Wow, what a great place to shop. The selections are very good on many of the familiar titles and others that I didn't recognize. I was not sure what to expect from this shop and was delightfully surprised at the variety of memorabilia and extra items to complete your set. Scott assisted us on the phone prior to our visit and had some items ready for review upon our arrival. He worked with all of the customers and was extremely well versed in all the questions asked. I am not a collector and haven't bought a comic book for decades, but I will shop here again. Thank you for such a nice experience and especially so near closing time.

He's always willing to help if you're looking for something specific and will try to track it down for you. I would highly recommend this place! The greatest comic book store I have ever been to. It is so nice to have a place that is so personable where strangers have conversations together about which characters they like the best. It is a place we can take our son who has special needs and he enjoys picking out his new kids comics that are always stocked. It is also a place where my husband can go and see great friends and knows he can always find whatever comic or graphic novel he wants. Of course our teenager would spend ours there if we let him. 🥰

So glad we found this shop! It’s a great spot, the owner is a class act and the quality of books are excellent so this is well worth the 1 hour drive. Love the way the books are displayed and cared for and friendly customer service. What else can you ask for? My only complaint is that it’s an hour away. If you’re close enough stop by and enjoy!

Great hidden gem in the Brandon area. So I Typed in nearest comic book spot near me. I came across Read More Comics. So I called owner told him I’m on my way. He stated I will be waiting for you. Bought a halo fall of reach hard back graphic novel from here like a year ago and was very very pleased. Honestly it was cheaper than anywhere else I looked online. I Hate Comics

Today was my 11th or 12th Free Comicbook Day that I've spent with Scott and the gang at Read More Comics. Despite the world shutting down last year, FCBD being set on a completely different day (it's been the second saturday in may since its inception) and Megacon sharing this weekend I had the BEST experience at the shop (a tall order as the entire reason I make the hour and 20 minute drive to get there is because each and every experience has been amazing. Helpful, knowledgable and extremely kind staff alone would keep me coming back, but like a true super hero Scott not only offers 25% off of any trade paperback (graphic novel) everyvsingle day but has an enormous $1 section, toys, statues and even apparel. If that weren't enough , this FCBD and ALL FCBDs I've spent with the gang they offer every single comic without restriction (with a polite understanding that you take only what you want to read and only one of each title so that everyone can enjoy the event). Too that on FCBD they also offer 50% off of MOST of the store (definitely every single book on the back issue wall) and still they find the time to offer free water and snacks in this god awful florida heat. Scott and the crew do all of this with a smile on their face, an anecdote on whichever superhero is your favorite and an uncanny ability to remember your name usually after only your first (of I promise you many) visit. Keep up the great work everyone and thank you for my favorite FCBD yet of years of amazing you've generously provided up until now. 10/10. Go visit them. You will he elated.

Great little hole in the wall. The location is brutal to get into and you probably have no idea it's even there, which is unfortunate. Im not a big comic guy but this location has a massive selection tucked away in a little store. The owner is very knowledgeable, he is a man of few words but if you have a question you will be glad to answer you and he's very knowledgeable. The selection of graphic novels is expansive and there is a 25% discount on all graphic novels which I think makes his price is very competitive across other businesses. I highly recommend this place for the novice or the advanced reader. Whether you are looking for a gem a rarity or just something new I'm certain you'll be able to find something that will make you happy.

An amazing comic store with an extremely large selection of last week and new this week titles. There are toys, statues, and graphic novels. This is a shop you want to go to if you love comics and comic book stuff. If it is your first time going and you use Google Maps it may take you behind the building. The brown awning and yellow buildings are behind. If you end up there proceed to go out and follow a small road to the right and it will be on your right hand side.

This is a place where you can let your nerdy little heart live. The owner of the shop is one of the nicest helpful easy going guy ever. He'll have a nice talk to you about almost anything making you feel like close friends. If you ever want he even will order comics or reserve then just for you. Any questions about any anything he will always be able or at least do his best to answer. He has a wide variety of toys and comics. There are also plenty of long boxes in the back, that will please anyone on the hunt. Very good selection to look through. The folks working here know their stuff. While looking through some of the new comics I did over hear a interesting conversation on Cheetos and which ones were the best. The people having the conversation were in agreement that the white cheese puff Cheetos do stink. The conversation alone was worth the visit, the collection of items is the real reason to stop by.

Plus this store has one of the only Shells restaurants in the state of Florida if you love seafood. So shop and eat or eat and shop .

I'm an avid reader, and I'm always on the hunt for good comic book stores, and I could give a review (good & bad) of just about every one in the Tampa Bay area. Of all the stores to choose from, my favorite HANDS DOWN is Read More Comics! I used to have a subscription at another store in Tampa Bay, but a few years ago I made the transition to Read More. Scott (the owner) is an honest man of integrity, who prides himself on treating each customer of his like gold. As a Daredevil completist, I know that Scott will ensure to get me the variants and hard to find comics without price gouging. It's also great to actually "talk shop" with an owner who actually READS COMICS (which should be the case with other store owners/staff, but typically not always the case). Plus, if you're looking for collections of great stories/graphic novels, there is no greater selection of GRAPHIC NOVELS/TPB's & Hardcovers ANYWHERE that I have witnessed (and I've been to Mile High Comics in Denver - the biggest comic store in the world), and the prices are ALWAYS 25% off the cover the price! Folks, the best LCS in Tampa Bay is READ MORE COMICS!!!

Read More Comics is the Best comic book store in Tampa bay bar none. Other places are bigger and may have more older books but RMC will always have the latest issues and Trades. The staff is super friendly and will talk to you about comics, movies anything. While I was there a woman walked in and didn't know what to buy her 10 year old the clerk advised of several options asking questions like what's his favorite hero? You can tell these guys really care about the hobby and are not just in it to make a quick buck like so many of these expanding Comic book chains. So if your ever in the area or better yet if you hear about a comic being sold out everywhere stop in here and I will bet Scott and his guys will have what you need. Been going to these guys for over 12 years now since before Read More and I can say Scott knows his stuff. Always great coming in every week to talk about the latest comics or whats going on in the tv/movie comic world. Keeps the conversation going without putting down anyones preferences. Wednesday is by far my favorite day of the week just to go in and grab my subscription and then some. He has some great suggestions based on either what you are reading or sometimes something found in his pull list that might surprise you. The store is set up with tons of books which I can never complain about, I'd rather have books over ordered then to come in the store and find my favorite comic not there. Overall just a great place to buy and talk about comics, because hey thats what i'm looking for in a comic book store.

I have been going to RMC pretty frequently over the past 6 months. The first time I went in everyone was friendly and more than helpful, even to this day. Scott the owner is a really good guy, very helpful and knowledgeable. If Scott does not have something in, he will order it for you. Overall I have never had a bad experience and will continue to go here frequently. There are other options in the area but I prefer going to RMC as I feel I have built a relationship here at RMC and do not feel like a stranger.

I had moved down to Florida in October of 2016. My first order of business was to find a new second home in a comic shop. RMC was my first and only stop. The owner was much more personable on my first trip there than anyone ever had been in all my years going to Midtown Comics while living in NY. Since that day, I have been coming to RMC every week at noon on the dot for opening. The owner has gone above and beyond for me as far as ordering issues and other merch for a character I have been personally attached to on a name basis. Many shops provide service to customers, but nobody is more passionate and loyal to their customers than RMC's owner and operator, Scott. RMC is THE place to go when you've got the itch to start collecting single issues or graphic novels. Nobody else could make you feel more at home and treated like a friend. I could never imagine how dreary Wednesdays would be without having RMC to go to. I've become a true believer in this shop. I recommend RMC to the highest degree possible.

My husband and I have gone to this place a lot. They have a big selection and the prices are reasonable, but we're finally going to start going to a competitor. It's a little farther away, but it's still locally owned. The problem is the customer service here has been really poor whenever we've gone in. We only stop by once or twice a month so we're not regulars, and I guess we don't "look" like comic geeks, but we still spend a good chunk of money whenever we show up. We're not looking for special treatment. But each time we show up, we've never once been greeted. We've never been asked "can I help you find anything". We've had employees push past or behind us without acknowledging us or apologising. There are times when we've gone in and the employees are chatting with friends, there or on the phone, and we've had to stand and wait for service. Once we were at the till and in the middle of ringing an order up, one of the employee's friends came in, and he dropped us to go over and start talking about plans they had for the night. After five minutes, my husband half-jokingly, half-annoyed said to me, "Gee, maybe we should just leave so we don't interrupt", and the employee finally came back over, but he looked annoyed and didn't apologise. The longest conversation I've ever had there with an employee was when I tried to make small talk at the register by mentioning a series I liked and he launched into a big tirade against it about how "crap" and "boring" it was. He's entitled to his opinion, but I was startled to have him belittle a customer's tastes like that. I didn't say anything else to him after that. So yes, we'll be going elsewhere. There's another small shop we visited for the first time where the staff was friendly and professional, and even though the selection isn't as good, because they've given us basic courtesies, we'll be going there instead. We're not looking to be best friends with anyone, just to shop at a place where we don't wind up feeling like we're in somebody's way. I'm not saying you shouldn't go to Read More, but I hope they learn to start treating all customers equally in the future. If they had done so from the beginning, we would have happily continued to shop there.

Greetings true believers. RMC is the undisputed king of comic shops this side of the mason/dixon...possibly even the solar system. The FCBD, black friday and 12:00 new years sales events have given my otherwise useless life meaning. Who can argue with 25% off the massive selection of trades and graphic novels every other day of the year. I felt like a kid again feverishly digging through the seemingly bottomless pit of $1 comics over the course of a couple years when completing my uncanny xmen collection. The owner Scott is friendly, easy on the eyes and always enthusiastic about offering recommendations on new titles. His lackey (who's name escapes me) has a manly beard which is a force to be reckoned with.
