I love this place! Such a neat concept! Very spacious and comfortable place, located in the heart of Capital Hill. It has indoor and outdoor seating so you can work while enjoying a cup of coffee. Excellent customer service and very flexible with working around your diet!
I didn't shop at the bike section but it looks like a lot of options on bike gears.
This is so far my favorite neighborhood café stop!

I went to Metier to get a bike fit.
It was my first time in the shop, and I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is great, and the sales staff are super nice. Their inventory skews towards specialty race/performance gear; things you can’t find at Greg’s Cycles, for example. I’ll definitely be going back to pick up some goodies in the future.
The bikes fit itself went great. Todd really knows what he’s doing. We chatted a bit at first and then he was really focused once it was time to make the fitting adjustments. The end result was a bike and cleat setup that is way more comfortable and powerful. I would highly recommend it.

After riding a cannondale r1000 for many years, parts finally started to wear out. I like nice bikes and metier is the place to satisfy! I biked in around 4pm on Saturday and was shown the Cinelli below. Thinking about it overnight, I decided to do the Sunday 930am club ride. Shop opened at 9am promptly and by 930, I was off on a test drive. The service excellent, fast and very knowledgeable! Oh, the coffee was great too, lol. Thanks for the comfortable and awesome bike!

Metier is far and away the best bicycle shop I have ever been. It actually seems a disservice to Todd and his crew to call it a shop. The passion of the owner and crew is evident in every facet of this place. Todd’s knowledge and experience helped me finally figure after 30 years of riding, the key to relieving my numb hands! For a bike fit, look no further.

Meiter is hands down the best premium bike shop in Seattle. John in retail always makes me feel at home, and is super down to earth which is refreshing in a sport full of pretentious people. Metier built my Aspero-5 and my experience with the service department was excellent as well. Lastly I got a fit from Todd, and working with him couldn't have been better. I needed a new saddle a few months after my initial fit and he got me back in to dial my fit free of charge. Support your LBS! Def check out Metier brewing too if you haven't already.

I brought in a vintage Nishiki road bike with rotten tires early last summer, that Helen's in Westwood (now closed) had screwed up so royally a few years back, I couldn't ride it. The Bike Improve guys put on Continental Ultra Sport tires, slightly wider than the originals. Really gives a great ride. The bike was in good shape (it was in storage for years), but the spokes were rusted. Nir told me to use steel wool and WD-40, because any new wheels he could order wouldn't be as good as the original ones on the bike.

Metier is the BEST!!!!! I could not have asked for a better group of guys to work with. Joseph replied to a basic email and two weeks later my dream bike was being built!!!!! Joseph and the crew have to be the most professional and easy to deal with in the history of like, EVER!!!! I can't wait to have them build me another set of wheels, and eventually another bike!!!!!!! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Awesome and helpful staff here! Flat tire on my commute and soaking wet, a quick search found this shop. The employees got a mechanic on my bike very quickly, and they were friendly and informative while changing the tube. They were efficient, even adding an extra bit of air in my other tire and was back on the road!

The go-to shop for your "race" bike.
Some folks have mentioned they think Metier is a touch pretentious, but that hasn't been my experience at all. The folks at the coffee stand are always super friendly. Ted (I think he's the lead mechanic) is kind of quiet, but once you get him talking he's super friendly and helpful. Everyone else I've worked with there has been great as well.
Note: They only really stock the high-end of cycling gear, so you probably won't be coming here for entry-mid level clothing or gear, but where they really shine is in their bike fittings, bike mechanics, and personal training. Oh - and their coffee stand!
Anyhow - highly recommend Metier.
And - almost forgot - they try to get in you in-and-out same day. No 7 day waiting time here!

Loving the Cervelo R5, and wanted to thank everyone at Metier for sheparding this detail-obsessed customer through the process with patience, expertise, and all-around professionalism. See you out there!

Great customer service and competitive pricing: I got back into cycling after a long lapse. Todd offered great advice and set me up with a bike that fits my needs perfectly. Ted and team handled the initial adjustment, subsequent tune ups and a chain replacement. Everyone at this shop is knowledgeable and helpful, and scheduling has always been a breeze. Bonus - the coffee shop / bike shop atmosphere is fun, friendly, and local!

Awesome waffles - they were ahead of this latest trend - but so much more. Very comfortable and casual space to grab a quick bite and a drink. Nice simple menu with something for everyone. Also, super pet friendly.

Got my first bike fit and a tuneup. I have to say As someone who was a newbie Todd and Andrew were amazing to work with on fit and service. They helped walk me through every aspect of the fit and decision on some new parts. They did not push new parts on me and even tried to make my shoes still usable even though they were stripped and toast. A great show for cyclists at all levels and really great service!
Eric Pozil
I've been going to Metier before they were at their current location. Todd and Ted are my cycling gurus. I've purchased a few bikes from them over the years and have always received white glove service. For me going to the bike shop is my favorite store to visit. Going to Metier takes it to another level. If you are looking to buy a mid-level to high-end bike, this is the place to go. If you want the highest level of expertise servicing your bike, this is the place to go. If you purchase a bike from them, the best way to maximize the value is to have Todd do a professional fitting.

I was biking on Broadway and suffered an unexpected flat tire. I limped the few blocks to Métier and was greeted immediately. They had the right sized tube for my somewhat unusual bike (front loading cargo bike, specifically a Bullitt) but tragically my tire's sidewall was shredded. They did not have a tire, which is not surprising, but they called up nearby Good Weather and I walked a block to pick up a tire there, then returned and proceeded to fix my flat in their sales floor. They kindly loaned me a few tools (tire lever, wrench for my Pitlock skewer) and a pump.
Friendly staff, eye-popping expensive bikes to ogle while killing some time, pleasantly arranged sales floor. I loved the rustic wood floor boards and overall spaciousness of the building. Would happily stop in again for emergency flat fixing needs.

I had an issue with how my gravel bike was shifting. I took it to a different bike shop twice however the issue was not resolved. I did some research and came across Métier.
I rode to the shop last night. Even though it was past 5pm they took time to look over the bike, discuss what they felt the issue was an even tune the derailleurs while I waited.
I rode tonight and literally the bike has never shifted better.
Thank you Métier!

I love this shop--great bikes, great coffee and excellent atmosphere! These guys have fitted both my wife and myself for bikes--and now our rides are SO much more comfortable. The guys in the service area have helped me assemble 3 bikes now and I'm about to bring in a 4th. I keep coming back because when they are finished--everything works! It's seems like a small thing--but I haven't been as successful with other shops. Thanks guys!

After working here for a year and change I can say wholeheartedly that the staff puts customers first and that the management/owners truly care for their staff (also the first job I was sad to leave). There's no other shop in Seattle that I trust more for advice as well as with my bikes. They will have my business as long as I'm in Seattle!

I was having knee pain and needed my cleats fitted for my Peloton. Todd was great, the fit is perfect and I’ve been pain free since! It was super helpful that they have a Peloton onsite so I could replicate the bike fit at home perfectly. A little pricey, but I think totally worth it for pain free rides.
Kate Ronkainen
My bike had been in storage, unused for over 4 years, so I figured I would take it into Metier for their 'Overhaul' tune up, their most comprehensive and expensive bike tune up. The shop pros quickly evaluated my bike and recommended that all I really needed was a wipe down and a shifter flush + adjust, which only cost me 30% of what I would have paid for the tune-up! Thanks for the honest assessment. I would recommend this shop!
Kenan Sakarcan
nice guys and atmosphere. Tim is a top notch professional that was very detail oriented both times I've gone in to see him for some post bike fit adjustments. Other times I've seen him for just questions and DIY help and he's been happy to help and talk.
Thanks Metier team!

High end shop that has a full array of all things bike related. Entire staff is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Ted was quickly able to diagnose and fix a few uncommon problems I’ve run into with my bike. Todd helped get me dialed with a Retul bike fit that was top notch. Go check em out!
Ali Almuallem
I stopped here for a cup of coffee and to admire some cool bikes. The coffee was nice and the place is quiet and cozy.
Derek Rocco
Have helped me out twice now with touching up used bikes! Very informative and friendly staff. Did parts-free touch-ups and advice on the house for one of my bikes. Definitely my go-to shop in the Cap Hill area.
James Bowman
I expected to pay $80 in parts to fix my bike myself. I took it into Metier and had it fixed for $30. Service was awesome, the staff took the time to explain exactly what they planned to do to get my bike back in working order. They were happy to hold my bike while they ordered parts, and even did a tune up after changing out the parts. All for $30. This place is incredible!
Thodoris Rekatsinas
High-end bikes and professionalism beyond words. From shopping for a bike to servicing to shipping.
Fannyu Chien
Needed to get my tires refilled since the pump I bought didn't work very well and the staff filled it up and also replaced the tire cap free of charge. Will definitely go back in the future if I ever need to service my bike.

The best high end bike shop and bike repairs in Seattle. I’ve been a regular for the last year and have had nothing but phenomenal service from the staff here. Coaching here is also second to none, big results and fair prices.
Benjamin Skrainka
Todd and Ted at Métier are rare individuals who execute with precision, ensuring that my cycling experience is as friction free as possible. In addition, they also make sure that my wife, who is relatively new to cycling, is comfortable in the space and that her fit and bike are just as dialed in as mine. From bike fit to bike maintenance to training, Métier is the best and most consistent shop I have found throughout the roughly ten cities I have lived in. The Homegrown Cafe which shares space in the shop is a nice addition, making it easy to grab a coffee or something to eat after a ride or while waiting for a quick fix in the shop.
Kenneth Odem
My trusted bike shop. Andrew is great and Derek has been super helpful with getting me fitted. Great team.
Kid Knapp
Cycling Technicians in service center are aces here. Maintenance masters and custom craftsman. Their bike shop only carries quality built bespoke manufactured items. Their shop's beauty is close to a Modern Art Gallery with the finest Italian and French frames. Their fitness, yoga, strength testing center and spin classes can take your game to the next level. Lastly and most importantly their CAFE & CHEFs have an epic menu and RAD COFFEE choices!! What are waiting for LUBE UP AND SPIN OVER THERE!!
Josh Scribner
Love the concept and layout, but $6 for a plain quad espresso? And another buck to get it iced? $7 for four shots over ice? I want to love this place so much; the bicycle service has been good and friendly so far, and fairly priced. But there is an unfortunate air of elitism floating around the place, and the absurdly overpriced coffee is a good way to push me back into the nearest Starbucks.
I'll update this review if my feelings change with future visits. Again, I really want to love it here, but appealing to us inglorious city commuters as well as hardcore roadies would go a long way toward making it a welcoming place I'd want to frequent.

Though I only got to try the coffee side of business, Métier offers excellent brews. The space itself is quite beautiful, and there is outdoors seating if you're lucky enough to get some sunlight. Nice selection of bike paraphernalia as well, but a little on the expensive side.
Daniel H.
Great shop, friendly and knowledgeable staff. It was an interesting concept to fuse beer, bikes and coffee that seems to trending in certain cities. Métier is a cut above the rest with high end bikes and quality equipment.

Needed a tune, new chain, drive train clean, bike wash and rotor tuned... and dang!!!! Andrew in service completely rocked it and the bike is race ready. Always the best service and vibe here. Keep at it Metier. 🤜🤛 …
Liset Burguera
Today I did a bike fit here. The moment I walked inside the shop I felt I was in the right place. The coffee is great, the place is beautiful, the people (almost all former pro cyclists) are friendly and knowledgable. Just the best!!! :)

Bikes, Coffee, GOOD Beers and now Donuts?
Thanks Todd and Co.
Note: over the past 3 decades I have been on both sides of the shop counter and in other facets of the international supply chain. The Shop is good, service to me has bee solid, and while drinking coffee and ale, wee have been spec-ing out an OPEN.
And there is pizza next door. and one side street west is HERITAGE Distilleries. A regionally based start-up craft distillation house....might I recommend a tasting of "Special Forces" or the "Brown Sugar" Burboun.
In Closing, Todd Herriott and Craig (my man) and folk are great by me,
cheers

What a great little shop! I stumbled upon this place when I got stranded on the hill with flat tire and no repair tools. The staff were friendly, helpful and fast. From the storefront it just looks like a restaurant, but there is a shop you can access from the alley to the west. Nice to have a reliable shop on the neighborhood again!

If you like any of the following you're going to like this place: bikes, coffee, a cafe, good food, a bar, tasty beer, fun. Super cool spot. Give them a visit.
Carlton McQueen
They fitted my wife and me for bikes and we have enjoyed them since. Very unpretentious or intimidating like a lot of other upper end bike shops. Very friendly and approachable.
Mike Riedel
Rented a bike from Métier while visiting Seattle. An awesome bike with great service from everyone I dealt with at the shop. Highly recommend.
Steve Utaski
I’m here pretty regularly for morning coffee/breakfast and would say I’m a fan. But there’s a big gotcha: at least on of the staff members will automatically add a 20% gratuity to the counter order and distract you with small talk so you don’t notice while you sign the iPad . It’s tacky and cheap and takes away from what is otherwise a great spot.
Bryce Bennett
Killer spot for the serious bike snob. Typical Seattle pretentious spot but thats the norm isn't it. Slate coffee nice and supreme bikes and parts and clothing. High class biking spot where bikes rule. Nice coffee too. Don't have to be a biker to hang here.
Barett McGavock
Fantastic, inspiring space. Excellent coffee, unique food, fast service. Bike and studio services are a really cool addition. It all works together so well. Come visit!
Brian Downing
There’s no more kitchen service here, but they do make smoothies and have some pre-packaged food to go with good beer. Nice, spacious area to eat and look at bike paraphanalia.
John Burgher
Great bike shop and cafe, friendly staff. Have a coffee and watch the races on big screen tv.
Anthony Thomson
Really good coffee ( they change there beans every Monday) and there bike shop is filled with quality parts and professional people.
Great atmosphere also!
Zach Muller
Great atmosphere. Good food. Good coffee. It's kept clean which is always nice. Even if you aren't into biking it's worth a stop by.
Douglas Perry
Total pro shop with great service staff and curated gear.
Jimmy Rupert
So much more than a bike shop. A great place to have coffee, eat a fantastic waffle and talk to a knowledgeable staff member about all things cycling.
Max Walter
Full service shop where I can get a coffee or beer while they work on my bike??? FANTASTIC!
Great folks working there and excellent service.
Bec Wilder
Super unimpressed with the lack of women's representation in the curated store. So unimpressed. Otherwise, good decor, ok place to chill. I'm not going to make this one of my regular spots.

One if my go to's. Have always been good to me thus far. Well worth your patronage
John Klupar
When they do something they do it right. You can identify the attention to detail starts at the top. The facility, the coaches, the mechanics. Everything is Pro. But, with in reach of an amatuer cyclist.
Michael Wheeler
Check out this beauty and the price tag!
Daniel Buehner
Ended up here for a coffee and a waffle before a game at Cal Anderson park nearby. Wonderful atmosphere good coffee and an awesome waffle.

(Translation) I really like waffles with seasonal fish. Good place to eat. The portions are large, delicious. Prices, really expensive and I don’t like coffee. On the contrary, you can buy dessert) which cannot but rejoice at the location.
