Awesome little comic shop, glad it has stayed in business for so long. I have childhood memories of riding a bike with my friend down to buy a few packs of Magic the Gathering. A decade and a half later, they have always had helpful and knowledgeable staff. Huge selection of comics, and they still have a solid selection of MTG and D&D products as well--although they moved most of their "gaming" products to the Nerd Store in valley fair mall. If there is a comic you are looking for, this is one of the best places in Utah to look. Dr Volts is still as fantastic as it was when I was a kid, and that's pretty cool.

I walked in here for the first time ever in order to get some comic books sent off to be graded. I was amazed by how busy it was, soon realizing I had walked in at the start of a live raffle giveaway. They even briefly stopped the raffle to see how they could help me but I knew I interrupted and I was happy to wait until they finished. Despite not being entered in the raffle they still gave me $40+ in action figures for no reason. How cool is that!? After the raffle two gentleman inspected my comics and explained to a first timer what they’re looking for. They also explained the entire grading process including timeline and prices which were both more than fair! I can’t wait to get my graded comics back and plan to take more comics as well as some sealed video games up with me next time in hopes of having those graded through Dr Volts. By the way, during my adventure here I believe two mothers came in to buy Christmas gifts such as Pokémon cards and Dr Volts was very kind and helpful to them as well. I couldn’t recommend this place enough!

Great selection. Come here often to get Pokémon booster packs for my kid, always in stock. They also have a great collection of classic comics and contemporary comics and comic/pop culture memorabilia.

Dr. Volt's is an excellent example of a proper local comic collector outpost. Plenty of toys for the wayfinders to peruse (could use more Transformers 😁) and a ton of Funko for the Funko inclined. While their selection of backissues was compact, they had good variety and I feel the pricing was fair, given the selection of grades present. Really appreciate their organization in the long boxes: made it easy to find my way around... And I REALLY appreciated the 4 back issues they had that I needed. I'm in Utah for work a few times a year. Dr. Volt's provides a much needed respite from the grind when I'm there. Gratitude abounds. Definitely worth your time.

Incredible experience! I walked in and was immediately greeted with warmth and kindness by Jeff. I had no idea how the organizational system worked, how to find specific comics, which ones I'd have a hard time finding anywhere, etc. He non-judgementally helped me every step of the way and would give me space to browse but also check in to ensure I wasn't overwhelmed. I was worried about gatekeeping, going into a new comic store I'd never been in, but I genuinely felt welcomed here.

Great selection, including 25 cent bins and most back issues for $2. They've got relatively frequent sales as well. Very family-friendly, with a whole shelf of kid-friendly books, but still have plenty for older fans and collectors. My favorite comic store I've been to!

I am a huge comic book fan but most shops are terribly organized and dirty looking. Dr volts is my go to place cause the displays are great. They always have back orders and the newest stuff. A great community geek feel to it!

Great store. Under new management so I've seen some slippage in customer service. Asked them to hold a book and when I came back to get it it was not in my pull. Also asked for an issue of another book, td me it would be in in a few days and never got it. One thing that really bugs me is they charge more than cover price for variant covers on new books. Just seems like price gouging to me.

Great shop with very nice people. We first came to the shop 3 or 4 years ago for Free Comic Book day (which happens the first Saturday of May I think), and we’ve been every year since. Great selection of comics for kids and adults, both new issues and what appears to be a great selection of old issues as well. Check them out!

Excellent selection of books available at a very great location. I've been to other comic shops that feel almost afraid of what they're selling. The comics are the only things out but everything else is white or just plain colors. Dr. Volts is nothing like that. Top to bottom the store is colorful, the issues stand proud, and there are tons of other knick knacks at the front and back of the store. If you don't want new books but are looking for particular back issues, Dr. Volts is much less for your taste. If you're like me, looking for new issues or trades to fully read, this shop is just right. Other than the one issue, great store, fantastic worker and customer relations, excited to go back.

This is my favorite comic shop, ever. I have been collecting comics for 28 years. I also have been to comic book stores from California to Texas. I have to drive from American Fork and It's always worth the hour and a half trip! The owner Dave is a great friend and very flexible. Seem to have a decent stock of Pokemon stuff if you can catch it when it's there. Stuff is slightly marked up but reasonable I'd say. Was able to get a Zacian ETB (12 packs) for $75 and a pin party for $20. Some other places I've been have had straight up scalper prices so it's nice to see someone out in the local scene being reasonable.

This is, by far, the best comic store in the valley. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, great back issue selection, and the store is clean and orderly. It's a fun place to browse and see what you'll find or to add to your collection if you know exactly what you want.

I have been coming to this store for 19 years I have found everything i have needed to satisfy my comic book collecting as well as my daughters, Dave is very good at finding back issues if you don't have them in the store, he even found me the first appearance of (Green Lantern)John Stewart. These guys are amazing and I haven't ever been treated badly. In fact Dr.Voltz has been mentioned in two of my books, its a great place and worth the 40 min drive.

This is my favorite comic book store in Utah Valley, I used to go to Nerd store until I found this place. This is more focus on comics rather than games. Staff is very friendly and help you find what you need, also I think they get the comics faster than other places.

This is an all around great comic and toy shop. I don’t live close enough to make it my regular shop, but when I can’t find something and my comic shop doesn’t have or can’t get it, Dr Volts is the place that never lets me down. If you are in their area, this should be you comic shop. Great selection of trade paper backs, action figures, and comics. Great collectibles. They do have pops but not a huge selection. Great great shop.

Really like this shop, they have a good selection of comics and sometimes good action figures. Only reason it gets a 3 star is that you don't feel welcome when you go in. There is usually some sort event or tournament so the staff is usually doing that. Real locals only vibe

I love this place, the staff is extremely friendly and even knows us when we walk in to get our comics. I drive all the way from Sandy to get my comics through them and it's worth it. They even take the time to make sure we have our pre-orders right and always strike us a good deal on statues and big comic book sales. I've been going to them for four years now and never had a problem like other comic book stores in the valley. A+!

Went in for a daddy-daughter date, and we were the only ones in the place aside from the gentleman behind the counter. He was very patient, kind and accommodating to my daughter and I. Excellent selection of many brands. Image is my favorite and they have plenty of them. If you're into the more mainstream DC and Marvel, they've got a lot of that. I will frequently go just to browse for new things as well. They have a 70/30 split of Graphic Novels / Comics which I greatly appreciate.

OK...this place is such a great comic book shop. To address the first negative you might notice upon stepping into the store...yes, it is a small store. But, they fit a ton of comics in their confined space, and even manage to leave some room for action figures and other merchandise. Now, while they do fit a lot of inventory for the small space they have, they are a bit limited (you can only do so much with the space you have), that is where I have found that they are really REALLY great at ordering items for you. I am a huge fan of DC's Elseworlds comics (which are no longer in print), I have emailed the store, and the owner himself will contact me, usually within 24 hours, and he will let me know how much an item will cost before he places the order. Once the order is placed, within a couple of days (a week is the longest I have had to wait) he will email me to inform me that my order is in. And he doesn't want me to ever pay until I pick up my order. That is excellent service that makes up for their limits on shelf space. Basically, if they don't have it...they can get it for you, and will keep you very well informed. A clean store, a very helpful and friendly staff, and service that will find you what you want, even if they have to order it for you make for a great experience and a must visit for any comic book fan.

This is one of many comic stores I have visited that I definitely would recommend checking out. Everyone at this store is great. They don't look down on you if your knowledge isn't up to theirs. My wife even feels comfortable going into Dr.Volts, which is saying a lot, because there are a few other game/comic shops in town she will not go into with me. If you need gaming material (Magic, Heroclix, etc) or comics, this is the store to get it from in Salt Lake City.

I went into this store for the first time this last weekend expecting that, like in many other comic stores, I'd be disappointed by the inability to find what I wanted. I could not have been more wrong. Not only did they have a HUGE array of the series that I was looking for, but the staff was so friendly in helping me find it. I'm totally guilty of feeling a little insecure as a chick in a comic store but there was no weird "fake geek girl" stigma here and the guy behind the counter was a total bro when I bought the entire 1997 run of Thunderbolts. He DID up-sell me on a pop figurine but it was Bombshells Poison Ivy so I can't even be mad. And he threw in a freebie issue of X-Force, too. Overall, I'm disappointed that I don't live closer to Dr. Volt's so that I can throw my entire paycheck at them and build a dope ass collection of my favorite comics which they seemed to have in large supply. As I sit, fangirling over the early Moonstone/Hawkeye dynamic, I'll have Dr. Volt's to thank.
