Reviews of The Writer's Block
Patti Bebien-Aronoff
Amazing place! I was finally able to make it to The Writer’s Block and it definitely exceeded all my expectations. What a peaceful place with not just a very good book selection for all ages but also tons of interesting art and gifts! And very tasty muffins and coffee.
It will become my to go place every time I am in Vegas.
I highly recommend it!

This was a super cute bookstore! It was decorated with a lot of cute fake birds and was just small and quiet. There is also a coffee shop inside, and the dark chocolate latte I got was very good. So was the snickerdoodle cookie! Warm and fresh tasting. My only complaint here was just a little lack of selection. And there was a really cute rabbit in a cage but he seemed awfully....sad. His cage seemed way too small.
Natasha Roberts
Very cute and unique bookstore. Has a great selection of small items that would make great gifts. I wish it had more stationary items and places to sit while browsing. I was looking for a cookbook and would have loved the opportunity to look through a few. But, overall a nice spot.

The Writer's Block is a hip cozy bookstore and coffee shop with a whacky theme of a bird sanctuary throughout in the downtown Arts District of Las Vegas. It's a long circuitous hallway that winds you through all of the various sections.
I loved the space. It's got a great vibe and it's obviously popular with many people weaving their way through its independent areas.
The coffee area at the front serves up delicious java creations.
The establishment had a rewards and points system. I ordered books and signed up. Then went around to get coffee and found out my entire drink order was free.
Love this space so much.

Located in what is known as Las Vegas’s “Arts District,” this cool bookstore/coffee shop is the epitome of cozy. It’s virtual bird sanctuary theme is woven into every nook and corner. The shelves are well organized and there is plenty of elbow room to browse. Aside from books there are other items available such as gift items, drawing tools, candles and more. Highly recommend. (Just make sure you lock yourself car…the surrounding area is a bit sketchy.)

Hands down the most unique and fun bookstore I've been to! Love the bird theme and decor throughout, it was like a scavenger hunt! Lots of books of all genres, there's a good chance they'll have whatever you're looking for. The cafe is also very good, Chai tea and croissants are delightful! The book worm dioramas are hilarious!

This was absolutely my favorite stop in Vegas. I encourage anyone looking for a small break from the chaos to rest and refresh in this bookshop/artificial bird sanctuary that is full of tiny wonderful details and surprises.
While there, why not adopt a new friend? Each little bird has a name and personal "auto'bird'ography".
Books, birds, and beverages. What more do you need?
Paulyanna Nelson
Eccentric, but wonderfully curated independent bookstore nestled somewhat at the tail end of the Strip. Houses a plethora of amazing reads and the staff members are so lovely and offered great recommendations. Great place to visit if you’re looking for something to do other than gamble in Vegas!

What a fantastic and charming little gem. My friend and I were both visiting from out of state and are so happy we were able to pop in to The Writer's Block while we were in town! It is a cute and quirky little coffee shop/book store and the staff is very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back next time we're in town!
Jimmy Johnson
Quiet spot for coffee, snacks and other beverages. Chill music and many books to choose from. Plenty of windows means plenty of light for reading in a quiet laid back atmosphere
Dono Zhyn
Unique book store and coffee. The sections are themed and narrow as if you were actually in the bindings of a book. Seating is available in the cafe area with more outdoors.
Linda
Super super cool bookstore! All the little rooms inside are great and the winding hallways are awesome! I love it and I will be back again!
Miracle Johnson
Gorgeous bookstore and cafe! Super fun experience walking through the store, the displays we're all fun to see too, especially the worms under the bookshelves!
linda tical
One of my fav bookstores in the world, a truly magical book wonderland with a cute little cafe in the front and so much more in the back including a little rabbit and fountain pens 🖋️ 🐇💓 …

Do you read??? Do you love books??
Then GET YE TO THE WRITER'S BLOCK, ASAP!
As someone who writes (um, writes a lot), I was intimidated by the name. "Writer's Block" is a term for when the ideas just aren't coming and the blank page (screen) stares back at you, mockingly.
But this Writer's Block means a "building block" or a city block. This coffeeshop / bookstore is immensely creative and photogenic. It is an "artifical bird sanctuary" (for artificial birds!)
They have 20,000 or so books here. Real books made with paper. Books you want to read, have read, want the whole world to read.
The photos I took don't do this place justice. Come see for yourself.
I had a matcha latte with oatmilk and lavender. Delicious
[Have you been to The Strand in NYC? Similar vibe. Good people.]
[Do you hear "birds" and think of Portlandia "Put A Bird On It"? I'm too shy to post the link here! Let's just say The Writer's Block is everything that Portlandia store wishes it was!!]

This bookstore is now one of my favorite places anywhere. The ambience, decor, and layout were mesmerizing! Walking through there was like walking in a beautiful park and an art gallery at the same time. We were able to chat with the co-owner and he was delightful! I could literally spend hours here looking around, poring over the books and the perfect mix of gifts and non-book items they stock. They even have a pet bunny in the shop, not to mention a coffee bar and tables up front and outside. I love it and I WILL be back. Added bonus: we always love supporting gay-owned and minority-owned businesses.
Kj O
Browsing this bookstore is like stepping into your favorite book! Trees and woodland creatures surround shelves that are filled with a beautifully curated selection of books. There is a small cafe in front of the shop as well...I recommend getting a blueberry London fog tea and a French toast bagel!
Anastacia Escovar
This place makes my soul happy. The staff are friendly. There is so much to see. Writers Block is cozy and welcoming. They have a cute bunny chillin ❤️ I could come here every day, if you’re looking for a local bookstore to support, this is the one. Wonderful selection of books, great soft music in the background, and a lil cafe with a seating area indoor and outdoor. There is Parking out in front and in the back.
Jade Parks
I love this place so much! As a book lover myself I just love how the books are organized and how the place is decorated. The have I think the entire series of A short introduction. I love how the food and drinks taste they are always so good and I definitely recommend going here to get a sneak peak into books and a greater cup of coffee. Or tea if you prefer.
Shayne Senn
Had an amazing time friendly atmosphere. Place was amazing it was like a wonderland of 📚 books. The people were kind and quick to help with information about their book selections. Definitely would recommend again. Brookline Ma aka Boston memory lane. Next time I'm around have to try that cafe place smelled amazing walking in didn't want to leave. Your bookstore rocks. Thank you all!

Visiting from Greece, I had googled "bookstores in Vegas" before I left and the moment the Writer's Block came up, I knew I had to visit it. Undoubtedly, the most beautiful bookstore in Vegas!
Elizabeth “Elizgangsta”
Super cute book store and has lots of book clubs and creative writing for kids!! This is going to be our new fave book store.
Jennifer Ubinas
This is such an amazing book café! The atmosphere is relaxing, and the design/decor flows well and gives it a unique feeling to browsing through books! I cannot comment on the coffee though, as I came in close to closing time and cannot drink caffeine too late. Hopefully sometime I can make an update with that!
Joseph Gray
Really neat spot with above average coffee. I’d put this in the top three coffee places I’ve visited in vegas. Probably number one for how unique it is with a bookstore attached to it.
I’d say the only thing I wish was different is that the seating area of the coffee shop is such a different vibe than the book store. I want to feel like I’m sipping coffee in a book store rather than adjacent to one.
Travellight (Jordan Taylor)
Wow. This is like stepping into Narnia.
As an avid reader and book lover, I have been to lots of bookstores all over the world. This is probably the best. It’s absolutely magical and I instantly fell in love with it.
The selection is excellent, remarkable for being able to offer a wide selection while also managing to include an admirably meager selection of any bad books - not an easy feat to pull off.
Whoever has designed and decorated the store deserves some sort of award. Besides just the best bookstore design I have seen, this has to be some of the best anywhere. The attention to detail and lovely little things everywhere, the beautiful layout, all makes you want to wander around in here for hours.
Clearly, a book lover put some serious love and magic into this place and it really shows.
Can it get better? Yes, because there is also a coffee shop area at the front of the bookstore, which serves delicious espresso, and you can sit and read. It gets crowded quickly though (for good reason). They even have a bookshop rabbit!
Nursefoodie threesixty
Great bookshop and coffee place. The decor makes the books a lot more interesting.
Carlos Babcock
Absolutely one of the most enchanting bookstores I have visited in quite a long time. The space is beautiful, highlighting both of my favorite pastimes; books and pens/stationery.
There is a full coffee shop as well with seating inside and out. You can shop in the store or order online and pick-up in store.
Greg Johnson
Always a great shopping experience. Great selection for a small store (including quite a few smaller runs of obscure titles, surprisingly!), the staff is quite friendly and accommodating, and the space, while small, is cozy and immersive. Less of a retail experience, and more of a book lover's utopia. Onsite cafe is quite a nice perk as well!
cecelia dimino
I’ll change my rating to 5 stars once Writer’s Block becomes more eco-conscious and Earth friendly. It’s November in Vegas and they’re still blasting the AC all day like there isn’t a climate crisis. Also, they don’t offer glassware, instead serving with paper coffee cups. These aren’t recyclable and I’m not sure I saw a recycling bin anyway. Otherwise, very friendly staff, cool book shop, and nice cafe.
Jake Grubman
Without exaggeration, The Writer's Block has among the very best and most expansive fiction sections of any independent shop I've ever visited.
On a trip with friends in August, I had to work for a few hours (and struggled to picture a good coffee shop for working on the Strip -- though maybe that exists?). The Writer's Block looked like a good option, with its combination cafe and bookstore -- maybe akin to Kramerbooks in D.C. -- and I wound up working there for several hours. (There's wifi.)
First: Nice staff, great smoothies, really good menu in general. I didn't try anything else, but it all looked good -- several other people stopped in while I was there, and nobody looked repulsed by their food and drink choices. And it's well lit and generally nice for typing (or, ya know, reading) for a good while.
After I finished my work, I took a look around the bookstore part, which is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside (or even from the cafe area). Really good comic book selection for a shop of this size, but what jumped out to me was the tremendous fiction section: Because I'm a fickle idiot, I judge completely on whether a shop caters to my totally arbitrary and fleeting tastes, and this place truly had it all. Case(s) in point: Not every small shop carries a lot of work by Percival Everett, and The Writer's Block had both his more prominent recent work and a bunch of stuff from his back catalog. Same goes for Krasznahorkai and a host of other New Directions writers. I go to a lot of bookshops, and this place had the best selection of smaller press literature, as far as I can remember.
Plus, there's a pet rabbit! And they also sell various crafts (local and not) in nicely curated display cases; I picked up a crab-boil Christmas ornament for a friend.
I hope to come back on my next trip out there!
My pick: "The Melancholy of Resistance" by Laszlo Krasznahorkai.
Chelsey Pinto
Amazing. So beautiful inside, with a warm, inviting, dreamy atmosphere. The staff was so kind and friendly, and my iced latte with a hazelnut pastry was delicious! Would love to come back next time I visit LV 💜 …
Zuly Nelson
I loved it! I'm not a writer but if I was I imagine I would come here to get inspired! The coffee is delicious! The staff really nice and the bookstore is perfect!!!!!! Will be back!
Michael Magerkurth
A must Experience, and very nice vibe place- has a Chai Latte- YUMMMMM/very well made, then shopped around to find a great recommended reading pleasure. This place is near the Old Town area of Vegas/Chapels- to get married- really recommend it for a great hour or two break from the casinos/rush of the typical Vegas touristic nonsense .....The choices for books, very solid- the Chai....probably- though we didn't try that, all looked fantastic.
Jennifer Kilkenny
Went with my husband and immediately fell in love with the place. A wonderful selection of books with amazing ambiance. The decor is truly magical, and I can't wait to go back and soak it up.
The staff are wonderful. Helpful and very well informed. You can tell they love books and know their stuff.
Mari Hend
Been here several times, and i love the store and the employees are always helpful, but I never want to stick around. They got the most uncomfortable chairs, you dont want to stay and study w friends becuz of a lack of outlets and decent seating. Otherwise an great spot w good vibes.
billie bakhshi
What a nice book shop! And Drew is just a doll! Great coffee, tea and pastries. And your office spaces are just perfectly curated. Love, love, love!
Miya Bradley
Cute little coffee shop and book store. I'd love to spend more time here. Unfortunately, their espresso machine was down but the people working were doing their best to service customers and fix the machine
Evelyn Connors
I love this bookstore! They just reopened at a new location, and it's adorable and has a great little cafe. Their book selection is amazing, and if they don't have what you want they'll order it. The owners are super knowledgeable and make great suggestions, and their selection of fun gifts and little knick-knacks are carefully curated and on-trend. This Writers' Block is a treasure!
Niko Mendoza (Niko)
Beautiful bookstore. You can order online and pickup from a box up front. They have a good variety in stock but you can also special order.
Communications via text and email are timely and accurate. The coffee shop is awesome. Support your local bookstore!
Sam Horcasitas
Very cool setup inside, it’s fun to walk around in. I love how it smells and the music is always nice. Lots of small and interesting things for sale as well as books

Love, Love, Love
Great gifts, amazingly kind service. Oh! and the coffee and pastries are good too; We all know we go to cute Café s to be seen;)
Cety T
It had variety of beautiful and unique decorations, I felt welcomed being surrounded by books. They have drinks like coffee, smoothies, etc. Great place in Downtown Las Vegas.
Kelly Dye
This little hidden gem!! Great coffee, great customer service... A cute little space.. just down the road from the famous gold and silver pawn shop.
They have a great variety of genres and a fun atmosphere.
Trevor Jimmy
The shop is so small, but full of so many knicks and knacks! They have a plethora of genres and its organised so neatly. At the entrance there is a book shop that is full of tools (possibly for restoring or fixing books, not too sure.) The ceiling is full of flocks of small birds too! When I came by, they also have a rabbit as a store pet. This is such a perfect spot for anyone looking for some local shops to check out, and to escape the crowded Fremont Street experience area. Highly recommend.

To give context, I was in Vegas for a work convention. Got a day to myself and wanted to find a bookstore/cafe beyond the average B&N sort. Something I could get selections from specific topics in abundance. i.e. Design, Social Sciences, etc. Last bookstore I visited that unique was in April in London at Libreria (Second Home).
The reviews I found talked of WB's selection of children's books haha, but did mention it was unique in other areas.
WB is located in downtown Vegas which is a pretty rundown area. WB on the other hand is subtle, new and a cafe/bookstore attached to a living space called the Lucy. It's decorative interior plus selection are a breath of fresh air to most bookstores. At first glance the book areas remind you of a lot of used bookstores, but with more of an organized touch.
They have a nice covered area for those wishing to enjoying the weather, rail to lock bicycles etc. Once you're inside there's a small buy cozy cafe. Very welcoming and personable staff.
The actual bookstore area is well-sorted, alphabetical and based on a handful of topics i.e. Design/Architecture, Photography, Biographies, Social Sciences, etc. Each area has a small table with related trinkets, mini-journals, books and more on it. For example in the cooking section, they had a number of 10-20 page books covering recipes, care and more for small ingredients. i.e. Cucumbers, Eggs, Onions, etc. Alongside, recipe journals, pocket notebooks, and topical recipe books.
Overall very pleasant, interesting place to not be overwhelmed by too many choices. But still have enough to find and expand. One area that confused me at first, but definitely was interesting is they have mini offices throughout that I can only assume are decorated based off the employee's interests. The subtlety reminds me a lot of Wes Anderson but more varied. Also liked that they carried Taschen books, as they cover a lot of design areas albeit in German-language only.
Picked up mini-recipe book on care/cooking avocados, book on the history/coverage of famous Sign Painters, History of American Menu Design, and a tartan pocket notebook.
Katie “FriendaSaurus Flex” Cole
Great bookstore. Fun unique books and accessories and awesome coffee.
Rebecca Brinkman
Very cute and unusual bookstore! Great book selections and quiet spaces to read 😍 …
Traveling Duncans
Very unique, and quiet, a perfect place to buy a new book and sit for a fresh cup of hot coffee or tea and there is even a bunny
Penny Wise
Books are expensive but wide ranging. Coffee is to die for and the vibe is very comfortable.
Ashley Heim
Adorable! Books for all tastes and ages. 10/10 would recommend
Ashanti McGee
One of (if not the only) independent new bookstores in Las Vegas. Beautiful stationary and unique gifts especially for the inquisitive. Whatever books you don't see can usually be ordered. Great workshops and book readings. Absolutely magical.
Jared R Delo
A lovely coffee shop, bookstore, and artificial bird sanctuary - a perfect spot. Felt at home immediately.
Monique Renee
Incredible place. The coffee was delicious, and the book store was like walking into another world. Definitely one of my new favorite places.
Richard Metzler
Incredible bookstore! Not be missed, beautifully curated and friendly staff along with so many interesting and outré distractions.
Matthew Chavez
I love to bike share in downtown Las Vegas and I decided to stop by the Writer's Block to take a break and grab a coffee. This is a really beautiful and newly constructed space. Everyone on staff is positively friendly and knowledgeable! The bookstore is well-stocked with new books of every kind. I really enjoyed my time here and plan to visit again in the future!
Nancy Love
So impressive! Please support this place. Great atmosphere and incredible selection. Very comfortable place to hang out and read sipping your coffee.
Charles Grosh (Angry Gorilla)
Awesome little place located in Downtown Las Vegas. Bird sanctuary, caged rabbit, and lots of cool books for sale. Grab a coffee or tea and relax. I'll be back real soon. Thanks!

If you wanna enjoy your coffee in a very artistic place come here. It’s totally different from everything else in Vegas. A must-see for tourists.
Terri Galura-Chiong
The only independent book store in Las Vegas, The Writer's Block is the place to get your books. Love the new location and the staff is stellar. Support local here. There's also a coffee area in the front of the store. Check the website for events that happen often, including book clubs and book signings.
kyle harris
Great coffee as well as a wide variety of different books. Highly recommend
Igor Naverniouk
Very pretty inside. A perfect place to pick up some gifts for the kids on the your last day of your Vegas trip.
Raquel Todd
The cutest book store located in the downtown area of Las Vegas with an attached coffee shop that serves delicious drinks.
John Allen
A superb selection of books, whimsical decor, and a bookstore rabbit, make this one of the coolest bookstores anywhere. Go and visit so this place will stay in business for many years to come.
Sean Balady
A really nice book store with an interesting interior. Maps, birds, curio cabinets litter every corner amongst a well organized book selection. They have many modern books and recently published novels, as well as a few more obscure titles. Good news of you can't find it, they will order it for you. Bonus:. Coffee shop inside the store!
GINA Alessandrini
Adorable. If you're wanting to support a local bookstore this is your place. Only thing I would like is if they had comfortable seating placed throughout the store to sort of sit and read a while. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Kim Baker
CUTE bookstore with a small cafe. Only seating is in cafe and outside but buy a coffee and enjoy a new book.
Annie Bhatnagar
So happy to have a cute, eclectic little bookstore in our downtown. Writer's Block surrounds patrons with a whimsical decor as they browse through countless titles. While it's probably not the biggest bookstore in town, there are some unique titles and a special section for books about Nevada written by Nevadans which I appreciated. My only complaint would be that there wasn't any seating or cozy corners to sit in and preview a book before buying. Though I did not get to check it out, there is a nice little cafe where you could enjoy a cup of coffee while you read your newly purchased book.
keri brauner
Great coffee and atmosphere. Lovely little bookstore and they had really cool tarot cards!
B F
This place is awesome! A little pricey, but great atmosphere. The staff is always top-notch, too.
Alco Robinson
I stumbled across this bookstore when I was looking for a black-owned bookstore. This is the only independent bookstore I found. When I walked into The Writer's Block, I was immediately greeted. I loved the way the books were setup in the bookstore and the coffee shop was warm and inviting. There were a few people working and reading in there and I can completely understand why. This space feels like you're at home. I could not find my book on my own, but the staff was friendly and quick to help me. I loved my experience here and I will definitely return.
Mickey Patchin
This place is hounstly magical. It felt like Narnia. At frist its a cool looking cafe (with a freaking bird cage at the front) then its a beautiful book store with so many environments of books and toy birds. I talked to a few people who were regulars and they were so nice. The staff were sweet and accommodating. We got some stuff from the cafe (a motcha latte and a Spanish crossiant) and they were really good. Would live there if I could
Ricky B
I can be here the whole day! They have friendly staff, relaxing music, interesting environment, and great books.
Ana Khatchiperadze
🤩🤩 must see place. If you are visiting Las Vegas and you are not a very "Casino type" person, you have to go to the art district. And esp in this book store/cafe …
Molly Neville
Love Love all the green 😍. A bookstore that makes you feel like you're in a magical forest …
Steven Moya
Thank goodness there is still a local book store in Las Vegas. Great selection.
Tenitta Franklin
One of the coolest book store sandwich shop place of serenity I can't even explain it super cool have to go back
Dan Julien
Great bookstore and coffee shop. A lot bigger than it looks from outside.
Rj Long
Been wanting to go here since I read about it in Vegas weekly a couple of years ago. Never had the chance to check out their old location but I must admit that this new one is a gem. There is a huge collection of literature here and the cafe they have is really good. You'll find yourself strolling along through the aisles looking at everything and still miss quite a bit from books, decor, and little knickknacks around. I walked right past the rabbit that they have there and didn't notice because I was taking it all in. The prices are awesome as well for everything that they have for sell. So there is no reason for a bookworm not to check out this place and support this small business. They are friendly and helpful, check it out.
michael karn
I travel for work and one of the saving graces of the road is finding new bookstores. Of all the places I’ve found throughout the country the Writer’s Block is one of the very best, and possibly my most favorite. They have an excellent and varied selection and a well organized floor plan, musts for any good bookstore. But what makes this such a wonderful place is the quiet calm atmosphere and obvious care the people that work there take in the store. The Writer’s Block is a literal oasis in the middle of the desert, I can’t recommend it highly enough
S M
I purchased a few book here and my experience was wonderful. The atmosphere was inviting and the staff were very knowledgeable
Nancy ward
Since i love to read and was looking for a book store, after reading all the positive reviews i decided to give writers block a try.. Well its not that bad of a book store but i dont quite understand all the glowing reviews. The store is small but cozy the selection in my opinon was not too great, the store looks and smells like a used book store and some of the books looked used as well althought they all have new book pricing. All in all its not a bad little shop of books but if you are a fantasy lover like me you might want to try another book store.
Ty W
Great independent bookstore with small coffee bar and sitting area. I love to call ahead and have the books I want pulled and waiting for me. If the book isn't in stock they will gladly order it for you. Want to give a great gift to a local? Give them a gift certificate to The Writer's Block. I was extremely happy to receive one back when they were still at the original location. This location has better parking options.
HippieSoul Child
I love this bookstore. It’s cozy, quiet, and has many great books and other great products. I was in there for about an hour and a half and couldn’t choose what book to get, so I bought both, lol. The staff was tremendous and resourceful. I will be back again soon.
Katherine Bach
What a fun bookstore! We visited in November and it was the coolest little bookstore we've been too. Very unique layout and well decorated, and the selection of books was great! A lot of things you can't find at Barnes and noble. We also got two of the seasonal chai lattes and a pastry with tomato and olive tampenade, both of which were delicious!
Shannon Lewis
A lovely independent bookstore that was such a delight to encounter in Las Vegas! Highly recommend and they have such an interesting group of book clubs you won't be able to resist finding one if you are local!
John Benedict
The Writer's Block is a very well organized, and very well stocked bookstore. Their Web store is impressive. Their coffee shop was enjoyable. The prices were doable. Customer service was very well managed. Thank you for providing a venue that exceeded our expectations.
Ken Martin
Just discovered this remarkable book store and will be making it a point to stop by whenever we are in the area!
John Mark Simmons
Good selection of coffee drinks and other things at the cafe. Super cute book store with a nice variety of titles. Chill vibe.
Nicole kuntz
I love this place. It's such a cute bookstore and just has good vibes in general. They have a wide range of book genres and other items like stationary, bookmarks, and small home decor pieces. There's a little coffee shop and a sweet rabbit that lives at the store. They also have a rewards program where you can earn money towards future purchases in the book store and coffee shop. There is usually plenty of street parking and various literary events taking place. It's a short drive from the other shops and restaurants in the downtown area, so I always stop here when I'm in the area.
Baz T
My favourite bookstore in the world. I worked in the book industry for 14 years and I always visit bookshops when I travel, but this store had just such a fantastic selection of books! I felt like I was in a truly curated bookshop, where all the staff knew books and had carefully selected to have a broad range. The store is beautiful as well, and love having a coffee shop inside, but the selection of books is what really did it for me. I usually recognize 50% or more of the books I find in stores (up to 90% in chain stores), and this store was full of surprises.
Melissa Westbrook
Always a great day when you can spend it browsing at this bookstore. The staff is friendly and seems to know exactly where everything is. Huge selection of new fiction.
Khais Raihan
the most simple yet amazing classic store downtown las vegas. went there with friends to find a book, and end-up surprised with the book collection, the ambience, and of course, the secret chamber right at the back of the store which is a small workshop to write and print beginner-books; perfect place for book-lovers and writers..
Blake Thomas
Great coffee, solid title curation. Great shop!
Grace Landaw
This is the most magical bookstore I have ever been in. Forget musty--this is a must visit place in Vegas. You can browse under twinkly lights and pose with several cardboard cutouts of historical figures. Books are laid out sensibly by genre. It's very pleasing to look at. There is an attached cafe as well. Go To the arts district and support this real gem!
Sean Choi
Best cafe to visit in Vegas, away from the hustle and bustle of the strip.
The bookstore is super well decorated and cozy. There’s even a living bunny.
Drinks and pastries are nicely priced as well!
Gaby Luna (Googlegaby)
Cute bookstore and a huge selection.
Stacy-ann Richards
Nice little book store we where visiting from nyc my daughter wanted to go here so we did
Sara Bloom
A beautiful space with lots of books & crannies go explore, a top notch cafe, and a resident bunny!
Emonna Knox
Absolutely lovely atmosphere. The vibe is chill, the coffee is delicious, the selection is deep, and staff is fantastic. If they ever add a reading lounge, this place would be the GOAT.
Chalkdust Online
Possibly the best bookstore I've ever been to. Highly curated selection so everything you might pick up feels like a discovery. Lovely ambiance and space. Plus there's a bunny living there!

Definitely worth the short walk from Fremont Street. Easy to find and a great place to have coffee and easily spend a few hours browsing their amazing book selection. Reasonably priced as well, you'll be happy you visited here and it's a better place to spend your money getting some tangible assets than risking your money on the slots.
Trevor W.
Cute place that is a cafe & bookstore hybrid. We came here for coffee and manga. The coffee was great, but the manga section was very tiny (one tall bookshelf). I can see this being a great place and chill and read if you are in the area.
Nathaniel Phillipps
Pretty cool place, cafe and bookstore. I think the books are overpriced, but, that might not be your concern. Hosts many public events around literature and writing which is awesome, and definitely needed more in this city. Saw the Clark County Poet Laureate host a reading here.
Jeremiah Lopez
One of the few local bookstores in town and The Writers Block is one of my personal favorites! The ambience of the story is very home-y and the workers are all kind and very helpful in finding any books you may be interested in purchasing. The cafe inside is also really great. They serve Mothership coffee and it tastes exactly as it does in their cafes. Definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a new book to read or just a nice place to sit down and read your novels. Support your local businesses!
Arline Rodriguez
Really aesthetically pleasing. Its a cafe and a bookstore, though I didn't order a drink since it was a quick stop to check out their bookstore.
The bookstore is unique with many trinkets, journals, fountain pens, and anatomy models of different species. Definitely recommend!
Eric Muhr
Surprisingly expansive collection in a friendly, intuitively organized space. This is a bookstore for people who love books.
Clay Schutt
This place is a hidden gem. Absolutely fantastic store. Tons of books and unique wooden and metal toys. The entire store and coffee shop is friendly and inviting.
Mireya Rivera
Very cute spot to find books, have some delicious pastries and coffee!
Sarah Chia
Charming little bookstore with a coffee shop. They have a great selection of books and I love how magical it feels to walk through the store. Love how cozy and welcoming it is. One of Las Vegas gem.
Kenya Maxey
Wonderful bookshop, they had more than I expected I will definitely return. However I will be bypassing the coffee shop, it was my first visit here, I ordered a 7 dollar iced matcha tea latte browsed the bookstore as I waited and did not hear my name called one time. I go back to coffee shop and sit down, write a little in my book and so happen to look up to see what I assume was my drink on the counter. They couldn't even bring it to my table or inform me it was ready as I was perusing the store??? Employees were chatting with each other the entire time without pause, must've been important. Nvm on being signed up for their rewards program, it's a nice spot to go and write, but their customer service needs a bit of work.
Joe Pruitt
Nice relaxing bookstore walking distance from downtown. Well-organized and tidy, good place to grab some vacation reading or just book-shopping in general. My only issue (and it's a small one) is that the AC could have been turned up a little more, it was kind of warm (especiually after I had just walked there from Fremont St).
(they also have some kind of food/snack/drink counter, but I didn't get anything there so I can't speak to how good that is.)
Sarah Peeters
Love this place! Such cool vibes. I take people visiting Vegas here as one of the best "places locals go" stops on my list, which is an excellent and very deliberate excuse to get to come here more often.
Andrew Lowe
The best part of Las Vegas, super cute and all sorts of bird’s flying inside, really you got to see it to believe it❤️ my minimalist pen 🖊 Baron Fig (squire) is beautiful, my daughter got the pink rose one, I’m buying Mike the partridge next time I’m in there. Peace be with all of us and thanks you writer’s block for being there when it was very quiet in the world, I’ve found parts of my self that were ready to be discovered. Writer unblocked ❤️🌻
David Hollis Johnson
Love this independent bookstore! Cleverly crafted with an artistic design concept. There's books, journal, toys, and lots of other good stuff to browse and buy. Plus special events that bring culture to DTLV.
Eva Marie Nevarez
I could live here for the rest of my life with nothing else and no one and be completely happy and content!
The entire place is set up beautifully, different genres and books all ready to find and the people working there actually WANT to be there. They don't hate or merely tolerate their jobs. They're helpful and friendly without breathing down your neck while you look around.
I don't suggest going unless you have some money to spend - everything's priced like I expected but it's just too much to walk in and walk out without buying something. I think I average 4 books per visit.
There are so many other pluses, the cafe attached, the outside seating, other items for sale like games, journals, pens, etc. They even have a pet bunny right in the store!
Hands down the best place on earth.
I would work here FOR FREE and love it.
Andy Leyva
Best bookshop hands down! My daughter introduced me to this place. Beautiful, peaceful and very welcoming. I bought 2 books and will be returning.
Marc Albert
A lovely independent book store and cafe. The place is beautifully decorated and lots of fun to browse. Treat yourself!

I just got myself lost in Las Vegas, and I finally stumbled into the most wonderful treasure📖📚💕 if you’re a bookie or into bookish things, make sure you stop by! …

I went there a couple months ago while waiting for a appointment. I loved the actual bookstore area, and the coffee selection was pretty decent. I had blueberry London Fog and it was good (Made me realize that I am not a huge fan of London fogs but hey, lets try new things). Why it gets a 4 from me is cause of the seating. I know that covid is still a thing but those horrible metal seats made me not want to stay longer and that is generally my attraction to coffee/book stores. You replace them horrid metal things with comfortable seats and id spend way more time there.
Ron Maurizi
Great book store, gifts, coffee shop. I enjoy walking through here. So much to see.
Violet Evergarden
The coffees good but they put to much sugar into the matcha iced lattes.
Eda Avila
Very nice, clean, and calm limited history books concentrating on Europe and America.
Nashira Gamino
We got rejected at another coffee place that led us here and my gosh it is the coolest. Exactly where we were meant to end up in my opinion. The barista greeted us nicely and made us awesome coffee while we looked around the book store. This place is amazing and we are going to be back no doubt!
Laurie Boetcher
Best independent bookstore anywhere! Small coffee shop, excellent selection of books, lots of interesting book clubs to attend, visiting writers, poets, artists, musicians to enjoy. Can't say enough about this Las Vegas gem. Owners Drew Cohen and Scott Seeley and staff are extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. If they don't have it, they can get it for you. Highly recommended!
Michael Davis
Great selection of both books and unique gifts/stationery.
Alexis Hubbard
The new location is beautiful and much larger. I didn’t get a chance to try the cafe, but it smelled great. We bought 4 books and all of the staff was courteous and helpful. The new area is a better fit too, less bars and more kid friendly. I can’t wait for them to start hosting literary events and classes :D
Nelly Hutchinson
Unique and eclectic books and hand crafted items made locally. Staff is very friendly and helpful!
Mike Mills
Great Books Good Coffee Customer service is awesome, peaceful and positive environment.
Great place to take a date or meet friends.
The Herbal Teas are stimulating and the bagels are a swashbuckler for the taste buds
Valerie
The nicest place to go if you want to buy some books or journals. I love this place so much and would recommend it to any literature lover. The employees are super helpful and are knowledgeable. They're always there to help you. The store itself is so sweet. It's clean and so organized. They even have a little pet rabbit. There's some great food places nearby as well, so after you purchase some good books you can have a nice little meal. Overall, I love this place and have never had a bad day with them. I recommend them to everyone.
Ina Clavano
Simply my favourite place in Las Vegas. An absolutely beautiful bookstore that makes you feel like you're in another realm for just a moment. The workers are friendly and helpful, drinks at the cafe are delicious! My favorite is the Matcha Lemonade, if you can get your hands on it. A great local place to frequent, or a memorable bookstore for out-of-town visitors.
Amanda Breeden
This is one of the better bookstores I've encountered on my travels. The birds are amazing. It's well organized and stocked. Full of all kinds of treasures. Good coffee too.
AJ Perrenoud
Pretty cute place, they do have limited indoor seating and drinks are kind of expensive but the vibe is good.
Kathryn Wright
This book store was amazing! So many interesting titles and quirky products in every corner. The staff was extremely friendly and seemed like they loved being there! You can even adopt a fake bird! I loved this quirky little shop and plan on doing a lot of my gift shopping here in the future!
xkristyleex
Amazing spot! They keep up on new items. More than just a book store.
I highly recommend checking this place out. Easy parking.
josh dorn
The Writer's Block is the best bookstore I've found in Vegas.
They have a friendly and knowledgeable staff and it is well organized and uncluttered.
I go there with my 4 year old. He asks to go to the bookstore with the cute bunny.
They also have a cafe in the front.
It's a delightful place to spend time.
Brittany Biggs
I absolutely adore this place! Besides Barnes and Noble, this is where I stock up on books. Drew is literally one of the most amazing person I’ve ever met! He always has WONDERUL suggestions for books and knows exactly where every book is. The first time I came to this place I was doing research about LGBT and he helped me out with that! After that, I took my girlfriend here and she loved the place so much!! I would definitely recommend this bookstore to anyone!
honey
honestly? best bookstore ive ever been to. maybe the best place ive been to. somewhere id like to live. my self control disappeared the moment i entered and i bought a wonderful book and a handful of buttons as a birthday present for myself. i think my favorite aspect is the fact that they only have one copy of each book out on the shelves, so it really feels like you're getting a truly individual experience. the tea and smoothie that i had were both amazing. i want to come back every day.
Wisty Wolf
This book store is wonderful and the cafe is delightful. Not only do they have a wide selection of books, you can order books through them online and pick them up there. They are very helpful and you can ask them if there is a book you're looking for. They hold writer workshops and book club events too!
William Paul
A very unique place. Disappointed on the small selection of literature and their space to sit down and drink a coffee while you read a book. Their cafe menu is small and many times they don't even have available what they have on their menu list. The staff was polite, and try to help you as much as possible.
Mackenzie George
This place is very cool and made you feel welcome right away. They have its own room for writers and you can write your own stories! They guide you through the writing process and what I couldn’t believe is that they had a bunny that they let you pet! 🐰 The books are a bit pricey but overall it was great. …
Donald Bywater
Would be 5 stars if the price points of books was a tad lower, 18 for a paperback novel was not ideal but the staff is on point and oddly enough the random items for sale that weren't books seemed reasonably priced. Lots of upcoming going ons I'll definitely be trying to attend. A very amusing walkthrough for browsing and what smells like very official espresso.
C and W Pichler
This is a fun independent book shop in the Las Vegas arts district. I like that they offer free writers workshops for children. The children get their stories printed at the store's printing press and they get to take home their book. This is a great way to encourage our future writers.
Besides the typical books available at big box stores, there's always a good amount of lesser known books. I would have purchased 2 books today but the font sizes were too small for my eyes. Bummer. I would definitely come back, especially for the fun children's books.
Peace Alliance
It is beautiful inside you would have never guessed from the outside. But I guess that saying goes quite far, don't judge a book by its cover.
Kevin Corbett
This was the first visit to The Writer’s Block for my wife and me, and we could not have enjoyed it more. Whoever designed the layout and flow of the shop did as good as of job as being both creative and efficient with the space. Their book selection more than satisfied us and the staff were exceptionally knowledgeable, helpful, and courteous.
We plan on making this a regular weekend stop.
Nemo S
If you like reading? this is a great place to get your morning coffee and maybe purchase a book or 2 the employees are very helpful and very kind and even went out of their way to help me find a book that I was looking for. While they made my chai tea latte. I live downtown great place to go in the morning or afternoon or whenever you need that good book and a pick me up.
Happy You’re Here
This place is so whimsical and relaxing. I haven't tried their coffee, but they do sell lattes and their book selection is decent. I purchased a cook book and a tin toy. I'll definitely be back.
Amber Davis
Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name. The proprietor, Drew, is an amazing host at a great small bookstore and coffee shop. By locals for locals, visitors are welcome too. See the bunny; enjoy the birds; buy a book. You'll be glad you came.
Terri Walker
The Writers Block is a charming independent bookstore in Las Vegas that everyone should visit. It has an eclectic vibe with an indoor cafe. The book selection is amazing. They will preorder for you and they also have a frequent buyer program. The staff is wonderful.
Stevii Lee
This isn't a bookstore its literally a GEM! I was invited here for a meeting and instantly fell in love with EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!! Not just the aesthetic but the variety of books they have is DEFINITELY worth a visit. This will be my new place of peace. ✨✨
Natasha Nichole Lake
There are few spaces in this world that feel more serene and incredible than this bookstore. It’s filled with color and potential workspaces for creatives. Several little tables indoors and out, with room to enjoy something from the coffee shop or a new book. I love it. I absolutely adore the whole environment-from the front patio to the nooks boasting poetry and philosophy.
Fabiola Chavez
This place is awesome! Quaint but all it needs was available. Drew was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. I LOVE the set up! It felt like I walked IN to a story. It leaves room for the imagination to wonder what was around the next corner. We were guided towards the restroom when unexpectedly we got a sneak peek of the writing workshop Area. My daughter is 9, and recently expressed her interest in writing stories and one day becoming published; Coincidentally, they offer writing workshops and the next one for her Age Group starts next week! Will be returning for sure!
TK Frittz
Didnt have a chance to try the coffee since the coffee shop closes at 4, but the library is AMAZING. I got a new notebook and a nice fountain pen. The people there are super friendly and the atmosphere is great!
Jaune Howie
The atmosphere of this place is awesome. It's a tiny independently owned bookstore. The store as itself is amazing. It's got more than just books, it has notebooks, nifty little toys, cards, writing themed candy and notebooks. The selection is pretty wide for such a tiny shop. I'm only docking it a star because the staff seemed unfriendly and stand offish every time I've come to the shop. They dont ask if I need help and dont help when I do ask.
Ryan Walker
Best bookstore in Vegas, has terrific coffee, and a live rabbit.
Erica Wells
Super cute and cozy bookstore! Absolutely love the vibes here. Plenty of different genres. And the have the CUTEST bunny 😍 …
Mandy
I love what they have done with the new location. I hadn't been here since they moved from the old location and it is so fun and inviting. I wanted to stay all day and go through all the books. Happy to see they still had the bunny :) I was also happy to see they added drinks and food!
Mike Boldry
I really want to support this place, but it’s kind of hard. I love bookstores and coffee. However, my experience with their coffee here hasn’t been great. It’s hit or miss. I’ve gotten warm coffee and an iced coffee when I ordered a hot one. The iced coffee is mainly ice and milk. I’d suggest going elsewhere for your coffee, as there is so many in this area. But neat bookstore. They have a rewards program that I wasn’t told about until about my 4th time there. Hopefully their service improves cause it’s a cool spot and idea. Nice people, just not good coffee for 6 bucks.
Jeff Phillips
This is an amazing place. Huge selection of books, wonderful atmosphere and some good coffee to go with it all. We didn’t want to leave!
Y La
It was such a cute place. Wish the busses stopped nearby that location. It can be a walk till transit.
Johnna Langen
Love this little book store. I simply had to take a small tour through first to take it all in. It’s a fun space and geared for a reader. The history of writing in the framed shadow boxes is very punny. The survice was okay, in that he was my cashier, but his personality didn’t seem to match the eclectic, interesting, cleverness of the store. Oh well. I eagerly recommend popping in.
Judy Jenner
Love this place! I might just be Drew and Scott's biggest fan, and I've brought friends and family from four different countries to the store. It's so amazing and refreshing to see a fantastic selection of serious literature for book snobs like me (but we are nice book snobs). My latest purchase: a Patrick Modiano, a gift from my dad who was in town from Europe. In Vienna, bookstores abound, but he was impressed, too. The place is cute and very different, and you have to love the artificial bird sanctuary. Oh, and don't forget the rabbit. Be sure to check it out, and let's support independent bookstores! You can tell that this place was created by two people who love both literature and people. It's amazing what you can do with an old boxing gym.....
Làs Vegas
Never open.there hours flexible.
Chris Kirschman
Fun place to check out. Coffee shop in front to grab a bite, drink, and chat with friends or read a book/work.
Fantastic bookstore with fun things to explore. A rabbit is there to visit, along with lots of fake birds to buy.
Hans Rawhouser
Cute bookstore in the Fremont East Downtown area. The book selection is pretty broad, there is a good bakery/drink bar, and a place to eat. You go here for location and experience. It is an important part of the of Downtown culture
BRYAN REX
I visit book stores. It's what I like to do when I travel. Some people like to go to museums, some people like strip clubs or outlet malls, I like to visit the local, independent book stores wherever I go.
The Writers Block is definitely not the biggest, their selection is not the broadest, and their prices are not the cheapest, and yet they may be one of my favorite book stores to date. The atmosphere is just... perfect. The store is not reminiscent of the proper gentlemen's library of a period piece as many an independent store attempts to be (and of which you will hear no complaint from me), The Writer's Block feels less like a literary mausoleum and more like you've stepped into a Vonnegut or Heller novel. With hidden treasures and good humor found in every available space you could spend hours browsing this wonderful store and still find more.
Sam H
This the type of place to go to find new authors to read - everything on the shelves is good (at least all the ones I recognized were). However, don't expect to find more than 3 books by a given author. Once you have fallen in love with an author, you'll need to find some other place to get the rest of their books. Also, don't expect to find your guilty pleasures here either.
Timothy Schelz
Excellent local bookshop with an adorable pet rabbit.
Joanna Bailey
We had a flight cancelled and found ourselves with extra time in Vegas. We easily spent more than an hour in this well organized, calm, and friendly oasis in an otherwise desolate place. It is rare to find an independent bookstore with the variety and knowledge base of its owners' interests and talents. Wish we lived closer!
Bruna Del Nero
This is an amazing bookstore. I wish it was larger, but a book lover can definitely spend hours there anyway. It's a must see for any traveler who is a book lover! The staff is just great and their events are awesome.
Marvin Nuqui
Great coffee and awesome coffee shop/book store
S
Such a wonderfully decorated space with a great selection of books! Also, there seemed to be an area just for book clubs and the smoothie I got was tasty!
Brendan Seyka
Super fun place to browse with an excellent selection! Found a book of poetry from Diane Wakoski, an author I haven’t found elsewhere yet. Very quaint and peaceful place a short walk from Fremont.
420 LV
Sometimes I go here when I need a break from everything, it helps me drift away from the everyday life, I’m introvert so I like it that they just leave me alone unless i ask for help. Thank you guys for knowing that not everyone likes interacting with others. I love it that they sell little cute stuff to give to friends as small mementos. I’m not a fan of the birds because I’m not much into taxidermy. Great place and greater selection of books, friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Nachi Alcuaz
This bookstore is a gem in the downtown area. It's really cute and has a cafe attached to it. I just wished they'd put some chairs on the bookstore area so people can sit while browsing a book to help decide if they want it or not.
ShaRhonda The 1 N Only
Thank God for this store! We love books and the variety here is fantastic. The staff is always so helpful and willing to offer suggestions and/or order something for you. Love that we can also hear great speakers.
Yari Morales
The Writer's Block is everything a bookstore should aspire to be. They have a diverse selection of book including those by local authors. Not to mention, they have the best customer service and if the store does not have what you are looking for, they will help you order it. Everyone should visit this wonderful bookstore. Absolutely one of my favorite places in the city.
A P
Great book store, had tons of books and I was able to get a copy of the book I wanted, "Mycelium Running". The layout is nice and the staff as well, will definitely need to return here and would recommend it to anyone.
Dr. Mary Goshay
Usher was amazing! We had a great time
Sara
So glad Las Vegas had this wonderful locally owned bookstore. Beautiful setting, wonderful service, great selection and a bunny to boot! I highly recommend a visit.
Greg Gemignani
Excellent atmosphere. A nice place to have a coffee and to browse and buy books.
Christian Gutierrez
Welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Staff is very helpfull. Coffee is good. Interiorlayout is relaxing and comfortable. It was a little hard for me to find a book when i was pointed in the right direction but staff promptly found exactly what i was looking for. I recomend this place to those who tend to have writers block. I beleive this setting will help... Will definitely be back soon.
Katie Castro
My fave small business in Vegas! There is always a huge selection available in stock. Staff are all extraordinary! Orders available fast. Store / Cafe extremely clean.
Goodnight Margaret
Beautiful, thoughtful space and broad selection. Prices are comparable to Amazon ( I just pull up my wishlist and buy from WB instead). If you can't find what you're looking for most times they can order for you. Cafe is good, coffee and pastries only. Genuinely nice staff. A much needed addition to DTLV.
Katie F
The Writer’s Block is such a lovely place! Everyone is so friendly and the atmosphere is so welcoming. Definitely a place to visit if you like finding local bookstores on vacation; or a place to become your favorite spot if you are local!
Jimmy Lembcke
The selection of books is wonderful.... very cozy and conducive to quite reading and a warm cup of Tea.... The staff ate friendly and very knowledgeable about their inventory.... Great ambiance!!! Don't rush in and out.... 30 minutes is good to explore and catalog what is available...
Enjoy...
Dan Hugo
Great spot for a quick meetup, a nice coffee, and a browse is the many bookshelves full of real books that you can actually touch!
Chris Cipollini
Ive been coming here for years and cannot speak highly enough of the place. Drew is a passionate owner who lives for books and runs the place like a well oiled machine. The vibe of this place is the vibe of people who love books. The décor is colorful and fanciful, bird cages, an adorable rabbit in a cage by the poetry section, and all sorts of knick knacks from Czech marionettes to Scottish notebooks.
Come to the Writers Block. You'll be presently surprised.
Erin L
I cannot speak more highly of this business. If I could give 10 stars I would. This is hands down the best customer service I have ever received in my life. I was there maybe 10 days ago and I was really impressed with the store. Located right outside the heart of downtown this independent bookstore is a true gem in our Las Vegas community.
What initially drew me in was the writing critique classes as well as the various book clubs they offer. The bookstore itself while it may be much smaller than your chain stores like Barnes & Noble.. is not by any means lacking in product. Seriously I found some of thee best books I've been dying to read here which I could never find at chain bookstores. But what makes this place so special is the people whom work here. Drew in particular. Omg what an angel face.
I was looking for one book in particular I could not find and he immediately got up and helped me order it from the warehouse to have it shipped to my home. He told me it should arrive in 2-3 days which I felt was almost too good to be true. 10 days later I hadn't received my book so I called to just see how things were going. He promptly returned my phone call and kid you not within those 15 mins my landlord handed me the package containing my book.
When he called I apologized and told him I had just received it. He apologized to me and said that he was mortified it took as long as it did but he was happy that I received it. He then went on to refund me the full price of the book and on top of that offered a gift card which I could not accept he was being so accommodating. I felt extremely valued as a customer and will ALWAYS purchase my reads from this bookstore in the future.
Drew turned me from someone who was just looking to check this place out into a loyal customer for as long as I reside in Las Vegas. Thanks so much Drew!
Destiny Barrett
I have loved this place since they were on Fremont at their previous location. There ideas are well organized, they have very intriguing topics. They will hold books for you. I am so glad this establishment has survived in these difficult economic times.
Kayla Long-Yanez
Such a gem in our community. A cute, small book store with a top knotch selection. We had been looking for some graphic novels for our young readers and they had a lot to choose from. We will definitely be back!
Julia Emahiser
Fun book/coffee shop downtown Vegas. Lovely chai tea and great selection of books!
Ann Chapman. Storyteller
I love books. The layout of the store was inviting. I liked the figures of the authors. Very nice experience!!
David Leach
A cozy bookstore and coffee shop
Kim Larson
I was fortunate enough to go along with my daughters third grade field trip to The Writer’s Block. I must say this was by far my favorite field trip. Writer’s Block is an Amazing and quant little book shop. The gentleman that work there do a unique and fun work shop for the kids. I would definitely recommend a visit.
Patricia Capitan
Love this cafe/Bookstore! Some of the best book selections in the poli sci/philosophy section I've ever seen. Lots of cute nick nacks and the use Mothership coffee here! The best!
Maile Marie
Very cute inside. I came just to browse so I can't say anything about the coffee. Wide selection of books and so many things to look at and buy inside. Definitely coming back :)
Sofia Navarro
Really nice book store downtown. Has a cafe inside as well which is great. Lots of different selection of books and really friendly staff. I recommend checking this place out.
Colleen Freeman
This is a charming bookstore. Not just books. They have some lovely puzzles, crafts, and artwork. The cafe and store is staffed with enthusiastic and knowledgeable young people.
Colleen Vosicky
This is a beautiful downtown bookstore. It is reader friendly and kid friendly, which as a parent and teacher, I really appreciate. I am so excited to bring my family down here for writing classes, Sunday afternoons, and of course, book shopping!
Joseph Kim
Really cool bookstore with many interesting books on wide variety of topics!
Bryan Bullock
I would have liked to spend far more time and money at this store. It's a quirky, independent place with an odd selection of books, shadowboxes explaining "history," a fortune-telling machine, and a partially rebuilt iron printing press. I will definitely be going back when I'm next in Vegas.
Tina Tope
This is an excellent place if you want a nice chill place to drink coffee and read a book. Like a magical Library.
Sabra Savasana
My favorite independent bookstore for new books and gifts. Beautifully designed and styled. Terrific staff.
Extra safety precautions followed.
Noah Baldwin
If you are looking for a book and you cant find it, a book seller is happy to help you find it. If they dont have it at the moment, they are happy to order it for you. Great place to pick up a weekend book and some coffee. Got this kaweco student pen for 16 dollars
Natalie Pitt
Adorable, modern bookstore in downtown. Cold brew was fantastic. They ordered in a specific book I was looking for. So nice! Can’t wait to return soon!
Monika Kaminski
What a pleasant surprise to pass by this bookstore! I picked up a book I had been looking for and also one just from browsing the shelves. A great collection here! Also love the fact that it's a workshop for kids too. KUDOS!!!
Jack G
Kind of ridiculous anyone would give this less than 5 stars. We drive 6 hours on our vacations to visit TWB. The staff is always optimistic & helpful, the book selection is top notch; and the ephemera for sale is unmatched.
Latrice Kemp-Jones
This was a great little place tucked out of the way great books to purchase as well as a coffee and pastry counter the coffee was amazing as well outside seating it was a really nice place to just hang out and take care of business or just get a book and read
Strike 2.0
Beautiful shop, friendly service, and who can pass up the cute bunny! Would definitely recommend. Also the iced matcha was A+
Aaron Q
Cool little book store. The staff are friendly and helpful. Great coffee, the iced americano was great.

Loved it Great little coffee shop and bookstore So nice to have something like this in Las Vegas
Wesley Miller
In the running for the best bookstore I've ever visited, and I've visited quite a few bookstores. Beautiful interior and well curated.
Sagan
This little shop is a hidden gem of Vegas. I was so impressed with what they had to offer. The employees were also so kind and very fun to talk to. I'll be making it a required Vegas stop each time I go now.
Trond Johnsen
A true Las Vegas gem. Decent sized book shop with a lot of other stuff up.for sale to. You can browse this shop for hours without getting bored. The main feature is books, and the people running it a genuinly interested in litterature and wil help you out with whatever question you have. This is an independant shop - so lets keep this thing going ..pick up a book or to and support this one of a kind i Las Vegas. Truely a magnificent shop..go here and buy a book recomended by the staff...get a bird to :)
Becky Crowe
Quaint and cozy and a wide selection of genres as well as puzzles. Something fir everyone!! Looking forward to our next visit and trying the coffee shop!
Diana Martinez-Armendariz
The best customer service, the owners area very nice, they took the time to shows us around, they both are very creative, the bookstore is super cute and super kids friendly. They sell very original and didactic stuff. Love it!
Kayla Connick
As far as I'm aware the only independent bookstore-coffee shop combo in Las Vegas that isn't Barnes & Noble. ♥️ this place, it's a gem.
Lee Ogata
First time there, and I loved it. I'm amazed on how big the book store is. It really didn't look all that big from the outside. Definitely worth checking out.
C.J. Brown
Great bookstore , great staff
Amy Mueller
Love this place!! The new location is great, the owners are great, the book and gift selection is great and there’s a little coffee shop now, perfect!
Christopher Rountree
On a quick trip to Vegas we stopped at The Writer’s Block. Make sure to meet the rabbit “The Barron”. This place is wonderful and maybe moving to a bigger location soon... (we overheard something about that). I’d be a regular if I lived in town. Let’s all support places like this one! Right?!
Andrew Schneider
Cool bookstore with good selection of new books, toys, and board games. Also some really clever "history" lessons posted on the walls that made me laugh out loud. I just wish they had a used book section since that is primarily what I shop.
Tara Poetic Phillips
Step outside the illiterate Las Vegas and imagine for a moment you are visiting Phoenix, AZ, Los Angeles, California or New York, New York. Enter to the cafe with local coffee provayer; Mothership Coffee. Take your energies a d channel it into the retro yet comfortable seating with WI-FI, plenty of power outlets.
Release the literary bug inside you. Resist the urge to be digital. Walk back into the master plan BOOKSTORE!! Endless rooms to fufill any ambition. Spend hours reading. Feel comforted by seeing known and unknown Authors on the shelves. Launch the inspiration to write your own book.
Newest location of Writer's Block.
There is certainly no 'block' of creativity in the construction and interior design of this independent bookstore. Often has local Poetry and Art events.
PLEASE SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE. EVEN IF ITS A DONATION. The last string of independent bookstores died between 2004-2014. Of course Barnes & Noble lacks geniune personalized care to customer's.
Support the local community.
Okay, the bookstore is located downtown Las Vegas on 6th Street.
I referred to other cities earlier, because Las Vegas has lacked the community and culture other big cities have. Glad to know the trends are changing!!
Felicia Entin
Cutest quaint bookstore I have been to...probably ever. They are closing shop here and relocating in a few weeks. I will miss this spot but can't wait to visit their bigger spit. Rumor has it they'll have a café this time.
Sarah Rice

Use wonderful locally owned bookstores whenever possible. The Writer’s Block is a full service and very cool bookstore. If you know bookstores you’ll understand how outstanding this shop and the staff is.
Alex Carlone
Simply put, the Las Vegas community is better off because of Writer's Block. The interior is stylish, the products are clever, and the attention to craft makes for a great experience. I love how they collaborate with kids who have no other place to go in the valley.

It's a quaint little bookstore. I went in looking for a journal and they had a couple to choose from. The register is set up all the way in the back of the store and I didn't realize that so I stood at the front of the store for several minutes before someone mentioned that I was in the wrong spot.
