A really comfy comic book store in the valley with pretty solid prices! The cashier is really knowledgeable about her stuff and eager to talk about the stock, so don't feel hesitant to be curious or share your passion! If you're in the valley, it's a definite landmark store, plus they got some adorable live in cats!

Galaxy of Comics is a cool comic books, toys, manga, Funko Pops, and everything pop culture one-stop shop in Van Nuys, California! The staff are very welcoming and definitely treat their customer as VIPs. From browsing the store (where they will assist you with their superb pop culture knowledge), playing their cool coin-op arcade games, and giving excellent deals with their wide array of comic books. The best part of the store is their Comic Book Back Issue shelf, wonderfully arranged alphabetically where you can easily navigate thousands of comic books with ease (make sure to pull the drawers, the fun of navigating still expands within it!). Amazing shop! If you have allergies to cats make sure to check since there are cats! Overall the girl who helped me she was so nice and the cats were amazing and cute! Wonderful place with wonderful comics. The employees are very kind (and great salespeople too..) As long as you come in here with an open mind, ready to try out new comics, you will find many new, exciting series to check out. Galaxy of Comics is the best comic book store with the best staff - nothing compares! The people here will take the time to get to know your tastes and accurately recommend something that you'll like - I've never gotten an off-base rec, and I wasn't even a huge comic book reader to begin with! It's incredible to have people who share my values in my community and encourage the people to read! Also, there are CATS!!! 10/10 this is the only shop I frequent, now.

Since the expansion I am much more impressed. They have expanded everything, wall books, case books, back issue stock..I mean everything! The prices are as they are. My personal favorite additions are the video games (so cool playing the old quarter cabinets again!) and the patrolling cats! Obviously I am a cat lover. A much more fun store than the years past. Parking is the only other issue I can think of. I definitely recommend going here.

Great store with the nicest people! Came in and got two offers to help me find what I was looking for. And I did! There's a nice atmosphere here created by people who love what they do and love meeting others with the same interests. I was on vacation in LA at my time of visit, but this made me want to stay here and apply for a job in the store! Also I told the man at the checkout I was on vacation and he gave me a bunch of awesome, free store merch! If I'm ever in LA again I'll make sure to come back here!!!

Cool comic shop! Came in for Free Comic Book Day but ended up getting some new and old comics too (was always curious about Sandman)! The folks inside kept their cool despite the hustle and bustle, so you know they're good! Also some arcade machines were there; Marvel vs Capcom and That X-Men Arcade game I think, but neither had co-op running, sadly. Still, it's nice to see.

The staff and the owner are all incredibly friendly and knowledgeable fans of comics. My childhood best friend and I started shopping here when the store opened over 12 years ago. When my friend passed away the owner gave me his final pull bag free of charge. I cannot express the kindness that the owner gives to his customers and the community in general. You will never find a better place to spend your money.

Pretty good store. Nice layout. Great customer service. Clean and well organized. Nice variety or current runs, back issues, trades, funko pops, keys and statues. One of the best kid comic selection, I've seen in awhile. They also have a good selection of action figures and short boxes with comic art. Only draw back is the location. (limited small plaza parking and next to a tattoo shop, that occasionally has people hanging out in the front.) Nothing against tats or parlor clientele, but 6-8 dudes talking "shop" outside the store, does make you question what you're child's going to hear in the 10 seconds they're in ear shot lol. But again, I like this store and would definitely drive out of my way to go back again.

One of the coolest shops I have been to. Great customer service and a large variety of books that touch on subjects that other book stores are afraid to get involved with. Do yourself a favor, take the kids, a significant other or your cat/dog and get lost at this shop. You will find that book that you didn’t know you were looking for. Anyone that has anything negative to say, has clearly never been here.

It's a small shop in terms of space but it's got a great selection of comics and toys and other collectibles. The owner is a really nice guy, if he doesn't have what you're looking for he's happy to order it for you. It's just goy such a friendly and cozy environment that it's hard to walk out of the store without a smile. He's also got cats in store that are utterly precious (that you can pet and chill with too).

Reason for visiting: check out some Silver Age issues for my Justice League collection Date/time of visit: Saturday afternoon, ~1:00 PM Parking: in the lot shared with other businesses. Parking lot is tight and seems to be full all the time. There's parking on the street too, probably preferable than parking in the lot. Party size: 2 Environment/ambience: cool spot. TV on with shows/movies playing. Couple video game machines (weren't working/on at the time). They restrict it to 5 people at a time so there can be a short wait to get in (~5-10 mins). There's different sections inside: kids section, back issues in the middle, newer stuff on the shelves/walls, funkos, etc. Service: was good. They are friendly peeps. Food: n/a Cost: nothing outrageous, seem to be in line with other stores. Picked up 2 Silver Age issues, $8/each, ~good grade

Definitely one of my favorite comic book stores in LA. The store has always been welcoming, and the owner & other patrons are friendly. In fact they'll often pull you in to one of their rousing discussions on anything from politics to pop culture. The owner does a great job creating real community in an era where too many people prefer virtual/online interactions & in a region where the transience of people combined with the physical distance between spots can make community spirit almost impossible. So kudos to Galaxy of Comics for creating a bright spot in the valley & thanks for sharing your 2 amazing cats with us, their little happy meows make my day!

The GOC (Galaxy of Comics) have been on the corner of Saticoy and Louise for a little over 10 years now. I am excited that they expanded the shop. And it's always nice to visit Pugsly ☺

no idea why there are bad reviews, i went there today had a great collection, all issues were in flawless condition and has this awesome table in the back full of 1 dollar issues or 5 dollar variant issues. the guy is pretty nice and isn't nosy or annoying at all, however if you need anything or have any questions he's very knowledgeable.

Great place to come in and chat if you're passionate about just about anything. The staff is intelligent and diverse. They offer drawing classes, Soul Geek events, and Girls Night events among other things. Great seasonal sales too.

I went to galaxy of comics looking for Batman the long Halloween and when they had it I was excited but when I went there I felt so comfortable and the women who helped me was super respectful and really nice and they had a really cute cat and I had a really engaging conversation and it was a amazing experience and I really enjoy this place

Galaxy of Comics is a great comic shop. Its small but packed to the rafters with a great selection of comics from big publishers but also a wide selection of great indie comics. They also have a good selection of graphic novels, statues, funkos, and the like. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the store has lots of fun events. Very friendly people and helped with recommedtions for the free comics and ones I wanted to buy. There was a limited on the free comics per person I didn't know I kind of felt embressed because the limit is 8 and if you buy certain volumes of comics there 15% -20% off for today on free comic book day . And there was food truck and cook cooking up some good food like BBQ and tacos and a prize wheel to see if you can win anything and I won myself a pop figure I just got lucky and the dontaions help with funding intipendet comic book shops so go check them out it was awesome especially the sales they have going on today on free comic book day and they have all new Star Wars comics on Star Wars day.

Where I live there’s 3 comic shops near by, which is very rare for a fan. But Galaxy of Comics is BY FAR the best experience and place I’ve ever shopped from. Not just locally, but EVERY comic book shop I ever stepped in. The employees are super friendly and helpful. And the variety of things they have is amazing. I have little kids who I am trying to get into a comics and they have a section specifically for kids. Overall I really love this place and trying to become a regular.
