Literally the best comic book shop I’ve ever been to. My wife & I had a blast looking through everything. The guy was incredibly helpful & knowledgeable about everything, guided us exactly where we were looking, spent an hour there & easily could have been there for several more. Walked away with almost 100 comics my first trip there, definitely will return.

This is my FAVORITE comic book shop, been an coming here about a little over a year. If you're going comic book hunting, you MUST come check this shop out. J.R. is the reason why I keep coming back, he's genuinely a really nice person, which I really appreciate a lot. Every time I was on the look out for a certain series, he's been pretty on top of it. My son and I went here for the first time and the place was packed with comics. They had everything in order and organized alphabetically. They had Funko Pops, action figures, and posters. The service there was amazing too. My son is only 10 years old and he was looking for comic books that were right for his age and the owner was helping us pick which ones were appropriate for him. My son spent forever there choosing out of ALL the comics they had. They had everything he was looking for and was tempted to buy everything. This place was awesome!

Just got into comics recently and I checked out all of the stores in the area and this by far the best one. JR is a super nice and helpful guy. They have more back issues than any other store I’ve seen. They also have very reasonable prices. After going around to all the comic book stores I wouldn’t shop anywhere other than Vortex. Customer service is top notch and the main reason I keep coming back to this store to spend my money.

First time here today was really happy and satisfied with the experience. The shop is clean and inviting. Owner was cool and was helpful in me figuring out his shops back order organization. Took me awhile to find my own issues (green arrow) but that could be newbie looking. A great inventory of everything. Had a lot od blue beetle which I liked. Also fantastic prices cant go wrong.

Massive selection of both old and new comics! Very reasonable prices on everything. The staff was also very personable and were great to talk too. Tons of information on the many of the issues and gave great recommendations. Overall a wonderfully experience! I definitely recommend giving this place a visit if you're looking for a comic book shop with character and quality!

My experience here my first time was good just a little problem as I was checking the comics the front desk person told me not to bend them when I clearly wasnt I was just checking them out tryna pull them slowly I dont know how I was bending them but I guess he was just telling me because he cares ab the comic books and their value but the ones I was seeing where worth 1 to 6 dollars but just that little problem overall they have a good selection of comic books

First time here Friday 11/5/21 ! It definitely impressed me. I could’ve easily spent $300 here today, however, the owner(?) J.R. said : ‘ You could hold off and buy these in December when all is 50% off ‘ . THAT floored me. He took $ out of his pocket, in essence, to inform me of a 50% off sale ? I had INSTANT RESPECT, to say the least. We’ll, Daddy was hungry for comix so I dropped $126. Told JR we’ll absolutely be back in December for the sale !! I went here for Free Comic Book day. They opened early to let ppl in. I wanted to buy something to support the store for doing the event but there isn't much to look at except comics and Batman figurines. On the way out, an employee yelled at my friends and I to stop and see what free comics we took. We would have done it ourselves except there was not instructions to. Nor was there instructions on which way the line to pick comics was, so ppl were trying to pick comics from multiple directions.

One of the best stores to go to. Walked in the door an the owner greeted me and asked if I was looking for anything specific. From that moment on we talked for a half hour about comics an all. The owner was real nice and the deals you cant beat. 20% off of all new comics!!! You cant beat that will the selection he has. And its not just 20% off of new comics, cause I got 20% off of comics that came out years ago. Amazing deal an nice atmosphere. Will definitely be going back to his store and being a regular customer. P.s. I live 30 minutes away an its worth the drive.

I have been coming to the store for years and it is a real gem in the comic book world. The owner is almost always on hand and is happy to chat and offer thoughts and swap stories. The strength of the store, in addition to the service and prices, is not only the easy parking and close proximity to both the city and the freeway but largely in the library of back issues that they keep on hand. Whether you're looking for something new or something used, maybe just browsing for a gift and need some advice, I highly recommend.

By my far my favorite comic book store in the area. The owner is super friendly and helpful. He really has a passion for comics and that comes through in his store. He has always helped me find what I'm looking for and has even offered to set aside any comics I may need. The store also has a great selection of back issues for a good price if you have some catching up to do.

Nice place, organized, you can always find something interesting. They expanded since the last time we were in. Update: I've noticed the prices are usually better than other stores and the owner will sometimes give a discount as well. Great customer service, five stars. We will visit more often!

Celebrating over eight years in the business, it's easy to see why. Open on Mondays with a tasteful selection of mainstream and independent comics. One of the best experiences I have had in terms of customer service and comics-buying. Would definitely return next time I'm in town.

As a guy that doesn't read a lot of comics, I still think this is the best comic shop around. The guy that works there (owner?) is really easy to talk to and deal with. Sometimes I just stop in to shoot the breeze and end up leaving with a few comics. He's really good at suggesting things I find interesting.

Easily my favorite shop in town! The owner is a great guy. Back issues are always available and there are a ton to look through. By far the best deal in town on new and back issue. If I could find every back issue here I would never shop anywhere else.

I went into this store because I heard he had a large selection of Kid N Play Comics. Someone told me that he had 126 different issues. I was surprised to find out that marvel only produced nine issues of Kid N Play. The customer service is so awesome at Vortex Comics that the owner tried drawing me issue 10 while I was looking at his back issue selection. NEVER has an owner tried drawing me a comic book to make me happy.

I often stop at different comic shops when I'm out of town. As a result, I'm looking for something different than someone local would. This place seems like a good place to get your weekly books from. The guy working there (perhaps the owner) was very friendly. They appeared to have all of the newer books and a large selection of back issues. They had some action figures as well. Unfortunately, there was nothing I was really looking for. My only real complaint is the lighting. Had that dim lighting that gives comic shops a bad name.

I have spent a lot of my time and money at Vortex, because it is simply the best comic shop in the area. The owner, JR, has a breadth of knowledge of all things comic related, and knows immediately whether or not he has any particular sought after issue. Where other comic shops don't have back issues readily available for perusal, Vortex has its entire inventory on the floor, which is how I buy comics (I rarely, if ever, know what I'm looking for when I walk into a comic store). Vortex has an old-school vibe to it, and it is just the best place to get comics, and I can't recommend it enough.

Haven't stepped foot inside a comic book store in about 15 yrs. I recognized JR from previous location. It took him a short minute, but he recognized me, from 15 yrs ago. Asked me a few questions, I told him I was going to inventory my stash. He told me to bring my list and he would help me full the holes. Just like before!

This is the only place I have ever given a 5 star rating. The owner is very friendly and pretty much knows every single thing he has in stock. He is constantly replenishing his backstock and usually has what I want. If there's something special you're looking for he'll look out for you. He also knows his comics and loves to talk about them so have a chat and a laugh. There usually isn't anybody in the store so it's nice to be able to take your time and look though his massive backstock even if it's just too see. His prices are also incredibly fair. He has the craziest backstock I've never seen so many boxes filled with $1 comics. And even his more regular priced backstock is still just incredibly priced. I usually don't even try and find stuff on the internet anymore I just go here. Absolutely my favorite store.

Vortex comic book store has great selection of comics from, silver, bronze, and the modern era. The owner keeps things friendly and has what I think the fairest pricing intown. He also gives 20 % off daily and tends to throw things in after you purchase occasionally. Tons of knowledge and shares information. I’m s newbie to the whole thing, which can be overwhelming. The best old school comic shop in town . Back issues galore give it a visit and you will get lost in well organized back issues boxes for hours. Plus 20% off new books and a free pull service makes this my go too shop for everything comic book related. Plus a rotating stock of interesting video game and other fandom items can usually be found inside. You'll never know what treasures you will find untill you enter the VORTEX !
