Great store with plenty of materials for everyone. Books, manga, strategy books, tabletop games, role play games, dice,l and all sorts of gaming supplies. A huge area for group gaming and while we were there a tournament was wrapping up. Plenty of friends gathering for a great time and shared interests. I am glad I went and will be back again soon with my family.

I heard this store was a must stop, but had no idea how true that was. If you are into board games, collectables, books and comics, TCG, and more, this place has a huge selection to choose from. Very clean store with excellent customer service.

Probably the coolest place in Minnesota. I wish they would do a little more Pokemon, and yugioh. At least one case of high end singles would be nice and wouldn't be too hard to manage. Otherwise they have basically everything you can think of. Lots of statues too

We get over to this store every few months and have purchased a lot of board games and different cards over the years. We went today for the Black Friday sale and needed to change our infant. I made my way back to the bathrooms and discover no changing table or even a surface to use, very annoyed I walk back out of the bathroom unsure what to do. After standing there for a few minutes I decided to ask an employee and he jumped into action and got me into a semi-secluded area to change my daughter’s diaper. To the owner of The Source, please get a changing table in your restroom, nerds have kids too!

Whatever your favorite thing is they probably have it. Extensive selection of comics and collectibles plus all types of games. Board games, trading card games, D&D, tabletop games etc. There's also a nice selection of pre-owned games if you're looking for something that may be out of print. Staff is also very knowledgeable and very helpful.

What is there to say about the source that hasn't been said yet? This place is great. Very helpful staff, fair prices, and great selection no matter what geekery you dabble in. I do wish that they purchased and sold more common and uncommon cards, but I can't fault them for not wanting to manage the bulk they receive. Overall a good space for MtG Commander. With the store being so visible there are quite a few try-hard types, so expect to play against some while you are here.

Source Comics is my happy place. The employees are incredibly knowledgeable about the products they carry and they're helpful if I'm not able to find what I'm looking for. I have a hard time finding One Piece merch at other physical stores in the area, but Source Comics has this covered for me! Great selection.

This spot is rad if you are into anything from family board games to comics and warhammer. They have a decent sized game area where you can play tabletop games with strangers or friends. I personally love the selection of dice and Deck boxes. The staff were super friendly and I’ll definitely be returning.

One of my favorite stores, they have a great variety of wonderful board games, tabletop RPG books, so many neat miniatures, lots of comics, and fandom swag. They have a little something for everyone, and the people who work there are super friendly! It can be a little hard to navigate, but that's because it's so packed with cool stuff. Plus they are dog friendly!

You could always shop online, but if you're looking for a hands-on in-store experience for tabletop gaming and collectibles than this is the store for you. They have everything you can imagine from Warhammer 40K, dungeons & dragons, pokémon, to tons of different table top games. They also have paints, minis, dice, and friendly employees. Did I mention comic books 📚😅 Also there's a large area to play games with people. Great place to go highly recommend it.

Source Comics and Games is a much-loved local destination for games, game gear, cards, comics, and all things related to analogue enjoyment. I have been coming here since it was a beloved small corner shop down the street, and have watched with the rest of the community as it grew into the impressive space that is acquired years ago from a defunct video rental shop. You would be hard pressed to come here and not find what you are looking for. The selection is extensive, the staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and the network they maintain outside of the shop itself with sellers, creators, distributors, and more fills any gaps. This is the place to go for all things "nerd", though anyone of any lifestyle is welcomed with open arms. 😁

Absolutely massive game/comics/manga/wargames store. Biggest Warhammer/wargames section I've ever seen. Wide selection of paints and primers. Very good selection of Magic the Gathering cards on par with Rockhopper comics and games, but with a different selection of old sets. An excellent selection of singles on display for MTG. Comic selection is huge. Also had a manga section, but it's a bit smaller and lacks a bit compared even to Barnes and Noble. Very friendly staff. Has a membership card.

The Source is such a unique experience. If you love comic books, anime or Manga, table top gaming such as D&D this is the place to go. The have so much to look at. Paintable figures for gaming as well as all the supplies needed to do so. They have a phenomenal stock of Funko Pop figures, movie fan figures/figurines, toys, boxed games and SO much more. Great location in Roseville. It is definitely worth a visit. $$-$$$

Amazing board game selection! Even found some games that would be hard sells; like the Devil May Cry 5 Bloody Palace board game.... Which is pretty niche lol. My favorite game place by far. The store layout is nice too, you can see a lot of different things from any part of the store, but when you get into certain aisles it's a nice surprise to see there is even more to see! The staff were friendly, I didn't ask for help or anything, but I was checked on a couple times so that's great. I also got a DND sourcebook at a nice discount, so that made it even better haha.

First time here was recommended by barnes & nobles. You can find many rare collectable comics, manga, and not least tcg cards. They also held game tournaments for fun times at certain time of the day. Many friendly staff who asked if you need help which is a plus. I would recommend anyone to pay a visit here if they are looking for rare collector set.

Absolutely astonishing. I love this place! If you like comics and board games this is literally perfect for you. My favorite part is the bundles. I was able to get Munchkin Comics from issue 1 to 7, each comic is 4 dollars. Guess how much the bundle was? TWO DOLLARS. It's a bargain. So amazing I would recommend this place even if you don't like comics. They have statues, dice and even miniatures! It's a place for everything you want out of a nerd store.

They have a lot of stock, and if you're looking for a game or comic they probably have it. But they often get things much later than you might expect, and they don't participate in bits & mortar, which is a free service that gives you a pdf when you buy an rpg book from a participating publisher (almost everyone but wotc at this point). Staff is helpful, but you have to grab one of them from the counter, no one really walks the floor to help. Gaming space is small. Don't expect anyone working there to remember you either, it really lacks the friendly local game store feel and is more like a big store with games in it.

Overall great Game and comic store. Their selection is massive in board games, TCG packs (singles are really slim), comics, and any accessories needed. The staff is super helpful and will answer any questions and give recommendations too. Probably my favorite LGS to go to in st. Paul.

My son and I came in to purchase D&D figurines for his birthday July 18th. We purchase a large dragon from clearance and a couple of figurines out of the case. We had great customer service who answered our questions and helped with the case. We highly recommend The Source.

Nice store in general. The layout is nicely done and easy to find what you need. Service was friendly and informative. Only reason for 4 stars vs 5 is they are a bit overpriced on some things (I.e. Funkos and some comics) and I’m not a fan of having to pay for a loyalty program.

Lots and lots of games, huge store. To me the comics back issues are set up in a somewhat awkward way. But once you get used to it they seem to have a large and reasonably priced collection. Lots of employees were there on a Saturday but not one out on the sales floor approached me or offered to assist me. Oh well.

This may not be the best gaming store in the country, but it is the best I have visited. Wonderful stock of comics, books, games of all types, collectables,etc. Store is full but not cluttered. Organized well, allows for easy browsing. I have visited many times now and I still find new things. A great, great store. If I ever owned a game store I would want it to be like this.

Awesome store. We mostly went there for magic the gathering things. Fill a box (about 400 cards) for $15. They have cool and funny card deck boxes and sleeves as well. They have many many card games, dnd things, nerd things, comic books, some larp weapons, etc. Recommend you at least check this place out for the sake of your inner nerd.

Update: this place is great, the staff are incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. While stopping by I was asked by 3 different employees if I needed help finding anything. When I asked about a product that only had 1 of the 7 products, the staff explained how its currently in developer lockdown and no news about re-release. I've gone here a few times and enjoyed the experience. The staff are friendly and attentive and very knowledgeable about products. Board games, comics, war gaming miniatures, and painting supplies can all be found here. If they don't have something they often can order it for ya.

I primarily utilize The Source for board games and I would say they are the best in the state of MN. The gaming stock available is amazing and I appreciate being able to browse physical inventory. From a hobbyist standpoint, the painting supplies are largely going online and I appreciate being able to speak with actual people and seeing a wide variety of product. The staff is experienced and gives top notch advice. I do not take advantage of the gaming area, but it is always busy. This is truly a community store that has cultivated a loyal following.

I was really impressed until I tried to leave and purchase my things, the internet was down so they said I couldn’t purchase anything. This is a spacious building with board games, card games, miniatures, manga, comic books, tables for gaming, tournaments. Pokemon, magic the gathering, dice, etc. The staff was nice and the price is reasonable. We felt safe with customers and staff nearly all wearing masks. We bought a MTG commander deck and a couple of Pokemon booster packs.

This week I accidentally bought two different covers of the second edition of a new comic I was interested in. Not know that it wasn't the first and second number but an alternative cover of number 2. I brought it back in, explained to the person at the counter, they said no problem. Asked if I had the receipt which would make it easier but not to worry if I didn't. One of the other worker ran out to get number one and returned with 3 alternative covers for number 1. Great service! Been getting better. Nice to see.

Source Comic & Games has most everything one would need for Magic the Gathering. I come here at least once a week to look at and pick up cards/games. The prices of packs are overpriced compared to Amazon but the store and it's community is worth a few extra dollars. Source has a plethora of the things you would need for RPGs, card games, board games, comics and more. Overall, this store has variety, an active play area, and friendly staff. Highly recommend!

Staff is always welcoming here. The mtg booster selection here is really expansive, spanning back at least 10-15 years. Dayton was really helpful with picking out some new manga as well. Definitely get the membership if you plan on visiting multiple times, it will pay for itself. Well stocked store, great staff.

I have been going to The Source for years, and it continues to be my go-to game store in the north metro. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about their inventory, and they're pretty friendly. There is a large area for gaming, and they always have new releases available on time. I love that they offer preorder services, and they make the process easy. If you're looking for a nerdy comic/game store that will treat you right, look no further.

Excellent selection of games, miniatures and comics. Prices are a little high, and customer service can be inconsistent. Usually if I have a question and it is slow I get quick help and a thoughtful input but if it is busy or they are having a good conversation behind the counter you have to get their attention. I would have loved to check out some of their gaming nights but when I asked after a specific day or time people were in to play they the response was "Oh, just come by anytime. People are always playing." If I am going to set aside time to play a game at a place it would be nice to have an idea if anyone would be there and what game I should prepare for.

It's hard to pick favorites but this is my personal favorite comic shop in the Twin Cities. I would think it's impossible to rival their selection of new comics. They put on a show of force every Wednesday, and it is impressive and I always leave with a stack of books. Come check their store out if you are looking to get into or get more comics.

A HUGE selection of TTG games, dice, books, miniatures, apparel, and merch! Accompanied by a very impressive collection of comics, trade and back issues, as well as even noting local comics being published on their shelves Source was impressive to shop. They also sport quite a large manga collection too. The back third of the store seems to be dedicated to tabels for cards and TTG and to top it all off a huge table for miniatures! While I was in there was a group setting up a bunch of landscape on it and that was a treat to see as that was something unique that I had never seen before. All in all, an excellent shop with plenty of space and ton of variety to capture whatever your nerd fancy may be.

The source is a great place for everything geeky. I use that word with love not disrespect. From comic books to, gaming, and toys this place has a great inventory. Only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating is due to the MSRP pricing on everything. When you can have other stores order the same games for a few bucks cheaper it is hard for me to buy games at full retail from the Source.

Used to come to the old location all the time as a kid to buy comics, manga, and magic cards. Haven't been there that much recently except to buy some single cards but I really respect the store for what it does as one of the Twin Cities most important local game stores. They have a large collection of different stuff. Other specialty stores may have a better collection of just cards or comics or games but I think this place does the best at having everything. Store is well staffed and they are knowledgeable. Prices are reasonable but for games you may find better deals elsewhere.

If you're looking for a good place to shop for the latest comic book or table top game, The Source is a great place to start. They have great service and many options to choose from. If comics aren't your thing, they have other collectables such as figures, statues, and miniature games. Most of the figure selections are at reasonable prices, but others such as Star Wars Power of the Force II can be a bit over priced compared to what you find online. Older comics can be hit or miss. Holding onto older comics can take up a lot of room at any comic shop but some collectors like myself prefer them over books produced in the last decade. Other than that, it's one of the best places in the area to get your collectable fill!

My good friend brought me here on a whim (also to pick up his held comics) and to say I was impressed was an understatement. Comics from wall to wall, models, statues, toys, cards, etc... In the far corner I could hear a group of friends playing a rousing game of Dungeons & Dragons. There were tables nearby for world building games as well. They had comics I'd never known existed, many from local artists that were held together by staples. Parking was plentiful, the staff was friendly. All in all a great experience. My only complaint, I didn't realize how much comics cost nowadays, but I certainly won't be holding that against them.

The store, the employees, this place is great. But this isn't the first time I've heard people exasperated over whoever this clown manager is. I'm truly disappointed.

I love it, go there for hours to look at cards, no one bothers me and it's one of my favorite things to do now. Their comic selection is great, I don't think I've even looked through half of what they have and I've spent hours in those comic isles! But by far my main reason for coming back is the foreign magic booster packs they sell, haven't been able to find them anywhere else. All in all my first choice is always Source for the variety that they offer, amazing customer service (one guy now greats me and recognizes me now and how friendly they are about it just makes me feel at home), and those foreign booster packs. Only complaint is the single card selection (higher price point than typical common/uncommons) for magic is smaller than other places I've been too. That being said the layout is by set, color, and commanders, which is amazing if you're just looking for random stuff as inspiration for new decks.

This is one of my favorite places to visit in the Twin Cities area. We often visit almost every time we're in the area. While I'm not a big comic book guy, I do enjoy the collectibles and board games that they have. I could spend an hour walking up and down the aisles here looking at everything. During this visit, we didn't pick up a whole lot. But we found some LEGO minifigures that we really liked. These tend to be rather spendy secondhand, but their prices here were great. For those that want to play tabletop games, they offer that too! Play with friends or strangers. Good times!

I've been checking this place out for a number of years and even went to their old location off Snelling and Larpentaur (Yeah, I've been checking it out for that long...) and they have a pretty incredible selection comics, models, and gaming supplies and materials. Pricing on most items in comparable with most places you'd find on EBay or online. I'm a Star Trek Fan, so they have a limited supply of models and accessories in stock. It's cool - I'm not sure how popular they are. And they had a great stock of Eaglemoss models when their last series was out - all at standard retail. As long as the items aren't discontinued, they're willing to order them for you for no additional fee. Feel free to ask at the register. Staff is great and will help you the best they can.

Throughout my years, the Source has always been a fun place to visit. Weather I actually need something, or to kill some time. The staff is friendly and (usually) knows how to help. Sometimes incredibly busy, there is rarely a time where they seem shortstaffed. If I need something unlocked from a display case it's never more than a moment until I can get assistance. The place is clean, well lit, and above all; Organized. Back in the day the place used to be so cramped. Small isles, bad labeling, and worst off all, I always felt I was in someone's way. Only occasionally when it's really busy do I ever feel like that at The source's "new" location. This FLGS is EXCELLENT. They encourage all sorts of gaming. They went out of their way to make room for my group to game, they have a very wide variety of offerings and reasonable prices. I hate the chairs they have there though, so I'll remember to bring a pillow next time.

I like the Source but feel like it has changed, it seems like most of the people working there are not excited to be working there or about what they are selling. In fact I go to the source atleast 2 times a month since they have moved to the new location and just last week was the first time an employee talked to me and seemed excited for the game I was looking at. Considering how the retail market is now days I would think that the Source would want to have top notch service to compensate for selling at retail price.

My favorite FLGS! They carry all sorts of games (board, card, RPG, etc...). They also carry comics (as their name says). Along with that, they have a game room in the back for use (no charge). But if you want space on the weekend or afternoon/evening, call ahead to reserve. On Wednesday, they host D&D 5e Adventurer's League, and consistently have 11 tables full (starting at 6:00, ending at 9:00), and occassionally host an DDAL Epic.

My boys and I play the pokemon league here. They do the job. I don't expect great service from us geeks, lol. But with that said, a couple of the guys there are really cool once you get them talking. They have everything I need for card games. They can be a bit pricey on some things. The collectable card game prices are good. The don't jack up those products beyond the MSRP and if you sign up for the source club membership $10, you get 10% off your purchases for a year. It helps and shopping there helps them to provide a place for the community to play.
