I called Max to do a spring tune up my road bike five years ago and have been using him ever since. You can't beat the convenience -- he is prompt about setting up an appointment and comes right to my house -- which is perfect given my schedule. He is 100% reliable. Max is also a great source of cycling information. He ordered some winter bike gear for me that was fantastic and recommended bibs and shoes that have worked out really well. The best thing Max has done was to build up a bike for me using a beautiful carbon frame that a client of his was selling. I had told him I was interested in upgrading my ride, and he kept an eye out for me. I absolutely love the bike he put together and found it very reasonably priced. I have recommended Max to all of the folks I ride with and most are now customers of his.

Max is truly full service! He recently helped me with a build of a new bike that was ordered online and also "renovated" an older bike that now rivals the new bike! Max also sold my old bike as well as a set of wheels and some old components. His service fee was more than fair and saved me all of the trouble. He has access to great parts (components, pedals, bike cases, etc.) for the same prices or in some cases better than you'll find online. He is reliable, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I cant recommend him more highly. I look forward to him coming to do spring tune ups at my house next year!

I've always bought my bikes "off the rack" thinking that a custom bike would be entirely unnecessary, wow was I wrong! This past March Max Lippolis fit me for a custom Scott road bike and the difference between the bikes I had previously ridden and my new bike was striking. The new bike is more comfortable while I ride AND because the measurements account for some back issues it is ALSO more comfortable AFTER I ride. This will allow me to ride more often. I have had Max servicing my bike for the last 5 years. The first time I had met Max I had consulted with a local bike shop that informed me that I had to replace several components and I would need to drop the bike off for 4 days...over the weekend. Max was recommended to me by the Westchester Cycling Club. I called Max and as I do twice a year now, Max set up an appointment within a 48 hour window. Max is very straightforward, honest and punctual. Max fixed parts that I was told need to be replaced and I was able to get many more miles out of my investment. You cant beat the convenience- Max always comes to my office- it works out great!

Max recently serviced 4 bikes for me and my wife -- and the work was excellent. He was thorough, disassembling everything down to the headset and bottom bracket, a complete overhaul. The work was done quickly (during the busy season), unlike many shops that can't get to it for a week or more, and professionally. On top of it, I saw Max riding on the road a week later, and he noticed that I needed a reach adjustment on my shifters -- and offered to do it while I wait this week. I've been in and out of bike shops for years and never really found a shop that made me feel that my needs came first. Off the rack bikes, even at the high end, had components that didn't necessarily fit. Then I heard about Max and Yellow Jersey Cycle from a friend who is an avid rider and has collected at least a dozen bikes through the years. I myself have been riding for more that 30 years and even when my budget has gone up I never truly felt that every aspect of a bike was just for me. When I first went into Yellow Jersey and met Max, he first wanted to know the type of rider I was. How often I ride, what my ride level and style has been and if I had any specific needs. Besides my height, inseam, arm length, and flexibility I was also measured for my hand size to get the right circumference on the handlebars. I even tested out several saddles before I decided on the one that's the most comfortable. Yellow Jersey Cycle is the opposite of your typical local bike store. Nestled off a less than busy verdant road in Greenwich, when you walk into YJC, it seems like you are entering a master workshop, with precise instruments sparsely holding their place versus endless rows of rubber, carbon, and aluminum alloy inventory. I called Max on the phone after several failed attempts to find a suitable replacement wheel from other local Fairfield stores. Max recommended a set of wheels that no one else even carries in stock, and after my own research I purchased the wheel set, and couldn't be more satisfied with the decision. Max races also, and when you talk to him and meet him in person, you can tell he knows what he is talking about, He is one of the few people that has probably spent as many thousands of miles on the saddle with all the serious components as you have, and knows how to fine tune it all. A quick look at his walls and you will see for yourself. I don't trust my bike with many people, but I would gladly trust Max with it for any adjustments, enhancements, or repairs.
