My kid wanted a pink retro bike and we found the perfect one at Jonny Rock Bikes. I liked it so much I bought one for myself too. I wanted it in purple and they did not have it in that color so the owner searched and found one at a competitor’s shop and had them ship it to him so I could get the color I wanted. They have amazing service here. I highly recommend them!!!

Just had my first experience at this shop, and will definitely be back!! I heard they had experience working on Priority bikes, so I brought in my Continuum Onyx to get the handlebars switched (wanted something with a little more sweep back for my poor wrists). They had to install all new break and shifter lines, which I know had to be a real hassle on this bike, and I could not have taken it to a better place. The work they did was great. There was a minor issue with the shifter after the work was done (it’s connected to an internal enviolo CVT hub — very temperamental) and they took it back and fixed it (after having to do a ton of digging to find ANY of the manuals on this dang hub. I love it but jeez!) at no charge. I am so grateful that they sorted this out for me! Everyone was so kind and friendly, and the mechanics are amazing. Love this place and would highly recommend if you are someone with a Priority bike!

Wow! What a cool bike shop and such a refreshing gem. Bill and John are knowledgeable and just down right relaxed about getting you what you may be interested and need. They’re expert on repairs and services too so you can feel confident about what you’re buying if refurbished. Large variety of fat tire, commuter, cruiser, single gear, and kids. Skate boards, accessories and gear are also fun and unique. This is one spot worth checking out. They are opening second location in Bloomington. Highly recommend!

What a great experience! They listened to my needs/goals and then presented a selection that would fit. The lot near by was perfect for test riding so I could narrow down to my purchase. I had a few questions as my bike knowledge is mediocre at best, all of my questions were answered and welcomed. They also have a selection for my tall husband, which can be hard to fine! So glad someone pointed me in their direction and we will be back.

Awesome service. I called about a used kids bike and they had one on hand. They set it aside for me so it was ready when I got there. The bike was in fantastic condition; it looks brand new. Easy fast check out which I appreciated because I had 2 small children with me. Staff was friendly with my kids even though they were a bit rambunctious (like small kids can be) can't wait for my child to use the new-to-her bike 🚲

I finally remembered to bring my city bike in for a tune-up during the off season. What was returned to me was amazing--fully tuned up and looking like new. I immediately went home and came back with my road bike that also needed a tune-up and new handlebar wrap. Unlike another chain bike store in town, the handlebars at Johnny Rocks were done meticulously and with great care. This bike tune-up was done quickly and was also returned to me in pristine shape. The prices are great and I got much better work and personalized service for less than what I have paid at another chain bike store (which always tries to upsell me on things I don't need). Happy to support a small, locally owned business.I highly recommend! 🚲

Stopped by to look for bikes for my twin granddaughters. The experience was fantastic. Two perfect bikes were set aside for them to check out two days later. I didn't ask them to do that, they did that on their own. The staff took time to fit them and explain the bikes and how to best take care of them. And the price for the almost new bikes was surprisingly low. I also got information on their bike tune-ups. The price was also surprisingly low for the work that is included. I will be back!

My bike of 12 years became difficult to shift. 1.5 shifts to hit each gear, even after I thought I fixed it. Took it to Jonny Rock and they knew the problem immediately. It was done 2 days later and shifts better than it did new! Super cheap too! You can tell those guys do what they love. Incredibly friendly and honest. Would recommend 100%.

This place is great! I brought my 33 year old Schwinn dad bike in for a tune and a safety check. These guys fixed it up proper and corrected some major safety issues. My bike is now smoooooth like butter! Everything is dialed in just right. The price was fair and they didn't try ot over-sell me on anything. I also appreciate the peace of mind knowing that I'm riding a safe bike with my little one. They had everything done in a day. I didn't even realize until I got home that they removed the ugly 'dork disk' when they changed the cassette. Will definitely be back!

I took my recently acquired vintage Peugot racing bike to Jonny Rock Bikes in Bloomington, for tires, a full maintenance check-over and a new seat. They were kind, so unlike most snotty bike shops, and they were quite familiar with old bicycles. My bike was done very quickly, and done right. This is a rarity in bike shops in the twin cities. Finally took my bike up to the bicycle shop today. They were so incredibly sweet and kind-hearted. One guy quickly determined what my problem was and said he'd just fix it for free real fast and about 5minutes later my bike was back and in perfect riding condition. Didn't try to pressure me into buying any other services or equipment. Just said "Well, that's my free fix for the day. You're good to go." So my bike is riding perfect again😊 Little things like this really give me hope in humanity.

My derailleur snapped off on a ride, causing some serious damage to my bike, including twisting my back fender out of shape. The crew at Jonny Rock not only shipped in parts from California to replace the part that broke (and everything else that needed it) but HAND MOLDED my metal fender back into shape. I thought that fender was gone but they made it work. They also did a thorough cleaning on both my husband's bike (which he bought from the store a few years ago) and my bike. I recommend Jonny Rock to everyone I speak to for all of their bike needs!

The people at Jonny Rock Bikes are life savers! Every bike shop in the metro including them are backed up with repair jobs. My girlfriend and I have a big ride this weekend as the MS 150 has gone virtual. I took my girlfriend's bike in last minute as it was experiencing issues with shifting and braking. These guys are the BEST bike shop around. With working full time and working on my second Masters Degree. I usually do not have time to do reviews. I bought a second hand bike from them last year and have ridden this thousandths of miles. The deralier, went out on it this spring and I brought it in to them and I am still BLOWN away on what kind guys they are. Great service, I was looking for a hybrid commuter bike to get to work, and also take on the greenway. Jon and his staff were thoughtful, helpful, and professional, he went through a couple price points and I was able to find one that was a good fit for my budget. I never felt he was trying to 'upsell' me, and answered all my questions. Reasonable prices and explained some useful tips about regular bike maintenance, transport, and care. I brought my 1986 Bianci mountain bike in to Jonny Rock after the fork and wheel got the worst end of a collision with a tree. The bike has sentimental value to me so wanted to see if it could be repaired. Jonny and team went the extra mile to find a hard to find replacement fork and fixed the wheel. All around great shop, from the people to the products. They are worth checking out if your in the market for a new bike. I went in looking for opinions and insights and Jonny just wanted me to take a bike for a ride and see which one fit me better. Since then I have upgraded from a 2x to a 1x drivetrain, upgraded tires, upgraded forks, handle bars and pedals. Great service and recommendations for parts. Its worth the drive to check them out.

One of our kids’ bikes had a bent derailleur. One of the bike shop employees very quickly repaired it at the curbside. Did a great job, was kind, and despite my insisting, he didn’t charge me any money. I would highly recommend and will patronize again.

True bike shop. They carry the bikes that all the others don't. The guy was obviously enthusiastic about biking and had a ton of stock. He gave me some quick info, once he asked what I was looking for, then just let me look. Prices seemed good on the fat bikes and full suspension that I was looking at. Definitely check it out before buying anyplace else. I'll be back here when its time for a full suspension.

3 hours and $20 later, my bike was fixed. I brought my mountain bike in during peak repair season (early May) in desparate need for brake work. I was worried it would take a month plus based on what I had been hearing from other bike shops. They turned it around in 3 hours and for only $20. Great service.

Seemed competent and flexible, but a tad condescending. Granted, I'm not a biking enthusiast and confused the hub and the crank. But, that's not an excuse to try to upsell a full $200+ bike makeover to make it "safe to ride" when what I was looking was a tuneup on an old rarely used bike that's been reliable, even if not perfect.

They had a large selection of new and used bikes and they did say that the used bikes would start to sell fast once spring comes around. We came in looking for an affordable bike for a ten year old, nothing fancy yet since he's at an age where he'll either outgrow it or destroy it pretty quickly. The staff were VERY helpful and found us something perfect, a good bike that was still within our budget. They seem to have a wide variety of new and used and different levels of quality. Whether you need a top notch daily vehicle, just a disposable bike for your kid to play around on, or something in between I'm sure the staff here will listen to your needs and find you something perfect.

Johnny and his crew are the best. They are all about creating value and affordability to people of all means. I'm kind of "deal junky" and spend way too much time looking online to get the best price. No need, Johnny has already done that and picks up quality products at the best possible price to give you the best bang for the buck. I'm a big advocate of supporting small business and people of integrity…Johnny Rock Bikes is both. They do not simple push products you really don’t need or those with the highest profit margin. They seem to genuinely care about giving you the best and most affordable bike shopping experience they can. We need to support more small business, and this is one definitely worth a visit.

Great little shop just off the trail in Hopkins. You can tell the owner really loves what he does. Efficient, friendly service and reasonable prices. The first time I went in my dad (who is an avid rider) was with me and when we left I believe his exact quote was, "that's my kind of bike guy." Today, I took my bike down to go for a ride and had a flat tire. Popped in with the bike, they dropped what they were working on, diagnosed the problem, and got me a new tube for a couple bucks. I was on my way in five minutes.

Love Jonny Rock Bikes! I had a last minute idea for a Fathers day gift for my husband. He has an old 1980 something Schwinn Voyageur that has been sitting in our garage ever since I met him, over twenty five years ago. Every time we clean out the garage I admit I tried to get him to get rid of the bike as it was un-ridable and had never been ridden as long as I knew my husband. My husband would agree but as he would roll it to the curb for the garbage he would get all nostalgic and say he just couldn't do it as he had put thousands of miles on the bike and hoped to one day ride it again. So this year I dug my husbands VERY old road bike out of the rafters and brought it to Jonny Rock Bikes on the Tuesday before Father's day to see if anything could be done to the bike to make it rideable again. They were amazing, not only did they refurbish it, they got it done so that I could actually give it to him for Father's Day; and, my husband loved the red handlebar tape that Jon picked out and put on the bike to match the retro red lettering on the bike!

I had stopped into Jonny Rock Bikes last fall and purchased a fender for my bike. But yesterday, it was more serious. My wife and I were looking for a new bike. For her. The first thing I noticed was the owner, John Minks, is a multi-tasker. He deftly navigated around four prospects in his store. He asked us three questions and then directed us to a couple of bikes that would fit my wife’s size. It also became clear that he knows alot about bikes. Within ten minutes of arrival my wife was riding a bike in the parking lot. A couple of quick seat adjustments and another lot loop and we had our bike; a new teal Norco Mahalat! He also installed a new kick stand, iPhone holder and water bottle holder. Can’t mount the bike on the existing bike rack? No problem. A steel adapter bar solved that. And that 35 year old bike we came in here with? He took that, too. We hopped on the nearby trail and off we went. A beautiful spring day and a three hour bike ride on the new Norco. We are impressed with John and Jonny Rock Bikes. We’ll be back.

Easy to get to, and plenty of stuff to look at. I'll be back for sure for more accessories as my budget allows.

Had a problem with my saddle. I thought I stripped the bolt that is used to adjust it. Their staff helped me identify the problem and adjusted my saddle for me at no charge. John and his staff are really good at what they do. Never any pressure to buy and they will gladly talk bikes with you all day long.
