Thank you so much to the staff at Manchester Barnes and Noble! My husband and I went today looking for specific things, and even though the store was crazy busy all of the staff was super helpful! One associate in particular, Lorraine, went above and beyond to find me a book that I couldn't find anywhere. She went through every individual aisle and checked the back for me, even pulling in 2 other people just to help me find this 1 particular book that I had been searching for. It may seem like a small thing, but her exceptional customer service made today's experience so worth the trip. Thank you Lorraine and B&N for being so awesome!

Very clean and welcoming open spaces. The children's book area is inviting and filled with many different books, for all ages of kids, to browse. The only thing I dislike, which is true in almost every bookstore I've been in, is the amount of toys right with the kids books makes shopping a little frustrating with a little one who doesn't quite yet understand that we can't buy everything and how many stuffies does one truly need?

Everything got moved around since my last visit. Difficult to understand the rhyme or reason. Had to go to checkout to ask where the craft section was a there was no salesperson on the floor. Checkout girl was helpful. Craft section was a complete and utter mess. Nothing was organized.

Huge selection of books, limited selection of videos. I noticed video prices were high. I don't know who operates the cafe. I didn't eat there so I have no opinion of thier food. Update: Valentine's Day, 2021; Brought my kids. They looked at the videos, toys and children's section. Store seems more spaced out than my last visit. Bathroom was in good shape. Facemasks required.

Always a courteous staff willing to help you out they expanded the floor space and the Manchester Barnes & Noble to give you more variety of product that they sell and everything else and it looks real good and the employees are extreme extremely nice and like I said they Call Bob and beyond when they help want to help you out grows

Always a pleasure going to Barnes & Noble. While the Salem location doesn't have as big of a manga section as the Nashua one, there are still plenty of books to choose from. Their cafe did seem to be suffering from supply chain issues but, to be fair, everyone is now-a-days. Regardless, I would never turn down a trip to Barnes & Noble!

This Barnes & Noble felt like every other major chain Barnes & Noble i have been in over the last 15 years. In its favor, it had a wider selection of sci-fi and fantasy than most I've seen, and a decently-sized graphic novel section as well. This store also had more of a focus on books than other chain "bookstores" ive been to in the last decade. I did not see an entire section devoted to Funko Pops. For example. And that is a good thing. The tea I got at the Cafe was hot and had just the right amount of milk & sugar.

A great store. They always have a fantastic selection of books to choose from and will gladly order something they do not have in stock. And a lot of people don't know that they have a wonderful toy section with many unusual toys, craft kits, games and items i don't see in other stores. My definite go to place when shopping for kids. Great place to pretend to read books while eavesdropping on people. I usually grab a few books, something from Starbucks and kinda just chill out while people watching. Staff is friendly and leaves me alone. Great place for introverts that want to go out and socialize without actually talking to anyone, 10/10 would go again.

This is a great place to take kids for an hour or 2. They have an extremely large selection of books so it's near-impossible to not find something you like. I go here every other weekend with my 4 kids so they can all get a new book and they are always excited for a Barnes & Novle trip. Not to mention the customer service is wonderful. I wanted to get Tom Segura's new book and when I arrived at the store it had been bought out (this was the day the book was released, silly me) . However, the woman I spoke with called the location in Manchester, NH and had them hold the one they had in stock for me, and I was able to get my book that day. She had also offered another option to have the book sent directly to my house at no extra cost, so that option is also available.

Well trained accommodating staff,as a chef in a restaurant...should be the highest paid. Because of corporate greed this is not the norm. Inventory should bulk out,upper management and logistics not knowing public desires. People are hungry,plus a place like Barnes and noble offers a clean safe place to explore and relax. Ok. Staff were friendly but it's way over-priced. Breakfast was not included and was $35 at the dinner. Queen beds are only full size. There are no common spaces for group visits and the fitness center is very small. It was clean and the shower was good.

I had a mommy/daughter Date here with my youngest. There is a Starbucks inside. She loved it I did as well . I forgot about BOOKS electronics have gotten the best of me so this help ground me. I signed up for a card and I get 10% on future purchases you gotta pay 25$ you do get other benefits for having the card. I just don't remember.. we had fun we had tomato soup and grill cheese and proceeded to pick out books and sketch pads after .

He searched the stacks, back room, & called other stores until he found the book I ordered! I thought customer service like this was gone! I'd never been to this branch but many others over the years. They've all changed with the advent of cafes in bookstores back when Waldenbooks and Blrders were the competition. I knew what I wanted, so no need to look around, which is good because it was very busy. My initial impression was it was okay, but I don't see myself making a special trip just to pass time or enjoy browsing.

I love books, so this is a wonderful place to search out new titles with no pressure to buy. If you like to sit for awhile, there are a few sitting areas as well. Very friendly and inviting. They have extended their toy section, which includes many educational games, Lego kits and developmental toys.

B&N is my happy place! I LOVE books, but there's so much more. My "home" B&N (Warwick, RI) has a Starbucks inside and the staff is great! There are also TONS of interesting gifts to review/purchase. Highly recommended!

I wish I got the name of the young woman that helped me because, if you were not a reader before meeting her, you would be after. Her enthusiasm and knowledge was just awesome. I came in looking for a Greek mythology book for a younger reader to be given as a gift (with one in mind that my daughter and I had found through internet search)and she politely showed me where I could find it but told me to wait because she wanted to show me a Greek mythology book, not in that section, that she "absolutely love[s]". Percy Jackson Greek Gods She told me all the reasons why she loves this book with joy and excitement. I took her advice (enjoyed a quick, humorous chapter while I was there) and it was a big hit... and the little girl is now on to more books in the series! **I never submitted this review and wish I could say the latest trip there was as awesome- I had to take away 2 stars, sadly... before I felt that 5 was not nearly enough. That young woman from my previous trip was what customer service should be and the embodiment of how everyone should feel about their job!! Seriously. And, I had another helpful employee guide me while shopping again over this last weekend that was excellent, friendly and genuinely interested in helping. What is lacking here is the service at the checkout. The young woman barely looked up, seemed bothered by my son's enthusiastic hello and just generally unfriendly and unhappy to answer any questions. There seems to be a running theme of helpful employees on the floor and the others run the registers-- a good choice, if that is a decision that needs to be made, but it definitely takes away from a pleasant experience when the person checking you out makes you feel like you are a burden on their life. But, fortunately, for now, the hardworking and enthusiastic employees on the floor (and the beautiful store filled with books!!)are making up for it and not moving me to online ordering ...yet!! :)

Love all the Barnes & Noble stores if they don't have it they can order it for pickup or delivered right to your door they're awesome and for a small fee you get the Barnes & Noble card and it saves you lots in discounts and you get free shipping right to your house you don't even have to go back to the store who can ask for anything more. Bright, cheery and staffed by people who clearly love reading. I am always curious what is new in the store, and spend my first few minutes in there at the customer service desk finding out. They are always patient and helpful. Rather sad they don't do reading electronics any more, but there is nothing like the smell, feel and weight of a book.

A great place to go any day of the week, be it a rainy day, cold day or a hot day, there's usually some place for everyone to sit. And if they'd want to have some cocoa and piece of cake or pie while reading a magazine, or a long awaited first edition, N.Y. Best Seller; everything is here for you to relax and spend an hour or two or the day with your children or family and friends. There's even a children's area for your little ones to immerse themselves in a whole bunch of fun!

It's great to have a local bookstore to browse and shop for new books. I'm not a fan of their policy which offers separate pricing for online and in-store. If you're a B&N member, they will price match the online prices... only if you ask them. Some of the staff are true bibliophiles and happily offer advice when I've been on the fence about a certain book or looking for a new book to read. Be sure to buy local, even if the pricing is slightly higher than on online only retailer.

We are card carrying members! We always get excited to go to Barnes and Noble. We always come out with a new book right for each one of us. The kids section is great and you feel like you are in a library. They have an awesome help desk person who helps us find books often. We get snacks and hot cocoa at the cafe. It's a nice cozy place to hang out with your kids, small ones or teens!

This Barnes and Noble isn't too different from the others all around the county. The stock is decent but the amount of books is shrinking compared to board games, puzzles (and even some fitness trackers). On the plus side the staff is always helpful and willing to order what they don't have in stock. Be prepared for crowds though since the parking lot is small and it always seems to be busy.

They have a decent selection in many genre the music and movies are over priced. You can find em cheaper but they have it if you want to it they can order it as well. The Starbucks is run by unfriendly staff. I've been behind the counters working there it's not as clean as it appears. I would never buy their frozen baked goods but I love the coffee. The bookstore employees are more friendly.

I love Barnes & Noble. Every time I see some rumor about the company shutting down, I cry a little inside. There's something great about browsing a book store and relaxing in the cafe. The kids area is great as well and my daughter loves browsing the books here. I've found that the membership is well worth it. Staff here is always friendly and helpful.

Found some really awesome Harry Potter stuff that I'll never be able to afford, and ended up buying a book of cartoons written by The Oatmeal. I walk up and down the rows of books and I'm swept away.. I know it's a chain and that all the stores are cookie cutter but that's what makes it so easy to shop in.

One of the best places to buy Manga, I collect Manga and this place has a huge selection of it! Also there Art book section is big as well! Great quiet atmosphere and employees don't bug you about sales! Which is always nice!

It's Barnes & Noble - what more do I need to say? I love this place. This location is great, I was in on Saturday and it was pretty busy but everyone was smiling and friendly, no one seemed rushed or stressed. I was helped by 3 different employees and each one of them was wonderful. This is my go-to bookstore... I could spend hours, even days just poking around this store! Even better, they have way more than just books. Looking for a CD? They have them. Want to find stocking or easter basket stuffers? They have those too. Looking for a tablet? Come here, they got 'em! Want to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee or a muffin/pastry and read for awhile, or even just people-watch? There's no better place than Barnes & Noble for whatever you're looking for.

The range of books, depending on genre, is adequate to lacking. Many pop culture gifts, including Ghibli items. High on the price range. Small music and movies area. Service in cafe was polite but forgetful. Otherwise a quiet and pleasant visit. It is sad to see bookstores slowly waste away, like libraries are, due to the digital age.

I love this store .. Great selection of books with a great children's area, a lovely selection of gift items, cds, dvds.. and happily vinyl record albums (though sadly, not much of a selection) and a few record players.. Went in looking for several magazines.. they used to have British magazines, Indigenous Americans, and a few others.. I was disappointed that I couldn't find what I went in for and nobody was around to ask for assistance. The café area is very nice, great service and very relaxing.. Cheesecake didn't taste all that fresh, but the Italian cream torte was amazing! It's a great relaxing place.. could literally stay there for hours..

Unlike other bookstores in the Central area. B&N usually has the book(s) that I want in house. Also if I order a certain book I get it faster. Customer service is great. If that person doesn't have the answer they will find another person that does. They may be a big box stores but I am happy to shop there.

Still my favorite bookstore. Anywhere. Ever. Even if you never get past the bargain books aisle. Great selection of books for grandchildren. I can never go in without finding something, or many somethings, I have to read right now. I am not sure about the debate that traditional books are going the way of dinosaurs, but I will concede I have moved from newspapers to online for my news, but books? I still love holding a real book. And for that pleasure, it is Barnes & Noble.

The selection is okay. For a place with so many books, it always amazes me that I can never find what I'm looking for when I have a specific book (or even author!) in mind. It's not like I'm typically looking for anything really obscure either. Prices are always very high. I haven't been in a Barnes & Noble for at least seven years, but after moving to Manchester from AZ, I figured I'd stop in and grab a book. Ohmygosh, it was a mistake to think I could go in there and not get at least two books! I ended up wanting to get a lot more than I got... They have a huge selection of books, including manga, comics, art supplies, coloring books, and so much more! I'm not kidding here, there's a ridiculous amount of awesome (and that's not just in my opinion) books here. I guess after seven years of scrounging for books in used bookstores (if that, up on the White Mountains of AZ there isn't much but Walmart for shopping) a specialized store like this seems bigger with more diverse books than anything I've seen recently. Also, the staff are awesome- helpful and great salesmen and women. I talked to a guy at the cash register who *almost* made me want to buy their subscription service. He was very persuasive, but I knew that if what he was saying was true, and it really made me money and not the store, then they wouldn't have much of a reason to stay in business, would they? Not at all. Anyway, it is really a great store, great people, and judging from their website they have events every month for the kids, too. Just an overall great place to be. ;)

Was very impressed with this brick and mortar bookstore in these Amazonian times. It seems a little silly to quote a review for a Barnes and Noble, but I was struck by how they have managed to adapt to keep up with the times. While you have what sometimes seems like infinite selection on the internet, that selection often leads to choice paralysis and endless sifting through junk. Barnes and Noble offers quote a wide selection, but seemingly curated for quality. Very happy with the books we chose. Also, there is a toys and games section that makes up about a third of the store, also well stocked but mindfully chosen so that we could go back time and time again and always find something fun and interesting to check out. If you haven't stepped foot in a Barnes and Noble recently, I recommend it as a way to rediscover an old favorite, with a modern twist.
