Reviews of da Shop: books + curiosities
Tomomi Nakashima
It is such a charming and fun book store. Especially, children's book section has a great variety of books. I think you can find a couple of lovely books for someone as a gift. I feel like "I want them all" in this section. You can park across the street. After browsing interesting books here, you may walk around Kaimuki main street and grab a bite. I am glad to find another hidden gem in Kaimuki!

This is one of my all time favorite bookshops. The selections are thoughtful, refreshed often, and always enjoyable. Some of my favorite finds here are poetry anthologies from Hawaiian and local writers. Even my kids love coming and getting to pick out a new book every so often.
For gifts or personal perusal, da Shop has something for everyone and for all ages.

If you thought there are no more real bookstores left, try da Shop. Great selection, friendly vibe, just wunderbar 😉 …

Awesome bookshop on Oahu-great selection across the board, kids books, Pacific Islands, Art, and current. Love this place and can’t wait till we can start having events again! thank you!
Note to the nursing mamas…parking across the street is inexpensive, shaded, and good people watching!

Super cute shop with a large children's section, including an adorable little hidden couch nook where kids can sit and read while their parents look around. Also includes a big selection of both children's and adult books on Hawaiian culture, from history to surfing. Plus, lots of coffee table books, a great cookbook section, and a well-curated range of novels and nonfiction with something for everyone (ask the friendly and knowledgeable staff for recommendations). Parking is in a lot across the street. We bought four books and got a free sweet da Shop tote bag. Love this place!

Very well-curated little bookstore in Kaimuki, including local authors, art books, poetry, cookbooks, children's and teen books, and plenty of interesting national fiction and nonfiction titles, all nicely arranged in a comfortable space.

The staff is so friendly! I didn't know they existed for so long, but now I'm so glad I found them!!! They package the books so cute when you place a curbside pickup order, too.
I've never had the opportunity to go inside due to COVID, but they've adapted to the new times. Their website is so nice, and their curated lists are so good.
Colleen Foster
Great browsing book store with an emphasis on Hawaiian stories and culture but that also has popular fiction and nonfiction. Only drawback is poor parking options.
Ava Fedorov
Such a lovely addition to the neighborhood! A great selection of books and gifts (many local authors and artists). They also host wonderful events regularly: book talks, culinary classes, artist talks, etc. Not to miss in Kaimuki!

An INCREDIBLE independent book shop. Big section of Hawaii/Hawaiiana/local books, and a really well curated cooking/food selection. Beautifully designed shop and the wofker(owner?) was very friendly and helpful. I’m glad but jealous that Honolulu has this bookstore!

Very sweet store. They have a carefully curated selection. There are also cards and gifts in addition to books. The person who helped me was very kind. I will definitely visit again when I’m in Honolulu.

I always go to bookstores when I travel, so I had to go to Hawaii. The bookstore is small but well decorated. The area of Japanese-related books/Hawaiian local books is large.
Buying a book and reading it in a nearby park feels pretty relaxed ^_^..? The neighborhood atmosphere is good. Not bad if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki.
It's not far from the food street where Leonards Bakery is. It is also close to the Kahala Mall.
