Reviews of This House of Books
Karl Mauch
Cool bookstore. Looked at all other bookstores in town for a book series and this was the only place that had any part of it. Bought what they had and the lady working that day offered to add the last book I needed to their next order.
Natasha M
Overall the store has a great vibe, much cozier than their old location
Too many tea options
The owner always manages to kill the vibe
Lawrence Todd
Outstanding independant bookstore! Great selection of books, both of general and local interest. Friendly, helpful people that really have a love of books.
Julie Schultz
This bookstore is a co-op, and I feel lucky to be able to own a little piece of it! Although the selection is not as large as you would find at a bigger store, it is clear that every book has been selected by an actual person, not an algorithm (and the variety of regional-interest and Indigenous titles is probably better than at most bigger stores!). There are also fun gift items, toys, games, and tea to round out the offerings. The staff are lovely, and even when I have been looking for an esoteric book, they have done everything they can to help me find it, even if that has on occasion meant relinquishing business to another establishment.

This place is the most incredible hidden gem in all of billings. Outwardly it is an unsuspecting bookstore, but once you enter, it is a nerdy tea enthusiasts dream!
If you love tea (and a variety of it at that) then this place has got you covered.
If you love books, this place has used and new books as well as nerdy paraphernalia!
If you love boardgames they have some open for play and some to buy!
I will be a regular customer here!
Kent Savage
Excellent selection and atmosphere. Wonderful whether shopping for a new read, a gift, or if you want to have a coffee or tea while reading for a while!
Nicole Lorenz
Love this store. It is cozy. They have a variety of teas to drink and the staff is very helpful and courteous. They have a good selection. I definitely will go back when I am in town.

It's a book store, but theres a whole lot packed into it.
In the books you get great selections including those from local authors.
If you're not into books, there's a fantastic selection of niche card games and board games available. Theres even a game night where you can try them out (though, I must confess, I've never gone!)
If that doesnt suit your fancy, that's fine, there's ALSO a HUGE tea bar with pretty much every variety of tea you can possibly fathom.
The people that run this place are amazing, and the store really is a treat. Next time you're downtown, check it out.

A community-owned bookstore with a tea bar, game night, beanbag chairs for kids, constant author and community events ... why would you ever leave?
Chris Santillo
For a tea lover and literature enthusiast there is no place better than this wonderful store. I spent several hours over several cups of tea writing and enjoying the peaceful ambience. My writing was all the more epic for the inspirational movie soundtracks coming through the speakers (I hope). My children enjoyed the wide game selection available for sampling, and they were welcomed to play to their hearts content.
Russell Hoehn
Great store, nice selection and amazing staff. However, the owner should really update their hours online. Says open until 7pm weekdays but they close around 5pm.

This is a gem in downtown Billings. They have lots of local and Montana books and a great atmosphere. Be sure to go check them out and support both a local business and local authors!

As a Montana expatriate, I can confirm that this state has an excellent array of independent bookstores per capita. Of all the ones I've been to, this is my favorite. Every time I'm here I find a book I've wanted to read. Their selection is excellent and I love the environment.
Alma Costa
Friendly staff. Was able to find an activity book for my grandson there. I looked everywhere and couldn't find one and this place had a variety. Love their hot teas.
Kenzie Brooks
Outstanding experience! I called ahead to see if they had any journals for my niece as a Christmas gift. Very polite and new right away and said he had plenty to choose from. Drove down there and easy to find. Went on and great atmosphere customer service was top notch will be returning soon.
Dan Lee
Very cool little shop. The selection of books reflects a love of good literature that falls outside the beaten path. Wonderful tea bar and they host excellent events for writers and local poets.
David Shumway
This gem of downtown Billings is the place to get books and tea. A great atmosphere, incredible tea assortment, and all the books you are looking for (and they can order just about anything). Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Billings, this bookstore also happens to be the best place to find hard to find books from local and regional authors.

Gus (the Manager) was a friendly, knowledgeable and fantastic! The place has an amazing homey feel like a gigantic custom built library only made for the enjoyment of those who visit. And it comes with tea!
Christopher Myers
Great variety of teas, friendly staff that goes out of their way to accommodate their customer's needs and even learn their names, and they offer board game demos on Thursdays. If they don't have a product, they'll order it for you. Fun place.

I love This House of Books! It's a great little co-op that has game nights and a tea bar. I don't even like tea that much and the friendly staff has always been able to find something for my taste.
Sara Wickware-Thompson
Great hometown bookstore- new and gently used books, terrific variety, best tea in town, and friendly helpful manager and employees. Wonderful shop to relax with a cuppa and a book, or find a great gift.
RamelaRuth Harmon (Ramela Harmon)
Never met an establishment with nicer employees. If you want the best bubble tea in billings then you go here! While waiting for your drink(they have more than boba like hot chocolate, regular tea(iced/hot/with or without milk), different sweeteners(vegan options), and I think there was lemonade too) you can sit reading books which you can buy to finish at home. There are lots of comfy places to sit, and they have plenty of events like game nights, author meets, book clubs. It's a really great place here in billings. If you want to try a new tea I recommend their blue banana oolong with wjole milk and sweetener(they make signature blends which are so tasty!).
Andy Wildenberg
This book store is on its way up, and since it's a co-op, you can actually own a piece of it.
Fantastic teas of all sorts to drink while looking through the merchandise, and if you ask for advice the staff can help you find what you like or something you never knew you'd like.
