When I called in I got one gentleman who came over as a bit annoyed and a little too busy. I still basically got the information I needed. When I got there I met a gentleman who showed me wonderful hospitality. He spent all the time needed to gather what I was experiencing on the bicycle. Once the mechanic was free, who was working very diligently for each person, he paid complete attention to my bike, riding it himself, which he did several times. When I got the bike back he had me test ride it and came out with me. The sound that my bike was making was gone and it rode smoothly. As the mechanic was going over the bike he adjusted and secured everything that needed it as well as informed me of parts that in the future would benefit from being replaced. The mechanic picked up on small things that may improve the ride and guided me to what would be most useful at that moment. I left feeling and knowing that the bike is secure and stable and capable of many, many, many, more miles!!!

Earllier in June I stopped by to pick up the front mount I had ordered to attach some new panniers. Alex asked if I wanted him to mount them for me since he had not worked with this particular product. I was more than willing to have him get it set up and to have the opportunity to talk biking with him. His extra willingness to accommodate a customer was above and beyond in my opinion. My entire buying and service experience was great. First, their website is extremely easy to navigate. I found the exact bike I wanted as well as all the relevant information about it. I picked the bike up that same day from their Roseville store. I have been riding a Trek cross bike for about ten years and decided to buy a Trek road bike this season. I usually go in to have tuneups or bike repairs. The staff is always good about initially inspecting the bike, giving advice and a price quote. In picking it up the amount I pay has typically been less than I was quoted. They’re knowledge of QBP brand bikes (Surly/Salsa), Trek and Bianchi is very good.

This is easily the best bike shop I’ve found in the Twin Cities. The store is beautiful and clean, the selection of products is awesome (I always find the best stuff I’ve researched online), and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. They’re up-front about service prices, and whenever I have a maintenance or setup question they are always happy to help me free of charge. The one thing that really sets Freewheel apart, however, is the Fanatics program, which for a small membership fee gets you discounts and coupons on everything. I have gone way past getting my money’s worth with all the accessories, clothes, and food I’ve bought. It allows me to get stuff cheaper than online and I can support local business at the same time.

Just recently bought a very nice Trek road bike. I had my eye on this bike for weeks at this store and for over a year in general. The staff at the store accommodated me on several test rides and gladly discussed fitting, equipment, features, etc over the course of multiple visits. Cody and Cory, in particular, were very helpful and even extended a deal on accessories and clothing to my friend there with me on the day I purchased the bike. I've spoken with several of their mechanics, who appear very knowledgeable. I feel all of this is above-and-beyond in service. You don't see that often in local bike shops and has helped to secure my loyalty and continued patronage of this great bike shop. Give them a look. They have a nice range of bikes from high-end to entry level, including children's bikes.

A number of years ago, I was cycling along the greenway in Mpls when my bike broke down. I made my way to Freewheel to see about a repair. It was my first time through their doors, but I was treated like a long-standing valued customer throughout the entire experience. They fixed my bike right away and thankfully it was an inexpensive fix; however, I had gone riding without any cash or a credit card. I explained that I didn’t have any money. The employee was understanding and sympathetic. He decided not to charge me. All he asked in return was that I bring my business back to Freewheel. They made a forever customer that day. I live closer to the Roseville store now so it’s my location of choice. No difference though because I receive the same amazing service!

I brought my young daughter in for a new helmet since she had outgrown her old child sized one. She was sized into an adult small and the only helmets available were plain black. The sales person noticed that she was sad that the new one wouldn't have sprinkles on it like her old helmet, so she went into the shop to find some stickers that my daughter could use to spruce up the black helmet. My daughter now has a helmet with donuts and popsicles on it, and she loves it!

We took our recumbent to be fixed at another bike store and there they told us it was defective and could not be fixed. We came to Freewheel here at Roseville for a 2nd opinion and they did a fantastic job of fixing it for, what I thought, was a reasonable price. It's been working great ever since--for over a year now. Kudos to Freewheel. I love the care they put into their store, their products and especially that I can wheel my bike in whilst on a ride, see their friendly faces and use their bathroom thank you very much.

We couldn't be more pleased with our Freewheel experience. My husband and I have been researching electric bikes online, no particular brand. Aventon started leading the pack with features and price point. Eric's Bike supposedly carries this brand so we thought to visit a store to see it in person and give it a try. Early last week, we visited the Richfield store - they did not have any Aventons at that store but if we wanted to try one out, they could have one shipped to that location IF we put down a 20% deposit! They wouldn't share where we could go (like another Eric's location) to try without paying so we left utterly disgusted. We will never set foot in an Eric's Bike store again! We thought of Penn Cycle (now part of Freewheel) as the old Penn Cycle flagship store is near our church. We stopped in and spoke with two great guys. They didn't have a small size bike there (I'm only 60" tall so really needed a small and preferable step-thru bike) but Jamie at Richfield store convinced me to give a medium Trek Allant a try. I've never been on an e-bike, so just knowing/learning how they work was at least 50% of our curiosity appeased. The Allant was truly a great experience and I was hooked. The price, however was a bit more that we had budgeted to spend. We thought to give another Freewheel location a try to see if they had any small frame bikes. We stopped in the Roseville store and they had a small frame Trek Verve 3 demo that was on sale. I test rode to compare against the Allant. The extra features on the Allant were nice, but not having them on the Verve was not a deal breaker (since this my first e-bike) and this Verve was small framed, step-thru and the price was right. SOLD!! Alex was super friendly and very helpful and we made a down-payment on the Verve. My husband has issues with comfort while riding and was looking for a bike with more "shock absorber" qualities to the fork and seat post so he was looking at e-mountain bikes with those features. We went to the Woodbury Freewheel and spoke to another great associate - I think his name was Brandon - about riding style and positioning on the bike and how that affects the need for shock absorption. My Verve has some shock absorption in the seat post so my husband will give my Verve a workout to see if the fork absorption is necessary after learning more from Brandon. I cannot stress how much the personalities of all the Freewheel associates affected our purchase. They were friendly, knowledgeable and inciteful. They were not hard sell. They clearly wanted to sell us a bike or bikes but wanted us to be pleased and happy with our decision. They are all great guys! Jamie at Richfield, Alex at Roseville and Brandon (?) at Woodbury - YAY!

Mine is a tale of two bikes and two bike shops. Early in the Spring I received exceptional service and advice from Cody when upgrading my MTN bike for the upcoming race season. After my last race my lockout lever broke and I needed the bike overhauled due to wet/muddy races. Cody and his staff took exceptional care of me and my bike and the broken lever was covered under warranty with no questions asked. I used Cody’s advice to buy a bike rack and again his expert advice was 100% right on. Couldn’t believe how easy my life got w a rack after years of throwing my bike inside my Trailblazer! A couple of years earlier I had upgraded a bike (different brand and different bike shop chain) My rear shock failed after less than a full season and I was told it was not covered under the shops Lifetime parts warranty. Rather I was handed a maintenance schedule and left feeling like I had done something wrong. I raised my concerns to their leadership and received little to no satisfaction from their management. The local shop owner finally took care of me but it was a hassle and left me not feeling cared for on a large ticket bike purchase. Conclusion: I originally started riding Trek..got away from the brand but have come back as a 100% loyal customer. Cody, his staff and Mario who one night pre Chequemagon tumed up my ride, has me loyal to Freewheel! Thanks for making my 2018 race season the best ever. You have blown your competition away with individualized customer service and treating the customer with respect. Thank you.
