Don’t miss a trip! Definitely worth a visit in Birmingham. Loads of character and history. Spend a fair chunk of time going through and seeing what you find. Theres loads more than books here! Had a great time with my husband today :)

Terrific old book store. Everything you can imagine! Meet the owner who is truly a part of Birmingham history. He is a true book lover and either has what you are looking for or will find it for you.

I visit used bookstores everywhere that I travel. A stop at Jim Reed’s in Birmingham was a highlight of my first visit to the Magic City. This is organized and presented the way a good used bookstore should be: piles of books and ephemera, too. The sole owner and impresario, Mr. Reed, is the perfect antiquarian. No, he had nothing on my list, but I fond a gem there. I am sure that you will too. Closed Sunday and Mondays.

I love this place; a must see in the B'ham. The owner is awesome and there is great atmosphere here. This is the way bookstores should be.

Wonderful place. I felt like I was going to open “The Book of American Clocks” and find a way to go back in time. The owner is very friendly. If you like bookstores, definitely go.

Another bookstore gem in this great country of ours! If you're ever anywhere near Birmingham, definitely stop by.

This is the bookshop you want to visit! Floor to ceiling... hugged by wonderful books & stuff. I believe Stan Getz was being played over the speakers when we came in... oh yeah, there's music too!

This place is a gem. When I come looking for a specific book, I’m always able to find it. One visit last year, I had been looking for an extremely rare and difficult book to find. It was over 100 years old. Reed of course had it! To the ones commenting on it being cluttered, part of the fun is searching. You’ll find books you didn’t even know you were looking for. My husband and I drive down from the Huntsville area every few months to enjoy Reed books!
