Reviews of Eat My Words Bookstore
Megan Ruch
The building may look small but worlds live in here! Super cute, wonderful prices, and a very kind store owner make this place welcoming and guarantees you will leave with at least 3 books. Stop by!
In case you need a sign: go get that book you've been thinking about. It helps a small business!
Jacob Vander Weit
A quaint bookstore in NE Minneapolis. They have a fantastic selection at very competitive prices. The staff are super friendly. The parking is mainly street parking but very accessible. Love coming here!
Nicole Chai Britson
This is the kind of bookstore that bookworms dream of. It’s so much bigger than it seems on the outside. It has tall meandering aisles filled with books on so many subjects and genres, it has reading nooks, it has locally crafted gifts for sale, it has local interest pamphlets and arts information, it has a puzzle exchange cabinet! It smells like a bookstore should - paper and must, not perfumed air and sawdust like a big chain store. Used books and used book prices. No unhappy surprises, only treasures.
George Effrem
It has a wide selection of books that cover a variety of different topics and plenty of fiction for enjoyable reading. It is in a comfortable place to visit and plenty of parking.
Carolina Margaria
A bookworm paradise!
The staff was friendly and helpful and it was the perfect place for when you are on the hunt for a new read.
Bryan Thao Worra
One of the best bookstores in Northeast Minneapolis with a wide variety of selections and hard to find items. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area
Shoumit Karnik
Amazing quaint little bookstore right in Sheridan. Has a lot of good books at great prices. The books are in amazing condition and there are a lot of vintage books and first/second editions for collectors too. The owner is a pretty friendly guy as well. Do visit this place whenever in the vicinity!
Suzanne Durkacs
Great space with comfy chairs and a couch. My husband likes to shop at the bookstore. I like to relax. The place is clean. Quiet, no music playing right now. The front door is open. It’s a great spot to visit after having dinner in the neighborhood.
Stephanie Weiss
What a fabulous book store!!! Well-organized and many, many sections!! Steve was great!
Rachel Vander Weit
small (but packed) bookstore with a lot of cool old books. saw a lot of cool editions. a place with a lot of charm
John O'Neill
A fantastic collection of rare and older books at great prices. It's an eccentric and welcoming store. We found a rare child psychology book we had not seen elsewhere.
Kristina Winn
Despite its smaller space, it's chock full of great books. They have a section for local authors as well. A very nice space.
Kerry Ross
Wonderful bookstore can't wait to return!
Ronda Kisner
A great used bookstore! The new location is nicely laid out.
Michael Waldegerma
Great selection of books in a variety of subjects. They have ample seating throughout if you wanna flip through some books as well. Always fun to walk in and browse, staff have always been very friendly and helpful/resourceful.
There's also other things on sale like bowls and vanity boxes, etc., that are handmade.
Tri Vo
Did our Open Theater Driveway Puppet show here. Had to indoors because of rain -- the shelves were on wheels and moveable, great audience + kind and helpful staff. Quiet yet whimsical library design and interior arrangement.
Gina VanArnam
I love this place! It's got a great diversity of books, and is super cute.
Joe de la Cova
Small friendly store in an interesting part of Northeast Mpls. Has a nice collection of used books and a few new. Good new offerings of poetry. Like the better used book stores, has many not too common books, well selected. Strong in history and music. You will enjoy a stop there. Coffee shop, restaurants, gift stores nearby.
Gabrielle LaPlante
easily my favorite local bookstore! beautiful space, awesome selection, and super reasonable prices.
Stephen LaJeunesse
Friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic staff make for a great used book store experience and this place has all three. Great place to stop and look around for old books, with a nice little ceramics boutique as well.
Judy Bearman
I find the best greeting cards at this store. It’s a friendly environment and fits so well in our neighborhood.
Mark Chapman
One of the best indie used bookstores in the city. Fun, whimsical and jam packed. Oh, and great prices.
Casey
This os a great spot for bibliophiles! Lots and lots of stacks of books with a small but comfortable seating area. Really great wide selection. Plus you can't beat that old book smell!
Brianna B
Had THE best hour at this place searching thru old books. I'll be back as soon as I have the money to make these amazing treasures mine! Found THE coolest Braille book that was an introduction to learning Braille. Wow! The number of hands that book has been touched by and lives changed.
Tabatha Grimesrichfield
At first I was hesitant on this store because I didnt understand the organization and thought the front was all there was. Once I noticed the back and how things were placed I found a few books that peaked my interest. Prices were ok. If your wondering how much a book is the price is marked in pencil inside the cover of the books. Overall they had a large selection and I like what I got.
Trey Richards
This store has a great atmosphere and is full of great used books! I was able to find an armful of used nature books for a very reasonable price. The staff is very friendly and honest :)
George Lastlin
My 3 stars needs a qualifier. The books here have a much older average age than your usual used bookstore, so this place is easily a 4 for someone looking for a rare or more unique publication. There are some definite gems you could flip for profit on Ebay, including some well-preserved multi-volume sets.
Daniel Garcia
Giving it a more kind review in a future free of Covid possibly, but this difficult to navigate and pricey addition to Minneapolis book sellers has a lack of focus and preponderance of dust. The properties herein are priced to sit.
Sarah Carsello
There are lots and lots of books to choose from! Mostly used and some were very, very old. It's not very clear where you go to pay, but the individual sitting near the front door let us pay him. It's definitely a niche bookstore to go in and spend hours perusing.
Brandon Hemmelgarn
Very cute & cozy bookstore. You won't be finding the newest releases here, but you will find well-loved classics and interesting finds. Highly recommend stopping in!
Bill Albing
Great collection of used books in great shape. Friendly staff, not crowded, good air flow.

Eat My Words bookstore has the Minnesota charm with a legit sensibility. Full of the wry humor we are so famous for, the bookstore nonetheless has a serious selection of gently used books. My particular favorites are the books from the 1800s and early 1900s!
Jennifer Ivers, Realtor

This is such a unique and wonderful bookstore. The owner and staff clearly love books and readers of all kinds. I was (jokingly, I think?) offered a book in exchange for a slice of pizza. Felt welcomed immediately upon entering, and is now a regular stop I make whenever I'm in this part of town.

Tucked away in the Art District is this great bookstore. From A to Z and from today to far into the past you will find well-known and also unique things. The bookstore invites you to linger and if we hadn't had a weight limit on the return flight, we would have taken more than three books with us. :)
