As a history teacher, I have always found it important to find a good used book shop. The Book Cellar has been wonderful, not just for their ever changing selection of nonfiction titles, but also for their generosity. When I purchase books for my classroom, Mike has often given me a much appreciated discount. This teacher's budget is small, but it goes a long way at this shop! It's always cool when local businesses so readily support the schools/kids of our community!

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon with my family. The store owner went above and beyond to help my dad and sister find books they were looking for. And of course Brady was so loving to us. What a great addition to the store- and amazing customer service. It’s too bad my family and I aren’t from grand haven or this would be a usual shopping spot for us. Thank you again to Mike for your incredible generosity, we are truly grateful.

Stopped in to grab postcards as we were traveling through, and had a very warm welcome from the store owner. Loved chatting with him and he was very kind and friendly to all of our kids! Great shop with great selections! highly recommend stopping in!

The owner is a very friendly knowledgeable person. Has two wonderful dogs that love petting! If you haven't been here yet, you need to! You won't be disappointed. So many books to choose from. I never walk out without at least 5 or 6 books! Check it out!

The best book store I’ve ever been to, I’ve been regularing here for months and just realized I’ve never written a review. There’s an amazing selection you can find anything from beautiful vintage classics, book tok books, a few brand new popular books, kids books, and everything else. They have some adorable dogs there (tank and brady) who are way too cute! And the owners mike and Amy are so helpful Mike has read every book ever and gives the best recommendations and deals. Not to mention the books are SO cheap, once I left with 9 books for $20 (hardcovers too) anyway please go there theyre so sweet and it’s the kind of small business you want to support

My family and I were visiting Grand Haven for a weekend away. We came across Mike's store and he welcomed us in with a friendly smile. He was great with my children and engaged their interests. The store has a wide selection of books of all genres, and is definitely worth a stop in if you are in the area. Tank and Brady are a fun bonus treat as well! This is a gem of a store. We will definitely be back!

I love a few simple things in life: good people, good books & good dogs. All of these things can be found at The Book Cellar. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. The stock of books is so huge it is easy to find the right book for any reader. Oh and of course the shop dogs brighten anyone's day. Stop in and check it out for yourself!

What an awesome book store! It’s rare to find so many trendy and popular new books in a used book store. The prices are even better. Mike clearly knows his books and made excellent recommendations. I only wished I lived closer so I could shop here more often.

This shop is a hidden treasure!! You may poke your head in and decide it doesn't offer much to your genre preferences but upon further digging, you will find they have everything! Mike gave us recommendations, was absolutely honest and wasn't afraid to tell us if a book wasn't worth the read. Not only did I trust every one of his suggestions but he made a bond with every one of his customers without being intrusive. He's just a person you feel lucky to have met. He talked super hero comics with my 7 year old brother for at least an hour and has made a best friend for life. Back to the buisness end of things- Mike had a rare set of books I was searching for at his home and sold the set to me for a fantastic price. If you are ever in search of anything you can always speak to someone about if they have it in their inventory. Not to cheapen the love of reading either but you can find every book at such a great price that you have no reason not to add 5 more to your cart. I will never purchase another book again before making sure this shop doesn't have it first. ❤

This is by far the best used book store I have ever been to. The layout is excellent, making the books easy to sort through and find. The books here are in excellent condition, and the selection includes older and newer titles. If you have questions or need help, the staff is extremely welcoming and friendly.

My kids and I spent some time chatting with the owner, Mike. He was very helpful in our book selections, very personable and it didn't hurt that he has an absolutely adorable dog, Tank! Through the course of conversation we discovered that Mike had been a parapro for quite awhile. My daughter and he were discussing the assorted challenges working with autistic kids. My daughter mentioned that she is teaching herself sign language to teach the mostly non verbal boy she works with. When she said that, he said"wait, I have something!" He gave her a kit of flashcards for sign language and he wouldn't take anything for it. My daughter was astounded and extremely grateful. If you get to Grand Haven, Michigan check him out!! We were there Sunday September 19,2021
