A new and used bookstore, complete with a rare book area and gift shop. The store is laid out by reader age and genre, so children, YA readers, and adults won’t have an issue finding books. An associate asked if I needed help while I was browsing, and then the associate up front let me stack books behind the counter before check-out. Both were friendly and helpful. The only two suggestions I would have are I’d love to see thrillers parsed out from general mystery, and then I’d love to see an LGBT romance section; there’s paranormal romance and then general romance with LGBT mixed in. Overall, a nice store to browse with a good selection to browse through. I found three used books I had no idea I needed, and the total was only $12.

I really enjoy this book subscription. They did a really good job selecting books for me, monthly. The idea of not having to return, and lending it out to someone else, and them replacing it with a different book for you, for free, is phenomenal. However, they never even emailed me back or acknowledged my email when it happened to me. I also never got a renewal email. Kind of sad about that. I went to renew, but it’s over $100 more then last year. I can’t justify that in any way to renew.

We live over 2 hours from Albuquerque, so when we travel there, we like to maximize our time. On our most recent trip, we decided to visit Page One, as both my husband and I had a list of books. We were thrilled with our experience. The staff were friendly and helpful and the selection was fabulous. We forced ourselves to leave after finding 7 books. I am definitely looking forward to a return visit.

This is such a great locally-owned bookstore. Considering it is a "small local business"; it is pretty massive. I love the selection of popular and obscure books. They have great displays and the store has a good layout and flow for having such wide inventory. The Staff is friendly and it is clean. I highly recommend.

The first book in the stack of books I bought was a new release that I was going to buy on Amazon. Glad I could support a local store. Getting a stack of books to buy was easy. Great inventory of new and used books, with some teaser books on carts outside. I went there based on other recommendations. Glad I followed that advice. Been to a lot of bookstores. While Page 1 is not a Powell's it is a wonderful bookstore that I'll be going back to many times.

Lots and lots and lots of books! I've been a shopper at page1books since the early 80s. I really like the place, and the culture. I miss having bookstore so that I can stroll through, take down a book, look it over, and decide whether I want to purchase it or not. That's what Page One Bookstore is. It's an actual bookstore, not some impersonal mail-order service with generic printed synopsis of the book I'm looking at. It's a nice place. It's fun. You should go browse through it and look at a few books . They have some unique books that you can't get anywhere else. Certainly, the atmosphere is unique as well.

Even when used bookstores could be found easily in every town, Page 1 was in my top three bookstores. It remains every bit as good after all these years. Their pretty and classics section is probably the best in the state. Their kids'section is great, and sci-fi as well. Actually, the whole place is wonderful. A real gem. Family owned book stores, like this, are just so much better than big box stores. Not only for the obvious economic reaons, but because they actually know, curate and cater to the local public. Page One is arguably more than "just a book store". personally, I LOVE some of the programs they've instituted (the mystery book section, where you can't see the cover, only a clever summary written by the staff, for one). The selection is great, and something new and amazing is always easy to find.

Great selection of used books, games, and other gifts. We sold some books, but for us it was a long drive from Rio Rancho for little monetary return. The limit is 2 boxes of clean used books per person per day, then they select which ones they'll pay you for. From 4 boxes, we got $17 total. As we did, I recommend you ook at their website for book selling requirements, if that is your intent.

This is my absolute favorite bookstore! I have been coming here since I was a child when they had a different location on Juan Tabo. The owner or manager of Page One is the nicest and most helpful and enthusiastic man I have ever met. He makes me want to buy every single book he recommends! Not only does this local book store offer curbside pickup, they offer delivery as well. This bookstore is my perfect little escape from the world :).

HUGE selection of books, but I just could not figure out the lay out. The shelves are labeled with multiple genres kinda here and there. Mostly new books, very few used. I went looking for some YA used series and left empty handed. Plenty of pretty, new books though. I also struggled getting someone to help me, maybe I just had a rough experience.

Good safety and cleaning protocols in place for COVID and still absolutely the best new and used bookstore in town. Used books are ALWAYS reasonably priced (most of them are half the cover price) and they are placed side by side with the new ones plus they now have a really nice selection of boardgames. Very friendly and helpful staff who are quite knowledgeable. Can’t recommend Page 1 enough. It’s been my go to since I was a teen and it’s no wonder it’s endured for so long. It’s a Bibliophile’s dream to be sure.

I love bookstores, especially locally owned bookstores. I have been going to Page One for several years now and it is always a great experience. The prices are fair, they are really good about giving you quite a bit for buybacks (mainly if you choose in-store credit), and the staff is really friendly. The selection is also pretty good. So 3 stars due to employees. Asked an employee for assistance and they were not knowledgeable on where the book sections were in the store. They asked another employee to assist and that employee was put off in having to leave the desk. Both employees directed me to the wrong area. I eventually found the correct section by wandering the store and was really surprised and disappointed that the selection of books was as limited as it turned out to be. By then I was no longer interested in purchasing anything. I was really looking forward to my first visit to this store and don't think I will bother driving all the way up there again.

I love visiting used bookstores as I'm traveling, picking up a book to read along the way. This is my first time in Albuquerque and I needed a book to read, and Page 1 Books was closest to me. It is an awesome store. A great selection of both new and used books in a comfortable store with a knowledgable and friendly staff. I ended up picking a book based on the staff recommendation cards that are on the shelves, and it was a really fun book to read while on a road trip! If I'm ever back in town, I'll go here again!

The greatest independently owned bookstore in Albuquerque. You'll find new and previously loved editions side by side. A real dollar saver for some. The staff are dedicated, knowledgeable and rabid readers; their suggestions line the shelves. They also buy books, not all of them, but enough of mine so I gain store credit for new purchases. Have been shopping here for over 20 years because Amazon doesn't give me that warm and fuzzy feeling that walking in to Page 1 does. READ ON!

Support your local bookstores! This place is great. I have come across multiple unexpected finds here. I'd definitely recommend checkimg out the Antiquarian room, but be careful as it is crazy easy to spend your entire paycheck here.

Had just the book I needed to replace one I ordered used online for my daughter for Christmas. When you first walk in it's a little hard to discern how the books are laid out but quickly pick up on the layout. I also picked up a puzzle for my son. Nice location, I miss the old one though.

Awesome local book store. Been coming here for years. Moderate selection of every subject. Especially great deals if you can find what you want used. Usually i buy everything on Amazon, but the prices are just as good here, and you can't bear the experience of thumbing through a book before buying.

A used and new bookstore combined into one? Tell me more! I don't go to Page 1 Books enough, mostly because I tend to buy a million books (I may be exaggerating...) when I do go. The staff is very helpful and well read, great with recommendations if you need. There is also a well-kept "secret" bookcase with used new releases (in hardback!) for a reduced price! Come, get lost, buy too many books. You'll never regret it. Your husband might, but you won't.

My first experience here was fantastic. They even ordered a book which will be released in April at my recommendation. A wonderful selection of new and used books in good condition. Unfortunately, I had to return a couple of items I had purchased (it happens). I had the receipt and was within the time frame of their return policy. When I got to the counter, Craig rather abruptly told me to go look for another book while he "filled out all the paperwork," which consisted of a 1/3 page slip of paper. He seemed all the more annoyed when I told him I wasn't going to look today. Things got worse when he demanded a reason why I was returning the books and asked if I read them already (I had not; it just wasn't what I wanted). I realize it's a bit unusual to return books, because books are awesome. Perhaps next time I'll go to the library instead, where they're used to books being returned. I'd hate to make Craig fill out more paperwork.

Page One is one of the best bookstores on the east side of town. A small business, the atmosphere and whole feel of the store is pleasant. They offer a great selection of all genres, although it slightly favors fiction. The small building means that a staff member is never far away, and their customer service is excellent.

Helpful employees, but when I came in late on a cloudy winter afternoon, it was darker inside than out. I thought maybe they were closed. Used books are alongside new ones, and priced the same. You'll need to check inside covers to see if there's an inscription from a former gifter so it doesn't look like you're re-gifting. 😳

I've been visiting Page One for 16 years. It's one of the only used bookstores to feature a sizable RPG section, right next to Art. The staff have recommended authors that I've loved, and they're always fun to talk to. Their book-buying policy is simple and reliable, and because of it, my library has been tilled and rotated over the years so that it keeps producing book joy. I don't know what I'd do without Page One.
