by, you won't regret it.

This place and owner are awesome. He has been so understanding and accomadating for a group of newbies. There's some great merchandise too, I love the selection. It provided the perfect atmosphere for our first time ever d&d campaign. He has snacks and drink too. He has a passion for this kind of in-person gaming. Keep up the great work Robert thank you! We will seen you soon!

Robert the owner is super accommodating, helpful and has a great personality. He also has a pretty decent selection of miniatures and DND supplies. Definitely recommend!

I came here for a figurine painting session and I can’t wait to return! They supplied the figurines, paint, and even the glue to hold the pieces together, if need be. All for an affordable price. This hidden gem is a great place for meeting and playing with friends!

I've been involved with the Tampa scene for RPGs since the early 2000s, and this is the best store I've been to simply because the owner and people who work there care. I've had great conversations and enjoy my time. While other stores may have a bigger selection, the friendliness of the staff keeps me coming back

Awesome place, showed up after seeing them on meetup and decided to check it out. Owner showed me around and was really cool. I ended up meeting a bunch of people and was even welcomed into a big D&D game that will likely turn into a regular thing for me. I didn't know anyone walking in and everybody I met was really cool and welcoming, definitely going to be back many times and thanks for making a rando off the street feel welcome!

My new favorite gaming store. They've gained a new loyal customer! Best selection of miniatures I've seen in a long time.

Great shop, all the employees are knowledgeable and helpful, even if they don't carry some items.
There is a large miniature selection, and they do custom resin printing for reasonable rates. Not sure how many files they have available "in stock", but you can send them your print files and they'll happily print them for you.
The front area contains several thousand mini products (around 12 shelves worth), a section for modern game books/boxes, and there is a decent selection of both DND and Warhammer games.
If anything, I'd say their painting/mini assembly section was a bit small, with only around 2-3 big racks of paints and some primers and a few brushes. Almost all of it is either Citadel, with some small selection of Vallejo or Army Painter stuff - they'll do custom orders if you need anything specific, though. If you're looking for things like P3 or other non-citadel paints, you're better off getting it elsewhere.
The back is set up for game tables. I saw at least five set up, each one large enough to host at least 6-12 people. You can rent one pretty inexpensively, and there is a "TV table" if you run electronic maps in your games. If not, there is an EXTENSIVE selection of terrain available. I didn't see any scatter terrain (like chests, pillars, etc.) but there are tons of keeps, towers, stargates, ships, full dungeon setups, etc. which can be used if you're paying for a table. I counted, floor to ceiling, around twenty or so shelves worth of terrain, both fantasy and sci-fi.
They're currently in construction setting up a second floor and making each table a private room. Sodas and chips are available for a small fee, which gets waived apparently when renting a table?
Discounts available when subbing to their Patreon is nice, especially if you're dropping some serious money on minis or suchlike in one trip.
The prices here are pretty decent for at least painting supplies, and standard pricing for minis. I've made two trips here so far with my GF and we've always gotten friendly service and very informative staff helping us.
Each "day" has different activities available, so make sure to check their Facebook group to find the day which supports your interests. Sunday mornings, for example, there is a painting class/event table, a DND5E game with a decent number of people. Saturday had a Warhammer 40K epic battle with full terrain laid out.
I've been to three local "game shops" which had either the bare minimum (mostly MTG or other card games) for RPGs, and almost no paints or minis available, and this one is a real treat in comparison. The staff loves RPGs and wargames, and it really shows in both the space and the discussions.

I recently moved to Tampa. I chose my apartment, based on its distance from this fantastic store. I play Warhammer every Friday and Saturday. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly. There are two rooms with tables to play table top war games, role playing games, and board games. There’s always plenty of space to play. Definitely come by and join the fun.

Such an amazing gaming store. The people here and the owner are what set this place apart with how kind and welcoming they are. Robert goes above and beyond for his customers and always has the best in stock gaming merchandise. The only place I will go for my gaming needs!
