This is one of my favorite stores in Houston. They have a great nerd collection, and I’m a huge nerd. From the comics to the toys, there is something for everyone who has nostalgia for their childhood or still looks for these things now. The location is quick to miss so look out for the tiny building right after the hotel. This is very rare that I bring it up, but the staff is an always inviting or welcoming. But it comes with the territory of visiting a very historical establishment like this, especially for those who are into the sorts of things. Nevertheless, you this is worth the visit every time.

Love this place! Great comic book selection from new releases to classics. They have multiple endless rows of funko pop figures as well as action figures and other collectibles. They have a small section of D&D figurines and other miniatures.

This is a good comic shop with a nice selection of old and new. It’s a great place to find a “nerd treasure” you’ve never seen before. Cool vibe with a friendly staff. Definitely worth a stop!

Large store; great selection of comics and many other collectables. Also, some items such as vintage VHS tapes and paperbacks that you don't often see in this kind of store. Everything is well organized, with special sections for items such as Star Wars merch and collectable card games. Friendly and welcoming staff. You enter for the parking lot from the Southwest Freeway Feeder Road, before passing the building; I missed it the first time, but parking was fine in the end. Want to come back.

Great place. Much the same collection as other "hobby" shops but more comics and also things one would not expect, like paperback novels. Saw a lot I liked, as well as some games from my childhood that took me back. Best variety of posters and miniatures that I have seen and wide variety of TCGs. I highly recommend making a visit.

Really cool place to get some great stuff mainly comics and action figures, wish they would have a bigger selection for Funko pops. Maybe a update l, kinda hard to spot and a lil dusty and seems like they don't get much new stuff. Would recommend and definitely go back soon to see hopefully they get more pops in. Also if possible can y'all put the price tags on the bottom of stuff instead of in the front of product hard to take off and leaves marks on the items.

I came in today to sell some games and comics. I browsed the store while they inspected my items. They had the most awesome vintage toys all around! Things I haven’t seen in 30 years that still look brand new. They didn’t offer to buy any of my items. However due to their fantastic customer service, I made a purchase from them before I left. I will be back to the future!

They have a TON of comics and I mean a ton. Lots of vintage toys, some model kits and Mecha figures, a fair selection of more popular manga, and some D&D minis. They also have figures of scantally clad anime women if you’re into that sort of thing, and some legos too. I was mostly interested in the model kits/mecha figures and the manga. They have pretty much every volume of Beastars but like pretty much every other manga store, they may not have the 1st volume of whatever you’re looking for. For the model kits, they don’t have a lot of Bandai Gunpla if that’s what you’re looking for. They have a few of the earlier Real Grades. There are a good amount of those small size yet expensive ($40-$30 for like a 4-inch figure.) Gundam figures and some Robot Damashii/spirits figures too. They don’t have a big selection of Gunpla or even mainstream mecha kits, but they do have a rather small amount. They had a Bandai Zeonography Quebeley I and III dual pack and I wish I would’ve bought them instead of the disappointing Kotobukiya Shiranui and Bandai RG Exia that I had gotten, which are both disassembled because I dislike them so much. Thats more of my own fault. My point is, i wish their website wasn’t a glorified linktree substitute and that they actually catalouged their products on there because I would totally buy those figures.

We came on Free comic book day and star wars day and they had something going on for both events. The woman dressed like an ewok helped us pick out a new board game. She was very helpful by explaining what the games were.

Fun store to go to but I felt it lacks a bit of variety unless you specifically go there for Star Wars, Star Trek, etc . I literally went there 5 years ago and regretted not buying 2 cool figures/busts and I was surprised they were still there (but looked worse condition now) when I came here the other day on a toy hunt. It also was dark and very musky/damp smelling. Not really planning to go back.

Been coming to this place since I was a small child. My mom would bring me in to get a Spawn action figure or Aliens boxed original. They have everything Sci-Fi. Great for kids and also for the avid collector. They have comics, board games, a small magic the gathering and various card games selection. But their pride and joy is their comic selection and uncooked action figures. A collectors wet dream. This place is doing great and will probably be here when I’m dead and gone. Great job guys. Keep it up.

What a fantastic shop! I really appreciate the staff as they give great advice and are very knowledgeable. I'm pretty much a complete beginner with comics and as the selection is huge, I asked the guy working there for some advice. He helped me in an excellent way. Not only were his selections spot on (I loved reading them), he also showed me several other graphic novels to look at the art and gauge my taste a bit. I've bought a collection of older X-Men comics and "Coward - Criminal" that day and I loved every second of it. Went back two weeks later and I got again the same excellent treatment. When one graphic novel was sold out, the staff helped me with a special order. Yeah, there are other comic book stores around town, but for me, I will only be coming back here as it makes me feel I'm in a different place. Especially in this pandemic, it was such a great relief from the every day boredom.

The minute you’re in need of satisfying you’re geeky side, come here and they’ll help you find what you need. I’ve been greeted and treated super well every single time I’ve stopped by, and just in casual conversation I heard that they’ve been veteran owned and operated for 45 years (which explains the fantastic service). I was also really impressed by their Disney memorabilia section and just the sheer amount of Funko pops I could choose from.

Fantastic collection of comics! Always up to date with the latest stuff and almost a guarantee they have enough on the shelf. Even if you are not into comics it's a fun place to experience, nostalgia trip right as you enter the door. The walls are lined with all your old childhood favorite toys, not only all that but the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Great selection of collectible action figures, toys, along with old and new comics and graphic novels. Awesome place to take the kids. Nice source for various comic series. Parking not so great but seldom crowded. Recommend for the kid in you if you're an adult or to take older kids 10 and up. Ok to take younger kids but isles are narrow and there's a lot to knock over so you'll need to keep the younger ones close to you and not let them run around.

Such a cute little store! They have gacha machines in the 'lobby' and that was fun too. I wasnt able to stay long cause I got there so late. They have a LOT of comics and stuff. Their dnd section is nice, so many pathfinder booklets and for so many other systems as well! I didnt have time to look around, but I would definately go again.

This is my second favorite place for comics the staff is always friendly and knowledgeable it is quite tight in there so make sure you know what you want because it's a pain in the tush, to move around in there. They have a lot of interesting and usual things, you just have to ask what's new and what's on sale. Most of the comics are covered which I enjoy, they have posters and figures,cards and all sorts of interesting things. It is a must if you are a comic or manga fan.

I've always had a wonderful experience every time I come here. The girl with the Australian accent was very was warm and very friendly. This place is the best - I believe it’s the longest continuously-operating independently-owned comic book store in the country, according to owner TJ (who is one of the most fascinating and engaging people I’ve ever had a conversation with; if he’s in-store and not busy, try and meet him - the man loves his customers and employees). I used to work nearby and come in occasionally just to say hey or kill some time browsing, and the degree to which TJ and manager Stephanie (I think?) and all the staff cater to their customers, know them by name, know what they’re likely coming into the store for, etc. Aside from that, it’s a cultural and historical landmark with a very distinctive blue-painted building, great for group photos/social media, especially if you’re coming from out of town and looking for cool spots to check out. Could not recommend this place highly enough - lovely, awesome people and a cool place to take care of any nerd-needs.

I tried going to all the comic shops that were within a 5 mile radius of where I live and I think I ended up going to 5 or maybe 6 comic shops. Out of all of them, this was either the best one or a close second. The shop will almost certainly have what you're looking for, even if the staff might not think so (one time I asked a specific staff member if they had a certain cover and he told me they didn't have it but I ended up finding it anyway), but I do find it a little bit annoying how they display the newest comics. They have a whole wall dedicated to the comics that have come out in the past (I'm giving a random guess) 3-4 months all displayed in alphabetic order. That includes whatever comics that might have come out that week, meaning you have to go hunt for them all across the wall if you get more than 1, and despite having markers saying "new this week" on them, it is still much less practical than having one shelf or a specific area dedicated to those week's comics. Those might sound like the reasons I gave it 4 stars out of 5, but really the reason I didn't give it that last star is because of the parking. The parking is god-awful, every time I get in or out I feel like I'm going to get in a wreck with someone that might be pulling in or driving out. Why? Because to get to the parking lot you have to turn from the service lane into a lane wider than one car but not wide enough for two that leads to a narrow alley with parallel parking spots on the right side and once again, room for one car to keep going onto the back of the building, which only has more narrow parking. You can try to keep going and turn right on the next road, where there is a nice parking lot, but you'll be met with a sign that says no parking unless you're here to buy female sex toys, which if you feel brave I guess you could try too see how strict they are with their towing policy.

The good: This place is packed with comic books, toys and collectables. There is something for everyone here. They have. 25¢ stash for the kids, a section of trades that are 40% off and loads of titles from all genras. People were very friendly. Looking to go back! The bad: the location! It's a really sharp turn into the parking lot on a very busy schedule street.

I am still not sure exactly where to park. I parked at another business and walk to Third Planet. I think most fanboys and fangirls will love the place. They had gaming stuff; boardgames and rpg items, comics, pop vinyl and other types of figures, and a whole host of other cool stuff. Super staff.

He won't BS you to make a sale - and won't low ball you to make a purchase. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly - when they can be - as the store is always busy. This is a store for the true collector - not someone looking for a toy for Timmy's Birthday Party (Unless Timmy Collects).You can't go wrong!

Really cool little spot if your into comics, action figures, D&D, manga, old stuff, retro stuff, books, sci-fi nerdy stuff, etc. They have a lot to look through so definitely don't be in a hurry. Toys galore! Comics out the wa-zu! Nerd haven. About the only pick I have with this place is the comics need to be better organized. Marvel-DC-Image-Other Instead they are all grouped together and kinda hard to pick through. You can do it but just takes a while. Don't let that stop you from checking it out though.

i recommend third planet to anyone who will listen. of all the places i frequent, third planet has the friendliest and most genuinely helpful staff. steph has helped me out the most; i once asked for a comic recommendation and she set me up with several different series to my taste. not only that, but from my feedback on those recs, she figured out most of what i'm looking for in comics and recommends something new pretty much every time i visit. absolutely spectacular

Nifty little sci-fi store with a large variety of products from different TV shows and movies. All sorts of novelty items and trinkets to explore, and a huge selection of comic books, books, movies, etc. It was pretty cool to just walk through and look around, but if you're really into collecting sci-fi figurines or an avid comic book fan or whatever, this place is definitely for you and you're bound to find something you love! I bought a cute little puzzle for a good price and wished I could have bought more stuff :)

The selection at this store is truly the biggest draw. There are walls of vintage and current toys, dozens of bays of current and vintage comics, magazines, paperbacks, graphic novels, manga, and various odds and ends. The store also has gaming supplies, posters, trading cards, and the other usual ephemera associated with a store of this type. I knocked off a star because the prices are generally high, sometimes very high ($46 for a 70s Marvel Mag in rough shape!?), and I find it unreasonable to walk into a brick and mortar store and find comics and magazines at two or three times the price of a what a diligent Ebay search would field. Not a store for the bargain hunter. That said, I got out with some mags at a decent price and I'd recommend this store to any comics fan, especially one with vintage taste.

This is what all comic book stores should feel like. Bins and bins of comics, a wall of all the new releases, and a display case of collectibles. You mix all that together and put it in a charmingly old building staffed by a polite group of people that look like they're ready to debate you on all things nerd and you've got 3rd Planet.

First off, the place is very personal....if you are expecting a sci/fi,comic book store to be equal to the experience of going to Wal-mart or Target your kind of stupid...they greet you without hovering and making you feel uncomfortable..whenever i needed help they were there with every answer to every question..and they made good suggestions..when a true collector goes to this kind of store..they would agree the best part is the discovery, lose yourself in everything they have to offer..also in the world of collectibles you should expect to pay top dollar...the prices were actually cheap compared to other book stores i have been too...i even seen a couple of good silver age books in the 5-10 dollar range....wall to wall star wars merchandise..the stores appearance from the outside has character...it actually looks like a comic book store...i will be traveling from louisiana to shop at this store often now.
